[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello and welcome, world to explorers of Elsewhere live. Hello. Hi. Hello. How are we all doing? Feel good? Amazing. Amazing. Hello to those of you in chat. Hello, Adam. Hello, Harpy. Hello. Yo. Yo, G88. You'll have to tell me how to connect correctly. Pronounce that name. Is it Yoj? Or is it a Yuji? Let me know. Let me know. Hi, I'm DM Dan. That's how you pronounce my name. And I am joined. I'm joined by four of our five players. We have directly below me, Olivy. [00:00:42] Speaker B: Hello. [00:00:43] Speaker A: We have directly below her, a Theo. [00:00:46] Speaker C: Hello. [00:00:47] Speaker A: Across the way, we have a Nate. [00:00:48] Speaker D: Hello. [00:00:49] Speaker A: Below Nate. We have a Georgia. [00:00:52] Speaker E: Hello. [00:00:53] Speaker A: And Tim, unfortunately has buckled under the pressure of an Act 1 finale. Tim's unfortunately feeling a bit under the weather, so he hasn't been able to join us. If we all kind of chant his name five times, he may appear in chat and offer support, safe in the knowledge that his player character isn't in the firing line for this episode. But yes. Uh, hope you are all doing well. This is a bit of an exciting one because we are here for the Act 1 finale. It seems crazy that we're already third of the way through the campaign, but here we are in this sort of like mid first arc. As a quick recap, we have five individuals that, through fate, have kind of found themselves coming together in the very kind of tropical lush town of Dorlishal, which sits in the southern bay of the titular Titan Isles. Two of two of the adventurers, Cassandre and Guardi, being explorers from the explorer society, sent from Avere by the portal in the center of town to investigate the strange magical storms that seem to be wracking the aisles. After a bit of intrigue and pirate hunting through the town, our five managed to get passage to the aisles, wherein they found, not, well, not helped by the island's inhabitants, who happened to be led by Abes until that point. Secret Daughter. We discovered that the the two world spirits that preside on the Titan Isles, Faiza and Buru Nun, are not only awake, but they are also angry, taking big lumps out of each other and having a big old Kaiju fight. Whilst our players scrambled to try and reach a communion stone to allow them to figure out what on earth is happening. Whilst all of this has been happening, a mysterious and imposing armored figure was witnessed kind of peering at you with some sort of malicious curiosity. And upon finding that the gods are these world spirits are seemingly corrupted in some way by large amounts of arcane mana. Our Five have returned to Door Shah to report their findings, only to find them. Only to find the town itself under attack by a. A fearsome opponent. And that is where we find ourselves as we go into this finale. So just a few real quick things before we jump into it because I don't want to hold the finale up too long. We are now officially in the month of July, but for anyone who's watching, like from a, from the bottoms of all of our hearts and as demonstrated right right here, pride is not a month long thing and we are, I, I think I speak for all of us and saying we are all proud to proudly fly our flags. So we'll continue flying those. This is a inclusive space. Everyone, everyone who is, who wants to live in an inclusive world is welcome here. With that said, if you do want to be part of an inclusive community, you should absolutely join our Discord. It's free to join. The link is in the description. And if you want to get even more from joining the Discord, where we have sort of like some behind the scenes stuff, some sort of like auxiliary arts, some chatter, you can become a member either here on Paint, on YouTube or over on Patreon. That gets you up to a new members tier within the Discord, where there'll just be a lot more kind of direct interaction with myself and the players of either this campaign or previous campaigns. Yeah, it's not very much to become a member, but anything that you do, you can help us out with is a massive, massive, massive help. So who would like to return to Door Shah? [00:05:21] Speaker B: Me. [00:05:25] Speaker A: Us. Go to the title screen then. [00:05:43] Speaker D: Hello, I'm Nate and I'll be playing Griffin, a Sanguvar bard. [00:05:49] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Livy and I'm playing Abe, the Guardian Keeper. [00:05:55] Speaker C: Hello, my name is Theo and I'll be playing Cooper, the dragon scent rogue. [00:06:01] Speaker E: Hi, my name is Georgia and I'll be playing Cassandre, an ace of our sorcerer. [00:06:07] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Tim and I'm playing Gardi Magiani Druid. [00:06:13] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan, the games master in this adventure. Sam. Ambition is a powerful force in the world, turning even the most listless and wayward folks into people of direction and drive. In the world before the war, ambition was a lofty ideal, encouraging those who embraced it into a myriad of different pursuits for a myriad of different reasons. In the aftermath of the Eschaton, however, ambition has taken a newer, more direct form. The most prominent of all could be argued to be the Explorer Society founded in Avermoor. The beating heart of the rediscovered world, an intense desire to rebuild civilization from the ashes fostered by powerful figures all working in tandem to a singular goal. In this guise, ambition is no longer merely a tool for betterment, but one of survival. Such a powerful tool as ambition can be fearsome in the hands of some. However, darker schemes from darker individuals are motivated by ambition just as readily as more altruistic endeavors. And on the golden streets of Dorlishal, the ambitions of one cast a truly fearsome shadow indeed. And so we find the five of you stood on the the Noble's Knot, the Mile, the slightly less than a mile long road that runs from south southwest to northeast across the town of Dorlishal. There are the sounds of warning horns blaring in the distance fill your ears as a slowly rising chorus of panicked cries and screams begin to reach you from over the the rooftops of the town. The buildings of Dorlishal. As you see a number of civilians start beginning to start pouring through the streets towards you. The five of you turn to see the Mayor look at the the Mayor stood with you. Mayor Coraline looking a bit panicked as she turns to her Harbor Master Montague and her guard, Captain Faniel. Captain Faniel After a flurry of bark's orders from the Mayor, Captain Faneuil turns to the five of you. We need. We need to. We need to evacuate the people. He says to you in a panic. Seeing as this as the civilian starts like pouring round and kind of rushing in different directions, tripping over each other, colliding into one another at street corners, the Mayor turns to the five of you and Captain Fanny was right. We need. We need to secure the exit route for the portal back to Avonmore. We need to get as many civilians out of the town as possible. Montague, I need you to give me an assessment of what's happened at the dock. I need you to tell me, try and get me any information you can or what it is that we're having facing. And she turns the five of you please do everything you can to secure the portal plaza. As every as the Mayor and Montague kind of nod in their kind of instructions, the Mayor sort of like peels away. Montague, you see, scampers off the towards the sounds of the commotion to see what to try and try and figure out what it is that you're about to face. But real quick you the four. The four of you have successfully had a short rest on your trip back. So real quick, starting with Livy, what two activities did you perform on your. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Journey Back in the ship, I cleared. I fix my armor, and I am full of hope. I have no stress and full of hit points. So that's all I did. [00:11:17] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. [00:11:18] Speaker B: As I'm in pretty good stead. [00:11:19] Speaker A: Pretty good stead. Theo, what. What were you doing on the short rest? [00:11:25] Speaker C: I have nothing to do. [00:11:28] Speaker A: Did you want to prepare for something? [00:11:30] Speaker B: Could say I can prepare with you if you like Griffin, because then you get to hope. I won't get anything because I'm full. [00:11:36] Speaker C: Of hope, but I have no hope. So, no, I feel that about today's fight. So, yeah, I'm happy to prepare. I mean, I feel like the idea was to when we come back, obviously not knowing about the pirate thing. We were going to prep to know potentially go to Ava more. And I think, like, realistically, Cooper was a bit nervous about this because he doesn't. He was supposed to be somewhere else and just big cities. He likes big cities, but they don't like him. So I think he was a little nervous about that. So anyone who wanted to reassure him that it'd be fine or perhaps or. [00:12:20] Speaker B: Just we could a and him can just be in misery together because Abel can't go to a big city. [00:12:25] Speaker C: Yeah. They could just bond over that. I think that's that. Like, he was annoyed that Elizabeth. [00:12:29] Speaker E: Is there anything better? [00:12:31] Speaker C: Yeah, misery bonding. I'm good with that. [00:12:33] Speaker B: So, yeah, that's just misery bond. [00:12:36] Speaker A: Y. Okay, cool. So you're okay. So if you give yourself your to hope, I believe it is. And then you're. You're pretty much good for the rest of that, right? [00:12:50] Speaker D: Yep. Yep. [00:12:53] Speaker A: What was Griffin doing? [00:12:57] Speaker D: I need to repair some armor. So I did just roll for armor, and I did get a nice two, which was nice. So that puts me back down to. That puts me back up to my limit for armor. Why you're not doing anything. [00:13:13] Speaker F: Do something now. [00:13:19] Speaker D: I was trying to change it on my character sheet, and it wasn't allowing me. [00:13:22] Speaker B: Don't let me. [00:13:23] Speaker D: There we go. I've done it now. [00:13:26] Speaker C: Cool. [00:13:26] Speaker D: And. And then I. There's nothing really else I need to do. I'm pretty full on hope. I'm pretty full on hit points. Yeah. So there's not much else I need to do. So just to say that he said some nice stuff on the boat. He went around to everyone and said just like, oh, good job, good job. And we'll use that as the rally dice for this session. [00:13:51] Speaker A: Good job, good job. Okay. Marvelous. And what did Cass do on the trip back? [00:13:57] Speaker E: So I don't think Cass Took any damage from the fights that we had last session. So she will prepare, I suppose, if she's able. [00:14:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:08] Speaker C: Could she prepare with Gaddy, and then you both get hope, and then if we need Gaddy later. [00:14:13] Speaker E: Oh, she will prepare with Gaddy. She will be preparing. They will be preparing their report for the explorers to try and persuade them to assist. [00:14:24] Speaker A: Okay, Very, very good. [00:14:26] Speaker E: That's. You hoped. [00:14:27] Speaker A: You say two hope. Correct. So that's to hope for Guardi as well, if you're preparing with him. So game two hope and guardi. Is it D4 stress that you stress? [00:14:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:14:40] Speaker A: Okay, so Guardi's gonna try and de Stress. He is one less stress. [00:14:45] Speaker E: Slightly less stressed. [00:14:47] Speaker A: Ever so slightly less stressed. Yes. I think he's the most stressed of everyone right now, but given he's pretty stressed, given everything that's happening, that's. That's understandable. Okay. So bear, also remember, if you have anything that renews on Sessions, they will renew, but I think we're all kind of topped off for those, so. In which case. Yeah. At Mayor Coraline's, like, orders, Captain Faniel insists that you kind of hurry with him slightly north towards, um, the portal plaza. It's not. It's. You know, it's only a couple of minutes. A couple of minutes run from where you currently are. But as you arrive, you. You find yourself partially having to sort of, like, push your way through, like, navigate your way through the crowds of these people that are just fleeing in a disorganized mob seemingly just away from the docks. And as you go, you can see the. The guard guards of Dorlishal trying to. Like, some of them wondering what's happening, some of them trying to respond to the. The calls of the horns, like the warning horns, and. Yeah, just trying to maintain some semblance of order. When you arrive, You find yourselves coming in from the start, south southern edge of the plaza, a rather large space with a. With a quite a sizable stone. [00:16:29] Speaker C: Portal. [00:16:30] Speaker A: In the center of the square, flanked by these two large pillars that kind of emerge from the ground, approximately 25 to 30ft tall. You can see that there are. There are fundamentally four entrances, one from the north, east, south, and west. And there are currently a number of guards stationed around the portal in a sort of, like, somewhat defensive manner. Because as the six of you arrive in, you notice that off to your right, coming in from the eastern edge are a number of helmeted figures. They. So they wear this kind of almost stitch work, like, cobbled together armor, but they all have these kind of Mesh mesh style helmets that obscure their faces at a glance. You even wonder if perhaps some of their clothing is stitched skin into, into interwoven with sort of like drab olive green fabrics. But each of them carry one of an assortment of savage looking weapons. But you can see a large cluster of them coming in from the east. And you can see on the other side of the plaza, more coming in from the north. As you, I will bring the five of you into combat. And as I will start things off, Captain Faneuil rushes forward to start organizing his troops. And who would like to go first? [00:18:34] Speaker B: I mean, I am happy to go. [00:18:40] Speaker A: Okay, go babe, go. [00:18:43] Speaker B: How can I get, if I can get to these guys over here, it's going to be just at far. Can I go for them? [00:18:53] Speaker A: Yep. So that'd be an agility. [00:18:56] Speaker B: Let's roll first and then I'll see what occurs. Come on. Agility. It's a 14 with fear. [00:19:08] Speaker A: A 14 with fear is enough to get you over to them so you can move up to far. So as you spring towards these marauders on the eastern edge, I believe you're gonna be in melee range of one of them. [00:19:28] Speaker B: Oh, what about there? They're still fell. [00:19:31] Speaker A: Okay, this, that's the start. Then you're in melee range. [00:19:36] Speaker B: Fab. Okay. [00:19:37] Speaker A: Oh, sorry, first things I forgot to. I said, I, I said I was supposed to do it and then forgot to do it. Off the back of your short rest. I, I start. I go for fear. [00:19:51] Speaker B: No, you. No, no, no, it's gone, it's finished. [00:19:56] Speaker A: And you've rolled with fear. So again, another I. Now it's a five. Thank you very much, Libby. So you've made it to these marauders. What do you do? [00:20:05] Speaker B: I would like to go unstoppable, please. [00:20:08] Speaker A: Okay, move you up to one go. [00:20:13] Speaker B: And I will like to throw hands forward, slash axe at. Oh, let's go for whoever, whoever gets in his way. [00:20:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:31] Speaker B: 16. [00:20:32] Speaker A: 16 with fear. Thank you very much. A 16 does hit. [00:20:39] Speaker B: Fabulous. A nine. [00:20:45] Speaker A: Okay, so as you draw your axe and take two large sweeps, you scythe through the first marauder and the second, both that are within range of you. Okay, I will in response. So after, so as you, as the rest of you watch a runoff to deal with some of the marauders coming in from the east. You can, you can see like, you can hear, you can see from around you that the Dorlishal guards are seemingly trying their best to kind of gather the crowds in an attempt to kind of shepherd them towards this Portal, which is their, you know, their. Their escape route. So we will summon. So first things first, we're going to roll two D. Four commoners. Got five commoners. [00:21:47] Speaker B: One, two bloody commoners. [00:21:50] Speaker D: Bloody. [00:21:51] Speaker A: Get out of here. Five. So five commoners emerge into the portal plaza and begin like in a panic running towards the portal. So I'll move these up as they run past the other four of you and this keeper over here running that way. Okay. But then also, As you've rolled with fear, You all feel. If I can spell right. That's not right. Hang on, hang on. [00:22:44] Speaker D: We all feel a wonderful sense of relief as they go oh, no and run away. [00:22:48] Speaker B: Sorry, wrong town. [00:22:50] Speaker D: Oh, I didn't. I didn't realize we were scaring everyone. [00:22:52] Speaker E: Sorry, sorry. [00:22:59] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. That's how. Is how you spell it. How was I spelling it? Okay, nice. That's how you spell it. You all sense a dread presence approaching. So I'm starting that countdown. And so that's the first fear that you rolled. The second fear is from the north. As the. From the north, as these marauders kind of rush into the square, you all what? You hear this keening screech that echoes through the plaza. [00:23:41] Speaker B: And is that bikini screech? [00:23:44] Speaker A: Screech. Yes. Yes. Thank you, Daisy. Beautifully timed. Beautifully timed. And you all turn to like. As you turn your heads, you notice that astride a large griff like Leon. What? It's a large war beast that stands from kind of claw to head to top of head, approximately 10, 11ft tall. It looks like a griffin for all extents and purposes, minus the wings. So it's got large, kind of like bird like taloned claws on its front legs, more leonine paws on its back legs, a wicked beak under, like hidden partially under this kind of barbaric looking metal helmet, but swishing from behind it is this segmented tail that ends with a sharp barb. And you all recognize the beast to be a vargrif. But you also notice that sat on the vargrif's back seems to be what you would immediately assume to be satisfied. Some sort of commander of the forces. As she. As the Vargas strides into the plaza, she lifts a sword and the vargriff lets out this kind of this intimidating screech that seems to embolden all of the nearby marauders. So I'll introduce her and then I will switch spend a fear to activate five marauders. So actually, will I activate five marauders? How close are these lot? [00:25:40] Speaker B: Yeah, come at me, bro. [00:25:45] Speaker A: Okay. Tell you what now? I will do. So. I'll activate SO2. The two marauders that are left by you, Abe, surge in. The first one takes a swing at you for a six to hit no. And the second swings at you. [00:26:05] Speaker D: For. [00:26:05] Speaker A: An eight to hit no. Okay, so you managed to defend there. [00:26:09] Speaker B: Gonna dive in. [00:26:11] Speaker A: I will activate some more. So. So two rush in to attack one of the doll guards up in the northwest. No one can really see, so I'll just do this real quick. [00:26:29] Speaker B: Some of the northwest, you say? Interesting. [00:26:33] Speaker A: So both also. Both missed. And one final Dra Marauder runs in to attack the Ignan sprite in the north eastern section. [00:26:49] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:26:51] Speaker A: That is a hit. That is a hit. So that guard takes five damage. And you watch as this marauder leaps forward on top of the Ignorance sprite and presumably using their high advantage, dashes the guard against the ground. That is it for me. Did I spend the fear to activate them? I didn't, did I? [00:27:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Spend now fear. I spend it. [00:27:22] Speaker A: Spend that fear. There we go. I'm down to four. Okay, so next up, who wants to go between George and Nate or Theo? [00:27:31] Speaker B: Nate wanted to go. [00:27:32] Speaker D: I think Georgia put her hand up before me. So Georgia, if you want to go. [00:27:35] Speaker E: Oh, thank you. What was I doing? Oh, yes, Cass, I think seeing this convergence of people heading towards the portal. [00:27:45] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:46] Speaker E: She's going to cast midnight spirit. [00:27:50] Speaker A: Okay. [00:27:56] Speaker E: And as she heads towards the portal, she's going to fling this spirit in the direction of the furthest away group of marauders. [00:28:08] Speaker A: Okie dokie. What's the. So how far can you. Very far summon? Very far. Okay. Yeah. So what's. So if you roll 2D. So which are you attacking? Marauder that just took out the guard. [00:28:28] Speaker E: Yes. [00:28:29] Speaker A: This one here. Okay, cool, cool, cool. In which case, make a spellcast roll. [00:28:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:35] Speaker A: So if you roll your spell cast roll. [00:28:38] Speaker B: Yep. [00:28:43] Speaker E: That's a 21 with fear. [00:28:45] Speaker A: 21 with fear. So let me tack that up, Knight. That is a hit. So two D6. [00:28:56] Speaker E: Where are my D sixes? That you are. Roll six. Six damage. [00:29:03] Speaker A: Okay, what does this look like? What does your. Your midnight spirit look like? What have you called? [00:29:11] Speaker E: Much the same as most of Cass's other abilities. [00:29:13] Speaker B: It's. [00:29:14] Speaker E: It's very thunderous. So I might. As she's running towards the portal, she sort of holds out her hands and there's this immense rumble and crash of thunder, and kind of like a streak of lightning strikes down onto the square in front of her, and it becomes this kind of spirit creature again, made of crackling. Thunder and lightning, and it heads straight towards this pirate. [00:29:42] Speaker A: Okay, okay. In which case, as the lightning. Well, sorry. As the spirit kind of reaches out for the drain for the marauder. You watch as the marauder, covered in the blood of the. Of the guard is convulses as they are electrocuted and they fall to the ground a charred husk. Very good. I will however, say, as you have rolled with fear, a dread presence. [00:30:18] Speaker E: How far can I get towards the portal? [00:30:21] Speaker A: You can run close. So you can. You can go further if you want to give me an agility roll. [00:30:30] Speaker E: So that's close. [00:30:32] Speaker A: Correct. [00:30:34] Speaker E: And I'll do. I'll do the J0. [00:30:37] Speaker A: And there are more crowds gathering. [00:30:41] Speaker E: 10 with hope. [00:30:42] Speaker A: That's a 10 with hope. So you won't. So a 10 won't be high enough to get there for the. The crowds kind of bustling around you. Yeah, but at least you gain a. [00:30:53] Speaker B: Hope and we don't get another fit. [00:30:56] Speaker E: That's true. [00:30:58] Speaker A: In the. So, yes, mark yourself up a hope. And as you kind of rush through and lead a kind of. A more kind of your. Your presence emboldens those around you. Captain. You kind of catch up with Captain Faniel, the. The tall silver like silver white dragon ball dragon scent that stood just off to your right. Um, and like he. He looks to his guards and then you see him sort of like stand to attention and bellow out, guards, fire on my mark. He bellows and you see that the guards are sort of like looking around at the chaos and trying to pick their targets as Thaniel kind of raises his hand. And it looks like in the. In the chaos of the. Of this battle, Captain Faniel will be doing his best to direct volleys of fire into opponents as and when. So just so you. So, so for everyone who's is on the same page, in case I forget, whenever someone rolls with a hope, Captain Fanniel will tick down his fire on my mark clock. Every time you roll a fear, the dread presence will get closer. And every time there is an action roll, the more crowds will gather. So as you've done a second action roll, the gathering crowds are down to two. So there are three clocks ticking down currently. Easy peasy. What's Griffin do? [00:32:28] Speaker B: Don't roll anything. [00:32:31] Speaker D: You stay right where you are. Griffin's gonna turn to Cooper and say, I'm. I'm gonna. I'm gonna help with the. [00:32:40] Speaker C: I'm gonna help with the evacuation. [00:32:43] Speaker D: But like, we've got this. He's going to give you like a sort of like A quick massage on your shoulders like. [00:32:50] Speaker C: Like a boxer, like before you go in the ring. [00:32:53] Speaker D: And he will cast parallel again to give you means that you'll get an extra target if you do an attack roll on someone. [00:33:04] Speaker C: Thanks. [00:33:05] Speaker A: So this is on Cooper, yeah? [00:33:06] Speaker D: Yes, that's on Cooper. [00:33:08] Speaker A: Okay, let me give you and you hopefully some sort of token, so hopefully we remember this. Not dead. Definitely not that one. Okay. I'm going to give you exhaustion because it's like multiple lines, and then maybe that's like sort of saying you can't really see it. Yeah, yeah. You know what we mean. Cool. Anything else, Griffin? [00:33:37] Speaker D: Yes, I'm gonna start running, following Cassandra, and I will also do an agility roll as well. What is it again? Sorry for. It's agility, isn't it? [00:33:52] Speaker A: Agility roll? Yeah. If you want to run more than. More than close. [00:33:57] Speaker D: That's a 16, but it would fit. [00:33:59] Speaker A: Okay, well, first things first, the crown crowds gather closer. Secondly, I gain fear. And a 16 is enough so you can move up to. You can move another up to close. [00:34:11] Speaker D: Cool. There we are just there, right? [00:34:15] Speaker A: Okay, cool. So as you run this far, like towards the portal as you turn left, this portal is this large kind of stone arch made up of like a light sandstone mixed with like a coppery, goldy kind of metal as acting as filigree and decoration. As you kind of get to the middle of the plaza and you're looking around, you hear a screech. And. With a gallop on, I will spend a. I have to spend a fear to activate the varg due to its wild temperament. And it will. Bear down on you, Griffin. [00:35:10] Speaker D: No. [00:35:13] Speaker A: She. So this rider sort of like holding on to this large, monstrous beast with just her legs. She's got this spike shield kind of lift raised to defend herself. And as she goes, this scimitar like sword she has in her right hand, as she kind of lifts it above her head, this deep blood red kind of glow emanates through the core of the blade. And what looks like a deep scarlet flame bursts out of the back of the. The sword as she ignites the blood fly blood fire blade. However, I. How far am I within? Very close of you. [00:36:01] Speaker C: No, only close. [00:36:02] Speaker D: Go away. [00:36:03] Speaker A: You are very close. So in which case. The vargrif slashes at you with its large front claws. Seven to hit. [00:36:17] Speaker D: No, Go away. [00:36:19] Speaker A: Duck out of the way of the bar Griff as it swings at you. Okay, and that is my turn. Did I deduct my fear? I did. Okay, who wants to go next? [00:36:33] Speaker C: It's me. It's my go. [00:36:35] Speaker A: Go. Keep it go. [00:36:36] Speaker D: It's my go. [00:36:36] Speaker C: It's my go. Okay, so first of all I'm gonna just call to Griffin to like as he's obviously like helped me out. Give me the message, like just take care of yourself. He runs off. I always do. Sure. Cooper is gonna take a point. Wall of flame appears. I won't cast wall of flame this time. [00:37:03] Speaker A: Just real quick. Beg my pardon. Griffin rolled, so the crowds gathered however. [00:37:11] Speaker B: No, no, no, no. [00:37:17] Speaker C: Okay, I'm going to. So this like. Like gold pillar. [00:37:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:24] Speaker C: That we have there. I want to kind of like height like use it as cover and stand partly part behind it towards the portal. So if I move myself, I need to do agility roll to get there. Cuz it's far. So let's do that. [00:37:36] Speaker A: What the. The large pillar of the. [00:37:38] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:37:39] Speaker A: Okay. [00:37:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:40] Speaker C: So I'm going to roll to make sure I can get there cuz it's far. So let's hope that's fine. And that's an agility roll. So let's go. [00:37:50] Speaker B: Nice. [00:37:51] Speaker C: That's a hope at least. Is that far enough? [00:37:53] Speaker B: Can I get there? [00:37:54] Speaker C: The 13 was Hope. [00:37:56] Speaker A: Yeah, 13's fine. [00:37:58] Speaker B: Cool. [00:37:58] Speaker C: So I get over here. I'm gonna actually move myself. Is it gonna let me move myself? Yes, it is. Right. Sorry. My wife. It's really struggling getting me to move. That's annoying. Oh, I'm gonna unplug the wall. Apparently if I move to where I wanted to go anyway. So I'm kind of like ducked behind the pillar. I want to shoot at the fargriff and kill Vara with this extra target that I can do, if that's possible. [00:38:27] Speaker A: Okay, so you're kind of stood on the corner of this pillar and you're going to shoot up. [00:38:30] Speaker C: Yeah. So I'm use. But I'm using it as cover. [00:38:32] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:38:33] Speaker C: So like I'm going round it. So that's the plan. [00:38:38] Speaker A: So first things first before you do that. If you add your hope for your agility check. And Captain Faniel shouldn't have. Is he ready to go? [00:38:52] Speaker C: I didn't think he's on three when I saw. [00:38:55] Speaker A: Yeah, he was on three, wasn't he? Silly Thaniel. Oh, he's on one now. Okay, Close enough. Okay. [00:39:06] Speaker C: Right. Let's see if I can damage these two. Cool. [00:39:18] Speaker A: Okay. [00:39:18] Speaker C: That's a 19. [00:39:19] Speaker A: So who is it you're shooting at? [00:39:21] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:39:21] Speaker A: The vargrif or both. [00:39:23] Speaker C: Because I have an extra attack so I want to. [00:39:26] Speaker A: Oh yes. [00:39:30] Speaker C: So yeah, so it's also sneak attack as well because I'm using it for cover. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Correct. Correct. You hit both of them. [00:39:39] Speaker C: Good. That's nice. That's 16 points of damage. [00:39:46] Speaker A: 16 damage. So the. The var Griff screeches as the. As the crossbow bolt strikes into the side of it. That is major damage. It takes two hit points and Kelvara. So what did you roll? 16. That is minor damage to her. [00:40:14] Speaker C: I get another hope as well, don't I? Because I rolled. [00:40:17] Speaker A: You do grab another. Correct. At which point then Captain Faniel throws his hand down and shouts, fire. And the. The guards around you with their. With their rifles each turn to. So everyone within far range of Thaniel will get to fire. So. So the one next to you, Cooper, Fires at one of the marauders fighting Abe. And hits. So that marauder, Abe, you hear this staccato crack. And the marauder to your left is kind of smashed to the ground. This one here. How far can he shoot? He can shoot far. [00:41:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:17] Speaker A: So this one is going to shoot at the. Actually, who's closer? I think it's close. Cool. I think it's the vogriff. So he's gonna shoot at the vargriff. And hits the vargrif takes another point of damage. This naive guard shoots at the var Griff, but it will just add together. Okay, so it hits. So it's still. If a third one hits. No, that is it. Okay, so yeah. The three guards fire off. Blasts of arcane energy fly out of their rifles. One strikes down the marauder. Two arc into the vargrif. That is that for Thaniel. And you've rolled two action rolls? I believe so. Gathering crowds gather. So another eight commoners appear. One, two. And immediately begin running up. One, two. Bring these two up. And then the others start carry on running their way towards the portal. So you want to bring a third in over here. Come on. And three more from the west begin running that way. And this one makes it to there. Okay, very good. So the crowd, the plaza is looking more and more busy as more commoners come streaming in. That. I believe that's it for your turn, Cooper. Gardi is just gonna soft activate. And just running to get more into the action. We'll run on the expectation that if you need Guardi, he will help. [00:43:29] Speaker D: Gary. [00:43:31] Speaker B: Can he be a llama? [00:43:35] Speaker E: I was gonna say, can he be a llama? [00:43:37] Speaker A: He could be a llama. He could be a llama. Do we want Gardi to be a llama? [00:43:42] Speaker C: Yes, please. [00:43:43] Speaker E: Yes, yes, please. Okay, that's what we all need right now. [00:43:51] Speaker A: Where is it? A mighty strider. Okay, fan favorite. G. As G runs, it looks like he trips over for a moment until he starts running on all fours. And you watch as his kind of his red cloak, his neck starts to stretch out and his clothing transforms into a rough, shaggy white fur. And yeah, between. Between you, Cassandre, and Captain Faniel, this large kind of horned llama kind of trots up into position. And I mean, what noises a llama make. He Guardi spit in dissatisfaction. What's happening around him? Yes, anyone who now wants to hitch a ride on Guardi now can. I will. Just before anyone else says anything, I will spend a fear to activate. One of the marauders. Oh, sorry. So I need to activate. So I will activate three marauders. So two of them are gonna rush in to attack this guard on the other side of the pillar to you, Cooper. They will make their attacks, and between the two of them, they cut that guard down. And she falls to the ground with a scream as this crescent axe buries in her shoulder blade another one. The one. One of the two fighting. The goblin moves to intercept. Well, to intercept some of the commoners. Stopping on his way to attack another of the guards. You can't really see them because they're off. And he rolls a crit. That is a very dead, very dead guard. Okay, that is me. Who wants to go next? [00:46:15] Speaker B: Let me go. [00:46:17] Speaker A: Go a go. [00:46:20] Speaker B: I would. I think seeing just Griffin in front of the portal with this ginormous griffin. Griffin. Griffin with the griffin. [00:46:35] Speaker A: Yep. [00:46:36] Speaker B: I think a. I'm gonna have to do an agility roll, but I think I'm gonna run this way, seeing as that's where the big boy action is. Sorry, little Marauderer. I don't care about you anymore. Sir. [00:47:02] Speaker A: 1313 is fine. [00:47:05] Speaker B: Good. Sorry about the fear. [00:47:07] Speaker A: So I will add a fear. Oh, sorry. [00:47:15] Speaker D: Okay. [00:47:16] Speaker B: Hi, Abe. Oh, hey. They are very close. Is that melee range? No, if I get a little bit closer, I still feel. [00:47:26] Speaker A: That's fine. That's fine. Yeah. Yeah. [00:47:29] Speaker B: Awesome. I'm still unstoppable, so I would like to. [00:47:34] Speaker A: So let's take that up to two. [00:47:38] Speaker B: I mean, is Kavara quite high up? My best off issue without not in range of being sliced. [00:47:46] Speaker A: Well, so between the. The beast moving around sort of like it's stooping low, just like, swipe at you. She's swinging the sword. Yeah, she like she. They together. They are within melee range. [00:48:00] Speaker B: Well, I'll go for the var. Griff. [00:48:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:48:03] Speaker B: See if I can take at least that out. If it's so damage roll. Oh, 15. [00:48:14] Speaker A: Okay, a 15 does not hit. But it does when you add your plus two for unstoppable. [00:48:24] Speaker B: It does because I've got my unstoppable. [00:48:27] Speaker A: Is it unstoppable to hit or damage? [00:48:30] Speaker B: No, it's my damage roll. [00:48:32] Speaker D: You do have a rally dice. [00:48:35] Speaker B: What's that one? A D6. Not 2d6, just the one. 17. [00:48:48] Speaker A: 17 is a hit. I'll take up my additional fear. So I'm now up to six. So you hit and you get plus two to your damage against Far Griff. [00:49:02] Speaker B: That's a. That's a crit. [00:49:08] Speaker A: That's a hit roll, not a damage roll. [00:49:10] Speaker B: That's what? Wait, wait, that's a. [00:49:16] Speaker A: No, wait. [00:49:17] Speaker B: Oh, hold what's going on automatically into a crate. [00:49:21] Speaker A: Yeah. So take off 16. So it's 13 damage. [00:49:26] Speaker B: 13 damage plus 13 damage, plus 2. [00:49:30] Speaker A: 15 damage, plus. [00:49:34] Speaker B: One for a headbutt. [00:49:37] Speaker A: So 16 damage. Okay. If you deduct off your hope. So 16 damage is major damage to the Varg. And it kind of lets out a screech as you bury your axe into its flank. And you have rolled one fear, two fear. Dread Presence is almost here. I will. As you roll with fear, I will activate. And the vargrif is like. As the Varg reels away from your axe, blow it like Kelvara kind of rocks on the saddle slightly before she pulls on the reins hard. And the var. Griff drops into a low position. Looks at you, Abe. But you kind of get the impression that it's looking through you because it has a wild temperament. I will activate. I will spend a fear to activate it. I will then spend a stress as it drops low and its powerful back legs. So surge it forward. And barrels straight through the two of you to make an attack against both Abe and Griffin. And one of these commoners. [00:51:04] Speaker D: Not the commoner. [00:51:08] Speaker A: Does a 10 hit either of you? [00:51:10] Speaker B: No, I am a 10. [00:51:13] Speaker A: Okay. So it hits Abe. Abe. You take 17 damage and you are knocked back. You are carried on the front of the Varg and when it stops, you are flung back and you barrel through Guardi and the Captain and collapse. Like onto your back. I'll take into another creature. No begging pun. You collide into Guardi and Thaniel and you take an additional. So you've taken 17, 19 damage in total. [00:51:55] Speaker B: It goes down a threshold because I'm unstoppable. And then I take one armor slot. Yeah, that's not going to do any. It's just going to take an armor slot. Okay, no worries. [00:52:13] Speaker A: And so, Griffin, you managed to jump out the way of the charging vargriff. The commoner, however, does not. And as the commoner is trampled underfoot, I gain a fear. I will then continue. [00:52:38] Speaker D: Sorry, could I do something because I feel really bad about a commoner die. Could I use arcane deflection to stop that commoner from dying or. [00:52:48] Speaker A: What does that do? [00:52:49] Speaker D: One per long rest. Spend a hope to negate the damage of an attack. Target you or an ally within close range. Would you allow it that that commoner doesn't die? [00:52:57] Speaker A: Oh, I think so. Although I can't. Can't click him anymore. [00:53:04] Speaker B: He's already gone. [00:53:07] Speaker A: Wait, no, no. Okay, fine. Hang on, hang on. Copy paste. What's happening? You sure the. The common is still there? Okay, I'll drop that fear, but I will spend another. So I'll just spend two fear just to balance it all out. Let me put Commoner back there. Yeah, he's fine. He's absolutely. He's fine. He's fine. Okay, as. Yeah, as like with this Varg having now just kind of got into range of you, Kelvara is going to activate and she's going to swing her. She's going to swing her blood flame blade at. I'm gonna swing at Abe as you were stuck on the front of the. Stuck on the front of the vargriff. 22 to hit. [00:54:11] Speaker B: Worm on the floor. Yeah. 22 hits. [00:54:16] Speaker A: Okay. You take 16 magic damage as this sword slashes down at you. [00:54:27] Speaker B: Oh, it goes down one. Yeah. Okay. [00:54:31] Speaker A: Okay. And that is the end of my turn. Who wants to jump in next? [00:54:38] Speaker D: Could I jump in next? [00:54:39] Speaker A: Yes. Go. Griffin gun. [00:54:41] Speaker D: I would like to. I would like to cast mystic tether to try and restrain. What's her name again? On top of the Griffin Kavara. To try and. To try and restrain her. Maybe also drag her off the. [00:54:58] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:55:00] Speaker E: Get it. [00:55:01] Speaker C: Okay. [00:55:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:55:04] Speaker D: So spell roll. [00:55:08] Speaker A: There we go. [00:55:09] Speaker D: Boom. [00:55:10] Speaker A: Boom. [00:55:14] Speaker D: No. [00:55:15] Speaker A: Okay. And 18 with fear is a hit. [00:55:19] Speaker D: Nice. [00:55:21] Speaker A: Tick up. [00:55:22] Speaker D: So, yeah, so she's. She's now restrained and she must take a stress. And it says that I can. I can. This spell grounds them temporary and temporary restrains them. So can I say that as in. [00:55:40] Speaker A: I called her off? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay, so hang on, let me put these on. Update the token. Cool. So she takes. So she suffers a stress and you. As you yank her off the back of the vargrif as it charges past you. And yeah, she collides to the ground with a thud as your tether as you lasso her off the back of this charging beast, that's what she gets. Would you like to move before. [00:56:15] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm gonna run away. [00:56:20] Speaker A: I've just realized there's been a lot of gathering crowds. Rolls. So your mystic tether. Oh, there's more panicking girls already. So another seven commoners you can appear in. So we'll grab these three. We'll have these move up to say there. So the two. The. Well, the one that you've saved. Griffin makes it to the portal. [00:56:55] Speaker B: Yay. [00:56:57] Speaker A: There are two on the other side who make it to the portal. So we can have them disappear. So they're gone. The other commoners, There are some that are getting close, but not quite there. Oh, so she's gonna go to there. These two, realizing that there's a marauder in the way, are gonna go and take the scenic route, go round the pillar. So 1, 2, 3. Two more from down here they run up, and two from over here they run over as well. So the four that have made it through the portal, partly thank. Well, mainly thanks to your actions. There are four of you, so this is handy. Everyone gains a hope. [00:57:56] Speaker B: One per commoner. [00:57:59] Speaker D: One commoner. [00:58:01] Speaker A: One hope per escaped commoner. [00:58:03] Speaker D: So he was there. [00:58:04] Speaker A: 4. Nice. However, Griffin has rolled with fear. So. The dread presence is on its final step. [00:58:24] Speaker B: Daddy's nearly here. [00:58:26] Speaker A: Who? Anything else? Griffin. Oh, no. That's it for Griffin. Who wants to go next? I think I saw Cass. [00:58:33] Speaker B: Hello. [00:58:35] Speaker E: So how. How is Kelvara looking? [00:58:41] Speaker A: She's looking less imposing now. She's not on the back of a charging, bloodied vargrif, but yeah, she's just kind of like, picked herself up and she's dropped herself into a combat stance. Like, she's initially kind of turned to look at Griffin, but she's also noticed that Cooper's kind of stood. Well, not very far away, kind of propped against the. The side of his pillar. [00:59:04] Speaker E: Okay, Cass is going to go in. She is going to remind myself what it's called. She's going to unleash chaos. [00:59:13] Speaker A: Okay. [00:59:16] Speaker E: I will click that. So I'll do rock. [00:59:30] Speaker A: Okay. A 12 doesn't hit, but you do gain the hope. [00:59:35] Speaker E: Can I use a rally die? [00:59:37] Speaker A: You can use a rally die. So if nothing else, the fire on my mark triggers because someone's roll with hope. Yeah, you can roll your rally Dice. [00:59:46] Speaker E: It's a D6. [00:59:51] Speaker B: Okay. [00:59:53] Speaker A: Okay. A 15 with Hope does not hit. So as you. As you fire, kind of blast these. Fire these blasts of magic at Kara. She's got her back to you. And then there just seems to be something like she turns her head ever so slightly and then she spins on the spot, dropping into a low position and brings her ship shield up and the magic dashes across the surface of the shield and she shakes it away almost as if she's flicking off like blood onto the ground. Would you like to move? [01:00:35] Speaker E: Yes, I will. I'll head. I'll head towards the portal. [01:00:39] Speaker A: Okay. Very good. Very good. Who. Anyone else want to have a go? It's me. Hello. [01:00:47] Speaker C: I want to get sort this Fargriff out. I think take it out. It can't bloody charge us again. So I think from his position. Has anything attacked it recently? Would we see that I'm hidden or cloaked from the Bargriff or not? [01:01:05] Speaker A: I think it's currently. Well, if nothing else, because it's got the. The helmet on that's almost acting as a set of blinkers. It can't see you. So I will say that you are heading to it. Awesome. [01:01:16] Speaker C: I'm just going to. Yeah. From where I am actually. Have I still got the option to extra target or is there only one go? [01:01:26] Speaker A: Griffin, what does parallela. How long does parallel work for? [01:01:29] Speaker D: It doesn't say anything about it only being one. It just means I've. You can only hold this on one. [01:01:36] Speaker A: The next time the target makes an attack. [01:01:39] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:01:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:01:42] Speaker C: Okay, cool. [01:01:42] Speaker A: That's fine. I can. [01:01:43] Speaker C: I can just shoot the bagray then. So I would like to shoot the Bagrath. [01:01:46] Speaker A: Okay. [01:01:47] Speaker C: Can I also. Because I have enough hope to spend. Did I add lucky devil? Because I feel like he's. I don't know. Yeah, I feel like absolutely all you absolutely can. So that's a plus three when I get there. And I'll spend my hope now. Spend hope. Okay. Right cross D. I mean, it's a crit. [01:02:20] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:02:22] Speaker A: Might be one, but it's a crit. That is it. [01:02:37] Speaker C: Okay. That's so weird. Okay. [01:02:38] Speaker B: That's why you're a lucky devil. [01:02:40] Speaker C: Exactly. [01:02:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Double one again. Good. [01:02:44] Speaker C: And then sneak attack on top of that. So. Yeah, that's like 24 points. [01:02:49] Speaker A: So that. Well, so. Yes. 20, 18. 23. You would then get another 12 on top of it because of the crit from the sneak attack. So 23. 35 damage. [01:03:02] Speaker C: 35 damage on. On the Fargrift. So at least it's not going to get us anymore, guys. [01:03:06] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:06] Speaker A: Okay, Describe to me how this happens. [01:03:13] Speaker C: Well, I'm assuming with. Because it's. I imagine it attacked Abe. Right. And then it's still being kind of. [01:03:20] Speaker B: Apes, like, looking ready on his back. [01:03:22] Speaker C: On the floor as it looks like it might, like, be ready to, like, attack you. Once again, I feel like just this, like, crossbow boat just goes straight through its skull and abus in close position. Just watches it go through. Probably does kind of keel over next. [01:03:39] Speaker A: To you, I imagine, between Abe, Gardi, and Cassandra. Yeah, you like. You hear the twang of Cooper's crossbow bolt. [01:03:49] Speaker E: Like, three camera angles. [01:03:51] Speaker A: Yeah, three. [01:03:52] Speaker B: Yes. [01:03:52] Speaker A: Yeah. And as the bolt kind of goes behind the helmet, up into the creatures, like, pretty much at the base of the skull and up the hit. The three of you hear a boom as the bolt hits the inside of the helmet and, like, dents it out slightly. And the creature, like, lets out this screech, falls to its side and skids right up to your feet, like Abe, to the point where you're, like. It presses up against you slightly. Yes. Kelvara turns round, and now she shouts as a. As her beast is felled. Grab your hope for your crit and clear one stress if you have one. I believe it's now Livy's go. Beg my pardon. There were more crowds gathering, and Fanny was counting down again off the back of that crit. [01:04:46] Speaker B: Nice. How does one get up in Dagger Heart? [01:04:50] Speaker A: You ask nicely. There we go. [01:04:54] Speaker B: Wow. It's like a soldier's bond. I just have to ask nicely, and everything's given to me. I love it. Well, Kabara is 100% getting thwacked. [01:05:08] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So as you go stomping in and, like, it's difficult to kind of just. [01:05:14] Speaker B: Kind of scramble over the beast, just up and over it, leaping off his corpse. [01:05:20] Speaker A: It's difficult to gauge quite what Kelvara is based on. Her physique, again, is kind of distorted somewhat by the armor she's wearing. I should say that the armor is. It looks patchwork in a way, but there's something quite intimidating about the, like, the amalgamation of the, like, the harsh metal. Like, harsh metal lines mixed with these sort of, like, bone motifs that are rising off her helmet. She appears to have these two curved horn type things emerging from the armor over her shoulder blades. And as you approach, she. We. You know, she lifts this shield, the front of it studded with sharp points that look like they're just kind of roughly, like, attached. But she looks vaguely Loravar, like, in shape. [01:06:16] Speaker B: I was gonna say she's not tall enough to be a keeper. I just want to make sure those horns are. [01:06:20] Speaker A: No, no, the horns on her helmet do look like are ornamental. [01:06:24] Speaker B: F I can cut her head off then if he's not a keeper. [01:06:28] Speaker A: Awesome. [01:06:29] Speaker B: Just don't know why you know. You just never know. It might be someone to know. I would like to swag her, please. That's a 27. [01:06:42] Speaker A: That'll do it with hope. That'll do it. [01:06:48] Speaker B: Damage roll is rubbish. [01:06:53] Speaker A: Well, so it's plus three is you're up to unstoppable three. So that's nine that you're on so far. [01:07:00] Speaker B: Where is. Can I mark a stress to use a maximum result of one of my damage dice instead please? [01:07:12] Speaker A: So that'll take you up to. To 10, 13, 16 instead. [01:07:20] Speaker B: Fab at our head butter. [01:07:22] Speaker A: 20, 20 damage that is. Okay, so as you leap off the off a varg and sort of like come swinging in for action, you deliver this crushing blow that you are confident will deal with major damage to her. And as she. As you collide with her and she rocks back, she takes a few steps. She doesn't seem to react as badly to your strike as you're expecting her to. And your. What did we say? 10, 13, 16, 20. Damage is halved. She only takes minor. I will spend the fear. You gain your hope. [01:08:16] Speaker B: Really hard. [01:08:17] Speaker A: You hit a really hard tank on tank action right here, right now. As you have rolled with hope, Fanny will shout fire a second time and. And the guard behind Guardi fires at the closest target, which can't really be Kara, cuz guard is currently in the way. So he's going to shoot at this marauder and miss. The guard next to Cooper will also fire at that lone guy, that one lone marauder and hit. So this marauder is lifted off their feet and they collide like crumple to the ground. All the rest of them are kaput. Okay. Faniel will then seeing, he will rush forward into to join you, join alongside you, Abe, um, to try and get into a more prominent position. But also, um, whoever attacks Kara next, um, Thaniel is going to provide you advantage as he distracts Kara. Okay, who would like to go next? [01:09:38] Speaker C: I mean, I'm happy to go again just because I can get advantage on the crossbow. [01:09:42] Speaker A: If that's everyone else, we've gotta. [01:09:44] Speaker B: We gotta get this down before big daddy comes. [01:09:47] Speaker C: Exactly. [01:09:48] Speaker B: Exactly. [01:09:48] Speaker C: That's my. That was also my thinking. So yeah, can I shoot with advantage at Kilvara? I might try and get back. Oh no, I'll have sneak attack anyway because they're in melee. Yay. Right, okay, so crossbow with advantage. Not so good. [01:10:12] Speaker D: 12. [01:10:14] Speaker C: I do have a rally dice. [01:10:15] Speaker B: You need to Get a five or more. [01:10:19] Speaker A: Oh, you have. You have advantage here. [01:10:22] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [01:10:22] Speaker A: Right, roll. Oh, 16 to hit. [01:10:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:10:31] Speaker A: Please roll for damage. [01:10:34] Speaker B: Okay. [01:10:34] Speaker C: Right, so damage, roll, then plasmic attack. So 15 points of damage. [01:10:43] Speaker A: 15. This crossbow bolt flies in, and while she brings a shield up to kind of deflect Abe's attack, and then also she's trying to, like, parry Thaniel's attacks with her sword arm. Like, there's a patch under her. Her armpit exposed. And the crossbow bolt flies in and sort of like, you watch as the bolt pierces through the armor but doesn't go in far enough. But she, like, flinches as the tip of the bolt stabs into her. That is minor damage. [01:11:17] Speaker C: Cool, cool, cool. I did. Yes. [01:11:23] Speaker A: So add your hope, and then if you want to move, please move. [01:11:27] Speaker C: I just feel like I just want to be in a good vantage point because I kind of don't know where anything else is coming, and I feel like I'm a bit too close, so I might just move back ever so slightly. [01:11:37] Speaker A: Okay. [01:11:37] Speaker C: If I can remember how to do that, because I'm not able to move for some reason. [01:11:41] Speaker A: Wait, you wanting to move this way, like, to the east. [01:11:45] Speaker C: Yeah. Towards where the marauder was that we killed. Okay, so. [01:11:50] Speaker A: So hang on. You can move to, like, there. Yeah. [01:11:54] Speaker C: I can't see. Oh, yeah, here. [01:12:01] Speaker A: Oh, there we go. Okay. 555. Very, very good. Now you rolled an action roll, so more crowds are gathering. You've also rolled a hope. So Thaniel prepares everyone to fire on his mark. He seemed. He's really getting into it. Who wants to go after Cooper, Cassandra or Griffin? [01:12:25] Speaker E: Yeah, I. Griffin, do you have. [01:12:27] Speaker D: Yeah, you go for it. [01:12:28] Speaker B: All right. [01:12:30] Speaker E: I think Cass will. She'll get out old trusty alimony. She'll aim at Kilvara. [01:12:40] Speaker A: So it won't be with advantage now as she's. Yeah, we'll have to wait until Fanny kind of gets to distract her again before someone gets advantage a second time. [01:12:50] Speaker E: That's fine. So do I. Do I roll on the pistol or. I can't remember if, like, what I. [01:12:56] Speaker A: Rolled to click on the pistol, and that'll do your attack roll on the damage roll. Yeah. [01:13:01] Speaker B: Oh, cool. [01:13:02] Speaker E: It'll do both. [01:13:02] Speaker B: Cool. [01:13:04] Speaker A: Okay. You roll with hope. Okay. So you. You fire. And the bolt. The. The lightning bolt kind of ricoch almost ricochets her helmet as she turns to look at you. But you still feel quite in control of the situation. So please take your hope. The crowds gather. Should be okay. The crowds gather. They're down to one. There should be one. Not now, however. This is all over the shop. What's happening here? Okay, so Daniel fires. So the. The guard by Guardi shoots at actually who is within range of Thaniel. Now, just the two of them, right? So the one behind. So the guard that's behind Guardi. Guardi will very, very politely step out the way. And this guard will shoot at Kelvara. But the shot goes wide. The other guard will also shoot at Kilvara, the one that's. That Cooper was stood near. And that shot goes white. And that shot is parried by the shield. A cape. I think I will. I'm just going to go ahead and spend a fear. And I am going to activate three minions. So one marauder catches up with one of the commoners on the far side side of the portal. You hear a scream. Cut worrying upsettingly short as a marauder cuts down one of the fleeing commoners. Gains me a fear. The marauder up in the northwest corner fighting with a goblin guard, swings their weapon at the guard, but does not hit. And then I think one more marauder is going to intercept Cooper as you flee away from the. Like, move away from the portal. And as this marauder leaps on you. Seven to hit. [01:15:40] Speaker C: Seven does not hit. [01:15:41] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. I will spend another fear to activate Kelvara. And she's staggering, wounded from a couple of blows. She turns to Faniel, and you hear her almost hiss under her helmet from beneath her helmet, Abe, as she reaches out and seemingly almost like with her shield hand, extends a hand out. And these. This red. These red wisps emerge from her fingertips towards Faniel. But Faniel sort of like ducks and rolls out of the way as these. This, like, misty hand snatches at the place where he was stood. Yeah. He successfully manages to dodge her life drain attack. Who wants to go next? [01:16:43] Speaker C: Griffin next? [01:16:44] Speaker D: Yeah. I am going to do an arcane barrage on her. [01:16:52] Speaker A: Okay. [01:16:55] Speaker D: So I can spend any number of hope to shoot at her. Doesn't seem that I have to do a. A spell roll or anything. It's just direct damage. [01:17:04] Speaker B: Correct. [01:17:05] Speaker D: I'm gonna. I'm gonna spend three hope and. [01:17:10] Speaker A: Okay. 3D. Six, 13. Okay. All gone. [01:17:22] Speaker D: I was. I was going to do something else, but I'm not gonna bother. I don't think it'd work anyway, so. [01:17:28] Speaker A: No. Okay. If you deduct off your three hope 13 damage as these. Oh, these are shaped almost like music notes, right? With, like, different notes that fly out towards her. How about. What do these look like? [01:17:42] Speaker D: I'm not really sure. Yeah. Let's. Let's say they that they look like music notes. [01:17:49] Speaker A: Okay. So as this three note chord kind of flies out towards her and they impact into her. She drops to one knee like as she weathers the like brings a shield up to kind of weather the storm. 13 damage is however minor damage. And she stands to her feet ready for anything else coming her way. Who Livy's ready. So go away. Go. [01:18:20] Speaker B: I'm coming away. As she's coming away. She is not getting hit by that. [01:18:31] Speaker A: Okay, well plus I know fours on your damage so that's a tw. Yeah. [01:18:38] Speaker B: 12. [01:18:38] Speaker A: Unfortunately as she as you swing her axe, she brings her sword up and parries you. You gain a hope however. So that will fire on my mark. Now the crowds arrange so another five. So let's bring three from here, two from here, one from there and two from here. Okay. So you lot between you one. Yeah. So four commoners on the other side of the portal make it through to the portal. So you will all gain one hope each. My shoes up there. These two, I've realized a lot of these you can't really see because they're on the other side of the portal. They swing around so you know what you're fighting for. The this Aquan spirit, Bright and Wolf Kin. They make it onto the portal steps. These are this big old group here. Cassandre. You find yourself suddenly in the middle of a large gathering of commoners. [01:20:03] Speaker D: And. [01:20:06] Speaker A: This one makes up runs into the plaza. These two, this goblin and Larivar make it into the plaza. And then this aquin sprite and Ace of R come in from the west. Okay. You also rolled with hope so savage with this fire. On my mark. Okay, who wants to go next? [01:20:47] Speaker B: God is gonna go next. [01:20:49] Speaker A: Gardy. Okay, fine. Gardy. [01:20:53] Speaker B: He can stampede, can't he? [01:20:56] Speaker A: He can. [01:20:59] Speaker B: I feel like she needs to taste her own medicine. She sent her beast stampede us. I think our beast that is GY to stampede her. [01:21:09] Speaker A: Marcus stressed to move up to close range in a straight line. Okay. This is going to hit you, Abe. [01:21:16] Speaker B: I don't care. [01:21:20] Speaker A: Right. [01:21:21] Speaker B: So we could do a tag team. If he's got. [01:21:22] Speaker A: He's got Hope he was there. And then close will barrel him through to there so he can avoid Thaniel. But we have to clip Abe over Abe. We He. Tell you what. Let's he does. [01:21:41] Speaker C: Abe has six Hope so you could pay for a tag team. [01:21:44] Speaker B: I could. I don't mind paying for a tag team. He can sweep me up and we can Both. [01:21:50] Speaker A: If you want a tag team with. [01:21:52] Speaker B: Guardi, we'll spend that hope to not get stampeded and become stampede. [01:21:57] Speaker A: Sure. [01:21:57] Speaker B: With our combined weight. That was. [01:21:59] Speaker A: I'm here for it. I'm here for it. Okay, so if you spend your hope and make presumably an attack roll, and then Guardi makes an attack trample trash. Is this one nice? Okay, so, Gyro, are we using the 26 with Hope? [01:22:20] Speaker B: She's the 26, not the 7. [01:22:22] Speaker A: Okay, so Guardi's gonna gain a hope. So good on you, Guardi. And damage, because suffice to say that hits 13 damage from Guardian. How much from Abe? [01:22:40] Speaker B: Oh, wait, I see that one. 12 from Abe. [01:22:46] Speaker A: 25 damage, but you are unstoppable. So that goes up by four. So 29 damage. Okay, as you hear this coming from behind you, a talk me through. [01:23:05] Speaker B: I know that familiar sound. As Gardy, beautiful Gardy, starts running. He sort of lowers his neck and back down, ready for Abe to sweep onto him. [01:23:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, no. [01:23:35] Speaker D: She froze. [01:23:37] Speaker A: Oh, no. [01:23:39] Speaker E: It was just too. [01:23:44] Speaker A: And then what, Libby? And then what Libby now? [01:23:49] Speaker D: Just too epic. [01:23:50] Speaker A: Just too epic. Well, we can all imagine that whatever Livy said was about to say was absolutely awe inspiring, because off the back of 29 damage, that is major. And Kilvara takes two hit points and collapses to the ground. Defeated. Trampled. That was really impressive, Livy. Congratulations. [01:24:28] Speaker B: That was Tim. That's Tim. As Tim's Internet gremlin came in. [01:24:35] Speaker A: Yes. So Gardi has come up behind you. [01:24:38] Speaker B: And Gabe, with a big, strong arm, wraps it around Gardi's neck. Big, beautiful neck, hops on and he goes, come on then, let's get her. And together they roast. Yardy running like a majestic gazelle in a llama suit, leaping with his axes, the old swing and run. And they run past, and as he guard, he tramples over her. He slices at her at the same. [01:25:19] Speaker A: Time, in which case, yeah, as you go. She is caught under the hooves of Gardy in his llama form. And like as she's pulled along, one of his hooves kind of stamps down on her armor plate in such a way that the metal buckle, like, breaks and buckles and pierces into her chest. And as she lets out a screech, it exposes her, like, her neck under. Like her exposes her neck under her helmet, which gives you an apt opportunity to swing your axe. And her scream of pain becomes a gargle for a few moments. And then she stop. And then the scream stops as she is kind of ragdolled underneath this gap this leaping llama. And Kilvara is laid low, dispatched. [01:26:15] Speaker B: Yeah. How does it feel to be trampled? Oh, like that. Oh, sorry. Dead. [01:26:22] Speaker A: And I will in response spend a fear. To manually trigger the countdown. And as Kelvara stops moving in Gardi and Abe, you pick yourselves out of like her. Her corpse out of her torso. Cooper. You. You feel this chill run down your spine and then it switches surges back up into your brain like a thunderbolt. And as you turn to look over your shoulder from behind you, you hear. A slow, methodical, heavily armored footsteps it accompanied by the sound of an axe scraping across the floor. And as you glance over your shoulder, a figure fully night clearing at least. Well I. Approximately 10 foot tall from hoof to horn. This black armored figure with a cloak billowing out from behind it walks forward much like Kelvara and the other marauders. This figure's armor is festooned with these bone on horn like ornaments to rise from his gorget like on the inside of his shoulder pads, large spike shoulder pads which themselves have two more horns jutting from their tips. His belt buckle has is festooned with three wicked looking blades. His gauntlets creak as they grip around the half of the axe that he drags along behind him. The axe itself looking like it's cracked and. And seething with some sort of sickly green energy that glows from within. A green energy matched by these two glowing eyes that stare at you from behind his helmet's visor. And as he steps, his armored hooves impacting with with impetus of every footstep against the cobblestones. A tail with tinged with blood red fur flicks in an agitated manner behind him. And as you look up to this imposing Goliath of an armored keeper and you feel like a fear grip you fear or we'll grab a quick break. [01:29:43] Speaker B: Me here or pure lust. Look at him. [01:29:49] Speaker C: They are similar feelings surely. [01:29:56] Speaker A: Okie dokie. So you. You are. You are well into the reads in this one and we can to go on a quick 10 minute break. If you are excited for this newcomer, make sure to hit the like button. If you haven't already, jump on the discord if you haven't already and chuck some thoughts or theories or chuck them in the chat. We will be back at 9:14 give or take by the time I click all the buttons. See you then. Catch you in a bit. [01:30:25] Speaker B: Bye bye. [01:30:31] Speaker A: Hello and welcome back everyone to Explorers of Elsewhere Live. I am DM Dan. This is our third Cam. Third campaign. Titan Isles. A Dagger heart adventure we rejoin our adventurers here arrayed with me, Nate, Livy, Georgia and Theo. Hello. Hello. As they desperately. Oh, hello. As they desperately battle against a. A savage attack on the town of Dorlishal. You have successfully been defending the portal Plaza so far. A number of quite a few commoners have kind of made it through the portal to safety. You've kind of fended off the attacks of the marauders that are running around as well as presumably one of their leaders, a Loravar, an armored larvar woman who was came into battle astride a var Griff, a vicious beast like creature like a wingless griffin, but with. With a scorpion tail. And now that she lies motionless at your feet, a greater, more oppressive presence has arrived. And with that in mind, I think we return to that exact moment as a side story. Hello to everyone in chat. Thank you for joining us. Make sure. Well, I. I reckon give me percentage chances in chat of how likely the party are to get cloven in twain. Hey. And as we gather those percentage chances, we rejoin our adventurers in the portal plaza as this armored figure arrives from the eastern. The eastern street close to you. Cooper. I'm gonna go ahead and add him to the tracker and I am going to immediately spend a fear to activate him. And Cooper, as you feel this bolt of fear run down your spine and then back up it into the base of your skull, you watch as this figure looms larger and larger until with his axe dragging along in sparks, flicking out as it cuts a thin groove through the cobblestone. And as he gets closer, he begins to increase his speed. And he lifts the hacks up with two hands. And I will spend a second fear to activate his experience dark purpose and get plus three to this attack. [01:34:08] Speaker C: Okay. Thank God. [01:34:17] Speaker B: A1. [01:34:21] Speaker A: Buries into the ground where you once stood as you leap out the way and it digs a good few inches into the stone. And you watch as the stone begins to blister from this sickly green energy radiating out of the cracked face. Facework of the. Of the axe blade. And as this, this Goliath, this juggernaut, rips the. The axe back out. He like his eye. His burning green eyes that you can see under his visor glow with this intense hatred as he focuses his attention in on you. Who would like to go next? [01:35:06] Speaker C: Try to think if it's worth Cooper retaliating or not. [01:35:11] Speaker A: I'm gonna put you right in the driver's seat. Cooper. Yes. [01:35:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:35:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:35:15] Speaker C: I feel like that's probably a good thing to do. Well, he's. He's like spun out of the way. I feel that in his head he's in a good position because no other commoners are around them. His friends are not here near him. Is currently he is taking all this attention which he kind of, you know, he likes. He's a bit of a tension seeker as Cooper. So I think he is going to use the ability troublemaker. [01:35:51] Speaker B: Okay. [01:35:52] Speaker C: And provoke him because he's a little idiot. So once per rest of a success roll, a number of D4 is equal to your proficiency. Your target must mark stress equal to the highest result. [01:36:06] Speaker A: Rolled. Okay. Presence. [01:36:09] Speaker C: So it's a presence role. [01:36:11] Speaker A: Okay. [01:36:15] Speaker C: And because I have hope and because I want to add to this. This feels like a. Like a street smart sort of thing of like, he's just. He just feels like the best thing to do at the moment is to anger this guy. So he doesn't make any smart decisions. [01:36:30] Speaker A: Correct. [01:36:31] Speaker C: So he's like, so yeah, I'm gonna add street smarts onto this as well. And he's basically going to say to. To this. This chap is like, so what do you look like under there? Are you just as ugly or like, you know, not a very good result. [01:36:50] Speaker A: But it's what he's going out with. [01:36:53] Speaker C: And that'll be normal. And then I can add my plus three on top of that. So yeah, that is a 16th hope. [01:37:06] Speaker A: You gain a hope. [01:37:08] Speaker C: Yay. [01:37:09] Speaker A: Do not hit. [01:37:11] Speaker C: I mean, I don't think. Oh, yeah. On a success. Okay, cool. That's fine. Last. Just piss him off. Really. [01:37:18] Speaker B: It's great. [01:37:19] Speaker A: Have you got a presence, a rally check, A rally dice left? [01:37:24] Speaker C: I don't think I do. I spent it. [01:37:27] Speaker A: Spent it. Okay, cool. Cool. In which case, as you kind of whip out this, this like barb, this. This word barb at him, you are met instead with this, like there is. There is a growl like this primal growl that echoes from under his helmet. But you do kind of. You're filled with enough bravado that at least you feel like, oh, I'm like, I'm still sort of in control of this situation. The growl did not like shake your resolve. So, yeah, please add your hope if you haven't already. [01:38:04] Speaker C: I didn't spend it, so I kept it. So it's still six. [01:38:07] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, as you've rolled a hope, Faniel declares fire. [01:38:18] Speaker B: And. [01:38:21] Speaker A: Who'S who? [01:38:22] Speaker B: It's got any guards left. [01:38:25] Speaker A: There's two near him that can answer the call. So. And I think both of them realistically gonna have to shoot okay, one. So the one to the south of of you lot. And like Cassandra and Nabe, he spins on the spot and sees that there's a Marauder who's currently cutting down civilians. I think he can probably see. You should be able to see. Yeah, he can just about see. So he's gonna shoot at that Marauder and cut that Marauder down. Marauder collapses to the ground with a fist size hole in their chest. And then the other. The other guard, the one stood by the pillar, having having noticed that this new new fellow has arrived on the scene, takes aim with their rifle and fires it at the large armed figure fighting you, Cooper. [01:39:20] Speaker C: Great. [01:39:23] Speaker A: And as this armored figure growls at you, you watch as this arcane rifle shot just ricochets off the side of the helmet. And the figure, this armored brute, doesn't move an inch, just. It's still like staring at you. There's also gathering crowds, so they are gathering now. Who would want to go next? Georgia? Cassandra goes next. Go, Cassandra, go. [01:39:55] Speaker B: Yes. [01:39:56] Speaker E: So, Cass, I think because I already tried to use Unleashed Chaos once, I need to mark stress correct to use it again, even if it didn't land the first time. [01:40:06] Speaker A: Yes. [01:40:08] Speaker E: And how far away is this big beefy guy from me? [01:40:13] Speaker A: So you can't currently see him because of the pillar, but if you were to move, move around, you certainly would be able to. [01:40:20] Speaker E: Is he. He's in far range. [01:40:23] Speaker A: Well, so you can see that Cooper is fighting someone is currently very far. So if you. If you move towards Cooper, you'll bring Cooper within far range. [01:40:33] Speaker E: So if I move here? [01:40:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So you can now see this hulking behemoth of a Keeper. Like, makes Abe look normal sized by comparison. [01:40:47] Speaker E: Yeah, Cass isn't having any of that. Nobody menaces this man except for her. She is going to unleash chaos, boss. [01:40:57] Speaker A: Okay. [01:41:06] Speaker E: She's probably not going to unleash chaos on this man. [01:41:10] Speaker A: An 18 hits. [01:41:13] Speaker E: Hey, nice, nice. Two D10s. [01:41:25] Speaker A: Eight. Eight. So as you. What, What? Describe to me what happens as you kind of like scoot into place alongside this do shal guard and then unleash chaos. What does that look like into the side of this. This hulk? [01:41:39] Speaker E: I think this. This ball of lightning just kind of grows in her hand and then it just explodes outwards towards them. [01:41:48] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, as this lightning strikes this armored figure, Cooper. You watch as the lightning dances across the black, jagged metal plating. And the creep, this. This Keeper grunts in some slight. In some discomfort. And then like, like effectively just pushes through it. And the lightning Crackles down like earths down into the ground. That is minor damage. Cassandra. I will take a fear. I go up to one. I will. As he. As you blast him, the figure turns to you like the helmet just swings round. And Cassandra, there's this moment where as this figure looks at you, you could you. Your vision almost seemingly tunnel visions into this. This armored brute. And Cooper, as you dance away, having just kind of given you a witty barb, you watch in slow motion as this keeper strides past you and in just a few steps runs towards Cassandra. And hefting the axe a second time. Brings it down on Cassandra for a 20 to hit. You take. 13 damage. [01:43:39] Speaker B: Okay. [01:43:43] Speaker A: As quite worryingly, the ax grazes you off the back of that roll. Yeah, the ax swings round. It catches you. However, I need all PCs within far range, which I believe is all of you. As he. As this axe scythes into Cassandra, you all lose a hope. And I gain a hope. Gain a fear hope. As he swings at you, Cassandre, I will spend one of those fears to go a second time. And I apologize. [01:44:46] Speaker B: Probably hits. [01:44:48] Speaker A: But he crits you. [01:44:50] Speaker B: Oh. [01:44:53] Speaker C: Four. [01:44:58] Speaker B: Oh, can. [01:45:00] Speaker C: No, absolutely not. [01:45:02] Speaker B: I can come in. Wait a minute, wait a minute. Can I. [01:45:06] Speaker C: She's annoying. [01:45:10] Speaker B: I am your shield. I mark a strange dresses stand in the way. [01:45:15] Speaker E: I was just trying to find where all my armor was. Don't need to now. [01:45:23] Speaker A: Is Abe using. I am your shield. [01:45:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Put me in there. Put me in. [01:45:32] Speaker A: Coach, you are. [01:45:36] Speaker B: I think it's very cl. I mean, she's very close and it says so. [01:45:42] Speaker A: Hang on. [01:45:43] Speaker B: How an ally within very close range would take damage? Look, look, it's over the line. It's Wimbledon. Ball is on the line. [01:45:57] Speaker A: Okay, you may use. You may use. I am your shield. [01:46:03] Speaker B: Fabulous. My token. That all got a bit funny, but I mark a stress. Okay, let's do that first. [01:46:10] Speaker A: So if you mark and then I. [01:46:12] Speaker B: Take all that damage for myself. Yum, yum, yum. [01:46:17] Speaker A: Okay. Okay, so Abe, as you. You go in, you. You take damage from stack. You can mark any number of armor slots. Okay, so abe, you take 74 damage, right? [01:46:32] Speaker B: Break the cell for me. My severe damage is 29. [01:46:41] Speaker A: Okay. [01:46:44] Speaker B: So I can take three to take. [01:46:50] Speaker A: So 29, I think Unstoppable immediately drops it by one threshold. Anyway, I guess. I guess part of the question and maybe we should have asked this before this point, is that when you lot have been doubling enemies severe thresholds, I've been doing four points of damage. [01:47:12] Speaker B: Now. [01:47:12] Speaker A: Maybe we should be doing that in reverse. So we can actually. So Abe currently stands to lose four hit points. So unstoppable will bring you back to sub severe and then you can spend up to three. If you spend three armor, then you'll drop it to zero. [01:47:30] Speaker B: Yeah, baby. [01:47:33] Speaker A: You spend me. Three armor. [01:47:34] Speaker B: Yeah, three armor gone. [01:47:36] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, how much armor have you got left? [01:47:40] Speaker B: Still got three left. [01:47:42] Speaker A: Still got three armor. This axe you. Abe, describe to me how you block, how you deflect this earth shattering blow. [01:47:55] Speaker B: I think just. You've never seen Abe run so fast and he's not much of a fast runner. And he sees this ax like sort of almost in slow motion starting to come down and he's just like, oh, bloody hell. And he runs and sort of skids kind of as it's coming down half in front of. In front of Cass and puts his shield up and kind of shields both of them as much as he can at the same. At the same time. [01:48:27] Speaker A: Abe, Cass, how does it feel like? What's the. What's going through your mind when you see the mountain that is Abe crushed down to the ground? Ground like to one knee under the weight of this blow? [01:48:45] Speaker E: I think it's. [01:48:46] Speaker B: She's. [01:48:46] Speaker E: She's been in life or death situations before, but I don't think ever to that extreme extent. And I. I don't think she has expected someone to rescue her in an extremely long time. And it's definitely a new expression she's wearing. If she looks age. It's not so much like hero worship, but it's. It's certainly surprise and also gratitude. [01:49:16] Speaker B: She's like, you're right. How. [01:49:20] Speaker A: How does Cooper feel? [01:49:24] Speaker C: Well, I feel like realistically he would have tried to get over there, but obviously. [01:49:28] Speaker A: Would you like to punch. [01:49:31] Speaker E: Still running in slow motion. [01:49:33] Speaker C: Sorry. Would I like to pile him as a. [01:49:35] Speaker A: As a suitor, as a sort of like reaction. Would you like to tail behind and pile him? [01:49:42] Speaker C: Yeah, I want to rip the guy apart now. [01:49:50] Speaker B: Pull his. [01:49:51] Speaker A: I will move into melee if you want to be moved into melee. [01:49:55] Speaker C: Yeah, I really want to stab the guide, but I don't think that's. I mean I can sneak attack him cuz he's not expecting me. He's so focused on Abe and Cat. [01:50:06] Speaker A: So I can go tell. Tell you what we'll do then. Abe has just rushed in and caught this axe blade. And Abe, you like a chunk of your axe is. A chunk of your shield is now missing as this axe is kind of carved into it. And as you like put. You're down on one knee. And as you push up to sort of like repel this blow the helm, these two eyes fixate on you for a moment. And like the. The incensed rage that you can see from behind the lens softens into a one of confusion, perhaps for a moment. And then from beneath the helmet, you. [01:50:50] Speaker F: Hear Able Rick. [01:50:55] Speaker B: Daddy. [01:50:55] Speaker A: And as. As the figure pulls the ax from your. From your shield. Abe. And, well, Abe, as you move into melee range with him, you feel this wave of fear wash over you. Please roll me an instinct reaction. [01:51:18] Speaker B: Roll instinct. [01:51:30] Speaker A: Okay. You manage to quell your fear, and you are not. You're not impacted by this creature. This figures impose, like, terrifying stature. A figure who seems to know you by name. Nate, we'll jump back to you in a sec, but I think narrative demands we flick to Cooper, who presume rushing to try and dog pile shank this armored figure. However, I will also ask for a instinct reaction role as you get closer to him. And like the closer you get to him, it feels like the air around you is becoming more and more like treal. It gets. Each footstep becomes harder to place as you close the distance. [01:52:20] Speaker C: Okay. [01:52:28] Speaker A: You roll with hope at least, but I gain. [01:52:30] Speaker B: I don't think you get anything. Reaction, instinct. Oh, yeah, the retros. [01:52:35] Speaker A: But Cooper, as you, like, choke down whatever emotions it is that you're choking down, having just seen Cassandra nearly split into like a log. I gain four fear. I fire up to five. You may now make your attacks. [01:52:57] Speaker B: Check. [01:52:57] Speaker C: Where's Griffin right now? Because I can't see him on my board. [01:53:00] Speaker B: Griffin is behind the pillar, so you wouldn't be able to see him from your angle, but he's just up that way. [01:53:06] Speaker A: Okay. I think you're mute side, mate, but yes. Yeah, Griffin is out of line of sight for you, Cooper. [01:53:14] Speaker C: Okay. I was gonna. If I could see him, I would call to him to help me, but if I can't see him, narratively, that kind of doesn't make any sense. So, yeah, I will instead, in kind of like quite an emotive way, I think he's just going to take out his dagger, which is like the first time I think he's done close combat fight so far. And I want to try and while his back is turned, like, so many emotions are going on with. In Cooper right now, having seen what he's just seen. And I think he's just gonna try and get this dagger into this guy as. As quickly as he can. I'd like to add street smarts because he learned how to Fight on the streets. So that's my excuse. [01:54:05] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [01:54:06] Speaker B: So hopefully learn how to shank a man. [01:54:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:54:12] Speaker A: Okay. [01:54:16] Speaker C: Yes. So split. [01:54:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:54:18] Speaker C: And so it's 12 plus 3. That's 15 to hit. [01:54:23] Speaker A: 15 to hit. As you run up behind this armored figure, you lunge at with. With your dagger at one of the. The gaps between the armor plates. And the figure moves and your dagger, like, slides and makes a scratch, like a long gouge across this hulk's kind of back armor. You tear partly through his black cloak, but yeah, your low does not land. And you go skid past him and like, the head turns to regard you. So. [01:55:02] Speaker C: Oh, wait, I thought we were talking here. But there's like, like, instead of like the bravado, now it's more. There's more anger. [01:55:14] Speaker A: As you. As you sort of like, try to draw this creatures. This figure's attention as you've failed a roll. He is going. I'm going to reactivate him. I'm sorry, Nate. I'll be back with you in a sec. [01:55:29] Speaker B: All right. [01:55:33] Speaker A: As he. As he turns to look to you, Cooper, you see his eyes blaze for a moment, and you see this like, sickly green glow kind of glow from inside his, like between the joints of his armor as well. Almost like he's glowing from the inside. But he flashes for a moment and you hear this low guttural growl. And. This gnawing hunger erupts out from the figure, but does not take hold. I will. Instead, he's going to swing firstly back at you, Cooper. So he swings the axe with one hand that you managed to duck out the way. And as you duck, he's going to relentlessly press his attack. So I'm gonna spend a fear to drop myself down by one and a second attack. His. His open hand reaches out and Cassandra Youth, it looks like he's going to reach for you for a moment. But then you notice this gauntleted hand goes past you and then grabs the guard, the little aquin sprite guard at your side. [01:57:07] Speaker B: I forgot he was there. [01:57:09] Speaker A: And you all watch as this guard is lifted up by her jaw. And then there's a sickening crunch and a splotch. And he drops the now headless guard at your feet. What does Griffin do? [01:57:30] Speaker B: That could have been you. [01:57:36] Speaker D: Probably poos himself and runs away. No, I think. I think seeing everyone sort of of run to this direction, he's also going to run over and just check out what's sort of happening and then sees obviously this figure and just kind of goes like, Oh, I mean, I think. I think because he just. Seeing this and actually seeing probably the. Probably one of the most frightening things that's actually happened to us now, and actually seeing a lot of people get hurt, I think he's probably just tapping away on his concertina and actually just starts playing a song. Just unconsciously just starts playing something. He's gonna cast an epic song which is going to make the target temporarily vulnerable. [01:58:40] Speaker A: Okay, I can find it. [01:58:44] Speaker D: There it is. So that means anyone who attacks him gets advantage on their roles. [01:58:52] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So I'll put a little down arrow on him. Okay. So you. You have. So he's temporarily vulnerable. Vulnerable. Are you looking to do anything else? Are you holding fire to see what happens next? [01:59:06] Speaker D: I'm gonna hold fire for now. [01:59:07] Speaker A: Okay. Go, Abe Fab. [01:59:14] Speaker B: I would like to hit him. And this is the first time I could use this experience. My experience is pick on someone your own size. And finally, we're fighting someone big. So. So I would like to use that as a plus two. I will spend a hopi for this attack Roll, please. [01:59:36] Speaker A: Okay. [01:59:39] Speaker B: And it's with advantage. [01:59:41] Speaker D: We have advantage. [01:59:43] Speaker B: It's a 23. [01:59:45] Speaker A: 23 hits? [01:59:48] Speaker B: No. [01:59:54] Speaker A: Okay, so you tick up to 5. So that's actually 14 damage when you're unstoppable. [02:00:05] Speaker B: Yeah. I would also like to mark a stress, please. [02:00:08] Speaker A: Okay. [02:00:09] Speaker B: And I will turn one of that one into eight, please, that first dice. [02:00:16] Speaker A: Okay. So eight. So 13. 18 plus five. 18. 18 damage. [02:00:21] Speaker B: 18 damage. Oh, wait. Plus ones plus three. [02:00:27] Speaker A: 21 damage. [02:00:28] Speaker B: Yes. [02:00:30] Speaker A: What does this attack look like? [02:00:34] Speaker B: It is. I think it's just. It's a bit winded, to be honest. It's just. It's done a lot. This is. Poor Garden Gate that uses a shield is half destroyed. She kind of puts it to one side and he's just like, who? How do you know who I am? Who are you? And then he just kind of thwacks his. His axe just sort of straight into the side of him in the hopes he can crack some armor. [02:01:07] Speaker A: Okay. As you swing the axe, it goes. Because this figure's sort of like one handing this huge kind of great axe in his. In his right hand. And as you swing your. Your axe and you collect, you collide with the side. You know that that's a blow that would shatter ribs. And this figure just. Just slightly stumps away from it. 21 damage is minor. Damage courses. And you've rolled with fear, so I will add my fear. I will also. We've forgotten the. I've been forgetting the crowd so let's do the crowds. Crowds will take down too. The. The figure. Sort of like Cooper, Cassandra. You almost feel like you're a tent. You're lost. Lost to this Goliath's attention as he turns back round to Abe. And from beneath, like, reverberating from beneath the helmet, you hear. [02:02:14] Speaker F: Don'T you remember me, Abrac? You're the one who made me. [02:02:20] Speaker A: He says, and I've got a son. And I will activate him off the back of your fear. And as firstly, he, like, he. He takes it well. [02:02:46] Speaker B: He. [02:02:46] Speaker A: He lowers his hands. He kind of takes this really strong pose and bellows. [02:02:54] Speaker F: I will spend a fear to me my Marauders. [02:02:58] Speaker A: And six Marauders will join the fray. [02:03:06] Speaker D: Great. [02:03:08] Speaker A: So let's grab those four, Pop them over, bring them over here, and. And some of them. Pull those over here. Cool. And so six more of them will activate. Okay, that's fine. So they. They arrive at far range, so I think actually at the edge of the map. And then they immediately activate those six. And then they will run close to start funneling themselves towards this combat. This figure will then relentlessly take another attack. And he swings. Oh, firstly, that hunger echoes out from the figure a second time. And everyone within very close range of him. So that is Cassandra, Abe, Cooper, and maybe just Griffin. Yep. So it's all four of you need to mark a hit point. Mark a straight hit point. As you feel something clawing. It feels like something clawing at your chest. And you feel slightly lesser as an effect, as a result. And as he does that, he's going to swing his axe back at you, Abe, for 15 to hit. [02:05:05] Speaker B: That hits. [02:05:06] Speaker A: Okay, you take. Yeah, 43 damage. [02:05:15] Speaker B: I will scrambly. Rambly. Thank you very much. [02:05:21] Speaker A: Okay, so you scrambling out of range. Okay, so if you move yourself away. But as that wasn't a successful attack, I need all of you to duck to lose a hope. And I gain a fear. As this axe, like, lands where Abe was a moment ago. I will carry on this train, spend that fear, and activate the Marauders. And unfortunately, all of the Marauders within close range will pile into Cooper. [02:06:03] Speaker C: Yep, different. [02:06:07] Speaker A: So it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 marauders. I will make a single. I need to spend a fear to make them make a group attack. It's a 12 hit. Sorry, 14 hit. [02:06:31] Speaker C: No. [02:06:32] Speaker A: Okay. You. You would manage to duck and dive out the way from all these promo orders. Okay, very good, Very good. That would have been many damage. Many, many damage. And off the back of that I'm happy to pass over to Griffin. [02:06:53] Speaker D: Yeah, I think upon seeing, like, a lot of these marauders start ganging up on Cooper, he's gonna. He's gonna run over there and sort of give him a hand. He's like, there. I'm going. [02:07:07] Speaker A: Griffin, as you move closer to this figure, please make me an instinct reaction. Rol, as the. The enormity of this man impresses itself upon you. [02:07:24] Speaker C: Much, much enormity. [02:07:28] Speaker A: I gain, too. Fear runs around. Okay. Okay, what. What do you now do? [02:07:41] Speaker D: I'm gonna attack the marauder that's in front of me with my cutlass. [02:07:46] Speaker A: Okay. [02:07:49] Speaker B: It's a great. Nice. [02:07:52] Speaker A: Oh, here's a crit. [02:07:55] Speaker B: We're rolling some low crits, some real low crits. [02:08:02] Speaker D: A damage roll. [02:08:03] Speaker B: Oh, nice. [02:08:04] Speaker D: 27 against that one man. [02:08:07] Speaker A: 27 damage. [02:08:12] Speaker C: Thank you. [02:08:12] Speaker A: Griffin, as you. As you leap into this group of marauders with your cutlass, describe to me how far are. Yeah, you'll get two of them. You managed to cut down two of them. Two of them are closer within arm's reach. So scythe down with your. With your blade. You rolled a crit, so gain your hope. Clear stress. If you want to fire on my mark, reduces down to one. The commoners. More commoners arrive, so another four. So let me activate these so those. I've nearly run out of commoners. Now, you'll be happy to know as you're kind of bogging down this armored figure on the eastern. Like on the eastern front. These five make it to the portal. [02:09:23] Speaker B: Nice. [02:09:24] Speaker A: These two make it to the portal. So that's seven. Are you, too? Close enough? Yes, you are. So that's nine. Okay, so nine commoners make it through. So what I'll do. Everyone gains two. Two hope and one person. So, Cassandra, you gain a third hope. So everyone gains two. Cassandra gains three. As the other. As the other commoners desperately make their way to safety. I will also. I'll also start a new countdown. [02:10:20] Speaker B: Hope. It's a nice countdown. Reinforcement. Oh, it's a nice countdown. Unless it's reinforced the other side. Reinforced. [02:10:29] Speaker D: Could I. I asked that I. Well, could I ask if I or anyone else attacks this guy now that. [02:10:35] Speaker A: I've got three hope? Yeah, you can take another go. [02:10:39] Speaker D: I'm. I'm gonna make a scene. Spend three hope, and then that will put his difficulty down to two. Like, by two. So he'll lose minus two on his difficulty. [02:10:49] Speaker A: Okay. Remind me when someone rolls a. An attack roll, because I think he's still vulnerable. So he's vulnerable because he. Oh, wait, he has activated, hasn't he? Since you made him vulnerable. [02:11:00] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he has. [02:11:01] Speaker A: Okay, so he's no longer vulnerable, but he is now minus two. Okay. Yeah. Who wants to go after Cassandre? Looks like she wants to go. Yes. [02:11:14] Speaker E: While he's still very close to me. I believe Cass is going to cast reservation blast if she can. [02:11:24] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [02:11:26] Speaker E: I just want to fling this man. Just want to fling him. So it's a spellcast ball against all enemies within melee range. [02:11:35] Speaker A: Okay, so it is currently just this one. Figure. 19 with fear is a hit. So I gain a fear. And if you do your D8 plus three. [02:12:08] Speaker B: Four. Okay, but at least he gets hurled. [02:12:14] Speaker A: So you launch him over the head of Cooper. The marauders, like he's distracted as the act is lodged in the floor, but the blast just propels him overhead. And as he lands, he sort of like drop. He lands on sort of like one knee. He's scraping along these rams the axe back into the ground. And he's just carving this trench as he slides to a stop. And then he slowly stands up and he sort of like lowers himself. Lowers his center of gravity down. And you seem visibly shaking with apoplectic rage. Any. Would you like to move? [02:13:04] Speaker E: Yes. Oh, actually. [02:13:11] Speaker A: I'm fine. I'm fine. [02:13:14] Speaker B: Run. [02:13:15] Speaker C: Like. Like run. I think like, Cooper will tell her to get out. [02:13:22] Speaker E: Cass. In the name of self preservation, Cass will scramble up and she will get behind Ape. [02:13:28] Speaker B: Yes. [02:13:29] Speaker A: Okay, so you're scrambling behind it. [02:13:31] Speaker B: Stay within close. Close roof for anyone close range. [02:13:38] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, as you rolled with fear, I will activate the marauders this time. And three of them will activate this drave armor order. Fighting the goblin guard up in the northwest. Finally. This goblin has been doing a. A sterling job, but is ultimately cut down. [02:14:05] Speaker B: And these. [02:14:07] Speaker A: These three begin making their way down to intercept the last of the commoners that are about to head through the portal. I will activate Guardi and Guardi. Seeing like Guardi's, Guardi knows what's up. So we're gonna have Gardi trot off to try and save these. Actually, you're going off. He's gonna head up north to try and intercept these marauders that are trying to pick off the. The commoners on the far side start. [02:14:43] Speaker B: Collecting commoners on his back. [02:14:45] Speaker A: He could. He could. But yes, Guardi is. You know what? Cardi's gonna do an agility check. Why not? What's his. What's his things? Leap, navigate, Sprint. Oh, he's sprinting. So let's give him advantage. Okay, 18. So Guardi makes it into kind of contact with the marauders on the far spy to keep them busy. He has rolled a fear though. Thank you. Thank you. Guardi. [02:15:18] Speaker B: Cheating. [02:15:19] Speaker A: Handy. Handy how that works. I will, I will then activate. Thank you very much, Gardi. I will spend a fear and these four marauders are going to leapfrog past you, Cooper and dog pile into Abe. So I've spent the fear. They will. It's plus one, not minus one. So it's 17 to hit. You take 20 damage, 20 demage and four of them as they leap into you with blades and axes and halberds and spears still unstoppable. [02:16:10] Speaker B: So that redeemed reduce it round by one. And then I use an armor slot to take off that. Thank you very much. I'm nearly out of armor. I never thought I'd see the day. [02:16:22] Speaker A: I will spend a fear. And Cooper. A sense of deja vu. [02:16:35] Speaker B: Here he comes. [02:16:36] Speaker A: Creeps up your spine as this armored figure re approaches. And as he approaches this time he's not dragging the axe across the ground anymore. He's holding it in a battle ready position. But he gestures his arms o. In an open like wa. He unfolds his arms into an open gesture. And. [02:17:03] Speaker F: You, who would defend this town. [02:17:11] Speaker A: You. [02:17:11] Speaker F: Who would stand in the way of my crusade. I offer you one opportunity. Lay down your weapons and you may yet live to see the dawn. [02:17:28] Speaker A: Who would like to take next turn? [02:17:32] Speaker B: Put my axe on the floor now. I'll take it. However, can I ask now with the words of you are you made me do? Does Abe have any recollection of who this fella is? Or has he made quite a lot of people, you know, apes. [02:17:58] Speaker A: And in a reactionary instinct, I want to say knowledge. I mean, it's basically a straight role, isn't it? [02:18:08] Speaker C: Straight for Professor Abe again. [02:18:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Roll me a knowledge check. Oh, maybe, maybe is it instinct. [02:18:20] Speaker B: Under that? [02:18:21] Speaker A: Perceive, sense, navigate? No, it is a. It is a recall. So it is knowledge. [02:18:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:18:32] Speaker A: Back of a 13, there is a flicker of a memory. Like the more that this figure speaks, the more this, this memory begins bubbling to the surface. You, you're in a position where you feel like this is someone from your past, but you can't quite put your thumb on who it is yet. [02:19:03] Speaker B: Okay. [02:19:06] Speaker A: Okay. Do you want to do some attacks? [02:19:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I. Let me slice through some of these boys in front of me. Let's do some slicing. Slicing of boys. [02:19:23] Speaker A: 22 with hope. That is a hit. [02:19:29] Speaker B: 18 and I'm unstoppable. [02:19:31] Speaker A: So you're unstoppable. Is now at 6. So we finish after this turn. So 24 so far. [02:19:39] Speaker B: I have got some hope. Might as well. No. 2. [02:19:42] Speaker A: 24 to 26. Okay, 26 damage as these four dog pile onto Abe. Cassandra, you watch as. Enough. In a brutal display, all four of them are cast down as the keeper. The keeper in front of you swings left, right. You see one. One figure gets skewered on Abe's head, butted by Abe, who then crashes into the side of the pillar. And all four of the marauders lay motionless at Abe's feet. Would you like to. [02:20:29] Speaker B: He protect he attack? [02:20:31] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. So you rolled with hope. So add your hope. Who wants to go next? I think Cooper's not been for a while. Yeah, I feel like. [02:20:43] Speaker C: I feel like he needs to respond because it feels like he's been like he's coming towards him. [02:20:52] Speaker A: I think Cooper pardon being pardon real quick. Abe rolled with hope. [02:20:59] Speaker C: Yep. [02:21:00] Speaker A: So. Oh, that was wrong button. The reinforcements. Should be counting down. So the reinforce. Oh, yeah. Reinforcements count down to five. And the crowds are gathering. Once again, sorry for Coop. [02:21:21] Speaker C: I feel like in this moment, hearing about, like, putting down arms and defending towns and Cooper, you know, I feel like he use his crossbow. He's like, look, mate, you disturbed my vacation. And he's going to just shoot him with a crossbow. [02:21:46] Speaker A: As. [02:21:47] Speaker C: Yeah. As he has a go. So he's just gonna crossbow him with the sneak attack because obviously it's directly in his face. But I will use a hope for lucky devil. [02:21:59] Speaker A: Okay. [02:22:00] Speaker C: Hope it hits. [02:22:04] Speaker B: Nice. [02:22:05] Speaker A: 21 with hope. That is a hit. [02:22:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:22:08] Speaker C: And that's gonna. And it's. [02:22:10] Speaker D: Yeah. [02:22:10] Speaker A: Okay, cool. [02:22:13] Speaker C: And then to damage roll. It's 11. [02:22:17] Speaker A: It's not great, but it's 11 damage. In which case you raise your crossbow bolt up, and as you fire, it funks into the joint between, like, his breastplate and his. His upper arm guard. And you hear, like, this bolt thud. Deeply. And the figure just flinches from the blow as they take minor damage. [02:22:40] Speaker B: His difficulty's been lowered by Griffin, if that changes anything. [02:22:46] Speaker A: So that. That just makes him easier to hit. [02:22:48] Speaker B: Oh, okay. Makes it easier to hit. [02:22:51] Speaker A: Okay. So he takes minor damage from that crossbow bolt, but he. You notice he is still coming. Who wants to go next? Let me take you ready macros. [02:23:04] Speaker B: I mean, I'm always ready. [02:23:06] Speaker A: Okay. I think Abe's. [02:23:08] Speaker B: Abe's jumping back in is ready. All right. Abe's gonna run forward again, and he will slice and Dice, he's just. He's just really mad that he can't recall who this person is, you know, like he's getting old. He kind of forgets things, forgets where his keys are. He forgets what evil villains he's made in his past. We've all been there. So 27 to hit. [02:23:43] Speaker A: That is a hit with hope. With hope. So roll your damage. [02:23:49] Speaker B: Damage. Roll. 12. We're going to use my horns. 14. [02:23:56] Speaker A: 14 is my. Okay. So as you run in with your h. With your axe, what I can only imagine is this, like, rising sweep up, the figure, like, drops into a slightly lower position, like a more defensive position as you approach. And as your sword switch swings up, you notice he sort of attempts to lean backwards away from your blow to give him the momentum to then swing in a counter attack. But you slot, like, in sliding your front hoof forward slightly on the cobblestones. That gives you a few inches of extra reach. And your axe, as you deal minor damage to him, catches the lip of the figure's helmet. And you hear a. As the helmet is launched off the figure's head and goes clattering to the cobblestone behind. And as the figure, like head back, turned away, your mind flashes as you see this dark, blood red hair streaming down from this figure's head. And as the figure turns to look back to you, you see this sickly, sallow skin that is cracked and glowing with a sickly green lng, much like the axe. And Abe. Time stops for a moment as you recognize the figure as Exo Draven, one of the people, one of the members of the village of Rice Vilnaar that you haven't seen since before the war, As you see this look, this twisted, distorted look of rage etched across Exo Draven's face as he looks to you with these burning green eyes. Tell me about the last time you tell me of a memory that you had with Exo. Perhaps the one in a river. Once upon a time. [02:26:35] Speaker B: Once upon a time. So the last time that. So, yeah, he's. I think Abe's suddenly just astounded that it's this person under the helmet. And the last time he saw him was he didn't have this corruption, if you would, to his. His face. And he remembers that Esko was a child. Well, was a child and. Or a young person in the village that he. That he grew up in or Esko grew up in. And he remembers a time where Esko was trying to build a bridge over the river in the village. And it was cursing and cursing as the. Every time he built this little bridge, the river was sort of flowing through it and sort of scattering it all to the sides. And he sort of. Abe watched as he was getting more and more frustrated, but he saw that escrow sort of quietened, sort of listened to the water, sort of felt it out, and returned sort of day after with a new design that worked with the flow of the river and created something quite beautiful. So he's quite shocked that this sort of like, frustrated, but kind of genius sort of child has turned into this sort of monster that's before him. [02:28:30] Speaker A: And I think the term monster is apt indeed, because this, the quiet young man that you remembered from the village has been lost beneath this. He looks grotesquely swollen with some sort of power. And you remember that in the conversations that you had with him when he was trying to build his bridge, he. He. He was cursing and tatting. And no matter what I. No matter what I do, the river just seems to wash it away. It's just. It's infuriating that it can just. It does it so dispassionately, so, so carelessly. All I'm trying to do is make things better able, Rick. That's all I want to. And as you console him and suggest that perhaps he go away and relook at his plans leading to the beautiful creation he makes the next day, the memory you have in your mind of his smiling face perhaps being one of your last memories of him, because not long after that, news from the lowlands of a war, so the sighting of dragons, the dragons descending from the heavens begin to filter up to the mountaintops that enclose the city, that the town of Riceville Nar. And perhaps you discussed your conversations with Exo, with your wife on those troubling days as rumors of war and conflicts between the people that below in the lands below, began to become more and more prominent and numerous. And you remember the fallout that you remember hearing of the arguments and the somewhat dramatic display when X accused the elders of Riceville Nar for of complacency. Why did they not want to help those down below? Why did they not want to make a difference? And that was the last you heard of Exo as he left the village soon after. But that smiling face that. That you have etched in your memory from that day at the river now looks deeply, deeply lost beneath this malicious and violent snarl that he now wears. And as he. As he kind of brings his head back up and you. You see his. His skin cracking ever so more under the like to reveal more of this green glow, he looks to you and yes, Abel. [02:31:48] Speaker F: Rick. Yes. I've had an epiphany since we last met. [02:31:56] Speaker A: He says as he drops back into a better battle ready stance. [02:32:02] Speaker F: You told taught me one very important lesson that day by the river. Why build bridges when you can become the river itself? [02:32:18] Speaker A: And I will spend a fear to immediately activate. [02:32:25] Speaker B: Was not the lesson I. [02:32:26] Speaker A: Was trying to teach. And as he. As he takes a step towards you hefting his axe. Can I. I will quickly roll a D8. You feel the tug at your chest as this. This feeling of insatiable hunger ripples out from exo. But as he. As you resist that the axe swings down. He will you. You feel that he's surging with this. With this dark purpose. So we'll add plus three to the attack. The first. The first blow goes wide and then he immediately follows up with a second swing for a 13 to hit. 21 damage. Your unstoppable is still active I believe. [02:33:41] Speaker B: Until next until I next go. So I can still take that down by one and then another and then. Oh my God. [02:33:49] Speaker D: I'm gonna run out of armor. [02:33:50] Speaker B: Okay. [02:33:52] Speaker A: Okay, I will. Who wants to go next? Griffin hasn't been in a while. [02:34:04] Speaker B: Just. Just watching as he's doing like I am the river. [02:34:16] Speaker D: No, that's gonna hurt everyone else. [02:34:18] Speaker A: I can't do that. [02:34:21] Speaker B: Killing a kitten. [02:34:22] Speaker D: Well, I've got fireball. [02:34:25] Speaker B: Oh no. [02:34:28] Speaker A: Probably not. [02:34:32] Speaker D: I. I think he's after seeing sort of like his friends, like his new friends sort of really try and hammer down at this guy. He's just going to up the courage as well. [02:34:45] Speaker A: And he's going to go after him with his cut. Especially seeing Abe take all this flack. [02:34:52] Speaker D: He's going to go. [02:34:53] Speaker B: No. [02:34:56] Speaker C: Did. Did you want to potentially tag team? [02:35:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:35:01] Speaker A: Well I have five hope. Just real quick. Can I have a instinct reaction roll please? Griffin. [02:35:09] Speaker E: Oh, from Griffin or he's getting into his melee range. [02:35:21] Speaker A: I gang too fear come up. Go back up to three. [02:35:28] Speaker B: No, take his mask off. [02:35:30] Speaker A: He goes back to Cooper. Well Griffin, are we gonna see a Griffin Cooper tag team? [02:35:43] Speaker C: Do you want to try something? Because if you wanna. If you want to cut the sim then maybe I can try and stab it. Like I go low, you go high. [02:35:51] Speaker A: Sort of. [02:35:54] Speaker E: Get him. [02:35:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [02:35:55] Speaker B: My two little boys coming in. [02:36:02] Speaker C: So if I. I use my dagger. [02:36:04] Speaker D: We still have advantage on him, don't we Dan? At the moment, no. It's his difficulty that's down. [02:36:09] Speaker A: He has activated now. So that vulnerability is gone. [02:36:14] Speaker C: But the minus 2 is still there, isn't it? [02:36:16] Speaker D: The minus 2 should still be there. [02:36:17] Speaker A: Minus twos. Well, that was a temporary thing, right? [02:36:21] Speaker D: No. [02:36:22] Speaker A: Make a scene. Temporarily distract. [02:36:25] Speaker B: No. [02:36:28] Speaker C: That'S fine. [02:36:28] Speaker A: He is no longer distracted. [02:36:31] Speaker C: Okay, so I'm. So I'll spend the hope regardless of what happens, because I've got the hope, but I'm gonna add street smarts to my dagger. And also, he's in melee with a right, so I should get sneak attack if I hit. [02:36:46] Speaker A: So Cooper's going one way, Griffin's going the other. [02:36:51] Speaker B: Oh, them bones. [02:36:54] Speaker C: That was bad. [02:36:55] Speaker B: Oh, did somebody do it? [02:36:57] Speaker D: No one did. No one did a crap. [02:37:01] Speaker A: 12 with hope. Or 15. [02:37:03] Speaker D: I've still got a rally dice. [02:37:05] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [02:37:08] Speaker B: Nice. 20. [02:37:09] Speaker A: 20 with fear. [02:37:11] Speaker D: With fear. [02:37:12] Speaker A: Are we happy with that? That is a hit. I go up one just in the side, real quick. Cooper, reaction instinct roll, please. You fail that, so I gain another four. Fear, You have hit. So the two of you roll your attacks. 12, 24, 28. Damage. As. As he tussles with Abe, the two of you launching your. How do you tag team him from either flank? [02:38:18] Speaker D: I think we just. We just look at each other and then run around. [02:38:23] Speaker C: Yeah, I feel like, okay, yeah, one. [02:38:26] Speaker A: Of you goes low. One of you goes high. [02:38:28] Speaker C: Yeah, I go low with the dagger. [02:38:30] Speaker D: I'll go high. [02:38:32] Speaker A: In which case, as the two of you stab into this exo Draven. That is major damage. He takes two hit points, and he, like. He. As you kind of stab into him, it's like, you know, you're blades slide between armor plates, and then he, like, swings his arms outwards, catching the two of you and launching them. Launching you back off him to kind of give himself some space. And you can see where you've. Where you've made your attacks. His blood seems to be this luminous green glow. I had this luminous green glow to it, which does not in any way, shape, or form look natural. And you've rolled a. So that you use the nature with the fear. Cooper's role. Griffin's role with the fear. So he will immediately activate. So you had to go. Now it's back to him. He will bellow to me and. [02:39:44] Speaker B: Four more marauders. [02:39:48] Speaker A: I'll just grab these from up here. Four more marauders arrive, summoned by their master's call. Pull them down here. Put them down here. They will immediately activate. And as they rush in to protect their liege, he. When he activates. Sorry. He's gonna roll a D8. And the hunger does not wound any of you. Like claw out to any of you. But as these. As more marauders rush in on Draven's position, Exo looks to you, Abe. And. [02:40:37] Speaker F: Everything the war taught me is that the gods are careless, he says. [02:40:42] Speaker A: And as one of the marauders runs in, he grabs a marauder around the throat and lifts them up, much like he did with that door with that guard a little while ago. And you watch as Exo's hand glows green and the marauder screams that. It's a scream of pain, but it's tinged with one of. Of joy as the life is sucked out of the marauder's body and a withered husk is discarded to the ground. Jesus and Exo. And you watch as some of the wounds on Exo's face and body heal and begin stitching themselves back together. And as he looks. He looks to you. And. [02:41:31] Speaker F: There is one thing that I've learned from the dragons. They said that they are all powerful and almighty, but that is the great lie. Just like us. They can die like us. And I will see them all fall. We created gods, therefore we are gods ourselves, he says. [02:41:53] Speaker A: And as he gives this speech, the marauders seem kind of taken in this kind of euphoric, like, epiphanic joy as he preaches to you. He's done his two actions. Who's going to take the next turn? Cassandra's not had a go in a while. [02:42:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [02:42:16] Speaker E: Mr. Holmes. Yeah. Cass has just watched this. She is going to. Yeah. She will draw alimony again. And she will aim. She'll head. She'll head this way. So she's not aiming through Abe. [02:42:36] Speaker A: Yep. [02:42:38] Speaker E: And she will aim. [02:42:41] Speaker A: Okay. Do you want to spend any hope for an experience? Experience? Just not in this moment. [02:42:50] Speaker E: I don't think I have an experience to draw from anyway. [02:42:56] Speaker A: In which case, as you kind of scoot around the corner and take aim and fire, Exo, like, turns to you. He seems much more. He seems much quicker on his feet all of a sudden, like he's surging with this. Like, with this rising energy. And he brings his gauntlet up and the. The lightning blast from alimony kind of ricochets off his. Off his arm. Arm guard. And then he. That's a move. You've rolled with fear. So I gain a fear. I will then reactivate him. [02:43:30] Speaker D: He. [02:43:34] Speaker E: He. [02:43:34] Speaker A: Then. So as he brings his arms down, and there's this look of, like, crazed. There's this crazed look in his eyes as he. And his mouth cracks and distorts into this rictus grin. [02:43:52] Speaker F: And as we are the ones who created the world spirits, their essence born. [02:43:57] Speaker A: Of mortal means, it means that. [02:44:00] Speaker F: That if we were to take their essence back within ourselves, we would rise to godhood. [02:44:06] Speaker A: And mark my words, he says as he activates. The hunger that emanates from him claws at you all again, but does not take hold. He will. He consumes another of the marauders to give himself another hit point. [02:44:34] Speaker F: It is my. It is my duty to re. To consume the world spirits in their entirety so I may rise to take my place among the dragons and cast them low. And only then will the world be just. [02:44:54] Speaker A: He says as he takes a wild swing at Abe for 24 to hit. [02:45:00] Speaker B: That hits. [02:45:03] Speaker F: And you are powerless to stop me. [02:45:08] Speaker A: He spits as he deals you 828 damage. [02:45:15] Speaker B: Oh, gonna have to start taking hit points. [02:45:19] Speaker E: Can we activate Guardi at some point for healing? [02:45:24] Speaker A: We can. We can. As he. As he says this, he swings Abe, but you realize that like as Abe is your caught on the axe blade and kind of pushed to the side. He then surges out of this kind of grouping that you've got him in and then kind of begin and looms back over you. Cassandra, who wants to go next? [02:45:47] Speaker C: I want to make sure that if Cass is hit, I get hit instead. Okay, that's my go. I don't know what. [02:45:58] Speaker A: What. [02:45:59] Speaker C: What happens next, but. [02:46:00] Speaker A: So I. I think we will need to move you. Yeah. Okay. I will. I will however ask for a instinct check from Cooper, please. [02:46:14] Speaker C: Yeah, instinct. Is that good. [02:46:23] Speaker A: That is a fail, unfortunately. So I gain one fear. No, because it's. But you can certainly attack and then if you want to, you can absolutely kind of push Cass out the way. If she gets swung out. [02:46:42] Speaker C: Yeah. Okay. I'm going to dagger him. Please, if I can. That was terrible, Cooper. What? At least it would have hoped though. [02:46:54] Speaker A: You do gain a hope. You do gain a hope. I feel. Feel like I've been forgetting these countdowns. So I'll take them down a couple. There are reinforcements very due very soon. There aren't actually very many marauders left apart from the ones he keeps eating them. So. Griffin, what I will do, however, is the two marauders that are left behind, they will activate as it's my turn next. I spend a fear as they dog pile into you and they swing at you with their reaping weapons. 416 to hit. [02:47:37] Speaker C: Yeah, that hits. [02:47:38] Speaker A: You take 10 damage. 10 damage? That is. [02:47:43] Speaker D: Well, that's only minor damage. I will spend a armor slot and. [02:47:49] Speaker A: I will spend another fear. Here, because I am rich with it. Now to reactivate Exo. And in this moment, Cassandra, you can see that like as he glances you for a moment, his gaze flickers for a moment like past you towards the portal to Ava more. And as he looks to the two of you that are seemingly in his way, he activates. And his all devouring hunger will not will trigger. So everyone within, very close. So that is Abe, Cass and Cooper all need to mark one hit point as he. As you feel like something within you devoured. [02:48:40] Speaker B: Do that again. Death. [02:48:44] Speaker A: That's. That's for the patreon. And then as he does this, I've also been forgetting to hammer your hope. So I'll remember that. Now he first swings at QCASS for being in his way. Valid for 15 to hit. [02:49:03] Speaker E: I think that hits. [02:49:06] Speaker A: I will. I will say if someone wants to. [02:49:11] Speaker C: Push you out the way, I'll give all my hope. I've got three cost. [02:49:17] Speaker A: D4 stress. [02:49:19] Speaker C: That's fine. I can do that. [02:49:21] Speaker A: So roll a D4, take that much stress. [02:49:23] Speaker C: D4. [02:49:30] Speaker A: One stress. In which case, Cooper, you will take. 41 damage. [02:49:41] Speaker C: That's a lot. That's a lot of damage. Cool. Let me just double check what that. That looks like. Okay, so, yeah, so 20 is my severe damage. So we're looking at. Let's see the pit again. So, yeah, however, I do have scales. If I get severe, I can use scales to mark one fewer hit point. [02:50:11] Speaker A: Okay. [02:50:12] Speaker C: That's why I wanted to take something. [02:50:14] Speaker A: So two hit points. [02:50:16] Speaker C: Well, no, because surely it's three. Because you said about doubling it to four. [02:50:20] Speaker A: Oh, yes, double. [02:50:22] Speaker C: So genuinely, like. So that would be three hit points, right? [02:50:27] Speaker A: Yes, correct. [02:50:29] Speaker C: Difficulty there is that. I only have. I have five hit points. You take me down to. So it'd be down to two, right? [02:50:39] Speaker A: Yes. [02:50:39] Speaker C: Okay. [02:50:40] Speaker A: Are you not spending armor? [02:50:41] Speaker C: I should spend armor, shouldn't I? That's too bad. [02:50:44] Speaker A: You can spend one armor. [02:50:45] Speaker C: I could spend one armor. So, yeah, so that will take it down to three hit points. [02:50:49] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, Cass, you watch as Cooper, like, pushes you out the way and this ax catches him square across the chest. And you watch as the blade cuts deep into the armor. And Cooper, you feel your ribs crack under the weight of this blade as it launches you back and you bounce off the pillar behind you back into like a standing, unsteady, standing position at Exo's feet. And then he looks to like he. His attention has gone from you, Cass, to you, Cooper. And then as he like, looks backwards and forwards, you know what I'M gonna spend another fear. But not for like any attacks. I'm just gonna pause Exo for a moment. And from the latest group of commoners as they move up. [02:51:54] Speaker B: He'S spitting a. [02:51:55] Speaker E: Fear for the true bbug of this campaign. [02:52:03] Speaker A: You see like Cooper, you as you stagger back for a second and as kind of blood pours out of this large wound across your chest. You look up and see this small red haired goblin girl in a white pink blouse and bright orange dress. And she looks over at the two of you with this like fearful look as she shepherded towards the portal as hopeless Aileen is moved moved to safety. But Draven. I will now spend the fear to reactivate him. His attention has gone from you Cass, to you Cooper, as you put yourself in the way. And then he snarls a second time. [02:53:01] Speaker F: No one will stop me. [02:53:04] Speaker A: 21 to help hit. [02:53:05] Speaker C: Yep, that hits. [02:53:07] Speaker E: Can I. Am I allowed to do anything in that moment? [02:53:10] Speaker A: You can. What is it you're thinking? [02:53:12] Speaker E: Can I blink? Can I blink with him? [02:53:17] Speaker A: I. Yeah. Default stress. Cooper did a few I'll do if you in return. So roll a D4 spend that much stress. [02:53:26] Speaker E: Where's my D4 there you. [02:53:30] Speaker A: A three three stress. [02:53:32] Speaker B: That's fine. [02:53:33] Speaker A: You two may blink away as Exo springs the axe down in this executatory like execution style swing to to end the man Cooper. Where if you move your token to wherever you want to move it to and then I'll move Cooper with you. [02:53:53] Speaker E: Where would be a good I'm. I'm gonna. [02:53:56] Speaker A: I will also remind everyone that they need to all reduce a hope. Lose a hope and I gain a fear because Exo made a successful attack. [02:54:08] Speaker E: I. I think I will. I'll grab Cooper and we will go. We will go here. [02:54:14] Speaker A: Okay. In which case Cooper, you like as you look up at this blade that's swinging that. That's swinging down to you and you know in this moment that this is. This is the blow that ends your life. You feel your stomach kind of give out like lurch out from underneath you and your lung air fills your lungs and it hurts for the wound across your chest as you hear this as the axe drives into the cobblestone where you once stood. And you realize that Cass has got your arm having just teleported you to the other side of the pillar. And Exo looks over his shoulder in anger and then like snarls and then looks back to the portal just in time for Captain Faniel to rush forward and like draw a rapier and you'll go no further. He shouts. Who wants to take next turn? [02:55:16] Speaker B: I'll grab it. I'll take it. [02:55:18] Speaker A: Go, go. [02:55:20] Speaker B: Abe would like to. He's gonna come right up to escrow. [02:55:29] Speaker A: No, exo. [02:55:30] Speaker B: Exo. Like exo talisman. Yeah, Exo. [02:55:33] Speaker A: Can I also have a instinct reaction roll, please? [02:55:40] Speaker B: No, that's not the right one. Instinct. Oh, I'm scared. [02:55:49] Speaker A: That is for fear. I am now maxed at 12. [02:56:06] Speaker B: A mixture of confused and angry. And he doesn't really know. Kids these days, you know, they get all in there. You know, they get a bee in their bonnet about stuff, go on the forums too long, they can become a God. [02:56:26] Speaker E: Try to cancel the Dragons. [02:56:29] Speaker B: Yeah. If you ask me, no cards. Well, I don't know about that. So he's gonna. He's gonna. He's gonna hit him if he can. It was a 20. [02:56:50] Speaker A: That's a 20 as a hit. [02:56:53] Speaker B: Fabulous. And he's just. He's so mad that he's just this. He's gone so wrong. Fab 15. Let's spend a height. 15. 20. [02:57:09] Speaker A: 20 is minor damage. He loses a hit point as he. As he's knocked backward, knocked forwards as you try charge. Charging from behind. And as he turns to you and why. [02:57:28] Speaker F: Why do you persist, Abel? [02:57:30] Speaker C: Rick. [02:57:31] Speaker A: He spits at you. [02:57:33] Speaker B: Well, because you're quarrelling with anyone here. You've got your mind all mixed up and you've got yourself in some trouble. I don't know what you've done, but you ain't who you used to be. [02:57:45] Speaker A: He. He looks to you. [02:57:47] Speaker F: And my quarrel started as soon as I saw explorers dabbling with the world spirits on the isles. I will not suffer any intervention by. I will not suffer any intervention from the hypocrites of Eva Maw. Launching a war on this world in the name of eradicating Arcane Manor, only to use it in the rediscovered world. [02:58:22] Speaker A: Spits on the floor like a luminous green blooded split spit. Who would like to go next? Or would Abe like to have another. Take another lump. [02:58:33] Speaker B: I mean, I'm more than happy to have another crack. [02:58:35] Speaker A: Yeah, Go, go. [02:58:37] Speaker B: Let's double crack it. 26. [02:58:40] Speaker A: That's it. [02:58:42] Speaker B: 9 plus. No, I don't. I'm dashing through hope. 9. [02:58:49] Speaker A: 9. That is minor damage. As you swing at him again. Takes another step back. And why. [02:59:00] Speaker F: Why do you resist? [02:59:02] Speaker A: He. He says, I will spend a fear as he. As you charge him from behind and then take a. A swing at him. He then will attempt to consume your essence. He unfortunately does not consume your essence. So instead he's just going to swing with the axe. A 13 to hit. For 20 damage. [02:59:40] Speaker F: I gave you the opportunity to stand out, and yet you stand before me. [02:59:49] Speaker A: He. As he. Like, as he swings at you, he uses the momentum of the axe swing to then spin on his back hoof and to close the distance on the dragon scent that stands between him and the portal. And he brings his ax down heavily on Thaniel. But Faniel manages to dive out the way as the ax swings wildly. [03:00:20] Speaker F: I will not be stopped. [03:00:23] Speaker A: The. The road. [03:00:24] Speaker F: The road to Avonmore must be closed, he says. [03:00:29] Speaker A: That's his turn done. Who wants to take the next turn? Get your macros, everyone. [03:00:37] Speaker B: I'll just keep hitting him if no one wants to go. [03:00:40] Speaker D: Do you need more hope? [03:00:41] Speaker B: I do. Desperately. [03:00:43] Speaker D: I, Griffin, will run up to Abe and go, like, come on, you've got. You've got him on the ropes as an inspirational word. [03:00:54] Speaker B: And that will run your hope. Oh, very much. Take that. Where's Guardi at? Where's our. [03:01:06] Speaker A: He's currently on the other side of the portal, fighting hoof and tooth with some other marauders and shepherding civilians into the portal. Oh, you've rolled with hopes, haven't you? [03:01:20] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [03:01:22] Speaker A: You've rolled with some hopes. So you've rolled two hopes off the back of your two turns. So as you, Griffin, as you kind of rush towards Abe and, like, exo is kind of sandwiched between Faniel and. And Abe desperately sort of like, fending off their attacks, swinging this hefty great axe around, you watch as the portal just behind Thaniel flares with silver bluish energy. And through the portal step, two concourse mages, Portal major, like, portal portal guards from the concourse of Ava Moore. And as these two mages kind of step in, they look around to assess the situation. And, like, you see that they're appalled by the number of kind of bodies. And you hear, like, a cry of, like, a cheer as these mages step forward and you see them conjure like, runes between their gauntleted hands. And the remaining commoners make it through to the portals. They'll make it through to the portal to safety. So I will, with the emergence of the portal guards, grant everyone to hope. Yay. Yes. Two portal guards, a Larovar woman and a. A goblin woman dressed in the uniforms of the concourse portal Portal guard arrive to help the. The remaining commoners carry on. Griffin. [03:03:09] Speaker D: I've done. I've done. I've. I've given an inspirational word. So I've given Abe another hope. [03:03:16] Speaker A: Okay. Abe, you have four hope if you want to take your next step. [03:03:24] Speaker B: Yeah, I will say, sir. 18. [03:03:31] Speaker A: 18. [03:03:33] Speaker B: Yeah, it's an 18. [03:03:34] Speaker A: It's a hit. Yeah. [03:03:37] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's. Oh, I'm gonna mark a stress and make one of those an 8. [03:03:47] Speaker A: Okay, please. 16. So it's 19 damage plus. [03:03:52] Speaker B: And then I'm gonna. I'm gonna horn him. [03:04:00] Speaker A: So you have rolled. So what is it? 16, 19, 20 damage? [03:04:07] Speaker B: 20 still minor. [03:04:11] Speaker A: 20 damage is minor damage. Abe, tell me how this happens. I finally got him. [03:04:29] Speaker B: Finally got him, I think. [03:04:33] Speaker A: And bear in mind it's a minor. [03:04:34] Speaker B: Blow. [03:04:37] Speaker A: That has brought him low. [03:04:43] Speaker B: Minor blow. I think he's. He could see that he's trying to make a dash for the portal, and he will. This is really mean. Could I take out his hamstrings, please? You can. And I slice his. Slice his legs like. [03:05:06] Speaker A: As he turns, in which case he turns to fend off an attack from Faniel. He exposes. Yeah, his lower body. And you're able to get down and attack at the back of his hooves. [03:05:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna slice the back of his legs and just say, you ain't going nowhere, son. [03:05:27] Speaker A: And Exo roars in pain as you cut through his Achilles. And he drops. He spins and kind of drops to the ground, unable to stand. And he. As he kneels, like, face contorted in pain and rage as he looks from you to the portal now manned by these portal guards, and back to you. [03:05:52] Speaker B: How. [03:05:55] Speaker A: And as he looks up to you, he says, why? [03:06:01] Speaker F: Why would you stop me in my mission? What do you hope to gain from stopping me? [03:06:08] Speaker B: Oh, I've got nothing to gain, but I got everything to lose. [03:06:14] Speaker A: He. He looks to you, and there's this somewhat pleading look. [03:06:24] Speaker F: This he. [03:06:27] Speaker A: You know. [03:06:28] Speaker F: You know what I say is wrong, right? [03:06:30] Speaker A: You know that the world spirits are born of mortals. We. [03:06:33] Speaker F: All we need to do is take their essences back and we can make the world as we see fit. Why? Why would you stop me? [03:06:44] Speaker B: Well, if that's the world that you want, I don't want none of it. I don't want to be like you. Look at you. Curse he. [03:06:53] Speaker A: He looks to you. And in a somewhat pleading manner, you. [03:06:58] Speaker F: You could all. You could also imbue yourself with the. [03:07:02] Speaker A: Power of the world spirits. [03:07:04] Speaker F: Just join me. [03:07:05] Speaker A: Abel. Rick. [03:07:06] Speaker F: We. [03:07:06] Speaker A: You. [03:07:07] Speaker F: You were. You were like a father to me. Back in rice vilnar. Join me in the consumption of the world spirits. What do you have to lose? [03:07:19] Speaker B: Well, they'll. The whole world. Can I. Can I. Can I Dispatch him. [03:07:25] Speaker A: You can. [03:07:26] Speaker B: Fabulous. Because he's looking down at him. I think he feels like a mixture of like, rage and also pity that he's become. It's almost like the idea. The ideas that he had of change were things that Abe also felt was needed within the commune and that it was such a secular society, but obviously it's all become corrupted in his greed for more and more power. And he just kind of looks at him and you go, you just. I don't think whatever the world you want is not good for no one. And he just takes. It's like, just like killing. Like a. Like an animal if you want to put it out of its misery quite quickly. And he just kind of takes his neck and just kind of puts his arm. Arm around it and just goes and just snaps his neck and just kind of leaves him. He's like, sorry, Esco, but you. What? What? The life that you wanted was not a life worth living. [03:09:02] Speaker A: As you. You put your arms around Exo's neck and you begin to squeeze and you. And he starts to kind of choke as the breath kind of leaves him. He looks up into your eyes the moment in the moments before you twist. And as he, as he this close to him, you suddenly feel this flare of fear and panic well up with inside, within you. And as he, like his neck is being twisted more and more as he desperately tries, he's using all his muscles to. To stop you from twisting, twisting his neck and ending it and breaking it. And as his mouth, with these rotten, blackened, sharpened teeth come close to your ear, he like there's this look of defiance in his eyes as he whispers. [03:10:15] Speaker F: My world is nearer than you think. What makes you think the Titans will be the first world spirits I've devoured? [03:10:29] Speaker A: And as you snap his neck and he goes limp and collapses to the ground, Faniel looks down and looks up to you. And you did it. You did it. He says, as he sort of like gestures to you, somewhat dumbfounded. And Abe, as you release Exo and he. You stand to full height. Ah, how much have I got? 10 fear. [03:11:02] Speaker B: No more. [03:11:04] Speaker A: I'm going to spend all 10 fear. And I will pardon. I'll spend all 10 fear. And Abe, you watch as the. The crackling green glow from his skin and the axe dulls slightly and then begins to glow brighter and brighter. Until. And in a blink of a moment, before you or Griffin or Faniel really have a chance to acknowledge what was happening, You all take 42 direct magic damage as your worlds go. Please mark your healths I don't know where I am. [03:12:27] Speaker C: I can't. [03:12:28] Speaker D: Then. [03:12:28] Speaker C: All right. [03:12:28] Speaker B: Yeah, I think Cooper's. [03:12:30] Speaker A: If you hit C, you can open up your character sheets. 42 direct magical damage. [03:12:38] Speaker C: Yeah, I think I'm. I'm gone. I mean, no, hang on. I can take. I can use armor. [03:12:44] Speaker E: I. I was fully planning to ram a health potion while able. [03:12:48] Speaker B: Direct, isn't it? You can't. You can't take armor slots for it. [03:12:52] Speaker A: Oh, no. [03:12:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [03:12:52] Speaker C: So, yeah, I'm. [03:12:56] Speaker B: I'm also down. I'm. I'm done. [03:13:00] Speaker A: Who has health points left? [03:13:04] Speaker D: Me. [03:13:05] Speaker E: I might do. I think I have. [03:13:08] Speaker A: I have two left. So. Realistically, anyone who had more than four hit points will probably. [03:13:15] Speaker E: I think I'm still up. [03:13:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [03:13:21] Speaker C: Sorry, the cat has given me such a dirty look. [03:13:25] Speaker A: Oh, dead. Yeah. Griffin and Cass. Yeah, you're both up. You both have hit points. [03:13:34] Speaker D: Two left. [03:13:34] Speaker E: So we're going to finish that. This campaign. Yeah. [03:13:40] Speaker A: You feel being slightly Griffin and Cass, your worlds go white and you feel this searing. I'd say a searing heat, but there's the. The burn feels much more insular as this green fire washes over you. And you're not sure how long you are unresponsive. But as the two of you open your eyes, your world's turned from a white to a dark, dusty, dirty brown gray. And between the two of you, you. You feel. The first reactions in your chest are to free yourselves from whatever is holding you down. And as the two of you claw your way out of the rubble, you find yourselves blasted dozens of feet back from where you were at the center of what appears to be a crater that has ripped through the town of Dorlishal. The portal is gone. The rubble of the stones, the columns, scattered like dust in the wind. Cass, as you pick yourself up, you look over your shoulder and notice that Cooper is lying with you and currently appears to be completely unresponsive. Would you like to do anything in this immediate moment, Cass? [03:15:54] Speaker E: I mean, sure, run to Koopa or scramble or limp or whatever she's currently capable of doing. Crawl. [03:16:04] Speaker A: Okay. As you crawl over to Cooper, you said you were gonna feed Cooper a healing potion, so presumably you had it to hand. [03:16:15] Speaker E: Yeah, I assume she was sort of holding it as this. As the world exploded, trying to ram it down his throat. [03:16:23] Speaker A: Okay. As you desperately, like, fumble and like, you're. You feel like your fingers aren't working properly, and as you look around, you can see that there are. There are shapes jutting from the rubble of this. Of people, perhaps too Close to. To the explosion, you can see there are. There are anti shadows scorched across the ground. And as you focus on your fingers and uncork the potion and begin to pour it shakily into Cooper's mouth. Cooper, I believe you gain one D. Four hit points. [03:17:09] Speaker C: Okay. [03:17:12] Speaker A: Wonderful. Griffin, you awaken to a similar situation. And you glance over, you can see that Cass and Cooper have been blasted like clear of the explore quite some considerable way from you. But as you pull yourself up, you see that sprawl over a. Like a. Like a part of the collapsed pillar that you were near the. One of the pillars of the portal. You see Abe. He is motionless, lying alongside the unresponsive but scorched Captain Faniel. [03:18:01] Speaker D: Griffin will bend down. Don't you start laughing. [03:18:06] Speaker B: This is a serious moment to just say Captain Faniel instead. [03:18:12] Speaker A: Oh no. [03:18:13] Speaker E: Our boy. [03:18:16] Speaker D: Griffin is gonna bend down to Abe, fully believing that it was probably Abe that protected him from the majority of the blast because he was standing behind him. He's. He's going to sort of shake him by the shoulders and try and use his inspirational word again. Token to. To. In technical terms, give him another hit point and say like, come on, Come on. [03:18:47] Speaker E: You could. [03:18:50] Speaker D: You're not going to go down now, are you? [03:18:52] Speaker A: Come on, get up off the back of your inspirational word. Abe, you regain one hit point. And Griffin, you watch as Abe takes a ragged breath and coughs and splutters. Oh my God. And perhaps this is the moment when you take a closer look at Thaniel and realize that what is lying next to Abe is only Faniel's top half. [03:19:26] Speaker C: My boy. [03:19:28] Speaker A: I moved him. [03:19:29] Speaker C: Keep gone. [03:19:34] Speaker A: From. From within the. The. As. So Griffin and Abe, as you. As Abe kind of comes back to life somewhat and begins moving. Abe, you're feeling like you can't really move much. But Griffin, you can now see now that the portal is obliterated at the center of this. Near the center of this crater. And you realize the epicenter was where Exo Draven once was. And you can see shards of the blackened metal armor jutting resulting from the rubble like a. A widespread and macabre grave site. You can see like the unconscious form of Gi amongst the rubble of the pillar that was on the far side of the portal that has also been flattened. He looks okay, but unconscious. [03:20:38] Speaker E: Is he still a llama? [03:20:40] Speaker A: He's reverted back from llama form. Cass and Cooper, as you pick yourselves up, what do you do? [03:20:55] Speaker C: Could I ask? Because I think it's an interesting dynamic when it comes to Daggerheart. [03:21:00] Speaker A: It doesn't. [03:21:00] Speaker C: It isn't a dynamic in DND because technically, we did die. Can we have some sort of scarring or scorching or something that relates to what killed us? So I think that. [03:21:16] Speaker A: That. [03:21:17] Speaker C: That sounds pretty thematic, considering what the hell just happened to us. [03:21:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [03:21:22] Speaker C: I say not to talk to Livy, but certainly for Cooper. I'm happy for there's something. [03:21:26] Speaker A: There is the scar for if you drop zero, you can take a scar. [03:21:32] Speaker B: Okay. [03:21:36] Speaker A: Yeah. What. What do the two. Where is the first place the two of you go? [03:21:42] Speaker E: I mean, I think as soon as Cooper kind of wakes up from being dead, Cass, like, just unfolds him in the. With, like, the hardest hug ever. Crushes the hit point out of him. [03:21:59] Speaker C: Oh, oh, oh, oh. [03:22:01] Speaker B: I'm too scared. [03:22:05] Speaker C: I'm all right. [03:22:06] Speaker E: I think you are an idiot. [03:22:11] Speaker C: That's not really much of a change then, is it? [03:22:15] Speaker E: No. [03:22:16] Speaker C: Are you okay? Well, that accident torn you apart. [03:22:25] Speaker B: Well. [03:22:28] Speaker E: Yeah, but then it almost. It did tear you apart, sort of. [03:22:33] Speaker C: I think the blast did the worst of the damage, if I'm honest. [03:22:37] Speaker E: Don't do that again. [03:22:40] Speaker A: As you chastise cooperation. Cassandra. From the rubble, a little way over the way, you hear a soft and feeble pained cough. And as the two of you turn your attentions over beneath the rubble, you spy a glimpse of orange fabric. Bright orange fabric. And appearing slightly closer, you see it paired with a bright. The cloth. The bright pink cloth of a blouse. I thought she went through the portal. [03:23:33] Speaker C: Apparently she did not go through the portal. [03:23:37] Speaker D: Can we. [03:23:37] Speaker C: Can we help her? Can, like, if we notice this, can we both go over and help her? This is obviously something you can do. [03:23:43] Speaker A: As you rush over to AEN and you, Cooper. You see. Well, the two of you see that there is a large piece of, like, masonry rubble that is currently pinning her down. And it's just bits of her skirt and, like, the sleeve of her arm that's poking out from under the rubble. And as the two of you presumably work together to lift the rubble off. [03:24:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [03:24:10] Speaker A: As the mace. As the rubble billows dust out as you flip to toss it off her, you see Aileen look up to you with her big. Her big hopeful eyes glistening with pain and tear. And as she looks up to you, she. She looks up to you, and there's confusion for a moment, and then there's a ever so weak smile. And then she looks down at the large piece of wood skewering her through the torture. Uncle. You saved each other. There is hope. She stops moving. Aben. Griffin, what do you do? [03:25:30] Speaker B: I think Abe just not like just kind of shaken from a near death experience, but not. He's quite stoic, so he's just kind of like gets up and his first thought is where he kind of looks around, he sees that GI is unconscious and just kind of using his like axe as like a sort of bit of a sort of temporary walking stick as his legs completely sort of been blown out. He's just kind of, he's just like, come on Griff, let's go get him. [03:26:13] Speaker A: As the two of you rush over to Gardi, you find that he is. He's in a bad way, but he is stable. And as you begin to tend to your wounds in however best way you can, Griffin, you cut glance at one of the the jagged armor fragments worn by Exo Draven that is embedded into the ground. And you realize that the force of his explosion would have detonated his armor like a fragmentation grenade. And as you turn and look at it and it almost, it almost. You almost get this sensation that it's staring at you, staring back at you in Defiance. And as you what, look at it, you watch as the armor fragment begins to vibrate and it. The vibration, the increasing shaking makes it dislodge from the rubble it's embedded in. And as Abe tends to Guardi, you watch as this armor show out starts sliding along the floor. And as you follow its path, you notice it's heading back to the scrap, the center of the explosion. And more shards from all around the the blast site begin converging. And you watch as this from the feet up, this glowing green skeleton of a Keeper begins to manifest as the armor begins attaching to it, as tendrils of green light begin reaching out and begin pulling themselves back together. And Griffin Azure stood paralyzed at the the sight of what you're seeing. The other far the other four of you. The other three of you. Sorry. You also notice the horror that appears to be the silhouette of Exo Draven reforming. And as this glowing green skeleton builds up more and more and the twisted armor plates flick back on and you hear the sound of screeching metal as they form back into shape. And the last part of it that you, Abe, you see as Exo's face reforms bar the cracks in the skin and there is a look of determination on his face. [03:29:12] Speaker F: I told you these will not be the first gods I've consumed. Stay out of my way, he says. [03:29:26] Speaker A: And as the axe returns to his hand, the Keeper turns and leaves, leaving the four of you in the devastation of Dollar Shop. Congratulations on completing episode seven. [03:30:01] Speaker B: Don't feel like we've really kind of got any further, I think. I feel like we've gone back a couple oh no. [03:30:12] Speaker A: As the four of you look across the devastated landscape of the town of Dorlishal, I would like to thank you for playing. Thank you in chat for watching. And if you would like to see where this story goes next, I heartily recommend hitting the like button subscribing on YouTube, following on on Twitch, joining our free discord where I'm sure there will be much discussion about what has happened tonight and perhaps some speculation on where our adventurer goes next. Perhaps it will be a bit of a behind the scenes chats, so I heartily recommend you stick around to watch for that next week. Yes, thank you all for watching. Thank you all for playing. We'll see you all next time. [03:31:35] Speaker B: Bye bye.
