[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hello, Internet and welcome. Hi. Hi. Hi.
[00:00:05] Speaker B: Hi.
[00:00:05] Speaker A: Hi. I hope we can be heard to the world. So we will be checking that intermittently.
Hi, my name is DM Dan. Welcome to Explorers of Elsewhere Titan Isles, our third campaign in the Elsewhere series. I guess it is almost a series, isn't it?
A bit of a series using the amazing Dagger Heart Rules from Darrington Press.
Joining me tonight are five paragons of awesomeness.
We have Nate over the way from me. Hello. Hello. We've got Livy just down below me.
[00:00:42] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:00:44] Speaker A: We've got Georgia over there from me.
[00:00:48] Speaker D: Hello.
[00:00:50] Speaker A: We've got Theo hiding down in that corner.
[00:00:54] Speaker E: Hello.
[00:00:55] Speaker A: And we've got Tim hiding down in that corner. Ah, Welcome back. If you are. If this is not your first time, if this is your first time, thank you for joining us. We've got a few people in chat, so. Hello. Hello.
Yes, we have had.
Well, this is the fifth episode in the campaign.
We've. We've done some daggering and we've done some heart inside in equal measure, give or take. Something like that. Sounds about right. Sounds about right.
But most importantly, we actually made it to the place that the campaign is named after.
So, yes, last week, our adventurers arrived on the titular Titan Isles, like on the mainland, on the main.
The main land mass.
[00:01:50] Speaker C: You.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: You did some walking. It's very stormy, it's very wet and rainy.
Gardy. Nearly got eaten by a tree.
You beat the tree up.
Yeah. Farm was had by all. And then there was a small.
Small but insignificant. And insignificant little reveal at the end of the session. And I'm sure we may touch upon it when we kick back in. Hello, Hungry Games. How you doing? Hello. Hello.
So, yes, there's a lot that I have on my list of to do for this evening. So who, with that in mind, who wants to jump straight in?
[00:02:32] Speaker C: Me.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: Me.
[00:02:34] Speaker A: Right, title sequence.
[00:02:51] Speaker F: Hello, I'm Nate and I'll be playing Griffin, a Sanguvar bard.
[00:02:57] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Livy and I'm playing Abe, the Guardian Keeper.
[00:03:03] Speaker E: Hello, my name is Theo and I'll be playing Cooper, dragon scent rogue.
[00:03:09] Speaker D: Hi, my name is Georgia and I'll be playing Cassandra, an ace of our sorcerer.
[00:03:15] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Tim and I'm playing Gardi, the Johnny Druid.
[00:03:21] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan, the games master. In this adventure, There are some who see others in a particular light, convinced that a given person is inherently good or bad.
Most would decry such absolute statements as folly, devoid of empathy or consideration of morality.
No one is born good or evil.
They would point to incidental or deliberate circumstances in a person's life that could have affected their trajectory through life, much like how a dam or fallen tree both affect the flow of a river.
They would argue that such a deterministic idea robs someone of their own agency and choice, seemingly unable to be anything more than than what they are.
And yet there would be those that turn to elsewhere's recent history, providing one of many countless examples of foundational heroism, villainy, loyalty, betrayal to support the idea that maybe some people are just naturally inclined to lean one way or another.
Perhaps then the truth is somewhere in between.
Through our actions, we foster aspects we hold dear in those around us in the hopes that a planted seed will bloom into something beautiful.
But sometimes it can grow into something that strangles the life out of all that come near.
And so we find the five of.
[00:05:37] Speaker B: You.
[00:05:40] Speaker A: In the middle of a heavily forested area.
The sounds with the sounds of when he finds it off I've lost me, I'll find it with the sounds of the rain beating down on the canopy of the trees overhead, punctuated by the staccato booms of thunder every now and then as the so Cass, Cooper, Gardi, and Griffin.
Arguably your attention is somewhere between your keeper companion, Abe, and this new, younger, this young lady keeper who's emerged from the undergrowth alongside this large green stripe, furred kind of leonine like creature with two long horns raising from its foreheads, feathered wings attaching from its the base of its front paws up to its kind of shoulder joints, its tail swishing angrily as it inspects a five of.
[00:07:07] Speaker C: You.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: Most specifically over more specifically, perhaps you're focused on the words that have just come out of this young keeper's mouth.
You're not supposed to be here, Father.
What do you do, Abe?
[00:07:37] Speaker C: I think Abe takes a step kind of ahead of everyone, looking at his daughter who he hasn't seen for a number of years, and says, well, I didn't come to disturb you.
I didn't think you'd be here right now.
[00:08:13] Speaker A: The look on the Keeper's face tells you that she's not entirely convinced with. Well, she's not convinced with the power of that statement.
And her eyes narrow. The other four of you, you are acutely aware of the sounds of sort of like encroaching keepers, and it's quite daunting being surrounded by these like 8 to 9 foot behemoths that you, you can't help but shake the feeling that the foliage that's kind of cracking or snapping under their hooves seems almost deliberate, almost like a.
A concerted intimidation effort, because you get the feeling that these.
This group could pass through the forest silently.
[00:09:25] Speaker C: I think Abe, hearing this and realizing that there's more than just her here, sort of, yeah. Tries to get himself between her and the rest of them and just says.
[00:09:49] Speaker A: Your.
[00:09:49] Speaker C: Your fights with me, not them.
They've got nothing to do with it. They didn't even know you're here.
[00:10:01] Speaker A: The.
The woman at this moment then breaks her gaze away from UA for the first time, and she regards the other four of you who like you as she peers that you want. Like turn by turn. There's a flash of lightning that illuminates her face for a moment, long enough that you immediately notice the similarity with her eyes and Abe's.
But as she looks to the four of you.
Why are you trespassing on my island?
She says.
[00:10:56] Speaker C: Well, have you not seen what's going on?
[00:10:58] Speaker A: Not you, she says.
[00:11:04] Speaker D: I think Cass. Cass would still step forward.
She's got her hand on where she keeps alimony, the pistol.
And she. She meet his eye. We're here with the explorers of Elsewhere, come to investigate this weather.
[00:11:27] Speaker C: She.
[00:11:28] Speaker A: The girl tilts her head and.
Explorers here.
[00:11:37] Speaker D: That's right.
[00:11:38] Speaker A: And there's a. Somewhat wry.
Like there's somewhere between a smirk and a sneer.
Why.
Why are the lap dogs of Avermore here?
[00:12:03] Speaker C: Lap dogs?
[00:12:09] Speaker A: You came here once before and you were wholly unprepared for what lay on this island.
You set up your little.
Your little beach huts on the mount.
Why have you returned to this island?
[00:12:30] Speaker D: This weather.
And I assure you, I am very prepared.
[00:12:40] Speaker A: She looks.
She looks back and forth. You are all explorers, she says. And she looks of her own. Four of you. So. Griffin, Cooper, Gardi, Gas. And then, like, her attention sneaks back to you, Abe.
And then she kind of looks away. Are you all here on explorer business?
Oh, yes. I don't think.
[00:13:13] Speaker C: Oh, Nathan, you want to be.
[00:13:15] Speaker A: I think I'll mute. Oh, sorry about that.
[00:13:21] Speaker F: Oh, not. Not us. We're.
[00:13:23] Speaker A: We're just.
[00:13:24] Speaker F: We're just here as.
[00:13:25] Speaker A: Cooper.
[00:13:25] Speaker E: What?
[00:13:25] Speaker B: We here?
[00:13:26] Speaker A: Why?
[00:13:27] Speaker F: Who are we here?
[00:13:28] Speaker A: Just.
[00:13:28] Speaker E: We're just assist.
[00:13:30] Speaker D: They're all here on behalf of the explorers of Elsewhere. I have commandeered their assistance.
[00:13:37] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:13:41] Speaker E: Sure.
[00:13:43] Speaker A: The.
The keeper, like, eyes you for a moment, Cass.
And then she turns her head to look to you. Guardi.
You're being mighty quiet.
[00:14:03] Speaker B: I felt it weren't my place to interfere.
[00:14:08] Speaker C: And.
[00:14:11] Speaker B: Forgive me, but my purpose is a little different. Perhaps for my friends.
While I'm not here seeking your people. I would speak with you.
I must speak with the spirits.
But watch this place.
You.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: You hold yourself as one who is attuned with nature and the spirits?
[00:14:43] Speaker B: I do.
[00:14:47] Speaker A: You g. You notice, like, the Keepers kind of surrounding you. Like, they. They kind of glance side to side at one another, and you can, like, over the sound of the. The thumb, like the thumping rain. You can hear, like, a couple of whispers ripple between them.
Perhaps you, she says, looking at you, Guardi, and then to you, Cass. Perhaps you can be of use to us.
We will.
We will escort you to our village.
There is matters we would discuss, including what to do with this exile who stands among your number.
[00:15:49] Speaker C: I told you, I. I didn't.
[00:15:50] Speaker D: I.
[00:15:52] Speaker C: I didn't.
It's not my fault I was exiled. Blame your. Your precious leader.
[00:16:01] Speaker A: There's. There's a mutter of, like, the. The murmurs. The whispers, Guardi, that you heard suddenly flash slightly into, like, anger and irritation and on, like.
Like, surprisingly fast.
This young. Like this. This young Keeper, Abe's daughter, you would assume, her head flicks and her arm comes up, and this large warhammer she's holding in one hand, its head made of this shiny, smooth kind of white marble, like rock, with veins of, like, a jade that run through it. She hefts it effortlessly to point it at Abe's like, chin.
I am the leader, she says, but I'm sure Malgova will have words for.
[00:17:08] Speaker C: You, like, got words for her as well. That's all I'm saying.
[00:17:16] Speaker A: So is there, like, the. The. As the Keepers begin to move in, is there anything that you lot want to ask before we escort?
[00:17:29] Speaker C: The Gabe's looking at them just, like, don't ask too many questions.
[00:17:38] Speaker F: How far are we walking?
[00:17:42] Speaker A: So let's have a little look see at the map.
So you are currently.
Let's turn that one on, and then let's let that load up. Okay, so you currently are around about here on the island.
So you traveled up from Dorlishal to the south. You made a landfall. I guess I could even do. This was a little squiggly line to show your journey. So you. You sailed up, you moored, and then you kind of followed this river along to your current location.
[00:18:28] Speaker C: The.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: Nate. Was that a Nate question or a Griffin Griffin out loud question.
One of the. One of the sort, like the Keeper hunters, like, sidles up to you, and, well, as he's passing you, says, it is not a long walk for us, but for a short leg like you, it will be Considerably longer.
[00:19:02] Speaker F: Oh, okay.
[00:19:07] Speaker C: Could we.
[00:19:07] Speaker F: Could we get any help? Is there.
[00:19:13] Speaker C: I'm just asking, Abe.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: Just.
[00:19:16] Speaker C: Abe, just try. Try some. Like, you can't. You can't just ask like, big people to give you lifts. Like, you can't just ask for uppies from like, unknown sort of clan members.
Like.
[00:19:37] Speaker F: Oh, I'm.
I mean, more like, do you have any, like, wagons or anything?
[00:19:45] Speaker A: I mean, we.
[00:19:46] Speaker F: We don't want to. We don't want to be like, lagging behind or anything.
[00:19:52] Speaker A: The.
The keepers that. So their numbers, about six keepers, including like Abe's daughter and this.
But not including like the large green kind of lion like creep, like panther like creature, but the way.
The way that these six keepers, like, turn to look at you.
And it's.
There's some similarities perhaps with the way that Abe may have turned to look at you in the past, but I don't know, There's. There's just something a bit more and like, dare I say it, primal about their look.
There isn't. They don't answer. They simply look at you and then turn to carry on heading in the direction that they were heading in.
[00:20:50] Speaker F: Griffin just shrugs and goes, well, no harm in asking.
[00:20:58] Speaker B: Just before we get going.
Excuse me.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:01] Speaker B: I'm sorry, but what was your name? Khan.
[00:21:11] Speaker A: Well, is Abe waiting? Is Abe jumping up the chance to answer or.
[00:21:18] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, Abe can jump in.
He's just kind of like, well, if we will go in now, I've got.
We got. And she just points everyone out. We got Cass, Cooper, Griffin. Gy, everyone. This is my daughter, I guess is. It's Brynya.
[00:21:45] Speaker A: The. The keeper lady stops and like you. You all watch as, like her shoulders raise like they tense up and she. She like half turns her head.
My name is Yalna, she says.
And Abe, you.
Hey, what's going through your head? As your daughter tells you her name is not the one that you gave her, but it is one that is close to your wife.
[00:22:33] Speaker C: Yes, please, everyone.
Wife. My wife.
Yeah, I mean, I think there's a. So, I mean, he's not got a lot of color in his face because he's grey, but all the color that he does have in his face just kind of drains out, like, sort of this, as if he's seen a ghost or heard a ghost, should I say?
And he says, oh, when did you take on that name?
[00:23:17] Speaker A: She like, she's. She's moving at the head of her.
Her pack and like loud enough so you can hear.
She just shouts out long enough ago that you should have known.
[00:23:39] Speaker C: Well, I would have known if you wouldn't have kicked me off the island.
[00:23:48] Speaker A: As we will we'll cut to sort of like the journey through the forest.
It's hard work especially keeping up with these keepers who just like. They're. They're lot. Well, I mean a. Seems okay. I mean these are old stomping grounds. But yeah, the other keepers just seem quite adept at their kind of long hoofed legs just sort of like striding through the undergrowth. But the other four of you have to like.
You're almost at a near constant state of like a slow jog to keep up with the keepers and it doesn't help help that sort of like your feet are kind of sinking into the foilage or slipping under the. On the rain slick ground.
But I guess probably feels better having like a determined destination like the route to follow as opposed to the kind of the general wandering that you had whilst you're heading through the keepers. Like two. Two of the six keepers are sort of like loitering behind you to make sure that none of you kind of get lost.
But they're not really paying any of you all that much attention.
Are there any conversations that we zoom in on whilst you're going.
[00:25:14] Speaker C: I mean, I will I mean a. A able to try in to get some information to them before they get there of what to expect.
But it's kind of obviously a bit of a mumbled conversation because he doesn't want them to overhear but he'll try and whisper.
Right, Right.
I don't want to use the word cult but it's not far off.
Everything went a bit awry, you see. And they've got this leader. She's a. Right.
Her name's McGover. Don't believe a word she says. She's. She's abs. She's. She's acid. She's. They went. They all went a bit weirdy. And I was like no, I don't like this. This is. This is all a bit marching it. And they went oh no way. He's Golf Trust island then. And that's kind of. I mean I'm skipping some steps but that's kind of what you know, that's the general gist is they went a bit weird. I said no, that's a bit weird. And they said well you can get off then but so just be careful because they've got weird. They do weird things and they're a bit, you know, oky kooky but they will kill you if they feel like it. So, you know, just.
So. No, don't ask too many questions. He says, just like directly looking at. Between Griffin and Guardi in a kind of. You shut your mouth and you don't go digging.
Right.
[00:26:56] Speaker B: What were you talking about? I wasn't.
[00:26:59] Speaker C: Don't be talking, you know, changing into a. No Eagles and talking about magic and spirits and stuff, because they'll have opinions and they will. They'll lap it up, but then they'll get you in. And then they were like. It'll be like, oh, well, maybe we should, like, you know, kill you or something. I don't know why they'll do. I don't know. But don't. Just careful. Just be careful.
[00:27:18] Speaker B: Just misunderstood the name.
[00:27:21] Speaker C: I. No, you. No, it's no Misunderstood. There's no misunderstood.
[00:27:27] Speaker F: If they find out that we're all right, then they might. They might help us. They might help us to get where we need to go.
[00:27:33] Speaker C: They think of no one but themselves in their. In their own agenda.
Whatever they do, they're just gonna use it. They'll use it against you. Don't be thinking that they're our friends, because they ain't. I mean, that's my family. And they didn't. They just kicked me out like it was nobody's. You know, it was like, nothing.
[00:27:54] Speaker B: I've got to say, when you said agenda, I was like, oh, maybe the cult he's talking about is the woke agenda that Abe hates.
[00:28:00] Speaker C: Yeah, they're there, they're marrying each other, there's boys kissing boys, Happy pride, everyone.
[00:28:23] Speaker D: Oh, it's like politely asking your weird father to leave the group chat.
[00:28:32] Speaker C: Just say, back in my day.
[00:28:37] Speaker A: Okay, so at the. Between the five of you, you. You end up traveling for approximately, let's say, like 30 to 45 minutes. It's not that long in the grand scheme of things if you weren't having to jog, like, pseudo jog for most of it.
And the. The rain only seems to be kind of getting worse as you go.
The further you go, it's like. It's difficult.
But you've only been on the island for maybe like three, possibly four hours tops.
But it's difficult. It almost.
I can only imagine it feels like a significant amount of time has passed because, like, you left Dorlishal pretty much at the crack of dawn, but it has been almost like midnight, pitch black overhead, since you arrived. The storm clouds overhead are so thick, they're blocking out any semblance of sort of like.
Well, the vast majority of the sunlight and whatever is peeling through through seems more like a pale, sickly imitation of moonlight, only, like, supported by the blasts of, like, white pink lightning that arc across the skies.
And Abe, I guess you. Well, you. You obviously know where you're going, Abe, but the four of you, the other four of you, there is a moment where you, like the whole journey seems to have been uphill as well, which is equally as annoying, but you reach like a crest in this foliage.
So in this. In this forested area where in front of you, in front of you, you see the telltale signs of the edge of a village, starting with Cooper. Theo, specifically, when, as you see this sort of, like, forest, this keeper forest village, what's the first thing that grabs your attention?
[00:31:29] Speaker E: I think for Cooper, he sees like this very strange kind of makeshift, like, built out of, like, branches. Well, like in the center of the village, kind of square, if you want to call it a square. The square probably isn't even a square. This is like a kind of open area, and it's like. It feels like it was once a tree that has kind of been dug out.
And then there's like the hanging basket in the middle, and it feels very much like an orthodox well.
And Cooper's never seen anything like it before.
[00:32:12] Speaker A: Okay, so. So almost like a hollowed out trail tree, but it seems to be hollowed out into the ground.
Okay, so send through the village like a hollow tree? Well, yeah.
Okay.
What's the first thing Cassandra notices?
[00:32:36] Speaker D: I imagine sort of scattered around, either kind of hanging as doorways or sort of curtain aspects and sometimes even sort of interwoven into roofs. Sort of like thatched roofing, sort of really intricately knotted vines. So sort of in the way that you would loom something, vines have been loomed to sort of create patterns and suggestion of images and kind of in. Yeah, in the way that you would sew something, they're spread, spread all around in different images.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: Okay, so if I. If I dub that, like, vine knitted artwork. Yeah, knitted big air quotes.
Okay.
Yeah, so I. I can imagine that they.
You draw some kind of parallels in your mind with the penance that has hung across the street, like, over the streets of Dorlash Hal.
Like the fabrics, the clothes lines almost. But yeah, these. These twisted vines that hang from one to the other. Amazing. Okay, Gardi, what's the first thing you notice?
[00:33:49] Speaker B: Over every doorway, there is a small chime made of pieces of bone and antler and feather that is kind of clattering away in the wind.
[00:34:03] Speaker A: Okay, so chimes of bone, antler, and feather over Every door.
Yeah, the surprisingly, the clatter, the chorus of clattering chimes reaches your ears without being completely drowned out by the storm overhead.
Perhaps it's because of the, the violent way the chimes are being kind of swung around by like, by the storm.
What's the first thing Griffin notices.
[00:34:43] Speaker F: There is in one of the very few sort of like stone structures. So it's not like a building so much. It's sort of like an open sort of stone area.
He notices huge animal carcasses that are hung up to dry the, the meat that's on them much bigger than any animal that he's ever seen.
[00:35:11] Speaker A: Yeah, okay.
Yes. Just looking at this, this sort of like storage building, if nothing else, like, it looks like it would feed many villagers for a considerable amount of time. But it also dawns on you that these things are prowling like the islands that you are on.
Okay, so stone structure hanging huge animal carcasses. And last but not least, what does Abe see that secretly perhaps he's quite happy to have seen for the first time in a long time?
[00:35:57] Speaker C: I think he will see a, A There's like a large sort of fire pit that is in the middle or sort of by the village that has sort of logs and things surrounding it, which is kind of like a hub of their community. And he is sort of reminded of times where everyone would sit around and chat. And it was when he used to live here before.
[00:36:41] Speaker A: Okay, you.
Well, I think what I might suggest then is that as you kind of crest the hill and you see, see the village of Rice Filar in front of you, like the, the other four of you, you. You notice your, your four things respectively. But a. When you turn to sort of like look to the fire pit, you notice that the fire is extinguished.
The area around it is.
And it, it gives off the vibe that you, you can't help but get the feeling that. But maybe it hasn't been used in a while.
So, yeah, you have arrived at the village of Rice Viln.
So as the. As you enter into the.
The village proper, I guess it's potentially what are we thinking? Are people living in like, constructed.
Let's say that the, the people, the buildings that people are living in are constructed, but they seem to be kind of emerging from. From these kind of large tree trunks, these large trunked trees. I should say that you can only assume a similarly hollowed much like the, the well. The well tree in the center of the center of the village. But as you walk through, you can see that sort of like some, most of the windows are shuttered presumably to protect from, from the constant rains.
But like there's a few that are like creek open as you pass and you can see like keepers peering out from. From you. But it's, I mean there are, they're actually peering down at you given the height of these windows. So it's quite, quite bizarre almost to be walking through this village of giants as you're, you're led to towards what appears to be this kind of large central structure.
The.
It's ne. It's near the well. The, the other four, four of you notice this kind of extinguished fire pit. There are what seem to be sitting stones and like smaller fire pits off the back of it.
You can like Abe, you see the area where sort of like the young keepers would gather together for like story time. Perhaps Gardi, you also recognize similarities in what you're seeing from the village to what you grew up with perhaps.
But as you head towards this structure it's, it's got this like peaked central roof and then two sort of like long wings that emerge from the left and right hand side of it.
And there's an almost, there's a, almost a curtain of rainwater dripping off the edges of this curved roof made up of thatched vines to sort of like splash on the forest floor.
And Garda, you notice, you suspect that this must be the main like hall if you will.
As you notice that the chimes above its great doors are not made up of like bones or antlers but collections like it's a gallery of animal skulls that make hollow noises as they clatter into one another.
And as you're led inside the sounds of the thunderstorm kind of quieten down as you, you as you enter and it's, it's surprisingly there are patches of warmth throughout this place like from various fires that are lit here and there. And you can see that at the head of this long like animal fur rug is a, is a, like a, a large high backed chair at the head of this long table that runs left to right with a number of seats along it.
And you all watch as Yalna moves around the table and then takes her seat but sits down in this large kind of commanding throne like chair.
Abe, you are consciously aware that there are keepers that have noticed. You enter and there they are like whispering to one another. Cassandre. They remind you somewhat of sort of like the, the socialites of Avore gossiping on the market streets about who like who's done what recently.
So I know Maybe it is a bit odd to see keepers doing it in a way, especially in this kind of environment.
And as Yalna takes a seat, she gestures to the chairs at the long table that runs in front of her, gesturing for you to take a seat.
[00:43:07] Speaker C: I think Abel remains standing.
[00:43:10] Speaker F: Clifford will sit down. He's knackered.
[00:43:13] Speaker A: Yes, yes.
Yeah. Yana insists that Cassandre and Guardi take the seats closest to her, like almost directly in front of her.
And as like without saying a word, you see like a number of like plates. In effect, plates are brought into this, this hall, this large hall. Like the ceiling overhead is high up. You can see large kind of wooden beams stretching overhead with various bits of kind of natural decoration hanging down.
But the, the plates that are served up contain all sorts of sort of like cured, like meat jerkies, like slices.
There are berries like Griffin, you, you like in the bowl in front of you there are berries as large, like blue color berries as large as your fist.
And, and yeah, as the food is like the food is laid out and you know, you notice that the food is primarily just for the five of you. Really. Well, four of you. No one's giving you anything. A.
[00:44:38] Speaker F: It's cuz he's not sat down.
[00:44:41] Speaker A: And Yama tilts her head and.
Please eat.
You are our guests.
[00:44:50] Speaker F: Oh, thanks very much. Appreciate it.
[00:44:55] Speaker B: I'll probably crack on as well.
[00:44:58] Speaker C: I think Abe will just kind of point out one of the like yellow berries that are in the mix. You don't eat those ones. I, I took some. I mean I, I don't think you've got the stomach. I think you've got to eat that since you were young to be able to tolerate those ones.
[00:45:22] Speaker F: Is, Is Griffin just kind of a heartbeat?
[00:45:26] Speaker C: I'm not, I'm not sure.
I'm not sure. Little one should have those.
[00:45:32] Speaker A: Oh, what's it, what's it going to do?
[00:45:34] Speaker C: Well, you, you.
Well, I guess we'll find out.
[00:45:40] Speaker A: Gonna make that note.
Griffin ate the yellowberry.
[00:45:47] Speaker D: Okay, Mark several stress.
[00:45:57] Speaker B: Sorry.
Can I try and like steal a couple of bread rolls or something and just hide them away?
[00:46:08] Speaker C: Just keep the bread rolls later.
[00:46:15] Speaker A: You, you absolutely can. Yes.
Like. Well, there's a, there's a point where you're not entirely sure if you were for all except some purposes caught in the actual of smuggling carbs off the table.
It's like, like we're talking like flatbreads here.
And but yeah, regard like whether or not you were caught or not. No one says anything and almost like. And in fact when when this sort of like bowl of like flatbread is. Is. It is emptied both from your pickings, Guardian. Everyone else kind of grabbed, grabbing their own, like another plate of like a smaller plate of flatbreads is brought to the table.
But yeah, you're. You notice that y' all not like. As you kind of tuck into your food. Yona is quiet.
And for any of those, any of you who look to her, you notice that she's more just like leaning back in her. On her chair, like stroking her chin and studying you.
But Gardi, she does seem most interested.
Her attention, you notice, does seem mostly focused on you.
[00:47:37] Speaker B: I'm gonna assume it's because I've like put a couple of flatbreads in my bag and I'm like swe.
[00:47:47] Speaker A: The silence is broken only by Abe kind of gleaming over and being like, oh, I wouldn't need that.
And anything that any of you want to chirp up with.
[00:48:03] Speaker D: I think Cass will kind of splay awkwardly during the dinner. Just kind of look over at Gi, or not even really look at Gi, just sort of while they're eating and just be like, are you.
Are you okay?
[00:48:23] Speaker B: I'm just very out of my depth, guys.
I mean, I think we all are.
[00:48:28] Speaker D: The tree earlier.
[00:48:32] Speaker B: Honestly. Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I barely knew what happened.
[00:48:36] Speaker D: Good. Yes, good. Okay.
[00:48:39] Speaker B: It's not the first time I've been attacked by the undergrowth.
[00:48:44] Speaker D: Somehow I'm not surprised.
[00:48:46] Speaker B: I'll tell you the story sometime.
How about you? I mean, that's been a bit of a whirlwind with unexpected company.
[00:48:57] Speaker D: I don't know what you're talking about.
We got on the island.
[00:49:01] Speaker C: We're here.
[00:49:01] Speaker D: We made it.
We're fine.
[00:49:06] Speaker B: We are.
[00:49:11] Speaker A: Cass, you are now on the island. You have successfully arrived.
How.
How much does being in the natives village like, how much did that factor into the plan? What is the plan now? But you're here.
[00:49:29] Speaker D: Cass's entire plan up until this point has been reach island, find Gods prophet.
[00:49:38] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:49:38] Speaker D: I don't think it even crossed her mind that there would be people on the island, that there would be things living on the island. In her mind it was just gods on island find of. So now I think she is slightly bamboozled, slightly thrown by the arrival of people here and obviously a culture here as well. And trees that eat people who are probably her friend.
So yeah, she is spending most of their time just staring at this keeper who has led them here.
She is certain that she is going to tell them the information that she needs, but also she is very distracted by this place and it is kind of bringing out a bit of her that she's not felt in a while, which is very curious about everything.
But still her main focus is where are these things that she's come for.
[00:50:34] Speaker A: What in the room piques your interest the most?
[00:50:41] Speaker D: How big is this room? Did you see Hagen?
[00:50:44] Speaker A: So I, I guess the e. Like, I guess the easiest way for me to describe it is it picture like if, if you had like a Viking long hall mixed with like Celtic, Saxon, lots of naughty viney kind of aesthetics.
So quite, quite large.
[00:51:08] Speaker D: I think on several sections of the wall are kind of huge reams. They look like they've been torn like whole from trees of kind of bark, dead bark, the underside of bark that's been painted or carved into in various ways sort of depicting these huge animals and kind of trees and keepers. For Scott.
[00:51:36] Speaker A: The.
Okay. In which case the two. There are two. I would argue that there are two specifically that seem to kind of hold prominence of the various kind of carvings.
And one depicts so the, the, the hanging like the bark canvas if you will.
The one on the right depicts this large winged bird. It, it's. It looks remarkably sort of like eagle like, but with these large kind of resplendent wings, two powerful looking legs tipped with what you imagine would be quite devastatingly sharp claws.
And it seems to be sort of like radiating this light almost. That's the impression you get from the depiction.
And then on the paint on the canvas to the left on the left hand side of the hall, it's this almost sort of like winged insectoid creature. It looks like it has powerful legs that are then topped with like a thin kind of midriff, large kind of for a larger thorax, these wings that blossom out of its back, you know, powerful like claws on the end of its arms. And this mantle, it almost looks like somewhere between like a mantis head or a.
Well, it looks almost draconic in, in a way somewhere between. It's, it's. It's got the kind of large bulbous eyes but then its face kind of tapers into this kind of snout like more.
And it also appears to be radiating some, some sort of energy.
But I, I would expect with your knowledge score of.
Yeah, plus one.
Actually no, I will, I will ask for the, I will ask for the reaction knowledge roll.
[00:54:03] Speaker D: I mean I do have well traveled and researcher.
[00:54:10] Speaker A: In which case we will let you auto pass that. Then you can't help but imagine that these two kind of large drawings, these artworks Depict.
But the bird is Burunan, one of the Titans, one of the primal, the world spirits and the other is Faisa.
So yes, the.
If, if there were, if there were any evidence that you've had so far that there are absolutely gods that kind of preside in this place.
If nothing else, these keepers appear to worship them. Perhaps if that's what the artwork is an Adolf.
How's Cooper doing?
[00:55:10] Speaker E: Cooper's just enjoying a hot meal. He's no longer jogging.
He's keeping quiet because Abe said that was the right thing to do and he knows good advice when he hears it and hoping that Griffin isn't ill on yellow berries.
[00:55:28] Speaker C: You know, he's doing all right.
He's.
[00:55:31] Speaker E: He's just again trying to take it all in. He's a bit bamboozled again. I don't think he was expecting what he was expecting on the island either.
I think anything he's done on the island previously has been like very brief on like the shore and that's it with the pirates and that's it.
[00:55:51] Speaker A: So.
[00:55:51] Speaker E: So this is very different territory for him.
[00:55:55] Speaker A: Yeah, you. This feels like relatively hot deep heartlands Titan Island.
[00:56:01] Speaker E: Oh yeah.
[00:56:02] Speaker A: I mean but you know, by the I I, you know, we should bear in mind that you lot are own. I say only but 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, you, you're only sort of like 10 to 12 miles inland. But I mean that's, you're almost.
You're about a third of the way across. Like if, if you traveled another 24 miles, you reach the other shore kind of thing. So yeah, you are quite deep in it.
How. How are you finding the. The recent revelations?
[00:56:42] Speaker E: Recent revelation?
What in what? Abe having the mysterious family and background and everything else.
I think.
[00:56:52] Speaker A: Did you feel like.
[00:56:54] Speaker E: I feel like Cooper. Yeah, I think he did. It's not like he knows a very well, but you don't exile yourself.
Like he like a lonely man living on his own on an island away from people seems to script dream that maybe he's getting away from people or something else is afoot. It kind of answers the question.
But you know, he doesn't know a very well yet. Perhaps he will talk ask him about it at some point. But it feels like we're gonna find out regardless whether he wants to tell us about it or not.
So he's being respectful and not digging Abel reveal in his own time or his daughter will in this case. So we'll see what what happens.
[00:57:37] Speaker A: Yeah. I can only imagine Abe is sort of like lurking behind the four of you sat down. He's maybe have you. Have you grabbed a seat on a stool that was just sort of like by a watering urn and you're just.
[00:57:50] Speaker C: Yeah, I can race. Kind of.
[00:57:54] Speaker A: Sat in the corner in.
[00:57:55] Speaker C: The corner just like smoking like looking like not looking at Yara but looking at her and then kind of like taking in how much she looks like him and his.
Her mum and just kind of looking at her and then kind of having obviously questions and wanting to ask her things and then just kind of looking down at his like he sees her like looking at her and then he just like looks down at his feet again and just pretends that he's not looking at her and then just looks back again and then just pretends he's just like I don't got no feelings or nothing.
[00:58:38] Speaker A: Okay. So yeah, a Very, very definitively taking the opportunity to light his pipe given that you've lost your. Your flint and stone on the flint.
[00:58:47] Speaker C: Yeah the moment that he's. The moment that he saw that we're in.
He knows. Yeah he knows the fire pits and he's just straight in there.
[00:58:56] Speaker A: Amazing.
Okay. In which case as you as a follow four of you plus I've taken this all in.
Yalna breaks the silence by saying.
I suppose it was only a matter of time before.
Before your explorers came here.
She said, I suppose I suspect you are inquiring you were alerted by the storm.
She says looking to cast and guardi.
What.
What do you hope to achieve here?
How do you. What makes you suspect this storm is anything but us?
[01:00:09] Speaker B: The the air feels wrong.
The trees seem angry or.
Or energized somehow. It's something off here.
You must have felt it.
[01:00:31] Speaker A: Garda you notice as you kind of question question y like you see her shift somewhat like she. Like she's shifting uncomfortably in her throne and it immediately kind of gives you a pang that there's perhaps something else that's not quite right that's happening here.
We have experienced many storms like this and we will weather this one much as we have the others. We all we need do is continue to have faith.
[01:01:24] Speaker B: I am sure your people will make it through this. But if. If we are to help you, if there is anything, you know, it would be a great service to us.
[01:01:40] Speaker A: Yana like Abe, you look up as you. Well, as you're looking at your daughter as G's talking to her.
Perhaps the.
Perhaps it's the paternal bonds but you can see that Yona like she's. Her face says she's clearly struggling with something like she's fighting with something like she opens her mouth and she goes to form words but the noise don't doesn't make it out.
And before she gets a chance to answer you hear the doors to the long to the great hall swing open and a voice echoes like bounce ricochets off the walls on very unlike Yalna's, which she's managed to keep quite kind of contained.
What is this travesty?
You hear?
And there's a shuffle clump shuffle clump shuffle clump and Abe, you're like you feel your the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
What is he doing here?
You hear Malgova demand from the back of the hall, and Yana looks up at I have invited them as guests, Malgulva.
It is only kind that we offer hospitality to dwellers of Dorlisha.
And Abe. You watch as this old this creaky old keeper who's now shrunk down to a mere sevenish foot with her kind of hunched nature.
She kind of drags us. It's almost like she's rowing as she walks, using the stickers and all, but like she gets alongside you and like the look on her face is one of absolute disgust.
Do not remember the meaning of exile, girl, she says, like she spits at Yona, like pointing this kind of cree crooked bony finger in your direction.
And like she carries on shuffling towards the table alongside the the four of the four of you.
I'm sure that your stay here is only fleet, she says to the four of you.
[01:04:38] Speaker C: I think a was like I see spites keeping you alive. Then.
[01:04:48] Speaker A: Like Malva audibly hisses at you and like she turns to to look at the the four of you and I'm surprised you made it this far.
I'm surprised you have not become an appetizer for the creatures of the isles.
When after they finish their meal she says turn turning back to Yana, cast them back out. We do not have enough supplies for this charity, she says.
Is are you all keeping stun or.
[01:05:40] Speaker C: Well, he's got a lot to say, but it depends how.
[01:05:42] Speaker A: Well he's just getting more and more red in the background.
[01:05:48] Speaker F: Griffin is gonna get up.
[01:05:50] Speaker A: He is.
[01:05:52] Speaker F: He's gonna wander over to Abe and he's gonna say hey, are you sure you don't want to eat anything? Like it sounds like they can kick us out. He might.
[01:06:03] Speaker A: It might.
[01:06:04] Speaker F: Might be some help, like it's gonna keep us going.
[01:06:06] Speaker C: Maybe I'll have nothing unless they offer it me.
[01:06:15] Speaker F: Oh I Don't think they're going to do that. How about this? And he. He digs into his.
He digs into his bag and he pulls out the stamina potion that he got from the little outpost and gives that to. And said like, well, you're. You're probably gonna need this more and hands it to you.
[01:06:36] Speaker C: Oh, ruffle is there.
[01:06:41] Speaker F: So you said no asking questions.
What about singing? And before you can even answer, he goes, I just want to say, like, thank you for your hospitality.
There's not much obviously we can repay.
[01:06:57] Speaker A: How about.
[01:06:57] Speaker F: How about a beautiful song to accompany this meal?
And he is going to play a relaxing song to. For. For anyone who has any HP can reclaim a hit point as well.
[01:07:15] Speaker D: None of us are relaxed.
[01:07:20] Speaker A: I will. I will just say what, Nate, while you're punching that through, the, the meal and the chance to sit down like the shelter, if any of you do need it, we can do a short. We can count this as a short rest.
Yeah. So you'll get a couple of. Couple of pips on. I think it's one activity for a short rest, I believe.
[01:07:48] Speaker C: Yeah. You can do one thing.
[01:07:50] Speaker A: So, yeah, if you. If you. Between the five of you, if you want to decide how you wanna. Which activity you'd like to do during your short rest, I would say suggest that projects probably aren't on the menu for this one.
Yeah, you can certainly get back stress or armor or hit points and then we'll. We'll find out what you've done when we next come back to you.
[01:08:11] Speaker F: I think on a short rest you can do two.
And it's only like. It's only like. So unlike a long rest where you can fix all your armor. You can only fix one armor slot.
[01:08:22] Speaker A: Okay. Yes. Yes, this. That sounds all right.
Okay. Well, yeah, say between the. Between the five. If you figure out what. What you want to do, we'll have a little bit of time to figure that out.
Yes.
So, Griffin, what does this song sound like again? Sorry.
[01:08:39] Speaker F: So this. He's going to play a relaxing song.
It will.
It will clear anyone in close range their hit points, which I think is only me and.
And Abe. So we both get one hit point back.
I think he's going to sort of rattle his brain a bit and find a song that he's probably learned from other keepers and play something that they may possibly know.
So it's the very sort of quote, quite stoic, quite slow, but just sort of trying to sort of ease the mood. Not something too upbeat.
[01:09:24] Speaker C: Is it Father and Son by Cat Stevens.
[01:09:28] Speaker A: Exactly that.
[01:09:33] Speaker F: I'm happy to make a presence roll if you want to see how they take it.
[01:09:40] Speaker A: Yeah, you know what? Yeah.
[01:09:46] Speaker B: Let's go.
[01:09:47] Speaker A: It'll be a gauge of just how much of a stink I'll give you.
[01:09:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:09:53] Speaker F: So 16 with hope.
[01:09:57] Speaker A: In which case I would say Griffin, that whilst there is initial, there is an initial birth flurry of emotions aimed in your direction as you start to play this song. But perhaps this is a beautifully well timed performance to just like allow the tensions to simmer down slightly. And you notice like Malgova seemed like a real like from just from, from the minutes that you've known her. You've kind of pegged her as a real piece of work. Like she like her heart seemingly is as gnarled as her to the rest of us.
But like even she like she softens ever so slightly, ever so slightly and sort of like she, she turns to, to Yona and so the, the, the doors to the. The hall reopen and you notice a couple of like hunters. So that these are the, the sort of keepers that were accompanying Yana when they found you. So these kind of flowing robes, there's a like bone whites and kind of dark leathers and you notice that they're sharp shoulder like the bits of armor that they have hanging off various parts of their shoulders, their thighs is made of this same kind of white marbly texture that Jonah's hammerhead appears to be made from.
But yeah, these two kind of defenders like village defenders come in and Malgorva, you're sought after at the, at the pits.
We what You've been summoned to the pits. Malgorva and the old crone just like mutter something under her breath, looks at a mother, something else as her face can thought. And then she turns back to Yana and as soon as they finished she says and then she dun, dun like rows her way out, shuffling along, leaning heavily on her walking stick.
Yeah ya looks to you and it would seem that your time is short.
Your time with us is short.
Would you like to be returned to where we found you or somewhere else?
[01:13:01] Speaker D: How can we talk to the spirits?
[01:13:07] Speaker A: You'll not like.
There's a sudden intake of breath from the young keeper woman as she kind of looks around and like you see her kind of glance sideways to a window to the outside and it's a window where the shutter is kind of blown open and you can hear the sort of like this howling wind that you can hear through it. You can see that there's a patch where the Rains get able to get through onto the stone floor of the hall.
Ever since our.
In recent times we have spent less time speaking to Burunan and Pfizer in lieu of a greater power.
But there are.
There were. There was a location where we could commune with them on the hills to the northwest.
If perhaps you were to head there.
You may.
Perhaps.
Perhaps the.
The spirit stones still stand within a shrine atop.
Atop the. The hill that overlooks the forested valley.
I.
Cass, give me a presence roll, please.
[01:14:57] Speaker D: Where's my presence?
[01:14:57] Speaker B: Am I able to assist on this? Or is this a reactionary one?
[01:15:02] Speaker A: You can.
I guess this would be.
Yeah. Guardi, if you're kind of joining in with Cassandra on the.
How can we speak to them?
Yeah, if you want to help, you can spend a hope and then that will give Cass advantage.
[01:15:22] Speaker D: Kind eyes. Kind eyes, Gardi.
[01:15:27] Speaker B: I'll use clarity of nature to create a space of natural serenity within close range. So like the sound of the whipping wind and the beating rain and stuff subside into sort of the gentle breeze of a plane around those of us who are sitting there.
And I'm hoping that will help somehow.
[01:15:52] Speaker A: Okay.
Have you got our new. Our shiny new macro, Tim, or.
[01:15:56] Speaker B: Oh, maybe I have our shiny new macro.
[01:16:02] Speaker A: Just. Well, while you're searching. It's called hope. It's in the bag of heart folder, but yes. Okay, so with. With the spent hope, Cass, you want to roll a presence with advantage if you've got any experiences.
[01:16:20] Speaker D: I don't think I do.
[01:16:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:16:22] Speaker D: Just hard headed to really ask that question.
[01:16:30] Speaker A: Okay, that. That is fine. A 15. A 15 with fear.
So.
[01:16:36] Speaker B: Oh, and does Cass have any stress?
[01:16:42] Speaker D: Let me check.
I don't. Does she? She might do. Yes. No, she doesn't.
[01:16:50] Speaker B: Ah.
[01:16:50] Speaker A: I.
[01:16:51] Speaker B: Well, I can clear one stress from someone. So if anyone's nearby who wants to clear a stress.
[01:16:55] Speaker A: Has anyone got stress?
Not Abe. That's surprising. Malgulva, you could clear one of her stress.
[01:17:03] Speaker B: I'll.
[01:17:03] Speaker A: I'll.
[01:17:04] Speaker B: I'll clear one from Yarno because it seems like she's having a hard time.
[01:17:07] Speaker A: Sure. Okay.
[01:17:08] Speaker C: Drop in the ocean for Melgor.
[01:17:12] Speaker A: Okay. So on a success with fear.
So.
[01:17:22] Speaker C: Fear.
[01:17:23] Speaker A: Hooray.
Yeah. So you explain says.
You know, explains about these spirit stones in the shrine atop the hill overlooking the forested.
The forested valley.
But then she kind of pauses and you can see that she's like fighting with some kind of internal conflict. And then she says that area is now deemed off limits to the village of Rice Vilna.
So I can afford you no aid in I can offer you no one to go up there. But whilst you are perhaps not privy to the communion rituals of our peoples of our commune, perhaps she. She says, looking at you, Gabby, you might be able to figure it out on your own.
[01:18:30] Speaker B: And who's it, you know? Worship.
[01:18:37] Speaker A: She takes a breath and you watch as she like almost mindlessly places her hand on the head of her warhammer of her maul.
And like, you see her fingers almost sort of like dance across the smooth marbly surface.
We.
We worship the mountain spirits of the south now and thinking about your geography, I mean we. Well you. You all know that the Titan Isles are. Are all mountaintops. That's precisely what they are.
Just kind of the eye basically poke. What's poking out of the sea is the.
These mountains that got dropped in the ocean just kind of compressed into land mass.
But yeah, thinking of the geography, the only quote mountain to the south, if we're not counting do shal being the peak of a mountain, is there is a particularly large peak that juts out of the southeast island that is the closest thing to a mountain on the Titan Isles.
But yeah, Abe, that's.
I don't know. Would. Would.
Would Abe have known about this change of kind of direction in worship?
I guess that might be why the great tension.
[01:20:25] Speaker C: Yes.
Yeah. So Abe is, especially after seeing Mongolva's still alive, that they are still worshipping this other entity.
And he's just shakes his head sort of as she's speaking of it.
And he looks to her and says, well, how is it getting on for you then? Because I do as it.
I mean, it doesn't look like it's going well, does it?
[01:21:13] Speaker A: You say, Mr. Yarner. Sorry.
[01:21:15] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:21:17] Speaker A: She.
Like, she looks to you and there's like you for a moment. You see the look of your child, the look your child gave you when like seemingly asking for help.
Like, you see this kind of vulnerability that you are acutely aware of through her childhood.
And then, and then it sort of like she forcibly washes it away. Washes it look away and replaces it with this like stern, grim demeanor that eerily mirrors that of Malgulva.
As I said, we have weathered storms like this before and we shall do so again.
[01:22:23] Speaker C: So the old standing stones, the whole village ain't allowed up there no more.
[01:22:33] Speaker A: Ever since it was decree heathenistic, we have steered away from them.
[01:22:48] Speaker C: That's Mogova's doing.
[01:22:52] Speaker A: Mova has shown us the. The eminent power of the. Of the Winds of the south.
And through their gift gifts, she says, and you're once again drawn to her fingers dancing across the surface of the Hammerhead. Through their gifts, we are blessed.
It is a shame you could not see the sense of.
Appears that you have finished your meals.
I'm afraid this is not a.
This is not a climate for extended hospitality.
If I. I would strongly suggest you follow the river back south to the shore and return to your return to your town of Dorlishal.
But if you were encouraged to cling to old traditions. She says, looking at you, Abe, you will find the shrine. The shrine to the Titans to the northwest.
I'm sure you remember the way.
Abel, Rick?
Do any of you have any kind of anything left to say?
It sounds like she's kicking you out.
Okay, well, this was a jolly little dinner party that you've all just had.
[01:24:59] Speaker D: We've got several differents.
[01:25:02] Speaker A: Just real quick then what two short rest thingies is Abe taking 10 to wounds clear. Stress repair armor. What are you going for?
Oh, you're muted, I think you said.
Yeah.
[01:25:24] Speaker C: Still muted.
[01:25:25] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. You're not. Now you're good.
[01:25:27] Speaker C: Okay.
Yeah, I'm gonna. One hit point heal, please.
And that's about out all that I need. Unless I can gain a home.
[01:25:42] Speaker A: You can prepare.
[01:25:44] Speaker C: I can prepare.
[01:25:44] Speaker B: To prepare with me.
[01:25:46] Speaker C: I would. I would love. I would jolly love to prepare as.
[01:25:52] Speaker B: We get out of the. As we get out of the tent. Are we preparing under some trees or something?
Yes.
[01:25:59] Speaker F: And I'll.
[01:26:01] Speaker B: I'll take the. The flatbreads out and be like.
Thought you might want a taste at home.
[01:26:07] Speaker C: Oh, that's nice.
[01:26:08] Speaker B: They're yours if you want them.
[01:26:10] Speaker C: Let's get crumped and eat some flatbreads.
[01:26:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:26:12] Speaker C: Love it.
[01:26:14] Speaker B: They're probably going to need them.
[01:26:15] Speaker A: Get.
[01:26:15] Speaker B: When we get the munchies in about.
[01:26:16] Speaker C: 20 minutes when that yellow fruit kicks in for. For Griffin, he's going to be tripping balls.
[01:26:26] Speaker A: Okay, so gym. So Abe is preparing.
So new macro. Hooray.
Oh, I took the wrong person. But Gardi goes up by two. Hope because you're also preparing. So you know, up to five. And Abe goes up to Hope.
Oh, you do it. So you're also up to five. Okay, so Gardi, you are preparing with Abe. What else are you doing?
[01:26:51] Speaker B: I'll take a sec to fix my armor, please.
[01:26:54] Speaker A: Okie dokie, I think.
[01:26:55] Speaker C: Is it 1D4?
[01:26:57] Speaker A: 1D4 plus 2 for your tier.
[01:27:00] Speaker B: Wonderful. Oh, that's potentially a lot of armor.
1d4.
That'll do it.
[01:27:14] Speaker A: Okay.
What's Cooper doing?
[01:27:21] Speaker E: I actually have a question for Cass.
Because if it depends on the answer to the question, I will be able to prepare or not prepare.
[01:27:32] Speaker A: So.
[01:27:34] Speaker E: Cooper will. As. As they're leaving.
Or, like, preparing to leave could be like, you know, that blinking thing.
Like, how. How far can you blink?
Someone, let's say me. How far could you blink?
Like, is there. Is there a limit? Or is it just as far as you can see?
[01:27:54] Speaker D: I am happy to test it for you.
[01:27:57] Speaker E: Sure. Okay.
Because, you know, it might be useful.
And he gestures to his crossbow, and he's got his grappling hook and a rope.
He's like, we could potentially, if we need to get over the trees to view where we're going, you could send me up.
I can use my grappling hook to get myself down.
But a vantage point, perhaps?
[01:28:25] Speaker D: Sounds vaguely dangerous.
I'm willing to do that.
[01:28:31] Speaker E: Not much has changed then.
Okay, see that? That's.
Cooper is preparing to use his expertise to watch out for places of safety or enemies.
[01:28:47] Speaker A: So Cooper is gaining two hope with the macro. Boom. You are now up to six.
[01:28:53] Speaker E: Well, hey.
And I'd like to clear my stress, because I had one stress.
[01:28:57] Speaker A: Okay. Yes. You'll clear that out.
Speaking of, Cassandra, what are your two activities?
[01:29:05] Speaker D: Cassandra will heal her hit point.
Actually, no.
[01:29:10] Speaker A: She will.
[01:29:11] Speaker C: No.
[01:29:11] Speaker D: Heal her armor.
[01:29:12] Speaker F: Sorry.
[01:29:12] Speaker D: She will repair her armor.
I think that's all she needs to do, actually.
[01:29:19] Speaker A: Would you also like to prepare?
[01:29:22] Speaker D: Yes. Trying to look at how she would prepare.
[01:29:29] Speaker F: If you've already prepared with Cooper, then you get together.
[01:29:32] Speaker D: That's true. Yeah.
[01:29:33] Speaker E: Technically. Yeah. The conversation.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:29:38] Speaker A: Okay. So, Cassandra, I'll tack those on for you as well. So you also go up by two. Hope takes you up to four, and you're repairing your armor, so that'll probably take up to four. And last but not least, Griffin.
[01:29:52] Speaker B: There'S.
[01:29:53] Speaker F: Not a lot else I really need to do, so I'm gonna do two prepares.
And they're not really prepares. I think, one, he's gonna feel a little bit more hopeful now that he's sort of performed a song, and he's actually seen some sort of not massively smiling faces, but some agreeable faces. And I think that sort of calms his nerves a bit. It feels a little bit more at home. That sort of, like, his music can sort of come calm the situation.
So that's going to gain him one hope, and then the other hope he's gonna get is from seeing Cooper and Cassandra having a sort of relatively civil conversation.
[01:30:38] Speaker A: Huge, huge gains right there.
[01:30:41] Speaker F: So he's just gonna go.
[01:30:43] Speaker D: And they Slightly slide.
[01:30:49] Speaker A: Okay.
So that gains you to hope as well. Yep.
Okay. Have you got the macro on your.
[01:30:56] Speaker F: I do. Let me see if I can get it working.
[01:31:01] Speaker A: So you gain two and go up to six. Oh, you guys are tanked up. You're gonna be fine for walking back to wherever it is you're walking to.
So with all that in mind, we have our as long rest is done.
Yona thanks you for your time, I guess.
[01:31:26] Speaker C: And.
[01:31:29] Speaker A: As the five of you are led out of the great hall back into the storm, let's grab a quick 10 minute break.
Libby has already done a runner so we'll just.
So we'll join in a second if you are.
Well, thank you for watching. For those of you who are watching, if you are enjoying it, make sure to hit the like button, get involved in chat and then we can. I'll be reading like catching up during the break just to see how you're all getting on. Um, if you are curious about Dagger Heart and want to see if you want to find out more, you can head to the. You can use our affiliate link in the description Ted to drive through RPG to buy a digital copy of the rules. Won't cost you any extra but we'll get a little bit of a kickback.
And if you're interested in elsewhere in general and absolutely subscribe or follow on YouTube or Twitch, but you can also follow the link in the description to join our discord which has now been set up and works.
So yeah, there's going to be lots of sort of like behind more behind the scenesy kind of stuff, little extra tidbits just to kind of color in color in between the lines that we draw in in sessions.
So.
Oh also if you're interested in this and you're enjoying it, this is the final week of nominations for the Crit Award.
So that's also in the description. We are currently nominated for for best game master for Darrington Press, which is basically us lot playing Dagger Heart a little while ago during the beta.
[01:33:01] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:33:01] Speaker A: So if you're enjoying that we would absolutely love votes. That's free to vote. We're in category 12 or 21 of the two.
Right, thank you everyone. We'll see you all in 10 minutes.
Hello and welcome back everyone. Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi. My name is DM Dan.
We are the explorers of elsewhere and we have returned to place for Dagger Heart for your little eyeballs and your little ear holes.
Hello. Well, did everyone have a good tea and wee break?
Lovely, yeah, wonderful. Perfect. We're getting 10 minute breakdown to an art form.
Okay, so we will pick up where. Immediately where we left off with the sounds of the. The doors of the great hall, like, slamming behind you as you are on relatively unceremoniously cast back out into the thunderstorm.
Hello.
Hello. One Boxylama. Yes. The five of you have been, like, pushed back out into the storm.
You can see this village laid out in front of you.
Yana, the. So Abe's daughter, seeming chieftain of this. Of this village.
Yeah, she has.
Well, she has instructed you that you need to leave the island from. You need to return from whence you came, head back south to get to basically sail back to Dorlishal.
Or if you wanted to be naughty, you could go to the.
The shrine to the northwest.
That's at the top of the hill, the top of the top of the ascent overlooking the forested valley.
[01:35:17] Speaker B: We always want to be naughty, Daniel.
[01:35:24] Speaker A: Okay, well, as the sounds of the doors slam shut, are there any.
Are there any little. Little tidbits, any. Any little conversations that are sparking out, I think, about what's just happened?
[01:35:38] Speaker C: Abe says, well, that went better than expected.
[01:35:43] Speaker F: How could it have gone worse?
[01:35:46] Speaker C: Could have been dead.
[01:35:47] Speaker F: Oh, well, that's true. Yeah.
[01:35:51] Speaker B: I. I do feel like this might have been pertinent information at a slightly earlier point, Abe.
[01:35:58] Speaker C: Well, I didn't know we were gonna bump into them, did I?
Go around. I was playing on. Go around. See, I'll go. Go for it. If you guys weren't so bloody noisy going, oh, I'm in a tree. I'm in a tree. We wouldn't have got caught, would we?
[01:36:14] Speaker B: You know what? That. That's fair, actually.
[01:36:19] Speaker A: Good point.
[01:36:22] Speaker C: In the. On the flip side, it's. You guys want to go see. Want to go talk to the guards, don't you? So we can go. Go up near Standstones, have a look, have a chat, go up again.
[01:36:36] Speaker B: I mean, Griffin, you know a lot of stories, right?
[01:36:40] Speaker F: I know a few, yeah.
[01:36:43] Speaker B: In amongst my peop. I. I know a lot as well, but they're all just my people's legends.
I've not heard of people of people choosing only one of the world spirits to worship over and forsaking the others. Usually amongst my people, it's always, you worship all of them. You might slightly favor one, but you don't ban everyone from talking to the others. Is that something you've ever run into?
[01:37:15] Speaker F: Griffin sort of scratches his head trying to really think back, now that you mention it, like, no, like, I mean, like you said, like, they may favor one more but not like.
It's like, if. If they're gonna do that, then they must really.
Like, something must have really good happened with this new God, or something really bad happened with the old ones.
[01:37:47] Speaker C: Or there's a conniving old hag.
[01:37:54] Speaker F: Abe. Abe, was that. Was that your wife?
[01:38:02] Speaker A: I'd like to imagine that laugh was Abe's genuine reaction.
[01:38:07] Speaker F: How old are you? I don't really know how old?
[01:38:14] Speaker C: Jesus.
No.
[01:38:16] Speaker F: You might like older women. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong if you like older women.
[01:38:19] Speaker C: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
She was.
[01:38:25] Speaker D: She's.
[01:38:26] Speaker C: She's been around here for. I mean, I remember her when I was young. Just to give you a bit of context. No, old. That word is.
[01:38:33] Speaker F: Wow, she must be very old.
[01:38:36] Speaker A: I can only imagine, Abe, you were hoping that in the past 18 months or so that she'd popped a death would finally.
[01:38:45] Speaker C: 100%.
No, no, I can't say.
[01:38:50] Speaker A: You can't say. She's looking chipper than ever because, I mean, it looks like she's just fending off Death's advance with that stick she leans on.
[01:38:58] Speaker C: It's just. It's just spite and. And malicious intent that runs through her veins.
That's all that keeps her going ape, ape, ape, ape. Yeah.
[01:39:12] Speaker F: What are the pits?
[01:39:17] Speaker C: Pits?
[01:39:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:39:20] Speaker E: I'll.
[01:39:20] Speaker A: Livia, I'll let you decide what the pits are, bearing in mind what sort of function Malva might have in the Society. Society. And what she would do there.
[01:39:34] Speaker C: Well, you see, if you say anything that Mogova don't like, go in the pit, you go in, pet.
[01:39:43] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Oh, this is. That's a good turn.
Are they underground pits, but are slowly filling with water?
Oh. Oh, well.
Well, you heard it here first, folks.
[01:40:03] Speaker E: I have a question, actually, Abe, the.
What The. The weapons that.
[01:40:11] Speaker A: He's looking at your imaginary watch.
[01:40:16] Speaker E: He was trying to ask you an important question.
He wants to ask about the. Like, the weapons. Like what.
What's they. Do you know, what they're made out of? Like, that kind of marbly stuff is. Is. Do you know what that is? Was that there before you left?
Obviously, it's a damn question.
[01:40:35] Speaker C: But I'm asking, Abe, do I know what that is?
[01:40:42] Speaker A: So I. I think it's fair to say that you. Well, you all noticed the way that Yolna's fingers, you know, played along the surface of that.
How the.
The. The defender. The Guardians were wearing, like, armor made of it.
Abe, You.
Perhaps you've had time to dwell on it, but Certainly now that you've returned, returns to Rice.
Rice Vilna.
Like you've seen the. Like the continuation of what you were basing suspicions on. Because everything started to go a bit wrong when this stone, this marble like substance started to get mined out of the mountain on the southern. On the southeastern aisle.
Like historically that the people of Rice Vilnar never really went to that island because it was just a bit more like dangerous, a bit more wild. But under. Wouldn't you know it, Malver's instruction.
Yeah. Mining of that mountain began.
And this weird. This marble like substance, which is impossibly like hard, that started to come back and then. But hard, but still workable. It's a. It's a bit of a curious. Curious feature.
But yeah, just. It seems like its use has started to creep through more and more of the village. And in fact, looking around, you can see that there are sort of like pots made of it. There's. You can see a weapon stand that the. The spear tips are made of it.
And yeah, it just seems like this. This material is becoming much more prevalent all at seemingly Malgulvason system.
And I guess while Cooper's asking this, Cassandra, perhaps your. With your kind of academic background, it is known.
Well, Ava Moore believes that the Titan Isles is home to two world spirits.
So this.
This like the. The mountain in the south. What is that?
That's not something that's come up in like the records of Avermor, the explorers? No, no.
[01:43:37] Speaker D: In Cass's obsessive research prior to arriving on the island or would have just sailed straight past.
[01:43:44] Speaker A: Interestingly, mo like that is. That's a complete wild card. Oh yeah. We're worshiping the mountain now.
[01:43:51] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:43:52] Speaker A: Like. And you saw the. The hangings of Burunan and Pfizer on the walls?
[01:44:00] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:44:05] Speaker A: Yes. Oh, urgent call.
So, yes, Abe, you're able to relay that information back to Cooper, but yeah, this. This material, this mineral, whatever it is, this marble like substance, mine from the southern mountain.
But there's just. By Abe's reckoning, there's a hell of a lot more of it now than there was when he first left.
[01:44:34] Speaker E: Is it possible for Cooper to have perhaps stolen a spear tip off a weapon stand if he rolls for it on his way out? Discreetly or. No.
[01:44:49] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Sorry. You mean in the very, very recent.
Yeah, sure. Roll me.
I think that's got to be.
[01:45:00] Speaker C: Finesse.
[01:45:01] Speaker A: What is that finesse sound is. I think it's finesse, isn't it?
Yeah. Control height, Tinker. I think it's Gonna be a finesse, Rob.
Finesse that maybe like.
[01:45:14] Speaker E: Can I also add street smarts as it's technically something he would have learned to do on the street.
[01:45:19] Speaker A: Sure, yeah. Hope. And then.
Yeah, well, you. I'll. I'll spend the hope for you.
Thank you.
Down to five.
[01:45:34] Speaker E: And that would be.
Yeah, plus. Plus two.
Plus three for my finesse. So. Yeah. 14 plus two for my street marks. So that's 16.
[01:45:46] Speaker A: The plus three is already in. So.
[01:45:48] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:45:53] Speaker A: So I. I will. With hope. Yeah. You absolutely get away with it. I would argue that perhaps not like a spear, but maybe just some. Just a piece of it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're certainly able to steal away this sort of like white marble, like a.
Maybe it's the tip of a spear. You saw some spear half that hadn't had the spear tips attached yet, and you managed to take one of those away. So you can hold it carefully, almost like a.
Like a dagger of sorts in your hands. It.
I say it's got this, like this almost electric tingle under your fingertips as you. As you sort of play with it in your pocket that you've just swiped it to.
But yeah, it's incredibly smooth. Smooth.
It feels almost glasslike.
And there's you. There's that typical sort of like. As you run your finger along the edge, you do a.
Like, just gently slice into your thumb and.
[01:47:00] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:47:00] Speaker A: Like you just weren't expecting it. It's got the sort of like. It feels like it's brittle, like obsidian.
But based on what Abe said. Told you. Yeah, this thing is really, really durable.
Yeah. In a moment, I will add. Remind me. I'll add a, like, white marble spear tip to your inventory.
[01:47:23] Speaker E: Can I say that no one noticed.
[01:47:25] Speaker A: Me do that as you rolled with hope, so let me have the hope on for you.
So back up to six.
Yeah. Now you got away six scot free.
[01:47:37] Speaker C: Cool.
[01:47:38] Speaker E: Thank you.
[01:47:40] Speaker A: So you're stood in pretty much the middle of Riceville. Nar.
Which way are you headed?
[01:47:51] Speaker C: I mean, regardless of where everyone else wants to go, Abe would like to head towards the standing stones because there's something that he wants to do up there.
[01:48:06] Speaker A: Sorry, say that again. So I was reading.
I apologize.
[01:48:11] Speaker C: Listen to me, Daniel.
[01:48:15] Speaker A: I failed at multitasking.
[01:48:18] Speaker C: I think Abe's just going to assume that they want to go to the standing stones, and he wants to go to the standing stones.
So he kind of nods at everyone and then just starts heading up the path towards where he knows they would. They would be.
[01:48:42] Speaker A: Okay. And I'm guessing the rest of you Have. Well, I assume Cass and Guardi are very much following. Falling behind.
Yeah, cool, cool, cool. Right. So in which case the. Yeah, the four of you gather behind Abe and Abe, you take the group in a northwesterly direction towards where you know this shrine is.
And like Abe's referred to it as the Standing Stones more than a couple of times and I guess we can. Between the five, between the four of you, you kind of perhaps conjure in your minds what an area called the Standing Stones looks like.
But when you arrive and while that's loading Hungry Dragon, as you remember, you gain access to like a members only chat room on the Discord.
So yeah, you can absolutely chat stuff in. Theories, things, jokes, gags, anything in there or in the general chat if you want everyone to get involved. Yeah, jump in links in the description when you join. I'll promote you up to like member status.
Or if you, because you're on YouTube, if you link your YouTube account in to your discount Discord account. I think it then in YouTube lets you jump over something like that.
Jump in and I'll, I'll add you how professionally.
Right, so the five of you.
The track in itself isn't very long. Like it's clear that whilst this area is like it's arguably part of the sort of like the, the grounds of these keepers. But it's not part of the village per se.
But yeah, the five of you find yourselves stood near the bottom of a slope up to this large like flat topped plateau. Well it, it, it's almost mesa like but it's approximately sort of like 15ft to its plateau.
And then you notice that just past it to the right is another plateau that stands about 30ft tall. Another plateau rises behind that. And it dawns on you that the phrase standing stones is literally in relation to these large like stone edifices. Visitors that are kind of jutting out the ground, these natural stone edifices.
And yeah, Abe, looking around you can see that the place is somewhat kind of overrun, untended, a bit unkempt.
Just real quick, who has got. Who will be wielding a light source in this area or who has been wielding a light source. Bear in mind it will probably take up a hand.
I notice that there are torch. There are torches on along the way. You can see that there's a. What appears to be like a little rope bridge connecting one of the standing stones to the next. So there is illumination. But has anyone got a. A lamp? Torch.
[01:52:11] Speaker C: I'll have a torch.
[01:52:13] Speaker E: I can also use a torch because I, my Crossbow I can use one handed.
[01:52:17] Speaker A: So.
Okay.
So.
Okay, so Abe and Cooper will both have torches. So let's make those 2000 and tens.
Okay. And are the rest of you happy to just huddle. Huddle for warmth?
[01:52:41] Speaker B: Sounds good.
[01:52:46] Speaker A: Okay. Doki.
Yeah. Hey, I guess what's the one.
What's one thing that you can immediately see that shows that this place hasn't been looked like entered in a while?
[01:53:06] Speaker C: I think it's.
He knows that there used to be like a well tracked path because they used to go up here all the time. And it is now you can't even see the way that they would have previously come through and up.
So it's overgrown and just completely wild.
[01:53:35] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case you. The two of you are now lanterned.
So as you.
Well, as you begin making your way up, Abe, you know that like immediately in front of you there's the first standing stone. Behind the standing stone is a kind of a line of trees that are, you know, about third, like 25, 30ish feet tall. Like small in the grand scheme of things because there are these towering trees kind of to the left or right that kind of enclose this area somewhat.
But like through gaps in the trees you can see what you know from the standing stones. You're able to see the. The forested veil that has been spoken. And it's literally like a gulch that's teeming with life thanks to the river that runs directly through the gulch and the shrine which stands at the top of the peak of the. The higher standing stone that is. That gives a commanding presence. I've scrolled up now is here. That gives a commanding presence like commanding view of the valley.
Cool. So this is a relatively who's who's taken point.
[01:55:08] Speaker C: I would or Abe. Can Abe see any on the walk up, were there anything like wildflowers or anything like that that could have been picked on the way?
[01:55:26] Speaker A: Roll me a presence.
No sorry. Instinct. Roll me instinct.
[01:55:33] Speaker B: Can I help out with that with my herbalist?
[01:55:38] Speaker A: Oh, you absolutely can because I need it. He is so I'll. I'll lop off a hope for you.
[01:55:46] Speaker B: Much appreciated.
[01:55:50] Speaker C: Is that a 6D6.
[01:55:55] Speaker A: So it's an extra D6.
[01:56:00] Speaker C: Big money.
[01:56:03] Speaker B: That's reasonably large money.
[01:56:06] Speaker A: You.
[01:56:06] Speaker C: I mean, he's with hope.
[01:56:08] Speaker A: Here's with hope.
You don't.
You don't find any wild flowers.
What you do notice is that there.
There are patches of ground where you're expecting these kind of wild like wild flowers to be where it almost looks as if something's been like almost if it's been wrenched out of the ground like a badly harvested carrot, leaving behind these sort of like divots in the earth.
And as you.
Well as you're kind of inspecting this, You look up and.
You rolled it to 11 with hope. Eh?
[01:57:19] Speaker C: You.
[01:57:22] Speaker A: You're looking around Abe, and you turn spy some of these kind of plants beneath the tree in front, in front of you.
And then you can't help but like tilt your head as seemingly like this. This flower that's being kind of hammered by the rainfall just seemingly turns to face.
[01:57:51] Speaker C: Oh.
[01:57:53] Speaker A: And shuffling out from the foliage under the tree come these three like plants that move along on vine like appendages.
And as you. Oh no. Your mind is immediately drawn back to the streets of Dorlishal and.
As well the. The other. All five of you will notice them.
What are your reactions as these plant creatures shuffle out towards you?
[01:58:40] Speaker C: Can I throw my torch at them?
[01:58:44] Speaker B: Can I attempt? Well, if you go to do that, I will attempt to stop you from doing it if I can.
Obviously how successful that is is up to you.
[01:58:57] Speaker C: I mean I us.
I think Abe will just be holding it up as if to throw and then just stop.
[01:59:06] Speaker B: Just a second.
I'd like to use my nature's tongue and have a chat with these little flowers. With these weird little flowers.
[01:59:15] Speaker A: Please. Okay.
Do you have to spend anything for nature's tongue?
[01:59:21] Speaker B: I cost me one hope and I need to make an instinct. Roll 12.
[01:59:29] Speaker A: I'll grab your hope for you while you roll that out.
[01:59:32] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:59:33] Speaker A: Down to three.
Oh.
[01:59:40] Speaker B: 16 hope.
[01:59:42] Speaker A: 16 with hope. So you successfully turn on your nature's tongue.
What is it you're saying? And I think I might be able to hopefully.
Yeah, there they are.
[01:59:58] Speaker B: Oh, nice.
I like them.
So, yeah.
[02:00:05] Speaker A: What is it you say?
[02:00:07] Speaker B: We have come to speak with the. With the world spirits.
Will you let us pass.
[02:00:14] Speaker A: The trif. The. The plant like creatures like turn and like they shudder almost like their petal. Their leaves kind of wave it like swirling around or sort of like their stalks bending under the the like the assault from the. The storm.
And Gardi, the response doesn't seemingly come from either of these three creatures in front of you, but instead seemingly pulling like you watch the tree behind them begin to shake. Like the branches sway harder and like leaves flutter down and are immediately blown away in the stormy winds.
And what appears to be a chunk of the. Of the trunk rips itself away from the tree.
And you watch as the ground under this masses feet churn and this oxen like skull begins like emerges from the dirt and travels up through its body until it comes to rest in a pseudo head like space.
[02:01:32] Speaker B: Sick.
[02:01:36] Speaker A: And I'm a big fan of the wheeled walker in front of you. You fellows, this is sacred ground.
You've come here to die.
Who's going first?
[02:01:59] Speaker E: What did he say?
[02:01:59] Speaker A: What did he say?
[02:02:07] Speaker F: I was gonna say upon hearing burn them, Griffin sort of panics after seeing like this thing go, ah, like this thing come out.
I would like to cast wall of flame if I can.
[02:02:19] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Between us and them.
Wall of flame. Very good. How long. How does it say how long wall of flame is?
[02:02:27] Speaker F: Well, I have to make a spell cast roll.
[02:02:29] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:02:30] Speaker F: 15 and more and I on a success.
Let me go.
[02:02:35] Speaker A: Let me see if I can.
[02:02:37] Speaker F: I don't know if I've got like a spell cast roll. I think it's just normal roll and then add.
[02:02:44] Speaker A: Let's just look.
[02:02:50] Speaker F: I don't think I've got like a. Oh, spellcast roll is plus three. So it's just a roll plus three.
[02:02:57] Speaker A: So it'd be your presence probably, or your.
[02:03:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[02:03:06] Speaker F: It'S a 15 plus three. So. Yes, that beats it.
[02:03:10] Speaker A: 15 plus three with Hope. Okay, so on a success, create a wall between two points within far range.
So is it just completely cutting like a wall of flame right along the middle?
[02:03:27] Speaker F: He doesn't like in the panic, he doesn't even get his concertina out. He just goes, ah. And he just sort of reaches out his hands and. And casts this magic flame wall right between them.
[02:03:38] Speaker A: Okay, so this wall of flame pops out of the ground and the like the plants shriek slightly as they retreat from it.
Anything else, Griffin? No.
[02:03:59] Speaker F: Okay, you wanted fire.
[02:04:03] Speaker A: Who's up next?
[02:04:05] Speaker B: I think I'll turn to Cooper and say, how are you at climbing?
[02:04:12] Speaker E: Not too bad.
What are you thinking?
[02:04:15] Speaker B: Great.
I will cast towering stork.
So a big old. A big old jack in the beanstalk ass stork is gonna burst out of the ground kind of roughly just next to where withstanding I'll be like.
Should be able to see over the flames from there.
[02:04:48] Speaker F: Nice one.
[02:04:49] Speaker E: Yeah, absolutely.
Cooper will either like, he'll offer out his torch or he will leave his torch where he is. I'm pretty sure the wall of flame is going to illuminate the. The creatures.
[02:05:03] Speaker A: Yeah, he's going to climb.
[02:05:04] Speaker E: Climb the stalk.
[02:05:05] Speaker A: Sorry, where's this stalk stalk growing, Tim?
[02:05:08] Speaker B: Oh, sort of there.
[02:05:10] Speaker A: Okay, how big is it roughly?
[02:05:13] Speaker B: It can grow up to far range. So I guess however far far is pretty far.
[02:05:18] Speaker A: Pretty far. That's like 60ft. Okay.
Okay. Right, so we've got a big old wall of flame. Not. Not well, we have got wall of flame, but a big old stalker. That's the. The green circle just there.
[02:05:36] Speaker E: Can I just double check how tall it will get to? Because I'm just curious if, for example, I fall off it, how much damage I will then take? So how tall will it be?
[02:05:46] Speaker A: I would argue that it can grow up to approximately 60ft.
[02:05:50] Speaker E: Okie dokie.
[02:05:51] Speaker B: I wouldn't recommend falling off it.
[02:05:53] Speaker C: Don't have to go all the way to the top if you don't want.
[02:05:55] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll climb. So I have a good run vantage point. So above the wall of flame.
[02:06:03] Speaker A: So did you mark stress? Oh, Tim, if you rolled me a spell cast roll.
[02:06:10] Speaker B: Oh, wait, that's only if I'm using it for murder with.
[02:06:13] Speaker A: Okay, cool. In which case. So you've. You've conjured that. Is there anything else you're doing before.
[02:06:23] Speaker B: Yeah, I'll just, I'll just spread out a bit, I guess, to sort of. Okay, where's my drago?
[02:06:31] Speaker C: There you are.
[02:06:36] Speaker A: Okay, so as you spread out, we'll pass over to Cooper.
[02:06:41] Speaker E: Yeah.
[02:06:42] Speaker A: Okay, so you're going 60ft up? Yeah.
[02:06:45] Speaker E: No, no, not 60ft.
Nice try, Dan.
[02:06:51] Speaker C: Nice try.
[02:06:52] Speaker E: I'm gonna climb just high enough to be able to get over the wall of flame and take a shot with my crossbow.
Could I argue that it's dark and I'm hidden in a stalk, that I am cloaked or not?
This is the question.
I'd roll for it in D and D. I can't roll through.
[02:07:16] Speaker A: I. I think so.
[02:07:18] Speaker E: And I'm gonna stalk.
[02:07:21] Speaker A: I mean, for the stalk to be able to reach 60ft or not immediately topple over.
I.
If you're only going high enough to be able to see over the flaming wall, then I will suggest that you don't. You probably won't need to climb to get high enough so you can just clamber up to, say, 15ft.
[02:07:42] Speaker E: Yeah, sure.
[02:07:44] Speaker A: So I believe you are now 15.
I'll set you to be 15ft tall and then, yeah, you've got enough kind of girth of the.
The vine that you can hide behind and then like lean around and shoot with.
I will suggest, however, that you are now torchless.
That's fine.
[02:08:06] Speaker E: Yeah, I, I would assume that I'd have put. Given. Either given the torch or dropped it so someone could pick it up.
[02:08:15] Speaker F: Okay.
[02:08:16] Speaker E: Okay, roll for crossbow.
[02:08:26] Speaker A: 17 with hope you guys are bossing it. That who are you shooting at by the way?
[02:08:32] Speaker E: I'm shooting at the big guy.
[02:08:33] Speaker A: The big guy. Big guy. Oh, what did the big guy do to you? Yes, that is big enough a roll. So please roll for Deange.
[02:08:42] Speaker E: So damage and then add my sneak attack on top, please.
So yeah. 7.
[02:08:53] Speaker A: 11 damage.
So as you lean around and fire this crossbow bolt, it soars through the air and thunks into the wield walker's torso. It rocks slightly, letting out this low grumbling.
And that is.
You take a moment to see how well you've done and then you realize that perhaps that was only minor damage.
Sure, sure.
Cool.
So you will gain a hope. But you're currently maxed out. I am going to spend a fear to drop down to six. And I'm now going to activate the wheeled walker who having just been struck by the crossbow.
So you've just conjured this wall of fire, eh?
[02:09:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
Oh God. He's got a gun.
[02:09:59] Speaker F: He's got a gun.
[02:10:00] Speaker B: Oh no.
[02:10:03] Speaker A: The world walker like through like you can see through the.
You can see through the wall.
But Griffin, what you weren't expecting is the wheel walker to take a few lumbering steps forward. And then it takes. It lifts one hand up and then effect. It looks like he's punching the ground.
And moments later the ground under your feet erupts as vines burst up from the ground and ground grab you.
And I'm going to roll a 15 to hit. Yep, that hits. Okay, you take 11 damage.
[02:10:57] Speaker F: Okay, I will.
Unless you want to add anything more to that.
[02:11:02] Speaker C: Well, I think he's going to be dragging you through that wall of flame.
[02:11:05] Speaker F: So I'm gonna use an armor slot to take that down to minor damage. So I sure HP for that.
[02:11:13] Speaker A: Sure. No, that is fine. I will then spend an additional fear to drop me to five. And yeah, it's almost.
Livy's got a good idea of this.
It's going to drag you to melee range.
[02:11:31] Speaker C: Oh no.
[02:11:33] Speaker A: And you watch as like this vi. These Vi. You realize it's the wheeled walker's hands. That's just like extent. Like it extended and kind of grappled throughout the ground. And like the ground is churning as it pulls you towards the flame. And you all watch as Griffin disappears through the flames into melee range.
[02:11:57] Speaker F: I do then have to to take.
[02:12:01] Speaker A: Four D10 plus three. Oh.
Oh no.
Four.
10 plus three plus three.
[02:12:15] Speaker C: You made your bed.
Oh, burning it.
[02:12:19] Speaker A: That's a 26.
[02:12:23] Speaker F: I mean it could have been worse.
I will spend another armor slot and I will just take two HPs. So I'm down to four hit points.
[02:12:34] Speaker A: Now as Griffin just sort of goes, guys.
[02:12:39] Speaker B: I feel like your wall of flame. Let's go. Might have been premature.
[02:12:48] Speaker A: Okay.
And it was, wasn't it? It. It worked for my abilities perfectly.
[02:12:57] Speaker D: Your own wall of flame.
[02:13:02] Speaker A: And yeah, Griffin, you were sort of like slightly singed from. Well, very singed from your. From your flames.
The vines kind of wrap around you and your. Oh, your arms kind of crush into your torso as this thing sort of like lifts you up and the. The. Like the vines and roots that encompass what is effectively its shoulders, they reach round and kind of encase you cocoon like on the back of its neck, allowing its hands to be free. So you are. If you are restrained until someone bonks this wheeled walker for a lot of damage or you escape.
I'm done pretty much. Who else wants to go?
[02:13:45] Speaker C: Are you able to not fall a flame?
[02:13:50] Speaker A: I don't think I can at the moment.
[02:13:54] Speaker B: He's quite busy.
[02:13:58] Speaker C: Can't drop concentration. Okay.
[02:14:01] Speaker A: I. I would argue if you want to drop it, you like because you're fine fundamentally concentrating on it. Right. So yeah, if you did need to drop it, you can.
[02:14:10] Speaker D: I mean if you. If we wanted to team up, Cass can blink you.
[02:14:17] Speaker C: Okay. So yeah, all of everything I do involves hitty close range.
[02:14:26] Speaker D: I can get you through it without.
[02:14:32] Speaker C: End. Other end of this firewall just like.
No, no hit. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do.
[02:14:41] Speaker A: Okay, so is a taking the turn and cast spending three hope to blink.
[02:14:47] Speaker D: If that helps. Because you can hit the most. You can do the most hitting.
[02:14:52] Speaker A: Cuz I think with blink. Yeah you do have to make the spell cast roll. So if we queer tag teaming will take the best role from the two of you for the hit the. The blinkingness.
But then it would just be the one roll of damage to sound good.
[02:15:11] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:15:12] Speaker C: Yep.
[02:15:12] Speaker A: Okay cool. So I'll gobble up three of Cassandra's hope.
And yeah, if the two of you roll. Well, I guess Cassandra, if you. Hey what. What's your plan when you get to the other side?
[02:15:28] Speaker C: Hit.
[02:15:30] Speaker A: Okay cool. So if you.
If you roll your axe, you roll your spell cast, then we'll take. We'll use those two rolls for this tag team.
[02:15:40] Speaker D: Okay, so my spellcast is it's instinct snip roll.
[02:15:45] Speaker A: Correct. Yeah.
So I'm assuming we're going to use Abe's 20 with Hope.
Okay, so I'll tick up Abe for a hope. Oh, nope, that was wrong way. Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. That one. That one. So Abe gains a hope and goes up to six and Cassandre, where would you. If you plonk yourself down where you'd like to teleport to and then we'll move Abe to you as well.
[02:16:16] Speaker D: I suppose I will. We'll stick ourselves down.
I'll say here in between these.
[02:16:26] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:16:27] Speaker D: Does that sound like a good. Yeah.
[02:16:29] Speaker A: Which case, Abe, you materialize next to Cass in between the. The triffid and the wield walker.
What's what next?
[02:16:44] Speaker C: I'm. I would like to roll to Thunk him.
[02:16:48] Speaker A: Oh, wait, you already. You've. You've already.
[02:16:50] Speaker C: I've already rolled to thunk.
[02:16:51] Speaker A: 20. 20 with hope. 20 with hope is a hit. Please roll for Dimash.
[02:16:57] Speaker C: Nice.
Wait a minute. Let me get.
The 16, please.
[02:17:14] Speaker A: 16 damage is major damage.
Okay. So the walker loses two hit points.
[02:17:32] Speaker C: Oh, so can I become unstoppable?
[02:17:35] Speaker A: You may.
You may. So yeah. Well, meter to one.
[02:17:41] Speaker C: Thank you.
[02:17:42] Speaker A: And we'll adding the plus one on still major damage.
[02:17:48] Speaker C: It's gonna be 17. Cool.
[02:17:50] Speaker F: Yeah.
[02:17:50] Speaker C: I'm gonna absolutely thwack the. I've. I think we've learned hitting trees.
If you hit them hard enough, people pop out.
So I think Abe is attempting to hit it and hopefully hit some binds. He's trying to hit around.
Not hitting Griffin, but around where Griffin might be.
[02:18:19] Speaker A: So as you take a swing, like aiming to try and get Griffith Griffin out. The wheel walker moves in such a way that the blow like digs deep your.
You know, your wood cutting axe bites deep into its torso, but it's moved in such a way that Griffin is still constrained.
You feel like you might need to do severe damage.
[02:18:44] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:18:44] Speaker A: To this thing to force it to release.
[02:18:49] Speaker C: Cool.
[02:18:50] Speaker A: So with that said, Cass, you're suddenly right in the thick of it. So I reckon it's your turn next.
[02:18:58] Speaker D: I was on mute.
Yes.
How much. How much of anything do I have left?
Can I do preservation blast?
I can.
I will do a preservation blast in that case. Because I've got several enemies around me.
They need to be within melee range of me.
[02:19:21] Speaker A: There's two.
Two triffids and the wheel Walker.
[02:19:27] Speaker C: Cool.
[02:19:27] Speaker D: I will target them.
[02:19:30] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:19:30] Speaker D: So I need to do a spell cast roll against all enemies within melee range on this.
I'll click it.
Yeah. They'll defy succeed. They'll be held into far range and dealt with D8 plus 3 damage.
[02:19:43] Speaker A: Okie dokie.
Please roll me an instinct.
20 with fear. So I gain a fear, go up to six.
That 20 is enough to it. Well that's enough. Enough to hit. So if you roll D8 plus three.
[02:20:10] Speaker D: Uhhuh. Where's my D8?
[02:20:14] Speaker C: Oh wait, is that.
[02:20:16] Speaker D: I think that's five.
[02:20:21] Speaker A: Five damage. Okay, so the triffid to your immediate left is blown backwards.
And like Cooper, from your vantage point, you watch it. This plant like creature is incinerated as it passes through the wall of flame. So it's just like ash, that wet ash that flies through the other side. So that is kaput.
The other one, you blast it back to far.
Okay. It goes soaring right off the edge of the standing stone and just disappears.
[02:20:59] Speaker C: And.
[02:21:02] Speaker A: The wheeled walker directly away from you.
[02:21:08] Speaker D: Throw it off a cliff with Griffin.
[02:21:12] Speaker A: God.
[02:21:15] Speaker F: Been nice.
[02:21:20] Speaker A: I. You know what? As a fear. As my fear move, I am going to have it launch.
It blasts through the tree and disappears down into.
Yeah, disappears like. Like you just watch Griffin get hurled along with the wheel walker off into the distance.
[02:21:52] Speaker C: Poor Griffin, he's been dragged through flames.
He's been hurled off a cliff.
[02:21:59] Speaker A: So I have now decidedly split the party.
[02:22:06] Speaker C: The party of us. And then Griffin. Griffin the world walker, his new best friend.
[02:22:14] Speaker A: Yes, the party is now split. So where.
[02:22:20] Speaker C: Who.
[02:22:22] Speaker A: So as Griffin disappears, who's going next?
[02:22:28] Speaker B: I'll. I'll look up to kick and be like can you see where it went?
[02:22:34] Speaker E: Can I see where Griffin went? From my vantage point.
[02:22:40] Speaker A: You see that the wield walker is for some reason the token's not moving. It's being very mean.
Hang on, hold.
[02:22:52] Speaker F: I just thought it was too dark.
[02:22:53] Speaker A: So I couldn't see it.
I'll just paste it. There we go. Right. The wheel walker down there with you.
How so you did five damage to it. That is minor damage as well. I'll just attack that on real quick.
So the wheeled walk has been blasted backwards through this tree like into the darkness. And Griffin, you're sort of like your. Your vision is pretty set because you're like roped in as you just.
Yeah. As you launch with this tree, you tumble off the side of the standing stone. But the witch walker manages to like drag a trench down the side of the the standing stone to sort of like hold on. It is now kind of hold like it's dangling over this 15 foot precipice.
So you know it's not a big drop, but it is still a drop that will hurt if it drops and lands on you.
But Cooper, you can absolutely see like you can see the devastation. You can see this will Walker hanging over the edge.
Ken.
[02:24:06] Speaker E: So I'll shout down Scott he's like. I can see him. He's over that way. Can. Can you make this thing travel that way?
[02:24:13] Speaker A: Can.
[02:24:13] Speaker E: Is there any. Anything you could do to make your stalk grow that way?
[02:24:18] Speaker B: Just a plan, I'm afraid.
[02:24:22] Speaker E: God's sake.
[02:24:24] Speaker A: You know, if you get high enough cooperation, you reckon, like the higher you go, the more this vine is swaying in the storm. So you could time it to then leap over the wall.
[02:24:38] Speaker E: Let's. Let's try that.
[02:24:40] Speaker B: Hold on.
Before you go.
Can you fling me?
[02:24:47] Speaker A: What?
[02:24:47] Speaker B: And I'll. I'll jump onto this. I'll start climbing up the stalk. And as I climb, I'm like.
My skin is hardening into rocky scales and I'll turn into whatever creature Dan has got as the armored sentry. Please.
[02:25:07] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
We'll find that your armored sentry is.
Transformed.
A turtle.
[02:25:24] Speaker B: Amazing. All right.
So as I. Yeah. They scramble up towards you. My arms are getting short.
[02:25:31] Speaker C: Just your neck going in.
[02:25:33] Speaker B: So I can. I can spend a stress to allow an ally to launch or throw me at an adversary.
You make an attack. Keep roll using your agility or strength against a target within close. So I guess if the wheeled walker is then maybe that guy. If not, just whatever you're gonna hit. Just. Just. Just love me.
[02:25:57] Speaker A: I'm thinking that this is sounding kind of tag teamy.
[02:26:00] Speaker E: Yeah, I agree. Yeah.
[02:26:02] Speaker B: Three. There's the.
[02:26:03] Speaker A: If there's the sweet. Like Cooper's using his body weight to swing this vine, this stalk to leap over.
[02:26:11] Speaker F: What?
[02:26:11] Speaker A: Whilst also in midair. Oh, yeah, that should you look Ash. Catch him throwing a pokeball. Just putting a good old bit of spin on you.
Okay, so who wants to spend the 3? Hope.
[02:26:27] Speaker E: I can spend X I got and I haven't.
[02:26:29] Speaker B: Okay, that'd be great. Yeah. I haven't got a ton.
[02:26:33] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[02:26:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
My stress off.
[02:26:37] Speaker A: Okay. So yeah, if coop. I'll need an agility role.
[02:26:47] Speaker E: Could I argue that I could spend a hope to add lucky devil.
Because this feels like a very lucky situation.
[02:26:54] Speaker A: Absolutely.
You absolutely can. So hang on. Let me deduct the three for the tag team and then the level one for the experience. So you're down to two.
[02:27:06] Speaker E: Okay. So that would be agility plus two.
Let's roll that normal.
[02:27:13] Speaker B: So the adversary will take D12 plus two physical damage using the thrower's proficiency.
[02:27:20] Speaker E: So that was a 20 with hope.
[02:27:26] Speaker A: So you absolutely 20 with hope. So you go back up. I hope.
So you're back up to three. So you managed to use the momentum of the.
Of the stalk being swayed around in the storm to leap over the flaming wall.
I think that was, like, part one of the plan, Right? So how. How does. Is it cannonball?
Yeah, that's to allow an ally to throw or launch you. Okay, sure, I will. You know what? Because it's a tag team, Tim, if you roll the agility or strength, inverted commas just to give yourself something to roll. And then we'll take the 20 with hope and yours to see which is a better result.
[02:28:18] Speaker B: Yeah, Sound.
[02:28:25] Speaker A: Okay, so 20, please. We'll take the 20 with Hope. Okay, so yeah, Cooper games thing. And Cooper, in which case, as you swing and this turtle with a little crystal horn shower that used to toss me.
[02:28:39] Speaker C: Don't tell the elf.
[02:28:40] Speaker A: Like, at the sort of. Like, at the optimal point, you sling this turtle and Guardi, you.
[02:28:47] Speaker E: You.
[02:28:50] Speaker A: Go flying towards this world walker that's got Griffin in his back.
[02:28:59] Speaker B: I'm going to Mario Kart this fool. Just blue shell the hell out of him.
[02:29:04] Speaker A: Please, Please roll me. So it's 2D12 plus 2. Because it uses your proficiency, and you can spend a hope if you want to also hit Griffin.
[02:29:17] Speaker B: I'm actually all right. I think want to keep the hope.
[02:29:21] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:29:22] Speaker B: TD 12.
[02:29:23] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[02:29:29] Speaker B: Plus.
[02:29:32] Speaker D: 2.
[02:29:40] Speaker A: Oh, that's not bad.
[02:29:41] Speaker B: 18 damage.
[02:29:42] Speaker A: 18 damage.
Juicy.
That is so that, like, collides.
You collide with the bone, like, the animal skull that the wheel walker is using as a head. And you hear as your kite in a shell, like, hits. Is it? Is it?
[02:30:02] Speaker B: No, it's actually like, it's bone.
Yeah, it's their bones.
[02:30:07] Speaker A: As your shell connects with the skull of the creature, you hear a crack, and a good, like, third of the skull, like, shatters and, like, falls away, revealing these sort of, like, grasping.
These sort of, like, grasping vines that look more like scrabbling fingers that are, like, seemingly holding the skull in place.
18 damage is major damage.
It takes a further two.
And Guardi, as you sort of, like, ricocheting, kind of land precariously on the side of this standing stone, you can see Griffin is still sort of, like, getting waterboarded by the storm on this creature's back.
But you notice that the. The form of the.
Of the wheel walker is starting to unravel.
I'm going to somewhat cheekily just quickly snap in and Cooper, as you can land, like, having just hurled Guardi as a turtle next to you, this little triffid, like, runs up to you and.
Yeah, 13 to hit.
[02:31:35] Speaker E: No, doesn't hit. My age is 17.
[02:31:39] Speaker A: You managed to duck out the way as this thing swings Its like stem like appendages at you.
Yeah, that's my turn. Who would like to go next?
Maybe so gone.
[02:31:55] Speaker C: How close am I? Is it quite easy for me to get to the within?
Can I get past this tree to get to the precipice of this?
[02:32:04] Speaker A: Yeah, the tree's been sort of like where a big chunk of it was removed. When this creature removes itself from the trunk and like the rest of the trees, almost sort of like cracking and bowing where this thing collided through it. Thanks to Cass's preservation blast. But for all excellence and purposes, you can see this wheel walker on the other side.
[02:32:23] Speaker C: I came.
Oh, I'm locked.
[02:32:29] Speaker A: Are you now?
Are you looking to move up? Yeah.
[02:32:34] Speaker C: Yes, please.
[02:32:35] Speaker A: Go, go, go, go, go. Okay. So as you move. Move up, you find yourself looming over the wheeled walker.
[02:32:48] Speaker C: Fab. Can I see Griffin?
[02:32:53] Speaker A: You can. Yes. Okay, Nate, for our. For our imaginative purposes, what cries for help is Griffin making right now?
He's just.
[02:33:08] Speaker F: He's probably going like, guys, like, can you wait until I. Until I get out of this before you hit him anymore? It's like I'm at all.
[02:33:19] Speaker E: I really don't want him to fall on me.
[02:33:22] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:33:23] Speaker A: With that in mind. Dave, what are you doing?
[02:33:26] Speaker C: I'm hitting him.
[02:33:28] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay. Please roll to hit. I will give you advantage because this thing is currently holding on with one hand kind of thing.
[02:33:40] Speaker C: I am going to Mufasa the out of this guy.
So let's go this one.
[02:33:50] Speaker A: But presumably instead of the claws into Mufasa's paws, it's your ax into Griffin to fish about.
[02:34:02] Speaker C: Maybe we fishing Griffin.
[02:34:10] Speaker A: A 13 with a 13 with fear.
[02:34:16] Speaker C: Oh, it does. Okay.
Fab.
[02:34:20] Speaker A: Oh, you have you to keep it as a fear.
[02:34:24] Speaker C: I can't do much about that.
So. Yeah.
[02:34:32] Speaker A: Haven't we got the.
[02:34:35] Speaker C: Oh, no, no.
[02:34:36] Speaker A: It's someone else.
[02:34:37] Speaker C: Okay, I know what you're thinking, and it's not.
[02:34:40] Speaker B: I don't. The fearless tortoise. It's me.
[02:34:46] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. If I could get you to roll damage, please, Abe.
[02:34:50] Speaker C: Yes, you can.
Oh, I was gonna do something. Sorry. Can I.
I forgot I have the ability. Versatile fighter. I can mark a stress.
And one of my damage dice can be max damage.
[02:35:09] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:35:11] Speaker C: So one's gonna be automatically an eight.
[02:35:17] Speaker A: Okay. So tell you what. Odd or even for the first or second of your rolls.
Even so.
So your first dice was an 8, and then your second dice was a 3. So that's 11 plus 3. 14. So 14 damage instead of 7.
[02:35:38] Speaker C: Can I also headbutt it?
[02:35:39] Speaker A: You can.
So I should Also add, you're now up to two on your unstoppable.
So it's 40. So you're already at 14. 16 plus.
[02:35:50] Speaker C: Plus an extra D6.
[02:35:58] Speaker A: 16. 22.
[02:36:03] Speaker C: Anything else?
No, that was. That's. That's it.
[02:36:07] Speaker A: 22 is major damage.
[02:36:12] Speaker B: Ah.
[02:36:14] Speaker A: And as you bring your ax down, the wheeled walk brings its, like, arm up to shield itself, and your. Like the arm folds under the weight of your ax, and the ax embeds into the sort like the neck of the wheeled walker. As it screeches, the vines around you, Griffin, like, unfurl. And like, as I spasm wildly, you are about to tumble out.
Living rolled with fear. So I'm gonna take my fear token.
I'm gonna throw this immediately to you, Griffin, for a reaction roll to try and extract yourself and not be carried down the drop with the wheel walker.
Which ability would you like to use to try? And I'm imagining it's got to be agility.
[02:37:15] Speaker F: Yeah. I'll roll an agility then.
[02:37:17] Speaker A: Okay.
Come on.
Ten with hope.
Would.
Is anyone looking to help?
[02:37:39] Speaker B: I've got no hands.
[02:37:41] Speaker C: I mean, I've got to help. I'm happy to.
To throw in.
[02:37:46] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:37:47] Speaker B: If, like, if. If Griffin's coat is close enough that I can grab it with my little teeth.
[02:37:52] Speaker E: I'm not close enough.
[02:37:57] Speaker A: I will say that we've forgotten to hand out rally dice for this session.
[02:38:03] Speaker F: Yes.
[02:38:05] Speaker A: Would you like to use a rally dice? I will rally myself.
What have you got, Georgia?
[02:38:10] Speaker D: I've got flight. I can. Cass can fly.
[02:38:14] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:38:16] Speaker D: No longer blink. I don't have enough hope, but I do have flight.
[02:38:19] Speaker C: We might.
[02:38:20] Speaker A: Well, let's see. Let's see.
[02:38:22] Speaker D: That's gonna send both of us tumbling down into this. It's not gonna help.
[02:38:27] Speaker A: Okay, so as this. As this world. Walker disappears off into the. Into the foliage of the trees beneath.
Yeah. Griffin rolls. Roll your D6. Is it D6 rally? Yeah.
13.
Does anybody want to help?
[02:38:48] Speaker C: I'm more than happy. Ava's got. Ava's got a shield. He can.
[02:38:53] Speaker A: He can throw it at him.
[02:38:56] Speaker C: Throw at him to hold on to. He can hold on to the end of a ax and grab my.
[02:39:04] Speaker B: Swing me at him. And I'll try. I'll try and I'll try and get him in my teeth.
[02:39:07] Speaker F: I don't mind if it's. If it's the roll of the dice.
I have to tumble to my fate.
[02:39:16] Speaker A: I mean, it's a 15 foot drop. Let me just clarify. It's a 15 foot drop.
It's like those things where you're holding on and you're like, oh no, I can't let go. Your feet are just above the ground.
Abe, I've just deduct. I've just deducted your hope.
So please roll me a D6 to add to Griffin's 13.
16.
Griffin. As you. You find the. The. The vine sort of like unwrapping around you and you are able to like free yourself. And as the creature's tumbling, you're a. You.
You have to sort of like run across its back. Like pick yourself up and crawl, slash, run across its back as it's tumbling underfoot. And then you're able to leap.
But then you realize you haven't quite got the height until the. The enormous arm of Abe comes soaring out the and grabs you and with a heft you are swung back up onto the ledge alongside.
[02:40:27] Speaker C: I just hold him like a baby girl.
[02:40:30] Speaker A: Okay, you have. You have saved Griffin.
I'm going to cut to Cassandra.
Cooper is currently being molested by a trifid.
[02:40:48] Speaker C: Again.
[02:40:51] Speaker D: So I'm just seeing where everyone is busy looking at my stats.
So is. Is the. Is the weed world Walker Worldwalker is kaput.
[02:41:02] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean let me just delete this tree wall so you can see everyone because the trees effectively not there anymore.
[02:41:10] Speaker D: Okay. Okay, cool.
In that case, if.
If that's. That's fine over there. Castle, get alimony out.
Pretend she hasn't just almost flung a man to his doom or sprained ankle and she's going to take a shot at this. This Triffard.
[02:41:34] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Roll to hit.
[02:41:38] Speaker D: I think this is that.
[02:41:40] Speaker C: Yep.
Crit.
[02:41:46] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case we. We won't need the damage roll.
Cooper, as you sort of like you take a step back as this thing of just plant like creature. It's only sort of like two and a half, three foot tall all but it like launches at you. You duck out the way and you watch as it sort of like compresses and then springs up towards you.
And like you can see that there's thorns all along the face of its leaves. That and the. The leaves are sort of like snapping at you like a radial jaw.
And as it leaps towards you and you realize you've got. Got no more like plateau to walk on before you drop.
The creature then explodes in a.
But there's a. There's a crack and there's an explosion. You're splattered with SAP and like plant fluid and bits of leaf as like as you like wipe the. The mulch away from your eyes.
I can only Assume Cassandra stood there smoking gun style.
And Cooper, you like. How does it feel to look down the barrel of your person, of your pistol?
[02:43:10] Speaker E: I don't. I.
It's kind of hot, to be honest.
Cooper's like, many emotions, but just. Oh, okay.
[02:43:24] Speaker A: Amazing.
[02:43:24] Speaker E: Thanks.
[02:43:26] Speaker A: In which case, as the triffid detonates, the three. The three of you by the ledge managed to kind of get more central.
Yeah, there's still the wall of fire behind you and Abe, you and the others now find yourselves at the start of the first sort of like, rope bridge over to the next plateau.
So let me update your heights all real quick.
[02:43:55] Speaker B: May I turn back into a lad, please?
[02:43:58] Speaker A: You may.
[02:43:59] Speaker F: Am I still being carried by Abe?
[02:44:02] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:44:03] Speaker A: Okay.
Gives you a little bit of extra height.
[02:44:07] Speaker C: It doesn't trust you. You made a firewall, got dragged through it, and then fell off a cliff.
You're in air jail at the moment.
[02:44:15] Speaker B: I'll motion to Abe to, like, hold Gryffon in my direction and then put a hand on you, and you'll see some of your flesh, like, almost turn into, like, vines itself and start to, like, writhe and knit back together.
So I will cast renewal.
She isn't technically a spell, I think. Let me find it.
Regeneration.
Do we have regeneration anywhere, dad?
[02:44:51] Speaker A: Hang on. Sorry, say again.
[02:44:53] Speaker B: I'm trying to find regeneration.
[02:44:55] Speaker A: Oh, here it is.
[02:44:56] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, you can clear one D four hit points.
[02:45:00] Speaker A: Okay. So if you quickly roll that up now.
[02:45:04] Speaker B: And that cost me three hope. My goodness.
[02:45:07] Speaker F: What do I need to roll?
[02:45:08] Speaker E: Sorry.
[02:45:09] Speaker B: 1D4.
[02:45:11] Speaker F: 1D4.
Oh, that's lovely. That's just what I needed.
[02:45:16] Speaker A: Thank you.
[02:45:17] Speaker B: No probs.
[02:45:20] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:45:20] Speaker F: Griffin. Griffin looks a little bit. He's just like, thanks, Guardi. And he sort of just waves his hand and the flame.
[02:45:26] Speaker A: Fire wall.
[02:45:27] Speaker F: Fire goes down.
[02:45:29] Speaker B: Nothing I can do about the clothes, I'm afraid.
[02:45:31] Speaker E: That's all right.
[02:45:32] Speaker A: I've.
[02:45:32] Speaker F: I'm used to fixing them.
[02:45:35] Speaker B: I was thinking a little singed, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
[02:45:39] Speaker C: Completely butt naked on the hook, being.
[02:45:43] Speaker B: Cradled by Abe.
[02:45:47] Speaker A: As the five of you kind of patch yourselves up and begin, like, go to make your way across the. The rope bridge to the next plateau, which, by the by all reckoning, is approximately kind of 30ft up.
You pause for a moment as, like, through the sounds of the pouring rain and the crashing storm.
Guardi. Perhaps it's like your channeling of, like, the healing magics that makes you somewhat more kind of sensitive to the, like, the flow of mana for a moment, but you feel. Guardi. You mentioned it in the village earlier.
But that that wave of something feels wrong suddenly increases to a point where you physically st.
And the as the rest of the four of you notice, Gardi stumble for seemingly no reason, you all feel the ground under your feet shake.
And as you like like it's like an earthquake.
A very short singular earthquake.
And then there's a another and another.
And as you look around and you glance up at the purple sky, you wonder if somehow time has elapsed enough that you're starting to see dawn because the purple skies overhead are turning orange.
And as you look up to your left to the northwest, two behemoth creatures rear into view over the foliage.
A large ice crystalline like creature with wings emerging from its back takes a few steps forward and releases a warbling cry.
And tracing what Cassandra you realize this to be Pfizer. You trace Pfizer's attention to the glowing the burning bird like creature float like flapping in front of it. And you all have to wince and hold your ears as Buru Naan releases a piercing screech.
And the five of you watch as Pfizer takes a few steps like slowly turns a walk into a run. And then with a leap punctuated by the flap of wings, Fizer's claw comes up and connects with the side of Burunan and the this flaming bird is flung to the side, letting out a screech before it. Correct. She corrects herself with a flap of her wings. Flames erupt from the wingtips out into the sky and she lets out another screecher. She pulls her wings in, swoops in towards Pfizer and like headbutts into Pfizer's torso, knocking the other titan backwards. A few steps and the ground continues to shake as Pfizer stomps around, as Buru Nun begins her aerial assault on them.
And I'll go around you each in turn but one word. What is the feeling you are feeling when you see the Titans fighting? Starting living small.
[02:49:57] Speaker C: Very small.
[02:49:58] Speaker A: Cooper.
[02:50:05] Speaker E: Unimportant like there's a sense of smallness is probably the as Lily said, but just like irrelevant.
Just feeling completely irrelevant because two gobs are fighting.
[02:50:23] Speaker A: Griffin.
[02:50:27] Speaker F: Just absolute bewilderment.
Like he's not really sure he thinks those yellow berries are kicking in.
[02:50:39] Speaker A: Cassandra.
[02:50:45] Speaker D: I think for her it's less that they're fighting and more that she can finally see them.
So I think she feels victorious.
[02:50:56] Speaker A: Okay.
And lastly, Gardi.
[02:51:02] Speaker B: Think just awe in the truest sense of the word. Like with all of the respect and terror that that conjures.
[02:51:14] Speaker A: Okay, in which case, as you, as the five of you find yourselves transfixed by these dueling primal deities.
And it's hard to gauge just how far away they are, given the sheer scale of them.
But as they fight it out, your attentions are drawn to another glowing of light on the edge of your visions, off to the right.
And as you turn your heads to regard this other site, you see that on a ledge separate from the standing stones, but seemingly part of the same forest, also overlooking the forested valley, you see three figures seemingly watching the battle.
A standard sized armored figure, a huge hulking form that abe you you, as you feel has to be a keeper under the armor. And a third standard size humanoid figure that appears to be floating.
And as you watch these three figures, also watching the Titans fight it out, the large, hulking, armored keeper slowly turns their heads to look directly at you.
And see, even from this distance, you watch as the hands, a hand tightens around the haft of the axe that glows with this sickly green light. It looks like an axe made of cracked, cracking magma. And as this figure looks to you and you can see blazing green eyes within the helmet under these large curved horns that emerge from his forehead, the figure, having finished looking at you, returns their attention to the warring Titans.
And as with the the sounds of the battle still raging overhead, we will call it there.
Congratulations, everyone.
No, actually.
Rubbish.
[02:54:23] Speaker C: You're dead.
[02:54:28] Speaker B: That bit's gonna be really expensive when the film comes out.
[02:54:30] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:54:37] Speaker A: Tell you what. Talk. Talk excitedly amongst each other, amongst yourselves. I just need to do. Do a quick thinky think.
[02:54:44] Speaker F: What is going on?
[02:54:49] Speaker C: Well, we found them. They're pretty big.
[02:54:52] Speaker A: They're pretty big.
[02:54:55] Speaker E: I was about to say. All I could think about was like a Godzilla fight. Like very, very like King Kong versus Godzilla.
[02:55:03] Speaker B: We need to build a specific rim mech.
[02:55:06] Speaker D: That's our next goal.
[02:55:08] Speaker E: That's what you're gonna turn into. Gardi's gonna become the mech. Oh yeah, That'll be kind of weird, but that's kind of what I'm expecting.
[02:55:19] Speaker B: But then, I mean, if you and Kaz need to be Drift compatible, we're in trouble.
[02:55:23] Speaker D: That's not happening.
It's Cooper and Griffin, obviously.
[02:55:27] Speaker C: It is.
[02:55:29] Speaker B: They're beautiful together.
[02:55:34] Speaker A: Elsewhere in Elsewhere.
[02:55:38] Speaker B: It was a trick.
[02:55:46] Speaker A: The sound of staff impacting into wet, mulchy ground rings out as Mongolva shuffles down into the pits, seemingly unfazed by the rain.
In contrast to the poor soul trapped in the cage in the pit that is rapidly disappearing beneath A rising water line.
As the keeper please. He says, holding out a an emaciated hand.
She smacks his hand away with her staff.
As she shuffles into her little den, She ceremoniously begins lighting candles. Not out of necessity, but perhaps out of habit.
And with each candle that illuminates flickering under the the winds from the storm that are creeping in.
An orb, a perfectly spherical orb of white marble laced with jade green lines sits atop sits atop a plan.
She closes her eyes and places her hands upon it.
And as she begins muttering to herself, she hears in her mind.
Release me.
[02:57:49] Speaker B: Release.
[02:57:52] Speaker C: Me.
[02:58:04] Speaker A: Congratulations everyone on completing episode five.
[02:58:10] Speaker F: Oh yeah.
[02:58:11] Speaker A: Oh yeah. Bo. Yeah.
You all doing fine? You all doing fine. We can turn Thunderstorm off. It's not Thunderstormy. Finished the session. Congratulations everyone. You did it. You've still got a little bit of a ways to go, but I'm sure you'll be fine.
Everything on this island is fine.
[02:58:31] Speaker F: Everything we've seen so far, absolutely fine.
[02:58:34] Speaker C: Everyone sized regular, just regular guys, regular amount of worry.
[02:58:42] Speaker A: Exactly. Exactly.
[02:58:44] Speaker B: I can't believe Mova turn out to be a bad guy.
[02:58:49] Speaker A: Who no one saw that. I thought they were gonna hang out.
