Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello?
No, that was far too loud.
Hello, and welcome to explorers of elsewhere's Alicia rising blaze in the dark campaign. Hi, I am DM Dan, and I am joined with four of the finest criminals that Alicia has ever seen. Hello, gang. How are Chris, how are you doing?
[00:00:24] Speaker B: Hello.
[00:00:26] Speaker C: I'm catching up on my note taking. Don't mind me.
[00:00:29] Speaker A: Yes, there are many notes to be taken because a lot happened in episode seven, didn't it? There was a. There was a lot of moving, there was a lot of shaking. There was a smidge of arson.
Just a smidge.
Yeah.
We find you in the aftermath of a very, very raucous night of rioting. And Marshall, killing Alicia is now a change city.
And to say that you have some heat on you is a bit of. A.
Bit of an understatement.
Yeah. Arguably, the city is now your oysters.
Is your oyster. So, shall we jump in? See. See how the rubble has landed?
[00:01:31] Speaker D: Different.
[00:01:37] Speaker C: Welcome to Elysia, the jewel of the north. On our gilded streets, fortune and fame can be found by anyone.
Hi, I'm Julia, and I'm playing Magpie, an ace of our lurk.
[00:01:53] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Nate, and I'm playing cavern, a dragon scent slide.
[00:01:59] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Meg. I'm playing Frieda, a wolfkin cutter.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: Hi, I'm JC, and I'll be playing Algon, an ace of our spider.
[00:02:09] Speaker E: Hello, I'm Erol. I am playing Atta, a goblin whisper.
[00:02:14] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan. I will be the games master on this adventure.
[00:02:19] Speaker C: So come on in and marvel at our wonders. Make sure you see the beautiful views we have to offer. And don't mind the ghosts. They're friendly, really. Grab yourselves a seat and make yourselves welcome in the city of Elysia.
[00:02:41] Speaker A: The ruby keep has fallen.
Marshal Algarve is dead.
This is the shocking news that greeted the Elysians, who were not awoken by a night of protest, rioting and arson.
Those who did not believe the news at first were convinced upon seeing the impossibly large charred vines which now wrap around the formidable burnt out bastion like a grasping, skeletal hand.
Whilst this unexpected phenomena undoubtedly saved the lives of many Elysians, answers are being demanded by many more.
Word of the dangerous group known as the kindling spreads from one person to the next like wildfire, creating explosive division on whether they are villains to be reviled, or perhaps unsung heroes.
What is undeniable is that the balance of power within Elysia has been utterly shattered. And there are many individuals who seek to fill the void left by our late marshal.
And so it has been one week since the events of the destruction of the ruby keep.
And whilst the city was shocked and stunned into a period of inactivity, in the immediate aftermath, Elysia has found itself irrevocably changed by the events of that night.
Given the events, we have quite a lot of stuff to kind of look through that's happened over the past week. So I'm going to start things off by looking at the XP that you gained from. From that score.
Let us start with. Let's work backwards. So, starting with Julia.
Magpie.
[00:04:57] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:04:58] Speaker A: Hello.
How. How do you think Magpie has done?
[00:05:03] Speaker C: Oh, okay. So I had a few desperate prowess roles. Which counts as one, doesn't it?
[00:05:13] Speaker A: Yep. Many, many desperate roles.
[00:05:15] Speaker C: Many, many desperate roles. It was a desperate situation.
And aside from that, I mean, I tried to do the sneaky sneak by leading a group prowl check, but then that just immediately failed. And I feel as if we just sort of developed. Evolved into running headlong through the. Keep going. Ah. As we were set by flames and blackguard. So I don't know. I don't know how Magpie did in terms of doing the sneaky sneaks.
[00:05:44] Speaker A: I mean, it's the thought that counts, right? Like, you attempted.
[00:05:48] Speaker C: It was the effort.
[00:05:51] Speaker A: You tried.
A for effort. E for it. Wait, a for effort. E for achievement.
[00:05:59] Speaker C: E for execution.
[00:06:01] Speaker A: That's it. That's the one.
So, well, based off your, like, how much. How much xp do you think you earn off your. Look, luckiness, probably one, realistically.
And then off of your, like, background history.
[00:06:21] Speaker C: I honestly don't know that there was a lot of opportunity for Magpie to. I mean, we were very much on a task, weren't we, last session? Like. Yeah, so I. I don't know, really. I know that's not very helpful, but I can't really think of anything specific that she did that was to do with her background.
[00:06:43] Speaker A: Well, sorry, just while I'm thinking through that mission, going back to the. The lurkiness, your and Atta's approach to the job was through stealth. Like, you snuck in by the kitchens as pretending to be staff.
[00:06:57] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:06:58] Speaker A: So I reckon, Chuck, two in two for stealthiness.
[00:07:02] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:07:03] Speaker A: Two for the luck.
[00:07:04] Speaker C: Thank you.
[00:07:08] Speaker A: Okay, so, yeah, if you don't feel you did anything on your.
[00:07:13] Speaker C: I just don't think there was a lot of opportunity to. Which is. Is fine, you know?
[00:07:17] Speaker A: So, final. Final scores.
[00:07:20] Speaker C: Two plus two plus one for the desperate. Yeah.
[00:07:23] Speaker A: Okay, cool.
I've gone on.
JC. What. What are you thinking?
[00:07:33] Speaker B: So I'm thinking calculation and conspiracy, perhaps two. I was relying on my sort of conspiracy, conspiracy with Swan Bird and the Il Naishi to sort of orchestrate this whole thing together. And I also positioned myself as, like, the prisoner at the center of this sort of light to get us into the tower.
[00:08:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay. Yeah, that sounds good. So two for that year.
And what else are you thinking?
[00:08:11] Speaker B: I think probably one for each of the others. My belief strives and heritage. I went back to the intelligence corps, had a chat with my old colleague there.
[00:08:25] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:08:26] Speaker B: And also I relied quite heavily on Algernon's vice, which is taking that little bump of foresight when he doesn't know what to do.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. That very much happened. Okay, so another two. So four, plus your desperate.
[00:08:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I marked my desperate last time. It was a resolve for something. I don't. Yeah.
[00:08:47] Speaker A: Okay. Very, very good. So five, including that desperate role. Wonderful.
Nate. Katherine. How did Katherine do?
[00:08:56] Speaker D: I. I think I got a three in total.
[00:08:59] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:09:00] Speaker D: I didn't roll any desperate rolls. I didn't roll really anything because I was. Everything would have just been no effect pretty much, if I rolled anything because I still got my bruised ribs.
But I did tune into my dragon scentyness of using my emergent divinity.
And when we were. When we were trying to get information for our score, I guess I sort of leaned a little bit into my vice by going in, going to Amber, and asking for some guard outfits that they may very well have in their establishment.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:09:45] Speaker D: And also, I guess I challenged with a little bit of influence by drugging one of the guards, by blowing some sort of trance drugs into their face.
[00:09:58] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, yeah, I'll go with that. So how about. How much total?
[00:10:02] Speaker D: Three in total.
[00:10:03] Speaker A: Three in total. Okay. Plus your desperate.
[00:10:06] Speaker D: I didn't do any desperate. I didn't do any rose.
[00:10:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Cool. Go, go. Okay. And lastly, Atta.
[00:10:15] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh. And my memory, if my memory serves me right, I've written down desperate once in my notes, and I think that was to do with the magic portable.
[00:10:28] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:10:29] Speaker E: If I remember correctly.
[00:10:31] Speaker A: Yeah. When you were, like, hoiking out a window, I think.
[00:10:35] Speaker E: Yeah, I don't think I did any desperate roles other than that.
[00:10:38] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:10:41] Speaker E: And I really. I think I can't. I can't actually remember what Atta did in information gathering.
[00:10:48] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:10:49] Speaker E: I tried to talk to the wizard and failed.
And I did some wrecking and rigging of various, like, traps, but I didn't. The only thing that I sort of addressed with, I guess, knowledge or arcane power is. Is like trying to get us out via magic and failing.
So I think generously, I think it would probably be a three. Unless anybody else can remember anything more detailed than I can off the top of their heads, background wise, I don't think I did anything.
[00:11:37] Speaker C: Did you not connect with Granny? Yeah, Granny as one of our possible escape routes. She was waiting with her boat.
[00:11:45] Speaker E: Yeah. And she talked about rats. Juicy rats. Yeah, we kind of.
[00:11:50] Speaker C: She did lots of methods with rats.
[00:11:53] Speaker E: Yeah, I suppose. Yeah. That would. That would kind of maybe make you stronger. Three.
[00:11:58] Speaker C: I see you using your background.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
So it's sounding like four.
[00:12:04] Speaker E: Four. I'm happy with four pips for sure.
[00:12:09] Speaker A: Marvelous.
Yes. So that's all the players going through their XP. The crew obviously gained some XP as well as a whole. So let's have a little look through your crew specific XP trigger. Execute a smuggling operation or acquire new clients or contraband sources.
I mean, you definitely did a smuggle. It was a smuggle of a person. And that went. It was more of an escort. But, yeah, that definitely, definitely happened. I mean, the whole job was it. So I'm going to say two for that.
Contend with challenges above your current station.
You definitely engage with gangs of higher tier than you being the black guard. So one for that, did you bolster your crew's reputation or develop a new one?
We've decided to switch you to daring.
And that job was certainly daring if nothing else. So we're gonna mark you up for that.
And did you express the goals, drives, inner conflicts or essential nature of your crew?
Did anything happen that highlighted specific elements that make your crew unique?
[00:13:30] Speaker C: I mean, it all went disastrously wrong in hilarious ways. So that's us to a t, right?
[00:13:38] Speaker A: Maybe that's the crew name, the disaster merchants, I think. Well, I mean, the whole initially, the, you know, the whole kind of angle you were given by Songbird was that this person was the person you were rescuing was integral to, like the Sangrevar that been locked up. And that's quite close to Algernon and Magpies hearts. So, yeah, I would say that there was some buy in. So you know what? It was the end of act one. Let's go for another one there. So that leaves you on seven XP. So only three more until your next crew level.
So yes, off the back of. So actually the crew leveled up at the off the back of episode six. We just haven't really had a chance to look into that.
But as you filled up, you get two new upgrades or a new ability. We discussed it off camera and we are going for. And I think it's quite apt, given everything that's just happened, the renegades ability.
So each of the crew members can add plus one, like dice to prowl, skirmish, or finesse.
So we will.
[00:15:07] Speaker C: Should we do that now?
[00:15:09] Speaker A: Add that in. Yep. So amazing. Again, we'll quickly go through. So, Atta, which of your.
Which of the three abilities are you choosing? Finesse, prowl, or skirmish?
[00:15:22] Speaker E: I think since I've already got reckon other people might be skirmishing, I think I'm either gonna do finesse or prowl because I'm not very sneaky.
[00:15:30] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:15:32] Speaker E: I'm just gonna look up both of them real quick and double check what they do, but it'll be one of them too.
[00:15:37] Speaker A: Sure. Are you? Finesse is like the manual dexterity kind of choice, and prowl is the sneaky sneak.
[00:15:51] Speaker E: Come back to me.
[00:15:52] Speaker A: Yeah, okay. No worries.
What's Kevin going for?
[00:15:56] Speaker D: He's gonna go for skirmish.
[00:15:59] Speaker A: Wonderful. Wonderful.
Algernon.
[00:16:03] Speaker B: Skirmish as well.
[00:16:05] Speaker A: Skirmish as well.
[00:16:07] Speaker B: I want to put him in the thick of it a bit more.
[00:16:11] Speaker C: Swing his cane around.
[00:16:14] Speaker A: What's magpie going for?
[00:16:16] Speaker C: I think I'm gonna go skirmish, given we've just been in a big street brawl.
[00:16:20] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And a keep brawl as well.
[00:16:24] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:16:24] Speaker A: Arguably.
We'll figure out what Frieda's doing, and we'll come back and update.
Have we figured out what Atta's going for?
[00:16:37] Speaker E: You all went so quickly.
[00:16:39] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
[00:16:43] Speaker E: Absolutely.
[00:16:44] Speaker C: We just know what the prowess skills do.
[00:16:47] Speaker E: I kind of. I kind of want to do a little bit of.
Oh, prowl. I think it's gonna be prowl.
[00:16:55] Speaker C: I think that's a good choice for messing up.
[00:16:58] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, okay. Thank you. Yeah.
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:01] Speaker E: I still need to spend my xp as well. Geez.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: Yes. So some. Some of you have got completed XP bars. I say some of you. Is it just atta? It is just at.
[00:17:13] Speaker E: Yeah, I've got a completed insight, so I haven't spent anything yet. So I get to put that in one of the insight skills, right?
[00:17:20] Speaker A: Study, survey or tinker.
[00:17:21] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm gonna do hunt. He's got hunt, so I'm gonna do it.
[00:17:25] Speaker C: Oh, by the way, I I did fill my insight bar, so I've taken another in tinker.
[00:17:31] Speaker A: Oh, marvelous. Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. Yeah.
Cool. So the. The crew is upgraded. You have upgraded. Additionally, finally, you have also. You also accrued enough rep to extend spanned the tier of your. Of the crew of the gang. So you are now a tier one gang with a week hold that involves a. An expansion of sorts. So, again, we've discussed this off camera, and we do have a little idea which area we've expanded into over the past week, haven't we? Who's. Who masterminded that little growth spurt?
[00:18:17] Speaker B: I think Algernon would have liked to get in touch with Lady Noel of the il Naishi and sort of thank her for her faction support in that job on in the keep.
Yeah.
And sort of using that burgeoning relationship with them, we've sort of established a more of a base in celestry, which is the sort of red light vice district.
[00:18:44] Speaker A: Yes, yes. Of all the districts in Alicia where arcane contraband would flow more freely, Celestia is certainly it. So I imagine cavern as acting as a sort of a negotiator as well. Just an ambassador, as you say. An ambassador, if you will. Yes, yes. So Lady Knoll of the sheet, you know that there is like. She has a number of.
But she owns a number of vice dens within celestry.
And so your expansion into celestry are you. Do you imagine yourself kind of working out of one of the, like, existing establishments or sort of having your own setup that just has kind of an Il naishy security detail?
[00:19:45] Speaker B: Yeah, I suppose it would be like a second branch in the back room of one of their vistaens where we know we can. We can go and sort of, um, maintain our operations from.
[00:20:01] Speaker A: Okay, so, yes, you're up now. You're operating out of the spectre and out of this Ilneci establishment in celestry.
Just sort of like new. New kind of contraband smuggling routes, expanding to, you know, two different halves of the city. Wonderful, wonderful.
So that we are translating that as turf. You are unlocking a new turf piece.
So that is that. Additionally, we need to look at the rep that you earned from the keep job.
So you earn three base to take you up to seven.
You were going up against the watch and the black guard. Now the watch are tier three. Three black gala, tier six. So there's a part of me that feels like we're gonna have to say, I'll meet you in them.
So you get plus one rep per tier higher. So I'm gonna say that evil evens out. Sort of like tier four.
So that is now three tiers higher than you. So you get three more rep. So you're already on 134-5678 910 of eleven rep. So just off the back of that one job, you're almost nearly ready to have an explosion of business propositions.
[00:21:27] Speaker B: Does that include our. Our leverage. Which gets us an extra one.
[00:21:37] Speaker A: So, coin.
The crew earns coin based on the nature of the operation and or any loot they seized. So, as part of kind of upgrading your crew to tier one, you had to pay, like, a sizable amount of coin in order for that to happen.
So I believe it was something like eight gold. Eight coin.
I.
Hmm.
It was a big score that you just pulled off, wasn't it?
Arguably twelve gold. Arguably a major score.
I'm going to say.
I'm going to say you just earned, hmm, ten coin back of that last job.
It was a major score. Impressive loop. Major score. Specifically. However, unlike the cobbles in dusk, your new like turf in celestry, the Onishi are significantly more shrewd and financially responsible than most, though. And his gang. No need to subtract coin equal to your crew tier plus one. So the ornation take two coin for their troubles.
Leave you on eight.
[00:23:15] Speaker C: They did save our asses. To be fair, I don't think we can begrudge them to coin.
[00:23:22] Speaker A: Yes.
So just to just bear in mind, whilst you. Your.
Yeah. If you choose to pay the Onishi rent for all extents and purposes, it will cost two gold per score. Like two coin per. Per school.
You can choose not to pay them, but then they'll eventually get a bit grumpy.
Okay, cool. So eight, I imagine. Should we put one in each of your pocket, one coin in each of your pockets, and three in the gang stash?
[00:23:59] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:24:01] Speaker A: Cool. I'll add one in for freedom. Cool.
So that is the rep sorted.
So, heat and incarceration.
[00:24:22] Speaker D: What?
[00:24:24] Speaker C: What?
Please, no.
No incarceration today, thank you.
[00:24:33] Speaker A: You're currently on five of nine heat.
[00:24:37] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:24:41] Speaker A: I can't argue for anything less than loud and chaotic high exposure.
[00:24:51] Speaker C: We're not the people who set the fire.
We didn't start the fire.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: That is four heat.
[00:25:02] Speaker C: No. No, it's not.
[00:25:05] Speaker A: Add plus one heat for a high profile or well connected tire.
[00:25:10] Speaker C: It's not that they're not that well connected. They're nothing now, are they? The black guard burned them down. Not us.
[00:25:19] Speaker A: This.
[00:25:19] Speaker E: Oh, we've got a black guard disguise as well, don't we? To mess about.
[00:25:24] Speaker C: Yeah, that's fun.
[00:25:26] Speaker A: That ticks you up to wanted level one.
Oh, it's adds two heat. So add one heat if you're at war with another faction, which you're not. Add to heat. If killing was involved, whether or not the kit, the crew did the killing or not, the keep came down. There were lots of. Lots of casualties.
[00:25:51] Speaker C: That just seems unfair. I'm just saying.
[00:25:55] Speaker A: Um, so you are. You get. You start the week of downtime.
Wanted. Level one to heat.
Okay. So then the next step is entanglement.
[00:26:24] Speaker C: Intriguing.
[00:26:28] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:26:31] Speaker C: Someone just randomly dies.
That's not a good face, Dan.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. I think I'm with Nate.
[00:26:45] Speaker C: It should be ice cream.
We need ice cream. We're so stressed.
[00:26:50] Speaker A: Sure.
That is the entanglement.
Cool.
Let us begin with the downtime. Enough of this.
Horse. Horsery.
Who's. Who's the highest stress?
Let's start with. Start with Atta.
You are, what? Eight of nine?
Yeah, eight of nine. Stressed.
So you. You all are conscious that you have to really kind of lay low for a while because you, like, you've started seeing, like, in the aftermath of the keep, you know, being destroyed, the watch have fundamentally kind of fragmented into roving bands with no kind of central leadership figure to control them. Like, a number of, like, new leadership candidates have popped up. So, you know, these are self serving, self serving kind of officers or sergeants that believe that they know what's best for the watch in general.
But fundamentally, yeah. A citywide gang has now fractured into a number of independent gangs.
That said, you have all noticed that there are a number of, like, wanted posters that have been going up around the city, and on too many of them for comfort. You can see sketches that look possibly like yourselves, but it's. It's currently a bit difficult because. Because the guard, the watch, the city watch, is no longer centralized.
Like, instructions on who to report sightings of wanted peoples is. Gets a bit lost in translation kind of thing. Just gets a bit confusing. But you definitely know, in the aftermath, lying low is for the best.
So with that in mind, Atta, what is your first downtime activity?
[00:29:08] Speaker E: I'm just gonna walk into the center of town.
No, next to a wanted poster.
[00:29:17] Speaker C: Oh, it looks like me.
[00:29:20] Speaker E: Just start collecting them, autographing them.
Geez.
Question, Dan. If we reduce our heat, do we reduce one level? Whereas wanted level? That's just it. We're just.
[00:29:36] Speaker A: So the only way to prison. Yeah. The only way that a wanted level can be reduced now is if they put someone away for it or you, like, pay an upsetting amount of money.
[00:29:53] Speaker C: Oh, we just made some money.
[00:29:57] Speaker E: We haven't made an upsetting amount of money. I don't think tank, though.
[00:30:03] Speaker C: You gotta make heat to make money, and then you gotta make money to reduce heat. That's how it works, baby.
[00:30:11] Speaker E: Baby. Now we're like, got cigars and stuff.
Let's reduce some stress. I think we're gonna try and reduce some stress. I think.
[00:30:26] Speaker A: In actual fact, yeah. The only way to reduce your crap crews wanted level is through incarceration.
When one of your crew members, friends, contacts, or a framed enemy is convicted and incarcerated for crimes associated with your crew, the wanted for level is reduced by one and you clear your heat.
[00:30:44] Speaker D: Let's put Caleb away.
[00:30:46] Speaker E: Oh, we could put Caleb away for our crowd. Those are the people we can put away as well.
Who did we? Oh, because we said that the ghost lightning hook was found in the cachet that the children of ire think were the chain bearers.
[00:31:09] Speaker C: God, can you imagine if we put a sprite crime brush guy, the chain bearer guy in prison? He would not be happy with us, would he?
[00:31:21] Speaker E: I thought he was cool at first, and then when Algie had a chat with him, I mean, he was, well, rude.
[00:31:27] Speaker C: I mean, he's cool. He's as cool as a mega rich psychopath can be, isn't he?
[00:31:33] Speaker E: True.
So reducing stress, that's rolling some. Some dice in it.
[00:31:41] Speaker A: Yes. So if you're indulging in your vice, it'll be off the back of your resolve. So a one dice joby. Um, yeah. What.
What does this look like? How. How are you like, how are you discreetly indulging your voice?
[00:32:00] Speaker E: Discreetly? Um, I think maybe instead, because usually at a, um.
Kind of just is at the hideout when she's indulging her vice, she kind of will rarely go slightly closer to bubble to indulge vice, and that's not a good idea at the moment. And I think.
I think maybe after this very stressful.
After this very stressful job, I think she needs a little bit more comfort. I think she maybe goes.
I think she's going to take.
She's going to take the wizard orb and she's going to go via sewers to go see Asma. Okay.
Through as safe a route as possible, and kind of spend time with Asma, kind of talking about the uki spooky. And kind of maybe trying to make more of a connection with wizard orb.
[00:33:07] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[00:33:08] Speaker E: Have a little bit of rats.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: Do rattan tea.
Okay. Yeah. Roll me your one.
Indulge rice dice.
[00:33:18] Speaker E: Okay, cool.
I'm on a good number. It's not a good number. It's an okay number.
[00:33:24] Speaker A: So that is too stress reduced.
So, yeah, talking, like, taking the wizard orb down with asthma.
You like. The orb is quite, quite pleasantly conversational between the two of you.
Like, clearly, the. The conscious thoughts contained within this. This orb are quite bored and are really appreciating kind of contact with other sentient beings.
Um, yeah. The two of you, the three of you have a. Have a good old chin wag.
[00:34:07] Speaker E: At a spoons like rats you up to the wizard orb, even though there's not.
[00:34:12] Speaker A: A mouth dribbling over the top of it. So just.
[00:34:15] Speaker D: And you put a little hat on him.
[00:34:19] Speaker E: He's probably drawn like a face on the. Or, if. I wouldn't be surprised.
[00:34:23] Speaker C: How did. How did Granny asthma react when you turned up with a wizard in an orb? Just like, hello, Granny, I've got a.
[00:34:30] Speaker E: New friend, pretty much.
[00:34:32] Speaker A: That's.
[00:34:33] Speaker E: That's probably what Atta said. Got a new friend in the orb.
[00:34:37] Speaker A: I can imagine.
[00:34:38] Speaker C: You have a friend in orb.
[00:34:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I can imagine. Granny asthma is just a bit.
Not nonplussed. It's not unfazed, just.
Okay, okay. Very, very good. What's your second downtime?
[00:35:01] Speaker E: I feel like I will try again to reduce stress.
It's a good thing to do because I've got. I've got six. Even if I roll the max, which is six, it would be down to zero. So I can't over indulge, which is good.
[00:35:14] Speaker C: That's good.
[00:35:15] Speaker E: I think when Asma says, do you want another cup of tea? And another deserving of ratsu Ata just stays the night.
[00:35:23] Speaker C: Aw, that's nice, isn't it?
[00:35:29] Speaker B: It was so hard.
[00:35:31] Speaker C: I'm so tired down to one. That's why we like it.
[00:35:40] Speaker A: The night treats you well.
[00:35:42] Speaker C: That's why we like it.
[00:35:43] Speaker D: All you need is a night with Nana.
[00:35:47] Speaker A: Marvelous. Okay, so that is your.
That is your too. Okay.
[00:35:53] Speaker C: Fried with bacon.
[00:35:55] Speaker A: Next up, Kevin.
[00:35:56] Speaker D: Hello.
[00:35:57] Speaker A: Hello. How are you? How are you? De. Well, I'm not gonna put words in your mouth, but how are you destressing?
[00:36:06] Speaker D: How did you know?
Yes, seeing as Cameron is very stressed, and he has been very stressed for quite a while, I think he's going to look for something a little bit more gentler than when he last time tried to indulge in his vices by trying to find some wolfkin women.
[00:36:24] Speaker C: When he got beaten up by the police, you mean?
[00:36:26] Speaker D: No, when he found a lovely wolfkin woman.
[00:36:30] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:36:31] Speaker D: To see if he could get his end away on that. I like to think he just ended up in a bin with just like a thumbs up.
So, yeah, I believe cavern knows a very nice group of keepers who like to do things a little bit more in a sort of big cuddle huddle.
[00:36:57] Speaker A: In a way, it's the fuzzy legs.
[00:37:01] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah.
[00:37:03] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:37:03] Speaker D: You'd like to do things a little bit more towards nature, so. Yeah, I'm gonna go with that.
[00:37:11] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Yeah. Make your first roll.
So what is it for you? It's a. It's off the back of your insight. So also one dice.
[00:37:21] Speaker D: Mondays.
[00:37:23] Speaker C: Hey, very good, very good, very good.
[00:37:29] Speaker A: Drops you down to four.
[00:37:31] Speaker C: Hey, we love it.
[00:37:33] Speaker A: Three.
[00:37:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:37:35] Speaker D: Oh, lovely.
[00:37:37] Speaker C: It's looking more healthy, isn't it?
[00:37:39] Speaker A: These, these keepers, where, where do you envisage they are? In the city? Hmm.
[00:37:46] Speaker D: Have a little looky loo at the map.
I might need to get on your knowledge here, Dan. Where would you say, where would you say keepers would usually be?
[00:37:55] Speaker A: Well, I guess it's more how.
[00:38:00] Speaker D: I mean, I guess it depends on what kind of keepers they are as well.
[00:38:03] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Like what, what do you imagine that these keepers do outside of cuddle puddles?
That's what I wish. Social class or what kind of profession.
[00:38:16] Speaker D: Or I would probably say they're just townsfolk, but they're more sort of like industrial. So they, they would do something that would require sort of like a lot of labor, I would say.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: Sure. And then probably, probably kind of dustry hill or old town. Yeah, that's where people, the more industrial, like, people that work in the mushroom farms or whatnot.
[00:38:39] Speaker D: Yeah. Let's go.
[00:38:40] Speaker A: Keepers might be pretty, pretty good at. Hmm.
[00:38:42] Speaker D: Let's go with Dustry Hill then.
[00:38:44] Speaker A: Dustry hill. Okay, cool, cool, cool.
In which case, as you're kind of nestled in this tangle of limbs, horns and tails, one of them is just sort of like, staring at the ceiling whilst eating these kind of small, like, button mushrooms that they had stashed away. And so, like, as they are, they stop and they peer at one of the mushrooms for a long kind of introspective moment.
And then he says, have you, have any of you ever considered, like, signing up to those, to those garden keepers?
I mean, I never really, really thought about it, but then the people are saying that they're the ones that save the city. You know, like with those weird vines wrapped around the keep.
[00:39:48] Speaker D: Caverns. Gonna sort of like, bite his lip a bit and kind of go like anything that's close to any of the faces.
Bad news in my book, I'm afraid.
[00:40:06] Speaker A: One of the other keepers. Oh, but come on, Catherine. I mean, yeah, that the chip, like, the irons are really stuffy. Like, those yarlands are just insufferable. But I mean, it's just a bunch of keepers, isn't it? They're just, they're just trying to grow thing. I mean, this. They're daft. Nothing's going to grow here apart from. From, well, mushrooms. But I mean, they must have done something like. Did you, have you seen the keep? Like it's all a bit kind of charred and kind of gross now, but they were vines cavern as thick as tree trunks.
[00:40:49] Speaker D: Just admit it.
[00:40:50] Speaker A: Loaded out the ground was impressive. I mean that it's. Yeah, like they've kind of kept themselves. Themselves. I mean, like I knew about them. I never really thought to. They seemed a bit hippy ish to.
[00:41:05] Speaker D: Me, but can speak for yourself.
[00:41:11] Speaker A: Yeah, she might be fun. If nothing else, they, if they, if they can get grow vines, maybe they can grow something other than mushrooms.
[00:41:28] Speaker D: Kevin's gonna think about this for a bit and he's gonna go.
Go with what you think is best for now.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: The second keeper nods. The first one, one's kind of lost himself scoffing down button mushrooms.
[00:41:49] Speaker D: Pass those over here. Stop hogging them.
[00:41:53] Speaker A: Okay, so that's your first one. What's your second activity?
[00:41:58] Speaker D: Oh, actually, considering how much rubbish I've had with strips recently, I wasn't expecting to get that low. I wasn't expecting to roll around some high.
I am going to just seeing again. I actually would just like to try and see if I can heal myself a bit more because I've only just seen it. I see it again.
[00:42:19] Speaker A: Sure.
Okay, so if you're healing, who do you imagine you're going to? Is it perhaps these.
Are you going back to Jocasta now that you've had a formal introduction? Fire. Freedom? Or are these, are these keepers, menders of soul and body?
[00:42:43] Speaker D: Actually I was going to go to considering that they did a pretty good job last time.
And hopefully if we've got a relatively, if we're building up a relatively good relationship with them, I was actually going to go to the on ashi and ask them.
[00:42:59] Speaker A: Okay, yeah. So in which case, after your dogpile with keepers.
Yeah. You've kind of slunk your way over to celestry, keeping to the back ally back alley so there's not to be seen by too many wandering eyes and yeah, in a.
So it's, it is, it is for all extensive purposes a vice den in so much as by the time you pass through the kind of the low hanging fabrics, through the scented smoke, like an incense that lingers in the air, this is an establishment that allows you to fulfill fantasies and whatnot.
It kind of acts as more of a front for the onishi criminal activities. Be speaking to kind of the in house apothecary of sorts.
We know that the ill nature are tiff.
So I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say. So this majority woman, who's quite, quite tall and very, very slender framed. Really high cheekbones that come into a really kind of pointed chin, and a look of almost kind of. She almost looks like she's constantly surprised just where her eyebrows are raised so much.
She bids you kind of lay down, sort of sit down in this very kind of plush, deep kind of armchair, which brings your elbows kind of higher than your shoulders.
The majority woman disappears for a while and then returns a few minutes later carrying a small vial that's got this kind of wispy kind of lilac smoke drifting out of it.
She apologizes for the taste and then offers it to you.
So she is tier two.
So let's go ahead and roll.
[00:45:26] Speaker C: Oh, gosh. Does she have to roll for it?
[00:45:31] Speaker A: She rolls a five. Five, which is two segments of your harm clock.
[00:45:39] Speaker C: How much is on your harm clock?
[00:45:42] Speaker D: Three at the moment.
[00:45:43] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
Where's your harm clock? I don't see it.
[00:45:47] Speaker A: It's on the character sheets.
Okay. Okay, so you feel sort of like the ache in your shoulder and like, the tightness around your chest from your. From your bruised ribs.
Oh, sorry. It's just proven. Okay, so you.
As you drink it, you cough and splutter initially, and then you feel the tightness on your chest begin to kind of alleviate as whatever is mixed in alchemically with this concoction starts kind of numbing your.
Well, you feels like you're numbing. If you feel like the. With the armchair that you're in, you. That you're kind of floating, sitting on a cloud.
And as you kind of float away out of the vice, then you feel. You feel better?
[00:46:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:46:42] Speaker A: Marvelous. Okay, next up. Let's go, Algernon.
[00:46:49] Speaker B: Okay, I would like to clear some stress, please.
[00:46:54] Speaker A: How are you doing, Matt?
[00:46:57] Speaker B: With the magic bath, Algernon's been exposed experimenting with his photography from the roof of Codwalla del Mana.
And we find him in his little dark room, printing photographs in the bath full of this foresight chemical.
And as he thinks about the sort of stress and ptsd of the last job, with all the fire, he just sort of falls face first into the bath, submerging himself completely and getting that burning foresight sensation as visions flood. Hit.
Flood his vision.
[00:47:39] Speaker A: Okay. Okay, so that is how gonna is a. Oh, it's. You're up to two dice now.
[00:47:49] Speaker B: Yes. My weakest noise. Two.
[00:47:52] Speaker C: Great.
Oh.
[00:47:59] Speaker A: So that was a.
[00:48:01] Speaker B: Wait.
[00:48:01] Speaker C: Three it was a two and a three.
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So a three. So reduce your stress by three.
[00:48:08] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:48:09] Speaker C: Again.
[00:48:13] Speaker A: So whilst you're submerged, as you enter into that kind of inky void of the foresight, kind of leads you to lead you into, like, as the sound of the real world disappears through the kind of sensory deprivation of the bathtub of foresight, you feel like you're flying through the streets of Alicia.
And whilst you can't really hear independent conversations that are happening between people, you just kind of get. You feel their emotion, and you feel like the general sentiment of the public is getting more and more aggressive and erratic and divided.
And you. You feel like you can almost zoom out, like you're. You've got your back to the edge of the veil looking down upon Elysia, and you can almost see the city being carved out by battle lines being formed among the factions. It looks like the maps that you would have seen as you were traveling with the EIC, the foreign service, before you came back to Alicia, kind of maps that you would be laid out in war rooms.
And as you kind of look at. As tokens begin emerging, different tokens for the different factions, and they begin moving around. They're kind of jostling against one another. And you can see the battle line shifting and blurring and becoming more erratic and frenetic as they move backwards and forwards in the center of it.
You feel like you're being watched by a pair of. A pair of eyes looking up at you as you look down.
And you can't help but shake the feeling that you know who it is that you think is staring at you.
A dark haired woman curiously, curiously making herself known to you.
[00:50:48] Speaker B: Well, that brings me to my second downtime activity, which I'm hoping is to increase the clock.
[00:50:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:50:54] Speaker B: On my long term project, to find black thorn.
[00:50:59] Speaker A: So, as you kind of come out the bath of. With the thoughts of Blackthorn in your mind, how are you continuing that investigation?
[00:51:08] Speaker B: I think I would like to consort with my old friend Vertrand at the intelligence corps and sort of get a. Get a layer for the land, for the new sort of military ecosystem. I mean, our garf's that the death of Algarve has left behind, because I think a power vacuum is something that I would want to exploit. And therefore, Blackthorn will probably have her mitts all over as well.
[00:51:33] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely.
Okay, roll. You can sort, and then we'll see how it pans out.
[00:51:40] Speaker B: Six.
[00:51:41] Speaker A: Six.
[00:51:42] Speaker B: Okay, very good.
[00:51:43] Speaker A: So a six is long term.
Three segments on your clock. So one, two, three.
Takes you to there. Okay, very good.
[00:51:57] Speaker B: At five.
[00:51:58] Speaker A: So you're at five of eight on the black form when Vertren sits you down.
So, like, you, you notice specifically that the meeting does not take place at the tower like it did the last time.
And, like, virtue takes you to a, like a coffee stand on the, on the streets of Abbotsgate.
And before he even says it, you know that, like, the, the streets of Abbott's gates are a mess. Like, there's just like, it. Normally you're used to Abbott's gate being this bastion of order and principle and everything happening in it as it should do, but the streets are now awash with clergy of the children of ayah. And, like, they're just shouting hymns and sermons and, like, passages to anyone that will listen. And there's a very kind of evangelical feeling coming from them.
But as you look around, you also notice, as virtue kind of does his little introduction, chitchat. There's quite a lot of, like, scorch marks. There are burnt buildings, there are windows that appear to have been broken and boarded up.
And when you kind of come to and sort like, start paying virtue attention, he. You hear them saying. And, yeah, after the fact that the rights, they started in Spire park and then they just spread out and out and out. And there were people just running amok in the streets, just hurling the gigs like alchemist fires, random passers by in a building. It was, it was awful. It was awful. Thankfully, the, the clerics stormed out of the cathedral down the road and saw most of them off. But ever. Ever since, whatever happened to the keep, it's just been a bit of. A. Bit of a battleground, if nothing else. Just lots of to and fro and fro and to.
It's just a bit. It's hard to concentrate with all this noise and racket.
[00:54:26] Speaker B: Well, we were saying, weren't we, that we'd taken up another apocalyptic event to bring the two of us together again. And here we are at the old coffee stand.
[00:54:35] Speaker A: He yeah. He nods and I don't know what's gotten into these, these kids, just like, I don't. I just don't understand what they think they're achieving by setting fire to things. Where are they going to? Where are we going to go? What's going to change?
[00:54:52] Speaker B: Well, there are some of us who wish to avert any further apocalypse, and there are some of us in the city who wish to increase its chances. Shall we say the apathy of the last few years has boiled over.
[00:55:09] Speaker A: Yeah. He sort of like nods.
He knows an agreement.
Yes. In terms of what's happening now that, you know, poor Algarve is no longer amongst us. No one really knows what's going to happen with the ghost because they're still trying to pick through the wreckage and the rubble. But, um, yeah, I've noticed that the black guard have just been lurking around what remains of the keep, just presumably keeping an eye on, uh, any. Any ghosts that might be getting released from those poor souls that are in the keep. It.
Yes, I wouldn't imagine. Given how feisty the children of Ira being. I would be surprised if that, uh, that esoph ladies trying to make a bid for Algarve's old crown.
But she'd love it if the church was. If the children of I were in charge of the city.
[00:56:10] Speaker B: The high priestess.
[00:56:12] Speaker A: Yes, they're running. Running amok in Abbott's gate, but as I understand it, they've spread out to other districts as well, trying to bring the light of ire to the. To the masses, you know?
I mean, all of those deviants over in Duskland, haven't I?
Over there. But, um, yeah, it seems they're, they're helping in the, in the, the reconstruction efforts inspire park as well. Tend a lending aid and succor to those in need.
There's something there. They're up to something.
[00:56:51] Speaker B: Quite. Well, we've tried military autocracy. Shall we see how theocracy does for Alicia?
[00:56:57] Speaker A: He titters and, well, yes, I mean, it can't be any worse than it was without carve, can it?
[00:57:08] Speaker B: I'm glad you finally admitted, old boy.
[00:57:10] Speaker A: He was just a bit stuffy, wasn't he, though? I will miss him. He was. If nothing else, he was good fodder for jokes at parties.
[00:57:24] Speaker B: Now, um, if this isn't too crude a segue, I'm looking for a particular woman that the corps might have intelligence on.
Okay, yeah, I know her by the pseudonym of Blackthorn. She's, uh, equal to me, shall we say, in most ways equally as competent and attractive.
She wears dark sunglasses. She's a loraval with dark hair.
She likes to have her fingers in powerful pies.
I was wondering if you might have heard the rustle of any pheasants. Now, the bushes have been beaten somewhat.
[00:58:17] Speaker A: He nods and, well, I can, I can certainly put my feelers out like there's one. I've got a couple of ideas who it might be that you're referring to, but, um, as far as it comes to attractive, dark haired, uh, ladies, in the, like, in the EIC. They're there. Well, they're a dime. There are copper. A dozen.
[00:58:38] Speaker B: But I remember.
[00:58:42] Speaker E: Sorry.
[00:58:46] Speaker A: Let me. Let me.
Let me go pheasant hunting. I'll see. I'll see what I. I can dig up for you, if I can get you any firm names. So, Laura Var. Sunglasses, dark hair.
[00:59:03] Speaker B: Blackthorn. And I'm sure she's waiting around the corner for anyone who wishes to fill this power vacuum created by Algarve's demise.
[00:59:13] Speaker A: I see. Okay. Yes, I'll, um, I'll. I'll have a look for you, Algernon.
[00:59:20] Speaker B: Good show, old boy. He jolly boating weather.
[00:59:25] Speaker A: He. He nods. Uh. He chuckles and no.
What I do for some boating right now, Eddie sort of, like, finishes up his. His drink and. Right. Have to get back.
There's a city to help rebuild. He says, cool.
[00:59:50] Speaker C: Okay, so there's some juicy rivals to lovers energy going on here between Blackthorn. Love it.
[01:00:00] Speaker A: Okay, Magpie, what you do.
[01:00:04] Speaker C: So first thing Magpie is gonna do is reduce stress, indulge that vice, that obligation vice. I think she's gonna put a lot of FaceTime in with the family, her social circle, in this sort of in order. She's kind of gonna fully adopt rich Persona during it for a bit, for the first few days to kind of feel as if she's. She's out of what just happened, and that's her kind of obligation vice. So taking cover and sort of enjoying the relative comfort of her rich family's lifestyle, getting away from the sort of horrendous the memory of the flames and the screams from a few days ago. Uh, so that's good what she's gonna do. So I think it's just one die for this. Yeah. So I've only got one in resolve. So just one.
Let's see.
Here's a six.
It really worked for her. She's. She's digging it. She's digging all this. These plush sitting rooms and rich leather.
[01:01:20] Speaker A: After. After the calamity, that was the keep. I could imagine. Yeah, 100%.
[01:01:26] Speaker C: So does that take me down to one?
[01:01:28] Speaker A: One? Yeah.
[01:01:29] Speaker C: Oh, my goodness me.
[01:01:31] Speaker A: Great.
[01:01:32] Speaker C: That looks beautiful. I love that.
[01:01:34] Speaker A: Much better.
Okay, so after you spend some time getting bougie.
[01:01:39] Speaker C: Yep.
[01:01:40] Speaker A: Get my booze on. What's your second?
[01:01:43] Speaker C: Then I'm gonna start trying training, because things are getting real in Alicia and with the crew, we're wanted. It's time to sharpen our prowess, I believe, as smugglers. With an upgrade to training we. I get two pips in prowess for this, don't I? So I think. I think basically Magpie is going to spend a bit of time doing. She's going to be sort of sharpening up her physical state, her dexterity up. So she. She's going to do a bit of running across rooftops. She's going to do a bit of old, like finesse, rapier training, remembering all the lessons that her mentor, Samuel used to teach her. And she's going to have Samuel on her mind a lot while she's doing this because she's going to be thinking how she's got to get Samuel out of jail. That's kind of the next thing she's quite focused on, aside from what the crew is up to.
[01:02:35] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:37] Speaker C: In which do I just get to do that?
[01:02:40] Speaker A: The two xp.
[01:02:41] Speaker C: Okay, cool. Thank you. Two in prowess.
[01:02:44] Speaker E: Beautiful.
[01:02:45] Speaker A: Whereabouts in the city are you doing it?
[01:02:48] Speaker C: I probably would do it. I think I'd probably do the training around Cadwalader Manor and in it.
[01:02:55] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:02:56] Speaker C: I think if that's alright with Albany.
[01:02:59] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[01:03:00] Speaker C: I mean, use this for family estate as a training ground.
[01:03:04] Speaker A: Well, so as you're kind of going between the dilapidated kind of abandoned buildings of, of the ivory, you notice that with all of the kind of upheaval throughout the rest of the city, a lot of people seem to be leaving the ivory kind of rough, like kind of alone.
I mean, there's already kind of. Of a negative superstition around the place, given that it's, you know, the old stomping grounds of house Antillea.
But yeah, if there was any kind of incidental through flow traffic that seems to have largely kind of dried up apart from all of the most persistent or desperate of people.
And as you're kind of going from rooftop to rooftop, you notice that there's. There's a lot of noise towards the west end of the ivories, sort of like where it connects with the bridge between, like the corridor that links Haveny and Duskland, because that seems to be where, I mean, you could almost call it like a forward outpost of children of ire that are doing, seemingly doing their best to kind of like blockade people from going into the ivory.
And you know that they have very, very little goodwill towards the ivory at best. But now it seems like that they're kind of taking a more active stance throughout the city that they're proactively trying to stop people kind of using it, almost like they're trying to condemn the whole area.
[01:04:46] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:04:47] Speaker A: But as you're kind of, like, peering down at these clerics of ire.
[01:04:54] Speaker B: You.
[01:04:55] Speaker A: Turn and notice that on a rooftop across the street from you is a cloaked figure squatting, like crouching, similar to you, but the figure is looking directly at you, unnervingly, the purple light from overhead reflecting off a silver mask that, as you squint to get the detail off, appears to be in the shape of a raven's head.
As you like, you hear like a loud commotion down from the children. And as you kind of look away for a moment, as you're kind of naturally drawn to the commotion, when you look back, the figure is gone.
And are you like where are you heading after?
[01:06:06] Speaker C: I probably scurry back to the, the manor after that.
[01:06:12] Speaker A: Okay. I think as you move through the ivory, like in through the kind of the abandoned manor houses you keep on, like, as you kind of glancing around your surroundings to ensure that you're not being seen, you notice that this figure wearing the silver mask appears to always be in eyesight, but like in different windows, kind of looking down at you like crouch like propped up on a gargoyle overhang down in the street. And there seems to be no kind of rhyme or reason to the location. They just seem to be around you, almost like they're stalking you. But you notice that the figure is getting closer and closer to the beach.
[01:07:04] Speaker C: I, I would like to attempt to anticipate where they're going to pop up next and sort of do a bit of skulking about so that I can surprise them.
[01:07:16] Speaker A: Okay. Um, what are you using for?
[01:07:20] Speaker C: I reckon that's a prowl. That's a very classic prowl roll. I would say give it.
What would the conditions for this be?
[01:07:34] Speaker E: Risky standard.
[01:07:36] Speaker A: Roll it as a risky standard.
[01:07:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:07:40] Speaker A: And I'm going to roll in contest.
[01:07:42] Speaker C: Okay, fine.
[01:07:46] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:07:48] Speaker C: Very nervous now. Okay, I'll go.
It's a six.
[01:08:02] Speaker A: In which case you like, you're beginning to make sense of how this figure is moving around. And the thing that alarms you is that you notice that they, that you're pretty sure there must be some sort of magic involved.
[01:08:24] Speaker C: They're telepathing or something.
[01:08:26] Speaker A: Absolutely no way. They're getting from a to b in the time it should take them.
And as you move, your subtle about like your awareness of them.
But you just about hear though from behind you and you turn as you turn and wheel. You like drawing a rapier or I.
[01:08:52] Speaker C: Am totally drawing my rapier at this point.
So I'm gonna, I'm gonna whip around and meet, as I'm whipping around, I'm going to say I'm gonna hold out my wrap here and say, why are you following me?
[01:09:06] Speaker A: In which case, yeah, as you turn, like rapier drawn, the figure that's been stalking you stops.
And up close you can see the intra co ornate detail of this mask with sort of like lilac purple gems in the eye sockets.
And the tip of your rapier is pressed against their breastbone.
And as you, as you say that, the figure looks down at the rapier tip, looks slowly back up to you and they hold you, they hand you a scroll.
[01:09:53] Speaker C: Not sure what is it?
[01:09:58] Speaker A: I have, I have a scroll held out. And so, like in this moment, you can, like you can take in their entirety. They've got this very ornate silver kind of corvid mask, but their, their clothes are exquisitely fine, like posha, if you will, than some of the stuff that you and your family wear. It's clear that whoever this person is behind this mask comes from a lot of wealth.
But yeah, you see like there's a glowing amulet, a slightly glowing amulet hanging from their neck, their eyes obscured by these kind of amethyst gems.
Yeah. Like this dark figure silently holds her.
[01:10:47] Speaker C: What's that?
[01:10:49] Speaker A: The figure tilts their head to the right slightly and extends her hand a bit more. And you notice as the hand gets extended more that it's sealed with a wax stamp.
The seal of what appears to be a mask. Like a mass, a mannequin, a masquerades mask divided down the middle, but vertically, one dark, one light.
[01:11:18] Speaker C: Does that make sense to me? Do I recognize it?
[01:11:22] Speaker A: We don't.
[01:11:23] Speaker C: Okay, carefully and suspiciously, I will use my non rapier hand to reach for the. Snatch the scroll away from that.
[01:11:37] Speaker A: Um, and the figure just allows a scroll to be taken. And then like moving their head back to a neutral position, they take a step back tentatively by putting their weight on their back foot and then holding your gaze, they vanish into thin air.
[01:12:03] Speaker C: Excellent. Right. And I open up the scroll to see what it says.
[01:12:10] Speaker A: Well, as you go to open the scroll, I reckon that's a good time to have a quick break.
[01:12:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:12:18] Speaker A: Cool. So we will find out who the.
