Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Previously on Alicia Rising.
[00:00:03] Speaker B: Algernon, what happened? What's going on?
[00:00:06] Speaker C: Magpie might notice that as well as shaking, I'm also like, starting to laugh. Very quietly.
[00:00:13] Speaker B: The Raven was here.
[00:00:14] Speaker A: Yes, but why?
[00:00:16] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:00:17] Speaker B: Friede, what did he say? The Heart.
[00:00:20] Speaker C: He called her the heart speaker. The Lodge reticent have taken custody of Odal Mercy's shroud device. And we need to know where exactly they might keep such a thing.
[00:00:32] Speaker A: There is one cobble in particular that I think is going to prove to be a real boon to this investigation. I've been doing a bit of digging and I think I know where she is. What remains of Elysia isn't just the streets and buildings that we live in. It's a space beneath the streets.
[00:00:52] Speaker C: If the veil is a sphere, we can find its epicenter.
[00:00:55] Speaker A: Anathea. Epicenter.
You will find the heart.
[00:00:59] Speaker B: So how do we get down there?
[00:01:01] Speaker A: While Tyria is protected by all those flesh eating rodents, you and your friends haven't got a chance of getting down there. Not while she controls those rats. As you're kind of going through Nephene's like things, you chance upon a leaflet. A pamphlet. Join us in Memorial park for a sanctions communion with the dead.
[00:01:33] Speaker D: Okay, they're doing a seance.
[00:01:36] Speaker A: Once the remembrance summons all these memories from that happening to presumably Nefna Interior, completing their plan is going to be a quite a tight window of opportunity. The five of you will have to start the score with faith that the B team completes their objectives. The question then, I guess is who the B team is.
Who do you trust to do this mission?
Welcome to Elysia, the jewel of the north. On our gilded streets, fortune and fame can be found by anyone.
[00:02:22] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Julia and I'm playing Fiend's a Majani Leech.
[00:02:28] Speaker E: Hi, I'm Nate and I'm playing Tavarin, a hollow hull.
[00:02:33] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Errol. I'm playing Lorenzo, a keeper leech.
[00:02:38] Speaker C: Hello, I'm JC and I'm playing Roath, a sprite hound.
[00:02:43] Speaker F: Hi, I'm Tim and I'm playing Capable Tomorrow.
[00:02:48] Speaker A: My name is DM Dan. I will be the games master on this adventure. So come on in and marvel at our wonders. Make sure you see the beautiful views.
[00:03:00] Speaker D: We have to offer.
[00:03:01] Speaker A: And don't mind the ghosts.
[00:03:02] Speaker D: They're friendly.
[00:03:03] Speaker A: Really. Grab yourselves a seat and make yourselves.
[00:03:07] Speaker B: Welcome in the city of Elysia.
[00:03:15] Speaker A: Hello and welcome to Explorers of Elsewhere's Alicia Rising. Hi, I'm DM Dan. These are my five beautiful assistants in crime we have Julia. We have Errol, we have jc. We have Nate and Tim.
[00:03:37] Speaker F: It's Tim. I'm back, baby.
[00:03:39] Speaker A: Tim is back. Unfortunately, Meg is taken ill, but we have Grace. We've been graced by the presence of Tim. Some of you may have seen him from Campaign One or some of the one shots that we've run. But thank you for jumping in. Thank you. Thank you.
How are all of you?
[00:03:59] Speaker B: Pretty good.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: Are you all feeling good? There's something weird happening with this overlay because it looks like everyone's got a new character, new face.
Yes. We are about to start the final score and we're going to begin the start of the final score with the B team.
The NPCs of the still, as of yet unnamed crew are, yeah, kicking things off and we don't know, like these. These are all rental car characters really, aren't they? So we don't know what things are going to look like by the time we finish.
But I think.
I think it's gonna be fun. I think it's gonna be a good time.
[00:04:51] Speaker E: Only one way to find out.
[00:04:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
Who would like the keys to the rentals?
[00:04:57] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:04:59] Speaker A: Yeah. We find the five of you on your way to Spire park, specifically to Union park, just to the east of the now ruined Ruby. Keep in. In the last episode, we figured out how, like, what Nefna's plans are. We did some gather information on that. So you all know that the Ornishi are hosting a. Like a remembrance service of sorts within Union park, which at Atta's insistence is probably a very bad idea because thinking too hard about lost relatives and friends creates a manifestation of those spirits, which then proceed to numb everything in a close radius. Algernon and the others have tasked the five of you to stop this remembrance and any. Any spirits that are conjured to stop them getting schlurped up by the Elna, she. And sent down to Nefuna for whatever ritual she's cooking up in the heart of Elysia. Which is where the A team, as we currently speak, are heading off the back of the gather informations that you did. I'm not. I don't believe we figured out a. Like a route, like a point of ingress. So between the five of you, how. How are you thinking that this. This mission starts? Who's. Who's the tip of the spear?
[00:06:37] Speaker D: The most capable of us, surely.
[00:06:39] Speaker B: The most capable.
[00:06:43] Speaker A: I mean, there is. There is one amongst your rank who is. Who is very, very capable, perhaps I should say. Yeah. So the gathered group that Strides towards Union park is the tall and dashing keeper Lorenzo, the stoic but somewhat smaller figure of Roath, a positively gleeful and happy and clapping fiends, the unmistakable clanking form of Tavarin and a Lorivar, a Loravar man who has joined at the 11th hour. In actual fact, what I'm going to do is just spin over to this newcomer.
Who. Who is this newcomer? What do they look like? Why are they here?
[00:07:38] Speaker F: I think he's probably asking himself that as well.
He's here because that's what most OFN has told him to do.
This is the young Capable Tom, or maybe the old Capable Tom. It's not really clear.
But the important thing about him is that if you need something done, he'll do it. Will he do it? Well, who knows? But he'll get it done. And this is something that needs doing.
And importantly, he's fine.
Don't worry about it.
[00:08:14] Speaker B: Oh, that's good.
I'm glad he's fine.
[00:08:18] Speaker A: So, yes, Capable Tom, at muscles insistence, introduced to Algernon & Co.
A short while ago. This was. Well, perhaps, perhaps Capable Tom has been the key to Musto's success throughout the city. Because heaven's not knows it, it wasn't Musto that was the key to Musto's rise to power, was it?
So let's have a look.
[00:08:46] Speaker F: Comment.
[00:08:48] Speaker A: So let's have a quick look at the roots of ingress. Are the four of you seeding two capable Toms capable plans for the engagement role?
[00:09:02] Speaker B: Do you think Roath would stand for that?
[00:09:04] Speaker C: J.C.
roath has been informed that Tom is the most capable criminal in the whole of Master Van's empire.
[00:09:14] Speaker B: Yeah, okay.
[00:09:16] Speaker A: Okay. Well, to paint you a scene as you approach, there is a worrying number of people gathered in Union Park.
So you know that if the unaided plan goes off kind of without a hitch, the devastation that will be unleashed on Spire park and the citizens here will be quite frankly, catastrophic.
And whatever fallout there may be in the aftermath like the city is on, is on such a tipping point that it might well and truly push it over the edge.
You can see that there are a number of kind of Majani stood on raised platforms.
Tavaren, you recognize it as the platform that you were stood on when you were giving your speech only a few weeks ago before you were interred into this kind of metal suit.
But yeah, there only seems to be a couple of Majani kind of loitering around. And you can see this as you approach. You can see and smell this very heavily scented kind of smoky sensor smoke kind of wafting out of sensor burners, which you all know is quite on point for the ornation, but it's heavy enough that it largely kind of hugs the ground and kind of drifts out.
Drifts out sort of like in all directions.
So, Capable Tim, as you see these gathered crowds and you see the Il Nashi Majani kind of beginning the. The event, because it. That's what it's kind of touted as, you have a number of options. Are you assaulting, decepting, stealthing, arcaning or socialing?
[00:11:10] Speaker F: Context is cowards.
[00:11:14] Speaker A: So this influences, as I say, this is like your plan for that very first point of contact and then everything spins out from there.
[00:11:23] Speaker F: Well, I mean, given that it's a. It's a public event as far as I'm aware, I suppose let's just throw on some disguises, shall we, chaps?
[00:11:36] Speaker A: Okay, so we're taking a stealth assault, a steady approach. Sorry, not stuff at all. Where is everyone placed as Capable Tom leads you all into the start of the score.
So to paint you again, to paint you the picture, you're in the park to your right, like you're in the shadow of the ruined ruby keep.
In front of you, past the park is the.
The canal that wraps around Spire park some way off. Well, a little way off. Behind you are the. The buildings that make up Spire park proper.
So it's a relatively open space for now, but yeah. Where. Where is everyone plonked? Starting with Capable Tom. So if you're. So are you presumably in the crowd with a disguise on?
[00:12:32] Speaker F: Yes, I think so. I'm gonna be trying to edge my way towards wherever it looks like backstage preparations are being done.
[00:12:41] Speaker A: Sure. Okay. So in which case, fiends, are you joining Capable Tom? Are you kind of going into the crowd, main crowd proper?
[00:12:51] Speaker B: So. So did you say there is a like a backstage as a stage with like a coordinate off area or something? Sorry, I didn't.
[00:12:58] Speaker A: So there's a large gathered group of civilians. Yeah, there's a, like a bandstand style stand that Tar was once stood on giving her speech a while ago. So for example, backstage is quite simply the area behind that, away from the crowd.
[00:13:18] Speaker B: I. I would probably want to be more or less on the periphery of the crowd. Definitely. I wouldn't want to be in the middle of them. So, yeah, probably with Capable Tom then.
[00:13:27] Speaker A: Okay, so you're with Capable Tom. Where is.
Where's Lorenzo?
[00:13:34] Speaker D: Okay, so there's like an area which is like stage, like. Right, okay, so I Think Lorenzo is as if there's like public crowds that are sort of near where the entrance way to or like the barrier. If there are guards like guarding backstage, quote unquote, then he wants to have that in eyeshot but be with some of the locals as well. And he's sort of got his arms crossed and he's kind of tapping his foot and he's making a bit of a show of this and he's kind of muttering under his breath.
This is unscientific and I'm here to prove that this is not going to work. And he's just kind of.
He's doing a bit, I suppose.
[00:14:28] Speaker A: So he's being a negative Nelly in the crowds.
[00:14:31] Speaker D: He's being Lorenzo in the crowds.
But within a hop, skip and a jump of stage slash backstage.
[00:14:41] Speaker A: Okay, where's Roath?
[00:14:44] Speaker C: I think if there's some sort of vantage point, and I remember that is because Magpie was in a similar situation right at the beginning.
[00:14:52] Speaker B: I think there are rooftops within. Yeah.
[00:14:56] Speaker C: Roath I think would like to climb up. He's got this pair of sticky gloves that he uses to handle eels and he. I'm going to climb up to a vantage point and have a look. I have a telescope which I will be using to survey the square.
[00:15:15] Speaker A: Amazing. Amazing.
And where is Tevarian?
[00:15:21] Speaker E: Little bit of a flashback.
[00:15:23] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:15:24] Speaker E: Tevarien is gonna.
She's gonna tap capable Tom on the shoulder and.
[00:15:32] Speaker F: Hello.
[00:15:33] Speaker E: Oh, I'm sorry, dear. I didn't, I didn't mean to. To alarm you.
A grand plan I. I do believe, but I don't think this is gonna be covered up so easily in a disguise.
[00:15:50] Speaker F: There will be stalls, will they not?
[00:15:52] Speaker E: Stalls?
[00:15:54] Speaker F: Yes, you know, people. People hocking their wares and so forth. So we'll pop you in a cart, put a cover over you and just simply wheel you in. Hey.
[00:16:07] Speaker E: Yes, I do believe that would be a grand idea.
So, yes, I am in a cart.
[00:16:16] Speaker A: So hang on, are the disguises actually you're the cart like traders and you're.
[00:16:21] Speaker F: I think so, yeah. I think I have a large fake mistake star and I'm selling bread.
[00:16:30] Speaker A: Oh. I mean food stuffs in Lisa is very limited. Options are mushrooms, eels or rats that haven't eaten. You first.
[00:16:40] Speaker F: I'm selling unusual looking rocks.
[00:16:44] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Freshly procured from the burnt down cathedral over in Abbot's Gate. Clearly. Okay, so you've got your cart of rocks.
[00:16:56] Speaker F: Memory stone. Memory stone.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Okay. So this is actually the. The disguise. Another quick pass round. Starting with fiends. What weight loadout are you going for?
[00:17:11] Speaker B: I think I was tempted to go heavy because I feel like fiends would carry a lot of explosions, explosives on her, but I also don't want to draw too much attention. So should we go normal?
[00:17:21] Speaker A: Okay, so you're going normal.
What loadout for Lorenzo?
[00:17:28] Speaker D: I feel. I feel normal as well. I feel like a normal loadout. I don't feel normal. Generally.
[00:17:35] Speaker A: Normal loadout, please.
So bear in mind, as a keeper, your normal loadout can be like one higher than everyone else's roaf. What? What's he going with?
[00:17:47] Speaker C: Rice going heavy.
[00:17:51] Speaker E: And safarin gonna go medium, I think.
[00:17:55] Speaker A: Sure. I mean, sure you don't want to go heavy? I mean, she's about as inconspicuous, as conspicuous as she can get.
[00:18:01] Speaker E: Actually. Actually, yeah. Heavy.
[00:18:05] Speaker A: Okay. So heavy. And last on the least capable tomorrow. What loadout are you going for?
[00:18:10] Speaker F: Light, please.
[00:18:11] Speaker A: Light loadout. Okay. When it all goes wrong, you'll be the fastest away from the scene of the crime.
[00:18:18] Speaker F: That's how I've survived this long.
[00:18:19] Speaker A: Okay, so we will start the.
Yeah, the action roll.
So let's have a think about this.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: Can I revise my position? Because now that I know capable Tom is role playing with Tevarin, maybe I'm with Lorenzo in the crowd then.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:18:44] Speaker B: Trying to look as if I'm not totally strapped with a bandolier of bombs under my coat.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: So the way that this works, Tim, is that we start with a single dice for the engagement role. And this tells us, like, how well things are going right at the start.
So is the operation particularly bold or daring?
You know what? It's a finale. I'm gonna say it is. Does the. The plan's detail expose a vulnerability of the target or hit them where you're. They're weakest?
I'm gonna say there's a part of me that I don't think it's. Where are they? Is it a vulnerability?
[00:19:32] Speaker F: Oh, man. I didn't know I needed a good plan.
[00:19:35] Speaker A: Well, no, it's. I. I'm just trying to think because they're trying to get as many people in as they can.
I'm go. I'm gonna say it kind of evens out. So they're not, you know, they're not particularly expecting people not to turn up, but perhaps they notice that someone's trying to hawk memory stones at a remembrance.
They want to make sure all focuses on them, so that will even out. So we're still on two friends or contacts to provide aid or insight? Not at this moment. The Target is a target of a lower tier. No, the illness are the same tier as you. Now level three. Are there any district modifiers?
I'm going to, I'm gonna say there's no district modifiers, but because the city is a tinder box ready to ignite, I'm going to say that that is a precarious position to be in. So we're back down to a single dice.
[00:20:37] Speaker B: Why do you hate us so?
[00:20:38] Speaker A: Because it's fun. So Tim, on the left hand side of the screen, there is two dice at the bottom of your list of icons. If you open that up, you want to enter in a one dice and click Engagement and then roll that bone.
[00:20:56] Speaker B: Oh, singular.
Hey, not bad, not bad.
[00:21:03] Speaker A: Perfectly capable. So mixed results. You start a risky position. So Tavarian and Tom, you trundle in around the edge of this kind of gathered crowd that yeah, their numbers are good.
You says it looks like 50, 60 people. Like it's a surprisingly large cohort.
Fiends. And Lorenzo, you can see this kind of cart being pulled along by just by capable Tom, who's sweating profusely. And as the two of you glance up, you can just about see for a moment a glimmer from the lens of the telescope of Ro up on the rooftops to the south of the park.
And capable Tom, as you kind of wheel in, you're able to get sort of like you're coming around the side of this group towards kind of becoming level with the stage and the area behind it when a. A very small like young looking goblin boy, a youngish looking goblin boy walks up to you and he adjusts his hat for a moment and he, you. He says as he stops that stands in front of you. What's a memory stone?
[00:22:27] Speaker F: Oh, you can. You can rub it with your thumb and it will help you to bring back lovely memories of people you've lost.
[00:22:37] Speaker A: And this goblin frowns and then turns to a. Like a dark skinned lore of Ar man a little way back and here. Alejandro, have you ever heard of a memory stone?
[00:22:48] Speaker B: Oh no.
[00:22:49] Speaker A: And this somewhat, this rather attractive lore of our man steps forward alongside a red haired lore of our woman.
And he looks, looks down at the goblin, then looks to you, Tom. And I can't say I have. Is this a new, a new development?
[00:23:15] Speaker F: Yes, came up with it myself over many years.
[00:23:22] Speaker A: And this Laura Var man, Alejandro you believe his name to be, just nods. Are you. Were you summoned here by.
By the Majani? By the uni. He says, gesturing to the. There's. There's A couple of figures stood on the stage. And one of them, you notice, is kind of stepping forward and begins to sort of like clear her throat. Looks like she's about to start.
[00:23:50] Speaker F: Can't blame a man for wanting to make a, you know, a penny or two.
[00:23:55] Speaker A: Well, he's not wrong there, Alejandro. He's not wrong there, says the. Says the goblin. The Loreval woman leans in and whispers something into Alejandro's ear.
And Alejandro sort of like listens for a moment, nods. And if you don't mind holding here for a moment, I'll see if we can set you up.
If you're able to set up a vending shops, anything to help with people remembering their lost ones would be greatly appreciated. He says, let me. Let me just get that double checked first. And the trio peel away and begin sort of like walking over towards the Marni.
What. What do you all collectively do off the back of this?
[00:24:41] Speaker F: I mean, I think we're probably. Are we fine? Is this fine?
[00:24:51] Speaker C: Alejandro through the crowd with his telescope. And he goes.
[00:25:02] Speaker A: You've. You've spied Alejandro.
So are you purely just on sort of like observation duty? Have you got like, the gossipers?
[00:25:11] Speaker C: Do we want of it? I suppose that means taking away from.
[00:25:15] Speaker B: The main crew doesn't have it. Yeah.
This is the problem, isn't it?
[00:25:20] Speaker A: Or is Roath flying purely as a lone wolf?
[00:25:25] Speaker B: Roath knows what he's doing.
[00:25:26] Speaker E: Yeah, I think I would.
[00:25:27] Speaker C: I would like to talk to my other players, so I think we should.
[00:25:32] Speaker D: Fair enough.
[00:25:33] Speaker A: Sure.
Sure. Okay. So both you've. You're wearing one of the gossipers earrings. Who's got the other?
[00:25:43] Speaker B: Capable Tom, surely.
[00:25:45] Speaker F: I guess it makes sense if I'm leading it up. Yeah.
[00:25:47] Speaker A: Okay. So, capable Tom, you, earlier on you were gifted with this small pearl like earrings, like so Algernon the. The ace of our kind of leader of the crew, for as you understand it. And your new boss, you're told, handed one of these earrings to Roath and one of these earrings to you.
You're instructed to. To wear it. And you notice that whenever Roath speaks, you can hear him, as if Ruth is stood next to you. And you then in turn find out when you speak, Roath can hear you back.
So fundamentally, they are like walkie talkies, but only for you very, very specifically.
Yes. So as you ask, is this fine, Ro?
[00:26:38] Speaker F: Is this fine?
How are we looking, Ruth?
[00:26:44] Speaker C: You hear Rose humming a little tune to himself as he looks through the spyglass.
[00:26:55] Speaker A: Hmm.
[00:26:56] Speaker C: We'll find them up here. Some old friends of ours.
[00:27:00] Speaker A: Yes. You watch as Alejandro and the crew and his crew kind of wander behind the stage where there's a, you know, a couple of the kind of gathered around and spying the ones that they're talking to. Whereas the.
The Majani that are on the stage are clearly the ones that, you know, they're the. They're the soothsayers. They're the ones that are speaking to the crowds. But the ones behind the stage certainly look at distinctly more thuggish and bouncer like, if you will.
In fact, you think you've seen one of them as a bouncer at the Gold Pot or once upon a time.
Yeah. You notice this Laura Varman speaking to one of the major and sort of like gesturing towards Tom and Tarvarian in a. In a cart.
You, they. They speak for a while and then you notice that the two of them are like Alejandro & Co. And one of the major beginning to walk back over to capable Tom fiends. And Lorenzo, I mean Lorenzo, you're like a head taller than the rest of the crowd.
Yeah. You probably would also have seen this, this trio approach Tom, speak with him, walk back.
You can see that the Majani lady at the center of the stage, she lifts her hands and sort of like tries to. Is beginning to get the attention of the gathered crowds.
And you hear her shouting, thank you for coming. Thank you for coming. She says as she gestures a little bit more kind of widely to get more attention.
We, if you gather forward, come forward, we will begin momentarily. She says as she waves her hands towards the stage. And you watch as the crowd start to slowly begin to creep past you and kind of bunch together a bit more.
[00:29:06] Speaker B: Can. Can I. Can I call a flashback, please? I would like fiends to have found.
[00:29:14] Speaker A: A whole area to blow.
[00:29:16] Speaker B: Well, not the whole area, but like earlier, I feel as if she probably would have gone to the stage area and just set up a few very small explosives on like the prop legs of it, just to make. Just so that if needed, we could collapse the stage. Not actually kill anybody, not blow it up fully, but make the stage collapse if we wanted to disrupt the speech or something.
[00:29:40] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:29:40] Speaker B: Because I. I'm struggling to see what my place is here, if I not allowed to simply blow up the whole place. Because that would get the job done.
[00:29:51] Speaker A: Right?
[00:29:51] Speaker D: I understand atta's problem now.
[00:29:54] Speaker B: Yes, 100 do. So I feel as if I would have done something. What does it cost to call a flashback like that in terms of.
[00:30:05] Speaker A: So I'm going to say because you. Because this was all Being set up relatively, like quickly by the illness and, you know, the Onatia all over this, it somewhat easier because you yourself are a Majani. So you were sort of snuck in.
[00:30:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:30:28] Speaker A: Just not looked anyone in the eye and just pretended to be someone else's second cousin.
[00:30:33] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:30:34] Speaker A: So. But I will say that it's still a six. As a six stress. A two stress.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: I was about to say naff off.
[00:30:43] Speaker A: It was too stressed to get the. Okay, that's explosive set up and that will now allow you to fundamentally press the button and roll a wreck for all.
[00:30:55] Speaker D: Exactly, yeah.
[00:30:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:30:57] Speaker B: So you just give me the signal, people.
[00:31:00] Speaker D: Give me the signal.
[00:31:01] Speaker A: So Lorenzo, I can only imagine that fiends is starting to bounce slightly just on the balls of her heels.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: Is it time yet? Is it time yet?
[00:31:10] Speaker D: I mean, reckon it's time yet.
[00:31:13] Speaker B: She's about to start talking. Must be time.
[00:31:16] Speaker D: I feel like Lorenzo is ignoring fiends.
I'm channeling Lorenzo's energy. He's ignoring fiends and he's talking in his own manner. He's pushed himself to the front of the crowd because he's somewhat invested in the scientific, medical nonsense of it all, and he really wants to disprove it. So his thing is he wants to try and mess with the whole event, essentially from that perspective. So he's right at the front and he's kind of like fiends, just be quiet. Let's see what they have to say. And, well, kind of. Maybe you'll get to do something, but Brilliant.
[00:32:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:32:01] Speaker D: I mean, it seems like such nonsense. It's just like, yeah. Projecting Lorenzo nurse.
[00:32:12] Speaker A: Her hands raised high. The illnesse soothsayer on the stage begins.
For over two years, we have been lost in the void. While most of us have endured, there are many we have lost along the way.
We can honor them still, even in death. And we have found that through fervent thought, we can remember them better. And as she says that, you notice the sensor burners that are kind of placed around, like around the stage or sort of scattered throughout the crowd.
They all, like. They look like large golden orbs with sort of like circular indents in them. But you notice as members of the crowd, you kind of realize probably aren't members of the crowd. They lean down and like slide the top halves of these orbs round. And so the circular indents are now holes. And this thick pink smoke begins to waft out in place of the scented kind of mists that was originally there.
And as this smoke wafts out and It's a lot lighter, so it's kind of drifting up a bit. You hear kind of gasps and sounds of surprise from the. From the crowd as they are kind of washed over by this pink smoke.
And Lorenzo, you pause and look at it for a little bit, and you notice that the smoke is almost glittery in a way, as the purple light from overhead kind of refracts through it. And yeah, this Medjani lady breathe deep the fumes, your memories will be much more vivid for it, she says.
As this happens, Roaf, you've seen that there's a smoke, like pink smoke starting to drift out through the crowds. You can see that.
Why I'm. Would you know who this Laura Var man, this lore of our woman and this goblin are that have stopped Tom?
Do we imagine AT has told Roaf?
[00:34:43] Speaker C: Yeah, Like, I think Roaf knows who they are and have maybe come into contact with at least. Alejandro.
[00:34:50] Speaker A: Sure, sure, sure, sure. In which case, yes, you. You've absolutely recognized this man as. Yeah. Alejandro at. As the leader of Atas's old crew.
Yeah. Alejandro and company, along with this kind of Majani bouncer, this Il bouncer arrive back at the cart with Tarian and capable Tom and Tom, as they approach, this Majani steps forward and sort of looks you up and down. And he's bedecked with this gold jewelry. His clothes are fine and well fitted with this kind of golden embroidery he's got. You can't help but fixate a little bit on the ludicrously large gold nose ring that he's got that the hoop of which extends down past his chin.
I'm told that you want to sell some of your wares.
He says.
[00:35:53] Speaker F: That's right, sir. Just some. Some memory stones.
[00:35:57] Speaker A: He looks to you. Show me.
[00:36:01] Speaker F: So, presumably I've got, like, a couple of buckets of rocks that are just the nicest ones that we could find in the limited time we had available.
[00:36:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:36:14] Speaker F: So, yeah.
Here you are, sir.
Finest memory stones.
[00:36:20] Speaker A: Okay. As you hand over this rock, I'm gonna ask for some sort of role.
I mean, this is sounding a bit swayy, but you can absolutely tell me if you're trying something else instead.
[00:36:33] Speaker F: I think probably sway. Yeah. I'm. I just want to give the appearance that. I mean, at worst, I'm just a slightly sketchy merchant.
[00:36:45] Speaker E: Would you like to help him?
[00:36:47] Speaker F: Huh?
[00:36:48] Speaker E: Would you like some help?
[00:36:50] Speaker F: I mean, if you've got a way of doing that. But.
[00:36:53] Speaker E: So basically, we can either greater the effect or we can increase your dice so we can give you an extra dice. If I take a. Well, not even stress now. I take drain.
[00:37:04] Speaker F: How would you help me?
[00:37:05] Speaker E: Maybe I helped you pick some really nice stones.
[00:37:13] Speaker F: Maybe you've got a little ghost magic in them. That might help.
[00:37:16] Speaker E: Yeah, I. I've. I've been able to do something. I put glitter on them or something along those lines. You put them in the carton and I put. I rubbed, like, glitter on them to make them extra nice, I think.
[00:37:27] Speaker F: Save your drain, to be honest.
[00:37:29] Speaker E: You sure?
[00:37:30] Speaker F: Yeah, we'll be all right.
[00:37:31] Speaker E: All right.
[00:37:32] Speaker A: You can also say you're at risky standard. You can also increase the risk up to desperate in exchange for increasing the payoff as well. So you can, for free, go from risky standards to desperate. Great. And that's effectively you like going broke. Going for broke. And. Really?
[00:37:53] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, for sure. Let's push it.
[00:37:55] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:37:57] Speaker A: Okay, so we're starting off with a risky grater.
[00:38:00] Speaker E: I have got a lot of drain. I can help. I can still help.
[00:38:03] Speaker F: Now we're good. We're good.
[00:38:04] Speaker E: All right.
[00:38:05] Speaker A: All right.
[00:38:05] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh.
[00:38:06] Speaker F: Do you not think me capable?
[00:38:10] Speaker A: So if you're starting with a. If you.
[00:38:13] Speaker F: If you'll feel the magic.
[00:38:18] Speaker A: You hear the most hammy sales pitch voice come out of capable Tom as he tries to hawk a rock to the Ill N.
So because you are a daredevil, capable Tom, you get plus one dice when you make desperate actions.
So, yeah, if you click on the word sway on your character sheet, and then it's a plus one dice, because desperate, great. Yeah, desperate. And then, yeah, desperate great. The. See what happens.
[00:38:49] Speaker F: Yeah. Oh, no.
[00:38:51] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:38:52] Speaker F: I'm capable. I can roll the dice.
[00:38:55] Speaker A: He's capable. So tell you what we can do. If you click on sway again, but then this time, just no extra dice.
Desperate, great. And then it will just roll. Roll that out.
[00:39:06] Speaker B: Oh, no.
Not capable enough.
[00:39:12] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:39:14] Speaker F: I regret my choices.
[00:39:17] Speaker A: So Tavarian, you hear, you're listening to this.
This sales pitch, and Ro. You swat. You watch as this Majani takes this. It's literally a rock with, like, some glitteriness on it.
And then there's a moment where he just slowly looks up to capable Tom and drops the rock on the ground.
And I'm gonna say you'll lose this opportunity as the. The Medjani discards this rock to the ground.
And I appreciate a good. I appreciate a good hustle, but this is borderline insulting. Be gone, he says, and kind of turns you away quite loudly and publicly.
So you can resist if you would like. So in terms of the resist. This will be a resolve. Resist, because it's off the social thing. Okay, but if you want to resist, then he might.
So he'll send you away, but he won't, like. He won't completely banish you from the area. He just kind of stops you from hawking your wares, and he'll keep an eye on you instead.
[00:40:42] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, I'll try and resist then.
[00:40:43] Speaker A: Okay, so on your character sheet, if you roll a resolve, he'll beat me.
[00:40:48] Speaker F: If I don't stay.
[00:40:51] Speaker A: So if you roll me a resolve, and because of your daredevil, we're gonna have to do a minus one modifier to this role.
[00:41:02] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, off the back of your daredevil. Sweet. All right.
Oh, thank Christ.
[00:41:10] Speaker A: Okay, so you suffer one stress. And as he begotten, he says, this majority man says, when you inform him, but the boss will beat me.
And he looks into your deep set, like, deep pitted eyes.
The Majani, like, goes to say something, and then he turns around, as he's called by one of the other illnessi.
And then he. The Majani kind of steps away, instructs the three others, the two lore of our and the goblin, to kind of keep an eye on you, and then he leaves. So, yeah, you've not been thrown out, but you are now under, like, surveillance, if you will.
Okay, so, Roaf, you've seen all of this. Who. Who wants to jump in as operation capable Tom?
His operation Glittery Rocks has hit the rocks.
[00:42:13] Speaker B: Now. Should I do it now? Right now they're giving. They're giving Tom a hard time while I'm.
[00:42:20] Speaker F: I'm just there, and I'm like, boy, I'm really blowing this.
[00:42:29] Speaker C: Tom.
[00:42:30] Speaker F: This has really blown up in my face.
[00:42:35] Speaker A: Tom, you hear Rose, you hear roach voice in your ear, call your name.
[00:42:40] Speaker F: Oh, hello.
[00:42:42] Speaker C: Give the earring to Alejandro.
[00:42:46] Speaker F: What's an Alejandro?
[00:42:48] Speaker C: That beauty. Beautiful, beautiful man.
[00:42:52] Speaker F: Oh, the beautiful.
[00:42:53] Speaker A: I'm an Alejandro, says the lord of iron. Fond of you. How did you know my name?
[00:43:00] Speaker F: Lucky guess.
[00:43:05] Speaker C: Give him your. Give him the pearl earring.
[00:43:07] Speaker F: Give him the earring.
[00:43:09] Speaker A: Alejandro takes it and.
Thank you.
And he doesn't seem to know quite what to do with it. Are you gesturing to. For him to put it on, presumably?
[00:43:22] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:43:23] Speaker A: Okay, Alejandro.
Well, I don't really think it suits as he kind of takes out the earring he's already got in, but he. As he kind of puts it in and it kind of dangles down and bobs a little bit. The little goblin.
Yeah, Suture, he said. He chuckles like A little gremlin. And Alejandro, sort of like as it. As he feels the weight of it on his ear. Like, his eyebrows raise and he thinks he kind of swishes it around a little bit. Oh, actually.
[00:43:56] Speaker C: Bell, you old bastard.
And you handsome devil.
[00:44:02] Speaker A: And he immediately freezes as he hears a voice he has not heard of, heard from for a long time. And like, he looks around frantically and he looks to you, Tom. But what's happening?
[00:44:20] Speaker C: Both stay calm. I didn't think I'd see your pretty face again.
[00:44:25] Speaker A: What? Why. Why can I. Where are you invisible? Why can I hear you?
[00:44:30] Speaker C: Don't worry about that.
Listen, my friend the rock salesman needs to get into this event, and you're gonna help us. Okay.
[00:44:41] Speaker A: Well, I'm sure there's a very good reason, but as you. I need you to understand that I have been explicitly asked by some of the ornation that Are you. What ability are you rolling on him?
[00:44:58] Speaker C: I have a very good reason for you right here. I'm looking at your sweet cheeks through the scope of my high powered hunting rifle.
Of course, I can always. I can always switch my focus to Grubbins or Lucille.
[00:45:17] Speaker A: He, like Tom, you watch as the color drains from this man's. The man in front of you drains from his face. And he.
As he looks around and then Alejandro finally sort of like turns and begins scanning the rooftops of the buildings.
You notice Roaf. That, like, he initially. He looks up into the ruins of the keep and then quickly looks away towards the buildings where you are.
And then he spies you and. Have you caught?
Have you?
[00:45:56] Speaker C: Yeah, we. We flash back to a few seconds ago, as soon as that pink smoke started coming out.
Roath gets his hunting rifle out from a bag, gives a little kiss, and attaches the spyglass to it.
[00:46:12] Speaker A: Okay. Yes. You amp up the pressure to make.
[00:46:17] Speaker F: The bolt just to jump in. While he's scanning the rooftops. Can I take that opportunity to just slip into the crowd, quietly step away from the scene?
[00:46:36] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. I mean, so the three of them, I guess, will be somewhat distracted.
I mean. Okay.
Okay. So first things first. We'll get r. Done.
[00:46:47] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:46:48] Speaker A: So, Ro.
Yeah? What are you. What are you. Are you commanding, presumably? Command. You're commanding. Okay, roll me a command.
I'm gonna say this is. I'm gonna start you on a risky greater simply because Alejandro is not particularly jazzed about being held at sniper harpoon point and devil's bargain.
Regardless of what happens, someone in the crowd notices you, like, trained with a weapon.
[00:47:27] Speaker C: Okay, I'll take it okay.
[00:47:30] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
So what are we. What are we looking like?
[00:47:35] Speaker C: Is that another plus one dice to give. Make me make it two.
[00:47:40] Speaker A: Correct. Yep.
[00:47:41] Speaker C: Risk. Risky. Great.
[00:47:42] Speaker A: Risky. Great.
Okay. You do it. But there's a consequence. You suffer harm or consequently application occurs, you have reduced effect. You end up in a desperate position.
You hear through the gospel's earring. Roaf. Now, now, there's. There's no need for. There's no need for any. He's not raising his hands. There's no need for any brash action here. Ro. We. We've always been on somewhat good terms as he. As all attention is kind of trained on your spot. Ro. From the three of them.
Tom, by all means, roll me. If you're trying to sneak away. I'm guessing that's a prowl.
Say, I'm going to call this a. I'm gonna start. I'm gonna start you on a risky lesser because you're being watched. So for free, you can switch up to a desperate standard and you can push yourself for an extra dice or an extra extra result like effect level.
[00:48:50] Speaker F: I think I'm all right with. With just risky limited. To be honest. I think that's fine.
[00:48:55] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. In which case. So no extra dice. Well, do you want to switch it for free to desperate standard?
[00:49:02] Speaker F: I guess it doesn't really hurt, does it? Yeah, why not? Let's do it.
[00:49:06] Speaker A: So this is a two dice base. Desperate standard. Prowl.
[00:49:10] Speaker F: One in four. Being my daredevil self.
[00:49:16] Speaker A: Good.
[00:49:17] Speaker B: Oh, no.
You jinxed it. Calling him Tom.
[00:49:22] Speaker D: Yeah, we need to.
[00:49:23] Speaker F: I'm so incapable.
[00:49:28] Speaker A: You got a roll. We've got a. So if you re. Click prowl. But this time do minus one desperate standard. It'll just roll the one dice.
[00:49:39] Speaker F: For God's sake. Come on, Tom.
[00:49:45] Speaker B: He is capable.
[00:49:46] Speaker F: He's capable.
[00:49:48] Speaker A: Roaf from your rooftop. You. You've got your sights a de Alejandro. And then an eyebrow raises over the end of the scope as you just see Tom. So I look around at the. Like everyone's attention's turned away and he just bolts like greased lightning into the crowd, leaving Tarian in the cart off the back. So capable Tom has made it into the crowd. Ro. You've got the permanent gunpoint. I haven't rolled out your complication because as this, you notice this smoke is kind of getting thicker and thicker amongst the crowds.
And you open your other eye for a moment to get a bit more peripheral vision and you notice small moats of like, bluish whitish light beginning to materialize above the crowd.
And Lorenzo, you're stood in the middle. You're able to get enough of the waft to realize, oh, this is.
This is trance powder.
[00:51:08] Speaker D: Can I maybe I want to try and do a flashback. It's quite complicated, so can you bear with me and we'll see where it goes?
[00:51:16] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:51:18] Speaker D: Okay.
Can we flash back to like the B team meeting each other and kind of trying to figure out how they're progressing, preparing this. And I think in amongst all of the various, I want to make blow something up. How about we sell magic rocks? Let's just make sure everybody's okay. From Tevarin and Roath. Just like polishing a gun in the corner.
I think Lorenzo is kind of just tapping their fingers and they kind of throw their hands up at one point and go, right. Well, they're going to make a spectacle. Spectacle of it. How about we make even more of a spectacle?
So perhaps I can distill an amount of a certain substance that I find particularly useful. And I've noticed that they're preparing these sensors to disperse as vapor like substance. So perhaps we can, ahead of time, spike that vapor substance, maybe just so that it doesn't happen immediately, but maybe a little bit later, a delay.
And perhaps one of us, maybe you capable Tom, if you just kind of glittering some rocks. If you come up, come up on stage with me. And what we'll try and do is we'll try and do a performance of this memory, this horrible idea of. Of coming up with memories and remembering your loved ones. And at that point, what we'll do is we'll show the dire consequences that can happen when you remember your loved ones and disperse the paralysis powder throughout the sensors. How about that, everyone?
[00:53:04] Speaker A: So you're swapping the trance powder. No, wait, so you're. So the sensor burners are now a concoction of trance powder, Delayed onset paralysis powder.
[00:53:17] Speaker D: Yeah. So I imagine that the flashback might require like in a tinker roll to see if Lorenzo can manufacture a certain amount of paralysis potion, paralysis poison, and then maybe some kind of way of sneaking it in. But then before it kind of disperses, I want to try and get on stage with perhaps capable Tom, if he is indeed willing to be an actor and kind of make a. This is what happens when you try and remember your loved ones. It's a dangerous thing to do. So. And then sort of have it timed where everybody suddenly goes into paralysis.
[00:53:56] Speaker F: I've done a little acting my time.
[00:54:00] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:54:01] Speaker F: Do you happen to have some antidote for when we are all showered in paralyzing powder.
[00:54:10] Speaker D: It's temporary. You won't be negatively affected.
Terms and conditions apply.
[00:54:16] Speaker F: I'm a little concerned I might be negative affected.
[00:54:19] Speaker D: Laurenta, you'll be quite. You'll be quite fine in two. Two hours to three days.
[00:54:30] Speaker E: Tavarian's gonna speak up.
I mean that's.
[00:54:37] Speaker A: That's a.
[00:54:38] Speaker E: That's a lovely plan, dear.
May I suggest something else?
[00:54:46] Speaker D: Sure.
How much paralysis is in your plan?
[00:54:51] Speaker E: Well, I mean the paralysis might help for those who are less likely to cooperate, let's say. But I believe that the people of Alesia need to know. They need to know what's happening to them. They need to know what the illnessia planning. Obviously not all of what's happening with what we plan to do with the heart of Alicia. They don't need to know about that because then all.
Then maybe that will. You know, it will ruin the plan for the. For the rest of the. For the rest of our team.
But the people of Alicia need to know. They need to know what these are. They need to know the dangers.
And they've been kept in the dark for way too long.
Maybe a. And I mean the dance sounds nice. Don't get me wrong. I do like a good dance. But maybe it's.
Maybe it's just time we let them know.
[00:56:00] Speaker F: Yes. Perhaps we. If we can get onto the stage, we can.
Can tell them what's happening and.
Well, with the trance powder, we need a replacement.
Have a lot of glitter.
[00:56:16] Speaker A: Okay, so.
[00:56:18] Speaker D: And a little bit of paralysis.
[00:56:26] Speaker A: Are we.
I mean you. You wonder if perhaps the paralysis. Mixing the paralysis with the transpile there but might begin to sort of like can the effects might. Might cancel each other out whereas one heightens and one sluggins.
I mean there's. I suppose there's that. That idea.
Who. Whose flashback are we going with right now?
[00:56:53] Speaker D: Because it sounds like in the flashbacks flashback. I feel like Lorenzo would kind of eventually after much like cajoling kind of go okay, then perhaps the pro paralysis powder can merely like stave off the effects of any kind of effect that the illnessy are planning to support the spirit. So I think Lorenzo's flashback is concocting so we have more time that now we know that it's transpowder. It's maybe not taking as much of effect.
[00:57:25] Speaker A: Okay, so if Lorenzo is doing that, I will charge him also like two stress similar to. To fiends to sort that out and to Varian. We've kind of got an idea that there'll be like a public warning.
So Lorenzo so Back in the present, Lorenzo and fiends, you can see the smoke is kind of wafting over.
Wafting over the crowd.
You, especially you, Lorenzo, you realize that it's actually. Lorenzo, roll me a tinker.
[00:58:07] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:58:08] Speaker A: To see how the concoction goes down.
I'm gonna start you on a risky standard.
[00:58:18] Speaker D: Okay. I'm gonna put pushing. You always have to remind pushing self is too. Right.
[00:58:22] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:58:23] Speaker D: Distress. Okay, cool, cool, cool. Let's. Let's do a little. A little push. A little push. We're going to get one more dice because wreck is what old tinker is.
Let's not do an extra dice. Let's try for a greater effect.
Go, Lorenzo, go. Oh, it's partial.
[00:58:45] Speaker A: It's a partial. It's a partial. Okay, so you do it. There's a consequence.
Okay, so it does work. It does have the effect you expected it to. The. The trans powder is offset by the paralysis. So people like, are feeling a little bit kind of woozy, but they're not ascending into those euphoric highs like you've seen like. Like you've seen Catherine do. Just when he thinks no one's looking.
But you notice as this kind of sensor smoke, this pink sensor smoke is wafting out, the Majani on the ornation on the stage are looking around and they're noticing that something is wrong.
And as they.
Because presumably they weren't expecting the smoke to be billing me out to be pink.
I'm going to switch you all into a desperate position as the.
As the soothsayer on the stage, like, as the. The crowd, like the smoke was over them. She raises her. Her hands like a loft. And this. The smoke will. The smoke will conjure all sorts of images into your mind. And you must remember to focus exclusively on your loved ones, regardless of everything you see. You. You may even see apparitions you had not thought of emerging, but blot them out and focus just on yours and fiends. You look around and you see these motes of light are getting bigger and bigger.
But you also notice that motes of light are appearing above the in Ilnaishi, kind of dotted around the stage.
And they have their eyes closed. As these spirits begin to manifest above their heads, you hear ripples of panic through the crowd as these memories are conjured seemingly from the Ilni themselves.
But as these creatures, like, appear before, like they float for a moment in kind of confusion. But before they do anything, you notice that the Ilna that have seemingly summoning these memory ghosts, there's a series of intricate Hand symbols. And then they look as if they've just grabbed onto some invisible chains holding onto these spirits.
And as these ghosts begin to kind of float over the crowd, and you can hear people shouting and, like, screaming in panic, the soothsayer is. Focus your minds. Focus your minds, she says, as the moes begin to get brighter and brighter.
[01:01:42] Speaker E: I would like to do a flashback, please.
[01:01:45] Speaker A: If I. You would like to do a flashback? Yes.
[01:01:46] Speaker E: Unless there was something very key to do.
[01:01:50] Speaker A: Well, so it looks like the oni themselves are summoning spirits and trying to.
Yeah. Escalate and accelerate the process of thinking real hard about dead ones.
[01:02:04] Speaker E: Okay, I would like to do a flashback, and I would like to talk to Atta.
[01:02:09] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:13] Speaker D: What's up, Tavaria.
[01:02:17] Speaker E: My dear? Just the person I need to speak with you. You know how we amplified my voice at the. At the execution? Do you remember?
[01:02:26] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, it was.
Yeah.
[01:02:30] Speaker E: Can we. Can we do that again, but much bigger?
[01:02:35] Speaker B: Bigger?
[01:02:36] Speaker D: I mean, I suppose if we had the components needed to amplify. Yeah, I imagine so. I roll a tinker for attract.
[01:02:49] Speaker A: No, no, it's fine. If. If that's. If that's a plan, your attic can. Can kind of reconnect you up to the voice box.
Cool.
So in which case, yeah, back in the present, Tavare, and you can hear people screaming and panicking, like you've got this tarp over your head. So you're not entirely sure what it is that's happening, but it sounds like something is. Is going. Is going on.
[01:03:12] Speaker E: Okay. I think from the screaming, she is going to burst out from the. She's. She knows that shit's going down now. She's going to burst out from the. From the cart and she's going to shout out. She is shouting out, people of Alicia, please listen to me. Do not listen to those on the stage. They.
They are getting you to produce memories. Memories of your fallen loved ones, memories of those you miss. But these. These are. They're lethal.
The ghosts outside the veil, they are not ghosts. They are memories. They are.
She's gonna go on. Sorry.
[01:03:59] Speaker A: Which stat are you using? And that sounds quite swayy.
[01:04:02] Speaker E: I feel like that's more of a.
[01:04:03] Speaker A: Command if you're commanding them.
[01:04:06] Speaker E: Yeah, I want to command them to stop thinking.
[01:04:10] Speaker A: Stop thinking about your loved ones, thinking about them. I will start you on because you've used the voice amplification. I will use that to kind of counter out the. The sounds of us, the panic screaming and the size of the crowd and whatnot. I'm going to start you on a desperate standard.
[01:04:29] Speaker E: Standard. Okay. I'm going to push myself.
[01:04:34] Speaker A: Okay. Regardless of what happens, the Ilna, she immediately retaliate.
[01:04:47] Speaker E: Yes.
[01:04:49] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:04:50] Speaker D: Yes.
[01:04:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:04:52] Speaker E: So I'm gonna boost it up to a desperate break with that devil's bargain.
I'm going to then do an extra dice or to drain.
[01:05:05] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
Robo.
[01:05:12] Speaker B: Oh, five. Not bad, not bad.
[01:05:14] Speaker A: Partial success. Okay, so. So Tarian Ro just on his rooftop watching this all suddenly, like, go nuts.
So you've just watched capable Tom just book it into. Into the crowd, presumably at the behest of Lorenzo's plan to sort of, like, sort things out with the. The sense of Baronism and whatnot. And the tarp has just kind of like, flown off and Tarvarian has stood bolt upright. And then your people of least. Yeah. She shouts out with this sonorous booming voice amplified through. Through the suit.
The. Yeah. There are ghosts appear, like memory ghosts appearing over the crowd. People are starting to panic from where you're sat. You also notice that as people are trying to leave, there are. There are presumably, there are Majani like Ilna on the edges of the crowds, effectively turning them back and pushing them back into the throng just to keep the crowd contained.
And, yeah, you're watching. You're watching all this.
And so you do it. So Tavare, you manage to grab the attention of the crowd, but not all of them. So, like, some people are looking over in. Yeah, you. You. You know, Tom fiends Lorenzo through the crowd. You can hear. It's. It's. I think that's Taran. I think that's. Who's that? Oh. Oh, it's a monster.
And like, you can see people kind of looking over. The moats of light above their heads are beginning to fizzle away as they stop kind of really thinking about their lost ones as they're distracted by Tarian and Tavarian. As you sort of give this long speech and you try to go to explain what the nature of the memory goes. Their conjuring is.
You.
This is all a plan. They're simply just.
And then Tarvarium freezes and Roo peer and wonder what's happening. You see Tarvarian's hands like, arch. It looks like for a moment she starts to thrash a little bit as if she's struggling, as if she's being held.
And Tarvarian. You feel this other. This force, this external force kind of seemingly envelop you, and you feel as if someone's trying to control the pursuit instead of you can I Wonder if they're. That someone's trying to interact, like, control you as a spirit. Yes.
[01:08:09] Speaker B: Can I do my thing now to blow things up? Yeah. I mean, is. Is Tarvarian quite close to the stage?
[01:08:17] Speaker A: I suppose Tarian is in a cart. Yeah, I suppose. Yeah. She would be near the edge of the cart.
[01:08:23] Speaker B: I'm not murdering anyone right now. I'm just collapsing the stage. And I'm using my ghost ward ability because I Essentially, the bombs, the mini bombs I'm using to collapse the stage are laced with arcane substances which are anathema to spirits.
[01:08:41] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[01:08:43] Speaker B: So I go ping on my button, my remote detonator, and then the whole. The stage.
[01:08:48] Speaker A: Just.
[01:08:51] Speaker F: As you do that. I just finished shouldering my way through the crowd, and I'm like, now would be. Oh, great.
[01:08:59] Speaker A: Damn it.
Roll me a tinker.
[01:09:04] Speaker B: Is that a tinker? Yeah, not a wreck.
Either's all right with me.
[01:09:09] Speaker A: It's fine. So we'll start you on a desperate standard desperate stand.
[01:09:17] Speaker B: Okay. Can I push myself, please?
[01:09:20] Speaker A: You absolutely can.
[01:09:22] Speaker D: Right.
[01:09:23] Speaker A: And regardless of what happens, you've discovered that you are more susceptible to this smoky concoction than Lorenzo had bargained for.
[01:09:38] Speaker B: To that I say get wrecked.
[01:09:43] Speaker A: Yay. Okay, so you watch. It's like Tarian is kind of frozen in. In space, and it looks like she's straining and struggling against someone. And you. You worry that someone's trying to control her using arcane methods. You've also. You can also see that fiends has noticed this. Fiends. You see this through the crowd as suddenly just stops her, like, her speech, her big speech. And then realizing that this is it. As you activate the activation rune, there's what, four little.
Like, quite. Quite small little explosives.
[01:10:24] Speaker D: Diddy.
[01:10:25] Speaker B: Explosives that just take out the stage. Yeah.
[01:10:27] Speaker A: Okay. From under, you see, like, they explode just right. And. And you watch as, like, the three ill Ni on the. On the stage at the front of the crowd suddenly, like, drop as their floor underneath them kind of falls away.
And as they do, and they kind of. They hit the dirt and spill out into the crowd.
The spirits that they were kind of wrangling suddenly look as if they've been released. And then they start looking around at the crowd as they go down and go to kind of wrap their wispy fingers around the necks of the Majani. They then start to their shoulders, come up as if, and their hands come to their ears, and with this unearthly screech, the two spirits then kind of blow away from the stage as the arcane after effects of your explosions wards that area against spirits.
[01:11:31] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[01:11:32] Speaker B: It's the evil memories. She was right. Temarion was right.
[01:11:38] Speaker C: I would like to use this opportunity to scan the skyline where Alejandro was looking. When I mentioned that there was a gun trained on him, he seemed to be looking up into the key or another. Yeah, building. I want to see if there's another person on the rooftops.
[01:11:55] Speaker A: Okay. If you're scanning the horizon, that sounds like hunting. A hunting.
Nice.
[01:12:03] Speaker F: Not a survey.
[01:12:05] Speaker A: Hunting or survey. I. I'm happy with either. I don't think we've ever had a proper hunt roll though. So let's go.
Just track your.
So, yeah, I will start this again. Everything's on a.
Everything's a bit desperate right now because a lot has happened in a very short space of time. So we'll start you on a desperate standard.
I can think up a devil's bargain if you would like it, but if you don't, I don't have to think about it.
[01:12:34] Speaker C: Let's just go with desperate standard for now, I think with my three pips.
[01:12:39] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[01:12:43] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[01:12:45] Speaker A: You do it. But there's a consequence.
So you scan like where Alejandro was looking. And he was looking specifically up into the ruins of the keep, of the Ruby Keep. And you notice through sort of like the sh. A part of the wall that is shattered away.
The a. There's a chunk of wall and window that's only still in place because it's kind of entwined by the. The charred vines that are propping the. You know, what's left of the keep up.
But you recognize. You spot a somewhat hunched over figure that's quite slight in build, with kind of long white, black, purple, flowing rose with a lot of gold ornamentation, a hood that comes up over her head and come down to her forehead.
And she seems to be almost like leaning over the edge of the keep, like, precipice looking down into Union Park.
You recognize this lady to be.
Oh, Lady Null.
[01:14:05] Speaker F: Lady Noel.
[01:14:08] Speaker A: And as you spy the. The lead, like the matriarch of the Illnessi family, you can see like her mouth is incanting something and her hands are sort of like. It looks as if she's entwining, like she's creating some sort of intricate string pattern between her fingers. And you recognize that she is looking directly at Tarian.
Oh, no. And Tarian begins to like, lift up off the. Off the. The cart and begin floating in the air.
As you notice that off the back of an earlier devil's bargain, a Window of the rooftop that you're on opens and an on pokes their head out. And there you are, he says, and this is the Onishi that noticed you earlier and has moved up to intersection.
[01:15:16] Speaker C: Okay, amazing.
[01:15:20] Speaker A: So, Ruth, what do you do?
[01:15:22] Speaker C: So I have found Lady Knull in my sights and I'm. I'm about to potentially pull the trigger and prevent her from casting the spell onto Varian.
And I hear the window open behind me and I keep my long distance harpoon rifle exactly where it is, give it a little smooch, and I stand up and I remove my coat. Underneath I'm wearing just a skin tight eel skin wetsuit that leaves little to imagination.
And I pull out like a large Bowie knife, a hunting knife.
And I turn around, turn around to face this illness.
[01:16:15] Speaker A: Your ealing knife that you use to skin all the eels for your wetsuit.
Okay.
In. Yeah. In which case, sort like this illness pulls himself out the window onto the slanted roof that you. The two you are on.
As you produce your, like your knife, the Unai, she kind of reaches behind and from. From his belt, draws like a blade that curves almost 90 degrees away from his palm, affixed to what almost looks like a set of jeweled knuckle dusters.
And like he drops into a very low position and sort of like prepares for you.
Are you, are you striking first? Like, how are you engaging? How are you starting this, this knife fight?
[01:17:05] Speaker C: Have you ever wrestled with an eel?
They're slippery bastards and even if you can get hold of them, they'll cut you up.
[01:17:16] Speaker A: The sort of like doesn't expect the eel as the, the fearsome animal of choice, but he's never met Roath. Yeah. What. What are you rolling out?
[01:17:31] Speaker C: I'm going to have a bit of a skirmish with this fellowship.
[01:17:36] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:17:38] Speaker B: Gentle skirmish.
[01:17:39] Speaker A: So the two of you are on a. I mean, I'm expecting, because this is wire park, you're probably about 30ft up on the, on this roof. Rooftop. So I'm gonna start you on a desperate standard because the two of you, you are part of a tier three crew. He is part of a tier three crew. You are somewhat evenly matched. Your knife is arguably bigger, though.
[01:18:04] Speaker C: My eyes are up here.
You said desperate standard to start.
[01:18:11] Speaker A: Desperate standard to start. Yes. Absolutely.
[01:18:14] Speaker C: Cool. I'm gonna, I'm gonna push myself, get some more advice or maybe get some sweet dice.
[01:18:21] Speaker B: Go on.
[01:18:21] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[01:18:24] Speaker A: Regardless of what happens, you lose your footing and you fall to a lower level, but not necessary. You fall onto a lower balcony, not necessarily the floor you slip from your vantage.
[01:18:42] Speaker C: Okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna go. Great.
And is it too stressed to push yourself?
[01:18:56] Speaker A: Okay. Look at JC not knowing how much stress it costs to push themselves. Thanks, Algon.
What's that? I can push for free.
[01:19:10] Speaker F: Oh man. Should I been taking stress when I was pushing before?
[01:19:13] Speaker B: Uhoh.
[01:19:14] Speaker A: Oh yeah, a little bit too.
[01:19:16] Speaker F: No.
[01:19:19] Speaker A: Oh yeah. Your stress is much higher now.
[01:19:22] Speaker F: Tom's just standing in the crowd and he's like, oh no.
[01:19:27] Speaker C: Just realized post traumatic strength.
[01:19:31] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:19:33] Speaker C: I'm actually, I'm gonna keep it at desperate standard and go for another dice with the devil's bargain. So that's plus two.
[01:19:39] Speaker A: Okay. Giving me a four dice skirmish.
[01:19:42] Speaker C: Okay, five.
[01:19:46] Speaker A: Okay, you do it. But there's a consequence.
So describe to me how this all goes down as you do it.
[01:19:58] Speaker C: So Roath waits for the Ilmeshi to move first. Put his weight on either foot as he goes for the attack. And then he slips in underneath his legs, sliding along the floor and sort of stabbing upwards with his machete.
And as the Illnessi tries to grab him and wrestle him, he's. He's slipping away from his grasp and using the blade to cut away at his hands and kicks him in the back of the knee. And they both tumble down onto the roof past the sniper rifle which is still set up, aiming at Lady Knull. And then he tumbles down onto a first floor balcony dragging the ill Naji down with him.
[01:20:44] Speaker A: Okay.
And in which case as you of like land on this balcony in the. The Onishi, like the much larger Majani man kind of falls after you like from above you, you're able to roll out the way and the Majani. The side of the Majani's head smacks into the stone balcony like Barrett barrier and like he goes limp as he then plummets the rest of the way down to street level.
But as he like as you land on the balcony you feel like you la. Like well the, the weight of the Majani kind of landing sort of on top of you as you kind of roll him off is still enough that you feel a worrying snap from your right leg.
I will inflict serious harm, severe harm. Level 3 broken leg.
Would you like to resist?
[01:21:50] Speaker C: Yes please.
[01:21:50] Speaker A: Okay, so please roll me a prowess resist.
Okay, so three, three stress. So we'll reduce that to level two harm instead.
Which is, well, something, something less gratuitous.
[01:22:16] Speaker B: Sprain rather than a break.
[01:22:18] Speaker A: Maybe I think spring's more level one. Maybe a fractured leg. Yeah. So you can still put weight on it. It's not flopping as you use it.
[01:22:27] Speaker B: It's gonna climb up with a fractured leg.
[01:22:30] Speaker A: Well, so you can. It's just. It just hurts like hell when you put weight on it. But you can put weight on it. It's still. It's rel. It's 70% structurally sound.
[01:22:42] Speaker F: That's what you want in a leg.
[01:22:45] Speaker A: Yes. You hear the staccato fud as this illness splays out on the stone pavement below. And you hear like a couple of gasps as people look up. And you are able to roll yourself back over there onto the balcony proper. You can feel that your legs. There's intense pain that is kind of radiating out from the point where it struck the. The edge of the balcony. But you look up and there's a bit of a climb to get back to your sniper rifle.
We'll flick over to Tavarian. Tavarean. You've noticed that your feet have come a few feet off the cart and you're floating slightly and it feels like someone is wrestling you for control of your bodily autonomy. What do you do?
Because. Sorry. Well, I will say sorry as. Because as you float up, you feel your head turn towards the crowd and you can see the sort of like the small blips of light that people that you know are people kind of gathered around.
And you hear a static coming from your amplifier that Atta installed on you.
And in a voice mimicking yours, but isn't you heard? People of Elysia, think of me.
Think of Tarvarien.
I will save you. Think of me.
[01:24:28] Speaker B: No.
[01:24:29] Speaker A: And you recognize Lady Knull imitating your voice booming out through the speaker.
[01:24:40] Speaker E: Can I do.
Can I do a survey and see if I can try and spot her? Because obviously I don't know where she is.
[01:24:48] Speaker A: You absolutely can. Yes. Okay.
[01:24:56] Speaker E: I'm wondering if I can use my sensor.
[01:24:59] Speaker A: You know what? With the sensor, I will start you on because we're. Everyone's still desperate, but I'll start you on desperate grate.
[01:25:06] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:25:08] Speaker A: Thanks to Cuz, the sensor will give you a bump up basically.
[01:25:11] Speaker E: Okay. I will do a survey them for a desperate. Great.
[01:25:15] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:25:17] Speaker E: I am also going to push myself for an extra dice.
[01:25:20] Speaker A: Okay, so you're up to four drain a five case. So you do it. But there's a consequence, as your voice says this, you're able to sort of like strain your helmet to look like you have to bend at the back.
Because obviously the helmet being a large metal helmet, you've got no real kind of vertical rotation. But as you twist and Turn to look. You can see that in the keep. That's, you know, you. You're in the shadow of the keep, but about five stories up, you can spot the outline, the glowing outline of someone. And she's glowing brilliantly brightly. So use. From what you've gathered from conversations with Atta, you assume that she's using some sort of powerful arcane magics. Right now you can see someone sort of like leaning out and like that. You can see Lady Knoll kind of moving her hands around as she's manipulating your motor functions and sort of like controlling your arcane amplification, like voice amplifier.
Yeah. She's effectively leering over you. Six story, like five stories up, leaning out the side of the keep.
Okay.
[01:26:38] Speaker E: Would it be too far for me to do my iron man beam at her?
[01:26:42] Speaker A: Nah, I don't think it is. Yeah.
[01:26:48] Speaker E: How would this work? Because it says take one drain for each level of magnitude.
[01:26:52] Speaker A: So. Yeah, magnitude is basically like how. How big is the laser beam to go from sort of like one to six. In terms of magnitude, we're talking like, the example it gives here is small room, large room, several rooms, small building, large building, city block up at magnitude 6. But I. I guess we could imagine that as like one target.
Multiple clumped targets spread targets like it's thickly. Yes. It's the area of effect. So if you're just like. But I would then say because she's so far up, you probably need some more oomph to get the beam up. So let's say it's at least magnitude 2 to reach her. If you're trying to pinpoint her specifically.
[01:27:38] Speaker E: Let's do that then.
[01:27:39] Speaker A: Okay. So I would argue oddly. Well, you know what I probably say. I'd normally say hump for something like this because it's like a shooty attack, but given the nature of everything, I'm gonna say a tune.
I'm gonna start you, though, on a desperate limited because you're fighting against her control.
Devil's bargain.
You, regardless of what happens, you have to divert power from one of your other features.
[01:28:19] Speaker E: Okay, I can do that.
[01:28:21] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:28:23] Speaker E: I'll use that to get me up to a desperate standard.
[01:28:27] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:28:28] Speaker E: And I'm gonna push myself again to get an extra dice.
[01:28:31] Speaker A: Okay.
So this is two dice, Desperate great laser beam of tune roll.
So both. Well, the three of you are in the crowd, like, you've turned to looking like Tarian because tar.
And the voice is sounding garbled the further it gets away until it sounds quite monstrous. By the time it reaches the ground.
But then you watch as like Tarvarium then quite, quite horrifyingly bends backwards at the waist in order to be able to look up. And then you see her, like, right arm come up and there's a glow from the palm.
And you watch as this beam of bluish white, like energy erupts from her palm up the side of the keep.
And as you follow it, like in the blink of an eye that it takes to travel up, you see this figure just hurled backwards into the ruins of the keep as the beam kind of arc continues, continues arcing up and pierces straight through one of the charred vines. And you can see it's all like burn a hole all the way through until it reaches the veil and dissipates against the. The inside of the veil.
And as that happens, Taria and you are dropped and you. The cart kind of clap. The wheels give out, like, burst out as you land on it.
[01:30:10] Speaker E: You wrinkled old.
[01:30:14] Speaker A: You like, as you feel that vocal box is fizzing and sparking. It doesn't appear to be working anymore. But yes, Tarian, you are now free of whoever it was that was controlling you.
[01:30:27] Speaker C: Yay.
[01:30:30] Speaker A: The three of you in the crowd off the back of Tarvarian's shouts like, you can see that the moat, some of the motes of light, and that there are some spirits that are floating where the stage was. They're floating like above and away. But you watch as these other motes of light all start beginning, that some of them start transforming into what looks like this old keeper woman. And you realize that multiples of Tarvaryen's image are being manifested as people think of to Varian somewhat perhaps influenced by.
By the smoke. Yeah, the two mint, the two chemicals kind of clashing the trance powder and Lorenzo, your. Your paralysis poison.
But you also note that some of these spirits, as they start to materialize then begin to sort of like drift away from the crowd. And they begin to drift upwards despite the fact, especially the ones that are over the stage because they're furthest away from the crowds. You can see them sort of like trying to fly back towards the. The living folk and they're sort of like grabbing and scrabbling at the air, but they there. It's almost as if they're being pulled by a rope tied around their waists and they seem to be getting drawn up towards the keep.
And yeah, that you also noticed like a number of the moats of ghostly energy are beginning to get pulled away between the three of you in the Group. What's Lorenzo doing?
[01:32:07] Speaker D: So just to re. Establish the scene.
[01:32:10] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:32:11] Speaker D: Stages collapsed that it was like the ghostly repellent kind of bomb or something like that.
[01:32:16] Speaker A: Right.
[01:32:17] Speaker D: Okay. Tavarian needs some help fixing her vocal system.
And Daisy is cute, very cute. And so the person that was on the stage, have they, you know, gone like the person that was commanding the stage because there's no.
[01:32:36] Speaker A: The soothsayer that was once kind of addressing the crowd. She's been sort of like face found in. Face down in the dirt for a moment, but she's since sort of like stood back up and she's looking around and like, you see this Majani woman's looking up and seeing all these spirits sort of like floating away.
But you notice she doesn't look upset about it.
[01:32:59] Speaker D: Right, out the way, out the way. Doctor, Doctor. I'm not doing the Italian accent. Out of the way. A doctor, a doctor coming through.
I'm the healer.
I can't not do this with my fingers.
And maybe Lorenzo is going to push himself towards the soothsayer and kind of just as he's about to go, turns towards fiends and can. Can you help affix Tovarian's systems? Maybe she can command the crowd a little more. Maybe play around with the electronics.
[01:33:42] Speaker B: I. I don't try fix instead of. I'm used to breaking things. I'm used to breaking things, I'll give you that. Yeah, just give it a go though.
[01:33:49] Speaker D: What you would do maybe.
[01:33:51] Speaker B: Oh, blimey, that sounds complicated. Now leave it with me. Leave it with me backwards.
[01:33:56] Speaker D: And Lorenzo is going to go up to the soothsayer and kind of show doctor id.
[01:34:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:34:06] Speaker D: And don't worry, don't worry. I'll get you. I'll get you Right again. And kind of go into his bandolier, pull out a.
Just a Sorry needle. Horrible. It's going to be a syringe of the paralysis stuff and kind of just straight, straight inject soothsayer lady.
[01:34:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:34:26] Speaker D: It's going to help you. It's going to help you.
[01:34:32] Speaker A: Oh, blimey. Okay. Right, so let's call that. Yeah. What. What ability are you using for this?
[01:34:41] Speaker D: I'm going to argue that it's a finesse because it's like a fine tooled. Like using a needle, putting it precisely in the place where a needle should go. Being a doctor is somewhere population.
[01:34:56] Speaker A: Just look here, look here.
[01:34:59] Speaker D: Yeah, okay. Like a squeaky toy, like with a child. When you give them an injection.
[01:35:05] Speaker A: Not around my eyes, into my eyes.
Okay, yeah. Now that's fine. I will start you on a desperate standard, okay?
[01:35:13] Speaker D: Desperate standard, yeah, because, yeah, more and.
[01:35:16] Speaker A: More ghosts are manifesting above your heads. But then, like, as a crowd are screaming, they're then being sort of like. But yeah, you see Tarian ghosts. You see like random civilian ghosts just materializing, kind of drifting upwards.
[01:35:31] Speaker D: I will. I will push myself for another.
A great. What would a greater effect be It.
[01:35:39] Speaker A: It might be how quickly she gets knocked out or how long she's knocked out for. Or.
[01:35:43] Speaker D: Let's. Let's push. Let's push. Have an extra dice. Why not just get. It's. It's that kind of night.
[01:35:50] Speaker B: Treat yourself.
[01:35:52] Speaker D: Treat yourself. Get a.
[01:35:55] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, like, this madrani, this mad. This thin major lady, like, looks up to you.
Who are you? She says as you're like, I'm a doctor.
And as you move over her, you sort of like, you're commanding her attention with your left hand and your eyes. And then you just step in and jab this, like, syringe into her, like, neck arteries. And as you.
Or. But maybe just straight into her chest, like between. Perfectly between the ribs into the heart. And you inject her with paralysis points.
[01:36:32] Speaker D: I would like it to be a little subtler maybe like, okay, like, so it could be easily, you know, it's not a big show of it. It's kind of. I'm checking over and I gonna give her the old.
[01:36:42] Speaker A: In which case, you know what, off the back of a desperate success, perhaps it might even be your tail that's got the syringe and you just like, get her in the leg.
[01:36:56] Speaker B: Ooh, nice.
[01:36:57] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:36:59] Speaker A: Okay, so, yeah, you manipulate your tail when you inject her and she, like, she flinches at this. The socks, the sudden sharp scratch. And she looks, what was that? What have you?
And then she just stops. And, like, her mouth sags a little bit, her eyes go a bit droopy, and then she just backwards and falls down. And like, as she lands, she rocks like a plank of wood that's just been dropped on a stone floor. Like, her legs are still a little bit bent and she's just completely frozen in the shape that she was in.
[01:37:36] Speaker B: Whoops.
[01:37:37] Speaker A: Standing up.
[01:37:38] Speaker D: Look what happens when you think about the memories of people.
You fall down. She has to be taken away. It's terrible. You should stop thinking so much, all of you.
[01:37:53] Speaker A: So, Lorenzo, use. Like, are you drawing attention to this? Or you just be like, oh, no, what a shame. And then leaving the scene of the crime.
[01:38:01] Speaker D: Oh, come and help your Overthinking, diseased person. She got. She got. She didn't overthink, and it made her pass out.
[01:38:13] Speaker A: So, yes, there are some. The other. Some of the other nations kind of rush over, and they're sort of like, slapping on the sister. Sister, they're saying is like. One of them says he's kind of trying to shake her out of this just absolute frozen catatonic state.
But, yeah, they don't also don't seem to be paying you much attention as they're just, like, terribly worried about what's happened to this poor lady.
Just. Just as some context just in the crowd. Ro, you can here. What's happening? What's happening? From Alejandro, who's still got the gossiper's earring on.
And like, yeah, Alehan, the rest of you on ground level, you can see Alejandro in the crowd, and he and his crew just sort of looking around frantic.
But Rof, you hear in your head, no, it's fine. It's fine. They're still being siphoned. They're still being enlivened. HE shouts and both you see Alejandro's hand, like, emerging from the crowd and is pointing up at the ghost spirits, like, the memory spirits capable. Tom.
[01:39:23] Speaker F: Hello.
[01:39:24] Speaker A: Everything's going marvelously. What are you doing?
[01:39:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:39:30] Speaker F: I'm gonna stab someone.
I've been wanting tea for ages, but there's just no good stabilization. Okay, I'll just. I'll just turn to fiends and be like.
So looks like there was some trouble off the keep, eh? Seems like that's where the ghosts are going as well. We should check it out. I could maybe use some little bit of force. Yeah. And having seen Tarian take a shot at someone, I want to make sure that it's confirmed.
So I'm going to. Whoever I can see, I'm gonna kind of just point, and then I'm gonna start running towards the keep.
[01:40:10] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:40:12] Speaker F: With the intention to scramble up some of those vines to where the shot hit.
[01:40:18] Speaker A: Who else is heading to the keep? And we can smash cut.
[01:40:23] Speaker E: I'll head over.
[01:40:25] Speaker A: Okay. Is fiends heading over?
[01:40:28] Speaker B: Well, I just. I feel I can't just abandon Lorenzo.
[01:40:33] Speaker A: Is Lorenzo heading over?
[01:40:35] Speaker D: Lorenzo probably will head over if he no longer sees any of the crew, but is trying to, like, convince everybody that as they. They're getting the overthinking disease.
[01:40:48] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
[01:40:49] Speaker B: I just want to kind of be clear, like, what is currently happening amidst the crowd? Are there more spirits showing up?
[01:40:55] Speaker A: Is.
[01:40:55] Speaker B: Are the ilna. She doing anything in particular?
[01:40:58] Speaker A: So there are still. There are like somewhat more infrequent manifestations of these ghosts. A number of them look like tarvarium, a number of them look like people you've never wrecked seen before, but you suspect that they're still kind of lost relatives, you know, off the back of the initial command of. You think of your lost ones, but. But yeah, it looks somewhat more patchy, but the ones that are appearing because of your anathemic field over the the area, a lot of them are sort of materializing then trying to go for the crowd and then kind of being repelled and then seemingly getting then kind of sucked up into this air towards the keep.
[01:41:44] Speaker B: Okay, so does lady all appear to be the biggest threat at the moment?
[01:41:49] Speaker A: While you look and you're not sure that you presumably fiends and Lorenzo aren't 100% who the instigator of this whole thing is, but you do see that there's a big old red hot scorch mark up the side of the keep, piercing through one of the vines. And it. It looks like Tarvarian and Tom are heading that way.
[01:42:17] Speaker B: Okay, what do you think, Lorenzo?
Where are we needed most, you reckon? I could say here.
[01:42:24] Speaker D: And we need to get away. All this thinking.
[01:42:27] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, if you wanted. Well, the thing is there are people still conjuring these spirits.
[01:42:34] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:42:35] Speaker A: So if. If Lorenzo, if you're thinking that, that you want to sort of like cure everyone of overthinking disease, you could start.
[01:42:43] Speaker B: Putting a few people sleep?
[01:42:46] Speaker D: Yeah, maybe as many, as many as I am able to. Kind of like I'm trying to keep the Ilna she busy by like treating people with their overthinking disease. Yeah, treating.
[01:43:01] Speaker B: Is there anything we could do to like, you know how our bandoliers have like little bottles and things attached to it with various substances in it? Could we combine some of your substances with fiends wrecking skills to essentially explode some of these bottles above the crowd and disseminate sleep juice or something over some of them?
[01:43:23] Speaker D: It's not sleep, it's air burst paralysis powder.
[01:43:28] Speaker B: Can there be anti thinking powder?
[01:43:33] Speaker D: We could try, but you might get paralysis to see which is the right word to use. Whereas Lorenzo won't because Lorenzo's the immune.
[01:43:44] Speaker B: Completely immune. I'll try not to get it on me. I'll try and be on the periphery.
[01:43:49] Speaker D: We can flash back to Lorenzo and fiends doing a little lab, making some.
[01:43:55] Speaker B: Little paralysis powder bombs, making some chemical warfare. Chemical warfare. Never know when you might need it.
[01:44:04] Speaker A: Okay, well, tell you what then. Who.
While the two of you. Well, who. Who was leading that flashback?
Because to me, it does sound like the two of you would need to be kind of like working together on ground floor in order to kind of tidy that. Yeah, the actual summoning bit.
[01:44:24] Speaker B: Can we share the flashback?
[01:44:26] Speaker A: Once we share a flashback, but yes. Okay, so how.
How are you knocking heads together? Like, who was doing the. The alchemy, for all extents and purposes.
[01:44:40] Speaker B: Oh, well, because. Because Lorenzo's gotta make. Make the paralysis powder and fiends has got to tinker the. Tinker it into a set of grenades, isn't she? Not grenades. Not grenades, but like things that will go above the crowd.
[01:44:55] Speaker A: I think that this. Yeah. The important bit really is converting the paralysis, the standstill powder, into an air burst.
[01:45:05] Speaker D: Does give you a help.
[01:45:08] Speaker B: Does it stop them thinking, though? Surely it.
[01:45:11] Speaker D: No.
[01:45:11] Speaker B: Won't stop. That's what we want, though. We want them to stop thinking and conjuring ghosts.
[01:45:16] Speaker F: You can use gunpowder. It stops people thinking.
[01:45:20] Speaker B: It's not. That's plan B.
[01:45:22] Speaker D: Do any of us know what happens when you're paralyzed? I'm not sure.
[01:45:27] Speaker B: You don't stop thinking. You just can't move.
[01:45:30] Speaker D: Could we please put them to sleep?
[01:45:32] Speaker B: Errol.
That is within Lorenzo's power.
This, he's got.
Where did this come from? This absolute obsession.
[01:45:43] Speaker D: Look, look, there's dream. Dream essence is something. But that's a special formula.
[01:45:51] Speaker B: Listen, listen.
[01:45:52] Speaker D: There's not.
[01:45:52] Speaker B: Listen, Lorenzo is an. Lorenzo is an alchemical genius. If anyone can figure out sleep juice, it's Lorenzo.
[01:46:03] Speaker A: If. If. Okay, if we're doing a combining, I'm more than happy to say that Lorenzo will need to roll to create.
[01:46:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:46:16] Speaker A: Dream powder, whatever it was called.
[01:46:19] Speaker B: Sleepy Time Tea.
[01:46:20] Speaker A: Sleepy time tea. Yes.
And I can take this. Has to roll to see how well she then weaponizes it.
[01:46:30] Speaker B: Is that tinker or wreck.
[01:46:34] Speaker A: Your core?
[01:46:36] Speaker B: I'll tinker if I'm into. Into existence.
[01:46:40] Speaker A: Yeah. I think the difference between tinker and wreck in this instance is whether it's in a specifically crafted container or if it's in a glass jar, like with a. With a bit of rope sticking out of it. It. Wreck would be the glass jar.
[01:46:56] Speaker B: Oh, right, right.
[01:46:57] Speaker A: Still got a jam label on it.
Okay, so between the two, this. This I'll. I'll set this as a risky standard because.
Hadn't hit the fan by at this point. So. Yeah. Between the two of you. Risky standard. Feel free to push and so on and so forth.
[01:47:16] Speaker B: Huh? I'm pushing.
[01:47:18] Speaker D: I really got a lot of opportunities. Special though.
[01:47:23] Speaker B: No.
[01:47:23] Speaker D: Maybe.
No.
Okay.
[01:47:28] Speaker A: Got three stress left.
[01:47:29] Speaker D: I know. Yeah, but what if Lorenzo needs to use it? But. Okay, let's just roll risky thunder time too.
[01:47:36] Speaker A: Yeah, you can switch to desperate. Great. If you like. For free.
[01:47:39] Speaker D: All right, you did it.
[01:47:41] Speaker B: Very good. Very good.
[01:47:43] Speaker A: Okay, enough.
Enough. Has been created by fiends. What did you do with it?
[01:47:51] Speaker B: Let's see.
6.
[01:47:55] Speaker A: Look at that meeting of minds.
[01:47:56] Speaker B: Look at that.
It's fiends's redemption arc, I'm telling you.
[01:48:02] Speaker A: Okay, so yeah, between the two like fiends, you, there's this as you presumably it's a sense of like, oh, is it time? Is it time?
[01:48:13] Speaker B: As you sleepy bye byes.
[01:48:15] Speaker A: As you produce the sleepy go bye bye bombs.
[01:48:20] Speaker B: And flinging them over the crowd. So they burst over the crowd, douse them in droplets in a miasma of sleepy juice.
[01:48:30] Speaker A: Well, so you've successfully created them, but I will at this point now ask for the wreck role.
See if you manage to successfully distribute them properly.
[01:48:41] Speaker B: Can I help? Oh, yeah, if you could help, that would be amazing.
[01:48:44] Speaker D: That's one stress.
[01:48:45] Speaker B: Right.
[01:48:45] Speaker D: I'm happy.
[01:48:46] Speaker B: One stress to help. Perfect. And so I think, what is it? What is the role?
[01:48:51] Speaker A: So we're going to start you on a desperate standard again, right? With devil's bargain.
Regardless of what happens, the Ornaeshi take affirmative action against the two of you.
[01:49:09] Speaker B: It just gives me more excuse to throw bombs.
So that's fine.
So I've got help and I've got a devil's bargain.
I'm going to use one of them for an extra die and I'm going to use one of them to change back to risky rather than destroy.
[01:49:25] Speaker A: Go up to greater.
Can't change the position.
[01:49:29] Speaker B: You can't change your position. Okay.
[01:49:30] Speaker A: You can make it like worse. So, okay, you can make it more desperate, I should say not worse. Yeah, you can move to desperate.
[01:49:40] Speaker B: Greater desperate. Great. Plus one. Okay, let's go.
[01:49:46] Speaker A: That was a lot of ones and twos. Whoops.
Okay, so between the two of you, so you're both gonna get caught up in this. So you do it. So fiends and Lorenzo, as you begin hucking these sleepy go bye bye bombs over the crowd and they start detonating. And you've made sure that the casing burns away in the explosion rather than, you know, fragmentates into the crowd.
They're paper bombs.
And you watch as this sort of like dust billows out. You watch as one by one and then with greater frequency, members of the crowd start just looking a bit boss eyed for a moment. And then just slumping to the ground. And in the matter of like less than sort of like 10 seconds, a good half of the crowd has just slumped to the floor and sort of like they just piled over each other in really kind of awkward positions. And like, some of the others have like run away from the crowd and then just started to get a bit floppy and then like flops to the ground a little bit away.
[01:50:59] Speaker B: Thinking. Stop thinking.
Go to sleep.
[01:51:05] Speaker A: As a serious complication.
[01:51:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:51:09] Speaker A: As the two of you watch like fiends, perhaps you did a bit too well. Uh oh, and the projection of these explosives is greater than you had anticipated. No, as the two of you. Because Lorenzo helps and that means that you're both suffering. You feel a bit. Oh, you feel a bit drowsy. Oh, do you want to resist?
[01:51:35] Speaker B: Yes, I want to run away and drag Lorenzo with me. All seven foot of it.
[01:51:41] Speaker A: Well, so you get to resist wrist independently. Which of you want to resist?
[01:51:47] Speaker B: I'll resist.
[01:51:49] Speaker A: Okay, well, this will be a. It will be a prowess roll. So it is a four dice resist, but you've only got three stress left.
[01:51:58] Speaker B: That's fine.
[01:52:00] Speaker A: Is Lorenzo resisting or is he going sleepy? Go by.
[01:52:04] Speaker B: I can always like drag him away if necessary.
[01:52:06] Speaker D: Give him a. I mean, he's going to try and resist, but he hasn't got a lot of stress.
[01:52:10] Speaker B: No, you've not got the stress for it, my love. Don't do it, please.
Okay, so, so how do I. How do I roll a resist again? Is it just a straight prowess?
[01:52:21] Speaker A: Just click on the word. Yeah, click on the word prowess. It'll be.
[01:52:24] Speaker B: Just roll it.
[01:52:25] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:52:28] Speaker B: Oh, what was it?
[01:52:30] Speaker A: Stress.
Okay, so as this dream dust sort of like billows over you as you're shouting. Stop thinking. And you like huffing a big mouthful of it and you think, oh, no.
[01:52:46] Speaker B: Oh no.
[01:52:48] Speaker A: You managed to like you've. You've. I. Presumably you've already got the. You've got Lorenzo to get the antidote, but Lorenzo, by the time you look at over to him is already.
[01:52:57] Speaker B: Can I get the antidote off Lorenzo? If I drag him away and I look for the antidote on his person, it will waste a bit of time, but yeah, yes.
[01:53:06] Speaker A: So you're a little bit drowsy, but otherwise you manage to. I think he's quite big. He's a seven and a half foot tall boy. You managed to drag Lorenzo out of the sleeping ground and before long, pretty much everyone has kind of fallen asleep and the flow of. Or the conjuration of the spirits has now stopped. We will smash over to Ro.
What are you doing now? Like, given everything you've seen, have you been kind of clambering back up to your vantage point?
[01:53:37] Speaker C: Yes, I want to try and make it back up to my sniper position.
[01:53:42] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:53:43] Speaker C: I'm attempting to climb at first.
[01:53:46] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, so you. There's been. Luckily, there's been enough time, enough attention has been kind of pulled away from you that you are able to just sort of, like, pull yourself up with just three of your limbs.
[01:53:59] Speaker C: Sticky eel gloves.
[01:54:01] Speaker A: Sticky gloves. Coming to the coming in clutch.
And sort of, like, as you painfully pull yourself back onto the spot where your sniper harpoon rifle is, as you look back down it through the scope, you can see that these conjured spirits that have been manifested in Union Park, a number of them are being drawn to what looks like the same level that Lady Null was on. You've noticed that she's disappeared? There appears to be a big scorch mark up the side of the keep wall for some reason, but they seem to almost be getting drawn up, up to that level through the wall, and then down into something where they're then disappearing.
So it likes. It looks like they're being siphoned into something on that floor.
[01:54:51] Speaker C: Okay. I want to scramble around for my kit bag where I've pulled the rifle from. And in there, I have some special harpoons.
[01:55:04] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:55:09] Speaker C: Electro plasmic ammunition.
[01:55:13] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:55:15] Speaker C: Which is from my loadout.
They are especially potent against spirits.
[01:55:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:55:22] Speaker F: Ghost gun.
[01:55:24] Speaker A: So the. These in. So these harpoons in particular, the harpoon T tips are hollowed. And insert. In the hollow of each of these tips is a crafted arcane mana gem, which, yeah. Is quite anathemic to.
To ghost. Very, very good. Okay.
[01:55:44] Speaker C: And I'm just going. I'm going to fire one at the spot at which all these spirits are being drawn to see if I can get rid of any of them.
[01:55:55] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. That sounds like another hunt. Then once again, I'll start you on desperate standard. Your leg's not gonna impact this in any way.
[01:56:08] Speaker C: So I can. I can expend my special armor to push myself for ranged combat.
[01:56:15] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:56:17] Speaker C: So I'm gonna use that to add another dice for four dark. Nice hunting.
[01:56:22] Speaker A: Okay.
Taking a deep breath. And with a pull of the trigger, the.
The harpoon flies across. It whistles as it spins towards its target.
And so what, you. Were you aiming for the spot that they were kind of disappearing?
[01:56:46] Speaker C: Yeah. So if there's an. If there's a spot where they're all sort of getting sucked into, in concentration. So I can maybe spear as many as possible and try and get that. Stop them from being being sucked in and sucked off.
[01:57:04] Speaker A: In which case, like, as you focus for a moment and then you sort of like take a deep breath, and then as you exhale, you. You see that there's a metallic glimmer, like a golden glimmer, like floating above the. The floor of the. Of the keep where Lady Null and Lady Null was. You suspect that whatever this metallic ring it looks like is, that must be what's causing all this. So that is your target.
But as the harpoon flies across, it arcs up the. The wind, like, lifts the tip ups enough that it skirts over the ring. It still manages to sort of like skewer and banish a good number of the.
The conjured spirits that are about to get siphoned into it. So you've certainly put a pause on them being kind of drawn in. Well, you've stopped those ones in particular being drawn in.
But yeah, it looks like the. The harpoon is just sort of like skirted over the edge of this metallic object that Lady Knull appears to be operating.
That is your reduced effect.
If you would like to resist, then, then you. Your mark is ever so slightly truer, and you do, in fact, do damage to this mechanism.
[01:58:35] Speaker C: Okay, I'm going to resist.
[01:58:37] Speaker A: Okay.
So off the back of a hump, this is an insight resist. Okay.
[01:58:43] Speaker C: And I can't use my special armor twice, so I can't. I mean.
[01:58:48] Speaker A: Okay, Correct. So this is a three dice resist.
Oh, yeah. Okay, you should let out that breath and like, you feel your heart slow for a moment as you pull the trigger. And it looks like the harpoon is about to peel off, but it doesn't. And it does in fact strike this ring. And you see this, like, this golden ring ricochet away as the harpoon kind of bounces off it. But the harpoon bouncing off then skews through a number of ghosts. So the mechanism isn't destroyed, but it has been knocked out the way and its kind of alignment is completely thrown out. So you have stopped the supply of spirits into it.
And you take another slow breath to regain your composure as you check, check your shot. Anything else?
Okay, I'm gonna.
[01:59:50] Speaker C: I'm gonna scan to see where my friends are.
[01:59:53] Speaker A: Okay. You look down and you can see everyone. Well, I guess it's a bit difficult to tell whether everyone in the park is asleep or dead, but juicy fiends dragging Lorenzo, who again is either asleep or dead, trekking him away from the crowd.
Yes. We smash over to Tarian and Tom of the capable variety.
The two of you sort of like managed to the ruins. You know, the keep was once this grand and glorious building, but after the like the raised. After it was raised during the kindlings attack not too long ago.
Now that the structure is speared by these large, huge vines, it's surprisingly easy to scale its height, ducking between the broken bits of masonry, using the vines as almost like a handhold to pull yourself up.
And the two of you managed to reach the fifth floor to Varian, where you know, someone was controlling you.
As the two of you arrive, you can see that there are three Majani on this space and it's only a bit of wall that's still connected. Sorry, a bit of floor that's still connected to the wall and that's kind of propped up by these vines. So it's quite a precarious position. To lose your footing would send you plummeting down into the ruins of the keep, like a number of floors down.
But as you. Tom, as you arrive, you can see that over in the corner there's this very elderly looking Majani woman and there is a like, she had this like full head kind of covering that only showed the like her face.
The. That veil has just been kind of burnt away along with a lot of the surface level skin off the side of her sort of like left cheek and up.
She's sort of like. Like her hands are thrashing is under the pain. One of the major. One of the major is trying to tend to her. But the third turns and sees the two of you arrive and he shouts something in a native tongue. But what do you do?
[02:02:28] Speaker F: So as we kind of reached the. The bit where we'll be able to see in here, I'd like to have swigged my potion of silence.
[02:02:38] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:02:39] Speaker F: Which will silence everything within 10ft or meters. One of the two.
[02:02:44] Speaker B: Nice.
[02:02:45] Speaker F: Some sort of distance.
[02:02:46] Speaker A: Yeah, a short distance.
[02:02:48] Speaker F: A short distance, that's the important thing.
[02:02:51] Speaker A: As an aside, did you also want to Varian to be sneaking up silently.
[02:02:55] Speaker F: With you if possible? Yes. And in that case, I would like to give Tarvarian my fine shadow cloak if I am able to do so, to take the edge off a little bit.
[02:03:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
I mean this sounds like you might be leading a group action capable Tom.
[02:03:16] Speaker F: Yeah, I'd like to try and lead a prowl up there if I could.
[02:03:20] Speaker A: Okay. So between the two of you, if you both roll me a desperate standard prowl, we will call it Desperate standard for Tarian because she's got this cloak that's covering some of her.
And then, yeah, we'll take the highest result from the two of you. And Tom, you will take stress for any fails.
[02:03:42] Speaker E: I will warn you, I have no prowl.
[02:03:46] Speaker F: You don't need it, baby. I got this.
[02:03:48] Speaker B: You got this?
[02:03:51] Speaker A: Yeah. So roll away.
I wouldn't advise it for tar, but capable Tom, you can push yourself for two stress to get an extra dice or an extra effect to take up to desperate. Greater.
[02:04:06] Speaker F: It's already desperate, isn't it?
Now I'll save the stress. It might come in handy.
[02:04:13] Speaker A: So yeah, the extra dice, yeah.
Okay, so we've got a five and a three. So we'll go with the five. So capable Tom, you suffer one stress as you like, shush to Varian and do your very best to get her up unnoticed. Which is you'd managed to do very impressively.
[02:04:36] Speaker F: How can you possibly be this loud?
[02:04:39] Speaker A: Have you seen me?
Okay, so you suffer severe harm. A serious complication occurs, you have reduced effect.
So Tom, I will say that, yeah, the serious complication is that the Majani, like the Onishi that seen you like, shout something in his native tongue and then draws what looks to be a wickedly sharp and slender blade, a sword. And then strikes a pose. And then with a deft hand movement, the blade splits along its length and pivots on the handle and locks in to a double ended blade.
And as a cobble. You suspect that this Majani, this ili is one of their assassins.
[02:05:41] Speaker B: Who know.
[02:05:43] Speaker F: Sweet.
That's something that I'll note out of the corner of my eye as I train my pistol on Lady Null and pull the trigger.
[02:05:55] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:05:57] Speaker F: Can't let them survive again. Not this time. Tom.
[02:06:04] Speaker A: Which. Which ability are you using for this?
[02:06:07] Speaker F: I guess that would probably be Hunt. I assume to shoot someone in the face.
[02:06:14] Speaker B: Now we're talking.
[02:06:16] Speaker A: Come on. You carefully track a target.
But it does then go on to say.
Well, you might, I think, because if it's close range with a pistol, I mean, Hunt is more a precision shooting from a distance.
[02:06:29] Speaker F: Okay. I mean, I'm happy to. I'm happy to. You know what? It makes almost no difference regardless what I do, because I'm pretty capable.
[02:06:42] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah.
[02:06:42] Speaker F: I'm gonna wreck her just because it makes me feel better.
[02:06:46] Speaker B: Wrecking makes me feel good.
[02:06:48] Speaker A: Roll. Roll. A.
Because it's a pistol. We. We will go. We'll start on desperate.
Desperate great. Why not? We're going. We're going in big A. Desperate great.
To Savarian. You're up here. Would you like to help?
[02:07:09] Speaker E: I guess I can.
[02:07:10] Speaker A: I can help. I can.
[02:07:12] Speaker E: I can give you a little. I can give you an extra dice.
[02:07:15] Speaker F: Okay, great. Yeah. Help me shoot this old woman with gun. Thank you.
[02:07:21] Speaker A: So Tavarian is up to.
Is up to 9 of 10 drain.
So that's. That will be an extra dice for you. Capable Tom.
Are you daredeviling this?
[02:07:35] Speaker F: Yeah. I mean it's already desperate. So that'll be plus two.
[02:07:39] Speaker A: This is three dice. Desperate. Great. Wreck as Capable Tom produces a pistol. And.
[02:07:48] Speaker B: Look at that.
Ice cold as this assassin bears down on him. He just stirs him down and shoots Lady Null. Anyway.
[02:08:05] Speaker A: This. This assassin so like does the flourish Indiana Jones style and Tom. Huh?
And you like as you fire the shot the. So it's like you feel that you. Everything goes into slow motion Capable Tom as you feel the arcane runes inside the firearm kind of ignite as they send that kind of pulse along the barrel into the map. So into the mana crystal in the body of the gun as the reacts and fires this block blast of high density kind of magic out of the barrel of the of the pistol.
You watch as this arc of light blasts through the back of the hand of the ornation tending to Lady Null out from her palm. And then luckily the hand is positioned in such a way that as the bolt strikes Lady Knoll right between the eyes, the hand kind of covers up most of the absolute devastation that occurs as a result of your accurate shot. But all of that for Tavarin in the flick of a flash use. In a moment you see a flash of light and then Lady Noel's head hit the wall behind her and then she just slumps a hole where her eyes and nose used to.
[02:09:39] Speaker B: Beautifully done.
[02:09:40] Speaker C: Jolly good.
[02:09:44] Speaker A: And then Tarian.
You watch as this assassin then lunges at Capable Tom and is about to skewer him like cut him down with this double bladed sword. You can also see that there's this gold kind of mechanism that's got a big dent in the side of it. There's a number of sort of like arcane sigils and mana crystals encrusted on it. And the ghosts that are pouring in sort of like over your head seem to be kind of coalescing around it, but like they're being drawn to it, but it's not. It doesn't seem to be absorbing them like it was.
Yeah. So you see that kind of floating about. But yeah, what you do in this moment as this assassin is all like in midair, about to strike Capable Tom.
[02:10:36] Speaker E: She's gonna throw the cloak off and she's gonna go and give the Majani a good old smacking.
[02:10:45] Speaker A: This sounds like a skirmish.
[02:10:47] Speaker E: Yeah, I can't book myself anymore.
[02:10:51] Speaker A: No, no. Does capable Tom want to help tariff?
[02:10:55] Speaker F: Oh, yes, please.
[02:10:56] Speaker A: Okay, so that's one stress for capable Tom. I'm going to start you on a desperate standard skirmish.
[02:11:03] Speaker E: I'm going to do one extra dice.
[02:11:05] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:11:06] Speaker E: Desperate standard.
[02:11:07] Speaker A: Okay.
Yeah. Nice. Proper to at him as this assassin is midair hurling towards capable Tom. Tom turns and sort of like, well, presumably moves out of the way, kind of disguising you somewhat. And Tarian, describe to me what happens as you catch this assassin midair with your right fist.
[02:11:34] Speaker E: You know how, like in some animes where they get hit, it's like a slow motion. It's like a slow motion just goes through the cheek like that, and then they just. Super speed go.
[02:11:47] Speaker A: Okay. But the added bonus is because of the sheer state of the ruby keep, as your fist connects and this illness is flung away from you, he's flung into nothingness. And there's a. As you're watching Ragdoll down five stories into the ruins of the keep, and there's just a plume of smoke some 40ft away when he finally lands. And, like, you see bits of timber and masonry just kind of collapse in on him, burying him in a moment.
Cool. Very good.
Between the two of you. So you can see a lot of these ghosts loitering. This. This golden ring seems to be the focus, like the arcane focus of whatever Lady Null was doing.
What's your. What's your plan here?
[02:12:36] Speaker E: How many. How many ghosts would you say are.
[02:12:38] Speaker A: Around over your head? There's about a dozen or so.
But you suspect. You. You get this impression that this. This device is absorbing them and actually, yeah, through your, like your soul site, Tarian, you can see that this device is a transference art effect. It seems like it's absorbing it and then moving it elsewhere.
[02:13:08] Speaker B: Don't let it absorb anymore.
[02:13:11] Speaker E: Can I do a flashback where I've also spoken to Atta again?
[02:13:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:13:18] Speaker E: Where.
Oh, you're back.
I want to ask for. So they've. So we've got the ghost orbs where we've used that to suck out ghosts.
[02:13:31] Speaker A: Yeah, Gorbs.
[02:13:33] Speaker E: I want a good. I want a good hefty gorb to get, like, a good amount of ghosts in it. At least maybe, let's say a dozen.
[02:13:41] Speaker D: Well, there was that time we accidentally caught a load of ghosts in the Mushroom farm.
I have a good idea of like what the parameters are for multiple ghost containment is. Yeah, absolutely.
[02:13:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:13:57] Speaker E: And from my loadout, I would like to pull out.
[02:13:59] Speaker A: Yeah, good.
[02:14:00] Speaker E: Gaul.
[02:14:01] Speaker A: I'm imagining because given what you are, there's just a compartment that you open on your torso and you reach it and produce like an internal backpack.
Like a kangaroo mother's pouch. Yeah. You produce this Ghost Orb and off the back of. Shall we just say off the back of Atta's in like suggestion, you place the orb in the center of this ring so it interacts with the. The runes inside.
And are you just looking to absorb what's left into the Ghost Orb rather than the ring?
[02:14:39] Speaker E: Yes.
[02:14:39] Speaker A: Okay.
So in which case, Ro, you can see this through your scope as Tarian begins manipulating this artifact capable. Tom. You're like. You stand and watch as Tarvarian inter. Like connects these two things together. And as she pulls the. The ring back to where it used to be, the ghosts like the. The runes reignite and the ghosts are drawn in, but instead of flowing into the runes of capture on the ring, they instead get absorbed by the Ghost Orb. And with a.
And you can see that the. The mistiness within the orb is getting denser and denser as these faces press against it in Tarvarian. It's quite shocking because a good number of them are your old face pressed against the glass of the orb, kind of screaming and panicking as they thrash about and get squished and squeezed as more and more come plomp in. And soon enough, between the two of you fiends and Lorenzo. Lorenzo, you start come to.
You can see that the last of the summon spirits made it to the keep.
And Tom, Roath and Tarvarian, you watch as they are fully captured by the Ghost Orb provided to you by Atta. They high capacity Ghost Orb provided to you by Atta.
And I think as the last of the spirits is absorbed into the Ghost Orb, which is now glowing with this bright intensity that you've never seen one of these glow with before, you take a glance around this. This. The situation is somewhat quiet apart from the sobbing of the Unaishi woman that's had a hat, a hole blown through her right hand and fiends. And Lorenzo, as you look around, you can see a number of the civilians starting to come to as well as they look around. What's happening? What's happening? And they begin to pick themselves up and begin scattering off in various directions after this calamitous series of events. But the five of you realize that you've stopped the Ori from generating more power for Neph. Yay. Yeah.
[02:17:11] Speaker F: Yeah.
[02:17:14] Speaker A: And Ro, you are still connected to via the. You're still connected via the gossiper's earrings to Alejandro.
[02:17:27] Speaker C: Can I see him anywhere through my scope?
[02:17:29] Speaker A: You are draw. Your attention's drawn to him as you hear like a heavy, panicked panting.
And you scan and notice that he and his two companions are currently booking it through the west entrance of Spire park into Dustry Hill.
And it's the sound of him.
Quick, this way. This way. Quick.
Yes, he seems to be scarring to the winds.
[02:18:03] Speaker C: Don't forget you owe me five coin, you sexy bastard.
[02:18:11] Speaker A: You hear a loud sort of like, crack and you presume that Alejandro's taken the gossiper's earring and thrown it to the ground.
But, yeah, as you watch, you can't help but smirk as you watch the three of them, like, clear over the. The bridge into Dustry Hill.
Even as like. And as Lorenzo and fiends make their way away from Union park, you see a number of. Of other civilians kind of coming out to help those who were in the seance. But you have successfully completed the B team side mission.
[02:18:50] Speaker F: Nice.
[02:18:51] Speaker A: Easy peasy, easy peasy.
So, with that said, we will see what the ramifications of this score have on the 18s mission down in the heart of Alicia. Because as all of this was going out, going down, Magpie, Atta, Algonon, Catherine and Frieda are delving into the depths of.
Of Elysia, the Elysian Catacombs, to find. To conf. Confront Nephone and Turia. And we will see how.
Yeah, how stymying this part of the plan affects them when they begin their score. But with all that said, thank you everyone, for. For playing. Thank you, Tim.
[02:19:46] Speaker E: Thank you, Tim.
[02:19:47] Speaker F: It's been a pleasure. Lovely to meet you and play with you again, everybody.
[02:19:52] Speaker A: He comes in.
He comes in, he lies to a few people, he shoots a faction leader in the face. He leaves.
[02:20:00] Speaker E: It took us like about.
[02:20:02] Speaker F: I'm okay. I don't know.
You're ask for Tom to get a job done. He comes in, he does it, he goes home.
[02:20:10] Speaker E: He's gonna have 10 episodes to kill a head faction.
[02:20:15] Speaker A: This is. This is why Musto recommended him. Yeah, it's high praise gets it done. So, yes, I am looking forward to the next finale because the next. The next episodes. The finale. Things are going to look a little different, aren't they? But I won't go into details. You just have to make sure to first of all, like this video and comment down below on comment down below, below on what you believe Capable Tom does in his what is it actually?
