[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello, everyone, and welcome to Explorers of Elsewhere. Tales from Elsewhere Sanctuary. I am your gm. My name is Nate. Hello, welcome. I hope you're having a lovely evening. With me are my five beautiful players. Hello, Livy. [00:00:16] Speaker B: Hello. [00:00:17] Speaker A: Hello, Julia. [00:00:18] Speaker C: Hi. [00:00:19] Speaker A: Hello, Georgia. [00:00:20] Speaker D: Hello. [00:00:21] Speaker A: Hello, Theo. [00:00:22] Speaker E: Hello. [00:00:24] Speaker A: And hello, Dan. [00:00:26] Speaker D: Hi. [00:00:27] Speaker A: Yes. So we are the Explorers of Elsewhere. If you've never seen us before, welcome. Hello. You've come at us halfway, pretty much halfway through Sanctuary. At the moment we're on episode 12. Now, there's about 11 other episodes that you can watch, including our session zero. So do go back and take a little watch on them, but you don't have to. You can start from here, have, have some fun, make it wild. If you do enjoy this episode, give us a like. It's really helpful that we know that people are enjoying it. And if you're not subscribed to the channel, why not subscribe and see what else is coming out? We go live every Monday as well with a completely different game. Currently at the moment, we should be starting Fabula Ultima, if that is correct, Dan. [00:01:15] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:01:16] Speaker A: Yes. So, yes, that will be starting, going live at 7:30 UK time every Monday. And that is leading on to our big campaign four, where. So we do a big campaign of about 20 episodes every month. Every year. Every month. Oh, God damn. Don't want to do that. So we do that every year. And Campaign four is just around the corner. All taking place in the elsewhere setting. If you don't know anything about the elsewhere setting, there's lots of other sessions that we've played. We finished Campaign three last year. We've been playing a couple of other games that sort of take place in the elsewhere setting. But we've also got Campaign one, which is D and D. We've got Campaign two, which is Blades in the Dark, and we've got Campaign three, which is Dagger Heart, which is what we are playing today. If you like what we do and you want to help us out with a little bit of money, you can join as a member or you can join on our Patreon and you get access to future episodes before they're released onto normal YouTube. So if you are watching as a member to episode 11, you can probably watch episode 12 right now. That will be available a week early for members and patrons. You can also join our Discord, but that's absolutely free to join and you can have a little natter with us. We share art, we talk about the games we're playing, we talk about anything else that's sort of happening in the titi. But also if you're enjoying Dagger Heart, we have an affiliate link with drive through rpg. You can click on that. It will take you straight through to the Dagger Heart page where you can buy that. And also the expansion which is coming out I think sometime in the summer if you. It doesn't cost you any extra to go through our affiliate link. It just gives us a little bit of a kickback, which is always really helpful with the channel. If you are watching this on the day of release, you may know that myself and my partner Chris, we run a a com event every year called Pride Comic Art Festival. It's a comic festival that highlights lgbtqia independent comic and zine creators. If you are interested in applying yourself, applications should be open right now as of the release of this episode. So go to our websites, go to our socials. It's all PrideCaf, Pride Caf, and you'll be able to apply if you live in the uk. With all of that out of the way. Don't think I've missed anything. No. Okay, with all of that out of the way, let's go on to the intro. [00:03:52] Speaker C: Hello, I'm Julia and I play Lucretia, a lorevar wizard. [00:03:59] Speaker E: Hi, my name is Theo and I'll be playing Pally, a wolf Kin Seraph. [00:04:05] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Georgia and I'll be playing Vergil, a sanguivar Ranger. [00:04:12] Speaker F: Hi, my name is DM Dan and I'm playing Myrdden, a Wolfkin guardian Druid. [00:04:18] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Livy and I'll be playing Bo, the dragonsent warrior. [00:04:25] Speaker A: And my name is Nate and I'll be the GM for this adventure. Lucretia. [00:04:54] Speaker C: No. Yes. [00:04:59] Speaker A: In front of you is a woman. [00:05:05] Speaker C: A woman. [00:05:05] Speaker F: A woman. [00:05:06] Speaker C: A woman. [00:05:09] Speaker A: In front of you is. Is a woman with long gray, sort of wavy braided hair, bright, bright indigo eyes, and with similar features as yourself. As you introduced yourself in a. In a flourish, you saw the face of your sister Valera, who is also quite surprised to see you. But she is not the way that you remember her. She is much older, at least in her 70s now, you would think, as [00:05:55] Speaker C: if it has been some 30 odd years. [00:05:57] Speaker A: As if it had been some 30 years. Yes, she. She hesitantly sort of lifts up her hands and almost goes to sort of reach for your face to see if you are real. And. But she sort of stops herself before sort of going that far. She's like this. No, this must be a dream of a wicked dream. [00:06:28] Speaker C: Valeria, is it really you? [00:06:34] Speaker A: Yes. Lucretia. Yes, you Don't. You don't look like you've aged a day. [00:06:44] Speaker C: Oh, Valeria, how can this be? You were gone. [00:06:52] Speaker A: I mean, you were gone. I must. I. I must. I must have some confirmation. Tell me a secret. Tell me a secret that we would only know. [00:07:08] Speaker C: A secret. Are you. Are you honestly doing this? Valyria? Valeria, I have crossed dimensions to find you, and now I'm here. You want me to tell a secret? Oh, okay. I. I've got a secret. Do you. Do you remember Randy Simmons? Do you. [00:07:25] Speaker A: Oh, she flusters and goes, like, I thought we were never going to talk about that again. [00:07:32] Speaker C: Oh, shut up. And she pulls Valyria into a big hug, a very long hug. [00:07:38] Speaker E: She. [00:07:39] Speaker A: She feels that warm embrace from you and reciprocates it lovingly and just goes, oh, Lucretia, I thought I would never see you again. [00:07:50] Speaker C: I, I. Well, likewise, but. But I'm here now, and. And you're here, and we're going to save Sanctuary. [00:08:04] Speaker A: I mean, that's not. That's not the plan that we have. The plan that we have is to return back to Elsewhere. [00:08:12] Speaker C: Elysia, that's. That's what saving Sanctuary means. Yes. [00:08:18] Speaker A: Where. I'm. Where. Where have you been? Where have you. Have you come straight here? [00:08:28] Speaker C: I will tell you all about it, but first I must introduce my. My traveling companions, who have kept me safe thus far on our travels. And she introduces everyone and she says, everyone. I. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is my sister, Valyria. Valthorne. [00:08:49] Speaker A: Valyria sort of looks at the four of you, and she. And she sort of gives, like, a sort of very modest bow, and she's like, I. I'm ever so thankful for you looking after my. My dear little sister. You. You. This must be incredibly confusing for the lot of you, but it's incredibly uplifting to know that an Elsewhere is out there. I mean, Aval has been told. Telling us all about it, but to think that now there is possible hope that more people are finding out about us, and, and the fact that families that we thought we'd lost long ago are actually out there. [00:09:33] Speaker C: Yes, yes. It's. It's unbelievable. It's overwhelming. I never dreamed that. Well, I did, actually. I definitely did dream that perhaps I would find you again. I just. I just didn't dare to hope for it. [00:09:53] Speaker A: Well, though the fact that you didn't dare, it doesn't seem like you did lose hope. And I'm so thankful that you didn't. I. I will admit I also felt like I Didn't hold up too much hope and felt like we were the only ones left of Elsewhere. But I'm glad to know that there's more, that there's. That this. This. This pocket that we've ended up in can have some way of getting us back. [00:10:23] Speaker C: Yes, yes, there are. There are many places which. Which were scattered and lost that the moment that Sanctuary was created. We call it the Eschaton, and it was a time of great tumult and destruction. There is still an Elsewhere, but many places got lost. Sanctuary is the first one we know of that was created. Whole cloth at that moment. [00:10:50] Speaker A: Well, that's. Yes. So I. I take it from this information that you have that you've been to Sanctuary, then? [00:11:00] Speaker C: Yes, we have. We have been collecting intelligence and now we are here to find out what you know. Not that I knew it would be you, of course. [00:11:12] Speaker A: Of course. I. I'm surpri. I wonder. And she. And she sort of just like scratches her from. What do you remember about Valyria, Lucretia? Was she. Was she a messy person with her studies, or was she a tidy person with her studies? Did she keep. Did she have everything, like on a big board with lots of strings attached to it, or was she more sort of tightly kept in neat books? [00:11:40] Speaker C: I'm the tightly kept, neat book person. Valeria was always the action wizard. So she was, you know, fighting on the front lines during the War of the Dragons and all that stuff. She was very, very much, let's get out there and do it. It's one of the reasons Lucretia is as intrepid and interested in nature as she is. Was her sister's influence. But I think without Valyria, she would have very much just been an academic in a tower. She wouldn't have ventured out very much. But yeah, out of the two of them, Lucretia's the sort of tidy, organized, bookish one. Valyria's the, you know, magic in practice. Get out into the world, get messy one. [00:12:22] Speaker A: Yeah, well, probably then you. It is no surprise that you see this. This. This hut that. That's been created for her, that there are just papers everywhere. There's papers, sort of like papers and scrolls and. And sort of doodles and hypothesis and spells and stuff like that were plastered all across the walls on these stone walls of this. This hut that she lives in. And you can. You can see like lists of names, names that you recognize. So obviously sort of like Princess Rejoice and Lady Rondonisa and people like that. You. And sometimes even the scribblings go too mad to the point where you can't even recognize what they're even saying. And she. She says, so you. So you. You know about the prince. You know about Princess Rejoice then. [00:13:19] Speaker C: Well, and she looks at the others and says, yes, we. We know a fair bit. But I suspect that your presence here means that you had some fairly close dealings with her. [00:13:36] Speaker A: I admit that they. They did not. They did not take kindly to my prying and they did not take kindly to the knowledge that I found out. [00:13:50] Speaker C: If. If you would permit me, then once we are settled here, I would very much like to compare our notes then on this case. [00:13:57] Speaker A: Of course. Of course, of course. Carmen told me that you've had quite the fight out with the. With the shadows. Let's let us rest. Let's Let us go to the campfire. Let us rest and. And please, we must. You must. We have food. We have plenty of food and drink. Please do make yourselves at home. We are. We're more than happy enough to. To keep you here as long as you need to. [00:14:22] Speaker C: Thank you, Valeria. [00:14:24] Speaker A: You're most kind. She. She. She guides. She kind of walks past all of you and she. She guides you out of the hut and she says, I'd be. I'd be very interested to find out what you're. I've obviously. Avala has been here for six months now and he's told me all sorts about what happened during. During your eschaton and. And the explorers initiative and. And all sorts. I. Are you explorers? [00:14:55] Speaker C: We are indeed. [00:14:57] Speaker A: I wouldn't. I wouldn't have put it past you, Lucretia. Come, come, come. Let's. Let's let us head out as. As the six of you sort of head out and Valeria sort of moves you over to the camp where quite a few of the. A few of the settle. The settlement people have sort of gathered round and they're. They're sort of sharing food, they're chatting, they're drinking, they're. They're having fun. Some. The ace of our man that also came along to help one of the archers who came along to help you during your fight actually comes up to you notice him sort of like in the back as he holds up. He holds up his. He holds up an arrow and on the end of that arrow is explorer. And he says, I found one of their bloody spies outside not having that anymore. As he sort of whacks it down onto the. Whacks it down onto a stone and it just sort of disintegrates into place. [00:16:15] Speaker C: Was that our fault? Did we just abandon Explore? [00:16:23] Speaker D: We were a little bit preoccupied at the time with not dying. [00:16:29] Speaker C: We forgot to tell them not to shoot Explorer. [00:16:35] Speaker A: So Explorer has. Explorer is now sort of like in tiny pieces, not saying anything because it's sort of been shattered across this stone. And the guys left to the party. Just a problem. And it's just like I don't understand why they keep on sending those bloody little robots to us. Like we've got. We've got nothing to hide. What the bloody hell do they want? [00:17:04] Speaker B: Well, if you got nothing to hide, why did you kill him? [00:17:10] Speaker A: And this ace of our man sort of like. And the group that he's chatting to sort of turn around and it says we're hiding what we can find. Any intel about them? So we. So we. So they don't have the jump on us. We're not the ones who have anything against them. They're the ones that ousted us out of Sanctuary. [00:17:35] Speaker B: Just saying if you catch us. Hot kettle black. That's all I want to do. [00:17:45] Speaker A: The. The warm greeting that you had from a few of these is now starting to slightly sour a little bit towards Bo. [00:17:54] Speaker B: He killed that little guy. [00:17:57] Speaker C: Kill that little guy. [00:17:59] Speaker B: I'm a little guy. [00:18:00] Speaker C: I could be next. Goodness me. [00:18:06] Speaker A: Valyria and the. The Wolfkin woman who you met earlier on Carmen. They. They sit you down sort of like around this campfire and and sort of hand you some bowls of. Of stew that have been made and greet you to any sort of drink or anything. Is there. Is there anything that anyone wants to sort of ask questions about Or. Or do you want to actually while the. While the five of you and brother Talons have this chance to sort of rest and recuperate for a bit. Let's talk about you leveling up. See you have all leveled up to level six. So let's go around the room. Let's go with. Let's go with Livy first. Livy. What. What have you taken on in your. In your level up? [00:19:07] Speaker B: So Beau from has looks just a little more. A little more sneaky. [00:19:14] Speaker A: A little more. [00:19:16] Speaker B: A little more evasive. You might say a little easier to hide. So I've upped his evasion. I've auto upped his hit points. Try as we level up it's more obvious how squishy I am so trying to counteract that. And new level up card is rapid riposte or riposte and which basically means if somebody tries to hit me and they don't, I get to stab them. So they miss me. [00:20:01] Speaker C: You just go in for a little. A little shank. [00:20:06] Speaker B: So that's so. [00:20:07] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:08] Speaker B: In melee range, if you miss me, you get a stab. [00:20:10] Speaker A: Nice, nice, nice, nice. Theo, what has Pally taken on in his level up? [00:20:18] Speaker E: So he's added plus one to his evasion. He's also added to his trait, so he's now more strong and more speedy, which is what we need. And he's also taken on two new domain spells, one being inevitable, which if I reading it correctly, if I fail an action roll, my next action roll has advantage. So that's quite nice. And then the other one is restoration. After a long rest, place a number of tokens equal to your spell cast Trait Touch creature and spend any number of tokens to clear two hit points, two stress for each token spent. So I believe it's four. Could be wrong. So basically I have four tokens that I can use. [00:21:03] Speaker B: Yeah. What's your spell class? [00:21:05] Speaker E: I think it's. I can't remember. That's the thing. I've been trying to work it out while we've been chatting and I can't remember. I'd have to look at whatever that token is. I will have as many of those to use as a kind of healing in the moment, which be useful because I already have. Sparing Touch. It feels like it's like an additional way of using that paladin ability if we enter combat. So. And also because I get very stressed and a lot of us get very stressed, so it's very useful to be able to. [00:21:38] Speaker A: Yourself. [00:21:39] Speaker E: I'm not sure that's something I want to check. I could touch myself, but I can definitely touch other people. [00:21:48] Speaker F: But you, you can touch yourself to reduce stress? [00:21:52] Speaker A: Yes. [00:21:53] Speaker B: So does this reduce the stress touching himself? [00:21:58] Speaker E: So my thinking is if I can't, because I'm going to double check the spell, I can use my Sparing Touch. I can use Sparing Touch to help myself and use Restoration to help focus. [00:22:10] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:22:11] Speaker A: Or. [00:22:11] Speaker E: This poor boy is so innocent. He's so innocent. [00:22:15] Speaker C: Such a good boy. [00:22:17] Speaker E: He's too good a boy. Well, awesome steam buddy, but yeah, that's. And that's about it for me. [00:22:24] Speaker A: Cool, Cool, cool, cool. Georgia, what has Virgil taken on in his next level up? [00:22:31] Speaker D: So Virgil is now multi class. He is multiclassed with Druid. [00:22:36] Speaker C: Hell yeah. [00:22:37] Speaker D: Which means he now has beast form. God only knows what kind of beast [00:22:41] Speaker C: form [00:22:43] Speaker D: Virgil would take. Possibly some kind of giant tortoise. [00:22:47] Speaker C: Who's to say, worm? [00:22:53] Speaker F: Do you become a mini Virgil and then sit on brother Talons. Shoulder. [00:22:56] Speaker D: Yeah. Sit on his head. Yeah. That's the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it should be. Frankly, this is mainly because I realized he is useless in battle. And I created him as a healer and as a ranger. He had no bloody healing spells and now he does. He has at least three. He has clarity of nature and he has regeneration. Which are two cantrips, basically. I can't remember what the version of cantrips is in Daggerheart. [00:23:26] Speaker B: Anything. [00:23:27] Speaker D: Yeah, spells. What he has spells what he has [00:23:30] Speaker B: that spells what he has. Yeah. [00:23:32] Speaker D: And he's also got vicious entanglement. He can summon thorns to come up and grab enemies so he doesn't have to touch them with anything. [00:23:41] Speaker C: That's not a healing spell. [00:23:44] Speaker D: Healing on the soul. [00:23:47] Speaker C: Watch the enemy shoot. It's making sure that we get hurt. [00:23:54] Speaker A: Awesome. Dan. Yeah. What is. What has Maiden taken on? [00:24:00] Speaker F: So Maiden took a bonus to his strength and insight. He's now much stronger and much more insight. [00:24:11] Speaker C: Insightful. [00:24:12] Speaker B: Insightful. Is it? [00:24:14] Speaker C: Is it not instinct. [00:24:16] Speaker F: Is that not instinct Instincty. So yeah. Strength four and then insight three. Now I then took an. Well, so the domain card that I took as normal is rage up because it's crazy good. And Maiden has stressful days. I also then took a second domain card as my second upgrade. And so vitality, which then gave me another stress point and another hit point. So effectively I almost got like three level ups. [00:24:55] Speaker E: Okay. [00:24:57] Speaker F: Yeah. I'm now on 11 health nine stress. Theoretically at some point my ignore stress [00:25:04] Speaker A: feature will trigger and you will not be bothered. [00:25:09] Speaker F: I will not be [00:25:13] Speaker A: cool, cool, cool. And last but by no means least, Julia. What has Lucretia taken on at level six? [00:25:19] Speaker C: So Lucretia has upped her knowledge and instinct stats. She has increased her evasion because that's popular. And I've got. I've got a new spell. Do you want me to tell you about it? [00:25:37] Speaker F: Sure. [00:25:38] Speaker C: It's called Sigil of Retribution. I. I toyed with the idea of finally taking Fireball because everybody is really mad at me for being a magic caster who can't cast fireball. But no, I had a look and it's. [00:25:52] Speaker D: She deserves it. She deserves Fireball. [00:25:55] Speaker A: I mean, to be fair, we've. We now realize that only useless bards are allowed to take fireballs here. [00:26:00] Speaker B: True. [00:26:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No self respecting nature. Take fire fireball. So instead she's got Sigil of Retribution, which is basically a. A spell that lets me mark an enemy during a fight every time they. They hurt us that enemy gets a D8 placed on them up to six D8s because that's my level. And basically when I attack them, I just unleash the total of that multi roll night. So just enjoy ramping up. Yeah the damage. So I'm gonna try that out next fight. That's gonna be fun. [00:26:36] Speaker A: Nice, nice, nice, nice. So, yes, probably not so relieved of stress, but feeling a little bit stronger in all yourselves. You something magical and you've all leveled up. Boom, boom. There we go. [00:26:53] Speaker C: Had some stew, felt great. [00:26:55] Speaker A: Had some stew, felt great. Virgil decided I'm going to be a druid and it's you. I want to be a worm. [00:27:06] Speaker D: Look, I could do that. [00:27:08] Speaker C: I could do that. [00:27:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:11] Speaker F: I said that's how you do it. [00:27:16] Speaker A: As the. As these. As the evening sort of draws into obviously night, there are people around you who are not actually asking you so many questions. Not as much as Sanctuary was. It's just like, who are you? Wherever you come from sort of news has sort of gone around this relatively smallish camp of, you know, newcomers. But you've heard about this chap Avala, who's also come from elsewhere. Pally, there is something resting on your mind since that last fight. The. The shadow Commander showing colors that you recognize of of your own tabard, of your own sigil. And that hasn't quite left your mind despite the fact of meeting Lucretia's long lost sister. Knowing of another, of someone else who is also from elsewhere is sort of around this camp. You can't help but shift this feeling that something doesn't quite sit right about with what you see. [00:28:43] Speaker E: Who. [00:28:43] Speaker A: Who do you think you would go and talk about this with if you want to talk to someone about it? How is power is Pally feeling? [00:28:53] Speaker E: Pally's feeling a bit lost, actually. I think for him, like seeing who he like recognizes to be like his dad, you know, in the blue and white with the axe. It makes. It makes sense, but doesn't make any sense. And the person he probably would want to speak to is probably nutrition. But then I also imagine she is probably very busy talking and catching up with her sister. So he wouldn't want to get in. Involved in that. He'd be like, no, she's, she's. But that would make sense the time. I'm not sure who he gravitate towards to talk to. He feels would listen or like understand particularly. So I think really it'd be a case of who he feels is approachable at that time. So it's less about who he thinks he should be to, but more who's. Who's available, who. Who's minding their own business. He might see if they're open to chat, basically. But yeah, I think he. I think it's not adding up. And I think having Valyria also be here kind of suggests that maybe what he thought about his dad is not correct. But then that doesn't make any sense. Like if his dad is here or a version of him is here, how did he get his weapons? How is he like, as far as he's aware, what he has is his dad's stuff and that's why he has them. So what happens to cause this weird conundrum? He's. Things aren't just. They just aren't adding up. Yeah, he's very confused. He looks like a deer in the headlights. Like if. I think if people see him at the moment, he is zoned out. He is trying to process. He is very robotic and kind of going through the motions right now. He'll need someone probably to approach him or if he sees anyone on their own trying to talk to them. [00:31:17] Speaker A: With that, then, pally, as you, as you sort of look around your, your, Your party, you can see, you can see sort of Virgil has sort of veered off to talk to some of the other folk. Obviously Lucretia is deep in conversation with her sister. Beau has also slipped off somewhere and [00:31:44] Speaker D: where could he be? [00:31:46] Speaker A: And much like yourself, Myrden is also sort of very pensively looking at the fire. You with sort of. I mean, you've, you've said you've also. You'd like to talk to Lucretia. Lucretia is probably the main person you'd like to talk. [00:32:03] Speaker E: I think Lucretia knows about his dad, so it's a little easier to broach that conversation. She's the only one really, that's outside the journey so far. [00:32:15] Speaker A: Maybe in your head. Then you're thinking like, everyone seems busy. I'm going to wait until Lucretia is free. Until you feel a hand on your shoulder. You just sort of pat your shoulder and sort of like standing, standing next to you is this Mani man. [00:32:43] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:32:43] Speaker A: And he. And he's like. [00:32:46] Speaker B: And standing behind him is both. [00:32:54] Speaker C: Nate has a character voice all picked out, [00:33:05] Speaker A: This Majani man. And he says, like, he says, excuse me, may I, may I sit with you? [00:33:13] Speaker E: Please go ahead. I'm the guest here. I guess you've been here, but not gonna. Me, I'm. [00:33:20] Speaker A: Oh, you seem very deep in thought. Avala. Nice to meet you. It's. It's. It's good to feel like I'm not the. I'm not the only one who is. Is who's also come from elsewhere. That is not. That is not the only one who is lost here. So it's. It's good. Bad. I don't know. Good. [00:33:45] Speaker E: Bad situation for us all. [00:33:49] Speaker A: Indeed. From what people are talking about. You actually went to Sanctuary, is that correct? [00:33:57] Speaker E: Yeah, it was. We were kind of led there. We ran into somebody who suggested we go a certain direction and we didn't intend to come here. We were lost, so we ended up there first. An interesting place, [00:34:19] Speaker A: I must admit. All I've heard is what it's like. I never actually got to there myself. I came. I was found by some of the camps people here. And they brought me here and kept me safe. You faced up with the shadows. Did you face up with them in elsewhere as Elysia. [00:34:47] Speaker E: It's our second time running into the shadows. Are they quite common around here? [00:34:57] Speaker A: Definitely. [00:34:57] Speaker E: Around the camp? [00:35:00] Speaker A: Yes. I mean they. They surround the camp. A lot of the time it's due to Valyria. That means that they. They. They don't intrude on our parameters. She uses her magic to. To keep us safe. And yes, it's. It's curious thinking that maybe what Valyria is saying is correct. That whatever has control over this world is actually sending them out into elsewhere. [00:35:40] Speaker E: Do we know much about sh. [00:35:45] Speaker A: Only what Valyria has said to me. She says they. They drain people of their manner. She is not completely sure what they do with it, but she believes that they. That the magic that they maintain the manner that they absorb from mortals is then used to whoever powers this world. Whoever keeps everyone imprisoned here. [00:36:19] Speaker E: Interesting. [00:36:23] Speaker A: And the fact that maybe even Valyria's theories are correct. That now that all the people in Sanctuary are all out of mana, have they now ventured off into elsewhere to collect from people there. I'm very lucky. I'm. I don't know how I ended up here. I don't know how I ended up in Sanctuary. But I was the only one. My comrades were unfortunately left to suffer. I don't know what happened of them. All I knew is that I woke up in a meadow of orange flowers and then I ended up here. [00:37:19] Speaker E: Similar for us. It's a strange feeling. I've the few her tell about the Shadow Commander. The one with the big axe is that. Does he arrive often? Do people talk about him or is he just random? [00:37:43] Speaker A: He's. He's one of the bigger ones. Definitely. I mean They've. It feels like you can shoot them down as much as you can, but they always seem to come back after a while. They. We still have yet to find ways to eliminate them completely. Whoever's something. Whoever's manipulating this world is. Well, they keep on making them come back. That's all we think anyway. That's all the camper can think of. At least Valyria thinks that anyway. [00:38:28] Speaker E: And you guys have reason to believe it's somewhat different Sanctuary causing this Specifically? Or someone outside the Sanctuary motivating events there. [00:38:46] Speaker A: That may be something that you have to speak to Valyria about. I don't really know the ins and outs of her theories, but she believes there's some. Some bigger. Something bigger that controls Sanctuary. [00:39:08] Speaker E: The magic doesn't even look quite as normal here. Especially Sanctuary. [00:39:17] Speaker A: Have you found it hard to. I do apologize. You're a serif. Am I correct? [00:39:23] Speaker E: I am. I am. [00:39:26] Speaker A: Have you. Have you found it hard to reach your God? [00:39:33] Speaker E: Maybe on the off occasion. Feels like something gets through but not talked. [00:39:43] Speaker A: Something is. Something is blocking something from elsewhere. Something is. Something around here is blocking any sort of intervention from. From elsewhere whatsoever. The gods changes. I've noticed your friend as a sanguivar Like. There's no Sanguars here. No one's been tainted with the. With the blood of the traitors, with the betrayers. [00:40:11] Speaker E: Which I guess suggests that they just can't reach here. When it happens I can. [00:40:19] Speaker A: That's all I can think of. And that's all Valyria can think of now that we've given her a little bit more information about what's happening outside of this. This world. But you look. You look stressed. Would you like another drink? [00:40:39] Speaker E: Say. Tell me. [00:40:39] Speaker A: If you don't mind. [00:40:42] Speaker E: I was going to say. What. What for you doing before you ended up here. I've been so kind to me. [00:40:50] Speaker A: So I was with a party that came from Falstrom. Do you know of it? [00:40:57] Speaker E: That's where we were. That's how we ended up here. [00:41:00] Speaker A: Oh yeah. So I. I joined sort of like a small group in Falstrom who. Who had heard that. That there were these. These shadows on the outskirts. And I offered my blade in assistance for sort of food and board. And that's how I ended up here. [00:41:25] Speaker E: Yeah. I'm Ar explorers. So similar. Sort of similar. Sort of cool to arms, I guess. [00:41:35] Speaker A: But from a higher indeed. Tell me, were the. Were there any survivors. From. [00:41:45] Speaker E: From your party? [00:41:47] Speaker A: Yes. [00:41:49] Speaker E: Not that I. Trying to remember, I think. [00:41:54] Speaker C: Depends how you define survive. [00:41:57] Speaker E: Yeah. My understanding is there's A lot of. [00:42:01] Speaker B: But not really alive. [00:42:02] Speaker E: Yeah. Yeah. Paddy's understanding as he said. Well, if you can consider them alive. There are lots of very comatose people. Falstrom struggling. That's why we were called. Hoping to find a way to get the. Get people back to how they were. [00:42:20] Speaker A: I see. Yes. They must have been. Well, I'm guessing they must have been drained in a way. That seems to be the way that the shadows leave people once they've taken their fill. Here he grabs you a drink and he hands it to you and he says, I'd like to. It's been such a long time since I've been to talk to anyone about elsewhere. Can we. Tell me more about you. Tell me more about where you come from and has he asks these questions to you and starts to kind of get to know you a bit better. Let's move over to Virgil. Virgil, what are you doing at the moment? [00:43:11] Speaker D: Sorry, I was on mute. Virgil was on mute. I think Virgil is currently bustling. I think it's been a very long time since he's been in like a large community of people and he has missed it a lot. As much as he's tried to tell himself he's a lone wolf. He's not a lone wolf. He's not even a lone worm. I think he's making a bit of a nuisance of himself. And I think because he's. He has been a bit unnerved by what they've been facing recently. He has been a bit unnerved by what they've been fighting and about this unknowableness of the land that they're in. So he is bustling, he's getting in the way. He's walking up to people and he's offering them leaves from his coat. They don't want to pet his owl if they like some soup. It's a few days old at this point. [00:44:14] Speaker C: Pot of soup on your back. [00:44:16] Speaker D: Yeah, he brought it with him when he. They all left the forest and he's had it this whole time. It's just been stewing. You know when it stews really good the next day after you've made it. [00:44:26] Speaker C: Yeah, that's his cold over stewed soup. [00:44:31] Speaker F: That is like a thermos. It's filled with nothing but soup. [00:44:39] Speaker A: People are also very intrigued with you, Virgil. Cuz obviously they've never seen a sanguivar before. And they're very intrigued about your eyes, they're very intrigued about your demeanor. They're very intrigued about your owl. And they're more than Happy enough to. They're probably not taking your soup just because they have their own stew. But. But they're more than happy enough to. To sort of engage with conversation. And Carmen, the. The Wolfkin woman who you spoke to earlier on, she actually has. She asked if. If Brother Talons would more than happy enough, sort of sit on her arm. And he sort of sat there and she's in awe of his. Sort of. His. His pretty brute strength of taking out one of the. [00:45:25] Speaker D: Feel the muscles. [00:45:26] Speaker F: Yeah. And she said, [00:45:30] Speaker A: I didn't know he [00:45:31] Speaker D: had it in him either. [00:45:33] Speaker A: That's. It's incredibly impressive, I must say. [00:45:36] Speaker C: Like, you think you know an owl, [00:45:38] Speaker D: you take him in, you nurse him back to health and he's able to do all that. [00:45:42] Speaker A: I mean, I. I haven't seen Al since I was a kid, but that was. That was pretty impressive. I didn't even know they could do that, so. Wow. Yeah. Can he. Can he join us? Can he stay with us forever? Because we could really use that. We could really use that manpower, that owl power. But yeah, you. You guys seem to be able to look after yourselves out there. Did you. And you've come from Sanctuary, didn't you? You've come from the town? [00:46:19] Speaker D: Yes, well, nice people, friendly people. They took us in, they said hello, they attacked us with some creatures which I understand wasn't intentional. Yes, it's slightly strange place, really. Not that I want to judge. [00:46:39] Speaker A: Let me guess. They said those robots were to keep the Shadow Swords out. [00:46:43] Speaker D: Yes, yes, they did actually. And well, we weren't Shadow swords and they almost kept us out. [00:46:51] Speaker A: Yes, well, I mean that's not the first time they've tried to create something that will like keep non Sanctuary people out. Like we've come up across them before. Like obviously when any sort of those automatons come along, we can't really trust them. We have to. [00:47:11] Speaker D: Yes, that was slightly unfortunate. You don't happen to have all the pieces, do you? [00:47:19] Speaker A: Or probably not. They have probably been incinerated. Now we can't take any chances. [00:47:28] Speaker D: Oh, well, yeah, well, [00:47:32] Speaker B: I do. [00:47:32] Speaker D: I do have to ask you. You live out here? I'm something of a wilderness man myself. [00:47:39] Speaker A: No, but I couldn't have told by the leafy jacket. And. Oh. [00:47:44] Speaker D: Do you like it? Thank you. I've made it myself. You've encountered these monsters before? These Shadow creatures, have they. Do you have anyone in your camp in need of assistance? [00:48:01] Speaker A: Oh, well, I mean, funny. Funny you should say that. [00:48:05] Speaker B: Like. [00:48:06] Speaker A: Yeah, we. We do. She. She takes you along to. With a couple of others sort of following on behind you. She takes you along to one of the. The larger tents and she says, this is. This is our. I guess our infirmary. It's not huge, but like we do what we can. And she takes you in and there's. There's not very many people in there. There's probably like a couple of nurses sort of tinkering around with bits and pieces. But further off in the corner, there is sort of like this goblin woman who has the unmistakable marks of what you saw back in Falstrom. She's. She's incredibly gaunt. Probably not as gaunt. Gaunt as you remember the other patients being. More probably along the lines of when I think it was May Bravan who you were able to give some sort of magical healing to. So she's. She's breathing quite heavy and she looks quite, you know, you know, goblins to be sort of like these bright sort of yellowy greens or greens or greeny blues, but she kind of just looks gray in her complexion. She's out like a light and she's breathing just sort of heavily, but not ruggedly. She's sort of there. And Carmen, she. She looks down at the goblin and she says, yeah, poor Bolt. She's been. She's been like this for. For a while now. Probably a good. I don't know, like, I want to say like nine months. She's slowly getting there. [00:50:00] Speaker E: She. [00:50:00] Speaker A: She was much more worse off when it first happened, but she's. Yeah, she. We just believe it just takes time. Like nothing. Nothing can seems to sort of get her better. She'll wake up from time to time. All we can do is sort of keep her alive, really. She's getting there. But yeah, it's just. It's. It's brutal what they do to you if they get there. If they get their swords into you, basically. [00:50:33] Speaker D: Might I try something? [00:50:36] Speaker A: Oh, please, please do. [00:50:38] Speaker D: Yeah, it did a little good back back home and. Well, sometimes you just have to keep trying. And he will kneel down and he will cast. Healing field. [00:50:53] Speaker A: Okay, So I pressed that. Did not press. [00:51:08] Speaker D: Is that the one I meant to hold? Hold. [00:51:18] Speaker A: Let me unpause the game first. My map has gone again. We'll restart again. Oh, no. Therehere we are. [00:51:30] Speaker C: One hit point. [00:51:31] Speaker D: Think that I think I did it. [00:51:34] Speaker A: Healing field. One hit point. So, yeah, so you don't have to do anything. Do you just spend hope or anything like that? [00:51:42] Speaker D: It's. It's a once per. Per rest. [00:51:45] Speaker A: So once per long rest. Cool. [00:51:47] Speaker D: Anything within close range bursts to life with vibrant nature. Allowing you and all Elysia in the area to clear a hit point. Sorry, gang, we only use it on NPCs. [00:52:00] Speaker A: So. Yeah. Describe again what your healing field looks like. [00:52:04] Speaker D: So I think Vergil kind of dusts himself down and he kneels down and he takes the goblinswoman's hand and he gives a small prayer to Gurgolden. He brings Gurgolden wherever he is and sort of just radiating out from where he's kneeling and around the bed frame, just every. Everything bursts to life. So is there kind of like if there's matting on the floor of this tent, it kind of grass starts to burst through it. The bed frame starts to sort of creak a little and begins to turn back into the branches of the tree it used to be. Kind of buds burst forth a little bit of whatever the cloth around her is woven from. Team says it'd be struggling to life. [00:52:53] Speaker A: So when you cast healing field back in Falstrom, you, despite your own hesitations around your. Your God at the golden, you can still feel them sort of imbued you with this, with this power that you need to sort of help you with this, your. With your healing. This time around, it feels. It feels a little bit more difficult like, like trying to. Trying to speak. Like trying to speak to a lover after, like a very tempered and heated argument and a sort of like a lover who's giving you the cold shoulder. Like, like the argument hasn't dissipated yet and it's trying to almost try and you're getting like a little bit of warmth back, but it's difficult to. To feel it. But that being said, you still. You still make this grass grow through. Through the mattress. Between the weavings of the mats, you can feel the. The entwining of these branches sort of spring out from this wooden bed. You can feel the. The woven fabrics of this blanket start to maneuver over the body. And as quickly as it sort of comes up, it then sort of goes back again and dies down. You see like this small amount of foliage and. And then it sort of dies and then sinks back into what it used to be. But that being said, you do then see sort of like a little bit of sort of like a greeny yellow sort of turn back into this goblin woman's face as she. As she sort of flutters her eyes a little bit and dozingly sort of looks up at you and Carmen and she just says, she just says, oh, that feels a bit better. Hi, Carmen. [00:55:12] Speaker E: Who's your friend? [00:55:18] Speaker D: Rest. Please don't. Don't stand on my account. [00:55:24] Speaker A: She kind of nods weakly and. And sort of lays back down. And Carmen goes, that. That was amazing. That's. I haven't seen her smile in so long. Like, that's. And she. She kind of takes your hand as well, and you could see that she's almost tearing up a little bit. And she kind of. She goes, thank you. That was. That was amazing. [00:55:46] Speaker D: I. I fear it is the. The most I can do in the circumstance, but I. I seek to heal whatever this is. I. That's all I do. So I seek to heal it. [00:55:57] Speaker A: If there's. If there's anything we can do to help you, then just say the word and we'll do what we can. [00:56:04] Speaker D: Very kind. [00:56:07] Speaker A: We'll pan away from the infirmary tent and we'll go over to Myrden. Myrden, you're sat at the camp. You are sort of looking. You're sort of keeping your eye around everyone. You. You can see over the fire. You can see Pali talking to a Majani man, sort of like roughly around the same age as him, maybe sort of like a few years older. How. How is Maiden feeling at the moment? [00:56:46] Speaker F: Maiden is like, he's. Yeah, he sat down. He's kind of hunched forward, elbows resting on his thighs, and he's holding like, the cup. He's. The drink he's drinking and sort of like both hands and. Yeah, peering over Pali, like when he's not, like, staring at the fire. And Mirden is currently. Like, there's a. Well, there's a frown etched across his face, but it's one of concern and uncertainty rather than irritation or. Well, irritation, which I think is a. His normal look [00:57:35] Speaker E: face. [00:57:37] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:57:40] Speaker D: There. Yeah. [00:57:41] Speaker F: There is a definite troubled air about him. And as he takes like a deep breath and kind of looks down the drink, he can kind of just about see his reflection in the surface of the drink and the amulet that hangs around his neck, the stone amulet. Amulet with the yellow swirl of artiosa. [00:58:11] Speaker A: As you. As you peer down into this drink, you and you. You notice sort of like the glowing of this amulet. It glows sort of like a yellow, doesn't it? [00:58:25] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:58:30] Speaker A: You suddenly kind of feel your amulet sort of shudder a little bit. As you can. You can see it sort of like shudder and sort of move your hand as the. As the ripples in your drink start sort sort of vibrating as you continue sort of looking down at your drink at sort of like this very light vibration. You then notice it goes. Go green. As you see this green sort of hue emanate from the. From the rune. And you hear a voice in the back of your head. And it's not. Artyosa. Doesn't really speak to you. You sort of get like a feeling from her, don't you? So this is. This is probably something very new to you, that you just suddenly hear this voice in the back of your mind, just kind of go like, thank you. You must be very kind. [00:59:36] Speaker F: Mirden sits up, looks. Looks around, and then glances down, seeing the green glow. What is this? [00:59:49] Speaker A: I cannot say yet. I must meet the five of you. It is imperative for our survival. Who. [01:00:05] Speaker F: Who are you? Why? And I look around to see if anyone else is hearing this voice. [01:00:12] Speaker A: No one else can hear you. You are blessed by these beasts. [01:00:28] Speaker F: What? You haven't answered my question. Who are you? Why do you talk to me? [01:00:39] Speaker A: That will come in due time. I need to know that I can trust the five of you. Please, at your earlier convenience, come find me again. And then suddenly you see that glow go away and goes back to Yellow [01:01:02] Speaker F: Maiden Mudin. Sort of like bites down on his back teeth. And then as he kind of glances across the camp at the other four, he's almost doing a bit of a mental checklist. And like, even. Even looking over at Beau, there's a part of him that thinks, yeah, they are like, they can be trusted. And then he looks back at his reflection in the drink. And then just a small voice in the back of his mind that says, but you can't be. [01:01:43] Speaker A: The feeling that you had of that voice is now gone. And all you can feel. You can almost feel like. Like a. Not like a rage, more like an annoyance. But it's not from you. It's from Artiosa. Almost like a mother saying, who do you think you are, coming into my domain? [01:02:15] Speaker F: Do I. Do I still feel like. Does it feel like there's a bit of an open channel with Artyosa? [01:02:22] Speaker A: There's definitely an open channel with Artyosa. Now. [01:02:29] Speaker F: Why. Why does your gift fill my head with lies? When I. When I enter these rages, I'm assaulted with memories I did not have. Memories of fighting in the dragons war. Battles I did not take part in. Why do you flood me with these illusions [01:02:59] Speaker A: as you ask this question? You can feel almost like. Like the scornfulness of. Like you're a child being scorned. No words are being said between you and Artiosa. It's just that feeling. That feeling of a parental figure scorning you. And then you are. You are shown. You're shown a Vision. You don't know whether or not it's in your mind, if it's in the drink. It's just somewhere around you of. Of a. Of a. Of a house. Of a house in a. In a. In a sort of meadow, close to a meadow in a peaceful green area. Cherry blossoms around what we would know as cherry blossoms, pink blossoms that sort of flutter in the air. You feel. You feel the warmth and the love of someone, A woman. A woman who you knew, who you shared tender moments with. A small girl with a bracelet around her wrist that twigs something in your memory and you can't. You can't quite get to it, but the feeling doesn't enrage you. It warms you. And you are calm. And then you're back at that fire again. And that rage that you originally had is no longer there. But you can feel like Artyosa is saying, are you happy now? In a sort of disgruntled way. [01:05:19] Speaker F: Meaden, he just blinks and he's sort of like staring off into short distance because the memories of this family that I feel just as real as the memories of fighting in the war. But he. They feel. They feel lived in, but they can't be. And he bites on his back teeth again and drinks the drink to ripple the surface so he can't see himself anymore. [01:06:03] Speaker A: As we pan away from Myrden. What is. What is Beau up to? [01:06:14] Speaker B: Unbeknownst to him, he's looking around the camp. He's looking for this Majani but can't find him. [01:06:22] Speaker C: Sure he was meant to be here. [01:06:23] Speaker D: I saw he was around here somewhere [01:06:27] Speaker B: that he is hoping to come across potentially maybe his tent or living quarters or somewhere. He's doing his due diligence. He needs to make sure that, you know, he'll feel better if he's killing a bad guy, but doesn't necessarily mean to. So if he's got, like, letters about how evil he is, that would be great, but. Dear diary, I'm a really bad man. [01:07:01] Speaker A: I've been a bad, bad boy. [01:07:05] Speaker C: Wish someone would just give me what I deserve. Put me out of my misery. [01:07:11] Speaker E: Dear diary. [01:07:14] Speaker A: Dear diary. Killed my brother. Lol. [01:07:18] Speaker C: Killed about remorse. [01:07:23] Speaker A: So. Though, as you're. As you're exploring these tents, trying to see if you can find any more information on your target. The. The ignorant sprite who was part of this cavalry that came to your aid earlier on, he. He walks up to you and he's. He's just like, oh, you look like you're, you know, like you're lost. Bog's over there if you need it. [01:08:02] Speaker B: That's exactly what I was looking for. Well, thank you, my father. [01:08:08] Speaker A: You're quite welcome. God. You could afterwards join us for a drink. We'd love to hear more about what elsewhere's like [01:08:17] Speaker C: where. [01:08:18] Speaker B: Where you are. Catching you up. I'll catch you up. Whereabouts are you? [01:08:22] Speaker A: Oh, we're. We're all just around the fire. [01:08:26] Speaker B: I'll see you in just a sec. [01:08:30] Speaker D: Okay. [01:08:31] Speaker A: That doesn't sound suspicious at all. As he. As he sort of wanders off. You need anything else, you just let me know, Mr. [01:08:48] Speaker B: Ignorance. [01:08:48] Speaker A: Sprites. [01:08:49] Speaker B: So gullible. [01:08:55] Speaker A: So. So Bo, are you gonna. Are you looking for a tent of some sort? [01:09:01] Speaker B: Yes, I'm looking. Just kind of looking around, just seeing if there's sort of like signs where he might be. Obviously he's gonna have maybe more stuff that might look like it's from elsewhere rather than like a tree or explorer's pack. I know that he's obviously some kind of like mercenary or soldier or something like that. So just kind of looking if there's anything obvious around or just. Yeah, trying to glean some of information. [01:09:37] Speaker A: Give me a presence check and see. [01:09:40] Speaker B: Presence. [01:09:41] Speaker A: Yeah. No, not a present check. Sorry. Give me. Give me an instinct. [01:09:49] Speaker B: I just did a presence check on that Ignorance fright and he 100 believe me. [01:09:52] Speaker A: So he had a difficulty of one. No. [01:10:01] Speaker B: So I was looking for. Instinct. [01:10:07] Speaker C: Correct. [01:10:13] Speaker B: Oh, that's a solid seven. [01:10:15] Speaker A: Seven. With Hope, it's. It's really hard to determine on what could potentially be his tent. Even with your sort of hunting skills, like these tents look pretty much the same. You. You do sort of dip your nose into one of them. But you are caught off guard by walking in on a couple of sprites changing. [01:10:48] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [01:10:51] Speaker A: And they just kind of go, get out. Ah. One of them is just like. Well, actually, [01:11:02] Speaker B: Yeah, but look like a big boy to you guys. [01:11:11] Speaker A: So, yes, you're. You're unable to find. You're unable to. To find what you're looking for. But I will say with the hope you are more than welcome to join these sprites in their tent. [01:11:32] Speaker C: Just get distracted for the next hour. [01:11:34] Speaker F: Yeah, that is how I leveled up [01:11:40] Speaker A: and that's how I became more sneaky, [01:11:42] Speaker B: more evasive and fireproof. I will go and go and hang out with my clothed sprite friend. [01:11:58] Speaker F: Okay. [01:11:58] Speaker A: Okay. [01:11:59] Speaker B: By the fire. [01:12:01] Speaker A: So one of them. Not completely. One of them could just kind of go, no, not my type. You kind of get the. You get the impression that they are not probably interested in arrested. So yeah, you, you, you go not interested either. You, you wander off back to the. Wander back off to the, to the campfire where you see that this Ignan sprite has actually joined your target who is also talking to Pally. And they are. They are all having sort of like a nice little chat around the fire. Virgil has come back with this Wolf King woman. Carmen Murden is grabbing himself another drink probably. Lucretia, you are, I'm guessing you are sitting with your sister. [01:13:01] Speaker C: Yes. [01:13:04] Speaker A: She has asked you a barrage of questions and she. She's asked you all sorts about sort of like what elsewhere is like at the moment, how you got here, what you've seen. Obviously the same sort of stuff that you've. You've answered a million times to everyone else who's asked you to sort of come in here. Is there any particular questions that you've asked her? [01:13:27] Speaker C: Well, I obviously have asked her how, how it all played out sort of at the moment of the Eschaton ending up here and what it's been like for her for, you know, all these years. Obviously acknowledging the disparity in our ages now, the fact that it's only been about three odd years of time over in the main elsewhere. Yeah, I think those would be. But before getting down to the business of trying to figure out what the heck this, this place is and how it works and everything, those would be the main theme what she'd have been asking Valyria. [01:14:06] Speaker A: Valyria. She has described that she was. There was a battle going on before the Eschaton hit in the city of Solimani, which was one of which was the city that she had been asked to attend. She knew that there was some conflicting evidence regarding the Ace of our High House that was. That was looking for protection. But it was up in the air of whether or not the. The house that was more was a Festo house. They. They sort of worshipped in the. The dragon Phaisto. There was. There was conflicting evidence on whether or not they'd actually turned to the portrayer side to the side for arcane, for mortals to be able to gain arcane whenever they want and so sided on with the Betrayer dragons and also the Betrayer armies. She said when she got there. It looked like that the Soleimani family really had no choice when it came to it. They had been blackmailed into. Into joining the Betrayer army and that she was aware that a bunch of other art like a bunch of other like squadrons from all over elsewhere had been sent to help sort of overthrow this sort of Blackmailing party that had sort of taken over Soleimani, which she was. [01:15:48] Speaker D: Was. [01:15:48] Speaker A: She was part of these, of this sort of like this backup that was coming along. And then the Eschaton hit and then they found themselves here and she says, I, she says, I don't know what, what you call the Eschaton. We don't know what actually happened and, and why we were chosen, you know, as there was a. A fair few hundred of us who made it through, who made it through into this. To this void. And you know, it's. It was awful to begin with. All sorts of creatures, all sorts of sightings that we couldn't understand or even, you know, common comprehend a lot of the time. And then things just started sort of popping up around us. Trees, grass, flowers, all. All becoming sort of crazy and silly and, and as you've. You've probably seen before, the sort of like the, the unexplainable mushrooms and the floating backward rivers and, and things like that. When it became apparent that Princess Rejoice was creating these, I. I tried my best to, to, to assist her in a way as any, you know, as any good mage would that obviously a child with such power. But during my time with the High House, I found some disturbing developments. It seems that the Princess can create this world, this Sanctuary. But something else manipulates it. Manipulates it to all. To the comfort of the Princess. [01:18:00] Speaker B: What. [01:18:00] Speaker C: What do you mean manipulate? [01:18:03] Speaker A: Well, do you think a young child would create such awful creatures as these shadows? [01:18:13] Speaker C: Well, no, I suppose not. It. So there's more to it. There's some kind of controlling power here. [01:18:30] Speaker A: I believe that is what's keeping us away from Elsewhere. This over controlling power. And with over controlling power and not much access to the gods, they've had to define this power from somewhere. First they. I did lead to believe that they had been slowly draining it from the people of Sanctuary. From everyone here. Did you notice that no one knew of any magic or had any magic in them? [01:19:09] Speaker C: Yes, yes, everyone was very curious about us when we arrived. [01:19:16] Speaker A: It seems like they've been almost to the point like slowly drained of anything still to be obviously to. To survive to still living normal lives. But over. Over the time they've slowly been drained of their manner. [01:19:35] Speaker C: The. The people of Sanctuary are the power [01:19:39] Speaker A: source they once were. Not anymore. Now that they no longer produce enough. [01:19:47] Speaker C: Which is why we're seeing a spread of the shadows elsewhere. [01:19:52] Speaker A: I believe that that is what's happening. I believe whoever controls Sanctuary is now opening up a gateway into Elsewhere to drain it from other people. I. I believe that you saw the friendship ceremonies as Elysia. [01:20:12] Speaker C: A curious practice. What do you know of it? [01:20:20] Speaker A: We all know that mana can be at its most potent when you're a child, when you. When you're learning, when you're developing. These friendship ceremonies are not just a way of keeping the princess entertained and keep her company. They're also a way of generating the source from its core. [01:20:47] Speaker C: How so? [01:20:49] Speaker A: They choose the most powerful children. They bring them into the palace without their parents or other guardians knowing. They basically drain them of all manner. And then once after a couple of years, after that manner is gone, they release them, then back to their families, to their guardians. They give them these gifts. But it's obviously. Obviously they haven't. They haven't been generating as much as they've wanted. I do fear that them sending you out here has probably been a little bit of a. Of a suicide mission for you. I think they wanted you to go out, and I think they wanted you to be ambushed. [01:21:39] Speaker C: Such artifice. My goodness me. [01:21:42] Speaker B: It's. [01:21:42] Speaker C: I mean, it's clever enough. I mean, they must be quite. Quite desperate by this point. Who. Who is this higher power who is controlling the world? [01:21:53] Speaker A: Unfortunately, I. I don't know. [01:21:57] Speaker C: Valyria, come on. I. If I know anything about you, that. You would have a few theories by now. [01:22:06] Speaker A: The only theory that I have is that it's obviously someone who wants to keep the princess the way that she is. She hasn't aged. No. [01:22:19] Speaker C: No. It's curious, isn't it? I have been wondering what is responsible for that. [01:22:25] Speaker A: Someone. Someone is wanting to keep the princess the age that she is now, almost in a time capsule of. Of before the Eschaton. [01:22:38] Speaker C: What do we know of this family? It doesn't sound as if any of the others have come through with her. [01:22:49] Speaker A: No, I mean before the Eschaton and before we all came here, the only real family she had was her mother. And it is believed that these. These. This blackmailing and this dealing that happened with these. With these betrayers was. Was all done through her mother. [01:23:17] Speaker C: So this is me speaking as Julia. So, Phaisto, one of the betrayer dragons, [01:23:25] Speaker A: is a divine dragon. [01:23:26] Speaker B: He. [01:23:27] Speaker C: They were worshiping Phaisto. Then they were blackmailed into. Yes. Okay. aesivar a little guy. [01:23:39] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:23:39] Speaker A: I just can't remember if he was. [01:23:40] Speaker C: If he was divine or arcane. [01:23:42] Speaker A: He's divine. [01:23:43] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:23:43] Speaker E: He looks like bow. [01:23:45] Speaker C: Okay, it is b. It is Bo, right? Is it? So just. And what do we know about. So does Lucretia Know anything about the mom? Or maybe she would discuss that with. With Valyria, you know, what. What is known of Rejoice's mother? [01:24:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, Valyria would talk to you about it. She would go, well, that was. That would be Lady Blessing. Lady Blessing would have. Would have been the. The matriarch of the family. But since the Eschaton, no one saw any of her. She. She never. She never made it to. To sanctuary. The only per. The only one who made it was. Was Rejoice. [01:24:36] Speaker C: Nate, do we know Lady Blessing? Do we know if she came through in the Eschaton? Do we know if she died? Was she ever accounted for? [01:24:46] Speaker A: You roll me a knowledge check? [01:24:49] Speaker C: Sure. I would like to claim my. Well, experience, because I get it. [01:24:59] Speaker A: I get. [01:25:00] Speaker C: No, it's not experience. Sorry. It's. It's an ability that gives me advantage on history, culture, politics, prominent people and places because I. Because I. I know lots of stuff. So how do I do advantage again? You. Here we go. Yeah, add the modifier. That's fine. So knowledge with advantage. Let's go. That is a 19 with fear. Except I'd like to change it to Hope, please, with my fearless. [01:25:34] Speaker A: So rude. [01:25:35] Speaker C: I know. So I'm gonna take too stress. [01:25:39] Speaker F: You've got seven fear now. You don't need any more. [01:25:42] Speaker A: I want more. Yes. So we're 19 with Hope. You do know, you know, an academic as yourself would definitely know, like a good majority of the ace of our houses. And you especially, such a high and powerful house as. As the Soleimani family. So Blessing Solemani would have been a well known person to you. [01:26:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:26:09] Speaker A: But as you. As far as you are aware, she was never accounted for after the Eschaton. Like as. As far as anyone knows, like Soleimani sort of was. Was ripped apart. Yeah, by the Eschaton. And none. No one. The only ones who probably ever sort of survived now probably live in Falstrom or sort of, or have returned to Avermore. [01:26:38] Speaker C: Yeah. Lucretia considers this and she says, you know, it's a funny thing, this Lady Blessing Solimani was never found after the Eschaton. She is not living in Elsweyr, as far as we know. [01:26:57] Speaker A: Interesting. Do you. I mean, she was powerful, but powerful enough to run a world. [01:27:07] Speaker C: Well, who's to say she's even still mortal or embodied? [01:27:16] Speaker A: Curious. Yes. Yes. I think you might be onto something. [01:27:20] Speaker C: Who would want to protect the Princess? Keep her just as she is? [01:27:27] Speaker A: What is greater than a mother's love? [01:27:29] Speaker C: Indeed it is. It's almost as if the whole world is designed to cater to a child, to delight and intrigue her, everything is set up to power her, retain her youth. I may be completely wrong, but it's possible, surely. [01:27:55] Speaker A: I wonder how we can actually find out more about this. Surely there must be a way to. To find out something from one of the court. [01:28:04] Speaker E: You. [01:28:05] Speaker A: You have their. You have their trust. [01:28:09] Speaker C: Hmm? Elysia. Do you think that is the best way to proceed? Perhaps we could speak to her advisor, Lady Rondanisa. [01:28:24] Speaker A: She as well, is also highly protective of the. Of the young Pristines. But maybe she might know a bit more. And if you have her trust, obviously they. They distrust me. Long ago, they ousted me from. From the town. Long, long ago. But if they are not aware that we are obviously family, at least we hope so. I. I try and keep a protective shield over this camp, and you can tell that it really obviously annoys someone because they keep on trying to bring their shadows around here. But unfortunately, I have not been able to leave anywhere else. I have to keep these people safe. [01:29:05] Speaker C: Of course, of course. These shadows, we think that they are ensuring the world stays powered, but we also think that they are somehow the key to evacuating whoever wants to leave. [01:29:26] Speaker A: They are. [01:29:27] Speaker C: They were the way in to Sanctuary from elsewhere, perhaps way out. [01:29:32] Speaker A: I don't think so much that they are the key. They are more the. They are more the collectors of this manner that is used to power. I think the only way out of Sanctuary to get back to elsewhere is probably through the one controlling it all. [01:29:51] Speaker C: Indeed. [01:29:52] Speaker A: Well, [01:29:55] Speaker C: we should consult with my colleagues. They may also have some ideas on how to proceed. [01:30:03] Speaker A: And as the two of you muse on these ideas and you notice that your colleagues have now arranged themselves around this fire. We'll take a break. If.
