[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello, Internet. Hello, world. Hi.
Hello. My name is DM Dan. We are the explorers of Elsewhere. We will be playing some dagger heart tonight.
And we comprise of me and Livy.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: Hello.
[00:00:20] Speaker A: And Theo.
[00:00:22] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:00:23] Speaker A: And no.
Hello.
And Georgia.
[00:00:28] Speaker B: Hello.
[00:00:30] Speaker A: And Tim.
[00:00:32] Speaker D: Hello.
[00:00:34] Speaker A: Hi.
How are we all? How are we doing? How we diddling?
How are we bongling? All good.
[00:00:41] Speaker D: Good, good.
[00:00:42] Speaker A: All good.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:00:43] Speaker D: I found this long acorn.
[00:00:45] Speaker A: A long.
[00:00:46] Speaker E: A long one.
[00:00:47] Speaker B: Wow, look at that.
[00:00:48] Speaker D: Look at that.
That's. That's content right there.
[00:00:53] Speaker B: That should be patrons, Patreons and subs.
Yeah.
[00:00:58] Speaker A: If that long acorn is not worth a sub, I don't know what is.
[00:01:03] Speaker F: It's got to blur it out.
[00:01:06] Speaker A: Yes, I'll do that. I'll do that.
Welcome. Hello. We are here to play some dagger heart. The third campaign in the Explorers of Elsewhere series, the Titan Isles.
This is episode 13. We are well on our way.
We had a little whoopsie at the end of the final. At the end of the last episode, but we press on regardless.
Never, never tell Tim the odds.
But yes, we will see how we wangle our way out of that.
Just do a little bit of housework, a little couple of chores before we jump into it.
Yes, the. The. Tim, if you could display the acorn again.
This acorn deserves a, like, it deserves a sub on YouTube or a follow on Twitch.
And it deserves you joining our discord, which is free when the links will be in the description.
You can also, if you want to see. I reckon. I reckon everyone, for anyone who wants to become a member on YouTube or a patron on Patreon, which gets you access to videos early. And the first. The first like members only video has gone live.
That's Nate's Bad Lads Tales from Elsewhere.
Yes, if you. If you were to join as a member or a patron over on YouTube or Patreon, I reckon. I reckon Tim can find an even longer acorn.
And who wouldn't want to spend money to see that?
And also. And also us doing some extra stuff in addition to the main campaign.
That's. That's secondary to long.
[00:03:05] Speaker B: Secondary to a really long acorn.
[00:03:08] Speaker A: Exactly. Exactly.
So with all that in mind. Yes, you lot are somewhat popsicle shaped right now. Who would like to jump back in and do their best snowman impression?
[00:03:25] Speaker B: Yeah, sounds good.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: Okay, let's go.
[00:03:43] Speaker E: Hello, I'm Nate and I'll be playing Griffin, a Sanguvar bard.
[00:03:50] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Livy and I'm playing Abe, the Guardian keeper.
[00:03:56] Speaker C: Hello, my name is Theo and I'll be playing Cooper, the Dragon scent. Rogue.
[00:04:01] Speaker F: Hi, my name is Georgia and I'll be playing Cassandra, an ace of our sorcerer.
[00:04:08] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Tim and I'm playing Gardi, the Johnny Druid.
[00:04:14] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan, the games master. In this adventure Sat, the presence of infection is both a warning and a trial.
Left unchecked, it festers, spreading rot through what was once healthy and strong.
Yet to purge it, to cut it away, to burn it out, often brings pain before relief.
The paradox lies in this. The cure may wound in the moment, but only through that wounding does a host regain its strength.
So it is with people, with societies and with world spirits.
When corruption takes hold, the choice to confront it can feel perilous. For those infected rarely surrender. Quietly, they thrash and rage, and their lashing out can cause harm to those who only seek to heal.
Still, to look away, to do nothing, is to allow decay to deepen. The challenge lies in courage to endure an impossible task, trusting that renewal waits beyond the suffering.
And so we find the six of you, including the mayor, Coraline, Balroon, Mostly huddled around a campfire which is spluttering out due to the the frigid chill that lingers in the air.
The five of you, Bargardi, surrounds this campfire, quite literally frozen in spot with the sounds of loud like large flapping wings overhead.
As this iced large moth like creature, a good 15ft wingspan, hovers overhead, having just dispersed its freezing spores down upon you.
As it looks, its antennas twitching, it begins emitting this sonorous warbling trill.
And Gardi, you who have kind of ducked out of the way during the, during the fight, you manage to sort of like duck yourself away in time to see a number of other gigafailan moths begin to descend upon the campfire.
The moths like shriek and trill at one another as they try to buffet the. The heat of the flame. The campfire flames away, but as you kind of peer from the bushes to the side, you watch as the moths swoop down and with their numerous legs hanging from their thoraxes, they begin scooping up your frozen companions like and cat like going to lift them up like icy cocoons.
You get the impression that they have not noticed you.
What do you do?
[00:08:21] Speaker D: Okay, cool.
I have no good spells for this circumstance, so I would like to hide in a bush, please, and see what happens.
[00:08:39] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case you, yeah, you watch as the, the moths fundamental like one of the, one of the. These large moths on these gigafailin kind of swoop over and they blanket the campfire. Flames with more of their kind of freezing spores.
And you even at the distance away from the fire that you were, you feel its sudden absence as it. This as it sputters out.
And you watch as the. The gigafail and begin to move a bit more freely.
And yeah, before long they like. As some of them are scooping up your like the other adventurers.
You see one sort of like fending off the. The swarm of sort of like ice backed beetles that are scurrying around. Um, the. These like little scar beetles that were nipping at Abe's ankles.
The moths kind of buffet them away.
And then you watch as like one of them picks up Abe and slowly lifts him into the air.
And as the moth. As these three gigafailin kind of rise up into the sky, you note that they begin traveling in a northwesterly direction over like over the.
The canopy of kind of frozen like the trees around you.
They almost look like crystal carvings of trees given the. The peculiar kind of icy primal magic that in. That floods this area. Yeah. You see these gigafailon crest over the crystalline canopy and yeah. Begin heading in a northward a northwesterly direction. Your companions swaddled underneath them.
[00:10:42] Speaker D: Cool. Nice.
[00:10:43] Speaker B: Okay, see you later.
[00:10:47] Speaker D: All right.
All right, let's go bad mode.
[00:10:52] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:10:52] Speaker D: I'm gonna go bird mode and try and follow them without getting massacred by a hundred moths.
[00:11:05] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:11:06] Speaker D: Oh, I seem to have accidentally killed myself somehow.
[00:11:12] Speaker B: On that site. You're like, nah.
[00:11:15] Speaker D: All right.
[00:11:16] Speaker B: Back.
[00:11:16] Speaker D: Don't worry, I've recovered. I've quickly recovered my fearless demand of foundry yet again.
[00:11:24] Speaker C: I was gonna say this is giving last week. So unable to choose this time I just. Dead alive. Dead alive.
[00:11:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:33] Speaker D: Seven out of seven gp. It kills me for some reason. But let's.
[00:11:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Dagger heart problem later rather than down.
Oh yes.
[00:11:43] Speaker D: You take
[00:11:46] Speaker B: off.
[00:11:46] Speaker D: I'm 0hp. Okay. Okay. All right. I'm back.
And I am an owl.
The sneakiest of birds.
[00:11:55] Speaker B: Ah, yes.
[00:11:57] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case, as you transform into.
And I believe I'm pretty sure we've got a. Probably got a picture of it. So somewhere. Haven't we a. I'm already an owl,
[00:12:12] Speaker D: Dan, don't you worry.
[00:12:13] Speaker A: Oh, he's already an owl.
[00:12:16] Speaker B: He's doing.
[00:12:17] Speaker A: Can't show it though.
[00:12:18] Speaker D: Hold.
Not again.
[00:12:21] Speaker A: Well, I'm sure we can all picture an owl in our. In our big brains.
[00:12:26] Speaker D: Not this one, you can't.
[00:12:27] Speaker C: But it's got a guardy horn.
[00:12:33] Speaker A: As you. As you transform. Transform into.
Fine, I'll do it. Where is it? Where is it did. I delete them to delete them in a fit of rage maybe.
[00:12:45] Speaker E: Dan is well known for hating owls.
[00:12:48] Speaker B: So just saw it. Delete.
Perma delete. Get rid of it.
[00:12:54] Speaker E: Scoundering on my game.
[00:12:55] Speaker A: Oh wait, wait. No. I have found it. I have found it. Okay. Sense chat. There we go.
There we go. As you turn into a gray feathered owl with a.
With a notable crystalline horn jutting from your forehead.
Yeah.
[00:13:14] Speaker B: Abe.
[00:13:16] Speaker A: You take flight and begin your pursuit of these gigafailen.
As you go, you track the group.
Switch that one.
You track the group in a north westerly direction.
And you wonder as you kind of like fly behind these moths that seem just. They don't seem to paying you much mind. But it does make you wonder if perhaps these were the same creatures that you saw kind of seemingly feasting on some land based creature during the last leg of your journey. Perhaps this is a similar kind of flock. Yeah. You begin traveling in northwesterly direction until you see these moths begin to descend into what appears to be an almost like crater like void in the ground. There's a. A long, a very long kind of valley gulch that leads from the southeast to the northwest that expands into this crater.
And as you come like your, your heightened sight allows you to see that there are a number of sort like cave entrances, what seem to be cave entrances that line the, the like the edge of this large, large crater.
You know, we're talking a quarter of a mile.
We're talking a quarter of a mile.
There is a fleeting moment where as you peer in it peer at this hole in the ground.
There is a flash back to Dorlishal after your confrontation with Exo.
But as you kind of snap back to the moment you see that these gigafailen are swooping down to a.
An entrance near the rim of the. Of the crater. And you watch as these large kind of winged bug like creatures like land, still clutching the their, their prizes like your companions. And then as they kind of curl their wings in, they begin squeezing into this small kind of endless crack in the side of the the crater.
And before long you watch the three of them disappearing before two emerge and fly back out to the skies.
[00:16:15] Speaker D: I mean, I guess I'm going on in there.
[00:16:17] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay.
In which case as you swoop down to the this kind of little crevice entrance inside you see the like the ground, unsurprisingly like the rock ground is hard, but it feels, it feels harder for the temperature.
Even swaddled in your feathers, you can't help but give a little shiver as your.
As your claws kind of touch the cold stone floor floor. And as you peer in this kind of cave smells and looks dusty. I suppose you would but a peculiar dust. You perhaps wonder if it's the spores that or the all the kind of the fluff from the these gigafailin wings as they pulled themselves in.
But you've noticed that as you creep in over in the far left hand corner you can see these kind of lumps of ice with your companions frozen inside them kind of land like on their sides. And one of the gigafailen currently has currently has.
One two currently has griffin in its grip and is turning it over. And it reminds you almost as like a. A like a spider kind of spinning. It's a cocoon a silky web around its next meal. But it just seems to be kind of encasing Griffin's griffin in more I yes it appears to just be you and it in this relatively low ceilinged cave entrance. You know that the thing won't be able to fly here. It is certainly for it a crawler space. But you know if you were in guardy shape you would definitely be able to stand like even Abe could stand up upright in this cave.
[00:18:40] Speaker D: Cool. I'm just gonna have to punch this guy, aren't I?
[00:18:44] Speaker B: As of now,
[00:18:48] Speaker D: I think so.
[00:18:50] Speaker B: Get it. Get it Gotti.
[00:18:52] Speaker F: Get that little wings.
[00:18:56] Speaker D: Let's have a look.
[00:19:01] Speaker F: Just ram him. Just nut him with your owl head.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:03] Speaker B: Your little.
[00:19:07] Speaker D: You've been watching get to any of the others without it seeing me.
[00:19:15] Speaker A: You reckon you can because it's like the, the. The. The popsicles that are your allies.
They can't say they're. They're against one war where they seemingly kind of been dropped by the gigafail and they've rolled against the wall.
But this one has kind of taken Griffin clearly was at the the end the edge of the package and effectively has its back turn. And you can see it's like it's for it's.
It's abdomen kind of doubled over and it's kind of. There's a this, this silky like liquid coming from it and then it's kind of shaking and rattling as it drops more spores onto Griffin as it just kind of turns in its legs. Yes, you do absolutely think you could if you want to give me a check of some sort. I'm just. I'm thinking.
I'm thinking and
[00:20:10] Speaker D: agility.
[00:20:12] Speaker A: Agility.
Agility or finesse. I think it's a mess.
[00:20:17] Speaker D: Yeah, that's unfortunate because I'm slightly worse, but it's okay because I'm gonna smash this.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: Right.
[00:20:23] Speaker D: I'm gonna try and get to this feels like a situation that needs a big man with a big axe. So I'm going to try and sneak to.
[00:20:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Le quick from me.
We'll leave him to last. It's fine.
[00:20:34] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:36] Speaker D: Oh, can I also.
No. I'm out of hope. I'm out of hope. I think I'm out of hope.
[00:20:44] Speaker A: Well, I've got you as three.
[00:20:46] Speaker D: No, I didn't take it.
[00:20:48] Speaker A: Zero. Okay.
[00:20:49] Speaker D: I'm at nothing. Oh, well.
[00:20:53] Speaker F: Ooh, rally dice.
[00:20:55] Speaker D: What do I have to spend for this?
[00:20:57] Speaker A: That's.
We will notice Griffin is a popsicle. The rally dice will have to wait.
[00:21:05] Speaker D: That seems eminently fair.
It's bad.
It's an eight with hope.
[00:21:16] Speaker B: Yeah, Hope.
[00:21:17] Speaker A: Okay.
Okay.
[00:21:19] Speaker D: You with hope.
[00:21:21] Speaker A: You gain hope.
And what. So what is it you were trying to do with Abe?
[00:21:29] Speaker D: So I want to just going to.
[00:21:31] Speaker B: Just going to lick him out of his.
[00:21:33] Speaker D: Where he is and then start licking? No, I was going to use.
What do we call it in this world? We call it wild touch.
I was gonna wild touch him and create a campfire beneath him to. To thaw this big boy.
[00:21:54] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:21:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:57] Speaker A: Okay. Wild touch. Wild touch.
Yeah. Starting a campfire. Okay, you begin.
So you make it over.
Suppose this. Okay, you make it over to Abe.
[00:22:16] Speaker D: Oh, obviously I am now human mode as well, because that is.
Oh, actually, no, I think I can do it while I'm an owl.
[00:22:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I was imagining you could.
[00:22:25] Speaker D: It's a feature, not a. Not a spell. So. Yeah.
[00:22:28] Speaker A: Okay. So realistically, the finesse check was the sneak. So you.
You go to the little owl. Waddle. You go to waddle over to Abe. And before you get a chance to kind of make the dash over to where Abe, the largest of the ice cubes is.
You hear a clink.
And as your head turns around and your massive eyes take in everything, you notice that the gigafailen has dropped Griffin and there's turns to like, choose another and not tasty. So you know you've not made it to a yet.
Instead, let me roll a D8 to see where the gigafailing goes next.
Okay. You watch as the gigafailen turns to pick up coraline and begins the same kind of spinning process.
Pre digestion maybe.
[00:23:42] Speaker D: No one cares about crawling. That's fine.
[00:23:45] Speaker B: Putting on the herbs and spices.
[00:23:48] Speaker D: Does it seem like I can. Like, can I have another crack at getting to Abe or should I Absolutely can you?
[00:23:53] Speaker A: Absolutely can. Yeah. You roll with hope. So you didn't manage it, but he didn't notice you either.
[00:23:58] Speaker D: Amazing. Okey doke. Right, let's have another go. And this time now I have a hope I will spend that on cool and composed, if that's all right.
[00:24:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
And you are Majorani Gardi, right?
[00:24:14] Speaker D: I think so.
[00:24:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:24:18] Speaker D: Oh, am I. No, I'm still an owl.
[00:24:20] Speaker A: No, I switch you back. It's cool.
[00:24:22] Speaker D: I'm still an owl. But that's all right. We'll.
We'll figure it out later.
Oh dear.
14 with fear.
Look, I'll fist fight this moth if I ask you.
[00:24:39] Speaker A: Don't worry.
Okay. I think.
[00:24:45] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:24:46] Speaker A: Okay. So you make like you look at. Looking at this.
At this gigafailen that's now kind of working on Coraline. You kind of.
You take heart in the fact that you. You've got pretty good idea how long it takes for this thing to do whatever it needs to do.
So you sort of like make a. Make a break for a.
As you get pretty much to where Abe is lying on the ground. And Libby, if you can represent to me what pose Abe is in like frozen in his.
[00:25:23] Speaker B: I think he'll be throwing. He was trying to knock out some bugs, wasn't he?
[00:25:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay. Is the most. The. The look on Abe's face is the most like. It is a perfect capture screenshot of. Of mid combat ape.
But as you go to head over to him, like in your rush, your foot grazes a small bit of kind of rubble, a bit of stone on the ground. And as that rolls away and clatters, the gigafailen turns and looks up at you.
[00:25:59] Speaker D: No, it doesn't.
That's what I think.
That's what I see in my prime premonition.
[00:26:07] Speaker A: Oh, he had that. He had that. Oh, he had that waiting.
[00:26:14] Speaker B: He had that back pocket the whole time.
[00:26:16] Speaker A: Zip Z. Zip, zip, zip.
[00:26:18] Speaker D: Yeah, so I. I think about getting a out and I'm like, wait, hang on.
Okay, that's not gonna work.
[00:26:27] Speaker A: Okay. You.
[00:26:29] Speaker D: Can I get to Cass instead?
[00:26:31] Speaker A: You can? Yeah, absolutely.
I think it'll be. Well, it'll be. If you want to sneak over it. It'll be a finesse check. I turned on the battle music and everything.
[00:26:44] Speaker D: Sorry.
[00:26:47] Speaker E: Cool.
[00:26:48] Speaker D: All right, let's. Let's have a bash at that instead.
I am out of hope. But wait, did. Do I still spend the hope for the thing that didn't technically happen? I have no idea.
[00:27:05] Speaker A: No, because it says if it never happens. So you get Hope back sick.
[00:27:09] Speaker D: That's amazing. All right, so I will.
[00:27:13] Speaker A: I don't get the fear either.
[00:27:23] Speaker D: Okay, so I've got one hope.
I.
This hasn't. This whole sneaking business hasn't been working.
I'm gonna chew on my delicious barrack leaves for an additional two hope.
[00:27:36] Speaker A: Okay.
Varic leaves from Dottie at rifle.
[00:27:44] Speaker D: Thank you.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: Dottie immediately gained two hope. Very good.
[00:27:50] Speaker D: And then I will.
Evolve, transform into a man bear pig with additional strength.
[00:28:03] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:28:06] Speaker B: Man bear pig.
[00:28:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:28:12] Speaker D: And I'm gonna just.
[00:28:13] Speaker A: I'm gonna ravage it.
Okay.
For the benefit of our viewers, can you describe to me exactly what is a man bear pig while I chuck up a picture in the chat?
[00:28:31] Speaker D: It's like if a pig was a bear, but also a leopard.
About 6ft at the shoulder, something like 10ft long, and with a long old piggy snout full of brutal teeth.
I'm going to apply liberally to the moth and then little horn because I'm just. This is what I do.
[00:28:56] Speaker A: And the little guardy horse.
Okay. In which case, as you transform into this great predator and like four. Four hooves on the ground.
Yeah. The. The gigafailand turns to you and lets out this little chitter. And.
[00:29:24] Speaker B: I think that's enough to break us all out of our ice cocoons.
[00:29:32] Speaker A: Amazing. Right, Garda, you have the initiative, as you've sprung from. From hidden position.
[00:29:38] Speaker B: Shouts loudest.
[00:29:39] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:29:40] Speaker D: That's all we need.
Sweet.
Let's hit this guy.
I'm going to run at him and I'm going to beast attack him with my beast.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[00:29:59] Speaker D: This will be plus one because of the evolution.
[00:30:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:30:07] Speaker D: Garde.
[00:30:11] Speaker A: Okay. You charge, but at the last moment, the giga phalan sort of like, moves its, like for all extensive purposes.
It's bizarre to see, but it fundamentally rolls. It can't take off and fly, but it rolls out of the way as you go charging through.
Like, all of the. The charging things in a Legend of Zelda game just tumbles, but you manage to maintain your footing. And the gigafailen looks like it's kind of on its.
In a comma's back foot.
You have missed. The gigafailen sort of like looks to you and.
Lunges forward at you, Rolling a 10 to hit.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: No.
[00:31:10] Speaker A: Okay, so it tries to sort of like claw and bite at you with its little kind of mandibles, and it's like it's pointed like front legs, but it just sort of like, like hits stone as you manage to jump out the way back to you, Cardi.
[00:31:27] Speaker B: All right.
[00:31:28] Speaker D: I'm going to try and trample him into dust.
[00:31:33] Speaker B: Come on.
Big money. Big money. Big money. Big money. Big money.
[00:31:38] Speaker D: Decent money.
[00:31:40] Speaker A: 18:18 With Hope is a hit signal. Significantly easier to hit now it's not flying.
[00:31:47] Speaker D: I'd like to spend my hope for vicious maul to gain to make them temporarily vulnerable and gain a plus one bonus, my proficiency for this attack.
[00:32:00] Speaker A: Oh, hi.
[00:32:03] Speaker D: So let's
[00:32:06] Speaker A: see.
[00:32:07] Speaker D: Plus plus D12.
[00:32:08] Speaker E: Of course.
[00:32:13] Speaker D: Lovely.
[00:32:22] Speaker A: Holy moly. 36.
Wait, did you say this is it was vulnerable?
[00:32:29] Speaker D: It's now vulnerable, yes.
[00:32:30] Speaker A: Is that before or after the damage? Sorry.
[00:32:34] Speaker D: So when you succeed in an attack against a target, you can spend a hope to make them temporarily vulnerable and gain a plus one bonus to your proficiency for this attack. So presumably it's vulnerable.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: Okay, so that's a cool 72 damage.
[00:32:53] Speaker B: Didn't need to get.
[00:32:55] Speaker A: Suffice to say, that is super severe damage.
And as you. What. What does this look like? It's not quite dead, but it may as well be. What does this look like?
[00:33:11] Speaker D: I just. I'm just going to. I'm just going to crazy town on this boy. Like, knock him over. I'm stamping, I'm biting.
Like, whatever I can do to cause harm.
[00:33:25] Speaker A: Sure. Okay.
In which case, as a direct result of your trampling, you fundamentally, you rip this thing's abdomen away from its thorax.
And as it chitter and screeches like one of its wings is buckled and bent, you, like, as you stand there with its back half in your jaws, you watch as it desperately sort of like scrabbles for the exit and few like, his wings kind of fold in. You see the crumpled wing kind of tear as it squeezes its way out. And you watch as it attempts to take flight out into the open. And then where it's only got one and a half wings left, it just like fails flat. And then you hear. You hear it dirt and sort of like roll down the crater and the gigafailen is no longer a threat.
72 damage. Oh, my God.
[00:34:29] Speaker D: Droids are fine.
I'm gonna cool. I'm gonna. I'm gonna turn back into Gardi. Classic.
[00:34:38] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: Picking out bits of moth out of your teeth.
[00:34:41] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:34:46] Speaker A: Poor Garthy. Have you ever had a moth fly in your mouth holler than her? Yeah,
[00:34:56] Speaker D: You'll never know. Doesn't matter.
[00:34:58] Speaker A: So, well, we can turn off that battle music. Yeah, I was going to say. You can stop that now.
[00:35:05] Speaker D: So, yeah, go back to guardi form. Like, just wipe my brow and
[00:35:14] Speaker A: start
[00:35:14] Speaker D: dragging everyone to a big pile That I can do a campfire in the middle of, I guess.
[00:35:18] Speaker A: Sure, sure, sure, sure. Okay. In which case it will take. So as you. You gather everyone together, it's kind of hard work because like, as. As you go to. Especially with Griffin and Coraline, as you go to touch their co.
Like they are sort of. That they're kind of sticky, but in a way that your hat. Like your hands stick to them almost as if they're like flash freezing onto them.
So it becomes difficult. You. You have to effectively like use your cloak to swaddle your hands, to roll them as briefly as you can to sort of minimize contact with the cocoons. But yeah, you manage to break them on the way. Yeah, no, I didn't need his left leg.
No, luckily, luckily, like they. They roll relatively easily because of the way these kind of ice cocoons have been molded.
But yeah, you manage to gather everyone together if you're using your. Presumably your wild touch to create a campfire.
[00:36:32] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. Just to make a little campfire and wait.
[00:36:37] Speaker A: Sure, sure, sure. In which case you successfully make. Well, you absolutely make the campfire it. As it begins to warm. You watch as your companions begin to fall.
It takes a while to. For this kind of pseudo magical ice to melt down, but it is. It is melting down. Sure enough.
Gy. You have to sit like as you sit and wait for and like checking out. Checking to make sure everyone's not going to lose any fingers or toes or whatnot rolling them.
[00:37:14] Speaker B: Even cook.
[00:37:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
By the time everyone falls, I will advance the exos. Advance clock.
[00:37:27] Speaker F: Is that a long rest? Is that a long rest? We got inside the.
[00:37:30] Speaker B: Oh, right now.
[00:37:31] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:37:31] Speaker B: It's a lovely sleep.
[00:37:34] Speaker A: Gardy would like a short rest.
[00:37:37] Speaker F: Are we not well rested?
[00:37:39] Speaker B: I.
Hello, Venice. You know what?
[00:37:42] Speaker D: Why not? I'll.
Yeah. Sit back and toast a marshmallow over the fire while these fools are dripping out.
[00:37:50] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. You know how in every Alien film, like when the crew come out of cryosleep and they're just like, ah, kill me. That's kind of what the five of you included Coralina feeling like as you begin to.
Kind of as you begin to fall.
Yes. You have successfully seen away the gigafailing and Garda. You kind of have a good idea that they want return. The others won't return for a while.
[00:38:18] Speaker D: Does anyone have any wounds I can tend to?
[00:38:23] Speaker A: Does anyone?
[00:38:24] Speaker B: I do.
[00:38:26] Speaker E: And Abe does, I think as well.
[00:38:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:29] Speaker D: Oh, yeah.
[00:38:30] Speaker A: I'll.
[00:38:31] Speaker D: I mean, Abe's got a million HP in the armor of your own. Yeah.
While Griffin is starting to thaw out. Oh, back together.
So yeah, I'll turn to your wounds. I'll clear my stress.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:38:50] Speaker D: I'll prepare.
[00:38:51] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:38:53] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:38:55] Speaker A: So approximately an hour goes by guardians. You kind of tend to these like the other five.
And during your, like during your kind of time, your moment, your time spent contemplating and like you've just, I mean you've got, you've got literally got an hour to kill you.
You notice that you can feel it feels like a chill that's like periodically running up your spine to the base of your skull that makes you like what makes you tense up and you know, let out a pretty violent shiver.
But you quickly acknowledge that there's something a bit more magical about it.
And in the, in perhaps a moment where you peer out of the, the, the crevice entrance to kind of see the breadth of the crater in its, you know, it's kind of layout, you kind of get the impression you have like this must be Pfizer's lair based on the descriptions given to you by the villagers of Riceville. Now this must be where Pfizer normally slumbers.
Who's the first to D4? D4.
Who's the first to freeze back up? Who's the first to defrost?
[00:40:36] Speaker D: I reckon maybe Griffin, given that I'm like particularly spending a bit of time
[00:40:42] Speaker B: fetching his wings, rubbing his legs.
[00:40:46] Speaker E: Do I just wake up to see you rubbing my leg?
[00:40:50] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:40:51] Speaker A: The thing is because you probably because you're so cold, you probably can't feel your legs.
[00:40:56] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:40:56] Speaker A: So all you can see is gardy.
[00:41:01] Speaker D: Why am I so happy about it?
[00:41:11] Speaker A: Friends?
Yes.
Griffin, you're, you're the first to, to wake up and.
[00:41:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:41:30] Speaker A: What, what are Griffin's opening words as you regain control of your voice? Core vocal cords again?
[00:41:38] Speaker E: I think, I think Griffin because just before he got frozen, I think that's when they did the, the double team with Cooper again.
[00:41:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:41:51] Speaker E: So I think he's still sort of like, he's in mid celebration of how cool that went.
[00:41:56] Speaker C: And he's just like, you got again
[00:41:58] Speaker A: Griffin and Cooper back in the game.
God.
[00:42:02] Speaker B: What you doing?
[00:42:03] Speaker A: Where are we?
[00:42:06] Speaker D: Good news and bad news.
Bad news.
What? You weren't cool for very long. You. You turned into ice and then you got kidnapped by moths.
[00:42:24] Speaker E: Well, that's a, that's a new one for the books and I'm guessing everyone else is sort of frozen.
[00:42:31] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:42:32] Speaker A: So sort of like as, as the two of you start having this conversation, this little kind of catch up conversation.
Yeah, the by this point, the other four of you begin fully defrosting and g. You sort of look around as you hear the. The various kind of moans and groans as people start like as, as. As you hear your companions get the worst kind of itchy frostbite. Like you know when you get really cold and like your legs start itching and your bum starts and you just like you can hear them going through that but across their whole bodies.
[00:43:12] Speaker D: I've made a large quantity of lukewarm tea for everyone.
[00:43:16] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
In which case, yeah, as everyone sort of like shakes off the post cryo sleep blues.
Yeah. We'll kind of jump forward a little bit. Well, unless there are any conversations that happen the moment you guys kind of come out of deep freeze. What's the good news?
[00:43:43] Speaker D: Seems like we've had a.
A fast track past to fighters lair one way or another.
[00:43:54] Speaker E: Well, every silver lining.
[00:43:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:57] Speaker D: And I think you've still got all of your fingers.
[00:44:01] Speaker E: Yes, yes I do.
[00:44:02] Speaker D: You started with 10.
[00:44:04] Speaker E: Hang on. Yes, yes, I did.
[00:44:06] Speaker A: Perfect.
In which case, yes, the. You managed to kind of pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off and yeah. Before long the six of you are ready to strike out.
Abe you as you take a look around.
What's the chances that you've been to this area of the island before?
[00:44:38] Speaker B: I think probably too many years ago to potentially the entrance but never inside.
I would kind of probably think that we may maybe the village would visit, leave offerings but never come in.
[00:45:00] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case, yeah, Abe, if you like, when we find you at the kind of entrance to this small gigafailing cave, you're kind of scanning the like the crater in front of you and you also spy all of these kind of little entryways, these like cave entrances.
And from what you've been told by like more daring rice vilnar villagers is that this place is a bit of a war foreign.
They're just like all these tunnels are just kind of mostly rat runs but luckily they.
Well, one of the sayings is that all tunnels lead to Pfizer.
Whether or not you believe that and whether or not you want to give that test, that theory is completely up to you.
[00:46:03] Speaker B: I think we'll go down a different way one surely.
[00:46:05] Speaker A: Yeah,
[00:46:08] Speaker F: it's the only way down
[00:46:12] Speaker A: A. The. The one thing you absolutely acknowledge is that there. That there is a.
There is a frigidness in the air like it catches in your lungs. It's almost slightly hard to breathe, it's so cold.
And there's a moment where you, as you rub your hands and into. To warm them up. You notice that the.
Like the war. The. The breath in your hand almost immediately freezes as it reaches your.
Are you still going you. Are you barebacking it or have you all got like cold weather gear from Riceville? Nar.
[00:46:53] Speaker B: I think Abe's story shorts. I can't imagine him now. Do not wear shorts.
[00:46:58] Speaker C: Pure dad energy.
[00:47:00] Speaker A: Pure dad energy.
[00:47:01] Speaker B: There's no ever. There's never a season where you don't wear shorts.
[00:47:04] Speaker E: Who turned up the thermostat?
[00:47:08] Speaker B: But I. I think he's probably wearing like a sort of big.
For his. To hold his axe with.
I imagine like a big fluffy.
Like more of a Sherpa style big coat or something like some.
[00:47:27] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:47:29] Speaker D: It's not.
[00:47:30] Speaker B: Got a hat on or anything.
[00:47:32] Speaker A: No, that's fine. In which case. Yeah. You definitely notice like the. Like the water moisture kind of freezing on your palms within moments and it.
[00:47:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:47:46] Speaker A: Joseph, this isn't right.
[00:47:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
Icicles on his beard.
[00:47:54] Speaker A: So who is leading.
Who's leading the way from this gigafailen cave into Pfizer's lair proper?
[00:48:03] Speaker B: I don't mind. I think. I think apes just kind of will turn to the. The gang.
Right? Well I guess we just gotta pick one, don't we? It's just pointing towards the. If you got any ideas. You book people. If you've got thoughts.
There's a way to tell a little coldest entrance biggest. I mean she's pretty big. Probably want something quite big. She's gonna get in and she.
[00:48:39] Speaker F: With Cass's arcane sense.
[00:48:42] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:48:43] Speaker F: Can she sense anything?
Anything different about any of the tunnels? I. I assume that this Titan is too big everywhere.
[00:48:53] Speaker A: Feels like magic detect.
Your arcane magic detection is pinging that there is a large source of like arcane emanation down like the arrows pointing down.
Juice elf.
Yeah. It seems to like you. You kind of get. It's slightly stronger if. If you sort of like focus your attention towards like the center of this kind of crater.
But you can see the bottom of this. You know, this crater and the Pfizer is not there. You definitely notice if Fizer was in the bottom of the crater. So you get the impression she must be in some area underground.
[00:49:38] Speaker F: She is somewhere nearby.
[00:49:40] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:49:42] Speaker D: Based on what Abe said. Do any of the entrances feel cold?
[00:49:47] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:49:52] Speaker B: Is there like. If we had like a coldness meter. Is there one thermometer more.
You're in fantasy. We don't
[00:50:06] Speaker A: fantasy thermometer.
I Absolutely. But there probably is one that I mean Abe would probably certainly tell you that it is certainly colder whether or not that's true or not. But Abe, you what, what is it about this kind of entrance on side of the crater?
What is it that draws your attention besides the fact that you are pretty sure it's colder?
[00:50:34] Speaker B: I feel like it's.
It's got a kind of feels like a sort of tunnel of like misty cold. So it's kind of got like cold vapor coming out. Vapor coming out of it. It feels like it's got some kind of something as recently or I don't know, it's got some kind of cold energy going on. It's got a vibe.
[00:51:09] Speaker A: It's got fine. Got cold vibe.
In which case, as.
As you kind of declare to everyone that this is your entrance and the six of you bite him and the six of you descend into the T like the tunnels of Fizer's lair, I would like to reveal our brand new Dagger heart Dungeon Del mechanics.
So for the benefits of anyone watching, the way that we're going to do this like little dungeon crawl is to like the players are going to kind of go ahead and describe what it is that takes her interest, what they see that's exciting.
Just as we have done on the journey into like to this point and that will make sure that we're all kind of wowed and amazed by the magicalness of the place.
There are a number of things you can do within this dungeon. You can either explore its secrets, which is a six clock and functionally you tell me what it is that has piqued your interest and why and how you're going to explore it to try and plumb some secrets from it.
You can hunt for roaming threats, so the generic kind of monsters in a dungeon and you can preemptively strike against them, or you can search for loot, in which case you tell me like what part, like what's caught your attention and like how your invert comes gonna get there, like to see if it's got some shinies.
Each of those will be action rolls as normal, like using the clocks as normal.
However, in the background there will be a hidden clock of an of a set number of segments that I have not told you about that will trig with a trigger that I have not told you about. So you don't have forever to explore this place because when that hidden clock hits zero, you will have found the big boss door.
And yes, the, the, the keeper of this lair will perhaps come to you.
So yes, we have the explore clock, the hunt clock and the loot. Clock and my binary and the hidden.
The hidden kind of dungeon clock. So who would like to like. Let's start with Abe. As you're leading the way.
What would you like to do in this place?
[00:54:03] Speaker B: I would like to hunt down something to kill.
[00:54:08] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:54:09] Speaker A: Okay.
I'm just gonna test something.
Oh yeah, it works. Okay, fine.
So you're going to hunt for something. So as you, well as you descend, like follow this tunnel.
You like. The tunnel is relatively kind of one way.
There are a few points where it branches, but presumably a view.
You, you absolutely know the way. There is no need to ask for directions.
And before long you emerge into this like large cavern.
The like with this incredibly high ceiling.
Like you enter like near. Nearish this. I say near the ceiling. Sort of like 20ft from the ceiling. But the pathway that you're on effectively like snakes backwards and forwards down into the basin of this. Of this large cavern.
But the thing that takes your notice is that the. There are all these large icicles kind of hanging from the ceiling, hanging from kind of jutting out rocks and pillars and ledges.
And the icicles are seemingly chiming like, almost like they're singing.
And there's this eerie kind of unearthly harmony, this song, this chorus that kind of reverberates around the room and like echoes off the wall.
And I'm gonna ask Cooper, as you hear this song, this stalactite choir, what emotion does it surge to the. Like surge to the top with?
[00:56:22] Speaker C: I think it, I think it makes him quite peaceful.
Like the, the situation is quite like nerve wracking.
[00:56:31] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:56:32] Speaker C: But for a moment there's calm.
[00:56:35] Speaker A: Sure.
[00:56:36] Speaker C: Like the calm before a storm.
[00:56:38] Speaker A: Sure, sure.
Okay.
In which case, yeah, Cooper, as you sort of like take a breath and you feel the cold in your lungs and you listen to this kind of harmony. Me, What like you, you go to say who. Who do you want to express?
Who. Like who is it you turn to to say something to.
[00:57:11] Speaker C: I think, I think actually I think I might mention something to Guardi. I think Guardi would appreciate.
And I know Cooper and Guardi haven't spoken much directly. I feel like it be a good way of them like I don't know, breaking the ice as it were, as it goes. Like it's so. Yeah, I think, I think maybe they're. They're walking closer together. Maybe Cass is determinedly near the front and maybe, maybe either Griffin's next to them or just ahead.
I feel like Griffin's are far away anyway and apes leading.
Cooper's just like this actually sounds quite
[00:57:50] Speaker A: nice as you say that Cooper, that you. You go to say. That actually sounds quite nice. And what comes out is a.
And you pause for a second as that cold in your lungs grips your chest slightly and you cough for a few moments and your voice returns.
[00:58:22] Speaker C: That wasn't good.
[00:58:24] Speaker A: It's almost as if the choir had stolen your voice for a moment.
[00:58:31] Speaker C: Yeah,
[00:58:35] Speaker B: But that.
[00:58:36] Speaker E: That's.
[00:58:37] Speaker A: That's Cooper.
That's the noise. Cooper broken.
In which case. Yeah, Cooper, as you sort of like look at G, somewhat confused, a little bit incredulously.
Hey, what is. What are you doing? Like, how are you best search? Like, how are you looking for your quote? Worry.
[00:59:04] Speaker B: He's just.
He just feels like an ambush is constantly around the corner.
He's quite on edge after.
He's never been frozen and removed from an area before. That's a very new experience for him.
[00:59:22] Speaker E: He's probably never been carried before.
[00:59:24] Speaker B: Didn't like. Yeah, never been carried before. It's very completely.
[00:59:29] Speaker C: It's a very strong moth out of.
[00:59:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I should. There'll be like five of them just like.
So he's just kind of looking as sort of around. Looking up to see if there's anything like on the top of where he's going or behind large icicles.
[00:59:54] Speaker A: In which case roll me an insight check as you scope to see.
[00:59:59] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:00:01] Speaker A: What's round.
[01:00:04] Speaker B: Oh, wait, wait. Sorry. Just found. You just asked me to reload it. Said you hadn't done anything.
[01:00:12] Speaker A: Load it again.
You're not playing enough.
[01:00:15] Speaker B: Not playing.
[01:00:16] Speaker D: I got bo.
[01:00:20] Speaker A: Okay, tell you what, I'll hide exo's advance just so it doesn't.
[01:00:24] Speaker B: Did you say a strength check?
[01:00:26] Speaker A: No, an insight.
[01:00:31] Speaker B: Insight.
That's 11 with hope.
[01:00:42] Speaker A: 11 with hope.
[01:00:45] Speaker B: Nada one.
[01:00:50] Speaker A: Okay, you.
You look around and you're trying to. Trying your best to find what it is that's going to get the jump on you.
And with an 11 with hope, you will gain your hope.
But you don't manage to spy the danger that's. That's lurking as from the icicles overhead you like a number of figures begin to sort like in almost like slight drip. More pull away from the. From the icicles.
And.
You watch as like you are caught unaware. Like you're caught by surprise as a number of floating humanoid shapes with these long arms that kind of reach down past their kind of pinpoint feet.
They detach from the. From the stalactites of a. From on the ceiling and they begin to kind of float down towards you.
And as you. As they get the jump on you.
They will.
They float down towards you. And.
So they float down towards you, Abe, and they make a.
Like one of them swings a claw at you, and it will mark a stress to do.
[01:02:53] Speaker F: So
[01:02:55] Speaker A: there's a 20 hit.
[01:02:56] Speaker B: A 20 hits.
[01:02:58] Speaker A: Okay, 20 hits. In which case.
[01:03:02] Speaker B: Oh, oh, a chili embrace.
[01:03:05] Speaker A: Oh, I've done done it wrong. Oh, never chili embrace.
Right.
Roll damage. There we go. Right. So as it.
It's like swings out at you with this like, clawed hand for 19 hit point. Like 19 damage.
And as it slashes across you.
Are you like how much?
[01:03:33] Speaker B: Yeah, armor. I mean, that's my mind. It's not. That's below my.
That's my major. Doesn't hit my major threshold. It's minor damage.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: Okay. Are you spending armor?
[01:03:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I just spend armor. Your shield up.
[01:03:46] Speaker A: In which case, as you bring your shield up and the claw rakes across it, you feel this ice begin to kind of. This ice is left in the wake of the claw scratch. And your arm fit suddenly feels a bit numb from the cold. Your next action is at disadvantage.
And as these kind of five, like ice elementals kind of drift around you, you notice that the song that you are hearing seems to be emanating from them.
And as they sort of like trill, like, as they kind of harmonize with these somewhat discordant notes, Cass. You notice that within their bodies, like, whilst they seem to be made of this relatively clear looking glass, there seems be to. To be this kind of red, sickly, almost blood red, like crystal that moves through it almost like a. Like a solid blood of sorts.
And your arcane sense, like, it suddenly feels like a punching headache in your. Just above your eyebrows.
And you acknowledge that this red.
This redness that you see is arcane crystallization.
It is corruption.
Who's going. Who's taking the first turn?
[01:05:14] Speaker E: I'll take a quick turn.
[01:05:15] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:05:16] Speaker E: Just to hearing this song, actually trying to play something louder to try and drown it out. And I'll use that to sort of give everyone a rally dice.
And I'll also use my maestro ability, my subclass, to also add the fact that if you use your rally dice, you can gain a hope or clear a stress.
[01:05:41] Speaker B: Okay, very nice, Very nice.
[01:05:43] Speaker A: So if you click rally through to the chat and you can still do an. You can still do a roll if you want to do a roll. Oh, do I.
They are clustered.
[01:06:03] Speaker C: Temptation.
Surely they'll be more vulnerable to fire as well.
[01:06:08] Speaker A: Go on then.
[01:06:12] Speaker E: While. While Griffin's then playing this song, he's.
[01:06:15] Speaker B: He.
[01:06:15] Speaker E: He Sort of just starts playing faster and louder.
And with that, it's a fireball.
[01:06:25] Speaker A: Do you shred out a fireball?
[01:06:27] Speaker E: Yeah.
Where are you? You are in.
[01:06:33] Speaker A: So, yeah, these things are flying above you like, a little bit away, but they're. They're kind of clustered that they're almost like ballet dancing around one another as. And then they're. They're pinpointing their needle like legs. Almost look like they're dancing through the air. But fortunately, they are clustered enough for a fireball.
[01:06:53] Speaker E: With that, I'll also. I'll spend a. Hope to do. I've got your back experience.
Because I'm just. I'm playing for everyone. I'm playing for everyone in the room.
Let's go.
[01:07:09] Speaker B: Is that crit?
[01:07:10] Speaker C: It's a critical. That's a crit. That's a crit.
[01:07:12] Speaker A: That's a crit.
Roll the DE.
[01:07:21] Speaker C: Will it beat 72? This is the big question.
[01:07:24] Speaker A: Yeah. 72 is the number to beat right now.
It's so big.
You finally did it.
[01:07:47] Speaker C: So proud of you.
[01:07:48] Speaker D: How does it have a plus 65?
What's happening?
[01:07:54] Speaker A: Because when you crit, you take the max result of all of your dice, and then you roll the dice on top.
So that is 3D 20 plus 60 plus 5.
Are they dead? Dan?
Did I do it? Did you do it? Did you do it? Let me have a look.
Let me have a look.
Nate, describe to me what happens.
I think he's.
[01:08:27] Speaker E: Yeah, I think Griffin just playing so fast to try and. And so loud to try and, like, try and, like, trying the. Trying to just get rid of the music that they're emanating, that it all just conjures up just this massive fireball. And he's just. He's not quite sure what he's doing himself. And he just shouts for everyone to get down. And as it just.
[01:08:55] Speaker A: Just boom.
[01:08:56] Speaker B: Straight out of his Constantine just hits the deck.
[01:09:03] Speaker A: Okay. In which case these ice elementals are absolutely incinerated.
Like, we've got true full metal alchemist vibes. Like, with lust just that happens to the five of them. And as their icy bodies melt away, Griffin, as the explosion kind of putters out, Cass, you, all of you, you watch as these kind of red crystalline chunks that were within them, like, charred and blackened, they sort of like, just fall out of the sky where these ice elementals were and kind of crash and smash against. Against the. The floor of the. The cavern down below. And with that, you have successfully dealt with
[01:09:57] Speaker B: Hunt,
[01:09:59] Speaker A: one of the roaming packs.
Very good.
Think Griffin's just standing there like just. Just breathing really heavily.
[01:10:10] Speaker C: Just like.
[01:10:11] Speaker B: Hey. Just gives him a massive pout at the back.
Brilliant.
[01:10:15] Speaker C: Cooper's.
[01:10:16] Speaker D: Well, sounds like three hope for me.
[01:10:18] Speaker B: Yeah, that was great. Free hope.
[01:10:27] Speaker A: Okay, so as you soldiers bond with Griffin, that takes Griffin up to five hope, I believe.
Cool.
[01:10:39] Speaker B: Right?
[01:10:39] Speaker A: So who's next?
Yeah, the. The. The singing in this hall in. In this cavern is now quietened significantly.
[01:10:54] Speaker B: Is there any of the crystals that came off of them? Are they dust? Can we see any of them? Are they on the floor?
Something that we could explore?
[01:11:03] Speaker A: If someone would like to explore to investigate the crystals, by all means.
[01:11:08] Speaker E: Sorry, quick question because I got a crit. Do I get a hope as well for that?
[01:11:11] Speaker A: Yes. So you're actually up to six. Yeah, Sorry.
Yes. Who. Who would like to. Who would like to go next? And yes, there is a prime explore opportunity here.
[01:11:26] Speaker F: Cass would like to explore.
[01:11:28] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case, how are you approaching? Like, what is it? The crystals that fell out of these elementals that you're looking for?
[01:11:43] Speaker F: I think that they are an interest, but it's more kind of. Okay, so obviously there is a link between the crystallization in these things and the link between that emphasizer. Are they in some way symbiotic to her? Are they like what they called those bugs people have on them and you know, everyone is a ecosystem of stuff.
Is it that kind of thing?
[01:12:09] Speaker A: Sure, sure.
In which case, which ability are you using and are using any experiences what they're called?
[01:12:21] Speaker F: So I definitely have an experience for this researcher.
[01:12:26] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah.
And which ability score you rolling out?
[01:12:32] Speaker F: But I imagine knowledge.
[01:12:35] Speaker A: Yeah, sounds good. Sounds good.
Okay. On 18 with hope that.
Okay, so as you. You kind of take the. The front. You take the lead ahead of Abe as you kind of hurry down this snaking walkway into the cave proper. And interestingly, as you get to the bottom, there's sort of like icicles growing from the ground up as well. So for a moment, it almost feels like you're kind of walking through a forest again.
Just a. A forest made of these kind of, you know, large icy kind of spikes of sorts.
And so your line of inquiry was sort of like the symbiosis. Yeah. Is there a symbiosis? Is there.
[01:13:32] Speaker F: Is it a way to kind of. You can use it to then track where she might be?
[01:13:42] Speaker A: You find off the back of an 18 with hope. You find.
And that's two segments of the.
The explore clock ticked up. Congratulations.
You find the crystal fragments and luckily one of them is still relatively intact.
[01:14:06] Speaker B: You.
[01:14:06] Speaker A: You Know that crystallization is the result of too much arcane mana in a sink, in a source of. In a body of whatever.
And if that body happens to be a living body, then that's pretty disastrous. And until your conversation with Galena,
[01:14:27] Speaker E: like
[01:14:28] Speaker A: within the sort like last 12 hours, that, you know, that was a one way, one way ailment.
But something that piques your interest is that as you go to approach this crystal, you get this almost like flash in your mind and you get this sudden feeling of sort of like fight or flight.
And you, like, it's shocking. But then you acknowledge that that's not your fight or flight that's triggering.
It almost feels like it's the crystals.
Like the crystal is trying to escape you.
[01:15:17] Speaker F: I've got to make it flight.
[01:15:23] Speaker A: But the. The thing that makes you kind of furrow your brow the most is that arcane mana doesn't have sentience.
So why is this crystal reacting to you?
This is crystallization, but it's not quite right.
Something odd about it.
You also.
Yes, I'll leave it there. There's something. Yeah, the. The corruption is living.
[01:16:03] Speaker F: That's not terrifying, is it?
[01:16:06] Speaker B: Strawberry flavor.
[01:16:11] Speaker A: Okay. Congratulations. We've ticked three at two of the six explore clock segments.
Who would like to go next?
Who's taking the lead?
Guardian? Guardior Griffin.
[01:16:32] Speaker E: I can go. I'm happy to go.
I'm gonna go look for some loot.
[01:16:40] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:16:41] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:16:44] Speaker A: So what in this.
Describe to me what. In this cavern, you.
You describe to me what takes your notice as a potential location for some loot.
[01:16:57] Speaker E: I think there's sort of like a. Like a small ledge that's sort of jutting up that's sort of jutting out from a wall.
And sort of in that ledge, surprisingly, is like actually some crates like we weren't completely sure about. Like, why would there be. Like maybe some animal has picked them up and sort of put them in there, but sort of like broken. Sort of like broken wood that looks like it's been formed into crates at some point.
[01:17:29] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:17:29] Speaker A: Okay.
Which ability are you using to.
To get to. To look for said loot?
Like, it could be an agility to climb up to it or could be a presence to rummage around once you get there. You know, that sort of thing.
Yeah.
[01:17:49] Speaker E: If I can do.
[01:17:49] Speaker C: Could we tag team maybe?
[01:17:51] Speaker E: Yeah, I was gonna say, could I do a little tag team and someone can give me a boost?
[01:17:55] Speaker C: I'll help.
[01:17:56] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:17:56] Speaker E: Give me.
[01:17:57] Speaker A: Are you tag teaming or helping?
[01:17:59] Speaker B: Who can.
Who's better with boosting?
[01:18:06] Speaker E: Dragon Man?
[01:18:07] Speaker B: Little Ratty Dragon ball.
[01:18:08] Speaker C: I'm six foot tall.
[01:18:15] Speaker B: You are five foot two.
[01:18:22] Speaker C: I know he has small amount energy. I wonder where he gets it from. But he's 6 foot tall so he can help with.
[01:18:31] Speaker E: I think Griffin's going to say, hey Cooper, give me a boost. I'm going to just look up there real quick.
[01:18:37] Speaker A: Sure.
[01:18:38] Speaker C: Okay, no worries.
[01:18:39] Speaker A: Okay, so if Cooper spends a hope that will give Griffin advantage.
[01:18:47] Speaker E: And I'm going to do. I'm going to do an agility for a little boost.
[01:18:51] Speaker A: Okay, so it's the actual scramble up.
[01:18:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:18:59] Speaker E: I mean it's not great.
It's a 12 with hope.
[01:19:03] Speaker A: 12 with hope.
You.
Cooper goes to give you a boost up and you. It's not. You don't like kick Cooper in the face or anything but like so Cooper manages to get you higher than you perhaps might have been able to get yourself. But as you kind of, you get up to the ledge and as you sort of like peer and you start slipping back down and you, yeah, you, you slide back down, somewhat dejected, probably in like a slump, somewhat crab position like in front of, in front of Cooper. You. So you do gain your hope, but unfortunately, yeah, you have not found anything. No.
[01:19:54] Speaker E: No loot.
[01:19:55] Speaker A: No loot. If you wanted to do a swap, you could boost Cooper up, see if Cooper's got a better shot.
[01:20:01] Speaker E: Yeah, I'll give you, I'll give you a hope.
[01:20:05] Speaker C: Is that an agility check, Dan?
[01:20:07] Speaker B: Agility?
[01:20:08] Speaker A: Yes. Or if you've got something else that you could use.
I mean bear in mind if you've got any sort of like loadout abilities that you could use to in. In lieu of a. A role, by all means use those.
[01:20:25] Speaker C: No, but I do have. My experience is street smarts and I feel like jumping around looking for loot does kind of come under my, my experience. So sure, I'll use that. So I'll do agility with ma street smart experience.
And it will be an advantage if I spend the hope.
[01:20:48] Speaker E: If I spend the hope and then it's an advantage.
[01:20:50] Speaker A: Yeah. So you get plus whatever from your experience then plus these like you get advantage of Griffin. Cool.
[01:20:57] Speaker C: Okay, let's see what happens.
[01:21:01] Speaker E: Oh, crap.
[01:21:04] Speaker C: Jesus Christ.
[01:21:05] Speaker A: That's a.
[01:21:05] Speaker B: That's a top tier crit.
[01:21:06] Speaker C: I'm enjoying this.
[01:21:08] Speaker A: Holy moly. Right, so you gain a hope.
[01:21:10] Speaker B: So mark that on raids down.
[01:21:15] Speaker C: Just like cash money, money
[01:21:20] Speaker B: little goblin up there.
[01:21:21] Speaker A: Okay, so I'm gonna say so the way that we're working the loop is basically every time you successfully find loot, I will tick up the counter. And that counter will dictate how many D12s we have to spend on rolling on the loot table at the end of the day.
Now you.
You so realistically max D12 that you've added to the. To the pool.
So, yeah, in your own heads kind of figure out the. The narrative of it. But fundamentally, yeah, there are three 3D12 in the loophole and obviously you choose how you divvy out those roles, those D12s. The loot table goes up to 60 and you can roll a maximum of five D12 at a time.
And obviously the better stuff is higher up, so.
But yeah, congratulations, you've got a piece of. Well, you've got some very good loot, hopefully.
What's Cardi doing?
[01:22:38] Speaker D: I also feel the greed, Dan.
I desire loot.
[01:22:44] Speaker A: Would you. You like to loot here or do you want to kind of go further into the K, into the cavern and search the next area?
[01:22:53] Speaker D: Oh, I mean, they've got all the good stuff here. We'll get it.
[01:22:56] Speaker A: I mean, yeah, to be fair.
To be fair.
In which case,
[01:23:04] Speaker C: as.
[01:23:05] Speaker A: So Guardi is you kind of you.
I, I presume that's Guardian Guardi, pseudo chasing Cass and therefore being kind of more at the front of the party.
And as you make your way through some more twisting, turning tunnels, corridors, there's a. There's a ledge that you have to, like, there's a bit of a ledge you have to climb down. There's a. Like a bit of a gulch that you have to navigate your way through.
You find yourself in like, as you're moving through this gulch, you notice, Gardi, that the ice that forms the walls either side of you seems to be getting smoother and smoother until it's almost mirror smooth.
And as usual, like, peer at yourself.
Like, to your left, you can just see an infinite number of yourselves stretching out either side of you like reflections from these icy mirrors.
And then as you stop to peer at it a bit closer, you. I mean, there's an ever so slight kind of delay in your reflections as they move off.
There's some. Something that catches your eye is that some of them don't seem to be mirroring you.
And you almost feel yourself kind of carried away, almost as if in a bit of a daydream.
And tell me a point, a moment in time in the future that can go either way.
Like, that can either be. Have an amazing outcome or a terrible outcome.
Oh, maybe it's something that's been on Guardi's mind, something he's been thinking about moving forward. Or.
[01:25:40] Speaker D: I mean, that's probably. Probably just our big. Lots of big lads and big ladies.
Okay. Trying to fix up.
[01:25:49] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case, as you look one way, your mind is filled with visions of the aisles, the Titan isles in perfect equilibrium, imbalance.
The.
The. The embrace of Faiza and Burunan once again returning everything to equality in nature and the island flourishing, prospering.
And as you turn to look the other way, your mind is filled with visions.
Of panicked screams, of ghoulish wails as people desperately flee, tripping over themselves, scattering upon the wind in the face of this encroaching shadow that engulfs the land, sundering it in two with a blistered and burning axe.
With eyes of burning green and devilish looking horns protruding from his skull, a lock of blood red hair blowing in the ashy winds.
And then you're back in the chasm.
Where in this gulch or. Or perhaps just after it, just before it. Do you think you might find some treasure?
[01:27:59] Speaker D: I think there's one patch of ice that we passed that is not reflective. It's not as reflective as the rest.
It's a little dull. And that looks to be because there's something embedded in it that.
That's making it a little bit more cloudy than the rest.
[01:28:20] Speaker A: Sure.
[01:28:22] Speaker D: So I guess the member of our party that we haven't engaged yet, I'll ask for some help. So I'll be like Corinne now. I'm lying. I'll be like
[01:28:37] Speaker B: big lapse, just holding his ex.
[01:28:44] Speaker A: So bear in mind whilst Coraline is in your party, just as a little reminder, you can use her two experiences of battle tactica and arcane manipulation.
And she can ensorce all your weapons to make basically make you do more damage.
[01:29:05] Speaker D: Exciting stuff. Yeah.
[01:29:06] Speaker A: So user experiences should just spend a hope as normal.
[01:29:09] Speaker D: I. I don't need unsorled weapons. I need. I need burly biceps.
[01:29:13] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:29:16] Speaker D: So can I.
Oh, bless him.
Can I use my nomad born thing that I've never bothered to use before my nomadic pack back? I'll have a little fish about.
[01:29:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:29:40] Speaker D: Which allows me to once per session for a hope, pull an item that will be useful in this situation somehow.
[01:29:48] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:29:48] Speaker D: And I see if I've got an ice pick somewhere in there that we maybe used to use when we were up in the northern ends of the plains.
[01:29:57] Speaker A: My good sir, for one hope it's the best ice pick you've ever seen.
[01:30:02] Speaker D: Holy.
[01:30:03] Speaker A: Holy moly.
[01:30:04] Speaker D: Incredible.
[01:30:05] Speaker A: Look at this thing just be crusted It's a marbled ice pick,
[01:30:17] Speaker D: EB.
I think there's something in there and I've got just a tool for it, but.
Care to give us a hand, big man?
[01:30:26] Speaker B: Looks like a little toothpick in a.
Oh, all right, I'll give her a go.
Can Abe do smash, please?
[01:30:41] Speaker A: Yeah. So gotta you handing over your. Your. Your best. Your best ice pick.
[01:30:46] Speaker D: Yeah, in a way that could be construed as assisting, if possible.
[01:30:50] Speaker A: Okay, so if Gardi wants to help Abe do the ice picking, Gardi will need to spend another hope and Abe makes the roll and then this will. Yeah, I reckon a strength trick because I. Ice picking is not delicate.
Elegant. Is he.
[01:31:14] Speaker B: That. My goodness. Strength.
So advantage. Yes.
[01:31:21] Speaker A: Adventure.
A20 with hope.
So.
So, Abe, if you tick up your hope, I know you're maxed out, right?
[01:31:36] Speaker B: Maxed.
[01:31:37] Speaker A: Oh, you're max. Okay.
In which case, a 20 with hope. So I tick up the hidden clock and a success with hope increases your loot by 5.
As through Guardi's kind of discerning eye and Abe's brute force. Yeah. You manage to unearth two more D12s for the loot pile.
Amazing. Amazing.
Who.
So with more. More loot in the pile, who would like to take the next role? Like, who would. Who would like to step up first? Next?
[01:32:19] Speaker C: I'm good. I think. I haven't done one of my own yet.
[01:32:22] Speaker A: Okay, go. Keep it going.
[01:32:24] Speaker C: Can I explore? I feel like we need to get some more exploring going on.
[01:32:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
So what is it in this? I say, this gulch, this mirror gulch describes him, what you see within it that makes you think, oh, this will kind of tell us more secrets.
So beg my pardon, because I've forgotten to actually say what exploring does fundamentally, as you fill up the explore clock, that will reduce the difficulty of certain actions in a boss fight that may or may not happen.
[01:33:03] Speaker C: Oh, great. Okay.
[01:33:04] Speaker A: So you're learning the secrets of this area. Yeah.
[01:33:09] Speaker E: Cool.
[01:33:12] Speaker C: I mean, is it like this sort of gulch, Is it worth, like, trying exploring where if, like, there's any kind of, you know, the way that, like, wind passes through certain areas and you can find out where exits are and stuff like that. Is that. Is that something that I can kind of ascertain, like the best direction towards walk?
[01:33:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, if.
It could absolutely be, you know, you could frame your explore as you're kind of looking for the best pass, best. Best path forward. But then you might even stumble across a se. Sure, sure.
[01:33:51] Speaker C: That sounds. That makes sense to me. Like goop.
I think so. The best one would be in a
[01:33:58] Speaker A: comma scout on the head. Yeah. What. What skill are you using? Him?
[01:34:01] Speaker C: I think I'll use.
I'll use instinct.
[01:34:07] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:34:08] Speaker C: But I will use.
[01:34:10] Speaker A: I think.
[01:34:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll.
[01:34:11] Speaker F: I'll.
[01:34:11] Speaker C: I'll add my, like, street smart experience because that's something I imagine Cooper's usually very good at figuring ways out of situations. That's something he grew up doing. So I'll add that on one of my hoops, see if that helps at all.
[01:34:31] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:34:32] Speaker C: So that's street smart.
[01:34:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:34:36] Speaker C: Fortunately, it's only a plus one for my air, my instincts, but we'll see how it goes.
[01:34:42] Speaker E: Okay.
[01:34:42] Speaker C: Right.
[01:34:46] Speaker F: Nice.
[01:34:47] Speaker C: So not bad.
It's a bit further.
[01:34:51] Speaker A: A 20 to you. With fear.
That is a success.
So we mark the explore clock up by one with fear.
[01:35:11] Speaker B: You.
[01:35:15] Speaker A: Describe to me the existence it. That you find.
[01:35:22] Speaker C: I feel like, because there's all these, like, mirror images. So I think it's actually quite hard to see an exit. Like, I see, like, there's like lots of different versions of us kind of.
And I think.
I think like the light hits in a certain way that kind of captures.
I can exit the cavern, but it's quite small compared to the entrance I'm picturing in my head.
[01:35:53] Speaker A: Okay.
In which case, as you like, you've kind of climbed up a little bit to.
Yeah, I imagine the. The gulch. The gulch is actually kind of twisting and turning to a certain extent. So it's almost being in a. Like being in a mirror maze to a certain extent.
But as you're going to get some height to kind of break the. The illusion, like to break the perception of the reflections, you spy this entrance, you spy this exit.
And as you see the way out, and it's. That's in your mind, the way out, you hear, flee.
Flee to me in the back of your mind.
And you lose your footing and slide back down into the gulch as the cavern rumbles.
And who's at the back of the group? Who's at the back of the pile?
I imagine it might be able guardi if you stop.
So Abe, you feel like you slip slightly as the. As this cavern shakes and as you sort of like pick yourself up and wonder what's happening, because I suspect the first. The first concern is, oh, is there an earthquake? Are we about to get buried?
The shaking stops suddenly.
And then you hear the sound.
What it sounds like breaking glass.
And as you turn your attention backwards from the way you've just came to see what's making the sound of breaking glass, which you know is probably breaking ice.
You see a sharp red crystal burst out of one of the mirror walls and impale into the wall opposite.
And as you take that in, you hear another crash and another spike emerges from the other wall. And these red crystal shards start bursting out of the walls, out of the ice of this gulch. And it's moving towards you.
And Cooper. As you turn and see that the. These like arcane corruption crystal impaling the gulch that you and your companions are in, you hear in your head a third time, flee to me.
And as the gulch start very quickly turns into a deathly spike trap.
Let's grab a ten minute break.
So we will be back in 10 minutes and we will continue our exploration into this, into Pfizer's lair and hopefully figure out what's happening further in. So see you all in 10 minutes.
See in a bit.
Hello and welcome back everyone to Explorers of Elsewhere Live. Hi. Hello. My name is DM Dan. We are the explorers of elsewhere and we are currently spelunking.
Correct. Correct usage of the word as well. We are spelunking. We are heading through a very cold and icy cave system in search of a God.
That's, you know, it's dagger heart, you know, the usual.
And when we left our players last, they were in a gulch, in a mirrory. A mirrored ice. A gulch of mirrored ice that is currently shattering under a. An encroaching kind of barrel of large red crystalline spikes made of what appears to be an arcane crystalline corruption.
So we will jump straight back into it.
Abe and Guardi towards the back of the group.
I. How. How are the two you. How are the two of you? Like, what are you doing to haul ass?
Or is there anything you're doing to kind of stop your impending spiky doom?
[01:40:35] Speaker B: Is it spiking towards us?
[01:40:37] Speaker A: Yes.
Yes. It's like coming out the left wall, coming out the right wall, coming out the floor. Like it's. Yeah.
Looking like a resident evil lab trap.
Can I think.
[01:40:52] Speaker B: Think Abe's gonna get his shield out, Press guard, press Guardi to him, and then shield both of them.
So you're kind of cocooned in.
So any damage will hit Abe and or shield before anything else.
[01:41:13] Speaker D: I also have a.
I also have an idea if I have time.
[01:41:18] Speaker A: Yes. Gone.
[01:41:21] Speaker D: Okay. I'll incur a stress to swap in towering stalk for premonition.
And then I will conjure a towering stalk going from like one side to the other to like push Apart the impending doom of the chasm.
[01:41:43] Speaker A: Okay, so you're trying to like split the gulch, like crack Gulch open a bit more?
[01:41:48] Speaker D: Pretty much, yeah. I'm trying to split that gulch.
[01:41:53] Speaker A: Okay.
Guardi's option sounds a lot more on the nose, so let's go with that.
I think cuz normally it just appears. Right, so you're swapping out for a mission flight stalk. Yes, I've gone ahead and sort that for you.
[01:42:15] Speaker D: Give myself a lovely stress.
[01:42:16] Speaker A: Yeah. I would say make a spell cast. You're making a spell cast. Roll against the environment.
[01:42:21] Speaker C: Ooh,
[01:42:26] Speaker B: Nice.
Nice.
[01:42:28] Speaker A: 23 with hope. Okay. You gain your hope.
I so gardy as you see these spikes kind of like erupting from the surfaces towards you. Abe sort of like grabs you and like protects you. Like brings you in his manly in his big fatherly embrace.
Your shield up and g. You're like, you're seeing the force that these crystal, these arcane crystals are like smashing out of one war like through effectively. They seem to be burrowing through the ice, smashing out one side, piercing right into. Into the neck into the other side. And in your mind you think like not even Abe's going to stop this from turning us into a kebab.
As you conjure your, your stalk and it sort of like rips up through the the ice and sort of like forces like exerts all that pressure on the walls either side.
You hear the floor under your feet crack
[01:43:39] Speaker B: and.
[01:43:39] Speaker D: Oh no.
[01:43:41] Speaker A: All six of you.
As the gulch splits open ever so slightly, a chasm forms under your feet. And the six of you slide down into the crack formed by this enormous stalk kind of growing along the length of the gulch.
And you find yourself sliding into darkness.
[01:44:13] Speaker B: That was 23 with Hope.
[01:44:15] Speaker D: Sorry,
[01:44:19] Speaker B: he's not getting spy.
[01:44:22] Speaker A: And when you like you feel yourselves kind of sliding down this, this kind of sheet of ice further and further into the darkness until you, bro, like you, you, you come to a relatively sudden halt.
And 22 with hope. You have successfully escaped without injury.
[01:44:52] Speaker B: Yay.
[01:44:57] Speaker A: And you find yourself, You find yourself like in a little divot in effect, like you've fallen into a groove where ice meets stone and you realize you've effectively slipped into a lower, a lower cave like cavern area. So clearly the. The cracking of the ice perhaps that it was just a through fair originally and the ice had frozen it up, but where the ice has kind of shifted and like you, yeah, you've been able to slide through. So as the six of you pick yourselves up and Coraline looks at you, Guardi, with some like, incredulous eyes at this rather maverick way of escaping the problem.
You like. She goes to say something to you, but you can't hear it over the relatively loud noise that is circling around this cabin. And it sounds as if you are in the heart of a blizzard.
And as you pick yourselves up like you have, you have to bring your hands up to shield yourself from the. This. This seeming like snow and hail and like frost that's kind of whipping across your faces.
G. You have to like, you know, this is definite. If you don't have your hand on top of it, your hood goes down. Yeah, hood blows back kind of weather. And your scarf, your cloak is flapping wildly.
And as you.
As you look around you, You realize you are stood pretty much on. On the edge of what it almost could be described as a well deeper into the cave.
And this storm seems to be raging around this tunnel down almost like a whirlpool going down the drain.
And it is roaring. It's hard to see particularly far because of the. The sleet and smoke. Snow is hard to hear one another for the roaring winds.
But who.
Yeah. As you kind of stand, you realize you're lucky that you didn't just slide straight down into this well.
But as you stand up, you're. You seem safe enough for now as long as you don't fall into this seat. Like you can't fall see the bottom of this tunnel down.
But who would like to take point?
[01:48:23] Speaker B: I mean, are we high as well?
If we hunt, we can chip off another poor point and then we'll be halfway.
[01:48:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:48:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:48:37] Speaker A: Okay. So is ape hunting.
[01:48:39] Speaker B: Let's hunt.
[01:48:40] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, what are you doing to find your next quarry?
Presumably as the group of you start like trudging your way around this well to see this whirling well to see if you can find an exit.
[01:48:58] Speaker B: I think. I think.
Yeah. Looking for. I think Abe's probably hunted in snowy weather before.
So looking through the snow as if looking for colors that aren't white.
So eyes, feet, anything that isn't part of is. Isn't snow colored.
[01:49:27] Speaker A: Sure.
Okay, so I mean, that sounds like an instinct check.
[01:49:33] Speaker B: That will be instinct.
Can I also use an experience, please, of self sufficient as he is a hunter.
[01:49:53] Speaker A: Oh,
[01:49:56] Speaker B: now.
Fiddlesticks 13 with fear.
[01:50:06] Speaker A: Okay, so Abe, you have marched on ahead.
You are making sure that everyone like you're barking out orders to everyone.
But perhaps unbeknownst to you, no one can really hear you over the roaring of this of this storm, of this internal storm.
And as you like, as you're on the lookout, what you don't notice.
[01:50:42] Speaker B: One little guy that's fine
[01:50:46] Speaker A: is.
Like you're kind of wading through and let's roll.
Okay, so Cass, as you're sort of like you're trudging your way through, through, trying to keep up with Abe, who's. Who's pressing on ahead, you spy movement in the corner of your eye a moment too late.
And you.
You are knocked down by a large insectile creature that looks somewhat mantis like. It's got.
It seems to be walking along on four limbs, almost like, like an ape. But there's another set of limbs emerging from its back with what appear to be two dangerous looking kind of stabbers. And it's got two smaller limbs behind its front limbs tucked into its chest.
This creature leaps out at you and like bowls you over and sort of like it chitters as it starts sort of like trying to claw at you with its front claws and the spikes on its back and yeah, it's just gonna go straight for you with some scything. Talons.
[01:52:18] Speaker F: Nice. Thanks.
[01:52:21] Speaker A: That's a 20 to hit, I'm afraid.
[01:52:23] Speaker F: Yes, I'm pretty. Send the hit.
[01:52:25] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:52:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:52:27] Speaker A: Okay. In which case you are bowled over and you take 22 hit points.
[01:52:35] Speaker F: Where's my.
Not. Not expecting a bug?
[01:52:43] Speaker A: No. And you notice that these things are sort of like, like with their claws and like pincers and kind of blade. They're almost like like driving them into the walls like pitons.
And as you turn up, you see like a small.
I don't know what the, the collective of a horde of mantis like creatures is, but you see like at least five of them cling to what, four of them clinging to the wall, one on top of you. But as you kind of shield yourself as best you can from its, its like reaping scythes, you notice that across its forearms, around its like bug like eyes, like its hexagonal eyes, there are red crystal growths protruding from its flesh, like from its chitin.
That is it.
Who would like to retaliate?
[01:53:37] Speaker F: Can. I think Cass would retaliate? Absolutely.
Preservation blast.
[01:53:42] Speaker A: Oh yes.
[01:53:43] Speaker F: Knock that thing off.
[01:53:45] Speaker A: Yes. Yes.
[01:53:49] Speaker F: I believe that is a. What's that gonna.
I think that's the right
[01:54:00] Speaker A: unleash. That's an unleash chaos.
[01:54:02] Speaker F: Yep.
[01:54:04] Speaker A: Are we.
Are you unleashing as well?
[01:54:08] Speaker F: Oh. Oh, no, wait. That was the wrong. I apologize.
That's the right one. Sorry, I was clicking around trying to work out my armor slots for being hit by a thing.
[01:54:19] Speaker A: Well actually how many like what is 22 is that.
[01:54:24] Speaker F: That is major damage, I believe. And so I've used two armor Sl.
[01:54:31] Speaker A: You can use one.
[01:54:33] Speaker F: One armor slot to take that down to minor.
[01:54:37] Speaker A: Okay. Marvelous. Marvelous.
Hello, Lady Vengeance. Yes. A group of mantis like creatures is called a. No thanks.
Amazing. So yes, as you preservation blast.
If you make a within melee range it is on top of you. So if you make a spell roll against it.
[01:55:02] Speaker F: Oh, that is an instinct, I believe.
[01:55:09] Speaker A: Are you rolling Spicy now?
Okay. 23 with fear is a hit. I'll take the fear.
I don't think I took the fear from Abe's roll earlier. So yes, that is a fear. That is a fear. That is a hit.
Targets you succeed a force back to far range. You know what? There's no need to roll for damage.
You are on the edge of this whirling. Well.
So yeah. As this thing jumps on you and sort of like stabs into your like shoulder as you can sort of like fight. What does the preservation blast look like as you get it off you?
[01:55:46] Speaker F: It's basically just a surge of lightning that kind of usually it radiates out from all points.
[01:55:54] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:55:54] Speaker F: Okay.
[01:55:57] Speaker A: So we know. So the most you can roll is 11 damage on that.
Is there anything you've got that can boost damage if you do want to roll damage? Because you might clip other other of these.
[01:56:09] Speaker F: Don't think so. I think that's it's more of a get it away from me.
[01:56:16] Speaker A: Actually you have got.
Because you have got the thing where if you do something lightningly you can do extra damage.
Spend a hope and describe how your control of lightning helps an action roll.
So would you like to spend a hope for an extra three damage?
[01:56:35] Speaker F: Yes, absolutely. Always.
[01:56:37] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So if you spend your hope and then roll for damage and then we'll add another.
The we'll add another three to it.
[01:56:46] Speaker F: There we go.
Yep.
[01:56:52] Speaker A: Okay, so.
Oh, don't think that rolled damage. See what if you. Oh, so it's D8 plus six right?
[01:57:02] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:57:04] Speaker A: Bam. Oh sorry.
Seven damage. You. Yeah you grapple. The one that's the one that's notches to the ground with a blast of lightning fires off you like head over thorax and it. As it disappears down into the well you watch as it gets caught up in the winds and it's swirled around until it disappears into darkness.
Very, very good. So that was a roll with fire fear. So the.
The creatures, the scientists is they will.
So the four that are clinging to the wall still. They look at the six of you and then curiously, because it. They're like, they've got claws to like anchor themselves into the wall, they bring up their other claws and then they
[01:58:07] Speaker D: start
[01:58:11] Speaker A: like wobbling backwards and forwards
[01:58:15] Speaker F: and so stylish.
[01:58:18] Speaker A: Yeah, I need everyone to also join in the.
Yeah, I need everyone to make me instinct reaction rolls. So bear in mind on your character sheets, when you click on instinct, you can then click on the little arrow to turn it into a reaction proper.
So we got seven frame. Oh, all the D.
[01:58:47] Speaker C: We're all coming.
[01:58:49] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:58:49] Speaker A: Okay. The gods. So we got 7 for 8, a 9 for Griffin, a crit for Guardi, 12 for Cassandre and a 20 for Cooper.
Everyone bar Cooper and Gy.
As you watch these like seonis, like creatures like wobbling backwards and forwards, you find yourselves inexplicably mesmerized.
You are now all entranced until you use your turn. Use your Spotlight to mark 2 stress.
And you are you just kind of.
Those of you that failed just stand there looking a bit dumbfounded. Did so. Yeah. A group of you are literally bugged out between Cooper and Guardi. Who would like to go next?
[01:59:56] Speaker C: What do you think, Guardi?
[01:59:58] Speaker A: It is the crap road.
I think you're on mute him.
[02:00:09] Speaker C: Oh, Tim's. Can Tim hear us?
[02:00:12] Speaker D: Yes, I can. But now I press my.
And I'm back.
Given there's only two of us, do you fancy a double team supreme?
[02:00:22] Speaker C: Let's do it. Let's go.
[02:00:24] Speaker D: I don't have much hope. Do you have sufficient hope?
[02:00:27] Speaker C: I have two hope. So maybe we can't do.
[02:00:31] Speaker D: We can't do it.
I saw a right. That's fine.
[02:00:34] Speaker A: I'll do a hope for help.
[02:00:38] Speaker C: That's true. Like I can. I can. I can give you advantage if you. Something you want me to do?
[02:00:42] Speaker D: Nah, I'll be all right. I'll get them. I'm gonna get them.
[02:00:45] Speaker A: I'll.
[02:00:46] Speaker D: Given that their wiggling appears to be the source of their power, I'm gonna do a good old fashioned entangle and I'm gonna try and restrain two of these two of these chaps.
So let's see.
Oh, have I got my rally dice now?
[02:01:07] Speaker E: Yes, indeed.
[02:01:08] Speaker D: Let's do that. This seems important. Let's. Let's get 18 but scary.
[02:01:19] Speaker E: You can clear a stress or gain a hope from that as well.
[02:01:21] Speaker D: Oh, I can. And you know what? I'm gagging for hope.
So I'm gonna use fearless. Take a couple of stress, but get rid of one of them stress and turn my fear into hope, please.
[02:01:33] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So an 18 with fear is a success.
Oh, with hope.
[02:01:43] Speaker D: So using my fearless abilities.
[02:01:44] Speaker A: Yeah, it is. So I'll drop the. Drop my fear back down to seven.
Okay, so what's the. The Marge, Great question.
[02:01:54] Speaker D: The damage is seven and two of them are restrained with viney vines.
[02:02:05] Speaker A: Okay. So as the vines burst out of the like the wall that these seances are. Scientists are clinging to it also like jitters as it kind of gets flushed down the. The whirling well.
And as you grapple the other two, that distracts them enough that we'll say that you, absolutely everyone can just. Is no longer mesmerized by the dance.
[02:02:37] Speaker D: Oh, nice.
[02:02:39] Speaker A: Very, very good. Okay.
Who.
Cooper, you're not discombobulated.
[02:02:47] Speaker C: Yes, I would like to shoot them with my crossbow, please.
I was gonna say potentially sneak attack as they are restrained. With that. With that.
I don't know. Technically I'm not hidden, but if you're in mid aid range, it would still count. But if they're restrained.
[02:03:07] Speaker A: So what else?
[02:03:08] Speaker C: I'm happy to negotiate.
[02:03:13] Speaker A: You'll be hidden enough because of the blizzard.
[02:03:16] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:03:17] Speaker A: However, the incredibly strong winds make aiming difficult, so it's going to be a disadvantage on ranged attacks.
[02:03:26] Speaker C: Okay, interesting.
[02:03:30] Speaker A: If you wanted to do a stabby stab, then you'd bypass past that and I'd let you still keep hidden because you'd be emerging out of the way.
[02:03:38] Speaker C: Interesting. Okay, I. I will do a stabby step.
[02:03:42] Speaker A: Oh, a stabby stab.
[02:03:44] Speaker C: Don't usually get that close.
Let's do that.
So, yeah, I'm going to do a stabby step with my dagger and use sneak attack. So I'm gonna. I'm gonna see if I can get this to work this time.
I'll do the first.
[02:04:05] Speaker A: And while Coop's doing that, if anyone else wants to take the spotlight next, put your hand up in the combat tracker.
[02:04:12] Speaker C: Can I also add reckless because I'm getting close and personal, which is not usually.
[02:04:20] Speaker A: Yeah, go on. I reckon if you do a little jump, you'll be carried along by the storm slightly for some extra speed. That seems quite reckless.
[02:04:27] Speaker B: Don't get carried along too far.
[02:04:36] Speaker C: Okay, so I'm using a hope. So adding reckless.
But I'm still at disadvantage. I might do I use my rally dice? I feel like it's a map disadvantage. It might balance me out, but.
Sorry, I'll save that for later. I'll see what happens. Let's go.
[02:04:54] Speaker A: You privately. Rotten dice.
[02:04:56] Speaker C: Oh, sorry.
[02:04:57] Speaker A: These are sneak attacks.
[02:05:00] Speaker C: Sorry.
[02:05:00] Speaker D: I got nine.
[02:05:03] Speaker C: I'M so sorry.
[02:05:04] Speaker A: I got a crit.
[02:05:07] Speaker C: I got a nine.
[02:05:08] Speaker A: Tell you what. Tell you what. It never happened. Theo, go ahead and write publicly.
[02:05:14] Speaker C: Okay. Let me make sure I. I promise
[02:05:16] Speaker A: I will do it.
[02:05:20] Speaker C: Because I did actually.
I've selected.
Hang on. Public roll. Okay.
[02:05:25] Speaker B: I've selected. Oh, yeah, I've selected private.
[02:05:28] Speaker C: Sorry.
Let's go back and do that again.
I'm now actually tempted to add my rally dice after that shockingly bad roll.
[02:05:41] Speaker A: As an aside, if you would like to.
Bear in mind, you have all got Coraline on hand, so for a hope she can give you, she can in source or she can coach your attacks with Blue Flame.
[02:06:01] Speaker C: Sure. Let's do that. How do I do that?
[02:06:03] Speaker A: Spend a. Hope I'll use.
[02:06:06] Speaker C: Yes. So, okay, so that's.
[02:06:09] Speaker B: That's.
[02:06:09] Speaker C: That's too hope that I'm using. So yeah.
[02:06:12] Speaker A: And then basically just roll an extra damage dice.
So an extra day, I think if That's.
[02:06:19] Speaker C: If I banned it. So let's see what happens. Right. Rolling.
That was public.
It says public on my. On my screen.
I promise I'm rolling publicly.
It's better by one. It's a roll with fear.
[02:06:39] Speaker B: So.
[02:06:39] Speaker A: So tell you what. Hang on, hang on.
[02:06:42] Speaker C: Please just roll it, Dan.
[02:06:43] Speaker B: I didn't.
[02:06:44] Speaker C: I promise I'm rolling public.
[02:06:46] Speaker A: So it's a small dagger.
You got no advantage.
[02:06:56] Speaker C: Oh, I was. I was doing reckless.
[02:07:00] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Y. Yep. Yep. Okay. Yeah, yeah.
Cool. So one hope roll.
[02:07:11] Speaker D: Whoa.
[02:07:12] Speaker C: That was a much better roll.
[02:07:14] Speaker B: Thanks.
[02:07:14] Speaker C: Thanks, Dan. I. I promise though, I will screenshot. I have my cursor over public role.
[02:07:21] Speaker A: That's fine. I definitely will let you off.
Right, so next with the eight.
So it's 48 plus two damage with. So as. As your. As your dagger erupts with blue flames that like, trail away from you. Carried a what? Carried away by the. By this kind of whirlwind blizzard,
[02:07:46] Speaker D: you
[02:07:46] Speaker A: do a total damage. Well, you do initial damage of 14, and then what's your sneak attack?
[02:07:57] Speaker C: My sneak attack.
[02:07:58] Speaker A: Should try rolling the sneak attack just to see if that's sneaky.
[02:08:01] Speaker C: It should be three D sixes.
[02:08:03] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:08:04] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll see happen.
But because it says select target, I can't.
[02:08:10] Speaker A: So yeah, if you just roll 3d6 out of the chat roll. So it's like slash R space, 3D6.
Bam.
Five. Okay. So a total of 19 damage is major. So as you leap forward, carried along by the blizzard kind of blustering from behind you, in a way, the. The insourceable blade almost acts as like a. A Tracer like.
Like a laser point. A blue flaming laser point to your target and you manage to cut. Your blade cuts through through two of the limbs holding these scientists to the wall. And they as they kind of as you body slam them off the wall, they kind of flutter away and they disappear into the blizzard. They are gone as well.
Okay. So very good Cooper. The final remaining sciontis will as. As you're coming through Cooper. It's the last one that kind of lunges back at you to catch you, catch you at the same like to catch you head on a 17 to hit 17 hits. Okay. And you.
19 damage as it. As you swing into it. Sort of like out turn that held out scythe arm.
[02:09:50] Speaker B: Cool.
[02:09:51] Speaker C: I'll take an armor slot to make it minor damage.
[02:09:55] Speaker A: Okay. Very, very good. Very good.
Who would like to go next? Is Guardi's hand up for another turn?
[02:10:01] Speaker D: Oh no, sorry. That was for the old turn back in the days.
[02:10:05] Speaker B: Osman
[02:10:08] Speaker A: Abe. Smash.
[02:10:10] Speaker B: A smash.
Press smash or it's a great of one guy.
[02:10:20] Speaker A: What a waste.
[02:10:21] Speaker F: Yeah, the feeling we're using all of our good now rather than against the big. The big mummy.
[02:10:33] Speaker A: Oh, we got a brutal roll in there. That's a casual 48 damage.
48 damage.
The last scientist is pulped under Abe's assault. I can only imagine instead of swinging the ax you've just grabbed it, swung it around your head, thrown it just.
[02:10:53] Speaker B: Yeah, just threw it into the vortex.
[02:10:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:10:56] Speaker B: Grabbed it by the.
[02:10:58] Speaker A: It's okay.
In which case as the scientist like flies off into the distance like Griffin, there's a moment where you're like yay, we did it. And then this sciontis swings back past you before plummeting down into the depths.
But yes, that scientist is done for and you have.
Yeah. You've cleared out the. The mantis, the seances.
Congratulations. So as you've got a bit more time to think.
Yeah. As you pick yourselves up. Who wants to pick up the next.
Next task?
As we look at our clocks? The hump clock is now up by another one.
[02:11:53] Speaker D: Nice.
[02:11:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Who wants to take point now?
[02:11:58] Speaker B: Somebody must be good at an explore.
[02:12:00] Speaker D: I'll do a little explore.
I can look.
I'll do a look.
Yeah. Can I just do a vibe check like is there. I'll. I'll do a little meditate and see if there's anywhere that is feeling particularly.
I can feel a particularly strong like natural pull from.
[02:12:22] Speaker A: Sure, sure.
[02:12:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:12:24] Speaker A: Vibe check. I'm done with that. Are you using experiences and which ability.
[02:12:30] Speaker D: Oh can I use?
Can I Do an an in. Oh, do I only hope?
No, I'm without hope. I cannot use experiences. I will simply imagine.
[02:12:41] Speaker E: I was gonna say I can help. If you want, I can spend a hope.
[02:12:45] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, that'd be ace. Thank you.
[02:12:46] Speaker E: And give you a little advantage.
[02:12:48] Speaker D: Not sure how, but. Oh, maybe it's your soothing music will help me to meditate. How about that?
[02:12:52] Speaker E: There we go.
[02:12:54] Speaker D: Sweet.
[02:12:54] Speaker A: I mean, Griffin is king of the vibes.
[02:12:56] Speaker D: Instinct.
[02:12:57] Speaker E: Yeah.
[02:12:59] Speaker A: Drop your hope by one and then I'll update that
[02:13:05] Speaker D: 17 hope.
[02:13:07] Speaker A: 17. With hope.
That is.
A success. With hope.
[02:13:19] Speaker B: Yay.
[02:13:22] Speaker A: So that's two segments on the clock. You're now up to five of six G. You pause and like you're kind of looking around and like this. This.
To say this isn't normal is a bit of an understatement. You're in an underground blizzard whirlpool cave that you've slipped into from this glacial. Like, how far does this place go? For a start?
But there's something odd in the air. And it is not the mouthfuls of like high velocity sleet that that's kind of slamming into your face and clunk.
And as you close your eyes and you feel that like innate Majani, your. Your Majani physiology kind of centering yourself and attuning you to the flow of manner in ways that you've been taught to do since a young being, a young one, you discern the draw, the strong draw of primal mana.
You discern the strengthening pull of arcane mana.
This is expected.
And then you notice that running directly through the middle of it is the thrum of divine mana.
And you're like. As you allow your mind to wander the paths that they wander.
As you kind of question this, your mind flicks to all of the creatures that you've seen. So these seances that you've just defeated, the ice elementals, the like. Everything within this cave has been corrupted by this arcane crystallization.
So why is there divine mana?
For there to be divine mana would insist insinuate the presence of a dragon.
And then you think back to what Cooper told you after your long rest and garda. Your eyes open slowly as it dawns on you the sentience of the crystallization, This corruption.
You think back to something that Cass said to you once when you're at the standing stones.
What is powerful enough to corrupt a God?
And now you have your answer.
Another God.
You realize that the arcane corruption infecting Pfizer and likely Barunan may well be a fragmented shard of Kervother.
The Sundered.
[02:16:52] Speaker D: Now I'll. I'll head over to Cooper with like, my. My cloak. Trying to block the sleep and be like.
[02:17:00] Speaker A: Cooper,
[02:17:02] Speaker D: what is it about Kavaltha?
[02:17:07] Speaker C: I mean, she's in my head and I bloody hate her. Apparently.
That's. That's as much as I really know why.
[02:17:17] Speaker D: I think you're not the only one.
It feels like she might be the one in these God's heads too.
Really?
[02:17:29] Speaker A: Cooper, you think back to your com. Your. Your conversation. Question mark with exo.
When he asked you.
You've heard it too.
And he realized his insinuation that the two of you are drawn here. Were beckoned here.
A shard of a dragon destroyed during the war not three years ago clearly resides within the Titans of this isle.
They are being corrupted by a fragment of Care Vofor's essence.
The only thing strong enough to infect a God.
A stronger God.
Where you at, coop?
[02:18:42] Speaker B: Just.
[02:18:52] Speaker A: What are we?
[02:18:53] Speaker C: I mean, it's hard enough with world spirit gods.
Now there's another one.
[02:19:02] Speaker A: Oh,
[02:19:04] Speaker C: okay.
Give me a second.
I feel like you might try and reach to speak to Kevotha in his head.
[02:19:20] Speaker D: Oh,
[02:19:23] Speaker A: okay.
Didn't explore. Okay. Yes.
What are you you doing? Saying.
[02:19:42] Speaker C: I think.
I think like. I think first of all, everyone would be told what he was about to do. To be like, can. Can you guys just give me a sec? I'm gonna try and confer this.
I think.
I don't. I don't know.
He'll like, just not take himself away necessarily, but away enough so he feels that he can concentrate.
[02:20:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:20:12] Speaker C: Quiet quietly. Just be kind of like.
Are you causing the chaos here?
Are you affecting the Titans?
[02:20:30] Speaker A: The voice in your head, in the back of your mind that has sat with you and has only grown louder since the rediscovery began.
Since Elsewhere began recovering from the eschaton, the voice that's been getting louder by the day says, Flee. Hide.
We must flee. We must hide.
Until.
Until we can rejoin.
Gather together. Rebuild. Muster strength. Until then, Flee. Hide. Flee and hide.
Find me. Find me.
Rejoin me.
[02:21:32] Speaker C: This is a riddle. I'm not.
What do you want with me?
What do you want with them?
I'm not clever enough for this. You picked the wrong dragon to get into his head.
[02:21:53] Speaker A: We must be reborn.
We must rebuild.
We must return.
Cooper. It dawns on you this fragmented thoughts. These friend fragmented thoughts are going through your mind. They are indicative of a mind that is shattered.
Care Ofa was destroyed during the war. She was sundered. That is her moniker now.
And perhaps, perhaps shards of her. Like pieces of. Like fragments fired out in all directions by a.
An explosion of a being Divine.
And much like the the world of Elsewhere is now a consequence of the chaos and randomness of the Eschaton.
Amongst that these shards of Kervother would have landed somewhere.
So perhaps this isn't a targeted attack.
A targeted ploy of Kervoha. Kervofa shards would presumably be everywhere in within reason.
But it just so happens that this shard has landed on an island home to two world spirits.
[02:23:48] Speaker C: Okay, if. I'll take this in and then.
I'm sorry, but I can't help you.
[02:24:02] Speaker A: The voice simply repeats what it's been saying since you arrived here.
Find, flee, hide, regrow.
[02:24:21] Speaker C: Stop trying to converse. And he will tell everyone what he's understood and what's happened and what was said.
And as the more he speaks, the kind of more worn out he looks like he's starting to put a lot of pieces together from evil than before.
Like, when did the Sunder dragon get sundered? Get sundered how? Like how early on in the war. Was it like near the beginning or near the end? Or is that the.
[02:25:01] Speaker A: Would have been near.
Near the end. So not long before the Eschat.
Bear in mind that as the laws of reality began to unravel in the face of the Eschaton, so too did the flow of time.
So it's. You can't say it was four years ago, for example, because for you it might have been four years ago, but for someone else, it might have been 304 years ago.
Yes, in the. In the. In the lead up to like it suggested that when Kervother.
So one of a Khan's brood and Ulavari, one of Aya's brood were destroyed during the war. They. Those were the two kind of Divine casualties of the war.
That may well have been what caused a Khan and Aya to accelerate their conflict. Conflict to the point that magics began unraveling the very essence of Elsewhere.
Perhaps their deaths of care Ofa and Ulavari were the catalyst for what would become the Eschaton.
The escalation that would cause the fabric of reality to tear.
[02:26:24] Speaker C: Cooper is dead. Tying this together, but he is also tying together that. He feels like this corresponds very much with him leaving Cass.
It is around that time.
[02:26:38] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:26:39] Speaker C: That he ran away.
[02:26:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:26:42] Speaker C: From that responsibility.
So as he's speaking, he say he's telling everyone what has happened, but he is looking more and more worn as he starts to Maybe think that this voice has been there for a long time.
[02:27:00] Speaker A: Okay, Where's Cass at?
[02:27:10] Speaker F: Cass is having a mixed emotion.
[02:27:16] Speaker B: She.
[02:27:16] Speaker F: She is. She is just looking at Kuba talk.
I think he can genuinely read her expression quite well. Although she does also have. Just like you can read what is going on in her mind for the most part.
But for the first time, it's impossible to quite say what she's thinking because even she's not quite sure what she's thinking.
[02:27:40] Speaker A: Sure.
[02:27:41] Speaker F: There's a part of her that's like, wait, I. I could have had him helping me talk to a God all this time. He could have helped me.
[02:27:50] Speaker B: Didn't have to bring this guy along.
[02:27:57] Speaker A: Perhaps then as you mu. As you. As you're frantically musing this in your head, there comes a moment where you stop it and knowledge did you have corrupted by the shard of a betrayer God on your bingo card when you took this job?
Because that's now what you're up against.
[02:28:26] Speaker F: Yeah, I think for the.
[02:28:27] Speaker B: It's.
[02:28:28] Speaker F: There is that aspect of her that's like, wait, what? Koopo is connected to this? And then there is mostly a part of her that she hadn't expected to be there, especially not when Cooper showed up a couple of days ago, which is just genuine, heartfelt concern for him and what this connection to this corrupted God could mean for him.
[02:28:53] Speaker A: Sure.
Okay.
As you have the. These thoughts, they are interrupted as the cavern around you seemingly growls and rumbles like a great power is awakening.
I will gently remind you that there is a hidden clock happening in the background.
So with that, like snapped back to attention, the. The six of you who would like to take the point as you stand on the edge of this swirling blizzard maelstrom. Well,
[02:29:40] Speaker E: I would just like to do something relatively quickly.
[02:29:43] Speaker A: Yes. Yes.
Turn on the clocks again.
[02:29:46] Speaker E: Seeing.
Seeing the sort of stress on Cooper's face and also the rather maybe even slightly stressed and complex look on Cass's face.
Griffin will play.
He will play a relaxing song as we're walking along
[02:30:09] Speaker A: to try and calm. To try and calm everyone down
[02:30:14] Speaker E: and everyone. Everyone who needs it can gain one hit point back.
[02:30:21] Speaker B: Thanks.
[02:30:22] Speaker C: Thanks, Griff.
[02:30:23] Speaker A: There you go. Very good.
Tell you what. While Griffin's in the. The driving seat, would you like to explore? Hunt or loot?
[02:30:34] Speaker E: I'll do an explore. Then I will.
Don't know what I'm exploring, I guess so.
[02:30:41] Speaker A: Of
[02:30:44] Speaker E: using the music as well to sort of pick up where.
Sort of like maybe like where it's echoing and where it sort of Seems to be picking up louder as the, as the sort of gust seems to be quieting down a bit.
[02:31:04] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:31:06] Speaker D: You're an accordion bat.
[02:31:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
I mean that sounds well. Which ability are you using?
[02:31:17] Speaker E: I'm going to use presence because it is me performing.
[02:31:20] Speaker A: Sure.
Are you going to use any of your experiences?
[02:31:32] Speaker E: I think I've got you back again. I'll use that. Cuz it's getting every, it's keeping everyone hopefully in much more chipper spirits.
[02:31:40] Speaker A: Okay, let's roll.
[02:31:46] Speaker E: Did that roll for you? Because I'm not seeing any dice rolling on for me at the moment.
[02:31:50] Speaker A: 21 with hope.
[02:31:52] Speaker B: Nice.
[02:31:52] Speaker A: Okay, very nice. Very, very nice.
[02:31:55] Speaker D: Okay.
[02:31:56] Speaker A: You managed to like as curious as it is, you're kind of using, using your accordion almost as like a sonar like it cuts through the, the roaring of this blizzard that surrounds you and yeah, it kind of allows you to get an idea of where you need to go next.
And on a success with Hope, you complete the explore clock.
Congratulations.
And following your lead, Griffin, you lead the party to what is fundamentally an exit. It's a crack in the side of the wall that kind of leads away from this place and it leads you to like, it's a tight squeeze. Like you're, it's quite claustrophobic as you're kind of sliding between this, you know, sliding through this kind of narrow crack in the wall and you emerge into, into another large cavern.
This one not buffeted by kind of chilly wind. Wait, it's certainly cold.
It's almost painful to breathe here.
And fundamentally in like heading down, away from you is almost a staircase of pure ice.
Looks like flawless sapphire underfoot.
But it's cold enough that your feet almost kind of stick to it. It's got a certain stickiness almost as your, your shoes are kind of freeze, flash freezing to its surface as you make your way down.
But as this staircase kind of roll, this open staircase kind of rolls out in front of you.
As you look ahead, the cavern is illuminated by this cold blue pulsing light and it almost beats like a heart.
And the light is emanating from a floor to ceiling and crystals line pillar. It just looks like a, like a, a natural kind of pillar of ice that tapers from the bottom up for the center and then kind of widens back out when it hits the ceiling. And this light, this cold blue light is pulsing up and then down, up and down.
Who's been. Has anyone had their torch out? Cassandre, can we imagine your torch is out.
[02:35:06] Speaker F: I imagine she's got a torch out this is in her first cave rodeo.
[02:35:10] Speaker A: In which case, as you kind of shine your lantern around to. To get a better look, you watch as the flame freezes and then like, topples to the inside.
It's curious to watch. Ice builds around the flame and it topples off of the sort like the lantern wick.
And in this small chunk of glass ice inside your lantern, you can see the flame flickering until it dies.
[02:35:45] Speaker F: Don't like that.
[02:35:51] Speaker A: And as the six of you look towards this central pillar that's thrumming with this energy, like a heartbeat, in the center of it, like a spear, is a shard, a large shard of red crystal.
And Gardi, you.
You feel it in your chest, Cooper, you hear it in your mind.
This is seemingly the shard of Care Vofa.
How knowing that it is the cause of the corruption, how are you going about dealing with it?
[02:36:45] Speaker F: Do you think that the. The cure, the little, like, thing of paste that we've got, if we just wipe it on the, on the shaft,
[02:36:58] Speaker D: I mean, does it seem like an arcane crystal or. Yes.
Oh.
[02:37:03] Speaker A: So if you imagine the pillar is vertical, this shard, like, you can almost see a hole where this, like this spear of the glass, the spear of red crystal has like, punched through the ceiling of the cave of the cavern and, like, embedded into this ice pillar. And given that this light is pulsing up and down it like a heartbeat, you can't help but get the feeling that this might be a sort of like a central, almost like nervous system of. Of Fiser speared by this.
So removing. Removing this splinter of the betrayer God Kervofa would begin to weaken the hold on Pfizer, because as long as this is still intact in the verticommas, Pfizer can never heal.
[02:37:55] Speaker F: We need some real big tweezers.
[02:38:00] Speaker B: I mean, do we think, like, I don't know if it's pierced through. Do we think the best thing is to try and pull it out rather than explode it out? It feels like this thing is connected, isn't it?
[02:38:13] Speaker F: We're going to want to be a little bit more delicate.
Yeah.
[02:38:20] Speaker C: So we're still gonna need a lot of strength, though, to put it out.
[02:38:24] Speaker B: Yeah, well, we potentially tie something. Think we got.
[02:38:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay.
[02:38:34] Speaker B: Joint strength rule.
[02:38:36] Speaker F: Yeah.
[02:38:38] Speaker A: Well, so are you, Are you, are you moving to fundamentally pull this God shard out of this pillar?
[02:38:47] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:38:49] Speaker A: Off the back of Griffin's successful role between the. The six of you, you manage to sort of like rope over this, like, to kind of lasso over your ropes over the shard and sort of wrap it around the shard itself. Whilst everything else here is like you finding that the rope is almost sticking to the God shard like the dragon shard, because of the. The coldness almost like flash freezing it to it, which gives you enough pull and between the six of you with enough effort, like, you hear the pillar cracking as the. The shard moves. And before long, with one final heave, the shard is wrenched from this pillar.
And as you all kind of stagger backwards, you have to dive either left or right as this shard kind of comes colliding down this, this good like 24 foot long crystal and it clatters to the ground. And rather than smashing, it just kind of makes a noise like it just lands with a thud that echoes off the walls.
And you notice that there is a.
There's almost like a miasmic light that moves up and down this sharp.
But as it like sitting on the ground in front of you, those of you looking up to the pillar, you watch as the hole, the wound hole that this shard has just vacated then begins to freeze over with every passing of the pulsing light.
[02:40:33] Speaker B: Good.
[02:40:34] Speaker A: You've removed the source. The infection.
[02:40:37] Speaker C: Woo.
[02:40:40] Speaker A: The corruption remains, but. But the infection has been. But the, the cause has now been removed.
[02:40:49] Speaker D: Can I smear a little juice on the wound hole?
[02:40:52] Speaker A: You can. Yes.
[02:40:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:40:58] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:41:02] Speaker A: Okay.
As you stand like around. You are standing around this culture to say it's about 20 foot long,
[02:41:15] Speaker B: you
[02:41:15] Speaker A: notice that the light, the pulses like. Sorry, the light that's kind of writhing through it is beginning to dim.
And before long, Cooper, the panicked voice that you're. You've been hearing in your head ever since you got to this cabin gets quieter and quieter.
It's not completely gone.
But as the light moving within the God shard disappears, the volume of the voice in your head disappears as well.
The cry, the calls from Care Vofa now sound very distant.
[02:42:02] Speaker C: I let the group know.
He looks relieved.
[02:42:12] Speaker A: Who's up next?
You've still yet to find Pfizer.
You still suspect that there are.
There are treasures to find and there are monsters to slay.
Okay.
[02:42:27] Speaker B: I mean, where else would you keep loot but in a room with a big pulsing pillar in it?
[02:42:34] Speaker F: That's what I do personally.
[02:42:37] Speaker A: Okay, so is. Is a loot hunting?
[02:42:41] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, he'll look for some loot. It's strongest.
[02:42:45] Speaker A: What. What in this room has piqued your attention? And how. Which ability slash experience are you using to get?
[02:42:59] Speaker B: I think.
There's this. Is it like a. It's Like a.
[02:43:08] Speaker A: So imagine this is all almost like a. A bit of a rectangular room. There are pillars kind of rising from floor to ceiling from one of the narrow. The. The. The short, shorter walls. Is this almost like large kind of curving staircase of ice that's kind of led you into the center of the room where this fundamentally, this, like, heart pillar is pulsing light up and down.
Is it a heart pillar? It's almost like a. A. An icy blood vessel. You're just watching, like, presumably primal manner going up and down it.
But, yeah, there's. There's. It's not like a tidy cave.
[02:43:49] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Okay.
I think to one side, you can see, like, a kind of crack that's happened in the side of the wall. And either side has these sort of really long sort of icicles on either side. So it looks like a jagged mouth has.
Along one wall line. And you look like you can maybe get an arm in if you so wished.
[02:44:20] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. Which ability are you using?
I mean, it sounds a bit finessy.
[02:44:31] Speaker B: Finesse.
[02:44:33] Speaker A: I mean, unless you were punching your arm into the hole, in which case you might do.
[02:44:40] Speaker B: No, I can.
[02:44:41] Speaker A: Using that pick that Gardi gave you that you didn't give back.
[02:44:44] Speaker B: Back. Yeah, he's using it to clean his teeth with.
No, I'll do a finesse. That's fine.
[02:44:50] Speaker D: You keep it.
[02:44:54] Speaker B: Come on,
[02:44:58] Speaker D: big rolls.
[02:45:01] Speaker A: That's a big roll. That's a big roll.
[02:45:03] Speaker B: 17 with fear.
[02:45:05] Speaker A: Success with fear.
You.
You get your little sausage fingers. Wedge. Come right in there. You have a little feel around.
It's annoying because, like, the hair on the back of your hand can. And getting frozen inside of the wall.
Yeah, you're like, waxing cold waxing yourself.
[02:45:23] Speaker B: I think while he's got his arm in there, he's looking at all the skinny armed boys around him going, why am I putting my arm in this?
[02:45:31] Speaker A: And a success with fear.
I gain a fear, but you gain an additional D12 to roll on the loot table.
Very, very good. So you are now up to six.
And who's up next?
You feel that? Yeah. You've got a bit of time to hunt some. Hunt some goons or find some loot.
[02:46:05] Speaker C: I'm happy to leave us again. And then.
Then we do hunt after that.
[02:46:13] Speaker A: Okay, so, Cooper, you're. You're gonna search for some loot? Yeah. Okay.
[02:46:20] Speaker D: What.
[02:46:20] Speaker A: What takes your interest and how are you delving into it?
[02:46:26] Speaker C: I think, I take it we leave this room if we're moving on.
[02:46:30] Speaker A: Not necessarily.
[02:46:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:46:32] Speaker A: I mean, it's quite a bit big. Room. And yeah, no one's crit on the loot roll yet. So I think there might be other secrets and trinkets. As Libby said, if there's going to be loot anywhere in this dungeon complex, it's gonna.
[02:46:43] Speaker F: No, we have.
[02:46:44] Speaker E: We have created on elite role.
[02:46:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:46:49] Speaker C: Okay. In that case, I feel like.
Because obviously everything that, like, if this had this, like, this pulsing center, I'm wondering if there's like, some, like, ledges around the room.
[02:47:12] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:47:13] Speaker C: That have, like, things of interest just up on like, little, little cells.
[02:47:20] Speaker A: I mean, we can absolutely say. Yeah. You're watching this light pulse up and down, and you notice that as it pulses up and down the ceiling, it actually kind of splits out and spreads across the ceiling and before kind of disappearing off. And as you're kind of following it, you notice a ledge. So, yeah. If you want to attempt to climb to said ledge.
[02:47:39] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll do that.
[02:47:42] Speaker A: Sounds agility. Ish.
[02:47:44] Speaker C: Which is something. I do have agility.
[02:47:48] Speaker E: Do you want a boost?
[02:47:50] Speaker C: Yeah, boost.
A little boost.
Little boost.
[02:47:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:48:04] Speaker C: And then I'm also going to do street smarts because parkour was my middle name.
So let's. Let's do something.
[02:48:15] Speaker A: 20 with hope.
[02:48:16] Speaker B: Nice.
[02:48:18] Speaker A: You managed to clamber up with Griffin's help. And up there you find two additional loot rolls.
[02:48:31] Speaker C: Nice.
[02:48:31] Speaker A: So you are now up to 8 on the loot check. Very, very nice.
You feel another rumbling from within the cavern somewhere.
The time time is quickly coming to a close. You've still got some time.
What's Cass doing? Is Cass gonna hunt or loop?
[02:48:53] Speaker F: I think Cass is feeling in the mood to hunt. I think she's.
She's feeling a certain way about a certain revelation with Cooper. Now she just wants to possibly punch something,
[02:49:06] Speaker B: maybe shoot something in the head.
[02:49:08] Speaker C: Please don't shoot Cooper.
Let's go find somebody.
[02:49:14] Speaker B: I'm just saying, like, maybe.
[02:49:15] Speaker A: Just what.
How are you going about.
Like, what. What is it that instigates your hunts?
[02:49:23] Speaker F: I think it's her concern that what we've just taken out.
[02:49:30] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:49:30] Speaker F: Is either it's going to draw things to them or because it is the central infection, there will be more infected things closer to it that we've just managed to happenstantially miss on our way here.
[02:49:46] Speaker A: Okay.
That sounds relatively insighty.
Okay, roll me an insight.
[02:49:56] Speaker F: That is my best roll. So I would agree.
[02:50:05] Speaker A: 16 with hope. A.
Oh, it's actually a coin. Amazing.
Cool. Okay, so as you're looking around like you have this ex. You have this wonder in your mind or Perhaps something's gonna like lurking to fundamentally to trying Jump us a 16 with hope. So mark your hope.
You do spy like you spy movement creeping down the pillars that are running the like floor to ceiling.
And they're betrayed by the red crystals that jut from their flesh.
But you spot three serpentine creatures. They look like large snakes with four legs.
And these ones have sort of like a. Almost like a shell of ice on their backs. But jutting out from bits of them are these red crystalline growths.
[02:51:15] Speaker B: And.
[02:51:17] Speaker A: And to look at them, you recognize these as being quetz.
Can't say it now.
Quetzalisks.
And you. You are able to call them out before they like they cling to the pillars upside down and like they. They're lifting their heads to face you. And you know that these things like quetzalisks are known for sort of like spitting out this corrosive almost like acid.
So who knows what the icy ones will do. But you manage to spot them before they attack. So with that in mind, we'll start with you, Cass. What do you do?
[02:52:03] Speaker F: Cass is going to get out alimony.
[02:52:06] Speaker A: Yes.
[02:52:07] Speaker F: And she's going to have a little shoot. She's going to shoot with alimony.
[02:52:12] Speaker E: Little shooty quickly with alimony.
Does it only shoot one target?
[02:52:18] Speaker F: Yes.
[02:52:20] Speaker E: In that case, if you want me to spend 2 hope I can give you parallela. So you can shoot another attack on a success.
[02:52:27] Speaker F: Yes, please.
Two heads to shoot.
[02:52:33] Speaker D: Yeah. There you go.
[02:52:37] Speaker F: So is that I just. I roll twice or I roll once and it's two hits and it will shoot too?
[02:52:42] Speaker E: Yeah. If you. If you succeed on a hit then it means that you can you shoot another target as well.
[02:52:47] Speaker F: Thank you very much.
[02:52:49] Speaker A: I will also bear in mind if you want to spend a hope, Coraline will more than happily boost your your like in source all your bullets and
[02:53:01] Speaker F: source all your gun and source all
[02:53:03] Speaker A: that gun if you want to spend another hope.
[02:53:08] Speaker F: Yeah, I've got. I've got hope for days.
[02:53:10] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So I think that drops you down to four, I believe. Yes.
[02:53:17] Speaker F: I haven't got any experiences that would help. So that's just a straight.
So 17 with hope.
[02:53:27] Speaker A: 17 with hope is a hit.
[02:53:34] Speaker E: Is it?
[02:53:38] Speaker A: So next time makes attack make can hit an additional target. Okay. So fundamentally you're rolling twice what you're.
[02:53:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:53:53] Speaker A: So you're getting double damage for all extensive purposes.
[02:53:56] Speaker F: Cool. So that is a. Sorry, I'm scrolling around.
Is there. There is a damage.
[02:54:06] Speaker A: Yes. On your attack roll in chat.
It's below your.
So where it says 17 with hope. There should be a roll down damage button.
[02:54:16] Speaker F: Oh yes there is.
[02:54:19] Speaker A: So we'll inflict this twice for all extents and purposes.
20.
But also roll A.
Roll another D6 from Coraline and sorcerer in your your gun.
[02:54:36] Speaker F: Rolling that twice.
[02:54:37] Speaker A: 25.
So you deal with 25 damage twice.
So I think within, within seconds like that all of your attentions have been grabbed because Cass has just gone look out. And she sees these like three lizard like creatures, these salamander like creatures skittering down the roof. And then you pull alimony out. And as you aim simultaneously, Griffin's like casts parallel on you. Coraline ignites a ball of flame in her hand and lobs it towards you. And that wraps around the barrel of your gun. You fire two lightning bolts which arc separately.
These two shots spear through two of the quisks and then meet in the middle of the brain of the third quisque.
And you just murder both of them.
Within seconds of you acknowledging that they're here.
Congratulations.
You successfully hunted.
Okay. Very very good. At the sounds of these shots kind of ringing out the cavern rumble like rather aggressively this time. You feel that between the six of you you have time for one last thing. What would you like to do?
And I'm leaving the battle music on.
[02:56:16] Speaker C: Do you think maybe that. Maybe that's a hint then?
Is that a hint? Maybe we should hunt one more time.
[02:56:23] Speaker B: One last time Time
[02:56:26] Speaker D: that just wants more money but probably finish up that delicious clock.
[02:56:32] Speaker B: Delicious clock still. What a fight of where we're also fighting Fizer is.
[02:56:37] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:56:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:56:38] Speaker A: Are you hunt? So you're hunting me?
[02:56:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:56:40] Speaker D: We'll have that last slice of pie head but something.
[02:56:42] Speaker A: Okay. In which case at the sounds of the the crack of alimony supercharged by Griffin's parallela and Coraline's in Sorcerer in sorceling flames.
The cabin you're in like there's a crack and the sound reverberates off the walls.
And as you turn to look at the top of the stairs that you entered in on looking down upon you
[02:57:21] Speaker D: this guy friend freaking guy stands a
[02:57:26] Speaker A: humanoid looking creature with leaf like wings.
Like a large leaf like wings, forearms and this almost like like tunic of leaves.
And the creature looks down towards you like in looking around. And it's. Its gaze appears to be fixated on the shard, the art, the. The God shard that sits between you. The now inert God shard.
And like this look of incensed, this look of cons like anger spreads across its features and it as it opens it brings its Arms out wide, and the wings on its back flap open and it will.
Like plants, like pots seem to begin dropping off it.
No, Sorry. Actually, no. It holds its arms aloft and g. You kind of get the impression that it seems to be summoning something. And you watch as shapes begin to emerge from shadows.
And from the shadows emerges a horde of small plant like creatures similar to those that you fought before.
But as they swarm towards you, the creature, like this creature, this Hamadrida, stood at the top of the stairs once again, has this look of confusion upon its face that you spied when you last encountered it Gardi, earlier today.
And as it sort of like looks around at confusion, at this swarm, you then notice its head turns to Coraline and it fixates its gaze on her, tilts its head ever so slightly.
The swarms begin to descend upon you. This icy trifid swarm.
Who's up first? Is it Guardi?
[02:59:47] Speaker D: Please, please.
[02:59:48] Speaker A: Go, go.
[02:59:49] Speaker B: I'm going.
[02:59:51] Speaker D: I want to cast nature's tongue. I want to talk to this boy.
[02:59:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[03:00:00] Speaker D: Oh, God, what have I done?
No, it's fine.
[03:00:03] Speaker A: It's okay. That's fine. That's fine.
[03:00:04] Speaker D: I speak with nature. I don't got no hope again. Where's my hope?
[03:00:10] Speaker B: Go.
[03:00:10] Speaker D: Good Lord. All right.
[03:00:12] Speaker A: Have you been adding your hope on any hope rolls?
[03:00:16] Speaker D: Plausibly.
Don't know. Regardless, I'm rolling naked. Let's go.
[03:00:22] Speaker A: Instinct 12.
[03:00:25] Speaker B: Nice.
[03:00:26] Speaker E: Nice.
[03:00:27] Speaker D: We've done it. Let's see.
[03:00:29] Speaker A: Okay. 24. You get your hope.
[03:00:32] Speaker D: Nice.
[03:00:33] Speaker A: Mark your.
[03:00:34] Speaker D: Let me. Let me. Let me mark my hope like an adult. There we go. I'll see you.
[03:00:39] Speaker A: Wait.
[03:00:40] Speaker F: Face her.
[03:00:41] Speaker B: Sick.
[03:00:42] Speaker D: We're here to help.
[03:00:46] Speaker A: The creature turns and, like, looks to you, like it breaks its gaze away from Coraline.
Coraline has noticed it was staring intently at her, like, curiously at her.
And like she turns her head to you, Guardi, as you start speaking in this, like, alien tongue. It's. I can only assume it sounds like creaking tree bark as you speak up to this creature.
And then the creature, whilst looking at you, turns and says, what have you done?
[03:01:30] Speaker D: There's.
She has arcane crystals.
They're hurting her. We're removing them.
Will you help us?
[03:01:41] Speaker A: The figure like Romy, I.
I think you're gonna have to try and persuade this thing, Romy.
[03:01:50] Speaker D: Hell yeah.
[03:01:52] Speaker A: Presence. Yeah. You're trying to charm him, I guess.
[03:01:55] Speaker D: Yeah.
[03:01:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[03:01:55] Speaker D: Let's go. Presence, which I'm bad at. I'll put a spirit speak plus two on there or.
[03:02:12] Speaker A: 15 with fear. That.
That will do it so I'll gain the fear the creature.
So you ask it if. If it will help the creature.
I Sorry, we do not know you.
The creature begins like starts saying. But then it's.
Its gaze returns to Coraline again.
We do not know you.
It says in a questioning tone as it stares at Coraline.
And Coraline shouts out to you. What's it saying? Why is it looking at me?
[03:03:09] Speaker D: Do you know this guy?
[03:03:14] Speaker A: Coraline, sort of like like her. Her flame. Her hands are flame with blue fire. Like as the. As the triffids kind of begin launching themselves at you. Do I look like I would know something like that? She shouts back.
And the. The hammer Drider turns back to you. Guardi, you are trespass.
Seems to have stayed its intention. Like you, you've certainly kind of a successful fear. You've made it question itself. So it's not on the offensive in any way, shape or form, but it certainly.
It certainly kind of opens open to more inadvertent commas conversation.
So Gardi, as long as you keep your nature's tongue going, you can absolutely carry on trying to speak to this thing.
[03:04:20] Speaker D: Cool.
[03:04:23] Speaker A: With a roll with fear, I will trigger. The swarm descends upon you. Who's at the front of the group?
Is it A?
[03:04:32] Speaker B: Probably A plus B. Honest?
[03:04:33] Speaker A: Probably. Abe, let's be honest. So the creatures launch. These flower like creatures, their petals turning blue with sort like ice, leap forward with a ferocity you haven't seen from these things since the stalls, the attack on the stalls.
And like, as they leap forward, there's like these like tendrils and vines reaching forward like grasping fingers.
And Abe does a.
Does an 11 hit it does. It does.
You take this much damage?
20 damage
[03:05:21] Speaker B: arm slot.
[03:05:23] Speaker A: And so you. How much. What. What damage threshold is that for you?
[03:05:29] Speaker B: That's minor.
[03:05:30] Speaker A: Minor. Okay. So as you take minor damage, one of these.
One of these triffids kind of clam like lands on your shield and then clambers over it and then launches itself onto your like, collarbone.
And you, ah, you feel a stabbing sensation as it seemingly bites into you out. And you are now infested as this thing latches to you like you saw it do. Like you saw these things do to the civilians of Doal during the attack on. The attack on the stores.
So that's its turn. Who's up next?
[03:06:10] Speaker B: Can I hit it back?
[03:06:12] Speaker A: You can hit it back. Go, go,
[03:06:21] Speaker B: 22.
[03:06:22] Speaker A: That is very, very yes.
So you'll gain a hope if nothing else. Make sure to add that on the sec or we got a Brutal.
So the extra dice takes you up to 23 damage, which is major.
So as you begin scything through this swarm, it takes major damage as you, like, slice and stamp and tear apart some of the triffids that are launching themselves. And as you look around, you notice that they're all just sort of like, bundling into your companions age. Roll with hope.
Do you want to carry on, Abe, or does someone want to grab the torch? Remember to pop your hand up if you want to have a go.
[03:07:12] Speaker B: I'll just keep hitting.
[03:07:13] Speaker A: Okay.
Abe, the lawnmower.
[03:07:20] Speaker B: Sixteen with hope.
[03:07:22] Speaker A: Sixteen is a hit.
[03:07:24] Speaker B: Nice.
[03:07:30] Speaker A: 21. Damage is major again. So you scythe through another.
Another third of the swarm, vastly reducing its numbers.
So now you get the feeling that they. They do not have the sheer weight of numbers to do as much damage as they did before.
Who would like to jump in and follow in Abe's example?
[03:07:56] Speaker C: I put my hand up.
[03:07:58] Speaker A: Yes. Oh, yes. You know, did go, go.
[03:08:01] Speaker C: I. I wanted to actually.
Can I connect? So this swarm attacked Dora.
[03:08:11] Speaker A: Yes.
[03:08:11] Speaker C: Can I connect? That's why maybe that this creature knows Coraline.
Like, is it possible that I can put that together? Or is that, like, can I, like, express this towards Guardian? Maybe it's to do with the town.
[03:08:29] Speaker A: Roll me a reaction instinct.
Okay, because you're, like. You're doing this wordlessly, right? Like, because you're not understanding what's being said, but you're just going off, like, body language or.
[03:08:45] Speaker C: Well, it's less that. It's more like trying to put it together that you've got Cardin saying, why is he looking? How does he know me? Plus, these are the same creatures that attacked the town before. Plus maybe all that other stuff with body language, like adding that all together with that with. I was just trying to.
[03:09:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
Say roll me the instinct. And then we'll.
Instant reaction. So, yeah.
Oh, big boy. Big boss. Number big 18.
Okay, so your initial inter. Your initial interpretation is, oh, maybe this thing, it was like, commandeering these triffids because the trifid seemed to sort of, like, spawn around this. You've seen trifid spawn out of this creature, so maybe that's it. But, like, the last two times you've seen it, it's been confused, you know, like, it's been discombobulated. Doesn't really understand what's happening around it.
But there's something.
There's something in a vertical as human in its eyes. Not human, obviously, like something mortal in its eyes as it looks at coraling.
And it's like, it's like the look of someone that deeply know someone.
Perhaps you recognize it from the way Cass has looked at you in the past.
So why is this creature looking at Coraline with that superly familiar look, etched with confusion?
[03:10:35] Speaker C: I pass this on to Garden because obviously I cannot communicate to the creature.
I think. I think they know each other.
[03:10:46] Speaker B: I think.
[03:10:46] Speaker C: I think something weird's going on here.
Like,
[03:10:52] Speaker A: Gardy, do you want to swoop in? It seems like you haven't got that long before Abe tears through the last of this triffid swarm.
[03:10:58] Speaker D: Yeah, I'll say what we can do.
I'll. I'll turn to the thingy and say, yeah, her name is Caroline Bel.
[03:11:18] Speaker A: The hammer Drider, like, turns its attention away and it looks down and like, with one of its forearms, it brings a hand to its forehead.
Like there's a. Like it's suffering some sort of sudden headache.
But Garda, you kind of acknowledge. No, that's. That's a look of someone who's remembering something.
And then the creature looks back to you.
We.
We are.
I am Dawlish.
The creature bellows in a common tongue.
And Coraline looks up and, like, her eyes narrow as she looks up at Dawlish, the. The name of her keeper navigator that died on the isles when they first explore. When they first ventured through this place.
And she. As she looks up, she sort of likes. And she swats a triffit out of the air.
[03:12:31] Speaker C: How do you know that name?
[03:12:33] Speaker A: She shouts, and the Hannah Dryda staggers.
Suddenly there's this mortality in its eyes, and it kind of descends into a flurry of foliage and leaves as it teleports out.
Who were. Who's swatting?
Who's swatting? The. The triffids.
[03:13:06] Speaker E: I'll go next.
[03:13:07] Speaker A: Go, Griffin, go.
[03:13:08] Speaker E: Oh, I'll go and join Abe and start just sort of get.
[03:13:12] Speaker B: Ah, you got your little cut list.
[03:13:18] Speaker E: I'm gonna spend my last hope to go. I've got you back to add a little bit more to that.
That's a 19 with hope.
[03:13:29] Speaker A: That's a hit.
[03:13:31] Speaker D: Don't forget your hope don't forget my
[03:13:33] Speaker A: hope don't forget the onion don't forget the onion.
[03:13:38] Speaker E: So we can't sing that, Livy.
[03:13:39] Speaker A: We know.
[03:13:46] Speaker E: It's an 11.
[03:13:48] Speaker A: 1111.
That is minor damage.
So you kind of weighed him, and as you.
You managed to skewer one of the triffids.
[03:14:05] Speaker B: He just kind of leans back.
[03:14:10] Speaker A: Okay, so, Griffin, Matt, do you want to have another go or are you giving away for.
[03:14:15] Speaker E: I can Give way for someone else.
[03:14:18] Speaker A: Cooper.
[03:14:19] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll do some cheaty shooty.
Let's shoot some stuff.
Yeah, I'll. I'll use my crossbow. Am I. Is it still blizzardy? Am I. Am I dealing with that disadvantage still more.
[03:14:31] Speaker A: No, no, no, we're good. I've left the snow on because it's looks pretty.
[03:14:35] Speaker C: Yeah, it's fair. Okay. And I'm going to use excellent aim.
And as everyone has has been in melee, I guess I will have sneak attack.
[03:14:44] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely.
[03:14:47] Speaker C: So yeah, let's.
Oh, I cannot choose excellent. M cuz I don't have the hope. So let's just roll and see what happens.
[03:14:58] Speaker B: Okay. Okay.
[03:15:02] Speaker C: Not a bad roll.
[03:15:03] Speaker A: 23.
That is a hit, sir.
[03:15:07] Speaker C: Hey. Right, roll damage.
That's 11. And I'll use my sneak attack which will be 3v6 on top.
[03:15:21] Speaker A: Correct.
11 plus 1324 damage.
In which case Cooper, you kind of scan what's happening.
Like Griffin's just gone in. So that's another head that you can't aim in the general vicinity of.
But there is a moment like you almost see it in slow motion as the last two remaining triffids like spring up and like line up perfectly with the triffid that's attached to Abe. The Abe's collar and the bolt spears through all three of them like a. A floral neck like making them look like a floral necklace as it embeds into one of the icy pillars.
And with that the triffid swarm like with also with the disappearance of the hammer Drider largely kind of disperses or just kind of flops over and you have bested the swarm and the last hunt target
[03:16:28] Speaker B: indeed by God be it
[03:16:31] Speaker A: and is able to.
[03:16:33] Speaker C: Okay,
[03:16:35] Speaker A: is that damage?
[03:16:40] Speaker F: He got planted.
[03:16:41] Speaker A: The infection is gone.
Cooper skewered it off.
[03:16:46] Speaker C: Okay. Yeah.
[03:16:50] Speaker A: In which case like as the crossbow kind of embeds into the far pillar and like Guardi, like Coraline strides up to you and who was that? What? What did you say? She sort of like demands slightly frenetically.
And before you get a moment to answer, the cave shakes wildly violently. You. One of the ice pillars cracks as the. You almost see the ceiling overhead kind of shifting of this kind of almost tectonic platform movement.
And at the far end of the. The cavern that you're in, a large split in the ice cracks open revealing like the. So an area of the cabin that have been kind of frozen off. Now open to your explorations and it dawns on you that this like it's chunks of the ceiling start falling down from the ceiling onto you. You won't have a chance to get back up the stairs, but you will be able to escape via this new exit that's appeared.
And.
As we tick up the final segment on the boss clock, as you, as the six of you scarper and like Cass, you're like. Everyone sort of like rushes past you, Cass. And you're the last one and like you can hear the like trunks of the ceiling kind of collapsing down behind you as you slide through like through the cross crack out of the cavern you're in.
You collectively begin to pick yourselves up and.
You find yourselves in a relatively circular chamber.
There are, there is a, there's. There's almost like a, an almost complete ring ledge around, around this chamber of rocks that kind of jut out and they taper down to the center of this, the center of this space.
And the room. Cass. You feel the ground shake as another roar bellows out.
But this time it seems significantly closer.
And the four of you, the six of you, begging pardon, look up.
And towering over you in the center of the room.
On currently on one knee.
It's her head.
Lent back in a bestial roar.
The almost mighty form of Pfizer sits before you.
Grotesque crimson crystalline growths jut from her forearms, her lower arms. Her wing, one wing is, is almost crusted shut and red crystal jut from the left side of her head sculpt firewoods and seemingly emerging out through the roof of her mouth.
Her limbs seem.
Seem almost locked in place for the growths clinging to her like deific barnacles.
Her right hand has growths emerging from a palm and arcing backwards almost like a.
A wicked looking crystalline sickle.
And as these, these growths encircle her eyes and spread down her neck like poisoned blood vessels.
And as you stare upon Pfizer in all of her glory, she releases one final roar and then turns her attention to you.
And as she slowly rises to her feet, flexing the one wing that she is able to.
We'll call it there.
