[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hello and welcome, world. Hello. Hi, welcome. My name is DM Dan. We are the explorers of elsewhere and we are live for your ear holes and your eyeballs and your nostrils. I was prepping for a job interview and that was no fun. [00:00:37] Speaker A: Did you. Has job interview happened? Been gone. [00:00:41] Speaker B: Yeah. And I didn't get it. So I'm sinking myself back into RPGs. [00:00:48] Speaker A: More time for Dagger Heart. That's what I'm hearing. Absolutely. [00:00:52] Speaker B: I actually turned it down for an extra bag of heart. [00:00:56] Speaker C: Oh, you want to see anything Monday nights? [00:00:58] Speaker A: Absolutely not. Exclusively Monday nights between 7:30 and 10:30. Absolutely not. Well, yes. It's a link to Drive Thru rpg and it doesn't cost you any extra to buy the digital rules for of Dagger Heart from Drive Thru, but it does give us a little bit of a kickback which is very nice, very helpful, very useful and last final shout out before we kick things off. We are. Dude, what's the date. 2ish weeks into the Holmwood foundation, season 2 Kickstarter that we are. I. You know what? You know what, Theo? You did the shout out last time, so I reckon we get Georgeous to do it this time. [00:03:40] Speaker D: Making me say words on this thing that we're doing where we say words to each other. [00:03:44] Speaker A: How dare I? Oh, what is this Holmwood foundation we speak so highly of. [00:03:52] Speaker D: Well done. The Homewood foundation is a found footage horror fiction podcast designed as a sequel to the novel Dracula. Season one is currently out and you can find it wherever you get your podcast. Be that YouTube, be that Spotify, be that any other RSS Feedbase place, you can have it for free. It's seven episodes long. And we are currently crowdfunding for season two, which will be 10 episodes long. And I'm sure Dan will put links somewhere, if that interests you at all. [00:04:18] Speaker A: Yes, they should be linked in the description. If there aren't, come back and there will be. So. Yes, absolutely. Go check out Homeworld foundation if you. If you haven't already. Go back to Kickstarter if you haven't already. So Tim is being thrown mercilessly into the deep end. Do the four of you want to join him? Yeah, might as well. All right, let's go. [00:05:06] Speaker F: Hello, I'm Nate and I'll be playing Griffin, a Sanguvar bard. [00:05:12] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Livy and I'm playing Abe, the Guardian Keeper. [00:05:18] Speaker E: Hello, my name is Theo, and I'll be playing Cooper, Dragon scent Rogue. [00:05:24] Speaker D: Hi, my name is Georgia and I'll be playing Cassandra, an ace of our sorcerer. [00:05:31] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Tim and I'm playing Gardi, the Johnny Druid. [00:05:36] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan, the games master in this adventure. Since the Eschaton, the world has been defined by its hunger to understand the pursuit of knowledge. The spark that drives explorers, scholars and dreamers alike has become a guiding flame in the dark, leading the people of Avermoor ever deeper into the unknown. It is this yearning to know, to uncover, to grasp the truths buried beneath time that propels the rediscovery forward. Yet it was knowledge itself that once set the stage for the war of dragons, when the understanding of the arcane grew into arrogance. So one must ask, is all knowledge good to possess? Or does wisdom lie in knowing when to look away? Now, deep within an ancient vault on the Titan Isles, truths long hidden await. The walls hum with forgotten power, and whispers of lost lore echo through the silence. What waits to be found may change everything, but not all truths are allowed to be known. And so we find the six of you, including your. Your ally, Kick Fran, deep within a excavated in an area excavated by miners from Riceville narrative that have expanded out into what appears to be a large kind of subterranean cave littered with glowing fungi and bioluminescent flora. Around you there are a number of tents. Military tents to be sure. Their fabric a cool silvery gray with blood red, deep blood red penance hanging denote it hanging ceremoniously. The six of you specifically find yourselves within the walls of a structure. In this cave, some of you stood on the banks of what appears to be a glowing bioluminescent stream. And Abe you stands like what moments ago. Sorry, but where you stand moments ago was the site of a battle with a soldier in a gleaming silver armor. Her form, her corpse now bobbing gently in the waters. And after the running battle through this cave, you now find yourself in an area in a world of quiet where you. A world of quiet where though the slightest sounds boom. In their void, What does [00:10:02] Speaker E: or. [00:10:03] Speaker A: Cass, you're currently at the back of the group, just behind Cooper. Now it seems that the. The fight, the battle with these soldiers has ended. You've got a lantern. Do you want to light it up to get a few things? [00:10:24] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:10:26] Speaker A: Okay. And as an aside, does anyone else want to light up lanterns? Because I can do that for you as well. [00:10:33] Speaker F: I think we chucked ours last episode. [00:10:36] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. [00:10:37] Speaker D: Am I the only one with a lantern? [00:10:39] Speaker A: You may well be the only one with a lantern. So let me very quickly I can [00:10:44] Speaker D: give it to someone else and I can light up with a little burst of lightning at my fingertips. [00:10:52] Speaker A: Well, at the very least, we've ignited your lantern and it spreads out, illuminating the cave quite a lot. I mean for a real. Would Tim appreciate a real quick rundown of what occurred? [00:11:12] Speaker B: Yeah, he would. That would be grand. [00:11:14] Speaker D: Is he still carrying the body of a goblin? Is that. [00:11:18] Speaker C: I think. [00:11:19] Speaker A: I think he has properly discarded the goblins. [00:11:24] Speaker C: Yeah, and he'd played a very stroppy card. [00:11:31] Speaker A: God is very tired right now, [00:11:35] Speaker B: Stream. [00:11:36] Speaker A: He's. He's been carrying around the goblin in full body armor. [00:11:42] Speaker C: Why we didn't ask you to carry. [00:11:47] Speaker D: He didn't even get a gun. [00:11:52] Speaker A: So yeah, Guardi. Well, tell you what. [00:11:55] Speaker C: We. [00:11:55] Speaker A: Let's. Let's find out from the position of Guardi. So G, you have kind of gone through this kind of cave complex. You've encountered these kind of. These new literal kind of foreign soldiers in their gleaming silver armor who like a highly kind of militarized and drilled Fighting force. They wielded firearms that seemingly wildly surpass the technology of what, you know, alimony that you've seen Cass using in the past. Rather than firing cracks of kind of fire aligned manner or lightning aligned manner, there are these kind of silverish, bluish energy that kind of arcs out from between the prongs of the end of the gun, the firearm barrels with what can only be described as a whale. Screaming whale as the shots were fired out. And now, yeah, you find yourself kind of in this. In this kind of structured area. You've gone from rough, rough kind of natural cave terrain to what appears to be a constructed. A constructed area. There is carved kind of floor, carved stonework underfoot. And on the other side of this bioluminescent river, you can see what appears to be a. Like a deus. Two staircases rising up to it. And at the center, center back of this dias, along a wall made of the same material, is a door of the white marble that you have seen festooning the citizens of Riceville. [00:14:05] Speaker E: Nar. [00:14:06] Speaker A: The same marble that decorates your armor. Griffin's armor, Abe, Cass's and Abe and Cass's weapons, and Cooper's armor. But the whole structure seems to be made of this bright gloss white material. In the bio. You can see in front of you in the bioluminescent river that kind of runs from left to right, There was a bridge bobbing gently on the surface of the water. Seeing clearly it's a bridge that the. These imperials were using and have discarded in an attempt to slow your progress. So what does Guardi do. [00:15:07] Speaker B: First? [00:15:08] Speaker A: I'll. [00:15:08] Speaker B: I'll drop the goblin into the. Into the essence river, Never to be seen again. [00:15:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:15:18] Speaker B: Oh, so we're trying to get over to that marble. Marble doohickey, are we? [00:15:24] Speaker A: It would seem so. But the. So I guess the. The panic, the recent panic has revolved around you've delved into this mysterious and dark cave to explore the secrets held within the mountain and then found this. Like, when I say foreign, as in like from a different country. Well, I mean, that's what foreign means. But literally, a foreign military force already set up here. [00:15:56] Speaker B: And they're not like any of them zombies like the pirates. They're just regulars. [00:16:00] Speaker C: Yeah, regular guys. [00:16:02] Speaker B: Regular fellas. [00:16:04] Speaker C: None of us have ever experienced this them before. They were like a whole nother. [00:16:13] Speaker D: They were a bit intense. [00:16:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:16:15] Speaker D: So we had to get rid of them. [00:16:16] Speaker B: Do they have sexy accents at least? [00:16:18] Speaker F: No, no, [00:16:29] Speaker A: You wouldn't miss. So [00:16:34] Speaker B: a solid burn. Oh, I don't Know, I mean. [00:16:43] Speaker C: I mean with the. With the thing that's in the bridge. [00:16:52] Speaker A: Yes. [00:16:53] Speaker C: It's not attached to anything. It's just kind of floating middle. No. [00:16:57] Speaker A: So it looks like a. Like a relatively kind of hastily constructed wooden bridge that was used to span this. So like a. But you're. You're close enough if you wanted to do your best to fish this kind of wooden temporary bridge out the. Out the stream like you absolutely can. Like, there's no one shooting at you anymore. So that task is relatively easily done. [00:17:23] Speaker E: Can I ask, when the goblin was put in the river? [00:17:28] Speaker A: Yes. [00:17:29] Speaker E: Was there any particular effects that happened to the goblin? Did it acid or got wet? It's when. And like he went under so assumedly. It's quite a deep river. Or like, is he still. Like, can we still see him? [00:17:41] Speaker A: Like, so I guess that. [00:17:42] Speaker E: Important questions. Important questions. [00:17:44] Speaker C: Like two inches of water. Yeah. [00:17:46] Speaker A: Like a paddling bowl. [00:17:48] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:17:49] Speaker A: So just walk across a guy's foot. The. The weight of the goblin's armor certainly made him sink. But yeah, like the. The buy the glow. Like the bioluminescent glow, like it. It kind of brightens as. Around the goblin, around the. The sergeant, the squad sergeant. But yeah, they just kind of like disappear into seemingly the depths and like, So I guess it's kind of eerie that you can't. They just vanish from. From sight. So is it. Is it deep? Is it acid? Like, did they melt? Yeah, they've just vanished. They have vanished from sight. [00:18:39] Speaker E: Let's not touch that just in case. [00:18:42] Speaker C: Can I dip my tote? No. My. My can. Abe, Dave's gonna dip his ax in. [00:18:53] Speaker A: Sure. [00:18:53] Speaker C: Give it a little. [00:18:54] Speaker A: Sure. The. So the water illuminates brightly around your. The head of your ax as you dip it in as you disturb the bioluminescence. But yeah, like, say the soldiers didn't like melt or anything. Like, you didn't. You didn't see them fizzle into red red splodges? Yeah, it's just they've. They've sunk. But like, how deep is this thing? Is the only question. [00:19:20] Speaker C: It looks. It's. It's as viscous as water. [00:19:23] Speaker B: It's. [00:19:23] Speaker A: Yes. If anything, it's a little bit. It almost feels a bit thicker. Like dead sea thickness. [00:19:30] Speaker D: It was like goop slime. [00:19:36] Speaker C: Okay. [00:19:39] Speaker D: Cass can get across this quite easily. It's just how to assist everyone else. If we want to try and get a rope across or if we want [00:19:50] Speaker C: to try and fix the bridge, we could probably. If the bridge. [00:19:59] Speaker A: Bring your mic closer. [00:20:00] Speaker C: Sorry. If the bridge Was already there. I'm sure we could potentially. [00:20:09] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean, you. You feel like you could definitely fish this out and then put it back across the gap. Yeah. [00:20:17] Speaker C: Can I fish it out, please? [00:20:19] Speaker A: No. And you melt. [00:20:24] Speaker C: I did the axe test. [00:20:28] Speaker B: You're not an ax. [00:20:29] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:20:34] Speaker A: So, yeah, after, like Abe, you have to somewhat unceremoniously go like, get on your. Get on your belly so you can kind of reach down and sort of like you using your ax effectively, just kind of fish this bridge out slowly but surely. And is. Is. Was anyone helping or was everyone just kind of standing and watching? [00:20:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll. Once it's roughly in position, I'll. If you allow me, use vicious entangle to restrain it to the bank. [00:21:08] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. [00:21:09] Speaker C: Restrain it straight out. Wild animal. [00:21:15] Speaker B: You can't trust them slime bridges. [00:21:18] Speaker C: You never know. [00:21:20] Speaker A: In which case, yes, the. The vines kind of burst out of the. Like the natural rock underneath the flagstones and then kind of wrap up to them, kind of hold. Hold the bridge in place. And yeah, the. The way is open. Who. Who's the first up the stairs? [00:21:48] Speaker C: I think Abe would probably go last as he is the best, biggest and most like to break it. So everyone else would like to go first? [00:21:57] Speaker A: Sure. [00:21:58] Speaker E: I'm happy to volunteer as TR. [00:22:00] Speaker A: First little rat boy. [00:22:03] Speaker B: Okay. [00:22:04] Speaker D: Scary, scary. Cooper. [00:22:07] Speaker A: So Cooper. Cooper up first. Cass immediately behind. [00:22:10] Speaker D: Oh yeah, Cass will go behind. She's got two guns now. She's untouchable. [00:22:16] Speaker B: One in each hand [00:22:19] Speaker A: and then the. The rest of you. So. [00:22:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:22] Speaker A: Yeah, a blast. Okay, cool. So kick. Fran goes up, stands next to Griffin. Abe goes up last. So the six of you kind of move up onto this central. This is what I say, this triangular DS that juts out from the back wall. And the. The large double door in front of you has this kind of geometric like line work carving like engraving into it. They look. Cass, as an. Like an academic, as a researcher, you see that whilst some of this design is theoretic, well, it's either decorative or maybe it has some sort of hidden purpose. Like some hidden working. You're not entirely sure. But what you do notice is that around the. The designs there is little passages of script work that resonates with you. Like kind of glyphs, if you will, like runic. Runic phrases, runic powers. But at glance you don't. You're unable to comprehend. Like you don't understand the runes, that you don't understand the language. But upon. I mean, yeah, you're research, aren't you? Upon closer inspection, you realize that the Scripts like the language is very similar. Well, clearly has ties to what you would describe as the common tongue, like modern language. But you just get the impression that this text is like an archaic form. It's an ancient form of it. [00:24:40] Speaker D: Is there a sense that I would be able to translate it or is it [00:24:47] Speaker A: you feel like, like should like just being stood there looking at it? Probably not, but if you, the more script that you collect, the more like if you find any additional data, then you might be able to start linguistically breaking this down and kind of putting in the hard graft to be able to translate it. [00:25:15] Speaker D: Store it away in my mind palace. [00:25:18] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I guess the, the best way to describe this is if you or I or maybe any of the six of us stood in front of a door and it was covered in old Latin. Like we know that there's links, but we just don't know what those links are. But Cass, as you acknowledge this, as you're appearing at the door, Cooper, you're the one, like you're on point. Perhaps what catches your attention more is the fact that the door is slightly open. [00:26:08] Speaker E: I feel like, like he was ready to get out all of his like lock picking equipment and goes, oh, okay, door's open. Guess we should probably look inside. [00:26:24] Speaker F: Do you think there's going to be more of them in there? [00:26:28] Speaker E: If the door's open, it means they someone's opened it. [00:26:33] Speaker A: Well, I know that, but like, I [00:26:38] Speaker E: don't know, it could be that it's already been open since before these lot arrived, but can I double check? Dan, on the count, I know that we asked Goblin how many of them there were. I mean it's roughly 8. Could you remind me how many of them we encountered? I think it was like four or five. [00:27:05] Speaker A: I think it was like six. There was the Goblin, the ignorance Bright, The ace of our woman, the Keeper, the sergeant. You found five. [00:27:23] Speaker F: Okay, well, there was another person we [00:27:26] Speaker A: blew out the front. [00:27:29] Speaker D: I don't think they might have escaped across the. [00:27:33] Speaker A: Maybe rude. Well, yes, yes, yes. No, there was, there was. Yeah, so we, we didn't really. He didn't get that much screen time because he had a fireball thrown at him. Yes. You haven't counted six so far. [00:27:49] Speaker E: Okay, so I'll kind of reiterate like if we know there are eight, we've already found six. I assume the other two are in here, so [00:28:04] Speaker D: move carefully. [00:28:11] Speaker A: Okay, you jumping in? [00:28:15] Speaker C: Let's go. [00:28:15] Speaker E: Yeah, let's get there. [00:28:19] Speaker C: Okay. [00:28:20] Speaker A: Okay. [00:28:20] Speaker C: First peep you're at in. [00:28:23] Speaker A: So as you. The Doors like the door swings open with a. With a quiet grace that belies its size. You feel like you're expecting it to make like loud scraping stonework noises, but opens relatively smoothly. And immediately in front of you you find a. You find yourselves in this sort of like corridor made of the same white marble. You, as you glance around, you realize nearly everything is made of this white marble. And it's. You can't really see much in the way of like lines in the stonework. It's almost as if this whole area has been carved from a singular piece, perhaps a mountain sized piece of this marble. But in this corridor, there is a staircase that just descends down into the depths. And as you take a few steps. Cooper. As you take your first few steps forward, you see what appear to be sort of like they look like half bowls attached to the walls. And they begin emitting this cold white light in your presence. Okie dokie. [00:30:19] Speaker E: I think it's always weird when magic reacts like that. He's like, okay, okay, weird, spooky, spooky place. [00:30:30] Speaker F: Let's go. [00:30:31] Speaker E: Let's just do this. [00:30:33] Speaker C: Dan. [00:30:34] Speaker A: The. [00:30:35] Speaker B: I remember back before we bumped off the purple woman or at least got rid of it, the marble kind of had a, A bad vibe. Is there any of that here or is that entirely banished? As far as we can tell. [00:30:55] Speaker F: You, [00:30:58] Speaker A: yes. The, the, the marble that you're surrounded by has that same kind of inner ness, that same kind of null feeling for Malgorzorb was giving off the. The marble that kind of adorns the. The five of you now gives off. Oh, Jim's exploded. [00:31:27] Speaker C: Didn't like that. [00:31:31] Speaker A: Didn't like that whatsoever. So. But yeah, for the, for the rest of you, yes, the, the marble seems largely inert. Welcome back to. [00:31:50] Speaker B: Thank you very much. [00:31:51] Speaker A: Yes, the marble, the marble around you gives off that same like. Whereas before, like what you described as like bad vibes. It's all, it's that similar, almost like anti feeling like that. It's, it's a, It's a lack. It's a notable lack of aura. If you will. [00:32:19] Speaker B: Can I also make my horrid rabbit please while we're here? [00:32:22] Speaker A: Yes, you can. Absolutely can. I will bring out your binky. Are you spending a. Hope to make it a winged binky? [00:32:32] Speaker B: Nah, just binky classic today, please. [00:32:34] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Binky Mark, wand ready. [00:32:39] Speaker D: Salted binky. [00:32:42] Speaker B: Yeah, no need for winky today. [00:32:47] Speaker A: So as you, as you begin descending down this stairwell, eventually the stairs, the, the staircase itself begins to widen as the walls get. Begin to kind of curve away from one another until you find yourselves emerging into this what can only be described as, like, a hall. There are carved pillars of this white marble that run, like, two. Two rows of them that run away from you along the sort of, like, either side of the middle of this. Of this hall towards an archway at the far end. And you can see, like, as you. As you go down the steps, like, the lights illuminate where you are and dim when you kind of pass them by. And so, like, leave them behind. Cooper, what is in this. In this hall of white marble with. You know, there's a. There's bands of kind of decorative metal striping across some of the walls, up some of the pillars. What's the thing that catches your notice in this hallway? [00:34:26] Speaker E: I feel like the decorative pillars all have some sort of. They have, like, maybe similar scripture or carvings in that are similar to what was on the original door. Maybe like us, like some sort of, like, storytelling. Like, I imagine, like hieroglyphics. [00:34:47] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:48] Speaker E: A little bit in the pillars, which I imagine on closer inspection would probably on all the pillars tell some sort of story about the mountain or something. That's. That's what I'm thinking. [00:35:04] Speaker A: Okay. Well, yes, you definitely see the script. You. It catches your notice because these kind of. This script work now that you're in this hall. Unlike what sort of unlike on the door. On the front door. These runes glow with a. Like a jade green hue. And they. You. They pulse, like, slowly almost. And you. To watch the pulse of the. Of the glow of the runes. It feels like you're watching a slow and even heartbeat. [00:35:48] Speaker E: Okay, thank you. [00:35:51] Speaker F: Thank you. [00:35:52] Speaker E: That's a no from me, but okay. [00:35:54] Speaker C: Thanks. [00:35:56] Speaker A: What's. What catches night. What catches Nate's notice? What catches Griffin's notice? [00:36:05] Speaker F: I don't think anything's going to catch his notice. He's gonna go up to Abe and sort of going off the back of [00:36:14] Speaker A: what I'll be supposed. [00:36:17] Speaker F: Sort of going off what Tim said just a moment ago. Griffin's gonna ask Abyss. Do you. Do you think that woman's down here? [00:36:29] Speaker E: What woman? [00:36:31] Speaker A: You know, that. [00:36:32] Speaker F: You know, when you walk over when we heard that voice. [00:36:38] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:36:39] Speaker E: Do you think. [00:36:40] Speaker F: Do you think she's down here? [00:36:43] Speaker C: Me, I don't know. Well, just. [00:36:50] Speaker D: Everyone else. [00:36:55] Speaker E: You were that, like, you spoke. [00:36:58] Speaker F: You spoke to her. [00:37:02] Speaker C: Well, I don't know. Me, I don't feel like she's here because last time she was. She was all like, oh, hello, I'm purple, and I feel like she would probably make her presence known again, wouldn't she? Maybe. [00:37:18] Speaker F: Maybe. [00:37:18] Speaker C: I don't know. What do you think? [00:37:20] Speaker F: I don't know. This place is like. Feels like someone's like down here and not like. Not like the people we just well beat up. [00:37:33] Speaker C: No, he does. It is a bit. Oh, sorry. Sorry. Yeah, it feels a bit. Yeah. Mausoleum. [00:37:52] Speaker B: Mr. Dam, can I have a little. A little look about to see if there's any, you know, scuff marks, recent footprints in dust, etc, see if anyone has passed this way lately? [00:38:06] Speaker A: You know what? You absolutely can. [00:38:11] Speaker B: So generous. [00:38:12] Speaker A: I know I will. Yes. You know what? We won't even need. Well, Guardi, how are you? How are you going about the search? Are you. So fundamentally, you guys would have reached the bottom of this kind of fanned out, this fanning stairwell, the staircase onto this sort of like smooth marble floor to say there's the columns running down the room like a, you know, a third of the way into the room from either wall. Gardy, are you kind of pressing on ahead a little bit just to get a bit more of a scope, or are you kind of watching from afar? [00:38:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll get a little ahead and get down close to the floor, see if I can see anything. [00:39:05] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, no need to roll because as you go a bit further behind one of these pillars, you find a. I guess the words to use is mangled Imperial soldier. [00:39:31] Speaker F: Okay. [00:39:32] Speaker A: Mangled in so much as [00:39:37] Speaker E: the. [00:39:39] Speaker A: It is clear that something large struck this soldier. Like his legs. Like his legs are both broken. One at the knee, one at the upper thigh. The, The. The. There's a. An enormous dent in the armor plating on the chest. And you can't help but get the feeling, given your, you know, prowess with healing, that whatever struck this soldier. Clear. And like by engaging by the scuff marks, like whatever struck this soldier did it with enough force of this soldier that his armor folded like Tim. Like paper and the soldier was flung across this hallway to end up where he is. [00:40:39] Speaker B: Can I give him a little grab and see if he's still warm? [00:40:44] Speaker A: He is [00:40:49] Speaker B: alive. [00:40:50] Speaker A: No. [00:40:51] Speaker B: Okay. [00:40:53] Speaker A: Gun. The gun, the firearm, the imperial firearm has been bent. Clearly this soldier brought it up to his chest to try and parry whatever struck him. And it has folded that. That framework in almost into a V. [00:41:18] Speaker B: And then it fell into a nearby bucket of acid and then down a well. [00:41:29] Speaker C: How big is this room that we're. Is this hall that we're in? Because if this thing was very large, how large are we? [00:41:41] Speaker A: So the hallway that you find this room that you find yourself in. You know what Abe, how big is it? [00:41:53] Speaker C: Oh, it's tiny. [00:41:56] Speaker A: Everyone's got his hands on these. [00:41:58] Speaker C: It's Abe is just his commando just crawling. [00:42:03] Speaker A: No one else is. [00:42:08] Speaker B: It's quite large, but it's just a. [00:42:14] Speaker C: I say it's reason for grab. It's a large. It's a. Tall ceilings. [00:42:19] Speaker A: I mean I'm. [00:42:20] Speaker C: Tall ceilings for where you are. Where we are. Yeah. [00:42:26] Speaker A: Yeah. I think. I think very much so. Like the ceiling is shrouded in darkness. You can see the. The ceiling there. It's a bit of. There's a bit of an arched like an arch ceiling thing going on. But like someone could. If someone was clambering across the ceiling, it would be hard to spot them. That's how high up it is. And the. The cold glow from these kind of sconces that illuminate as you walk past doesn't quite reach up to the ceiling. I guess in my head I'm picturing the width wise the. This. This hall is probably kind of 40 to 60ft wide. [00:43:10] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah. [00:43:14] Speaker A: Quite. [00:43:15] Speaker C: Quite mountain. [00:43:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:43:17] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:43:18] Speaker A: But I say the. These. These columns run down the hall and then at the far end of this. Of this hall is an arch, an open archway into another room beyond. [00:43:30] Speaker D: Is there any sign anywhere of more of this writing that we saw before? [00:43:37] Speaker A: So yes, there is the script work kind of up and down the pillars. And at a cursor like as are you. Do you want to investigate the script work? [00:43:54] Speaker D: Yes. I think Cass's explorer, investigator brain is. Is itching at this and she wants to know if it's. If it's a warning, if it's information about what's to come, we should probably know what it is. Especially if there are now dead bodies in here. [00:44:11] Speaker A: So we've already ascertained that it's an old script. So it's similar but not. I will ask for a. I think it's gonna have to be a knowledge check. If you're. Because you're analyzing, you're trying to comprehend. [00:44:29] Speaker D: Yeah. Can I use my community, my lawborn well read [00:44:35] Speaker A: leave with law with well read. [00:44:39] Speaker D: Or is that just from like it's [00:44:41] Speaker A: of a prominent person or place. [00:44:44] Speaker C: Ah. [00:44:44] Speaker D: And this is not a prominent personality. We had to walk very far to get here. [00:44:51] Speaker A: I mean this is well and truly unknown. This is frontier stuff. [00:44:55] Speaker D: I mean I have well traveled and researcher. So this is technically Cass's bread and butter before everything that happened to her. This is the kind of thing that she'd be doing. [00:45:05] Speaker A: I think you'd certainly be able to use one of your experiences. Absolutely. Much in the same way that if we were trying to translate Italian, you being a polyglot would be useful. [00:45:22] Speaker D: Cool. So I can. That's a knowledge roll. I will do researcher. [00:45:33] Speaker F: Nice. Nice [00:45:36] Speaker A: chunky roll [00:45:39] Speaker D: for big brain. [00:45:41] Speaker A: 27 with FIA. So 27 is definitely good. So I say you're unable. You wouldn't be able to understand specifically what it says. But as you gauge the structure of these runes, the layout of these runes, you quickly realize you've spent quite a lot of time in Overmore. Right? Yeah. There is a moment. It's a glasses off, my God. Moment when you realize that the room. The. The runic glyphs that you're seeing around are almost identical to runic patterns that you see being taught to mages in Avon. Specifically. These are glyphs of, like, warding of abjuration. These are containment glyphs. [00:46:57] Speaker D: Oh, great. [00:47:01] Speaker A: And as you explore, like, stair these up and down, like as focused in on it as you are, Perhaps, perhaps you jump ever so slightly when you see, like, a relatively slight, slender hand run its fing fingers across the rooms. Oh, we traded. We traded a feo For Georgia. [00:47:34] Speaker E: I'm guessing that might be due to our cat, but. Okay. I think she's probably still listening. [00:47:39] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Like fingers trace along the runes and K. Fran, like, turns his head to Cass. And I told. I told you that this place contained great power. [00:48:06] Speaker D: I'm sorry, Dan. I missed all of that. [00:48:12] Speaker A: Yes. So, like, as you. As you kind of lean in, you're sort of like decid cipher, like, analyzing these runes, I can only imagine you jump ever so slightly when this hand appears and rubs its fingers across the brickwork. And yeah, Kick Fran turns his head to you. And I told you this place contained great power. [00:48:39] Speaker D: That goblin upstairs, he said it was holding something. [00:48:47] Speaker A: Kick Fran. I'll let you tell me how you feel when. As you say this to Kick Fran. And then he, like, turns his head to you. And then there is the slightest glimmer of a smile. That pause at the edge of his mouth, like an excited smile. [00:49:11] Speaker D: What do you know? What are we gonna find down here? [00:49:18] Speaker A: Kig? Fran puts his glove back on. And. As I. As I said, I am unsure as to specifically what is down here, but whatever is to be found will be well worth finding. Especially if these soldiers wish to. Wish to find it first. [00:49:55] Speaker D: You know what? Next door we go through. You're going first. [00:50:04] Speaker A: Kick Fran. KickFran sort of like turns to you and there's Like a. Like a relatively stoic, firm look. Cooper, you certainly see this from across the way. But then before kid friend gets to respond, the six of you hear a boy burst of commotion. A noise of panic, notably of the sounds of wailing screams coming from further in the hallway. And there is a loud reverberant. That shakes the ground under your feet. And you feel almost as if the columns themselves are shaking. And I gain a fear from your role. And then I spend a fear. And kick Fran looks to. Looks to you first, Cass. And then kind of casts his. His kind of non gaze across the rest of you. I think they know we're here. He says. And the defense system clock Counts up to 1. [00:51:36] Speaker C: Defense system. [00:51:37] Speaker D: Defense system. [00:51:41] Speaker A: So. So we will. Yes, it seems that there is something happening further in. We. It seems like you get like you. The activity. You can hear this activity getting louder. What sort of disappearing into the distance. Begging pardon, but you get the impression that you've just heard an alarm like ring out through this vault and yeah. Kick Fran in case. In case it hadn't occurred. If we like if we. If we dally too long, the defenders of this place will do to us what they did to him. He says, pointing towards the. The crumpled corpse of the imperial soldier. [00:52:37] Speaker C: Right, let's get going then. [00:52:40] Speaker A: So he explains to you it would be. We should make it a priority to get what we need. What get what we came to get. What we came here to find. But if along the way where we find ways of disabling this security, we should. I suspect that whatever is held. Held here is. Will be protected by locks and mechanisms. So we will have to find a way to gain access to our prize. And as promised, whilst I am here for one for something in particular, anything else along the way is yours. So we now have a disabled security clock, a gain access clock and a loot clock. I will also point out that the fence system clock does not have an upper limit. So cool. As. Yeah. As this sort of like loud booming alarm like fades away, leaving a ringing in your ears. What's the plan? [00:54:05] Speaker C: Let's go next door. Let's go. I think because we know that there's guns, Abe will take himself to the door to the next door and the human shield as we go through. [00:54:25] Speaker F: Okay, wait, wait, wait. Before you go, Griffin's just gonna tap you on the shoulder and go like good talk and give you inspirational word to clear one of your hit points. [00:54:40] Speaker C: Oh, thank [00:54:44] Speaker A: you. So Abe, as you head up to the door at the far end of this, what Is effectively like an entry hallway. You find yourself in this. It looks like a domed room, but the immediate like in front of you. So sorry, it's a circular room with a like a domed ceiling overhead. But, but in front of you is this like this large, this large cylinder, like a large cylindrical column that like runs from the ceiling down to the floor. The. This cylinder in itself is a good 60 odd feet in diameter. The. And this, what is effectively what's left is like a ring around it. Like the rest of the room creates a ring around it. And there's a good sort of like 20 foot of space either side of this cylinder. So for all extensive purposes, you're in a, you're in a ring shaped room with a cylinder running through the middle of it. And there's about 20 like cylinders 60 foot across and then there's 20 foot either side for you to run around. You can hear the sound of combat like happening further, further beyond. There are a number of like, now that you're in this room, you can see that whilst there are a number of doorways leading off from this chamber, a number of them seem to have like, like the, the marble has broken and collapsed down, blocking off a number of these kind of routes are out, leaving only a couple of other kind of doorways off from this ring road, this ring room. That makes sense. Okay, so in this moment I say you can't like there's no one around. The sound of gunfire seems to be getting further away. But yeah. Do you want to search for a way to disable security? Do you want to search for a way to gain access to like whatever it is you're trying to gain access to? Or do you want to look for shinies? [00:57:15] Speaker C: No, I think I'll look for some sort of disabling security system. Is there a panel, Ancient security panel. [00:57:30] Speaker A: So the walls, the walls of this, of this room look very much like what this map that is shown here. So there are, there are columns that sort of like follow the curvature of this dome. Equidistant, distant, like equidistant distances. Some of the. Between some pillars there are doorways. The vast majority of them have been collapsed in on. But you notice that there's no. I mean, yeah, it's just smooth marble. A continuous smooth marble. The only thing of note is that you see that around these central like cylindrical column, like this cylindrical mass in the middle that is there are what appear to be this sort of like silverish metal banding that wraps seemingly around the, the circumference of this cylinder. [00:58:42] Speaker E: Can I. Can I check out the metal banding? See if there's anything trap related or like as someone with street kids, you know, rogish experience. Is it something that I can tinker with? [00:59:00] Speaker A: As you approach Cooper, Runes in a like a jade light begin to glow as you approach. And they get brighter the closer you approach. [00:59:15] Speaker E: Okay. Can I roll to see if it's like me or like where I'm standing that causes like. I'm just trying to figure out if there's a route towards it that doesn't fill me with fear. [00:59:39] Speaker A: So if you plant your feet like it's. It's. It's the back. The runes in front of you are glowing. The runes immediately in front of your outstretched hand glow brighter. And as you pull your hand back, they dim. And then they get brighter again when you bring your hand closer again. So it seems like it is a proximity thing. [01:00:01] Speaker E: Okay. [01:00:03] Speaker A: Like you get the impression that whatever that is is protecting this cylinder, this pillar, let's say pillar. I say it's like 60 foot across. [01:00:21] Speaker E: I'm just wondering if I can we say 60 foot across. Is it something that you can jump onto? [01:00:28] Speaker A: No, it goes from floor to ceiling to ceiling. [01:00:31] Speaker E: Okay, cool. [01:00:32] Speaker C: Okay. Would I have anything in my pockets? [01:00:38] Speaker A: Depends on what you would hope to have in your pockets. [01:00:41] Speaker C: Is pine cone? [01:00:44] Speaker A: Yes. [01:00:46] Speaker C: A conquer. [01:00:47] Speaker A: Yes. I mean there's. There's certainly like. There's pebble like rocks and rubble. If you. Yeah. If at the very least chuck it [01:00:55] Speaker E: and see what happens to it. [01:00:56] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:00:56] Speaker F: Don't throw away your favorite conquer. [01:00:58] Speaker C: Yeah. Have a little look. No, not that one. Put up. Yeah. Can I throw a stone pebble something to as close as the. To the pillar as possible. [01:01:13] Speaker A: You hoof this. This rock like this hand size. The fifth size rock at the central. This central kind of 60 foot pillar. Before the rock hits it, it explodes in a blast of green light. Green light. [01:01:32] Speaker C: Just nods. [01:01:33] Speaker E: Yeah. I look at Ave and go that's great. That could have been me. Thank [01:01:42] Speaker C: for nothing. [01:01:44] Speaker A: I feel that whatever we're looking for lies within that kick. Francis. So I asked we. We return to the. The important question. Are we disabling and looking to disable the security to gain access or to loot. [01:02:10] Speaker E: Disable security makes the most sense. Yeah. [01:02:16] Speaker D: Can I do something I've not actually ever done before, which I realize now is an incredibly useful skill that Cass has just put in her back pocket this entire time. And it feels like it would probably be useful. Can I channel raw power? [01:02:31] Speaker A: Yes. [01:02:32] Speaker D: As once per long rest, you can place a domain card from your loadout into your vault and choose to either gain hope equal to the level of the card and a bunch of other things. But my intent right now is gaining hope equal to the level of the card because I sense that some. Some bits are going to need to be done at some point soon and I have no hope. [01:02:52] Speaker A: Yes, you absolutely can. [01:02:53] Speaker D: Hope is always grand. [01:02:55] Speaker A: Yes, yes, absolutely. Yeah. But burn the card and then you can. Yeah, gain the hope. [01:03:01] Speaker D: Yeah. Can I burn Dark Whispers, please? I think that is six hope, which [01:03:06] Speaker A: is shoot you up to six. [01:03:08] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:03:13] Speaker A: Okay. Tell you what. What's Gardy. What's Garni doing? Abe's throwing rocks at walls. Was not getting flirting with walls. What's Gardy doing? [01:03:34] Speaker B: What are. I mean, other than the big pillar. What are our. What are our options? [01:03:40] Speaker A: Well, so the. The only. I guess the only thing of note, what appears to be a real. A current. Currently a real threat to your security, are the sounds of Imperial firearms which have very recently gone quiet. But yeah, perhaps like in terms of known quantities, you know that there are some Imperials nearby. So if you wanted to like we say disabled security I guess is. [01:04:16] Speaker E: It's more. [01:04:17] Speaker A: You could almost think of it as a lower threat. But if you wanted to hunt the roaming enemies in this dungeon, that would make things safer. [01:04:29] Speaker B: Does sound useful. Maybe I'll. I'll send out. I'll send out Binky to have a little scout in the direction of the soldier noises, see what we find. [01:04:42] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Does Binky have stats for rolling this sort of thing or communicate. Come on. Spell cast to command them to perform simple tasks and stress to see through their eyes. Okay. So yeah, roll me a. Roll me a spell cast. Roll. [01:05:02] Speaker B: There it is. [01:05:03] Speaker A: If you want to roll a. Make a stretch. You can see through his eyes as he goes. Lovely. [01:05:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll mark a stress to do that. My. Yeah, I'll use me fearless couple of stress to swap that to a hope because I'm desperate for a Hope. [01:05:23] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So 19 with Hope. So you gave him hope. So Binky kind of hops around this large 60 foot column and there's a doorway pretty much on the like if you were at 6 o', clock, this column is at this doorway is sort of like one o'. Clock. And as Binky kind of peers through like hiding behind some. Some rubble that's fallen from the ceiling, he sees what appears to be a squadron of Imperial soldiers. They are. They're currently. They're currently tended. Attending to two crumpled forms of fellow Imperial soldiers. And with your eyes peering through binkies, it is abundantly climbing clear that the two soldiers are like these of. Of the eight. These two soldiers are no longer among the living and they seem to have been similarly kind of crumpled. [01:06:41] Speaker B: Okay, so we got six up. Do they look injured? [01:06:47] Speaker A: The six look panicked. Some one of them appears to be sort of like holding her arm, but like whatever it was that attacked them, like you cannot see hair nor hide of that. But yeah, these. These Imperial soldiers look like they're on high alert and like you can seem like furtively looking over their shoulders to see if anything else is coming. But yeah, they. There are Imperial soldiers nearby if you want to engage them. [01:07:21] Speaker B: Hey, what do you think, gang? Six of them, six of us [01:07:29] Speaker C: and Binky. [01:07:31] Speaker B: Seven of us. Good point. [01:07:33] Speaker A: Okay, so who's if like the six would be happy to go around and engage with these Imperials before chance to recoup through them? [01:07:43] Speaker B: I'm just. Before we go in, I'm just gonna give. Give Abe a little touch [01:07:50] Speaker C: today. I love it. [01:07:53] Speaker B: Using my regenerative reach so I don't have to actually touch him. Healing. Have a couple of healings. [01:08:10] Speaker C: Oh, thank you. [01:08:11] Speaker A: Two hit points. Okay. Very very good. In which case. Yeah. As the rest of you join Binky Binky at the front of this war party. Yes. As you peer around the the doorway, you in fact you. You see like the cold white light of the sconces glowing like reflecting off there now dusty dented, but still relatively polished metal armor. And as you have successfully scouted them and taking them unawares. Who wants to throw hands first? [01:09:01] Speaker C: Me. Let me throw. [01:09:05] Speaker A: Okay. So let me start the encounter. Okay. So. So no need to worry too much about like where the tokens are. It's primarily just for. Just for show. Yeah. As you kind of peer around the corner, you see these six Imperials like turn to like turn their heads and look at you. What do you do? [01:09:29] Speaker C: I'm gonna rush them. [01:09:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:09:32] Speaker C: They've got guns. I've got an axe. But if I'm fast enough, I believe I can smash a couple of them out. [01:09:38] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely. [01:09:40] Speaker C: I would like to roll. 15. [01:09:52] Speaker A: A 15 with fear. So Abe, you go charging in and as you. You swing. But the. The Imperial soldier, you swing for like jumps back and the ax swings just in front of his visor. [01:10:10] Speaker F: Would you like me to play a song so you can have a rally dice? [01:10:16] Speaker C: Yeah. Play with a song. Yeah. [01:10:20] Speaker A: Would you like to spend a rally dice, Abe? [01:10:22] Speaker C: Yeah, I want to spend the rally dice. [01:10:24] Speaker A: Okay. Spend your rally dice is it D [01:10:27] Speaker C: D8 8 now isn't it? [01:10:29] Speaker F: And you get to have a hope or clear a stress. [01:10:33] Speaker C: I will clear a stress. Please. 1560. 17. [01:10:38] Speaker A: 17 is a hit. [01:10:47] Speaker C: Thank you very much. [01:10:49] Speaker A: So I also took up a fear. [01:10:54] Speaker C: 27. [01:10:55] Speaker A: 27. Oh bloody hell. So Abe, as you catch these Imperial soldiers mostly unawares, you manage to like body slam the first. The ax comes through, takes out a second, kick out, take out a third. That is severe damage to this squadron. And there was only three left. As. But as that happens, play passes to me like at the sound of combat ringing out again, there is another [01:11:40] Speaker C: that [01:11:40] Speaker A: reverberates through the vault. I will spend a fear to increase the defense systems by one. And who. Who's at the back of who's furthest from the doorway? Like who's at the back of the group? Do [01:12:00] Speaker C: you. [01:12:01] Speaker D: I suppose if Cass was looking at the looking for more signs of the text around the new section, it would have come last. [01:12:10] Speaker A: Okay. In which case Cass, as you hear like you have to flinch slightly as this loud boom kind of ring like rattles your brain. You look up and you see what appears to be a moat of kind of jade green light appear like a few feet from you. And you watch as this light kind of stretches vertically. And then it begins expanding on all axes until you are almost kind of blinded by this huge flash of white green light. And as you blink a few times to get a bit to get your get a sense of what's happening in front of you is a construct as tall as Abe made of this same glossy white marble material that the rest of this vault is made of. It has in lieu of a face, it has these panels with kind of jade green gems. But it's almost like three heads, three thin faces side by side. These large shoulder pads with this a metal banding similar to the protective banding that wraps around the central pillar. The shoulder pads kind of dwarf like reach up and dwarf over this creature's so called head. And clutched in its fist is a large hammer with a green. A crackling jade green gem at the. At the front of it between the two hammerheads. And as this golem materializes, it looks to you and there's a noise that emits from it. And I'm gonna go ahead and activate that guardian golem. And as looks to the five of you gathered, it looks to the commotion which is Abe and the Imperial soldiers. And I'm gonna spend a fear. To ask if Abe can make a an agility reaction roll please. As will the Remaining soldiers [01:14:59] Speaker C: and Binky. Not. [01:15:04] Speaker A: Not Binky, thankfully. So the soldiers have rolled a 12, And Abe has rolled a 12. So in which case, Abe, distracted as you are sort of like wading into these soldiers, this golem hefts the warhammer aloft, and the crackling green gem on the end glows brightly. And this bolt of green light arcs at is Lord out of the end of the hammer. It arcs over Cooper Griffin Cass's guard, his heads to land in amongst the Imperial soldiers position. Unfortunately, both of those reaction rolls for yourself and for the soldiers were fails. So you take. Where's the. Where's the dices? [01:16:05] Speaker C: The d. Let me roll. [01:16:07] Speaker A: Let me roll. You take 36 damage. [01:16:17] Speaker C: 36. I'm gonna have to take a health point. [01:16:21] Speaker A: And I suffice to say, the Imperial Squadron is obliterated. [01:16:30] Speaker C: Well, that's how to give them. [01:16:33] Speaker A: But also, Abe, the explosion knocks you backwards towards your companions. It knocks you a full. Like, it knocks you to close range. So you're. You're launched across the ground back. Your launch back was a good 15, 20ft to then sort of like crash in amongst the rest. And as you sort of like your world is blurry and like, you can see like, light spots in your eyes, and as you kind of look upwards, you can see this golem kind of bearing down over the six of you. Plus pinky. Yes, that's. That's the golem's term for now. Who wants to go next? [01:17:18] Speaker E: I'm happy to have a go if anyone else wants to go. I think it's probably time for Cooper to. To Crossbow. This thing. I want to try and get out of its eye of sight. So I'm technically cloaked. So I think. Yeah, I'm trying to think of the Where. Where would be the best place for. For Cooper to be. [01:17:43] Speaker A: So I guess for all extents and purposes, you guys are kind of crowded around the doorway of one of these corridors off the central ring room. This golem has materialized between yourselves and the central pillar. So it's like, further into the ring room. So if you were to duck into the door through the doorway that Abe's just been launched out of, you'll be able to like, hide behind the door. Like, hide behind the rubble. Yeah, yeah. You can also see that these. Yeah, the. The Imperial soldiers are just. They're just. Yeah. Obliterated. [01:18:22] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:18:23] Speaker A: Okay. [01:18:24] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm gonna do just that then. So I'm gonna try and like, find somewhere to take cover. And then I want to. Looking. I look at the rifle that I have in my hand and realize that the screeching is not going to help me, and I put it away and I take my. My trusty crossbow out to use my crossbow this time. So, yeah, so we're gonna do that and crossbow. I have a hope, so I'm going to use excellent aim. Okay, we're gonna roll and see what happens. [01:18:59] Speaker F: Oh, it's nice. [01:19:00] Speaker E: It's a 23 with hope. [01:19:02] Speaker A: 23 with hope. You take your hope and you hit. [01:19:07] Speaker E: Fantastic. So, yep. So roll damage. So that's my usual damage. And then because it's a 3, and [01:19:17] Speaker A: I've updated your macro so you can now just click sneak attack. [01:19:22] Speaker E: Really exciting times. So I think that just lets me roll that. Does that work? Incredible. Okay, so it's 14 plus 9. [01:19:37] Speaker A: So 23 damage. The bolt bites deep in, like cracks through the marble shell of this golem, and it rocks it slightly. That is major damage. [01:19:52] Speaker E: Nice. [01:19:54] Speaker A: So that was Cooper's turn. Who wants to go after Cooper? Bear in mind, we're in, like, put your hands up in the tracker so I can jump to you quickly. [01:20:05] Speaker B: I love a little. I love a little tangle. [01:20:08] Speaker A: Go, Go [01:20:10] Speaker C: Tangle. [01:20:11] Speaker B: I think attack. Go. [01:20:22] Speaker A: A 14 spell casting a 14 with hope. You get your hope. But that is a miss. Do you want to spend your rally dice? [01:20:31] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that sounds great. I will use it to clear a stress D8. Right? Lovely. [01:20:40] Speaker C: Thank you. [01:20:43] Speaker B: Oh, no, you never know. [01:20:46] Speaker A: 16 with Hope is a miss, unfortunately. So is it the vines? [01:20:54] Speaker B: Yeah, it's the grabby vines. [01:20:56] Speaker A: Okay, so Gi, as you go to sort of like as. As you go to conjure the vines to grab at this golem, much like you did the earth elemental up at the standing stones once upon a time, the. The vines that. That kind of work their way out of the cracks in the marble just seem significantly like frailer, like thinner, weaker than normal. And there is a part of you that realizes that the vines are only coming out between the cracks in the marble. And perhaps the. This sort of like innate null void, anti magic nature of this marble is perhaps affecting the spell in a way. But the vines kind of reach up to the golem as they wrap around it. It just move. Begins walking towards the six of you, seemingly unfazed. I'm gonna activate the golem a second time off the back of the miss. And it will. Who will it? Fortunately, Cass is the closest to it. We've already established that. So, Cass, you. As you look up, this. This golem just strides through like the vine snap around its knees as it walks towards you and come out. [01:22:29] Speaker C: They grow. [01:22:33] Speaker A: It swings at you for an 11. [01:22:37] Speaker D: That's what I think. One sec. [01:22:41] Speaker A: Is that your evasion? [01:22:42] Speaker D: That is my evasion, but it's your [01:22:44] Speaker A: evasion, in which case you are caught by the large kind of hammer that it swings round. You take. 16 damage. [01:23:02] Speaker D: Cool. [01:23:03] Speaker A: And you are launched by the hammer blow 5, 10ft backwards. [01:23:14] Speaker D: Cool. [01:23:14] Speaker A: And the rest of you. That. The other. The other five of you realize that whatever. Like the Imperial soldier that you found in the hallway probably got hit by one of those. Do you want to spend any armor to reduce that? [01:23:32] Speaker D: No, I'll just take that. That's. That is major damage for me. [01:23:38] Speaker A: Okay, so that is the. Yeah, the guard. And then as you all watch as Cass is sort of, like, ragdolled through [01:23:47] Speaker D: the air like a Skyrim NPC [01:23:52] Speaker A: on a successful attack, I gain a fear. [01:23:56] Speaker C: Oh. [01:23:59] Speaker A: So who wants to go next? [01:24:02] Speaker D: Can Cass go next from the floor? [01:24:04] Speaker A: Absolutely, [01:24:09] Speaker D: I think. I mean, if Cass will cast Preservation Blast right back at it. I don't think there's anything else I can do with that. No, that's just. [01:24:25] Speaker A: So are you kind of getting back up and running over to it? So it's a melee. Yep. [01:24:30] Speaker C: Okay. [01:24:32] Speaker A: Okay. [01:24:36] Speaker D: Power of sheer indignation. [01:24:40] Speaker A: An 18 with hope is a hit. [01:24:43] Speaker C: Nice. [01:24:45] Speaker A: So, yeah, what's the damage? [01:24:47] Speaker D: Preservation blast is D8 plus 3. [01:24:52] Speaker A: So if you hit the roll damage button, and then that will. [01:24:55] Speaker D: Yep. Wait one sec. Sorry. My. [01:24:59] Speaker A: My stuff is under the. The in chat. Under your roll, it should have a roll damage button. [01:25:08] Speaker D: I see it. It was hidden from me. Oh, no, I don't see it. [01:25:13] Speaker A: Do you. Do you trust me? [01:25:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:25:25] Speaker A: 16 damage. [01:25:27] Speaker D: Nice. Okay, I trust you, Dan. I trust you now. [01:25:29] Speaker A: Okay, so, 16 damage. And it's blasted away too far, isn't it? Okay, so in which case, yeah, this. This golem strides forward, like, smacks you back, like, five, ten feet cast. And as you sort of like, land in a crumple, in a blink of an eye, you're up. You're back up to the golem. What does this look like? [01:25:53] Speaker D: Cooper just hears this very familiar, like, exasperated. And she's up on her feet like her bun is unraveling. She's clearly taken some damage. But the look of outrage in her eye as she storms forward and just hits it right back with a blast. [01:26:18] Speaker C: Yeah, okay. [01:26:20] Speaker A: In which case, yeah, this golem sort of like, hunk well, or kind of looms over you as you run up and blast it, but it is. I mean, it has no face. It's got no Emotion. But it's almost. It's almost comedic how it's lifted up and sort of, like, rotates slightly as you launch it to far range. So this golem is lifted feet off the ground, soars backwards, collides with the central pillar, which flashes with the. [01:26:52] Speaker F: The. [01:26:52] Speaker A: The jade green light, and then it just sort of like Rick, like, clatters to the marble stonework at far range. So it's quite. Quite a way away [01:27:05] Speaker C: than. [01:27:06] Speaker A: It takes minor damage, so. Takes a point of damage. Yeah. Cass, you've just put quite a lot of distance between you and it. If the six of you wanted to take this opportunity to scarper, you absolutely can, because it's got this. It doesn't look like it moves particularly quickly, or if you want to press the assault and, like, keep attacking it while it's down. But it is at far range now. [01:27:37] Speaker D: What are we thinking, gang? Are we running? Are we fighting? Are we kicking it? [01:27:41] Speaker B: N. If we don't fight it now, we're gonna have to fight it later. [01:27:45] Speaker D: It's. It's gonna nemesis us, isn't it? [01:27:47] Speaker C: It's just gonna keep going. [01:27:48] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:27:49] Speaker B: We'll be trying to find, like, a crank, and it'll come through a. [01:27:55] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. In which case, after that successful attack, then do you. Do you want to keep the initiative, Cass, or pass on? [01:28:05] Speaker D: No, Castle. Cass is done. Cass is breathing heavily. [01:28:08] Speaker A: Okay. Go, Griffin, go. [01:28:12] Speaker F: Griffin was seeing how Gardi was trying how to. To do his vines and was almost going to cast Mystic Tether to also try and do the same. But now that Cats has just, like, vaulted it into very far, he's just kind of gone. Fireball it is, then. [01:28:29] Speaker A: It's only far if that. That matters. [01:28:31] Speaker F: No. Well, if it's very far, I can still get it with Fireball. [01:28:36] Speaker A: Okay. Fireball, Fireball. [01:28:40] Speaker F: I'm gonna do my usual knowledge of arcane magic for a hope to add a little bit more onto there. [01:28:54] Speaker A: 17 with Hope. [01:28:55] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:28:58] Speaker A: Hits. [01:28:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:29:01] Speaker A: So it needs to make a reaction roll. 13. [01:29:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:29:09] Speaker A: On the nose. [01:29:11] Speaker F: On the nose. So still off down the chest. Oh, that was a 19 as well, but it hit. [01:29:19] Speaker A: Damn it. So 25 is half to 12. So as you launch this fireball towards the golem, the golem is already sort of, like, picking itself up, and then with its left hand, it kind of puts a hand up to protect it, and the fireball detonates over what appears to be be this jade green force field that it kind of conjures to deflect majority of the attack. That said, that is still Minor damage. So it takes another point of hit points. Takes another hit point. Do. Griffin, do you want to keep the initiative? [01:30:02] Speaker F: I mean, you said it's in far range. [01:30:04] Speaker C: Yes. [01:30:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:30:05] Speaker A: Okay. [01:30:06] Speaker F: I might as well then do mystic tether, then see if I can restrain it. [01:30:09] Speaker A: Okay. [01:30:15] Speaker F: It's in this one. [01:30:20] Speaker A: Do a little rolly. Go for it. 18:18 with hope is a hit. [01:30:30] Speaker F: Say you are temporally restrained and you must mark a stress. [01:30:34] Speaker A: Okay, so what, your mystic tether is like, red. [01:30:40] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:30:41] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:30:42] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, as it sort of like holds its hand up to deflect against the fireball, it's distracted. How are you. How are you binding it? Are you just sort of like wrapping its legs together, brings arm in or. [01:30:56] Speaker F: I'm trying to sort of bring in sort of like its arms together towards its waist. [01:31:01] Speaker A: Sure. In which case, yeah, the arms are pulled together and like, the golem tries to rise is it tries to stand up. It's on. It's on sort of like one knee, trying to pull strain against the. The mystic tether. But it is successfully bound and restrained. Yay. So go, Guardi, go. [01:31:29] Speaker B: Okay, first of all, I will say Binky. Second, [01:31:34] Speaker A: I just realized all this time, aim's on the floor with birds going around his head. [01:31:39] Speaker C: Still loud. [01:31:43] Speaker B: So can I command Binky to move into melee with this boy? Boy [01:31:50] Speaker A: brave. Yes. Does that. Yeah, I think. [01:31:56] Speaker B: I think over a 12 to successfully. Yeah, just about. And I'll. I'll run up with him and be a large lizard. [01:32:09] Speaker A: Large lizard. [01:32:10] Speaker B: Large lizard. [01:32:14] Speaker A: Okay. You are Lord lizard. [01:32:18] Speaker B: Wonderful. If I'm right to keep initiative, I'd like to get him, please. [01:32:26] Speaker A: Yes. And Binky's giving you advantage, right? [01:32:30] Speaker B: No, I get extra damage. [01:32:32] Speaker A: Extra damage. Okay. Okay. So this golem. Golem, tethered, like the three heads turn to see you approach. [01:32:44] Speaker B: Lovely. Where is my lizard attack? There it is. [01:32:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Should be on my left of your character sheet. [01:32:59] Speaker B: Lizard attack. [01:33:03] Speaker F: Nice. [01:33:03] Speaker C: Nice. [01:33:04] Speaker A: 22 with hope is a hit. [01:33:10] Speaker B: Oh, and I can, I believe, spend a hope to do more stuff. I can. [01:33:21] Speaker C: Where is it? [01:33:21] Speaker B: Here it is. Yeah. I'll spend a hope to use snapping strike, making him temporarily restrained and vulnerable. [01:33:30] Speaker A: Okay. [01:33:31] Speaker B: Yeah. And my damage will be. Plus 26 for the bunny. [01:33:48] Speaker A: Poor golem. He deserves it. 32 dimage. 32 demage. 32 demage is major damage. So, Gardy, first things first, because I don't think we've seen your giant lizard. What is your giant lizard? What does it look like? [01:34:10] Speaker B: It's notorious for stealing llamas from our nomadic tribe on the Plains. These things, they are gracux and they are large sort of crocodilian reptiles. Tile dragony thingies. They're quick and they bite. And I'm gonna be quick and I'm gonna bite him. [01:34:31] Speaker A: Okay. In which case where whereabouts on him do you bite? [01:34:36] Speaker B: I'm just gonna like jump onto him and start clawing and biting, you know. [01:34:41] Speaker A: Okay. [01:34:41] Speaker B: Like a Velociraptor in Jurassic Park. [01:34:45] Speaker A: In which case as you scrabble and like scrabble across the the smooth like we've all seen lizards trying to run across like lino or wood wood flooring. But as you watch this large lizard kind of pounce upon this restrained golem, it's when you're snapping jaws snap around the neck that holds the three kind of face plates in place. You the, the five of you watch as Guardi, for all extensive purposes chairs this golem's head clean from its shoulders. And Guardi, as you sort of like as your scaly head kind of rears back. You all watch as the. The three head like the head plates in Gandhi's mouth just seems to like they begin to glow and then they disapparate into a green jish light. And Gardi, you feel yourself fall suddenly as the. The body of this golem just dissipates into moats of jade green light that are absorbed back into the runes of the pillar, the central pillar that you're stood in front of as this thing discorporates. Because that's. That's a word. It just disintegrates in front of you into seemingly raw manner. And the golem is finished. The golem is gone. And in this moment you feel like the. The level of threat around you has dropped. So I reduce your system, the defense system level by two and then spend a fear as you hear as the alarm raises it back up to one. But you have successfully disabled one of the security feature. One of the security. Well yeah, you. You've. You've cleared out some security. And who would I think Cooper, given that you've had a bit of a. A disc distant view from all of this. Given that you couldn't see what attacked the Imperial soldiers. It's like something was attacking the imperial soldiers and then wasn't. And what's just happened to these golems? You can't help but get the feeling that these things will just keep coming if they can just if when defeated they just disapparate. And then potentially you watch this thing just kind of appeared out of thin air for all extensive purposes. So, yes, you. It dawns on you, Cooper, and you see Kick Fran looking at you pointedly as Kick Fran's words of I brought you here for a reason. As that kind of becomes apparent, this is a running battle, [01:37:47] Speaker E: okay? [01:37:49] Speaker A: So with that in mind, let's take a quick break. We'll see you all in 10 minutes. [01:37:58] Speaker C: Noise. [01:38:07] Speaker A: Welcome back, everyone. Hi. Welcome. My name is dm. [01:38:13] Speaker C: Dad. [01:38:14] Speaker A: Georgia is being attacked by. By cat [01:38:19] Speaker D: is walking him out. [01:38:27] Speaker A: Yes, Georgia being attacked by a cat, but we're all good. We return to the Titan Isles. We find ourselves deep within a mysterious ancient V vault of a. Of a smooth, made almost exclusively of a mysterious smooth white marble. And our heroes have just successfully defeated. Question mark what appears to be a. A sentient golem of some sort. So [01:39:05] Speaker F: that's a golem. [01:39:08] Speaker A: That is. That is. So you've defeated the golem. You've full extensive purposes defeated the Imperials. That were kind of in the way. So the security level has dropped, but the alarm still rises further and further. So, um, with that in mind, um, Guardi Brownings. If you want to stay in. In lizard form, you may to save yourself the stress. What is the next plan of attack? [01:39:48] Speaker E: Running guesses. Keep running. [01:39:50] Speaker D: Running. [01:39:53] Speaker B: Who. [01:39:53] Speaker A: Who wants to spearhead this? What? I mean, Abe. [01:39:58] Speaker C: Can I get up? [01:39:59] Speaker A: Yes, you can. You may indeed, Abe, as you dust yourself off and like the. The tinnitus in your ears has finally faded. Yeah. What do you this. I can only imagine there's a moment of Abe doing that. More. More like finger in an ear. Yeah. Abe, what would you like to. To do knowing that you've just kind of defeated that golem? Do you want to start kind of unlocking the. Gaining access to the vault? [01:40:39] Speaker C: Let's try and gain some access to this bad boy without getting blasted and that. [01:40:43] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. In which case, Abe, if you, as you lead the group further down this wall into the hallway that the Imperial soldiers were in, you. The hallway is similar to the one that you arrived in, but it emerges into a large, like another spherical room that. It's a spherical room, but as you sort of like get to the doorway, you. You see that there is like no floor. There is just this. The inner surface of this fear. And so there's a. There's a kind of a moment where you have to screech to a stop because if you go any further, it feels like you would just plummet. But as you teeter on the edge, who is immediately behind Abe? [01:41:42] Speaker C: Everyone. [01:41:43] Speaker A: Well, so in which case. Yeah, a bijou teater like one. One hoof in the air. Griffin, you don't stop in time and collide with the back of Abe. And Abe, you tip forward and your hoof instinctively, like, goes to step on nothingness. But your foot, your hoof connects with a solid surface. And under your hoof, there is a jade green light emanating outwards. And as you lift your hoof up, the. The glow fades. And then as you place it back down, it gets brighter until you make contact. And it's like you're walking on a floor of light. [01:42:36] Speaker C: Well, you see. I know. I knew that would happen. I didn't think there was a big gap or anything. [01:42:41] Speaker E: I didn't realize you could do that. [01:42:42] Speaker C: Yeah. Don't you go. You go ahead. You go see if it works for you. [01:42:50] Speaker F: Okay. [01:42:53] Speaker A: Okay. Griffin, as you step forward. Yeah. Your feet, like, gain purchase on this kind of invisible floor that illuminates under your footsteps as you walk in. And as you kind of look up, your. The. The spherical room you're in is mesmerizing because there are kind of motes of green light scattered around the room. And for a moment it. And like they're above you and below you. And for a moment, it feels like you're among stars. And as you take a few more steps forward, Griffin, some of the moats coalesce into an. [01:43:39] Speaker E: Or. [01:43:40] Speaker A: A glowing green orb that gets larger and larger. And this kind of semi translucent, kind of greenish sphere floats in the middle of the room, which means that you are. You know, you. You are. It's. It's both above and below. Like, it spans above and below you and it rotates slightly. Okay. Hey, any ideas? [01:44:19] Speaker D: That thing? [01:44:23] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, not much. I know. If I can't hear, I don't really know what to do. [01:44:29] Speaker A: It. Avia, as you get close, you realize that this orb is. It's a. It's made of light. Like it is a. A glowing orb of light. But as the two of you. The two of you are close. Both. Roll me knowledge checks. [01:44:51] Speaker C: We've got the two smarties out front. [01:44:56] Speaker F: Normal knowledge or just reactions? [01:44:58] Speaker A: Reaction, big one. As you try to comprehend what you're seeing. [01:45:06] Speaker F: Do a squint. Oh, Professor Abe's back. [01:45:10] Speaker C: 1818. [01:45:16] Speaker A: I'm trying to think where you would have seen Ms. Abe. You. You. As you glance. As you glance across this orb, this large sphere, this flowing sphere. Like Griffin, you watch as Abe adopts the professor rape pose, like the stroking of the chin. And Abe, this reminds you of this large kind of orb that you saw. It Was it. Was someone in. It was like a mage in Dorlishal. And it was this orb of like, green. Like blue. A blue orb with green splotch all over it. And you overheard someone saying, oh, this is Elsewhere. I mean, it clearly wasn't. It was just a large block of painted wood with green splodges on it. Looks similar. [01:46:21] Speaker C: I thought Elsewhere was flat. Where does the right come from? I've seen. I look out and I see it's just. Oh, sorry. In it. [01:46:39] Speaker F: Don't go too far. Don't go over. [01:46:41] Speaker C: Yes, I. I read a pamphlet once and it said it's all flat. Don't believe it if it's a circle. [01:46:50] Speaker A: Yes. For as Abe begins music of this just is struck by a memory that he had one time. It dawns on you that, yeah, you are looking at what appears to be a round spherical planet. [01:47:08] Speaker C: It's like we met a guy once and he said that's what the world looked like, but I didn't believe him. [01:47:19] Speaker F: But you think this is a. It's like a map. A map of elsewhere. [01:47:25] Speaker C: Well, does it know what it looks like? They get blown up or elsewhere now. Or elsewhere. Was. Was where elsewhere? [01:47:35] Speaker A: Hey, as you. As you ask, you see that there is a. There's almost like a thrumming light on a part on the surface of this. Of this globe. And as the. As it kind of rotates, you see that this orb, that sort of this glow, this blinking light appears to be at what could only be described as the top of a mountain range. Like in a mountain. [01:48:13] Speaker C: That's us, [01:48:17] Speaker A: but it's at the top of a mountain. [01:48:20] Speaker C: That's nice. We're in a mountain. [01:48:23] Speaker A: Well, say is it. It's within the top of a mountain. So you've been correct and incorrect by saying the same thing twice. It is where you are. But before the eschaton and Abe, you recognize the mountain range around this blinking light as the mountain range that Rice Vilnaar used to be on. [01:48:57] Speaker C: Where I used to live. It is. Was where it is no longer else was. It was where we was. Oh, that was where we was. I was there. [01:49:13] Speaker A: What. So as Abe gives the rest of you this very comprehensive explanation of what you're seeing, who wants to like you? There is a. A monotonous. A monotone voice that rings out. Enter command. [01:49:44] Speaker C: We all hear. [01:49:47] Speaker A: Rings out through the room. [01:49:50] Speaker C: Is it. Did I say the right thing? Is it. What's. What's. Smarties. Smart ones. Gas. [01:50:01] Speaker D: Disable the security. [01:50:07] Speaker A: So are you. Are you looking to disable Security or gain access. [01:50:11] Speaker D: Oh, that's a good point. I mean, both are very useful at this current point. Probably gaining access is what we want. [01:50:19] Speaker C: Okay. [01:50:21] Speaker A: In which case, Cass, which ability are you using to do that? Because as you approach this orb, like what appear to be control runes materializing the air in front of you, and you realize that these runes can be interacted with, [01:50:44] Speaker D: I'd say instinct to perceive. [01:50:47] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Yeah. Please run me an instinct check then. [01:50:52] Speaker D: Not just because that's my highest skill. Can I also add in a researcher? [01:50:56] Speaker A: You can, as you have successfully done some research already. [01:51:01] Speaker D: I have. [01:51:01] Speaker A: If fleeting. [01:51:08] Speaker D: Did that. Did that go through? [01:51:10] Speaker A: Yep. A 20 with fear. So you successfully. What. What does your interaction with these runes look like? [01:51:22] Speaker D: Sort of like a tentative reaching out and touching just in case it proves to be like the. The green pillar that we left behind, just in case there seems to be some kind of warding against it. But if it doesn't do that. And kind of the movement of them slowly becomes more and more confident. [01:51:45] Speaker A: Okay. In which case. Yeah. As you begin to interact with the runes, you watch as these kind of. This. These bands of jade green light form around your wrists. And as you kind of turn your wrists, as you kind of manipulate your fingers, the runes seem to sort like dance around them. It takes a little while to get a hang of it. But you do begin to get a hang of what it is you're doing. And you find that you're able to fundamentally, like, zoom in to the. The blinking light until you find that within this mountain range is presumably the vault that you find yourselves in. And there is like. You can see that, like there's this central cylindrical shape surrounded it. Like within this spherical room. You know that that's the main hall that you've just come from. You can see the corridor. You've come along. You can see this kind of observatory. And as you kind of do your best to decipher the commands, You hear like the. The monotone voice once again says. Once again speaks. Acknowledged. And you hear a loud reverberant from somewhere behind you. But as you release yourself from. As you go to release from the runes, you find that your hand is almost like it's like it's being held by something. And the voice returns to say, unauthorized user detected. And I gain a fear. Spend it. And I increase the defense system to one. [01:53:46] Speaker D: Oh, no. [01:53:47] Speaker A: To two. [01:53:47] Speaker D: Big part of me out of the computer. [01:53:51] Speaker A: Your wrist is released as you hear the. Of the alarm. And on the other side of the globe, you see a light Materializing, and another Guardian golem appears on the other side of this planet and turns to regard you. [01:54:15] Speaker D: Cass just turns to. Everyone else's run. [01:54:19] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So as you. As the. The six of you kind of duck out, you've successfully gained access. Who's. What's Cooper doing? [01:54:38] Speaker E: I was on mute. Sorry. I think he might see if there's a way of keeping the Golem separate. Like, is there a way of us, like, like trapping him somewhere else or like, delaying his advance? Basically. Is there something that Cooper can do, like fire crossbow bolt to activate something to keep him. [01:55:02] Speaker A: Yeah. So I will say this. The skolens materialize, like, far range. And as it begins, it begins like, stomping towards you. You get the impression that if you were like. If you were to, like, jog, like, run. This thing doesn't seem to be like, especially compared. Well, also based on the other golem that you've already fought, these things move at a relatively slow and steady pace. So one way of gaining distance is to just pull your. Pull the legs of your trousers up and. And hone it. [01:55:41] Speaker E: Okay. [01:55:41] Speaker D: Okay. [01:55:42] Speaker E: Okay, cool. I think Cooper will just. I think, like, obviously after what he realized before the break, it's like, just keep going, Keep going. Just go, go, go, go, go, quick. [01:55:53] Speaker A: Okay. I will leave this Guardian Golem here just as a reminder. But it. There is at least one Guardian Golem after you. So, yes, Cooper, as you shepherd everyone out of this observatory, you. You know, in your kind of journey around the main room, that there was one other doorway, which is the only other way you can go other than the exit. [01:56:19] Speaker C: What. [01:56:20] Speaker A: Which clock would you like to focus on? So we disable security. Gain access or loot. [01:56:31] Speaker E: I think disable security still feels very useful because, yeah, we don't know what we're gaining access to. But then also, the whole point of us doing this is to find loot to help us defeat Exo. So part. Part of Cooper is like loot security. But then he remembers he's not too bad at finding loot. So maybe. Maybe we should also do a loot. We've done. We've done the other two. Let's try a loot. [01:57:03] Speaker A: So. [01:57:03] Speaker E: Okay, I will do that. [01:57:05] Speaker A: What ability are you using to loot? [01:57:09] Speaker E: I think I'm going to use my ability to cause a nuisance. Nudging. I'm. I'm going to use my finesse and see if there's anything like. Was it finesse? I'm just trying to think. No, that's like. [01:57:28] Speaker A: I mean, if you want I guess I could say that there are, like, shine. As you're running down the corridor, there are shiny, like, orbs half embedded in the wall that look like, with some jigging, you might be able to retrieve them. [01:57:43] Speaker E: Yeah, sure, I'll do. I'll give that a go. Yeah, yeah. [01:57:47] Speaker A: Roll me a finesse. [01:57:49] Speaker E: Okay, let's do that. It's a 20 with hope. [01:57:57] Speaker A: 20 with hope. You gain a hope, and on a success, that is two segments, that is two bits of loot. As you use your knife very quickly and expertly, given that this golem is tailing you, and with a satisfying. This orb falls out of the wall into your open heart. [01:58:19] Speaker E: Nice. [01:58:20] Speaker A: So, yeah, it is a. Is an orb. There are, like, concentric circles and kind of lines etched across it. You're not 100% sure what it does, but it looks important. [01:58:31] Speaker E: Cool. I was quickly in my belt and keep running. [01:58:35] Speaker A: Okay, who's. Who wants to. Who wants to go next? What about Garby? [01:58:45] Speaker B: As we're scurrying along, I'll just turn to the others and be like, why don't we ambush it? Rip off its head? [01:59:01] Speaker C: The big guy. [01:59:02] Speaker A: Hey, the robot. [01:59:11] Speaker E: I feel like Guardi has suddenly become, like, someone else. [01:59:16] Speaker B: I'm a lizard. [01:59:17] Speaker E: I know, I know, I know. [01:59:19] Speaker C: You're a lizard from [01:59:23] Speaker E: Just become Peter Capaldi all of a sudden. [01:59:29] Speaker A: Well, does Gardi want to disable security? [01:59:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I want to. I want to set up an ambush for that. That fella that's following us. If everyone else is amenable. [01:59:44] Speaker A: Okay, okay, it might well. So as you're. As you're heading back out of the corridor into the main room, you do notice that one of the, like, the supporting kind of beams of the archway that form the door into the main room has become slightly dislodged from, like, the. The mountain being dropped from a great height during the eschaton, presumably. So you could. If, like, you could either wait to set, like, an ambush, or you could try to. To kind of crush this golem with falling masonry as it comes through. [02:00:29] Speaker C: Yeah. Set a trap. [02:00:32] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So in which case, how. How are you thinking? Like, what sort of trap? How do you want this trap to. To work? So there's some loose masonry, but if there's anything else you want to. Want to use as an opportunity, [02:00:55] Speaker C: Let's go full home alone. Hot iron. [02:00:59] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Need some marbles. [02:01:05] Speaker C: Hot wheels. [02:01:09] Speaker B: All right. What if when it's coming up along. Oh, I can't cast spells. I'm a. I'm a dinosaur. All right. [02:01:18] Speaker C: But hold a wand. [02:01:24] Speaker D: Just transform your hands quickly back into gaddy house. [02:01:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't like the look of that. If I do that, my feet also turn back into G's feet. I'll just. Yeah, just. [02:01:45] Speaker A: Hey, big fella, you want to give [02:01:46] Speaker B: us a hand with us? Right? [02:01:51] Speaker C: You could stay like this forever. [02:01:58] Speaker A: Okay. Does. Is Abe helping Gardi or tag teaming with Guardi? I'm imagining you're just gonna, like, try to loosen this masonry so it falls on the golem as the golem walks under it. [02:02:11] Speaker C: Yeah. Aids whatever is happy to spend a hope to aid. [02:02:18] Speaker A: Yeah. So if you spend a hope to add. We're gone. [02:02:21] Speaker B: I was gonna say it turns out actually in this form, my strength isn't very good. So if you want to lead on this one, I'll. I'll give you and. All right. [02:02:30] Speaker C: Leave the heavy lift into me. You've already got little hands. [02:02:35] Speaker A: Okay, so say there. There is loose masonry. Ape, what is your plan to dislodge this onto the golem at the correct time? What's your plan of attack? [02:02:48] Speaker C: Is there any way I can climb up this loose mission? I want to kind of just like, get my, like, axe in there and then. [02:03:01] Speaker A: Yeah, there's. I'd imagine there's enough kind of cracks in this marble where this kind of doorway's been damaged that you could kind of get up to the above, like the top of the doorway. [02:03:11] Speaker C: Fab. Who are using as bait. [02:03:13] Speaker B: Oh, I can be bait. And I can. I can agilely dodge out of the way as the replacement. The rubble is tipped upon it. [02:03:23] Speaker A: Okay, so in which case this. This golem is stomping down the the hallway towards you. This kind of green light crackling from the end of its warhammer flickering between the three gems across its three face plates. And it. As it. As it gets closer to you, Guardi, you hear it announce. As it hones in on you. And the three face plates kind of the. The outer ones kind of wrap around lightly so all three are pointing directly at you at the critical moment. Gar, if you please, spend a hope and Abe, roll your strength check, I'm guessing to see if you can clap some rubble on its head. [02:04:17] Speaker C: Absolute rubbish. [02:04:19] Speaker A: You get advantage as well if you roll a D6. Oh, no. Okay. A 13 with fear unfortunately, is not going to do it. So Abe, you. As you push with your feet and like stamp on it and. And the marble seems a lot sturdier than you were expecting. Gardi, you as you sort of like take a step back to kind of Lure this golem in the rubble does not fall when you expected it to. And instead I crit you. [02:05:10] Speaker E: Four. [02:05:19] Speaker C: I would like to. Oh, no, I would like to use. [02:05:28] Speaker B: Use. [02:05:29] Speaker C: I am your shield. [02:05:31] Speaker A: Yes. [02:05:31] Speaker C: All I within close range would take damage. I mark a stress and take the damage for them. [02:05:38] Speaker A: Okay. [02:05:38] Speaker C: And I can mark any number of armor slots. [02:05:41] Speaker A: Okay. [02:05:41] Speaker B: As long as I. [02:05:44] Speaker A: You realize that this chunk of rubble you're perched upon is not giving. As you swan dive off the top of the door archway, this golem has. Has just sort of like, swung its arm back, and it's. It's about to be this devastating overhead strike. That's gonna pancake Gardi. Yes, Abe. Instead, you take 49 damage. [02:06:07] Speaker B: That's incredible stuff. Thank you, Lou. [02:06:12] Speaker C: Thank you very much. Yum, yum, yum. No problem. Just. I just imagine Guardi just turning back to his human form, like. Oh, [02:06:23] Speaker A: and the like. Abe, so as you. As you dug that, how much damage was that? Was it minor in the end? [02:06:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:06:30] Speaker A: Okay. Abe, you connect with this hammer before it gets a chance to connect with Guardi in a forcing the hammer to sort like change directory slightly. But you are launched as you fall down, you are launched backwards, so you. Your trajectory changes a good 90 degrees without you hitting the floor. And you are launched over Guardi, and you scrape along the like, lands and skid across the floor amongst the. The others. And this golem, like, looks up to the. The lot of you before turning its attention back to you, Guardi, because as I mentioned earlier, you are. Target acquired. What's the. What's the plan, gang? This golem is upon you. You can make a dash for it. [02:07:17] Speaker C: Let's just keep. Let's go. It's difficult damage. I'm gonna take another hit. [02:07:27] Speaker B: I'm gonna. Oh, I feel bad for you. So I'm gonna go at it. I want to go at it. I'm enraged. [02:07:38] Speaker A: Go, Gabby, go. [02:07:44] Speaker D: Yeah, we're gone. [02:07:48] Speaker E: We turn around. Like, where the. [02:07:49] Speaker A: Where the. Where are the boys? [02:07:52] Speaker E: Are they gone? [02:07:55] Speaker A: Chosen violence to the thing. [02:07:58] Speaker B: Eighteen with fear. [02:08:00] Speaker A: Eighteen with fear is a hit. And then I take up fear. 28 damage. That's a hearty major damage to the golem as. What is it your. What are you attacking on him? [02:08:22] Speaker B: I think where I've sort of instinctively tried to duck back, and then Abe has like. Did anyone play the flash game Yeti sports, where they, like, drop a penguin and then there's a baseball bat and then. [02:08:35] Speaker C: Yes, [02:08:37] Speaker B: that's what I've just seen with ape just like, launching over my head. And then I'll go for its ankles and. And like start ripping wires and whatever I can get my teeth into. [02:08:46] Speaker A: Okay, so you. As you clamp down the like you crunch the ankle. So when the golem goes to take a step forward to you, it's kind of the foot gives out and it stumbles and staggers a little bit. And there's a loud as it has to use the half the the head of that warhammer. It's the mace it's holding to stay up. You roll with fear. So I'm gonna step in to spend a fear. It will activate and attempts to mace you in the face. Oh, that's a seven to hit. [02:09:32] Speaker B: Nah, man. [02:09:34] Speaker A: Okay, so you managed to duck out the way. But as you. Oh, sorry. Bring pardon off the back of critting Abe, I gain a fear. I will then spend the fear to raise the defense level up to level three. [02:09:56] Speaker C: War. [02:09:58] Speaker A: What? So is. Is Abe still in this or is Abe gotten up and scarpeth? [02:10:02] Speaker C: I will ask iron. Okay. [02:10:08] Speaker A: Okay. Go go. 1616 with fear. Abe, you go charging in and as you you go to swing your ax, the golem kind of pivots on its waist in an unnatural way because it's seemingly a construct. And it catches you across the chest with the back of its gauntlet and it launches you. So I'm gonna retaliate that miss with a 20 to hit. [02:10:43] Speaker C: They're here. [02:10:45] Speaker A: You take 12 damage as you are launch backward back from whence you came. And I gain a fear. And I will spend a fear to raise the defense level. As Abe, as you're sort of like tossed backwards and you kind of skid as you gain your footing, the golem looks up to you as this loud sonorous horn blares out again [02:11:23] Speaker E: and [02:11:26] Speaker D: from [02:11:27] Speaker A: like off to your left. So it's sort of like anti clockwise around the ring. Guardi and Guardian Abe. You spy another motive light begin to coalesce. And another golem emerges. But this one looks decidedly different to the guardian golem. You're fighting. You. You notice that this looks like it's a lot squatter. It sits on a base of six legs. Did I that center trap. [02:12:15] Speaker C: Oh, it's like a little off chair. [02:12:22] Speaker A: So yes, it sits on a base of six legs and it skitters around in a somewhat crab or spider like manner. But this golem doesn't appear to have arms. Instead it has what looks like a large rectangular shaped cannon emerging from its torso. [02:12:45] Speaker C: Oh, can we keep them? [02:12:47] Speaker A: And as this thing appears, it looks towards you, Abe, and You see a green dot appear on your chest as you hear a. And it appears to be acquiring a target. [02:13:13] Speaker C: Canoy run quite quickly? [02:13:16] Speaker A: Theo's played Breath of the Wild, it would seem. [02:13:20] Speaker E: I'm just scared. [02:13:21] Speaker C: I'm just. [02:13:22] Speaker E: Can we not do this? Can we run? Can we run away? [02:13:26] Speaker A: Abe? Yes. You add like, you know that if you scarper and sort of like get around the ring, you'll break line of sight with this turret golem. [02:13:35] Speaker C: Let's go. [02:13:38] Speaker A: So Abe's dashing. Are you following Guardi? Are you. You going. You're going for more. [02:13:45] Speaker C: Can Abe grab Gardi's little reptile hand? They can run together. [02:13:50] Speaker B: I mean, does it seem like it would be helpful to Abe's chances of not getting shot by a cannon if I keep them occupied for another turn or so? [02:14:00] Speaker C: We don't want you being shot by a cannon. [02:14:03] Speaker B: I haven't been acquired. I'm okay. [02:14:08] Speaker C: You'd acquired taste. That's [02:14:13] Speaker A: up to you. [02:14:15] Speaker B: Interesting. All right, don't worry. I'll follow you in a sec. I'm gonna run at the cannon boy. And I'm gonna take a bite out of a cannon lad if I can. [02:14:29] Speaker A: Okay. I will need an agility roll to get there because it's a bit. It's a bit of a way away. [02:14:38] Speaker B: Let's go. [02:14:40] Speaker A: Oh, it's good. Okay. 25 with hope. Absolutely, boss. That and you're like lizard style across the. Across the slippery floor. You are now in melee range with the turret. The turret Munch. 21 with 4 fear. [02:14:59] Speaker B: I thought I had a crit. [02:15:00] Speaker A: Tragic to anyone with fear is a hit. And I don't have fear. [02:15:07] Speaker B: No, you're doing too much for that fear. I'm. I'm stressing out. I'm hoping it. [02:15:12] Speaker A: Okay. [02:15:13] Speaker B: It's going to be fine. [02:15:14] Speaker A: So you go to hope. [02:15:15] Speaker B: I lose a fear 7 stress. The perfect amount of stress. [02:15:21] Speaker C: Peak stress. [02:15:22] Speaker A: You know, we got. 23 damage. Okay, so as you. As you chomp. What part of it are you chomping? One of the six legs. [02:15:35] Speaker B: Probably the cannon. If I can like just go at the bottom of it or something. [02:15:40] Speaker A: In which case as you. As you leap up and sort of like grab like chomp on the underside of the cannon. That is major damage. It takes two hits. Points. I will. As it tempts attempts to. I will spend a fear and it will begin to acquire you as a target instead. And then that's its turn. [02:16:19] Speaker B: Okay, that sounds bad. Has Abe made it around the corner? [02:16:24] Speaker A: Abuse. [02:16:26] Speaker C: I'm skedaddling. [02:16:28] Speaker A: Okay, so Abe Abe and everyone else kick Fran is. What's he doing? And where are Cass, Cooper, and Griffin Rachel going? [02:16:44] Speaker D: Oh, we're just. We're booking it. [02:16:46] Speaker E: We were just booking it, and then the other two were just gone. So I think. I think we've, like, wait, where. Wait, where are the other two? And then we probably just heard the commotion, and we're just like, what do we do? Like, that's the reaction. Like, what do we do? And then we suddenly see them, see Abe running. [02:17:12] Speaker B: You just hear, like, echoing down the hall, like, [02:17:18] Speaker A: So. Yes. This Guardian golem is tailing after Abe. Gardi, unbeknownst to you, is currently hanging off the cannon on a large turret golem between the three of you. Are you looking to disable security? Gain access? Access or loot? [02:17:37] Speaker F: Probably really need to start gaining access. [02:17:39] Speaker D: Yeah, Yeah, I think we need to get on that. Gaining access. [02:17:43] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, as the. So we'll bank that as the three of you head to the only other kind of doorway that's accessible, that. That leads you into this kind of large cylindrical room. And what appears to be a spiraling staircase of kind of jade green light spirals down further into the facility, like, into the vault. So as you, like, as you begin making your way down, let's jump back to Gardi for a moment. Gardi, you're being targeted. You're hanging off the front of the golem. [02:18:28] Speaker B: I feel like if I don't run away, Theo is gonna have a hernia. So I think I will. I think I will do that. [02:18:38] Speaker A: Okay. [02:18:39] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna try and scuttle on out of there. [02:18:42] Speaker A: Okay. If you're looking to get out of line of sight before it fires, I'm gonna need an agility roll. [02:18:51] Speaker B: Easy peasy. [02:18:58] Speaker A: Nice. Oh, okay. In which case, G. As you skid around the corner, you hear. And this beam of light arcs behind you, like, chases you around the corner. And as you skid Tokyo Drift style around, like, on your scaly pad, this beam of light look kind of warms your tail as it explodes against the far wall. And yeah, it's arc like cannon misses. So you have, by the time you catch up with the others. Abe, like the others. And Abe, um, the other three of you, you've, like, began. You've gotten to the bottom of this spiral staircase, and you emerge out into another kind of ring like room. But you realize now you're on the, like, the bottom half of this. Sorry. Yeah, The. The. The walls are curved up away from you. You're on the bottom half of the sphere that this cylinder is kind of constructed within. And. You see, yeah, that down as you kind of. Well, do you want to go left or right? I mean, those are your options, really. Up is where the golems are. So left. Clock left. Okay. So as you go clockwise, round you, like, you find a doorway to another large room, like another large hall. Where within it. Where is. Where's my things? So as you enter. So who's. Who's leading the. The trio of you. The. Well, the quad of you with kick Fran. Who's. Who's leading the. The flight. [02:21:09] Speaker E: I'm happy to lead it. [02:21:10] Speaker A: Okay, so, Cooper, so you. You make it into this room first. And you find yourself that this room, unlike the others, is sort of like rectangular, stretches out away from you. And it reminds you at first glance, chance of a library. But in lieu of rows of bookshelves, the. The bookshelves, quote unquote, seemingly are made of cubes of glowing green light. [02:21:41] Speaker E: Okay. [02:21:42] Speaker A: And you can see like crackles of what appear to be like green lightning kind of arcing between the various cubes. But you see a similar. Like Cass, as you peering, you see that at the. Like in the center of this kind of archive you suspect it to be, there appears to be an. Like a. An orb that you've reckoned could be interacted with in a similar manner as the one in the. In the observatory. [02:22:11] Speaker D: I will give that a crack. [02:22:13] Speaker A: Okay. As you. Well, as Cass is heading over there. Cooper, what are you. Is there anything else you're doing in the room? [02:22:26] Speaker E: So I. [02:22:27] Speaker A: It's. [02:22:27] Speaker E: Out of the three things we can do, right? We can do tweaking. I mean, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be that helpful with. Because I'm not magically minded. I don't think I can magically turn off security. So I think it's just more useful to me for me to look at loot right now if we're currently. [02:22:49] Speaker D: Get that bag, honey. [02:22:51] Speaker E: Just get. Thanks, Cass. Yeah, right. Okay. [02:22:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [02:22:57] Speaker E: Let's do loop. Let's do it. [02:22:59] Speaker A: Okay. What is it you're looting in hell? Like, what are you looking for? [02:23:04] Speaker E: Is there anything near these, like, green. Green cubes that are like. I can pick up, like, I imagine the big cubes. I can't. But the only thing I can look at. [02:23:16] Speaker A: As you get close to them, you realize that while these cubes are made up that seemingly made up of this sort of like green j. Green light, they are tactile under your fingers. So if you. As you kind of Press your fingers against them. There is resistance. And then even though you know that there's nothing corporeal in your hands, the. The light cube moves between your fingers as if it were physically there. [02:23:45] Speaker E: Okay. [02:23:46] Speaker A: It's like a hard light hologram, almost. [02:23:50] Speaker E: Interesting. [02:23:53] Speaker C: You. [02:23:54] Speaker A: You got. It seems to be kind of locked in place. So. Yeah. Which. What skill do you want to use to try and extract one of these? [02:24:03] Speaker E: I'd like to use my finesse, please. See if there's anything I can do to tink with it to. [02:24:09] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, roll me a finesse. Yeah. [02:24:15] Speaker E: And I'm just gonna. Gonna put a hope in that as a lucky devil, because I feel like it is gonna be luck that he does it if it's magically minded. So I'm gonna. [02:24:31] Speaker A: Absolutely ace that. So you manage to. You don't know quite what it is that did it, but you're lucky. Your lucky devil kicks in. You pull out one cube. It just sort of like slots out and then you like catch the second that falls out after it. And in your hands you have these. Yeah. These two cubes of light. And then you watch as the space left from the gaps created are then filled by new cubes. But as energy arcs into the. Into the void. You've successfully done it with hope. That is another two ticks on the loot counter. Okay, let's jump back to Cass. So yeah, you find yourself at this. This central console and you. You hear like throughout the room. Enter command. [02:25:38] Speaker D: Cass is going to do what she did before and hope it's the same idea, which is mid access. [02:25:48] Speaker F: Could I send a hope to give you some assistance? [02:25:52] Speaker D: Please do. [02:25:56] Speaker A: There you go. Okay, so Griffin, as you. As you rush over, [02:26:01] Speaker F: I think you press that one. [02:26:06] Speaker D: How do you know that? Guess. Great, thanks. [02:26:11] Speaker A: As Griffith Cass as Griffin like points and like gestures on how to. How to do the wrist tourney. Like to give you an idea, you see a band of red lights emerge around Griffin's wrist for a moment before dissipating. And it looks very similar to the red band of light, the red runes that were wrapped around Cooper's wrist. [02:26:43] Speaker D: I think in that fleeting moment, she just sort of meets his eye with a slightly questioning glance and then looks back to the. The dials. I think there's. We don't have time to unpack that right now, but she is storing it away for later. [02:27:06] Speaker A: Okay. What. What are you using to interact with this terminal? [02:27:10] Speaker D: I will. Oh, instinct work well last time to perceive and sense. Can I again use researcher? [02:27:22] Speaker A: You absolutely can. And you get a plus D6 for advantage. Cooper helping, Griffin helping. [02:27:30] Speaker D: Ah, yes. Where do I put? Oh, plus, plus, you say plus D6. [02:27:35] Speaker A: Yes. But if you click advantage, it will roll it with the D6. [02:27:39] Speaker D: Oh, excellent. [02:27:45] Speaker A: Oh, nice. Oh, 28 with Hope. Absolutely bossed it. So you, as you roll, success with hope. What. What is the. Like, the commands that you're inputting? [02:28:04] Speaker D: I mean, she's trying to. We're trying to get access to the vault, so she's just projecting open with as much confidence as she can. [02:28:15] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, as you do this and you. You kind of get that, you begin to understand that a lot of the control and command is. It's almost. It's almost like you've got to think what you want to do. But you notice that the. This terminal, such as it is, seems to be reacting more like. It seems to be behaving itself more because you. And you wonder if it's because you start to feel a bit more confident, given that it's the second time that you're doing it. So you wonder if there's some sort of like, emotional control. [02:28:54] Speaker D: Make it till you make it, baby. Just the job you want. [02:28:59] Speaker A: Command acknowledged. Warning. Defense protocols for the epitaph. Weakening [02:29:13] Speaker D: the epitaph. Okay, that sounds promising. [02:29:21] Speaker A: As you do, as you finish that, Abe and Guardi, you have emerged. Three of you out of breath that you. Yeah. You arrive in the central ring. Um, Cass, Cooper and Griffin. Once you've kind of interacted with that terminal, are you kind of dashing back out or are you doing anything? As soon as they come in, they're coming out again. [02:29:49] Speaker C: Nope. [02:29:52] Speaker A: You want to do in the archive before you. Yeah. Anything else in the archive. Okay. In which case, as you make your way out, you bump into a bin Guardi in this kind of lower ring. And let's. Let's go with Abe. Now that you've kind of bumped into the others. Cooper's bags bulging slightly more. Do you want to disable security, gain access or loot. [02:30:33] Speaker C: In access? Let's just guess. Finish that pie. [02:30:36] Speaker A: Okay, so you want to gain access. So you see, like, as you look around, there is another. Like another kind of corridor off the central. Central hub. Um, this time to, um. This room is destroyed. Decidedly square with again, the kind of the marble. Marble surfaces, the pillars. But the. The square is divided into like, three floors for all extensive purposes, separated by these hard light stairs and the sort of like the hard light flooring like in the observatory. As ape, as you lead the others into this. This room, you can see that scattered throughout this cubic. Cubic hall, there are translucent green orbs. With metal bands around their. Like that equator around their middles that strike you as being similar as the metal bands around the large cylindrical column in the main. Hot. The main hub hall. And there are some of the. The majority of the orbs are empty, but some have, like, items floating within them, like held in suspension within them. In a way, this looks almost like a museum, a gallery, a laboratory. You've seen trophy rooms by. For like, you know, the. The nobles who live in the southwest of doll. They have their trophy rooms on this. It almost looks a bit like that. [02:32:42] Speaker C: Interesting. So are these within touching distance? [02:32:46] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So as you kind of ascend or descend the hard light stairs up to the, like the upper floor, the middle floor, the lower floor. Yeah. These orbs are kind of floating, so they could. They're at like chest height and could be interacted with. I mean, for you, they're more belly height because of your height. Yeah, the. The orbs are translucent. You can see into them. Most of them are empty, but. Are you inspecting the orbs and I inspect an orb. [02:33:16] Speaker C: Some orbs. I want to see if there's anything interesting in any of them. [02:33:19] Speaker A: The one that you approach and you see that appears so. The orb that you approach has what appears to be. Tell you what, there's two that you see. One appears to have what look like dragon scales. Just a collection of dragon scales floating in the orb. What's in the orb to the left of it? [02:33:49] Speaker C: Dragon toenails? No, dragon scales. In one drown some kind of liquid. [02:34:03] Speaker A: Okay. In the next orb along, you see this. What appears to be this, like, thick, viscous liquid. It's hard, it's distorted because of the green light that it's held under, but in a way, it almost looks like blood, but it glistens with specks of silver and gold, and it seemingly sloshes about of its own volition. Who else is with Abe? As Abe inspects his orbs and I will impress. [02:34:44] Speaker B: There are the rides. [02:34:46] Speaker A: Yeah. In which case, Gardi, you've got enough magical presence that you note, you feel this. [02:34:53] Speaker C: Guardi, are you still a big lizard? Yeah. [02:34:58] Speaker A: Gardy, as you peer up at this orb and you kind of focus on your. On this kind of liquid inside the orb, you feel that there is an intense arcane power emanating from it, almost as if this liquid. Liquid is liquid mana. [02:35:19] Speaker B: Daggio. [02:35:21] Speaker E: Drink it. [02:35:21] Speaker A: Drink it [02:35:24] Speaker B: in a. Like a bottle or something or just kind of nebulously floating in like, so it's in. [02:35:29] Speaker A: Effectively, it's in this, like, hard light. Like, jade green hard light orb. He's got a straw. So it tactically, like, tactilely, if you poke it with your snoot, like, you feel as if you're pressing your snoot against glass. [02:35:50] Speaker B: Cool. [02:35:50] Speaker A: But there isn't anything physically there. [02:36:01] Speaker B: I get the feeling if we try and take this, that's probably an alarm. Can I, like. [02:36:10] Speaker A: Depends on how well you do it. [02:36:11] Speaker B: Can I, like. Yeah, just tap around with my little claws and stuff, see if I can see any, like, beams or other trip method things. [02:36:24] Speaker A: Which ability do you want to use to do that? [02:36:27] Speaker B: Oh, can I. Can I use my instinct to survey the area? [02:36:34] Speaker A: Yes. Go for it. 19 with Hope is a success. Tell me what you see that allows you to like it. It's still in the orb. But what is it that you find and deactivate that frees the orb for you to take? And which orb are you taking control? I think, [02:37:06] Speaker B: like some snakes, I. As a lizard guy, I have a little bit of, like, heat perception. And as I'm going towards it, I like. I can. I can feel that there's, like, a beam of some of sort, sort of between it. So I just kind of very carefully maneuver around it and like, push the orb so that it doesn't intersect with it and then catch it in my tail or something. [02:37:33] Speaker A: Okay. In which case the orb falls freely. Yeah. Are you going for liquid mana or the dragon scales? [02:37:40] Speaker B: Oh, I mean, the liquid mana is pretty tempting. I'll go for the liquid mana, please. [02:37:45] Speaker A: Liquid banner. Okay. Very good. We tick up the loop clock another two. With a success. With hope. Very, very good. What's Griffin doing? Or Cooper. Griffin or Cooper? [02:38:01] Speaker E: I don't know. [02:38:01] Speaker A: I'm. [02:38:02] Speaker E: I'm pretty good. I think Cooper's just vibing. [02:38:06] Speaker F: I want to. Griffin will look to gain access then. [02:38:10] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, Griffin, I mean, you. You've watched Cass do this. Yeah, I can do this. That makes you a consummate professional. Now, [02:38:20] Speaker D: I taught him everything I know. [02:38:23] Speaker A: At the rear. The rear wall of the. Of this. Sort of like the rear. The rear wall of the middle floor, you see a kind of floating mote of light similar to the other kind of terminals that Cass has interacted with. [02:38:43] Speaker F: Okay, I'm gonna go up to it. [02:38:46] Speaker A: Okay. [02:38:49] Speaker F: What did you use, Georgia? [02:38:53] Speaker D: I use instinct. You use instinct to perceive it, but that's only because it's my highest, highest trait. And any excuse. [02:39:02] Speaker A: I mean, what. What is Griffin? How is Griffin interacting with it? And That'll inform our. [02:39:07] Speaker D: I suppose, knowledge. Cuz you're recalling how you've seen Cass do it. [02:39:11] Speaker F: Yeah, I guess. Sort of using. Sort of basically copying what Cass did and trying to sort of get it to. To talk to him. [02:39:22] Speaker A: Okay. [02:39:23] Speaker F: Okay. [02:39:24] Speaker A: Please make me a roll. Is anyone helping Griffin in this endeavor? [02:39:29] Speaker D: I. Cass will help him. [02:39:31] Speaker A: Okay. [02:39:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:39:31] Speaker A: Spend a. Hope you can go help. [02:39:33] Speaker D: Yeah, of course. Get me hope up. There it is. [02:39:42] Speaker F: Can I use. Can I use my ability of. What's your story, friend? To [02:39:51] Speaker A: what do you do? [02:39:52] Speaker F: What's your story? [02:39:55] Speaker D: You asking that story? The Monitor. [02:39:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:39:59] Speaker A: What are you all about? What's your story, little guy? [02:40:03] Speaker C: What's going on with you? [02:40:04] Speaker A: What's going on with you? You know what. Yeah. Enter command. The console says okay go. 20 with hope. What is it you're asking? Like what is it you're looking to do? [02:40:34] Speaker F: I think Griffin's just gonna go open the vault. [02:40:44] Speaker A: As you begin sort of like twisting as the. The j. Green runes appear around your wrists and fingers. As you begin kind of manipulating this hard light. This arc light terminal. And you ask to gain access to the vault. Access to the vault will result in facility shut down. Confirm. Confirm command. Yeah. Confirm. Present authorization. And Griffin as it asks this and you Cass is helping, right? [02:41:52] Speaker D: Yes. Yeah. [02:41:56] Speaker A: Is there like this blank look from Griffin. As. As Griffin. As you turn to look at Cass and Cass, you can look at Griffin. On your left hand. Griffin. You feel a second another hand like place itself on the back of yours. And as you turn, you see kid Fran has placed his hand. Has like effectively snuck his hand along with yours. [02:42:41] Speaker F: I don't think this is the time. [02:42:45] Speaker A: And as kick like Kick Fran looks to you with gritted teeth. And as he. You can hear what sounds like a burning from. And as. And as you peer. You can see that there is an arcane glyph on the back of Kick Fran's hand that is scorching into the flesh in the shape the sigil of house Antalir Nazi pulls his hand out. You hear Authentication permitted. And as. Yeah. Kick friend sort of like holds his. His burnt hand. The cons. [02:43:31] Speaker C: The. [02:43:31] Speaker A: The console in front of you. System shutdown in 3. 2. 1. And all of the light. All of the arc light in the room vanishes. And then a moment later and the light returns. And as the. As this square room illuminates, Kick Fran gently places the glove back on. And that wasn't that hard, was it? He says as he flexes his fingers instinctively. As you with a success. The gain access clock Ticks up and you have successfully gained access. What do you do? Collectively? [02:44:53] Speaker E: I guess we got in right? Me too. That pillow thing. [02:44:59] Speaker C: Where's the inn? [02:45:03] Speaker E: It's that pillar thing, right? Oh, the big pillar thing. [02:45:08] Speaker C: The rocks explode. [02:45:10] Speaker E: Yeah, [02:45:12] Speaker C: right. Let's get back there then. [02:45:15] Speaker E: Can we get back there without the Golem or what? [02:45:22] Speaker F: I mean, they might have been deactivated now. [02:45:25] Speaker D: Well, we can hope. [02:45:32] Speaker A: Six of you emerge. Well, as the six of you emerge out into the central hall like the central hub, you can see that halfway between the stairs down and the room that you've just emerged from to the two golems that were pursuing you are like the. The Guardian golem with the hammer is slumped, the light no longer crackling from the gem on its hammer, and the turret drone with a slightly kind of bent and buckled cannon the Guardian chomped onto has slouched on its six legs as well. And yes, it appears that there appears to be, no want of a better word, life coursing through them anymore. [02:46:28] Speaker B: Can I just rip their heads off just to be safe? [02:46:34] Speaker A: You absolutely can. And as you do gy, it crunches like. As you tear the head off the. The three heads off the Guardian. The Guardian golem, it crunches satisfyingly under your strong lizard like jaws. But unlike before, it doesn't dissipate. It almost feels like you're chewing through a stone statue. [02:47:05] Speaker B: Oh, [02:47:08] Speaker A: the. The m. And the. The marble that they are constructed of now emanates that same kind of lack of anything. Like it seemingly projects a void. [02:47:33] Speaker B: This is some freaky stuff, gang. [02:47:38] Speaker D: Maybe we should get to the vault. [02:47:39] Speaker A: Get to the vault. [02:47:41] Speaker B: Get the vault. [02:47:43] Speaker A: Okay, who's leading the gang as you approach this central column? [02:47:50] Speaker D: I think Cass will lead with alimony out and new gun out just in case. [02:47:57] Speaker A: Okay, as you approach the central column, you note that the like the metallic bands that wrap around its circumference have seemingly lost their luster. They. They just seem like the metal now seems old and tarnished like it is. I mean, perhaps, Cass, you don't have anything, you don't have first hand experience to compare this to, but it would strike you that this metal looks like it's hundreds, if not thousands of years old. It is in such a way. But as you approach, the marble column in front of you begins to lower and descends into the floor. And as you look up, you can see that the marble pillar of the top floor is rising up to reveal a large kind of hole in the ceiling where the walkway that you entered in from kind of spans around and as the column in front of you descends, it begins to in almost like concentric rings. The. The inner lowers. The center of the pillar stops lowering before the others, creating a circular stairwell, like a circular set of stairs up to its plateau, almost like a ds. [02:50:07] Speaker B: You. [02:50:11] Speaker A: You notice before the stairs have even finished. Kick Fran has turned his head to. To you. And finally he says, and he begins ascending up the stairwell to the central D. [02:50:33] Speaker D: Cass is moving on after him very quickly. [02:50:36] Speaker A: Okay, as you get to the top, you see that you. You almost imagine them to be at compass points. North, south, east, west. Around the sort of like the edge of this central dias are more physical terminals. They have what appear to be kind of faces with softly glowing kind of green orbs, much like what you've interacted with elsewhere in this facility, but this time they are of a physical material. And as kickfran sort of like stops at one of them, he kind of peers at it for a moment and that, well, kind of regards it seemingly for a moment, and then begins sort of like running his fingers across some of the surfaces of the gems behind him. In the immediate, in the exact center of this DS is what looks like an egg or a bowl with a tulip constructed of white marble with metal banding. Warning. Epitaph integrity field failing. You hear announced through the air around you. What do you do? [02:52:24] Speaker E: I feel like Cooper is going to like turn to kick around, be like, look. So is this it? Is this what you want? Just so you leave us alone. [02:52:40] Speaker A: As you say, this kick friend is sort of like working his way around the controls of this console. And as you finish, he turns his head towards you as his finger depresses one of the glass orbs and what looks like a rectangular block of light emerge like projects from the console and Kick Fran pulls it out and to hold to in its hand. It almost looks like a book, like a hefty tone. And as he like regards this for a moment, he places it in his satchel. No, this is what I was after. And he turns to regard this shape, this egg like shape between, like in. In front of. I promised you that this place would hold weapons that you could use against exo. And I suspect that this is it, he says, and he leans against the console. [02:54:11] Speaker D: How. How is it a weapon [02:54:16] Speaker E: egg? [02:54:20] Speaker A: What's. What's Abe doing? There's been lots of poking of buttons and smart things and now. Now there's this large egg shape and Kick Fran's like it's a weapon. [02:54:36] Speaker D: Come on, Professor. Abe, see what's Proud. [02:54:44] Speaker B: I'm just gonna say the best way to hatch an egg is by sitting on it. [02:54:48] Speaker C: That is true. And I'm the biggest. Well, I don't know. You're great. [02:54:50] Speaker B: You're the biggest. You're the warmest one. [02:54:52] Speaker C: You're the biggest one. [02:54:53] Speaker A: And you're a lizard. [02:54:56] Speaker D: Hatch that egg around it. [02:54:59] Speaker C: It's just so. Kickfran's just like. It's a weapon. And they're not saying anything. [02:55:07] Speaker B: Behold the weapon egg. [02:55:10] Speaker A: Kid Friend is not making any moves to interact with it. Like he. It seems as if he is bestowing it. He is allowing you to claim it. [02:55:21] Speaker D: Thanks, man. [02:55:22] Speaker A: What? [02:55:23] Speaker C: It's an egg. What. What are we gonna do with it? Where do we put it? [02:55:29] Speaker D: Open? [02:55:33] Speaker C: Do we open it? [02:55:36] Speaker B: What is this thing? [02:55:39] Speaker A: It is. It's taller than ape. [02:55:43] Speaker C: Oh. [02:55:44] Speaker A: Like big egg. [02:55:45] Speaker C: That's a big egg. [02:55:47] Speaker B: That's too much egg. [02:55:49] Speaker A: 10, 11 foot tall. How are we gonna get that out? [02:55:57] Speaker C: It's. [02:55:58] Speaker B: He's taking the piss here. [02:56:00] Speaker C: He's having a joke. What a card. So right. What is. Is this. Is it something inside the egg? Inside it? Kick Fran. You gonna help at all? You got. You bought us here. You can at least tell us what it is. [02:56:21] Speaker A: Kick Fran. Kick. Friend turns to you. I wasn't lying when I said I did not know the nature of. Of the weapon. [02:56:36] Speaker C: Right? [02:56:40] Speaker A: What's Griffin doing? What's Cooper doing? [02:56:45] Speaker C: Somebody's got some. Someone's got to touch it. [02:56:47] Speaker E: Cooper's just like. This is just get. This is ridiculous. I'm going to go touch this bloody egg. [02:56:53] Speaker C: Touch the egg. [02:56:54] Speaker B: Touch the egg. [02:56:55] Speaker E: Cooper's gonna go touch the egg. And if he explodes, he explodes. Let's just go. [02:57:00] Speaker A: Okay, Cooper. As you step forward towards this marble. A metal egg. Say this. Tulip bowl. As you raise your fingers to the surface, You suddenly feel this intense fear course through the back of your mind. Strong enough that you feel your fingers waver for a moment by what you know to be this presence of kother that lingers within you. [02:57:53] Speaker C: Yeah. Maybe let the spy take it. I mean. [02:57:56] Speaker A: And as you like the. The. It fades for a moment. And then your mind and that like your fingers suddenly feel. Like they're getting hotter. You haven't made contact with this egg. But you feel like that the air around you is getting hotter. And as you blink a few times. Times. You're no longer in this vault. You're stood in the midst of a raging inferno. A sit a. An island sized wildfire tearing. Tearing through the landscape with gleeful abandonment. And as you Feel your skin burning. You can see a silhouette of a twisted and distorted Keeper Maniac Exod etched in the clouds. The smoke plumes of the flames. And you flick back to this, to the moment. And that feeling of fear in your mind becomes one of agreement. And it feels like for the first time, that presence is thinking the same as you. Okay, [02:59:53] Speaker E: well, I think the others have probably just watched Cooper pestate for quite a while. And I think you're probably used to him having these like weird flashbacks at this point. But he like takes a moment. It's okay. Everything's fine. He's gonna take a breath just. Just seeing what's going on, which we already know about. But I think it's gonna be okay. And I'll reach out and touch the egg. [03:00:35] Speaker A: As you place your hand upon on the marble, it feels deathly cold to the touch. And you can't help but instinctively recoil as the surface of the marble ripples like water. And you watch as the marble seemingly peels away to reveal the inside. And as this egg begins to open. Inside, you see a humanoid figure. A large gray hood drapes over a face of hard, angular marble pauldrons and breastplate made of the same material. And as this egg peels away to reveal what is effectively a pod, the jade green crystal gem upon the humanoid's forehead begins to flicker to life. And the figure lifts its head to look at you. Unit designate Epitaph Initializing. Initializing Unit online. Introduction I am the Epitaph. Query who are you? And we'll call it there. [03:02:46] Speaker C: Wicked. [03:02:50] Speaker A: Congratulations everyone on completing episode 18. [03:03:02] Speaker E: We've got a robot friend. [03:03:03] Speaker C: We got Robert friends. [03:03:05] Speaker B: Robbie. [03:03:05] Speaker E: How. How big? How big is this robot? Robot? [03:03:09] Speaker F: How big? [03:03:09] Speaker D: Two men? [03:03:12] Speaker C: Does he stay in his egg bag? [03:03:18] Speaker B: Do we have to find out? [03:03:23] Speaker A: We will find out more about the Epitaph next week for episode 19 of the Titan Isles. Dan. Dan was still streaming. [03:03:56] Speaker E: You okay? [03:03:58] Speaker B: Surely he's not trying to find the elsewhere and elsewhere music. [03:04:03] Speaker A: Where's it gone? [03:04:04] Speaker D: Surely nothing else. There's nothing else. [03:04:07] Speaker C: There's nothing else. [03:04:09] Speaker B: I think. [03:04:29] Speaker A: By the booming new, the booming but neutral voices ringing through the vaults. A glint. There is a glint of jade green light reflecting off of silvered arm. As a figure silently glides into the entrance hall of the vault. Two swords sheathed at its hips. The head. Of a deactivated golem in its hands. The head reflecting in the polished silver full plate mask of the Imperial Executor as it begins to glide up the stairs stairs out of the vault. Its mission complete. A cold, raspy voice echoes from underneath its face plate. Salmon extraction units, cargo acquired as the ghostly figure ascends back up into the cave and eventually into the light. The Titan Isles. Congratulations, everyone, on completing episode 18. [03:06:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [03:06:38] Speaker E: So, yeah. [03:06:42] Speaker A: Hooray. So, yeah, we're at the penultimate episode next week, episode 19. Then we only have the finale after that. Yeah, congratulations. You did a little. You did a little spelunk.
