Episode Transcript
[00:00:03] Speaker A: That was another me trying to impersonate Dan's energy, I think. It's a Monday evening, we're all quite sleepy. But we are here for the very last Algonon's Angels. We are here to talk about our last downtime. We're here to talk about episode 19, especially the B team episode that we filmed last week. Well, it's last week of this recording anyway. So, yeah, we're here to talk about how we're going to go into the very last episode, the finale of Alicia Rising. So let's start off with. I guess let's start off with our last downtime, because we usually do these before a downtime. So the last one we last. Aguilarn's Angels we did was before our very last downtime. And obviously quite a lot happened.
So I guess we want to. Who started off. Who started off the downtime? It was probably. I think it was Atta. Did Atta start the downtime?
[00:01:09] Speaker B: No. Well, I don't think so in the sense of our kind of scenes where we were wrapping up bits of our characters stories, do you mean?
My first note is you, Nate, as Katherine.
[00:01:23] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:01:24] Speaker B: Finding Dorothea.
[00:01:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Destitute, I think, because we did have a. We did have a chat with Dan about what we wanted to tie up, like, any loose ends. And I definitely said that I wanted to tie up the loose end with Dorothea and I was not sure how he was going to play that out. So that was good.
Yeah, it was. It was interesting because I didn't want Katherine to sort of fully forgive her for what she's probably done to him in his life, but felt like it was a nice little step towards it maybe. So. Yeah.
[00:02:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it was quite nice with the whole power differential kind of flipped and you reaching out to help her up despite the fact that of course, you know.
[00:02:15] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I was fully prepared to tell her to go do one, but.
[00:02:21] Speaker B: It just shows what a good person Catherine is at heart, that he can push all that history aside and still show compassion, even though he doesn't like her.
[00:02:32] Speaker C: The two dragons sent Dorothea and. Well, I guess we've got sexy dragon scent now. Yeah.
As well. But they've been such an interesting, like, contrast. And it kind of makes me think of, like, gifted children. It's like, yeah. Oh, whoops, sorry. I did a thing.
[00:02:52] Speaker B: I did a thing that my computer.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: Does when I do this.
But, like Dorothea, like, hard went obedience and Catherine, hard went disobedience. Like when you're both, like, special in that sense. I think they've Been such interesting characters to kind of have that kind of dynamic of having your world kind of crash around you as well.
[00:03:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:03:16] Speaker A: I like to think that Catherine doesn't actually know very many dragon sense either. Like besides from himself and probably Dorothea and now Walnut, there's probably very little few, especially in Eliza that he knows.
So that's just quite a nice dynamic to play with. I would also like to mention that I don't believe I would ever get on a recording. I get to have sex again. Shouted really loudly like I did on that episode.
Yeah, yeah. So who was. Who was next after that?
[00:03:52] Speaker B: I believe it was you.
Spoke to my sort of mentor slash surrogate dadu, Samuel.
Just had a bit of a heart to heart really, about the fact that being kicked out of her noble family home had kind of forced her down a more authentic path than the one she was on before.
[00:04:19] Speaker A: Which I think was really nice because I don't think we've had a chance to have very many heart to heart sort of.
Sort of parts with Magpie. Like, we've not really had a chance for Magpie to really show much of her background or show like vulnerability, I guess more.
[00:04:40] Speaker B: She's had a couple of chats with Algernon which were a bit more vulnerable.
Yeah. But I guess she's quite a reserved character, isn't she? Yeah. It's been nice to have that chance.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:04:53] Speaker B: And then it was Algerdon, I believe, family dinner with the Fairfaxes.
[00:04:59] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. That was nice. I think the one thing I really wanted to do with Fairfax was just actually show why they're friends. Like I'm not using him for once. I just wanted to actually go there and ask for some sincere, like, advice from a friend.
And the whole thing about having this, like, secret held over him about his exam results, which is something I've had in my back pocket all along in case I needed to twist his arm. Like in case one of my.
One of my Sway roles didn't quite work.
But I think the whole thing with D'Vera coming back into his life and revealing herself as this sort of secret guardian angel who's been pulling Algae's strings for so long, it's made Algae realize that's what he's been doing to Fairfax and some of the other people in his life and he doesn't like it. So I think that was just a way to like, just finish that relationship on a good note and get some like, cute roleplay in. Yeah. With my old boy.
[00:06:11] Speaker B: It was so cute. I loved it.
[00:06:15] Speaker C: It was very Cute. I feel like Algernon never, like, switches off. But even in the dinner, Algernon was still, like, on. Do you know what I mean?
[00:06:26] Speaker B: It's like.
[00:06:27] Speaker C: It's a very layered and complex character.
Yeah.
[00:06:35] Speaker B: But no, you're absolutely lovely to see him having a really authentic connection moment rather than he. There was no agenda. There was nothing. He wasn't trying to manipulate. He was just actually connecting with a friend. It was while still being very Algernon, of course. Yeah.
That was good.
[00:06:57] Speaker A: Were we all a little bit surprised that Fairfax has a kid?
[00:07:01] Speaker C: Oh, no, no.
[00:07:03] Speaker B: He's got that sad dad energy, hasn't he?
[00:07:07] Speaker C: Sad dad?
[00:07:09] Speaker D: I was. And I really like. It was a. It was a surprise to Algernon as well. Like, it's something that he. Even though Algernon prides himself in knowing everybody's business, his best friend had managed to keep that from him. Secret child, would you keep.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
Then you had a chat. Well, Katherine had a chat with Frida about how she felt about her little oopsie murder.
[00:07:37] Speaker A: Oopsie did a murder?
[00:07:39] Speaker B: Oopsy did a murder.
[00:07:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:07:40] Speaker B: Unfortunately, presumably not the first death she's ever caused. Or did she say it was?
[00:07:45] Speaker A: She said it was the first one, which people can probably guess that Meg's not here, so.
[00:07:49] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:07:50] Speaker B: Without a match.
[00:07:51] Speaker A: She will be in the finale, obviously.
But, yeah, like, I was quite surprised that Frida hadn't killed before.
[00:08:03] Speaker B: She'd never let it go that far.
[00:08:06] Speaker A: But that's cool. I liked that.
And I always do feel like Frieda and Katherine have that relationship, like they have that friendship relationship.
[00:08:16] Speaker B: Definitely. That's well established, isn't it, by now? So it made sense that she would go to Catherine to open up about that.
[00:08:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:26] Speaker C: I feel like there's a lot of things that you could talk to Catherine about. I kind of feel like Catherine's the friend where you could do pretty much.
[00:08:34] Speaker B: Most things and it's hard to shock him.
[00:08:37] Speaker C: Right.
[00:08:41] Speaker B: And he'll be supportive of you no matter what.
[00:08:44] Speaker C: Right.
Yeah.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: Unless you. Unless you summon your Nan. Atta.
[00:08:49] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
Or try to join the kindling.
There's a few things. Okay. There's a few things he'll disapprove of.
[00:08:58] Speaker C: But burn down the city.
[00:08:59] Speaker B: He's a bit of a ride or die friend, isn't he?
[00:09:04] Speaker A: So how did you. How did Atta feel about summoning her grandma?
[00:09:09] Speaker C: The war we. It was. It was kind of weird. I feel like. I think I said this in the episode. I can't quite remember or. Or not. But I Feel like at this point it weirdly doesn't.
It doesn't have the same sort of effect as it. As it would have earlier in the campaign.
It was. I think it was even a surprise to Atta that she was less invested in.
It was more. More like a. Oh, that's.
So that is happening and that can happen. And this, this makes sense logically, as opposed to kind of being very like, you know, it didn't drive her to go do mad science crap, which it would have had it been many episodes ago.
[00:10:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:13] Speaker C: But I think she's still very unsure as to like, what the parameters of. I think we all are. Maybe what the parameters for like summoning spirits. Memories. Spirits slash memories. Yeah. And then what.
What is the catalyst for? Er.
[00:10:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:39] Speaker C: But I also. I think I also went to Lorenzo and got healed. I'm looking at my.
[00:10:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. So we had our, like, what are your two downtime activities, all that. And then we had. We had. We did the useful stuff, the official blades in dark downtime stuff. And then we had our own little let's have heart to heart moments. I feel.
[00:11:01] Speaker C: No, I feel like it's worth noting because Lorenzo actually did help at that point.
[00:11:05] Speaker B: It was. Lorenzo's great. What are you talking about? Anytime your healing hasn't worked to the past is on you. Lorenzo's great.
[00:11:13] Speaker C: He knows exactly what to do.
[00:11:15] Speaker B: He knows exactly what to do.
[00:11:16] Speaker C: Not taking the medicine.
[00:11:17] Speaker B: If you don't give him an accurate medical history, he can't help you.
[00:11:23] Speaker A: Didn't you get a sticker this time around?
[00:11:26] Speaker C: I think so, yeah. Yeah. Me and Frida had a passing conversation about some kind of sticker. I feel like it was more, you know, probably a smudge or a stain.
Bile.
[00:11:42] Speaker A: But hello.
[00:11:44] Speaker C: From somewhere. Somewhere on Lorenzo.
[00:11:48] Speaker A: So we've got some bits and pieces that happened in the last downtime and obviously led to prepping for the score in the first half of episode 19.
So Devira's been kidnapped and not only that, the Black Guard are still around.
[00:12:06] Speaker B: Yeah, we thought they might be just gone or something. Yeah, we were hoping they'd slunk off.
[00:12:11] Speaker D: And they've been working for Lady Nef. Yeah. And her stepmom all along because she's still the. The ruler of Alicia. I guess by their rules, in some.
[00:12:24] Speaker B: People'S eyes, she is. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:12:27] Speaker A: So, yeah, the whole. The whole looking after the Ruby Keep wasn't to sort of surround Algarve because he was still under there.
[00:12:35] Speaker D: It was because Heartland.
[00:12:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:38] Speaker D: The hearts under there.
[00:12:39] Speaker B: Turia Valanmar wasn't it.
Yeah.
So all of that. And we found out that episode that the Raven had stolen the shroud, which was Odal Merce's contraption, that he was hoping to use the. The memories, as we now know them to be from outside to power the veil or. Yeah, to use memories of some type to power.
[00:13:05] Speaker D: And they're using that to power their arc. However they're going.
[00:13:10] Speaker B: Whatever it is they're using to escape. Exactly. It's all very dastardly and we don't like them, which we.
[00:13:17] Speaker A: Depending on when this episode. This episode of Aganon's Angels airs, which I'm guessing would be before the finale, hopefully, which we know is not going to work because the bee team thoroughly thrashed them.
[00:13:29] Speaker C: Yeah, like so. Well, everything went incredibly to plan with the B team.
[00:13:36] Speaker B: It was so good.
[00:13:37] Speaker A: Should we have a little chat about the B team?
[00:13:39] Speaker B: Go on.
[00:13:39] Speaker C: Yeah. I've got a question before we chat about the B team. Okay. It's like, do we.
Who do we think or who do we know is on, quote unquote, the arc? Because Algon got an invitation.
[00:13:53] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:13:54] Speaker B: Can we talk about that?
[00:13:55] Speaker A: Yeah, let's talk about that first.
I can't remember when it was. It was a few. It was a few episodes ago before we started recording. Dan pulled JC into a secret chat and we were just like, what is this all about? So, yeah, we didn't know anything about it until that. That part. That part in episode, in that end of that downtime, that was the first time any of us had heard about it.
[00:14:22] Speaker B: Obviously, this photo.
[00:14:22] Speaker D: And Casey and I probably wouldn't have revealed it if Dan hadn't sort of forced my hand by having the Raven pop up and say something along the lines of, you've now got a deadline to respond to this invitation.
Okay, so now I need to tell my fellow players what that's about.
[00:14:48] Speaker B: It kind of felt like a good moment with being kidnapped, which was a very dramatic moment. I really loved that, you know, you had that quiet moment of understanding between the two of you looking at each other through. Down the corridor. And then all of a sudden, yeah, out stops.
[00:15:07] Speaker D: Because in my mind, I. I still don't really trust her.
But then I'd had like Fairfax, Dan via Fairfax, basically tell me that to bury the hatchet and trust her. So Algernon sort of got those cogs turning of. Maybe I should actually start working with this person.
[00:15:24] Speaker B: It's such classic timing for a kidnap, isn't it?
Just as you're beginning to see eye to eye and work on Things. Off she goes.
Yeah, that was very cool. And yeah, the reveal that actually Nefene had been in touch with Algernon to say, would you like a place on the ark? Absolutely outrageous.
Outrageous behavior.
[00:15:51] Speaker D: Yeah. And then I got traumatized.
[00:15:54] Speaker B: So now you wanted to be traumatized?
[00:15:57] Speaker D: I wanted to be traumatized.
[00:15:58] Speaker B: Don't put it in the passive sense. It's like a completely active decision to take trauma.
[00:16:07] Speaker D: Yeah. But I left it up to Dan as to how that would play out and exactly what it would do. Whether it was going to be like a resistance to some consequence, or I actually ended up pushing myself via the dice to defend myself.
[00:16:21] Speaker B: That's right. But then. And then you aced it. So you didn't get murdered on the spot by a Black Guard. You ended up getting traumatized by.
[00:16:31] Speaker D: One of the things I had.
One of the things I've had for Arganon all along is that he has some kind of secret training where he can fight using one arm and a stick from his days in the military and that. Yeah, that got used to defend himself and that. Yeah. So now he's traumatized and he is unstable, I think was the one I picked.
[00:16:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I like that a lot.
[00:17:02] Speaker D: We'll see where all that positive growth and lovey dovey stuff goes after that.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: I love the idea of trauma in.
[00:17:10] Speaker C: Blades in the Dark, like. Or you just got it.
[00:17:13] Speaker B: You've just got it. It just. It becomes like, you know, a source of roleplay and xp, basically.
[00:17:19] Speaker C: Okay. You just never remove trauma.
[00:17:22] Speaker D: Yeah. You can get up to three, I think, and then after that, you just.
[00:17:26] Speaker B: On your fourth, you're out of the game completely.
[00:17:29] Speaker C: Right, right, right.
[00:17:30] Speaker B: So Frieda's gonna have to work real hard to get Blades.
[00:17:37] Speaker D: We're all trying to get character growth from our characters, but Blades isn't really a game about character growth. It's a game about characters descending into, like, trauma and madness and injury. And it's just about how much they can get out of it.
[00:17:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:17:52] Speaker B: I guess given we're only playing a limited series of sessions, then it was unlikely any of us were gonna totally crash and burn out of the campaign. But it could have happened if we'd been really reckless.
Just quickly, before we talk about the arc, sort of off the back of Blackthorn getting kidnapped, we had a chat with Wizard Orb, didn't we? And we found out what this whole business of Devira being a Heart speaker might be about.
Jeremy, was it. Oh, yeah.
Was it Heart Speaker? And then the. He called it Crystal called, Sophia called it. Was Crystal singing. So. But it's the same idea, apparently. So you. You can commune with mana in its physical form, I. E. Mana crystals.
And so heart speaker.
[00:18:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:18:54] Speaker B: So we basically, it turns out, of.
[00:18:57] Speaker C: Wizard orb as well. There he is on my note.
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Good old wizard orb.
[00:19:01] Speaker C: Crystal singing. Rat mass. Yeah, we've got all the important hits on my notes.
[00:19:07] Speaker B: So we kind of need to figure out what to do with that information that D'Vera is clearly a crystal, and what Nefene might be planning, plotting to do with her, and how we can disrupt that without hurting D'Vera. Ideally, maybe we need to incapacitate her somehow.
[00:19:25] Speaker C: Well, there's silence potions.
[00:19:27] Speaker B: Right, like the silent. Well, the silence potions. That's assuming it requires a verbal or bespoken component. I mean, Lorenzo loves his paralytic poison we've discovered from the B team. One shot. Maybe we could do that to De Vera.
[00:19:44] Speaker C: True.
[00:19:44] Speaker B: Ask Lorenzo.
[00:19:45] Speaker C: Lorenzo is freaky.
[00:19:47] Speaker B: He is freaky. He's a right freak. Yeah.
Love it.
But, yeah, I just thought that was interesting. That was a bit of information that we discussed.
[00:19:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:58] Speaker B: Might want to do something with.
But, yeah. Who is going on the ark?
[00:20:06] Speaker D: Yeah, because I.
I'd assumed before the last episode that it was just gonna be me, or just gonna be Algernon and Nefunet and the stepmother. There wasn't any mention of any other Nobles.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: Yeah, but then when Frieda was doing her little interrogation with the.
[00:20:29] Speaker D: There are more. There are more members of the Lodge than I realized.
[00:20:32] Speaker B: They seem to think they're going, but. But I wouldn't be surprised if that was a lie.
To keep them on side, keep them helpful. I. I wonder if Nefuna's told them there is a place for you on the escape boat or whatever it is, whatever magical thing it is they're doing to get out.
But then why would Nefune bother? Once she's out, she's out. You know, I wonder how much loyalty she actually feels to these people.
[00:21:00] Speaker D: Her letter to Al was along the lines of, we need to carry on the nobility.
[00:21:06] Speaker B: Oh, okay. So maybe she is planning to get them all out. Yeah. Okay.
[00:21:13] Speaker C: What?
[00:21:14] Speaker B: Keep the lines pure and all that?
[00:21:16] Speaker D: Something along those lines, yeah.
[00:21:20] Speaker B: She's.
[00:21:21] Speaker C: She's.
Oh, my gosh. A sanguar, though, right? So she. She's just abandoning all of the. Well, I guess if they're not nobles.
[00:21:30] Speaker B: Then I don't think she feels any. I don't think being a Sanguivar doesn't necessarily endear you to other people with the Same condition.
[00:21:41] Speaker C: Well, but they're all descendant from the nobility. That was the kind of. Or that's the idea, isn't it?
[00:21:48] Speaker B: I think.
[00:21:48] Speaker C: Descendant from one house.
[00:21:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:50] Speaker D: Because they.
[00:21:50] Speaker B: Well, yeah, they're of the family line that. Yeah. Support of. They are. They're all related to. Directly to people who supported the arcane dragons in the war, aren't they? Some of whom will have been nobility, but not all.
[00:22:06] Speaker C: I guess there's a difference between nobility and royal, which. She is royal, right? That's the. She's. The. She's part of the royal line.
[00:22:15] Speaker D: Yeah, basically.
[00:22:18] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:22:21] Speaker B: Okay. So there are clearly some people that she's planning on taking. So. Yeah. Lodge reticent people. Algernon was invited.
Don't know who else. Clearly not Odal because he went kaboom. I don't know. I don't know if my mum's going actually be like her. Wouldn't it?
Utterly oblivious. She probably doesn't even even know that. Or have. She hasn't even thought about the fact that they'd be abandoning everyone else.
[00:22:52] Speaker A: I didn't. I can't quite remember from the conversation that they both had, But Algernon and D'Vera, like, this was before the kidnapping scene. They had like a brief tite.
[00:23:07] Speaker D: Yeah. I was trying to. I was trying to suss out if she'd also been invited.
[00:23:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:23:12] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:23:14] Speaker A: I couldn't quite remember whether or not it sounded like she had or if she hadn't or she didn't.
[00:23:21] Speaker D: I don't know. Well, we both. We both. We both speak in cryptic riddles, so just anyone's guess.
[00:23:30] Speaker B: I mean, whether or not she was invited.
She. She's there now. Yeah.
She's been forcibly invited.
No RSVP required.
[00:23:41] Speaker A: Exactly.
Right.
[00:23:44] Speaker B: B team, one shot.
[00:23:45] Speaker A: B team, one shot.
[00:23:46] Speaker B: B team, one shot. So much fun.
[00:23:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Obviously we don't have Tim here either.
[00:23:52] Speaker B: No, Tim. But, like, another really big thank you.
[00:23:54] Speaker A: To him for, like, stepping in very quickly.
[00:23:57] Speaker C: Legend very much as Kate.
[00:24:03] Speaker A: Very capable.
[00:24:04] Speaker B: Very, very capable.
[00:24:05] Speaker D: Just to play like the generic sort of human character who then just walks up to the Big Bad and shoots her in the face to finish the whole thing. It's hilarious.
[00:24:14] Speaker B: Absolutely iconic.
Brilliant.
I'm just so nonchalant about it.
This is my favorite magic rock.
[00:24:24] Speaker C: It's the way for the gun in the face.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: It's the way. Dan was like. As you get ready to shoot Lady Null, another assassin of the Ill Nae appears. And Tim was just like, sure. And then carried on and shot her.
[00:24:40] Speaker C: Amazing. That's what makes him Capable.
[00:24:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: So.
[00:24:44] Speaker A: And that was. That was the perfect time to get a crit as well as well.
[00:24:50] Speaker B: It was fantastic. Did people enjoy playing their B team characters?
I think everyone did a really good.
[00:24:58] Speaker D: Job playing a character who's just efficient at doing fighting and shooting and doesn't have to think five steps ahead and just whip out a knife and be.
[00:25:09] Speaker B: Slippery, aggressively flirting with Alejandro through the gossiper's earring.
[00:25:17] Speaker C: In your like, preparation, were you like, yeah, I'm going to make Wraith real horror horny.
Is that like. Was that like notes efficient, killer horny.
[00:25:28] Speaker D: Subconsciously, yeah.
They've got this. All of our cohorts have got like a little pre generated blurb and with Roath, it says he's chiseled. It's basically the only way it describes him.
[00:25:46] Speaker B: A chiseled sprite.
[00:25:48] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:25:48] Speaker C: So. So does that mean we didn't think about the vices obviously for B team characters, but it'd be fun to think of what our B team characters.
[00:25:56] Speaker B: Oh, I totally have mine just.
[00:25:57] Speaker D: Mine just said gambling.
[00:25:59] Speaker B: So, yeah, I think mine.
[00:26:00] Speaker A: I think Dan pregenerated them.
[00:26:04] Speaker B: But what do we think our characters vices would genuinely be?
[00:26:11] Speaker C: I need to look at the options for Lorenzo, but yeah, I'd love to.
[00:26:15] Speaker B: Know what Yalls does is. Is it oblivion through drugs? Does he just like.
[00:26:23] Speaker C: I'm not sure.
[00:26:24] Speaker B: I think sample from his own supply.
[00:26:29] Speaker C: Maybe.
Maybe it is the same because. What? ATAS is weird, isn't it?
I think it would be weird as well, but weird in a different way.
[00:26:40] Speaker B: A different weird.
[00:26:41] Speaker C: Different kind of weird, like. Yeah. I kind of think he's into sensory deprivation.
[00:26:47] Speaker B: Well, what with his obsession with paralyzing.
Yeah.
[00:26:51] Speaker C: He's got some equipment under there.
[00:26:54] Speaker B: He's got some kinky tendencies.
[00:26:56] Speaker C: Thin metal rods in his coat.
[00:26:58] Speaker B: Sorry.
[00:27:03] Speaker C: JC's like, Ah. And then. Oh, no.
Good face journey.
[00:27:12] Speaker B: Oh, gosh. Anyway, if anyone get that reference, we'll tell you when you're older.
Very good. I think. I think gambling fits for fiends, to be honest. Why not? She seems quite optimistic. I could imagine her bouncing up to the roulette table and being like, brilliant. Everything on Black 8 or ever, however, blackjack. I don't know how anything gambling works, but. Yeah.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: Do you feel like you redeemed fiends?
[00:27:47] Speaker B: I think I redeemed fiends. I've always loved fiends. I think she's lovely, she's enthusiastic, she doesn't always get it right. She's basically me. So that's why I'm very defendant offensive of her.
But yeah, I think she did good. I think she did real good. She didn't murder any innocents with her bombs. No, she managed to put Lorenzo to sleep by mistake.
[00:28:12] Speaker A: No, that was Lorenzo's fault.
[00:28:13] Speaker B: He put himself, to be fair. That was. That was a tea.
[00:28:15] Speaker C: He's into.
[00:28:17] Speaker A: He's into that.
[00:28:18] Speaker C: He's into that.
[00:28:19] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:28:22] Speaker C: No, Fiends did a good job. I think fiends was incredibly.
[00:28:28] Speaker B: Like, in.
[00:28:30] Speaker C: It was like a level. I imagine that it was like a sit down conversation. Now it's really important that the bombs goes correctly in the correct place. But yeah, I think beans was really good.
[00:28:44] Speaker B: She needs to be managed, she needs to be handled. But if you handle her correctly, she's a boon to the team, I think.
[00:28:53] Speaker C: Yeah, she's useful. I also loved Tarian's, like, rational.
I'm just gonna tell everyone why they shouldn't do this.
I think that was great.
[00:29:06] Speaker A: Well, this, I mean, I asked Dan before, like, did we actually find out why Algarve shot Varian? Like, did we actually find out the reason why he shot her?
And I don't think it ever actually got mentioned in an episode.
[00:29:24] Speaker B: No.
Is it worth mentioning?
[00:29:27] Speaker A: Well, she knew harrow stuff, so basically I think we only just, like, recently learned it in, like, either episode 16 or somewhere recent. But obviously Taria knew about the veil and failing, but she also knew who the heart was, which I think she's mentioned in episode 16, that she knew that it was.
[00:29:53] Speaker D: She told us.
[00:29:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
And so Dan told me that she was planning to actually go to the people of Alicia and tell them to tell everyone about it. And Algarve found that as a way of, you know, hindering his power over Alicia. And so when, well, there's only one way I can stop her from doing this and that was to shoot her, basically. So.
[00:30:18] Speaker B: So it wasn't through some misguided altruistic, like, I don't want there to be panic zone in the. In my streets.
[00:30:26] Speaker A: Yeah, it was drive.
[00:30:27] Speaker B: It was more of a, I don't want my power to be undermined in the city, right?
[00:30:31] Speaker A: Pretty much, yeah.
[00:30:33] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:30:33] Speaker A: I felt like, in a way that Tarvarian would go. Would actually be just like, no, I'm just gonna tell everyone now.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: It kind of made sense to do that. That was a very Tarvarian move, wasn't it?
[00:30:47] Speaker C: You know how, like, when we have a conversation and sometimes you remember something. Nobody ever found Elgar's, like, body, did they?
[00:30:54] Speaker B: Oh, no, he got burnt to absolute cinders. Well, he was underneath the key, hopefully.
[00:30:59] Speaker C: But like, yeah, yeah. I mean, hopefully I'll go. There's haste. Like, but you know, you know what Dan's like, maybe. Maybe he'll get put in a mech suit.
[00:31:13] Speaker B: No, we're gonna meet Mecca Algarve.
[00:31:18] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:31:18] Speaker C: Yeah, Imagine. And then it becomes listening.
[00:31:24] Speaker D: It was interesting for me, right, Because I'd written. I'll. I'll garve into my character's backstory as like a personal villain, somebody who's responsible for my character's downfall. And then to watch him be assassinated like 30ft away from me by an NPC was interesting. So maybe, maybe he will be back.
[00:31:47] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:31:49] Speaker C: I just like, you know, when you don't see. I gotta see the body. I gotta confirm death.
[00:31:54] Speaker B: Got to see the body.
[00:31:56] Speaker C: Gotta check for pulse, check for breath.
[00:31:59] Speaker A: But that's the thing. Remove that if he hasn't been. If he's still down there. If his body's still down there. Could we. Could we grab his ghost?
[00:32:08] Speaker B: He's crispy bacon. Like, do we think so? Do we think he's definitely got it? After all this time, would he still have a ghost?
[00:32:18] Speaker A: Maybe.
[00:32:19] Speaker B: I don't know.
[00:32:19] Speaker D: Didn't we. Didn't we find it in the mausoleum when we were looking for Tarvarians?
[00:32:24] Speaker B: Oh, did we?
[00:32:25] Speaker C: I don't think so. Because it was all the blackguard were guarding. And now we know it's because heart stuff, right? That the tower was being guarded.
[00:32:35] Speaker A: This. This was another thing I asked Dan and I think I actually asked in him in the episode whether or not Algarve was actually in the mausoleum, but. But I've forgotten her name now. The person who was guiding me around just sort of gave like a wink, wink, nudge, nudge to say he is here. But he's not actually here. We're just pretending he's here.
[00:32:57] Speaker C: Yeah, I remember that.
[00:32:59] Speaker B: Dan is planning something.
[00:33:01] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:33:03] Speaker C: Oh, no.
I just, you know. You know how like you think, think. Okay. There's the ultimate big bad rat lady. Mass rat mask lady. I just kind of feel like there's other.
I don't know.
[00:33:19] Speaker D: We could create a rival swarm of rats with Algarve's soul.
[00:33:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:27] Speaker C: This does bring up our arrival. Swarm of rats.
[00:33:29] Speaker B: This does bring up a really good point, which is that with the B team one shot. Culminating in completely overthrowing and ending the ill Naji in their plot to garner spirits to power. Nefene's Ark.
[00:33:45] Speaker D: Which.
[00:33:47] Speaker B: What are we going to do about them rats, though? In order to for the main A team to get down there and disrupt Whatever's happening, the ritual that they're doing, what are we going to do about those rats?
[00:34:01] Speaker C: They have a magic crown.
[00:34:03] Speaker B: They have a magic crown that Algernon handily gave back to them.
And yeah, they're gonna be angry and hungry and they're not gonna let us anywhere near Neferturia.
So we've got to deal with rats, we've got to deal with blackguard and probably a raven.
What we gonna need for all that? How are we gonna. And where are we hoping this will all end?
[00:34:32] Speaker A: Yeah, gosh, all alive. Meg is threatening that she's. That one of us is gonna die.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: Yeah, she knows Dan too well.
The good news is though, if one of us does die, we'll probably get to keep playing till the end of the episode. As a go, go, go, go.
[00:34:49] Speaker A: As a go, go, go, go.
That's true. Well, shall we have a little discussion off camera about what we're going to do?
[00:35:00] Speaker C: Let's do that.
[00:35:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:01] Speaker A: And maybe, maybe in the comments you could say what you think we're gonna do.
But if you, if you're very excited about the finale, if you want to see it, if you want to watch all the other episodes, if you like this video, you can hit like button, you can subscribe, you can hit the notification button and know when we actually upload the finale because it is coming very, very soon. And we're coming up to the ultimate finale soon. Like probably tomorrow I think. I think it probably get airs tomorrow or the next day soon.
But like until then, this has been the very last Algernon's Angels. I'm sure we'll have another chat once all things have totally not gone to.
[00:35:44] Speaker B: Hopefully do a bit of post campaign dissection.
[00:35:48] Speaker C: I also think, I guess like our team name is now the A team because of there exists the B team, but also Algernon's Angels. AA team.
[00:35:57] Speaker A: The AA Team.
[00:36:02] Speaker B: I can't believe we never came up with a crew name. A proper one. Yeah, we just have with the AA team.
[00:36:14] Speaker A: Well, until then, thank you everyone. We're gonna go and summon Dan and hopefully he will guide us through this finale.
Until then, bye.
[00:36:26] Speaker B: See you then.
[00:36:27] Speaker D: By.
