[00:00:01] Speaker A: Previously on Alicia Rising. You know about the veil. I've brought you here because I'm confident that we will find some sort of common ground on what we're gonna do about it. [00:00:16] Speaker B: Cure the songbird, I assume. [00:00:18] Speaker A: We need you to get into the keep to find this high profile target, and we need you to bring them. [00:00:26] Speaker C: To coming back to that list, and we were saying about loads of disgruntled families. Do you think there's enough for us to start inciting a good old fashioned riot? [00:00:37] Speaker A: As one of you catches a look out of a upper floor window down into the park, you notice the riot bit has clearly started, but someone has set fire to the Statue of Unity in the middle of the park. There are a number of, like, birds burning torches in the crowds. There are some of these burning pictures being tossed onto nearby buildings. You hear a loud explosion. You hear alarms begin to ring through the keep. [00:01:05] Speaker B: I shove the door with my crutch, and it creaks over. [00:01:09] Speaker A: So as you push the door open, you find the Loravar woman in a purple coat with a purple hat. Well, this is a terrible mess, isn't it? [00:01:30] Speaker C: Welcome to Elysia, the jewel of the north. On our gilded streets, fortune and fame can be found by anyone. [00:01:41] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Julia, and I'm playing Magpie and ace of our lurk. [00:01:46] Speaker E: Hi, I'm Nate, and I'm playing cavern, a dragon scent slide. [00:01:52] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Meg. [00:01:53] Speaker C: I'm playing Frieda, a wolfkin cutter. [00:01:57] Speaker B: Hi, I'm JC, and I'll be playing algaenon, an ace of our spider. [00:02:02] Speaker F: Hello, I'm Erol. I am playing atta, a goblin whisper. [00:02:07] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan. I will be the games master on this adventure. [00:02:12] Speaker C: So come on in and marvel at our wonders. Make sure you see the beautiful views we have to offer. And don't mind the ghosts. They're friendly, really. Grab yourselves a seat and make yourselves welcome in the city of Elysia. [00:02:34] Speaker A: Hello, and welcome back to explorers of elsewhere's Elysia rising. I am dMdan. These are my esteemed colleagues, and this. [00:02:47] Speaker E: Is my Ansr channel. [00:02:52] Speaker A: So you find yourselves in the ruby keep, in the northwestern tower of the ruby keep, in the center of Elysia, staring through the doorway at a perched Loravar woman in purple. At her feet lies a prone black guard, and scenes of chaos and devastation are sprawling out from the park to the west of the keep. As this, as the protest turned riot organized by the cobbles appeared to have expanded beyond anyone's real expectations. And the sounds of a spoon silver spoon circling the inside of a teacup, as the lady, the woman in purple, says to you, oh, this is rather a mess, isn't it? What do you do? [00:04:05] Speaker D: I think. I think Magpie's just really pissed off at this point with everything that's going wrong around them. And I think she's just gonna look at the lady in purple and say, sorry, we may have got the wrong room. We're looking for a high value prisoner who needs rescuing. Have you seen one? [00:04:24] Speaker A: Oh, yes, that would be me. [00:04:28] Speaker D: Hmm. You seem to have this under control. [00:04:32] Speaker A: Oh, no, I'm definitely in need of rescuing. [00:04:39] Speaker D: So look at the others. [00:04:42] Speaker B: So the ringmaster costume's not just for show. You are the orchestrator of this circus. [00:04:49] Speaker A: She pouts at you and. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Algae, no. Consider me more an interested observer. [00:05:05] Speaker C: Right. Well, I observe. We better get the hell out of here before everything kicks off again. Right, lads? [00:05:15] Speaker A: That absolutely, she says with a small. And she, like, plonks her teacup and saucer on the kind of arrow frame window slit. Like, it fits. It fits. It's big enough that it fits in. And she stands up and, like, overdramatically steps over the black guard. [00:05:40] Speaker C: You're gonna have to teach us how to do that. [00:05:43] Speaker D: Magpie just sort of taps and flounces out ahead of everybody else. [00:05:49] Speaker A: So, yeah, the. The lady kind of stands with her, like, she's holding her wrists just kind of loosely down by her waist, and she looks at you with a, like, a pleasant, expectant smile. [00:06:06] Speaker C: All right. Yay. And Frida's gonna pull out another set of handcuffs and some of sort of. Can I close them? Yeah, just close them around her wrists. [00:06:19] Speaker A: I guess she. She kind of looks a bit surprised and. Oh, like that, is it? She says, and then holds her hands in a ready position for you to shackle them. [00:06:30] Speaker C: I imagine you'd have no problem getting out of them if you needed to. [00:06:35] Speaker A: She titters. Um, what's Atta feeling right now? [00:06:47] Speaker F: Probably still thinking about that wizard and what he says. Um, I suppose, like, atta, though, is kind of, there has to be something. Either this person is incredibly skilled, or there has to be something weirdly magical going on. I think Ata's getting a little bit crackpot theory that everything's got something magical going on, so it's kind of sniffing around and kind of scrutinizing their person for, like, art items, I suppose. [00:07:23] Speaker A: How's Algernon feeling? Because I'm assuming this wasn't part of the plan. [00:07:29] Speaker B: No, he was expecting some kind of sangrevoir. And maybe he was. Excuse me. Maybe he was expecting, like, someone from house Antalya or someone from his own past. And he's just been completely blindsided by this woman who has been eluding the gang since the start. And he doesn't like being out of the loop. [00:07:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:54] Speaker E: Catherine's gonna lean into Algernon and kind of go, like, did you not see this in your special bath juice? [00:08:04] Speaker B: The special baths haven't been giving me much juice lately at Kaverin. [00:08:10] Speaker A: Amazing. And as you. As you sort of, like, hiss that back at Katherine, the lady. The purple lady looks to you with a small pout of the lips. You poor thing. She seems to be saying. [00:08:28] Speaker B: Can I. We zoom in on Algernon's ear, and we see he's got one of the gossipers earrings on. Oh, and I. And I say, songbird, you better start singing. [00:08:45] Speaker D: So cool. [00:08:46] Speaker A: Okay. And you hear in. It sounds like a slightly kind of underwater voice. Responds, I'm bringing the whole damn choir, but you better be quick. This. This crowd seems a bit wild. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Yes. Some fiery temperaments among them. I have observed. [00:09:12] Speaker A: You. You hear us all, like, shouting people to sort, like, figure out what on earth is. Is going wrong or going on, I should say. But, yes, you. You. It's kind of hard to hear for all of the. Like, the clacks and alarms are going off through the. Through the tower. Like, you know, they're kind of magical order audio kind of beacons. The ringing. You know that you are in a desperate position and is going to take some time for you to escape the keep. [00:09:48] Speaker D: Escape the keep clock. [00:09:52] Speaker A: So, yes, it seems like songbird is beginning. Like you've given the alert for songbirds to kind of introduce the marionettes into the fray. So what's. What's the plan? [00:10:07] Speaker C: Do I have time to essentially switch clothes with the blackguard? [00:10:15] Speaker A: I would say you do. [00:10:17] Speaker C: I think that would be a good way of getting us down and out with the prisoner. Quite. [00:10:23] Speaker A: I would say you do. But there's gonna be a fortune check to see if anyone turns up whilst you're delaying. [00:10:32] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. [00:10:35] Speaker C: What do we think? [00:10:36] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, I think you should do it. Magpie is happy to try and keep a watch. She's gonna post herself up in a sort of little alcove in the corridor outside so she can see if anyone's coming. [00:10:49] Speaker A: Hey. [00:10:51] Speaker C: Fortune roll. This is exciting. [00:10:54] Speaker A: So, as you start to get changed in. Are you changing into the black guard uniform? [00:11:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Putting on the armor. Okay. [00:11:02] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:02] Speaker A: So you'll have to recruit someone to help you put it on because it is like plate armor. [00:11:08] Speaker C: Hey, come on, carve. You've seen it all before. [00:11:17] Speaker A: Okay, so the guard have rolled a partial success. So as you're putting it on, you can hear that there are guard approaching your position. They aren't quite there yet, but they will arrive momentarily. [00:11:38] Speaker F: Can I try a flashback? [00:11:40] Speaker A: You can. [00:11:42] Speaker F: Is a flashback where we have over polished a certain section of the floor being housekeeper. Housekeeper maids. And perhaps we have also kind of artfully placed some sharp cutlery in places as well, just to kind of. We've. We've. We've home alone. We've home alone. One of the corridors that we think the guards are likely to come from. [00:12:12] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna say it's gonna be a tinker. Yeah. Because you've almost got some of Coley caulking things in a precise way to. For maximum carnage. [00:12:23] Speaker F: Yeah, I'll wait for the role to do anyway. Okay, Tinker. And it just. The regular. [00:12:30] Speaker A: This is a desperate standard. Tinker. Sorry. No risky standard. Because this happened before everything went to ship. [00:12:40] Speaker F: Okay. Come on, dice. Don't fuck me too hard. Okay? Yeah. [00:12:47] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So you. You hear, like, the sounds of footsteps, like, charging up the stairwell to your location. And, like, after you're kind of stood there and, like, your ears perks up and you're like, three, two, one. And you almost hear them. The sound of the, like, the trip wire snapping. And Magpie, you. You kind. Did you help with this? Or was it so, like, Magpie, I. [00:13:25] Speaker F: Knows the right silverware for optimal pain. [00:13:28] Speaker A: I feel you hear bedlam and carnage from the stairwell as, like, the trip wire is set off, the trap triggers. And just also, like, more magpie, more carnage than it sounds like there has any right to be happening. [00:13:46] Speaker D: Right? [00:13:48] Speaker A: And you hear, like, the sounds, people falling down the stairs. You hear, like, screams of pain. You hear. And, like atta, you successfully reduce the clock. So you've rolled a partial. So let's reduce that by two. So the enforcements reinforcements have been stalled. [00:14:10] Speaker D: We. [00:14:13] Speaker A: Who's. Who's up? Well, and in this time, Frieda, you emerge in a slightly snug black guard uniform. And have you got the helmet on? [00:14:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:14:28] Speaker A: As you pull the helmet on. [00:14:34] Speaker B: And. [00:14:35] Speaker A: You see through the sort, like, the red ruby lenses of the faceplate, you notice that, like, you're. You're looking at your friends, and they don't look like themselves. They look like ghastly, ghoulish, ghostly versions of themselves. And, like, as you move your head from side to side. It's almost like the world is sort of like underwater lagging behind you just like swirls of light as people move around. And you're not entirely sure, but you would hazard a guess that what you're seeing are people's spirits. [00:15:24] Speaker C: Oh boy. [00:15:25] Speaker D: Oh, this is uh. [00:15:27] Speaker C: Oh, I haven't got time now, but you've got to see this. This is gonna make me motion sick and. Huh. Well. [00:15:36] Speaker B: Can I just do a quick study on the. Quick study on the black guard who has been de armoured. Yes. Because I felt that there's something sinister up with them for a while. So I just wanted to like check if I can see if there's any sort of damage on him from being a blackguard. [00:15:52] Speaker A: As you roll the blackguard over is a very kind of burly, very muscular, almost unusually so. Loravar man. But as you turn him over, you notice that his eyes and mouth are stitched shut. [00:16:14] Speaker D: Wait, hold the phone. What? [00:16:21] Speaker C: No wonder this arm is a bit snug. [00:16:26] Speaker A: Yeah. And yet you look up at freedom, who's just sort of like looking around from side to side and like you're. You're sight rests on the ruby lenses of the helmet. But yeah, like the. The stitching is like there's no kind of recent scarring. This seems to have been done a long time ago. [00:16:58] Speaker B: Don't get too comfortable in there frida. [00:17:01] Speaker C: I don't think I will. Quick curiosity, does anyone's souls look different to anyone else's? [00:17:16] Speaker A: Algons probably looks a bit brighter. [00:17:22] Speaker D: Okay. [00:17:24] Speaker A: But it's difficult to tell with this, like, because your world is red. Like everything is red and. But like the souls are this kind of bluish white kind of shapes in the rough form of people. It's really hard to differentiate who is who. But you can tell Atta because it's the small one. But like you hear what, as Algernon says something out loud, you turn to look and it's like that blob of light seems to be. Yeah, that much, that much brighter. Ever so slightly. [00:18:06] Speaker B: Because I'm a nobleman, naturally. [00:18:11] Speaker C: Better soul reader just says, I'll give you lighting up like an imass tree here. This is very weird. We better get out of here real. [00:18:22] Speaker A: Quick before you begin your escape. And bear in mind there are reinforcements still coming. What? Loadouts? What weight of loadouts are you all taking? [00:18:34] Speaker D: No. [00:18:35] Speaker A: Or more time for a medium. [00:18:37] Speaker D: So that there's what this light medium heavy. Is that right? And medium is how much? [00:18:43] Speaker A: I believe it's four or five I usually go light. [00:18:48] Speaker D: I'll go light. [00:18:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:50] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:18:52] Speaker A: Atar. [00:18:54] Speaker F: Um. I feel like I want to go. If me and Magpie were in a team, I think if one of us went light, one of us went medium, it would make sense. Just in case. [00:19:05] Speaker A: Okay. [00:19:05] Speaker F: Yeah. So I'll go medium. [00:19:09] Speaker A: Okay, you're going medium. Algalm? [00:19:15] Speaker B: I'm going medium as well. [00:19:16] Speaker A: Okay. Covering. [00:19:17] Speaker E: I'm going light. [00:19:20] Speaker C: And Frida, I believe I've got a normal. [00:19:28] Speaker A: Yeah, Frida, I will say off the bat, as you're now wearing blackguard armor. [00:19:38] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:39] Speaker A: That is. You've got three loads worth of armor, boy. [00:19:47] Speaker C: Okay. That means I'm on heavy. [00:19:51] Speaker A: If you're taking the black guards halberd, that is a two handed weapon, a large weapon. So another two. [00:20:02] Speaker C: So you're now on five now because I've got my fancy bloodletting blade. [00:20:07] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So you leave. [00:20:11] Speaker C: Leaving the halberd. [00:20:14] Speaker A: Okay. Very, very good. So. So you've got the bloodletting blade. Have you also got a scary looking hand weapon? [00:20:26] Speaker C: I've got the bloodletting blade, a scary looking hand weapon, and the rage essence vial. And I did think about maybe the manacles chain as well, but I. [00:20:37] Speaker B: You can get. You can just say that you have them whenever it comes up. [00:20:41] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah, potentially. [00:20:45] Speaker A: Well, that puts you on. Yes. You're on five. Okay, cool, cool, cool. Fab. Okay, so, yes, you've got your loadout limits, so feel free to add things as you make your way out. What is your first port of call? What's your 1st. 1st set of actions? As you hear the sounds of the guard kind of clattering down, back down the stairs, they ran up and Frieda stomps out from behind you in foot, head to toe in lacquered black armor. [00:21:16] Speaker D: I want to make for the nearest secret passageway. They're all rushing to this location. We need to get off the beaten track. I think we need to make it. [00:21:27] Speaker C: Down to that basement. [00:21:28] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, we're gonna sound into those, but I think first port of calls are the nearest hidden passageway. [00:21:36] Speaker A: Sure. I mean, this does sound like the textbook definition of group role. If you're all. If you're all sneak like, making your way as discreetly as you can through the nearest exit. Magpie, are you leading the sneak? [00:21:54] Speaker D: Yes. Go on. I'll leave sneak. So are we prowling or doing whatever everyone thinks they're best at to achieve this? [00:22:03] Speaker A: That's it. So everyone will need to prowl. Everyone that fails is one stressful Magpie and the highest result amongst you all is the result. Magpie, this will be. Well, sorry for everyone. This is a desperate standard, actually. You're in the keep, aren't you? So it's a desperate limited baseline because of the higher security. [00:22:34] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:35] Speaker A: If one of you wants to up, like, push yourself or take a devil's bargain in exchange for, like, upping the effect level, that will obviously be more segments on the clock. If your result is the one that. [00:22:48] Speaker B: Rolls highest, I can use my special armor to put the effect level up. [00:22:57] Speaker D: Oh, me too. Actually, I've got the special armor as well, but maybe I'll save it for something else. [00:23:05] Speaker C: The other choice we have is if we split the party. And, for example, so cavern and I are still in. Still in, you know, uniform and stuff. [00:23:18] Speaker D: So you could try to point them in the other direction. They went that way. Or just. [00:23:24] Speaker C: Yes, essentially, if you. If you slip out the back with lady in purple and the squishy people. [00:23:30] Speaker D: Yeah, that's a good idea. [00:23:32] Speaker C: And then, you know, we can try and make our way down through using our wiles. [00:23:39] Speaker F: But. [00:23:41] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:23:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. [00:23:43] Speaker F: It's up to you, kav. [00:23:44] Speaker C: What do. What do you think, Nate? [00:23:47] Speaker E: No, I think that sounds good. [00:23:49] Speaker D: Okay. Algernon, Atta and Magpie taking the purple lady to the back passageways. [00:23:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:56] Speaker D: And Frieda and Cavern are deceptioning them their way down. [00:24:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:24:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:03] Speaker A: In which case, so, Atta, Magpie and Algernon, please make me your prayer roles at. Who's leading? [00:24:08] Speaker D: Who is leading? Good question. Shall Magpie lead? Happy? [00:24:13] Speaker F: Happy to lead. I've not got great prowl, but I was going to maybe. See, I don't think this will work because I don't think this is how group checks work. But what if Atta had tinkered with the dumb waiter earlier as a method to which to escape in a flashback? [00:24:38] Speaker A: That is. That is plausible. I think that is going to be a stress to tinker with that. And then you can make your tinker. [00:24:47] Speaker F: Roll instead of a prowl. Or as well as if you're looking. [00:24:53] Speaker A: To do that tinker check, you can attribute that to the escape for keep clock. [00:24:58] Speaker F: Okay. That could still help. Okay. [00:25:04] Speaker A: See you doing that in the flashback. [00:25:06] Speaker C: Yeah, why not? [00:25:07] Speaker F: Come on, we're playing a game. Let's play a game. And then I'll roll. [00:25:12] Speaker A: Yeah. One stress, and that'll be a. I'm gonna say if it's a dumb waiter, I'm gonna say that's a desperate standard because there would have been a lot of people. You'd have to done it in a very quick turnaround. [00:25:30] Speaker F: I'm rolling so many dice, and it's so risky. Okay, I. Marshall. [00:25:33] Speaker D: Success. Five's good. [00:25:35] Speaker A: Okay, so five gives you two segments on the clock and atta, as you have rolled a desperate, you can add one xp to your insight. [00:25:50] Speaker F: Oh. [00:25:53] Speaker A: Okay. [00:25:54] Speaker D: So now make your group roll prowl time. [00:25:58] Speaker F: And it's a desperate. [00:26:00] Speaker A: Oh, God. [00:26:01] Speaker D: Well, I gave. I just gave myself a stress for failing. Whoops. [00:26:07] Speaker F: Desperate, limited. Oh, good work. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Failed. [00:26:12] Speaker C: Oh. [00:26:12] Speaker D: Four is a failure. How is a six a failure? Oh, are you both at. [00:26:17] Speaker B: We're both on disadvantage. [00:26:18] Speaker D: Right. [00:26:19] Speaker F: Okay. [00:26:20] Speaker D: Whoops. So, our best there was three. [00:26:26] Speaker A: Okay. He suffers a rear harm. A complication occurs. You lose this opportunity for action. You, as you make your way through to, like, as you begin beelining towards the secret passage and where you know that dumb waiter is going to be, you hear from behind you. There they are. That way. There they are. And a. A city kind of watch who's just come out that has, like, multiple prong wounds on his cheeks, presumably from the trap from earlier spies. You. You're no longer able to prowl. [00:27:17] Speaker D: Okay. [00:27:18] Speaker A: Um, and the tube of the dumbwaiter. There is a. Explosions from somewhere, and a gout of flame roars up the flute and, like, bursts, effectively blows open the doors of the dumbwaiter, kind of knocking you back slightly. And, like, you can see this fire kind of lipping out. And, Algernon, you notice that the fire itself seems to be sticking to the stonework cavern. And, Frieda. [00:27:53] Speaker C: Yes. Hello. [00:27:55] Speaker A: What are you doing? [00:28:00] Speaker E: Have we seen them try to escape? [00:28:03] Speaker A: And a city guard spotted them, so, effectively. Yeah, you can have. I'm guessing you all kind of went the same way and then branched, and then after the branch, they've then been kind of in a vertical snuck up on by the guards coming up the stairwell. [00:28:23] Speaker C: So we. We have witnessed it. [00:28:26] Speaker A: You can have. [00:28:26] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Okay. [00:28:30] Speaker E: If it's only one guard, but he's. Obviously. They're calling. They're calling for the rest of the guard. I have some trance powder that I can use on this guard to knock them out. Okay, well, it doesn't make them unconscious, but rather retreats into a calm, suggestible mental state. [00:28:58] Speaker A: Sure. Okay. I will argue that you can use this trance powder to, for example, go for sway or command or something along those lines. Yeah. He will regard you effectively. It's dust of friends can trip. Yeah. [00:29:17] Speaker C: So I tell you what. Let's. Let's, um. We can combine that with my kind of half plan, which is to basically. And now I'm in this big old blackguard uniform to sort of step in and take over the situation, you know, and sort of arrest our friends, as it were. [00:29:34] Speaker A: Yes. Okay. Okay. So, cavern, in which case it sounds like, well, you can do one or two, like, mark off the trance powder. And you. You can help if you so wish, or you can just leave Frieda to roll. This will be a command role, I suspect. [00:29:55] Speaker C: I'm doing it. What position are we doing? [00:29:59] Speaker A: So this is a desperate. I'm gonna say desperate standard, because you're wearing the black guard uniform. [00:30:08] Speaker C: Okay. Can I push myself, please? [00:30:18] Speaker A: Not now. Oh, no. So, on a. You can resist. [00:30:25] Speaker F: We can resist it. [00:30:26] Speaker C: Yeah, that's it. Sorry, I meant resist. [00:30:28] Speaker A: Okay. Like, as you approach the guard, and you're sort of, like, shouting. Like, you try to. There's a puff of trance dust. The guard turns around, coughs and splutters, and as you go to command him, Frieda, the guard takes one look at you and noticing you've not got your halberd. Like, looks to you in a very concerned manner, like, doesn't believe you whatsoever. And, yeah, you'll lose this opportunity. [00:31:09] Speaker C: And I call for friends. [00:31:11] Speaker A: Like, call for friends more. Cool. [00:31:13] Speaker C: In that case, can I react by bringing out my sword? Whacking him in the side, the head with the pommel. Try knock him out. [00:31:22] Speaker A: You can. If you're not resisting. Reinforcement clock will finish. But, yeah, roll me a skirmish. I guess this is a one on one. So let's say a desperate standard. [00:31:38] Speaker C: Better. [00:31:40] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, you draw your. Your bloodletter blade, and as you pommel, strike the. The guard in the side of the head. The guard is not to the side and kind of drops to one knee. But as that happens, a ream, like, another guard comes up round the corner and then sees you having just struck the guard and then lunges at you and catches you in between the plates of your armor with a spear tip. So, like, your midriff. So that's going to be severe harm. However you can. So level two harm, you can reduce that with your armor. [00:32:30] Speaker C: Can I try and resist it altogether? [00:32:36] Speaker A: You can. That will cause, like, you need to take stress. [00:32:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:32:41] Speaker A: The plate armor you're wearing, you basically have armor boxes. I believe your heavy armor would normally have two. Two boxes, but the plate armor you're wearing has three. So you can mark off one box to reduce or avoid a consequence instead of rolling to resist. [00:33:02] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Yeah, fine. I will mark off a box. [00:33:05] Speaker A: So that will be a. Like a bruised hip rather than a laceration. So that's a level one. Cool. [00:33:17] Speaker C: It's just not going how I planned. [00:33:19] Speaker D: It's not going how any of us planned. [00:33:21] Speaker A: Meg, who's next with the escape plan? [00:33:24] Speaker E: I was gonna say, seeing this happen to Frida, I would like to do a finesse to probably kick the guard that's just stabbed her. Sort of kick him off his feet, sort of do like a sweeping kick. [00:33:43] Speaker A: Okay. [00:33:44] Speaker E: So he falls to the ground. And if everyone is happy for me to do this, because it will put two additional heat onto us, I would like to use my, my special armor for that to do a dragon scent special move. Yeah. [00:34:02] Speaker D: So what does that do? [00:34:04] Speaker E: Basically means I pass the role. [00:34:06] Speaker C: He's gonna go super Saiyan, but you. [00:34:08] Speaker E: Add heat, I occur to heat. So if everyone's happy for me to do that. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Okay, we reduced the heat a fair. [00:34:17] Speaker F: Bit like last time, so I think. [00:34:20] Speaker A: Okay, so you're making a finesse roll. Yeah, but, yeah. You may expend your special armor, so you have an ability called emergent divinity. You may expend your special to all automatically pass a role, but you accrue an additional two heat. So if you go and chuck emergent divinity in the chat. Boom, boom. And as you kind of step forward, what does your, like, explosion of inner divine ness look like? [00:35:01] Speaker E: I think all of him, like, glows, like probably the same blue as his eyes. Like his eyes lose their pupils and they go into just a full blue, like a blinding sort of bright blue. And he sort of radiates, like a blue sort of light out of him, just like around him, like an aura. As he sort of almost sort of uncharacteristically sort of swipes his leg underneath the foot of this guard. [00:35:38] Speaker A: Sure. And as the guard, like, turns him, like, shields his eyes, it throws him off guard completely enough that you sweep the leg. The guard goes like all four limbs are up off the ground and there's a big crash as he comes back down in a heap. Yeah, you. So I'm going to, so the reinforcements clock has finished, but at least that guard is now kind of dealt with. [00:36:08] Speaker E: He's going to turn back and just kind of like, let's get out of here now. [00:36:13] Speaker A: Presumably as the light just disappears. Okay, so yeah, as you all blink, because you've been momentarily blinded by this flashbang, that is Kavarin. Yeah. What's the next step? [00:36:26] Speaker B: Seeing the flames reminds Aghanon of his most recent foresight vision of apocalyptic fire. And he's going to take out the little snuff box which he keeps some of the foresight mineral in and he's just gonna do a bump and just go direct people wherever it tells him to get a little, little short, short term burst of foresight with a tune. [00:36:54] Speaker A: Okay, that sounds good. [00:36:56] Speaker C: Shit's hit the fan and algae's doing lines. [00:37:03] Speaker A: Like as Algernon's doing this magpie, you notice that the flames that burst out the dumbwaiter tube that have kind of stuck to the opposite stone wall, it seems to be spreading like the stone itself seems to be burning. [00:37:21] Speaker D: How? Like, what do, what do I make of that? Is this is not normal fire or. [00:37:28] Speaker A: It doesn't appear to have the normal properties of normal fire. No. [00:37:32] Speaker D: Right. [00:37:32] Speaker C: It's magic. [00:37:33] Speaker D: Is it between us and where we need to go, or are we moving away from that? [00:37:37] Speaker A: You'll be moving away from it. [00:37:39] Speaker D: Okay, just as well. [00:37:41] Speaker A: Yeah, it like there, I guess. All of you take a moment to acknowledge that the stone keep is burning. [00:37:52] Speaker D: Unexpected. How does the purple lady look in all of this, by the way? [00:37:57] Speaker A: She is genteelly stood behind all of you just watching. And like Algaon and you, and like your world shrinks and then kind of comes into sharp, almost painfully sharp focus and you're able to. Well, if you make your trim roll to see how well the effects are. [00:38:24] Speaker B: Is it desperate? [00:38:25] Speaker A: It's still a desperate position. Position, but let's say desperate. Let's say you're in a tier six area, so it's desperate, limited. [00:38:37] Speaker B: I'm gonna spend my special armor now to bump it up to standard. Standard. [00:38:42] Speaker A: Okay, sounds good. [00:38:43] Speaker D: But by the way, are we. Every time we're doing a desperate roll, we're marking experience in that area, aren't we? [00:38:50] Speaker A: What, one per year? [00:38:52] Speaker D: One per roll. Okay. [00:38:54] Speaker A: Yeah. So you can, yeah, you can get maximum of one xp in each of the three for the desperate. [00:39:00] Speaker D: Oh, is that it? One, one per. [00:39:05] Speaker A: Four? Okay. Yes. So you like as you, as your world kind of from the effects of the. The force sight. Yeah. Your, your attention is grabbed by like, the flames that have stuck and burning the stone. And. Yeah, there are those creeping in. There's creeping imagery of the flames that are beginning to threaten to roll over you, but you managed to suppress them enough. And, and like you're wash, you're slightly distracted, you're still able to point that away. You add one segment to this keep, the key will go with a reduced effect on that. Unless you wish to resist. [00:39:55] Speaker B: I think I. I will resist. [00:39:58] Speaker A: Okay. [00:39:58] Speaker B: Because it's. [00:39:59] Speaker A: Would it be resolve for a tune? Yes. [00:40:05] Speaker B: Cool. I've got. [00:40:07] Speaker A: Got. [00:40:09] Speaker C: Oh, wow. [00:40:15] Speaker A: You suffered two stress. Okay, so I will say that you resist the reduction, which means it's a full whack. So you. It's taxing to suppress the heightened sense of fear that you see from the encroaching flames, but you're able to. Is this. No. That way, you point in a different direction that leads the party further down. [00:40:43] Speaker B: I'm sort of seeing us as a party sort of a few seconds in the future and following our sort of future foresight, ghosts as we go where it lever leads. [00:40:55] Speaker A: Amazing. In which case, the four of you duck through one of these secret passageways just in time, as Frieda, like, clanks through behind him in the armor, just in time to avoid a group of guard that are running to inspect what's happening. And you can hear cries of bring water. Bring water. As panic as the fire carries on spreading you, the passageway that you've found leads you to a stairwell that kind of leads pretty much all the way down the tower until you're in the main hall, body of the keep. As you emerge, you see that there is a lot more kind of fire damage, and there's a. There's a lot more spreading flame around you. You can see that there are a number of torches that are kind of lying around, dotted in the corridors here and there, and the flame seems to be spreading from them, and it's burning unusually bright. I would argue you have a choice. It would be quicker to try and make your escape through the front door in the vertocommas, or you can take the longer route through to the sewers. [00:42:26] Speaker F: Can I ask if. Whether. If I brought a ghost key with me, I can find a ghost door for us to use. [00:42:37] Speaker D: What's a ghost door? [00:42:40] Speaker F: I don't know whether ghost doors exist in this, but it's like a whisper item. It's an arcane device that can open ghost doors. There's an echo city. It's like, sometimes you can find a door where. Maybe a door, shouldn't they. [00:43:00] Speaker D: Where does it take you? Does it trans. Does it, like, teleport you around? Does it just get you through, like, a wall or something? Oh, no. [00:43:09] Speaker A: So you might explore the. The echo of an ancient building. Crumbled dust in the real world but still present in the ghost field. Or discern the electroplasmic glow of treasures lost in the depths of the canals. Or use a sorceress ghost or from the pre cataclysm to infiltrate an otherwise secure location. Uh huh. [00:43:30] Speaker F: You also get to say, no, Dan. [00:43:36] Speaker A: I'm trying. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how that would. How we can work that. [00:43:44] Speaker F: Maybe the way to the sewers moved. [00:43:48] Speaker A: Hmm. I'm gonna argue that the. Because effectively, this is a ghost stories, like, get you into something that you wouldn't normally have gotten into, is what I'm basically reading here. Like, echo of an ancient building, crumbled dust, sorceress ghost store to infiltrate another way. Secure location. I'm gonna say, for us, it is a short ranged orb of dimension door to let you teleport from. Effectively teleport from one spot to another. Like, you just seamlessly step through one location to the next. How does that sound? [00:44:35] Speaker F: Sounds good. If we did want to go out the front door, maybe that could get us, like, not, like, seeing as we emerge from. Like, it doesn't look. It looks like the door opens. The front door opens in the. We just appear, like, a short range. So it doesn't actually look like we emerged from the door or. I don't know if there's a way for us to get into the sewers using that, but I don't know even if it will work. [00:45:06] Speaker D: Also, it might be. It might help us shortcut through towards the sewers a bit further. So it might take the clock up a bit, I guess. [00:45:15] Speaker C: I reckon let's try and go the long way. Use the dimension door to shorten that route. Like. Yeah, basically. I agree with. I agree with Julia because I think going through the front door probably not. [00:45:28] Speaker D: Could be real bad right now. [00:45:31] Speaker A: Sure. Okay. So, fundamentally, what I'm thinking is two orbs, one of them and each of them create a doorway. So, once they've kind of been. Once they are deployed, quote unquote, you can set the. Through one door and step out the other. So, effectively, the second door is. The range of it is, like, how far you can throw it, kind of thing. [00:45:56] Speaker D: Oh, okay. You could. You could drop it down the spiral staircase, like, within the whole. The gap between all the. The actual staircase. And so it could go to the bottom, and then we could just step through rather than running down the thing. [00:46:11] Speaker F: Or out a window and then on a wall. So, like, a window out to the streets. Like, if we can see a window that goes out to the streets, you could kind of. I don't know. [00:46:23] Speaker A: Okay, I'm. It's up to you. How would you like to deploy it? [00:46:29] Speaker F: We can save it if we feel like we need to circumvent some people. What were you gonna. Sorry. Say, meg, I think, yeah. [00:46:35] Speaker C: Either the window idea or save it to circumvent. [00:46:39] Speaker F: Mm hmm. [00:46:41] Speaker A: Okay, so what's, what's the plan? As you kind of get into the. The main. The main halls of the keep, which are getting more and more burned up by the moment. [00:46:53] Speaker C: I guess head downwards, head down, running down. Yeah, we've got the plans, haven't we? So we. [00:46:59] Speaker A: We should know the way who's. Okay, so if you're. How are you? Well, I'm guessing this is, again, this is a group role. So how are you getting there? What. What skill are you using? [00:47:12] Speaker C: Can I, can I actually go first and use a command role? And I'm going to bring the purple lady with me in chains. So it looks like I am escorting the prisoner basically through with a safe passage out of the. Out of the thing. [00:47:29] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, by all means, you can roll command to tell people to get all the way again in the chaos and carnage. It's going to be a desperate, limited. [00:47:42] Speaker C: Can I push myself? I'm going to remember. Say it this time. [00:47:46] Speaker A: You can. So that is two stress. [00:47:49] Speaker C: That's fine. Yeah, it's fine. I operated fine on two stress last time. It's all good. [00:47:58] Speaker A: I will also offer you a devil's bargain. Ooh. [00:48:02] Speaker C: We do like devil's bargains. [00:48:05] Speaker A: No matter what happens, you draw the attention of a black guard. [00:48:11] Speaker C: Oh, shit. Um hmm. [00:48:17] Speaker D: No, no, no. [00:48:19] Speaker A: Because if you do use, then you could use your wolf. Cannabis. [00:48:25] Speaker D: I could not go toe to toe with a black guard. [00:48:31] Speaker A: Maybe you get two dice on the devil's bargain instead of one. [00:48:34] Speaker C: Yeah, it means I get two dice, but just because I. Just because a black guard sees us doesn't necessarily mean it fights us. So there is still an opportunity to kind of bamboozle them. [00:48:47] Speaker D: Mmm. [00:48:50] Speaker B: I think they'll probably know that you're not a blackguard. [00:48:55] Speaker D: This one might not be as observant. [00:49:00] Speaker C: Yeah, they've got everything. What do we think, gang? [00:49:03] Speaker D: They've not got eyes. [00:49:05] Speaker F: Follow your heart, Meg. Always with devil's barber. [00:49:09] Speaker D: It's a dicey one, but why not? [00:49:13] Speaker C: I mean, the worst that could happen is, is I get traumatized or I die, so. [00:49:18] Speaker D: Yeah, that's pretty much the worst. Yeah. [00:49:21] Speaker E: Yeah, that is the worst that can happen. [00:49:23] Speaker C: And I will get a nice juicy xp out of it, so bugger it. Devil's bargain, Dan. Woo. [00:49:30] Speaker D: So you're doing plus one die and standard effect, is that it? Cause you're pushing and taking the double slider. [00:49:39] Speaker A: You get two upgrades. Pushing yourself. You get a third. [00:49:44] Speaker F: Please don't push yourself. [00:49:46] Speaker C: I'm pushing. [00:49:47] Speaker D: Okay, it's going. [00:49:49] Speaker C: I'm doing. I'm doing the thing. [00:49:51] Speaker A: So you're on desperate limited. So you can roll extra dice or you can increase the effect. [00:49:57] Speaker C: If I'm pushing myself, I get an extra die anyway, right? I'm gonna go extra die. And then can I upgrade my position and effect for the other two? [00:50:09] Speaker A: Just the effect. [00:50:11] Speaker C: Let's upgrade the effect. The standard. Oh, great. No, great. Let's do great. Why not greater? [00:50:18] Speaker A: Okay, so it's a desperate greater. [00:50:20] Speaker C: Yeah, and I should have. And I've got three die. It'll be fine. Famous last words. Okay, it's. Okay. It's not stopping dire. [00:50:34] Speaker A: So great effect. So that would normally be three chunks, but then it's down to two. Okay, so you're. As you move into the keep, like, the scene in front of you is. It's bedlam. Like, there are people, there are guard, there are staff running left, right, and center square, screaming. You notice that someone has grabbed a bucket of water and throws it on some flame. And horrifyingly, it seems to spread the fire further as the flat, as the water pushes it out, and it begins burning more and more rock. And you can see sort of like, the air is filled with this kind of black dust, of, like, charred, almost volcanic kind of debris floating about. And you so freed, you spy, like, the route that you need to go through, and it's across this hall. And as you saw, like, as you shout out the way out the way everyone else you hear, like Frieda's voice seems, is seemingly amplified through the helmet as you're commanding people to move. But a black guard stood on the other side of the hall, turns and looks at you and focuses in on the fact that you're shouting at people to get out the way and silently begins stomping towards you. [00:52:08] Speaker C: Oh, it'd be really good time for that dimension door now. [00:52:13] Speaker D: Little head, wouldn't it? [00:52:15] Speaker A: I'm going to introduce a 06:00 called the black guard. [00:52:25] Speaker D: Stop it. Stop it. [00:52:31] Speaker A: So who's up next, right? [00:52:34] Speaker C: You murdered me in the last campaign, Dan. You're not allowed to murder me in this one as well. [00:52:41] Speaker A: Who's up next? As you start to hear the sounds of cries, tracking timbers as the flames. [00:52:47] Speaker D: Let's just get this escape the keep clock done, guys. Let's just go. Leave this blackguard for dust. [00:52:53] Speaker C: Bye bye. [00:52:54] Speaker D: Let's just leave dimension Dora. [00:52:58] Speaker C: Quick, atta. [00:52:59] Speaker D: Okay, okay. Get us out of here. Atta. [00:53:04] Speaker F: Look deeply into the orb. What? Her window, I guess. Are we going window route? Trying to. Whatever works in the street that never. [00:53:12] Speaker D: Gets us out of here because we. [00:53:15] Speaker F: Can'T see, like, the route to the sewers. It sort of feels like that is the only sort of reasonable way to use ball dimension for. [00:53:24] Speaker D: Yeah, the best we could do at the moment within the room is probably lobbing it towards, like, the door. We're heading for, like, the opposite. Oh, and then just like, shortcutting to that. But, yeah, that wouldn't be as good as throwing it outside. [00:53:39] Speaker F: Is there a window in this room? [00:53:42] Speaker A: So fundamentally, this is like a large. You're in a large kind of gallery viewing hall. So you're probably, like, immediately above the entrance hall of the keep, like one floor up. So you. So, yeah, there's lots of, like, large. Well, there were stained glass windows. The glass appears to have either smashed or melted under the heat of the flames that are raging around you, which means that all that's left is sort of like the metal frames where the stained glass once was. So, yeah, this, like, you probably wouldn't want to throw it at range, but if you got up to one of the windows, you could do, like, throw it through. [00:54:23] Speaker F: Yeah, the gaps. Okay. If I look out the closest window, I'm looking either from. For a, like a reasonably, like, flat roof, like as. Like a closer target of another building, or, if it feels feasible, like, to get it down at street level, you know, like in the D and D movie spoilers, where they kind of come up after going horizontal. [00:54:48] Speaker A: So one of the windows you're looking out of, you notice that if you get it far enough, you can pretty much throw it into the sort like the stable area, like to the side of the keep, like. And even if you miss, it might land on the roof, but at least then you can hop down. [00:55:10] Speaker F: Okay, I'll give it a go. [00:55:13] Speaker A: Do it. [00:55:14] Speaker F: Do it, do it, do it. Is it in the tube? [00:55:20] Speaker A: If this is a hoof, this is a chuck. [00:55:23] Speaker D: It's a hoof. [00:55:25] Speaker A: I think you're gonna have to give it so much welly, I'm actually gonna ask for a wreck. [00:55:33] Speaker C: I can do it. Oh, you can do wreck, can't you? [00:55:35] Speaker F: I've got one wreck. I've only got some wreck. [00:55:40] Speaker E: Would you like an assistance? [00:55:42] Speaker F: If you feel like you can spare it? Yes. Maybe like, hold atta out the window by her angle. [00:55:50] Speaker A: I will offer a devil's bargain. [00:55:52] Speaker D: Uh oh. [00:55:53] Speaker F: Okay. [00:55:53] Speaker A: But no matter what happens, you will have company when you emerge. [00:55:59] Speaker D: Uh oh. [00:56:00] Speaker F: We don't know what kind of company. [00:56:02] Speaker D: Could be nice company. [00:56:04] Speaker F: Could be people with sandwiches. I feel like it's important to remove ourselves from this building. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I will. I will take a devil's bargain. Oh, what is it? To push yourself as well? It's two, right? Yeah, I'm gonna go for it. [00:56:26] Speaker D: You can manage if you feel like. [00:56:30] Speaker F: You can spare it. [00:56:31] Speaker A: Don't feel one stressor. Help. [00:56:34] Speaker E: Yeah, I can help. I can. I can give you a three. [00:56:37] Speaker D: Oh, this is. [00:56:38] Speaker A: You've got three upgrades. [00:56:41] Speaker C: Sodded. I'll join the upgrade crew. Have a, have one of my stress. I'll go down one stress as well. [00:56:50] Speaker A: So you're on four. So this is a again, this is desperate limited. [00:56:55] Speaker F: The stress is real desperate limited. So I want to try and increase the effect to if it's limited to standard. So that's one. Yeah, desperate does. [00:57:10] Speaker D: Desperate that you can't change that. [00:57:13] Speaker A: Can't change the desperate. [00:57:14] Speaker F: Okay. [00:57:15] Speaker D: And you get c for it if you haven't already marked XP in. [00:57:20] Speaker F: Rowers. Prowess. I guess if I try. So I could add two dice to the roll, and then I'd get three dice because I've got one rack, and then I could make it a great effect or I could add another dice. I don't know. I feel, I feel nervous. [00:57:38] Speaker D: I would add, I would maybe take the effect and the two dice if I were you. [00:57:44] Speaker A: Okay, so three dice, desperate, greater. [00:57:48] Speaker D: This sounds really good. [00:57:49] Speaker A: This is the greatest baseball pitch. [00:57:51] Speaker D: I have a great feeling about this. [00:57:54] Speaker F: I have a feeling. I don't know what it is. Yeah. [00:57:57] Speaker C: Resist. [00:57:59] Speaker D: Can you? [00:57:59] Speaker F: Okay. [00:58:00] Speaker D: None of us. [00:58:01] Speaker F: I've got one stress. I guess I can trauma I'm into. [00:58:04] Speaker D: No. [00:58:06] Speaker F: And I've got. If it's a prowess roll, what is it? [00:58:09] Speaker D: What does failure mean in this game? [00:58:12] Speaker F: I can add one d to a prowess roll by using my special army. I'll try and resist. [00:58:22] Speaker A: It is. It will be a prowess. Yeah, prowess resist. You do. The goblin ability is you can add one dice to prowess resistance rolls because you are rugged. [00:58:33] Speaker D: Okay. [00:58:37] Speaker A: But if you. Yeah. Oh, you have to roll five. [00:58:46] Speaker D: Six, actually. [00:58:47] Speaker A: So you have to roll six. [00:58:50] Speaker D: I feel like you don't have to resist this. We'll figure it out, but it's, it's. [00:58:56] Speaker F: Important that we leave this building and not, like, break our necks. [00:59:00] Speaker B: If you get trauma, we have to leave you. [00:59:02] Speaker D: Yeah, we're not leaving you behind. I think we'll figure something else out. I don't think you should traumatize. [00:59:13] Speaker A: Well, let me tell you what the outcome is. [00:59:17] Speaker F: Okay. [00:59:18] Speaker A: I'm going to say, well, if nothing else, the black guard is, is running. [00:59:33] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:59:33] Speaker A: Because you're on desperate. So he'll pick up three spots. [00:59:37] Speaker D: No. [00:59:39] Speaker A: So that's what I'm going to do. A double one here. So that's one. And also, the orb lands and doesn't immediately create the door. [00:59:54] Speaker D: Okay. [00:59:56] Speaker A: Sorry. It's a serious complication. The orb lands and it's a dude. So. So if you wanted to resist, then it might just take a while to calibrate before it opens. [01:00:10] Speaker C: Haven't you got a second one? We can throw a second one. [01:00:13] Speaker A: Well, the second one is the one you go step through. Right? [01:00:17] Speaker C: That's a good point. [01:00:20] Speaker A: So it's either a dud, which might just be delayed, or we leave. We leave it as the dice live. [01:00:33] Speaker F: Were you gonna say something, Julia? You like making mouth movements? [01:00:38] Speaker D: I'm just thinking what Magpie would be doing at this point with this black guard terminator running to this. I feel as if there's a nearby one of those dangerous looking torches. I would kind of want to pick it up and fling it at him. [01:00:54] Speaker A: Okay. [01:00:54] Speaker D: See if that slows him down. If I set him on fire. [01:01:00] Speaker A: I would argue if you're your throat, would that be finesse? [01:01:06] Speaker D: I want to finesse it. Yeah. I'm going to fling it with a lot of panache. [01:01:10] Speaker A: So desperate, limited. [01:01:13] Speaker D: Desperate, limited. Can I use my special armor, please, to make that standard? [01:01:19] Speaker A: Desperate standard? Yep. [01:01:20] Speaker D: Please. [01:01:21] Speaker A: Because you are infallible. [01:01:23] Speaker D: Yes. So it's a desperate standard. Yeah. And I. [01:01:31] Speaker A: Okay. [01:01:33] Speaker D: Four partial. [01:01:35] Speaker A: Okay. You heart, you. So you grab this torch and, like, your index finger and thumb, like, begin burning from this intense heat that's coming off the torch. Yep. And you throw it quickly enough. Torch arc. And the blackguard seemingly doesn't kind of see it coming. Like, doesn't really react to it. And it lands and it hits his cloak. And you watch as the rich red cloak that's billowing out from behind this black guard goes up. And the guard kind of stops for a few moments and, like, looks over their shoulder and then just starts kind of thrashing around and pauses a moment. And there's a tearing sound as his rope, as his cloak is torn from the shoulders and just thrown to the ground. And you watch as the fabric burns bright and quickly until the cloak is nothing but cinders. I'm gonna say that that's just a reduced effect. Black guard. Yeah. Stops to disrobe. [01:02:50] Speaker D: That's fine. [01:02:54] Speaker A: Who else is up? Katherine? Kevin hasn't done something for a while. [01:03:04] Speaker E: Obviously. Also, seeing that the orb has not worked, I guess we're gonna have to find another way out. Can I do well, can I do a quick survey and just see if there's anywhere else that we can escape. [01:03:31] Speaker A: Well, so you now know that, like, one of the stairwells down to the main hall is free. Like, there's a relatively straightforward things like that that will return you to the front door route. It's kind of difficult. Like, there. There will be other routes available, but there. There is a black guard between you and them. Right. [01:03:56] Speaker E: I'm guessing we're gonna have to charge for the front door then. [01:03:58] Speaker D: We might. We might just have to do that, I think. [01:04:00] Speaker A: Yeah, sure. So if you. Okay, so at your command, cavern, everyone kind of beelines towards the kind of the curve. The curling stairwell that leads down to the grand hall. And when you arrive, you can see that the group, like, the lower you go, the more fire there seems to be. The grand hall is in. Is a sea of flame. As you come down, you can see that the. The overly large painting of Algarve that's on the back wall is very quickly burning from the bottom up to the, like, quickly enough that you then watch as the frame that encases it begins to melt, kind of dripping molten gold down onto the floor underneath it. You notice that the wooden doors, like the wooden front gate doors, have all but charred and kind of fallen apart in lumps of kind of charcoal. And there's just a scene of this chaos. Guard are sort of like, running around. A lot of people are just evacuating from the keep. And in the midst of it all, slightly, like, cut off from the main entrance by a wall of flame is Algarve. What do you do? Oh, no, no. You know, that sort of, like, there's no clear and easy route to, like, a point of exit. So, yeah, you'll have to choose how you're getting. Getting everyone out carefully. Algernon's been quite quiet, as has the. The lady in purple, it would suggest. [01:06:04] Speaker B: Yeah, what's her deal? She just non flunked Lee sipping a cup of tea. [01:06:09] Speaker A: Well, so she's fallen behind you because, like, her hands are shackled, but she just seems irritatingly. But she's just politely smiling. Um, and like, she leans. Actually, she leans in between you, Cavern and Algernon. And she just very kind of inquisitively asks, what are you doing now then? [01:06:39] Speaker C: You don't want us to solve it on our own own just to spite her stupid face? [01:06:48] Speaker E: If you're so bloody smug, what do. [01:06:50] Speaker A: You suggest she does? That little kind of pout that she did Sir Algernon earlier and, oh, I couldn't possibly. Say, I'm just here to observe. [01:07:02] Speaker C: You'll be observing your own charred innards in a minute. [01:07:07] Speaker A: Um. She titters once again, I have the utmost faith in the five of you. [01:07:16] Speaker C: Back in. Great. [01:07:20] Speaker A: So, algen arm and cavern, what you thinking? [01:07:23] Speaker B: Um, I'm gonna get on. On the, um, gossipers earring. [01:07:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:07:28] Speaker B: To songbird and say, songbird, any progress on plan C? [01:07:37] Speaker A: Okay, is plan C a flashback? [01:07:44] Speaker B: It is. [01:07:45] Speaker A: What is plan C? [01:07:49] Speaker B: I haven't got that. [01:07:53] Speaker D: Mastermind. [01:07:56] Speaker A: That is fine. Um, like, over the roaring flame, like, as you shout this to songbird, um, you hear. Are you mad? With the keep in that state? [01:08:16] Speaker B: Think, oh, maybe we could, um. [01:08:20] Speaker A: Like. It sounds like she'll do it. You're surprised that you're asking? [01:08:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I think maybe there's some sort of desperate action with the il naishi, some sort of occult ritual or something that will. [01:08:36] Speaker A: Oh, I like, be very loud. I like that. Okay, so plan C. Are you. Are you instructing her to initiate plan C? And I will run the fortune roll. [01:08:56] Speaker B: Do you want. Do you want me to take some stress for flashing? [01:08:59] Speaker A: Yeah, just one. Just keep on your toes. [01:09:02] Speaker B: Oh, thank you. [01:09:05] Speaker A: Right, so, um, songbird, right, hold on. Yo, yo. [01:09:11] Speaker D: Now. [01:09:11] Speaker A: She shouts. [01:09:15] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [01:09:16] Speaker D: No. What are these roles? [01:09:21] Speaker A: You see, like, the flame that the. Effectively, the ground, the floor is lava. You see, you feel a magical burst from the courtyard that roars in through the front gates, seemingly. And you see this kind of magical. Effectively, it's a magical pulse that is pushing the flame aside to create a safe passage. It works from moment, but it simply pushes the flames further aside to kind of shield you. It's a kind of block you off a bit more. You like, as. As the bridge of safe passage is created, you see a number of, like, illness ii run in and begin dueling with the guards. You, at least you. You have an exit. Like, the onatia are using their magic to keep it pushed away. But you notice the bit between the flames, between the chaos and between the guard. Their numbers are getting dwindled off quite quickly. Also, there's a stomping from behind you. So at the very least, you now have a dedicated. Like, if you were to take the route out the front door, the unicy at least have opened that up a little, little bit. [01:11:00] Speaker C: Just run for it. [01:11:02] Speaker E: Let's just run through it. [01:11:04] Speaker D: Just gonna run. Every man for himself. Not a group role. Just run. [01:11:13] Speaker A: I'm gonna ask what. You tell me how you're picking your way through this, like, pit of flame and combat. And carnage. [01:11:26] Speaker C: And Frieda go up first and is just essentially trying to wreck her way through it. Just pushing people aside, grabbing, like, you know, grabbing, like, burning beams and shoving them out of the way. Just, you know, really trying to, like. What's the word? Like, you know, the path is already clear. But. But Frieda's snow plowing. [01:11:54] Speaker D: Yes. I love it. [01:11:56] Speaker C: And also, on top of that, could I. As I'm about to do this, could I swig my rage essence vial, please? [01:12:08] Speaker A: Yeah. So that is a single dose, which greatly enhances the user strength, resistance to pain, and irrational aggression. [01:12:17] Speaker C: Several minutes, and she just yells, bottoms up. [01:12:22] Speaker A: You know what? Freedom. You do your role first as you chug this vial. And I'm gonna say, the vial will. The vial will give you plus one effect. [01:12:40] Speaker C: Okay, so is that, like, desperate standard? Desperate standard. [01:12:47] Speaker A: And it. Depending on how well you do, you might, in fact, just clear a path for the rest, for everyone else to follow behind. Okay, so I'm gonna say you have reduced effect, unless you wish to resist it. [01:13:06] Speaker C: Oh, gosh, no, I can't. I. Resist is too stress, isn't it? [01:13:11] Speaker D: That's too. Nah, you can't. [01:13:12] Speaker A: Yeah, no, resist is you roll the. [01:13:14] Speaker E: Dice, and the dice decides for you. [01:13:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:13:18] Speaker A: So you'd be rolling two dice, and you'd be hoping for a six. Anything less than six is a trauma. [01:13:24] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [01:13:24] Speaker C: What's the reduced. What? What's the reduced effect? [01:13:28] Speaker A: Is one segment instead of two. [01:13:30] Speaker C: Okay, all right, well, that's. That's close enough. As long as I path for people. [01:13:36] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, Frieda, as you swig this, like, berserker potion, like, I can only imagine that you grow ever so slightly, like, your muscles bulge a bit more, the armor creaks from the inside, and the other four of you and the lady in purple watch as this black armored wolfkin woman goes charging into the, like, into the flames, and just starts flailing and wailing. And you see people like Wilhelm scream, and, like, a large wooden beam falls down, lands on the stairwell in front of you. And you watch as Freeda grabs this burning hunk of wooden, like, hurls it down into the, like, into the keep proper. Like, the entrance hall proper. [01:14:28] Speaker D: Incredible. [01:14:31] Speaker A: And you are tantalizingly close to escape. Who's up next? [01:14:44] Speaker D: I think Magpie wants to move very swiftly and gracefully, avoiding dodging as she goes. And if possible, as she goes past Algarve, she wants to just take the tip of his moustache off with her rapier. So it's finesse. [01:15:00] Speaker A: Sure. Okay. Roll me in. Finesse. [01:15:04] Speaker D: I've already used my special armor, haven't I? [01:15:07] Speaker F: Yeah. [01:15:09] Speaker D: So what is it? Is it. [01:15:11] Speaker A: It's a desperate, limited. [01:15:12] Speaker D: Is it? I cannot afford to push myself right now. Any double spargo? [01:15:23] Speaker E: You want me to help you? I mean, I've got one stress left. [01:15:26] Speaker C: No, no, no. [01:15:27] Speaker D: I'd rather help you if we're going to do that. Okay, I could, because I've given you some training in this, so I could sort of say, I mean, just like we practiced. Cavern. [01:15:36] Speaker A: Well, bear in mind, one more stress for Asa cavern or Frieda will result in trauma. Algernon and magpie are the only ones with spare stress. [01:15:50] Speaker B: I can also assist for free via foresight for a couple. A couple more times. [01:15:55] Speaker D: Okay. [01:15:57] Speaker B: If you need an extra die. [01:16:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:16:03] Speaker D: Yeah. I would rather nobody try to assist me right now in the traditional way, because that would result in trouble if. [01:16:11] Speaker A: Algernon does another line. [01:16:13] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [01:16:14] Speaker A: An emergency huff. [01:16:16] Speaker D: What does that give me? Is that ad with plus one or. [01:16:20] Speaker B: Same as assisting. [01:16:22] Speaker A: Plus one dice or plus one effect? [01:16:24] Speaker D: Okay, so what did you say? It was? Desperate. [01:16:26] Speaker A: Desperate, limited. [01:16:27] Speaker D: Right. Okay. Um, so if this partially successes, then it might not have any effect, is what you're saying? [01:16:36] Speaker A: Currently, yeah. [01:16:37] Speaker D: Ooh, I don't like that. I I literally can't afford to push myself without getting right now. [01:16:45] Speaker F: So. [01:16:48] Speaker D: Painless. [01:16:49] Speaker F: Just do it. [01:16:50] Speaker D: That's a four. [01:16:52] Speaker C: Okay, where are all the sixes at? [01:16:55] Speaker D: I know, right? There are none. This session. Songbird spent them. [01:16:59] Speaker E: Yeah, songbird spent them all. [01:17:02] Speaker A: Okay, you. You spy, like, a route through the flame to the il Naishi's kind of protected area that is getting smaller and smaller with each illness that falls to the city. Watch. [01:17:26] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:17:27] Speaker A: And you're able to point it out, and you watch as one like you. It takes some intense coercing on Frieda's part to kind of point her in the right direction, because Frieda's just kind of red. Missed it. Like, red raging at the moment. And it was probably Frieda, in fact, that you direct first to clear the route, but it will not have a reduced effect. [01:18:04] Speaker D: Oh, the black guards here. Great. [01:18:12] Speaker A: Black guard. [01:18:13] Speaker D: He's our complication. Yeah, sure. [01:18:16] Speaker A: You make it to the front door, all of you. [01:18:20] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [01:18:22] Speaker A: You make it to the kind of safety funnel, but as you like, Magpie, as you like, you're kind of directing as you go to go yourself. You feel yourself, like, wrenched back. [01:18:37] Speaker F: Mm hmm. [01:18:38] Speaker A: As a blackguard grabs your cloak, grabs at your collar and wrenches you backwards, and you feel your feet come off the ground. [01:18:51] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [01:18:54] Speaker A: As everyone escapes the keep. And then you hear, put her down, you fool. Save me. And you feel a shift in the weight of the blackguard as the black guard turns and notices Algarve stood in the middle of this kind of blazing hall. And like the blackguard, tosses you in such a way that you managed to roll down and taking the opportunity, you managed to scamper to safety as well as this black guard kind of leaps down off the, like, halfway down the stairwell, cracks the stonework under its weight, and begins moving towards Algarve. And as the five of you like, the. The slightly more the cooler air, night air hits your face as you kind of emerge out of the front of the keep, which is now just this roaring inferno. And, Algernon, as you look up, it mimics the flames from your. Your foresight vision. You watch as this hulking, black armored figure stood, stomps towards Algarve before a piece of the ceiling breaks away and crushes blackguard before it reaches Algarve. As you turn and sort of like, as you're scampering away, you see songbird ahead of you and, like, there's a couple of kind of cloaked and hooded figures surrounding her. You see, like, some cobbler running around. You see musto just kind of bent over, just breathing heavily because it's clearly he's been running. But you see songbird like Bethany over. Come on, let's go. Let's go. She shouts to you. And as you all turn to leave, you see one figure emerge from the keep as well, like again and encased in flame. But as Algarve throws off the heavy furred cloak that he was wearing, he kind of stops and looks up and spies the five of you and songbird. And he, you. He shouts and points a finger at you before fumbling for the firearm, like the pistol on his belt, as songbird. So, like, like, obviously, this is his secretary, a songbird kind of ushers you away, who's looking at Algarve in these final moments. So, Algernon, you're. Because you're slightly behind as you're struggling to keep up with. With your leg as it is. But from the flame behind Algarve, as of this burning keep, a figure emerges from the fire, and you notice two bright orange lenses. And the figure grabs Algarve on the shoulder and spins him round and then grabs the marshal by the throat. And you watch as this cloaked, masked figure lifts Algarve off the ground and then begins stepping backwards into the flame. And you hear, get off me. Get your hands off me. And you see, like, Algarve finally unsheathes his pistol and, like, goes to shoot, but the figure smacks his hand out the way as the shot fires and the bullet ricochets off the keep wall. Get off me. What are you doing? And Algarve's panicked cries become screams of pain as the flames begin to lick at his feet. And you watch as the marshal's clothes begin to ignite, as this hooded figure drags him back into the inferno. And Algarve's cries are drowned out by the sound of breaking masonry as the keep begins to collapse in on itself. And Algernon, as you stand there taking this all in, you notice that to your right is songbird, and she looks as white as a ghost as you pick up and make your way away from the keep, and you can see that the keep, the silhouette of the keep, is just reducing as the fire consumes it. There is a burst of green energy from the park. And you watch as these. This veritable forest of tree trunk thick vines explode out of the ground and reach up towards the keep. It begins entwining through the broken masonry, wrapping around the towers, arcing in through now open windows until it kind of encases in. Envelops the keep. But even as you watch the. These thick vines begin charring themselves to the so quickly that they go through black through to age like a used charcoal white. But the vines seem to be smothering the flames themselves. And before long, the flames of the keep appear to have died out. And in the purple hues of the maelstrom around you that rain down from outside the veil, the vines appear to appear like a skeletal hand that is holding on to what is left of the keep with the arm seemingly emerging from Unity park. And as you all look at each other in bewilderment at this series of events that have happened in very short order, as you look up to the impressed face of the lady in purple. We'll call it that. Wow. Oh, then we still alive? [01:25:44] Speaker D: We're alive. [01:25:49] Speaker A: Congratulations, everyone. Completing episode seven. [01:25:56] Speaker E: She can bug her right off. [01:25:58] Speaker C: She can. [01:25:59] Speaker D: She has no help. [01:26:03] Speaker A: So I'm not gonna do it all. Actually, that's enough for tonight. [01:26:13] Speaker D: We can only take so much. [01:26:17] Speaker A: So congratulations on completing episode seven. [01:26:23] Speaker F: You did it. Is the elsewhere what asthma is doing? Just down in the sewers, like, waiting for us? [01:26:29] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, elsewhere. She's just. She's just wondering what. What on earth is going upstairs? Um, making an awful lot. So yes, you have made it. And, uh, I think it goes without saying that you have emerged into an alicia that is somewhat changed again. Or everything that has just happened. Yeah. Thank you, everyone, for playing. Thank you, everyone, for watching. If you like that, make sure to hit the like button and comment down below on. [01:27:16] Speaker D: How that could have gone better. [01:27:19] Speaker A: Yeah. How could it go worse? Put in the. This will be a morbid comment section. Put how many people you think perished in the flames. [01:27:31] Speaker D: Kill count. [01:27:32] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
