[00:00:00] Speaker A: Whoo. Hello. Hello.
[00:00:02] Speaker B: That was a real Jason Statham intro, wasn't it?
[00:00:06] Speaker A: Hi. Hello. DM Dan from the future. It seems like someone forgot to hit record at the start of this episode, so we don't have the normal video recording that we'd normally have. The audio is absolutely fine, so if you keep watching, the video will come back in due course. Sorry for the whoopsie. Hope you still enjoyed.
[00:00:26] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:00:27] Speaker A: Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. I'm DM Dan. Welcome to Explorers of elsewhere's Elysia Rising campaign.
Hi.
I am joined by five of the bravest, noblest crims this side of the hellspawn that they found themselves in.
Hello. You all good?
[00:00:47] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:00:48] Speaker A: Are you all. Are you all prepared for what is to come?
[00:00:54] Speaker D: Can we ever be?
[00:00:56] Speaker A: I mean, I'm a massive fan of the enthusiasm for the job that you don't know about yet.
Yeah, I. Well, I know what's going on and I think it's fiendishly brilliant and I would love to share it with you. Would you?
Shall we. Shall we take each other's hands and step boldly into the light?
[00:01:20] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: Marvelous.
Right, let's go.
Welcome to Elysia, the jewel of the north.
[00:01:37] Speaker E: On our gilded streets, fortune and fame can be found by anyone.
[00:01:44] Speaker B: Hi, I'm Julia and I'm playing Magpie, an ace of our lurk.
[00:01:49] Speaker D: Hi, I'm Nate and I'm playing cavern, a dragon scent slide.
[00:01:55] Speaker E: Hi, I'm Meg. I'm playing Frieda, a wolfkin cutter.
[00:01:59] Speaker F: Hi, I'm JC and I'll be playing Algernon, an ace of our spider.
[00:02:05] Speaker C: Hello, I'm Erol. I am playing Atta, a goblin whisper.
[00:02:10] Speaker A: And my name is DM Dan. I will be the games master on this adventure. So come on in and marvel at our wonders.
[00:02:19] Speaker E: Make sure you see the beautiful views we have to offer. And don't mind the ghosts. They're friendly, really. Grab yourselves a seat and make yourselves.
[00:02:29] Speaker B: Welcome in the city of Elysia.
[00:02:37] Speaker A: Faith is a powerful driver, especially in a world where the very gods themselves descended from the heavens. Seeing such a majesty given physical form proved to be life changing for many, giving credibility and weights to their devotion.
A belief in a higher guiding power can provide a support structure for someone, reinforcing their commitment to see a task to completion regardless of the scope of their endeavour.
The fear of an insurmountable or unenviable task can be soothed by the promise of acceptance or reward thanks to one's faith leading to monumental acts.
What then comes of the faithful when the task asked of them is heinous. Running counter to their natural guiding principles.
The War of the heavens tested many people's faith as the two sides fought over wrong and right, where the resolve of the most faithful allowed them to rise to prominence in a battle that for some, never ended.
And so we will take a quick pit stop to welcome Meg back. Hi, Meg.
Hello.
We need to do a speedy downtime for Frieda in the aftermath of the castle Antille drop.
We've done. We've done a bit of the natter off screen, so we've acknowledged that during that job, you did a desperate wreck.
[00:04:24] Speaker E: Yep.
[00:04:25] Speaker A: Desperate five dice wreck. So we've marked a point in your prowess XP bar and kind of between your.
Between using your shoulder to open doors multiple times, punching ghosts, deciding on the plan to set the golem that was stomping around on the intruders. We've decided that that kind of culminated in the grand total of three XP.
Yes, three additional.
[00:04:59] Speaker E: And that means I've got a fancy new ability.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Fancy new ability. Yes, it does.
[00:05:05] Speaker E: Racing my inner meat shield. And I've taken bodyguard.
[00:05:10] Speaker A: Amazing. Yep. Three XP was exactly what you needed. So bodyguard will let you. Yeah, roll extra resistant dice when you step in to save one of your companions from a horrible consequence.
And I'm sure that will pair beautifully with your reckless trauma.
[00:05:31] Speaker E: Oh, I hope so.
[00:05:32] Speaker A: Marvelous. So we've Frieda all kind of tanked up and will mark the gold that you would have picked up off the job as well.
We will quickly shoot to your two downtime activities. So what were your two activities?
[00:05:50] Speaker E: So Frida's heading straight to the fighting pits and her old mate Jocasta to do two things, and that is indulge in her vice to reduce some stress and also hopefully to get Jocasta's help in sort of doing some healing because Frida's still got that really nasty cut to the face that she got from old bargain bin Darth Vader.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: Well, yes.
[00:06:17] Speaker E: Bargain bin Darth Vader's minion.
Oh, that's it. Jeff had a really cool name. I couldn't remember what it is.
[00:06:25] Speaker A: Yes, the coolest name.
Yes, good old Jeff.
So, yeah, maybe that sounds absolutely sound as you. I guess it's almost like being a lover and a fighter, but in your case, it's more just like a fighter and a fighter. So please roll me a zero dice. Indulge as you hurl yourself into the fighting pits.
[00:06:49] Speaker E: Oh, yes. How much? Oh, gosh, I've got to see how much stress I've got. I've got all the stress. 1234-5677.
[00:07:08] Speaker B: Disadvantage. That's great.
[00:07:10] Speaker A: Double six.
[00:07:11] Speaker E: No, no, I'm mad. I'm mad because I bethe now my rolls for the whole game are going to freely. Shit.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: You don't know that.
You don't know that.
[00:07:21] Speaker C: Six is the whole session.
[00:07:24] Speaker B: Only sixes this session.
[00:07:26] Speaker A: Okay, so all the way down to one stress. Very, very well done. Double six on the stress.
[00:07:32] Speaker B: Wow, that's great.
[00:07:34] Speaker A: I daren't describe the state that your opponent was in after you came swaggering out of the. Of the arena and as a lot.
[00:07:49] Speaker E: Of pent up rage.
[00:07:50] Speaker A: Yes. As you kind of slump down on your. On the stool and Jocasta kind of comes over with like a water bottle and a rag to kind of mop you down a little bit.
You like. She winces because it's clear that the cut that Jeff delivered to you across your kind of eye and cheek has opened up during the battle.
But as she. So I think in the past we have acknowledged her as a one dice like a tier, one like apothecary. So let's roll and see how well she does.
[00:08:30] Speaker E: Not so well.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: Not so well. So that is one. So that's a two. So one segment of your healing clock as. Yeah. Jocasta's spending more time kind of chastising you for constantly opening, like, the wound on your face.
Yeah, she, like, she tuts as she kind of restitches you back together and gently suggests that you stop solving your problems with your face.
I.
[00:09:02] Speaker E: But my face is, uh, so pretty as it is. You know, it's just some girls wear makeup, I get punched.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: It's.
[00:09:10] Speaker E: It's what I do.
[00:09:12] Speaker A: Um, like, Jocasta, like, purses her lips and you hear us like a sharp suck on the teeth.
She shakes her head at you, um, and you feel like she kind of gouges you a bit deeper with one of the needle stitches to kind of tell you off.
Yeah, there we are. So you've. That's your two activities. You're on the road to recovery, and you're significantly more less stressed.
So that brings us back to everyone else, and you've all kind of gathered together because it would seem that Algernon has an idea for the source of your next score.
[00:10:03] Speaker F: So Algernon has got into some hot water with the church, some hot holy water.
And he assumes that high priestess Esau is going to be sending word to him very soon about what she wants his part of this deal to be.
But little does she know that it's all part of his plan.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: All part of the plan.
Well, very, very good. Yes. And sure enough, the invite to the cathedral of our glorious mother comes very, very quickly.
Not very long after the castle Antiller drop.
And who is the letter asks.
Yeah, asks for your attendance.
So you may share.
You may share with the high priestess the truths of your sins. So as. So as much, you may be unburdened by their weight.
[00:11:25] Speaker F: Well, it sounds like a jolly old time. Who wants to join me?
[00:11:31] Speaker A: Who is going to the cathedral to meet with high priestess Esau?
[00:11:36] Speaker B: Are we all allowed to.
We should all go.
[00:11:40] Speaker E: Absolutely. You know I'm always in for a potential scrap.
[00:11:45] Speaker D: I think. I think Catherine's gonna be sitting there a bit like a pouting child, like. No, don't want to go. But seeing that everyone is going will go along as well.
[00:11:54] Speaker E: Oh, come on, kav. Don't you want to see the look on their faces?
[00:11:58] Speaker D: He looks at you coldly again, Frida. He's not listening to you.
[00:12:04] Speaker F: Now, just so we're all on the same page, the plan is to go in there and act like we're unburdening ourselves of sin and doing everything that they want. Our goal is to find out exactly what the faith is up to, particularly in regards to the sangha of our prisoners, and then we can decide whether or not we want to go along with it and how.
[00:12:25] Speaker C: So we should tell.
We should tell them everything. We've. What. What should we not tell?
[00:12:33] Speaker A: Well, I mean, it's up to you whether you want to treat it as a genuine confessional. But, um.
So the. The five of you, um, make your way, presumably as subtly as you can, because, you know, you are now some of the more wanted individuals in Alicia sporting that healthy to to wanted, wanted level two.
But as you. You make your way into Abbott's gate and you notice as you're walking through the streets, like when you've been here recently, in, like, previous days, you've almost kind of felt. You could feel the tension between the. The marauding bands of, like, children of Aya rubbing up against the marauding bands of the city watch of Abbott's gate. But this time around, you notice that the. The watch are in suspiciously lower numbers, like, quite considerably so, in so much that the streets themselves look like they've all but been kind of taken over by the children of ire. Um, and the, you know, the. The sound of kind of their hymns and psalms as they're walking through the streets, um, you know, fundamentally bringing the faith to you. Uh, so as you don't have to bring yourself through the faith.
But yeah, it just, it just has a very, very different feel to how it's done before.
And Cavern, I mean, you acknowledge that it's this, what you're seeing is almost kind of the world that was idolized when you were part of the faith, but for everyone else, it just kind of gives you this kind of insight into this kind of bizarre, this bizarre kind of iron grip that promises you sooth and sucker whilst throttling you.
But as you head down the street to the huge, frankly, very impressive building that is the cathedral, as you ascend the stairs up into the hall, looking across this sea of like, white stone, like cream yellow, a cream yellow carpet that runs from the entrance all the way to the altar at the far end, as well maintained as they can be, stained glass windows depicting aya and her more faithful children in various forms.
And like a number of clergy striding up and down the aisles to like, giving, you know, placing hands on worshippers and offering quiet whispers as you make your way to the like. Well, I'm guessing perhaps some of you know, Kevin, you definitely will. Um, the confessional area over in the far left corner, um, as you're, as the five of you like approach, um, you know, you are noticed by this small, authoritative looking goblin woman who with white kind of paint, face paint across her cheeks in lines depicting symbology of aya. And she excuses herself from one of the clerics and begins to move to the confessional area as well.
As the five of you make your way in and the door is closed, you find yourselves in a relatively small room with, it's quite cramped for the five of you, but there is a stall in the middle of this effect. You, some of you might ungenerously call it a broom closet of sorts. There's a small stall in the middle and you can see small kind of holes in the wooden wall to the left of the, of the stall. And through the holes you can make out the outline of the goblin priestess.
[00:17:23] Speaker G: I assume you have come here to unburden yourself of the sins for the past.
[00:17:31] Speaker F: As per your invitation. I hope you don't mind. I brought a plus four.
[00:17:37] Speaker A: Hello.
[00:17:40] Speaker G: In our mission to relieve Alicia of the evils that have shackled her for so long, I am glad to have seen that you have brought so many who have placed their faith in our mother glorious.
Hello, Cavern.
It has been a while.
[00:18:02] Speaker D: Hello, priestess.
[00:18:08] Speaker G: Hi, Priestess Catherine.
[00:18:12] Speaker D: Hello. Hi, priestess.
[00:18:22] Speaker G: I will get straight to the matter for recent events have brought to us some alarming news, and our efforts, seemingly, are being rebuked across the city.
There is one faction in particular who has consistently rebuked our generous offerings of peace and cooperation. And we find ourselves in a position where we can no longer abide their insolence.
They have set plans in motion that, should they come to fruition, threaten the sanctity of Alicia herself. And we will not allow Alicia to fall into depravity and hedonism as a result of their actions.
I assume we are of one mind, with this goal of saving that which we hold most dear.
There is a ringleader at the centre of these machinations, and by my divine right, I am requesting that you remove this perpetrator of heresy and sin.
[00:20:08] Speaker F: You have done us such a huge favor in keeping out of our way in the ivory. It's only right we could point our resources in your direction.
[00:20:22] Speaker G: That is appreciated, Mister Cadwallader. I can only apologize for the any implications that were wrought upon some of our more pious followers, who may or may not have visited the home of sin in itself.
But be assured that whilst we approve of some of our adherents more rigorous, faithful practices, she has been suitably chastised.
The mastermind of these actions, I feel for a group of individuals such as yourselves, should prove little resistance.
They are a sorry, sorry example of one who has turned. Been turned from the light for too long. Whose soul and sensibilities have been shriveled by the darkness that they cling to.
The name is Masto Van.
[00:22:03] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:22:06] Speaker D: Can'T say we've never heard of him.
[00:22:12] Speaker G: Masto van is the head of a criminal syndicate organization that is currently wreaking havoc across the city.
And his current plans threaten the safety of the city, and are efforts with which to save Elysia.
[00:22:32] Speaker E: I've got to ask.
[00:22:33] Speaker F: What.
[00:22:33] Speaker E: What are his plans exactly?
How. How does this Mostauvan threaten the city?
[00:22:47] Speaker A: The list.
[00:22:49] Speaker G: The list of things with which this criminal is involved with is exhaustive. But rest be assured that none of them are good for any of us.
[00:23:07] Speaker E: You've got to give us a little example. I mean, I. We're definitely on the same page. I just. Just need to get a flow of what this heinous fret free to just stifles a bit of a laugh. This heinous individual has done.
[00:23:29] Speaker B: And remember, you did use the word mastermind.
[00:23:34] Speaker E: Mastermind?
[00:23:38] Speaker G: Master Van has taken upon himself to recruit some powerful agents to his cause. Powerful agents who would seek to undermine the very essence of the veil.
[00:23:58] Speaker B: They must be very powerful indeed. And dare I say, very good looking as well.
[00:24:03] Speaker E: Very sexy indeed.
[00:24:05] Speaker B: I mean, very terrible, but awful, awful people. Clearly.
[00:24:13] Speaker D: Can I, can I ask, is all their last name Tom?
[00:24:23] Speaker A: For their.
[00:24:33] Speaker G: For their mindless prattle? Sometimes the city watch do have their use within the city, and thankfully, many of these perpetrators have been apprehended and moved to bell tower prison.
We wish to prevent Mustow from recruiting.
[00:24:56] Speaker A: Them.
[00:24:59] Speaker G: Before he can cause any more damage. And we believe the most merciful way is to remove the head of the snake and let the body die.
Mastovan must die.
The specifics of how you will accomplish this I will leave to you. These are matters with which I do not find myself with much experience in. Perhaps, unlike yourselves.
All I care for is the results.
And in doing so, we will consider your debt fulfilled, Mister Cadwallader.
Along with the blessing of the children of Ayah and the other subsidiary faiths that sit within the cathedral, you can be at our side when we step forward and pull Elysia from the depths into a new dawn.
[00:26:11] Speaker F: Thank you, high priestess. I look forward to the day that comes true.
We've had dealings with this character before. He's intelligent and dangerous, but we'll do our best. I can't promise we'll all make it back alive, but we'll do anything we can for our blessed mother and for the city.
[00:26:33] Speaker B: Of course.
[00:26:35] Speaker G: I'm pleased to hear it.
[00:26:39] Speaker A: And with that, you hear the sound of wood sliding on wooden and the peels of candle light that were flickering through these holes in the partition are covered over and you hear a door open on the other side and the high priestess leaves.
[00:27:01] Speaker B: Do we want to go somewhere more private to discuss?
[00:27:05] Speaker A: Have a laugh.
[00:27:07] Speaker B: Just have a good old laugh.
[00:27:12] Speaker C: Dan Dm. Sorry, you're drinking.
Ask a question just as you take a drink in the area of the cathedral, is there any like, imagery of, say, hearts in the cathedral and the stained glass? Atta is looking out for art related imagery around the city.
[00:27:36] Speaker A: Good idea, um, the.
[00:27:44] Speaker C: Me to make a roll.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: No, no, no need.
Like, as you're kind of wandering back out, so I, you know, to give you a dis, an idea of the cathedral itself, it's the cathedral itself, from sort of like front to back is quite long with these incredibly, like high vaulted ceilings, um, like that vault up into an arch.
There are kind of wings that jut off. Uh, so six in total, three on the left, three on the right, and the, you know, the two middle ones jut out a bit further. Um, and you know, there are pews almost all the way down the length of this cathedral. And just kind, often the wings are kind of various kind of quiet areas, like prayer areas, but across the walls in all, you know, not floor to ceiling, but still incredibly tall are these kind of stained glass windows. Whilst some of them have been broken and, you know, not been able to have been repaired over the past few years, you do notice that of the 20, like, there are 20 windows in total, eight of them have been, like, for all extensive purposes, painted over with it, like, allowing just twelve left. And you would all know that those eight that have been kind of decommissioned would have, once upon a time, had depictions of who are now the betrayer, got a khan, xerathane, halogara, etc. Etc.
And as you're looking around, like, a lot of the imagery you're seeing, there's a lot of, like, kind of gold, there's, you know, white fabrics, yellow robes, but everything's kind of very yellow.
You see. You do see on one of the.
That the only heart imagery you see is depicted in the stained glass window of selenif the nurturer.
She is one of Ayah's daughters.
You've stopped a shrine to sell in if it's actually where Dorothea blackmailed you that job once upon a time. But you do know that, you know, heart like imagery is something that Selenif is kind of related to, given that she is given her kind of domain profiles and whatnot, so it's not that unusual. But that's the only kind of vaguely heart shaped imagery you see.
[00:30:31] Speaker F: Whilst we're here, I would like to just start a little bit of a conversation with one of the other priests. Like one of the more senior priests maybe, like, standing in front of one of these stained glass windows, looking up at the tree of the. Of the gods, and just be like, I suppose if one of the gods or their messages came to Elysia and gave instructions to you, you would follow it, wouldn't you? Being devout child of ire.
[00:31:12] Speaker A: The ace of are turns to you, the keeper turns to you, and so, like, nods the nods and sort of like, look, you know, just keep a towers over you so you can see. See his face under the hood that he's wearing with two kind of holes cut out for the horns that jut from his forehead.
Well, of course, it is clear that Arya and her children are looking for us. So when they. When they find us, we will do everything we can in order to help them help us.
[00:31:59] Speaker F: Yes, I would as well. But it's funny, isn't it? Because the high priestess told me that she received a visit from a celestial messenger, and she didn't like the advice that was given, so she ignored it.
I don't know if she's telling the truth. Of course.
[00:32:18] Speaker A: The cleric kind of move, like, pulls back from you slightly in there's a look of disbelief, but then he. He nods and. Well, the agents of a khan can send their temptation, their temptation, send their tempting whispers to all in any it stands that lady lucrative. High priestess lucrative is strong will enough to resist their silvery tongues.
[00:33:03] Speaker F: Well, if you. If you suppose.
[00:33:05] Speaker A: So, the cleric kind of looks to you and then, like, looks at the five of you, and I then, like, glances away for a moment, seemingly thinking about what you're saying, and then, if you would excuse me.
And he bows. He displays the symbol of ire to you and then leaves.
[00:33:36] Speaker F: Okay, let's go find somewhere private for.
[00:33:38] Speaker D: A laugh, or we all peel off. Yes.
Dan? Would there be anywhere in the cathedral that would be. That would hold some sort of scriptures or books and dragons on the gods?
[00:33:52] Speaker A: A hundred percent. Hundred percent.
[00:33:55] Speaker D: Would I be able to go. And. Still thinking back from my knight with the. With the other dragon sent. Yes, the.
The dragon who he. The God who he follows.
[00:34:10] Speaker A: Maladani.
[00:34:11] Speaker D: Maledani. I'm quite taken. Sort of like, what he spoke about her and would like to know more about her, please.
[00:34:20] Speaker A: Sure, sure.
In which case, like, there's. There's, like, a public area where there are a number of. Sort of, like, holy tomes and scriptures, like, you know, fundamentally the teachings of ire that are for, you know, public, if you will. But you can see that there are some archivists kind of wandering around.
As you kind of peel off and have a quick glance around, you notice that they're all pretty much like. The selection is quite limited, and it is very kind of heavily focused on aya.
But, you know, from your. Your kind of upbringing that there were, once upon a time scriptures on all 20, but now twelve of the gods.
But you realize, yeah, there's lots and lots of ire, but, like, there's no Renangar, there's no melodani, there's no feisto, there's no dos. Like, all of their scriptures just seem to not be around.
You know, they won't have been destroyed, but clearly, they're just not being kind of left out. But one of the archivists spots you, and she heads on over this Loraval woman, and.
Hello, child. Is there anything I could help with?
[00:35:42] Speaker D: Oh, that's ever so kind of. You.
See, I have a friend who slightly strayed away from. From Ayah's light, who is more interested in following the teachings of meladani.
I was wondering if I could do some research on her to find out how to sort of sway him back to Ayah's light. I'm hoping to learn more about him from what he is seeking. So that Aino can plan my plan, my teachings better.
[00:36:22] Speaker A: I see.
Give me a sway.
[00:36:28] Speaker B: You can do that?
[00:36:29] Speaker A: I can do that. You could start a risky standard.
[00:36:35] Speaker D: A risky standard.
[00:36:36] Speaker B: Let's look at that. Three days.
[00:36:39] Speaker C: Look at it.
[00:36:44] Speaker A: So you do it on a four, but there's a consequence. You suffer harm, she stabs you and then give you a complication occurs, you have reduced effect, you end up in a desperate position.
It's gonna be a complication of some sort.
So, yeah, the. The archivist like, nods, and then she. She beckons. You wait, she disappears. And you notice her kind of go down into what would be sort. Like the catacombs, like, underneath.
So, I mean, based off that, it would. You would wager that perhaps all of the non iron slash, non approved law has kind of been moved down there.
But she eventually returned. A few minutes later, she returns to you carrying, like, a silver bound booklet.
And, yeah, it's got, like, etched on the front is a very kind of stylized depiction of melodani, her coiled and kind of curling like form in very kind of, like, to look at it, you would know from a religious perspective, like, the curves invoke this kind of sensuality, this. This kind of hedonism that would make, you know, some of the other religious types kind of hot under the collar slightly, but anything that you can use to bring someone to the light is good with me. She says she hands it over to you. Please make sure to return this.
We want to make sure that only the right people have the right messaging.
[00:38:52] Speaker D: Of course.
[00:38:53] Speaker A: Thank you.
And over the space of however long, I will one, I will ponderous. What? That clock's gonna be cool. So where are you all heading to? To have a natter?
[00:39:13] Speaker B: Haven't been to the spectre in the while, have we?
Go to the spectre?
[00:39:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:20] Speaker B: Anyone's up for that?
[00:39:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay. So, yeah, you. Well, to be fair, uh, you've probably can't. Well, you can't head to the goal pot because it's currently been shut down due to a recent ghost attack.
How's. How's Atta looking, by the way? How's Atta holding herself with everyone? How's Cavern feeling, by the way?
[00:39:46] Speaker C: How is this. How is this traumatized bunch. Not yet with official trauma, but when Algie said that we were heading to see Lukraji. Yes.
And heading to the church, atto kind of was holding her tail and looking a bit quite uncomfortable and just looking a lot thinner.
A thinner kind of gorner. Not. Not sleeping, not because she's excited and working on a project, but not sleeping because she now has complicated thoughts and feelings about everything that's going on.
[00:40:30] Speaker A: Sure, sure. Well, Atta, you are kind of ushered, like the others as they kind of place hands on your shoulder to comfort you as you head through the streets.
You make your way back to Duskland. And as you turn left onto the street under the arch and you can see the very kind of homely wooden sign hanging over the front door.
Juicy gives you a wave as you. As you enter and, like the spectre, looks surprisingly quiet. I. Today it's. It's morning, so it's kind of to be expected there, Pete. A lot of people at work.
But heading down into the secret basement through the bookshelf, you hear a loud, like, pained grunt as you reach the bottom of the stairs.
And from sort like behind the bar, Eric stands up, holding his back, having. And you can see that there's a large barrel that clearly he's just been moving around and he's got his back to you. And he. Oh, bloody.
And he sort of like, walks backwards to the bar and tries to bend backwards over it and then spots you in the corner of his eye and then he bloody.
Hello.
I haven't seen you. Not in ages.
[00:42:11] Speaker D: Eric, I've always told you, if you need that massage, you just come to me. It's all right.
[00:42:16] Speaker A: The thing that worries me, Kevin, is how insistent you are on giving me the massage.
[00:42:25] Speaker D: I only aim to please.
[00:42:27] Speaker A: Yeah, that's my. That's my other worry. Usual.
Usual drinks for you all?
[00:42:35] Speaker D: Yes, please.
[00:42:36] Speaker A: Very good.
God's sake. Freedom. You look like.
[00:42:44] Speaker E: Freedom.
[00:42:45] Speaker A: Yes, yes, that's what I was gonna say. What happened to Frida? Everyone else, he says, look into the four of you.
[00:42:56] Speaker D: Well, that is obviously something Frieda is very much keeping to herself.
[00:43:03] Speaker A: Oh, in that case, you know, I won't ask because you could probably fold me in our Frida anyway. I'll get those drinks for you. You grab your seats. I've kept it free for you, he says, gesturing at the empty booth in the empty speakeasy.
[00:43:21] Speaker F: Appreciate it as always, Samuel.
Hey, what's your name?
[00:43:25] Speaker A: Eric.
[00:43:25] Speaker F: Eric.
Appreciate it as always, Eric.
[00:43:34] Speaker A: He nods. And yeah, he goes about getting your kind of drinks ready, so we will kind of jump straight into sort of the gather information slash.
Yeah. What are your thoughts on the mission?
As the. The words that Lucaji said ringing your ears? Must. Ovon must die.
[00:44:00] Speaker E: I mean, the master van mastermind. What?
[00:44:05] Speaker D: Yeah. Don't know what's more surprising.
[00:44:07] Speaker E: Must have smoking.
[00:44:11] Speaker B: I know.
[00:44:12] Speaker E: Well, they need to check their instants.
[00:44:15] Speaker F: Even a broken pocket watch is right twice a day.
And a blunt instrument like musto can be considered dangerous if he's tapped into the.
Into something. Very interesting indeed.
I heard that he's making inroads in to bell tower prison.
Our friends in the church have obviously spent some expense gathering up Sangrevar, putting them there.
Muster's efforts, whatever his intention, are obviously threatening their goals.
Thus painted a target on his back.
[00:45:04] Speaker A: Algorithm. You do remember when you spoke to mustow to borrow the. Like the divining orb that used in the castle antler job?
That some of his complaints were that songbird was kind of coming down hard on him because he wasn't making as many inroads as he wanted to in the belt out job. But more recently, you've heard that through the grapevine, that he has seemingly concocted a plan. Whether or not it was him that concocted the plan is another question entirely. But he has a plan.
[00:45:43] Speaker B: I feel like whatever we do here, should we not speak to songbird first?
[00:45:53] Speaker F: I think she's overdue for a little chat.
[00:45:57] Speaker B: I feel as if, if we simply go behind her back, that might not go down well.
[00:46:06] Speaker F: Yes, I would never orchestrate anything behind her back.
[00:46:13] Speaker A: As you say that.
Eric heads over to the. To your table with your drinks. On a tray in one hand, and under his other arm, he's carrying what appears to be today's copy of the treatise.
And as he plunks the trays down, he sort of, like, gives you a nod and, like, looking at you very specifically.
Algernon, given that, you know, he knows you to be the most up to date with current affairs.
Tell you what, this city is going to the hells in a handbasket. Have you. Have you seen the front page?
[00:46:59] Speaker F: I typically skip to the crossword nowadays.
Well, let's have a look.
[00:47:06] Speaker A: He slams the newspaper down on the table in front of you. Remember, there was all that malarkey about what? Those, um. Like, you know, those those guards that were trying to round me up. And apparently there were other ace. Ace of r that were getting rounded up and taking the bell to heart. Well, turns out that perhaps, maybe there are a bit of, you know, maybe some of them are wrong un's because they found the ringleader.
And on the front page of the treatise is a sketch of a blonde Loravar woman with the word wanted across the front.
Looks like someone's found out who's pulling all the strings.
Jabs at the newspaper.
[00:48:00] Speaker F: You don't believe everything you read in the press, do you, Eric?
[00:48:03] Speaker A: Well, I don't know. I mean, the treaty's usually all right, but, I mean, looking through that, you know, it sounds like. But she's been seen. She was there at the keep, you know, when that goal burned down. And, you know, there's. There's reports that she was near bell tower when that got attacked, as well. It seems like she's got her fingers and a lot of boys. Alga none. And, uh. Yeah, I don't know. Like, I don't know who this song. Like, if you've got to give yourself a nickname like Songbird, then maybe you are up to no good.
Yeah, it looks like. Looks like they did a raid on wherever she was. And, yeah, they're now looking for her. So, yeah, while you're keeping yourselves busy, if you happen to see her, just, you know, just be my in mind that the guard are probably right behind her.
[00:48:55] Speaker F: Thank you, Eric, for that useful delivery of the news.
You are warm here.
[00:49:03] Speaker A: Yeah. And he heads back to.
Heads back to the bar as the five of you look at this newspaper and the realization that songbird has been unmasked.
[00:49:20] Speaker D: I guess if we do want to talk to Songbird, where is she gonna be?
[00:49:25] Speaker E: Hmm.
[00:49:26] Speaker B: We may have to get creative in how we find her.
Maybe we should speak to Mustow first, find out where songbird is. Go and talk to songbird about whether or not we should kill Mustow.
What do you think?
[00:49:41] Speaker E: You know, I know I'm not exactly the biggest fan of musto, but I I can't help but feel a little bit of, like.
I don't know. He's sort of grown on me in a way, but, like a veruca, you know?
[00:49:59] Speaker B: Are you just. Are you saying that you feel some basic compassion towards him?
[00:50:03] Speaker E: Frieda, I don't know if we'd go that f. But I I imagine that, like, murdering him in blood isn't gonna be nearly as fun as. Like. As I'd like it to be, you know?
[00:50:17] Speaker B: Not nearly as fun as watching Algernon psychologically torture him.
[00:50:21] Speaker E: Exactly. I'm gonna miss that.
Also, who else are we gonna bully?
[00:50:27] Speaker B: And what would killing mustow mean for us? And for a potential way into bell tower?
[00:50:36] Speaker C: I.
[00:50:39] Speaker B: I just think maybe killing him is not the way we need to satisfy the church. While potentially, I don't know, saving him.
I can't believe I'm saying this.
[00:50:51] Speaker F: I know there was a. There was a time when I would have killed him right here and there when he was spat on my hand. But he's proven a useful idiot to me.
And I also have a strange compassion for the mandev.
[00:51:09] Speaker B: He is quite small and pathetic, isn't he?
[00:51:12] Speaker E: And just so sweaty and snotty and just.
That underbite is just, oh, I mean.
[00:51:21] Speaker D: Where does all that grease come from?
[00:51:22] Speaker B: Where does it. And where does it all go as well? It would almost be too sad to just put him down like a dog, wouldn't it?
[00:51:30] Speaker D: Easy, but sad.
[00:51:33] Speaker F: But.
[00:51:33] Speaker A: Sadeena.
[00:51:35] Speaker C: Hi, Kevin. Does the church make a habit of offing people?
This seems extreme.
[00:51:48] Speaker A: Well, Kevin, I'll interject and say that's the bit that strikes you the most, is that this does seem like a very bold, brash, move on lucrative part. Like, clearly, for. Especially. Even for her to just outright say, I need you to. I need this man dead.
Like, that's like, you almost be a bit surprised hearing that coming out the mouth of Zarma tok of the shield bearers. So to hear it coming out of the headpiece of the faith.
Yeah.
[00:52:32] Speaker C: What. What if. What if Musto knows something that he's not supposed to know?
Or.
Yeah, I.
I would be more inclined to try and figure out what must might have done or know, rather than him just being a pest.
[00:53:05] Speaker A: What? We'll need to start some. To gather some information.
So where are you. Where are the five of you heading first? Because you're going to need to gather some information one way or the other, I guess.
Yeah, I guess the question is, are you going to do the job or not?
[00:53:27] Speaker B: I think we need to make it look like we did the job.
That's my opinion. I think we need to either put it, tell him to go into hiding and, like, say, oh, the body was destroyed, and, like, present an item of his to the karaji, or we need to dress up a hapless some. You know, this is very ethically dubious. Dress up some other goblin in his clothes and have them be dredged up from the bottom of the river. Or, I know any old goblin, precious musto, or.
Well, we actually have to kill him. And I think that's a good idea.
That's just me.
[00:54:14] Speaker E: Yeah. I feel like if we're going to kill him, we've got to kill him on our own turn.
[00:54:20] Speaker A: Uh, well, um, I think we should talk to Songbird.
[00:54:24] Speaker B: I think that should be part of our gather information.
[00:54:27] Speaker A: Okay, so perhaps the first 1st question is where is songbird track?
[00:54:31] Speaker B: Yeah, where is songbird track her down.
[00:54:33] Speaker A: Okay. Who's going to participate in that information gathering?
[00:54:38] Speaker B: I reckon that's got JC's name all over it.
Checking down some birds. You're good at finding things, aren't you?
[00:54:46] Speaker C: I have a pippin hunt.
[00:54:48] Speaker F: Only one, though I don't think anyone else does. So that might be worth.
[00:54:52] Speaker B: I think that might be the only hunt in the whole group.
[00:54:55] Speaker C: I think I've got the most hunt of the entire group.
[00:55:00] Speaker E: We've all established that Frida has a as much insight as a rock.
[00:55:08] Speaker A: Okay, we'll see. What. Roll me out. A in downtime, I would normally. A lot of the time I would say controlled. But given that you're looking for someone whose face is net like she is now Alicia's most wanted. She's literally on the front page of the treaties. So I'm gonna start this as a risky standard. If you're looking for the songbird.
[00:55:33] Speaker C: Would anybody like to help me to give me another number?
[00:55:38] Speaker A: I can help you.
[00:55:40] Speaker B: How much stress is it to help again?
[00:55:42] Speaker A: One.
[00:55:43] Speaker D: One. I'll come along with you and I'll give you a little help.
[00:55:47] Speaker A: Okay, so one extra upgrade so you can take a.
[00:55:54] Speaker C: Sorry, you said risky standard starting out.
[00:55:56] Speaker A: Risky standard start. So yeah, you. If you want, for free, you can switch it to a desperate. Great.
Either way you can spend an upgrade.
[00:56:10] Speaker C: I haven't really got the stress right now to be spending it pre score, so I think I'll just. I'll add an extra die. Thank you for much, Kevin.
[00:56:19] Speaker E: For both.
[00:56:21] Speaker A: Did you want to do risky standard or desperate? Great.
[00:56:25] Speaker C: I'm going to do risky standard and have an extra die because rolling one die is.
Yeah, rolling one die is scary.
[00:56:33] Speaker A: Well, no. So if you switch to desperate greater, you still get the extra dice. You can just trade the position for effect.
[00:56:40] Speaker B: It's just. Yeah, it's just a worst impact if you fail.
[00:56:44] Speaker C: Oh, if I get desperate. If. But a desperate. Why would you say no to a desperate role? You get xp. Of course I'm gonna.
Uh oh, look, I'm gunning for trauma. Maybe I shouldn't.
[00:56:58] Speaker D: Oh no.
[00:57:01] Speaker E: What was that about gunning for trauma?
[00:57:04] Speaker A: Okay, it's the worst outcome.
So attaevd you did a desperate hunt.
The serious complication is that a new four clock appears entitled EIC investigation.
[00:57:31] Speaker B: Not a fan of that.
[00:57:33] Speaker A: And resist you can, because right now it's going to go straight up to three. Yeah. If you want to resist, you can do. That's going to drop it down to two segments and off the back of a hunt, that will be an insight roll. Correct. So you get three dice. Three dice resist.
[00:57:54] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Three d. Oh, because I've got three of the skills in insight. Right.
Do I haven't rolled a resist in a hot sack. Do I just click on insight?
[00:58:04] Speaker A: Click on the word insight. That's it. Right.
[00:58:07] Speaker C: Okay, cool. And then just straight up roll.
[00:58:10] Speaker A: Okay, that's it.
[00:58:13] Speaker C: Come on, Rizett. Oh, God. Oh, right.
[00:58:15] Speaker A: So four. Uh, so you roll the four. So you suffer two stress taking up to seven. Uh, and, um, so you're fundamentally at is going around with a drawing of magpie, of songbird being like, have you seen this lady?
[00:58:35] Speaker B: The newspaper with the picture and the word wanted. Have you seen this lady?
[00:58:40] Speaker A: Yes, I'm really looking to find this lady.
And who was it who helped Katherine?
[00:58:47] Speaker D: Yeah, so I sort of see the. See her do this, and I sort of kind of go like, no, let's. Let's rethink this. Just sort of take her away.
[00:58:55] Speaker A: Kaverin, it's arguably it you that notices that as you're kind of crawling through the streets of, like, the streets around where you've met songbird in the past. So in Saints Hollow, there are a number of, like, shady individuals with, you know, that they all seem to have, like, long coats with high collars that can, you know, mask some of their. Their face.
And you see them sort of like, you. You see the same individual one too many times, but, like, in a position where they might be trying to hide from your notice. And you realize that, like, this person doesn't move like the other residents of Saint Hollow. There's not that kind of life born desperation that some of the other people in this slum have.
And you just kind of get this feeling that, yeah, this person, whoever's. Whoever is tailing you, means business.
Yeah, you managed to shake.
Shake your pursuant, but yet it would seem that this EIC agent is now looking into you and your questionings.
And unfortunately, like in Saints Hollow, the sort of, like the underground kind of basement area where you met songbird before, like, that place is crawling with city watch and, yeah, a couple of other, like, long, high collar individuals. It seems like that whole place has been raided and cleared out, frozen purposes. Songbird is lost to the winds.
[01:00:51] Speaker B: No, come on.
That's a shame.
[01:01:00] Speaker A: Who. What's the next question?
[01:01:01] Speaker D: We're asking if we go talk to Mustowe. Yeah, if we're planning to sort of pretend he's there, kill him.
[01:01:15] Speaker B: Should we mention why we're.
What's going on? How much should we actually tell him?
[01:01:21] Speaker D: I mean, would it be a good idea if we find out what he's doing? If we can try and find out. Try and find out some information on why he's so wanted?
[01:01:30] Speaker B: Can I do a bit more of my prowling then that I did earlier in the campaign where I hang out on the roof just outside his window and hear him loudly talking about all his plan?
[01:01:41] Speaker A: Well, I mean, you. I mean, he can do, if you want to earwig on him. But you do know like where he is, I guess.
[01:01:50] Speaker B: Well, yeah, but I want to do the prowl in order to find out what the question is, what's he up to?
[01:01:55] Speaker A: Okay, in which case, roll me a yeah. Romeo pro. Okay, we'll set this as a.
I'll also set this as a risky standard.
[01:02:07] Speaker B: Yeah, okay, I'll accept the risky standard. That's fine.
[01:02:13] Speaker C: Six.
[01:02:14] Speaker A: Six. So you do it. You head to his, like, high bell in dusklum. Um, so it's a, you know, it's a rooftop that you've frequented a couple of times. Magpie.
Um, and when you arrive, you notice that the building, like the safe house, is a bit of a flurry of activity.
But listening in, you hear that the cobbles inside.
Don't know where he is.
Um, you hear, well, yeah, there's like frantic panicking of, uh. What, what do you mean you don't know where the boss is? It's like, well, we don't. Like, ever since songbirds Scarborough to the winds, musto's done a runner.
[01:03:10] Speaker B: No.
[01:03:15] Speaker A: But like they are about like you. You hear them sort of bickering and trying to. They're trying to figure out where. Where he's gone.
And you do over here. Well, maybe he's gone to some of the other safe houses. I don't know. I mean. Well, he's not gonna have gone to old Town, cuz that drea ghoul, that drag all woman's just kicked us out of. Like she's managed to oust the oust us from the streets, mate. Like must I took his eye off the. Off the plan. Like it took his eye off the ball, focusing on this prison thing and. And now we've lost all the ground that we had.
So he's not gonna be an old town, he's not gonna be in celestry because that place is crawling after that ill nature place got hit.
He's not here. He's not gonna be in St. Hollow because, like, songbirds just been rumbled. I mean, that only leaves a very few places he could have gone to.
And then they think about it, and maybe he's gone to dustry or rook Ridge. So you go to dustry, you go to rook Ridge, you hear, like, words of affirmation, and then you hear the cobble swallow rushing around again inside. Yeah, it seems like Mustow, having heard the news about songbird, has done a runner on.
[01:04:40] Speaker B: So dustrial Rookridge are most likely. Okay, musto, how are we supposed to fake kill you if you've disappeared?
[01:04:54] Speaker E: Rookridge is where Frieda grew up.
Between. Yeah. Would it be worth if Frida went and, you know, sort of did some consorting with former associates to see if she can pinpoint down where he might be, if he is in Rookridge.
[01:05:21] Speaker A: Yeah, that could be worth it. Does anyone want to go with Frieda or you? Are you a loan agent?
[01:05:32] Speaker B: I feel like somebody probably go.
[01:05:35] Speaker E: I mean, up to you. Frieda's quite happy being a lone agent in this.
[01:05:40] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, so, Freda, as you head over into. So you're heading over to Rookridge. Presumably someone else is going to be heading up to Dustry Hill.
Who wants to take on that job?
[01:05:55] Speaker D: I'll take on that job. I'll go up to Dustry Hill.
[01:05:57] Speaker A: Okay, and how are you gonna go about trying to find Mustow in Dustry?
[01:06:05] Speaker D: I think I'm gonna have.
So the keepers, who I spent some time with, who work industry hill.
[01:06:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:06:16] Speaker D: I think I'm gonna have a chance chat with them and see if they've heard anything or overheard, like, anyone talking or has seen anything.
[01:06:27] Speaker A: So is that a consort as well?
[01:06:29] Speaker D: Yeah, that would be a consort for me.
[01:06:31] Speaker A: Okay. In which case, if I could have the two of you both roll me a consort.
Risky standard to begin with for the both of you.
Devil's bargains for both of you.
Regardless of what happens, the EIC hounds you.
The EIC's investigations continue apace.
[01:07:10] Speaker E: But if I accept, it does mean I get an extra two dice.
[01:07:15] Speaker D: I'm gonna. I'm gonna stay with mine. I'm gonna stay with my two dice.
[01:07:18] Speaker A: Okay.
[01:07:21] Speaker E: So, yeah, soddit. Why not? I'll take it.
[01:07:26] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
So are you using your special armor to your special effects? Hell yeah. Okay, so you're standing at starting at risky standard. You can feel free to switch that to a desperate grater.
[01:07:41] Speaker E: Let's do desperate grater. Why not?
[01:07:45] Speaker A: Okay, so Frieda is doing a desperate consort. Is cavern going desperate or staying risky?
[01:07:52] Speaker D: He's staying risky.
[01:07:53] Speaker A: Okay, in which case, so, Frida, you are gonna get with plus two.
So you're gonna get a four dice desperate grater, and caverns gonna get a two dice risky standard. And regardless, the EIC gonna continue their investigations.
Carry on. Roll them, bones.
No, things go badly for cavern, and Frieda rolls a six.
Okay, so, Frida, describe to me who. Describe to me the person that you talk to who gives you the information on Mustang's location.
[01:08:54] Speaker E: Do I get to name them as well?
[01:08:58] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah.
[01:09:00] Speaker E: All right, I am gonna go down to the most divest, most disgusting bar that I know in Rookridge, because I know that's where all the wrong uns we're talking. Like, this bar still, like, puts sawdust down on the floor, and they probably change it once a week so it's sticky and brown with. With booze and blood that's been spilt. And I'm gonna go around and just.
[01:09:36] Speaker A: Gonna quickly interrupt you. What we call in this tavern the.
[01:09:43] Speaker B: Could it be like, the smashed grapes, but. But it's locally known as the smashed face. Something like that.
Oh.
[01:09:52] Speaker E: Or, like, I think it's just probably. Yeah. Called, like. Do you know what? I don't even think they're not smart enough for that kind of wordplay. It's probably just called the black eye.
[01:10:04] Speaker A: Black eye.
[01:10:06] Speaker E: It's just the black eye, a famous.
[01:10:09] Speaker A: Mythical beast of legendhe.
[01:10:11] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:10:12] Speaker A: Okay, so the black eye.
[01:10:14] Speaker E: Yeah. So Frida goes to the black eye, and she starts raving about how this sniveling little sweaty goblin man owes her bloody money, and if he don't pay up, she's gonna smash his face in.
And she goes to Bertha.
Big Bertha. Yeah, big Bertha. The better than Jeff.
Yeah, big Bertha, the bar wench, who is just this, like, meat locker of a woman with probably about three teeth and a head, and they're not hers. More scars. More scars than Frieda. Just really rough and. Yeah, and Frieda just. I'd probably pay a good gold coin to anyone that could give me some information about sniveling little weasel.
[01:11:16] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna. I'm gonna embellish slightly on Bertha, like, because the nickname that she's got in the black eye is jugs, and not for the reason that a lot of people assume. It's the fact that she's built like a juggernaut.
So.
So, yeah, Bertha, like, looks to you, and she's, like, got her arms crossed, and, like, she's got this, like, level brow frown as she. She just kind of, like, nods as she's. As you have another. Have another drink.
And she says, you know what?
I think I do know someone like that.
And, like, seeing a kindred spirit in this wolfgang woman sat across the. The bar from her. She. She looks around, and now, don't tell anyone that I told you.
And she, like scribble, gets a bit of paper, a little bit parchment, and then writes an address of one of the. Of what? You know what. A nearby street.
There's been a couple of new faces that's been coming in around here, and I don't much like them. I think they're part of them cobbles lot. And, well, one of our boys got a bit of a altercation with them and saw them running back with their tails between their legs to this. This gaff. So I reckon you go knocking, you'll find your little weasel. You smoke a out for me. All right, love?
[01:13:11] Speaker E: Oh, Bertha, you're my bloody euro. Let me put one behind the bar for you.
[01:13:18] Speaker A: Bertha nods in approval.
Meanwhile, industry hill you. So, Catherine, you're speaking to your. Your cuddle puddle group, and they inform you.
So what. What was your kind of line of questioning?
[01:13:46] Speaker D: Just if they've seen a greasy little goblin around, like a particular very greasy little goblin?
[01:13:57] Speaker A: You know what?
I think I know who you mean. Says one of the keepers.
There's. Yeah, there's. There's been this.
He's a bit of a slop, really, but I've noticed this creepy fella, you say, like, greasy hair and greasy, greasy looking clothes, right?
[01:14:20] Speaker D: Yeah, tiny mouth, little teeth.
Very creepy.
[01:14:25] Speaker A: I don't know about the tiny mouth, tiny teeth, but now, there's certainly been someone creeping around recently that's been, frankly, given us the heebie jeebies.
But it sounds like. It sounds like your fella, Catherine.
Okay, thank you.
And, yeah, the keeper till, like, the up, one of the other keepers pipes in, and, like, we've seen them at night, which is fortunate because it's, like, early evening, um, chronologically, just before Frieda's, uh, popped into the black eyed. Um, yeah, it's usually during the nighttime, like, lurks around on, like, street corners and the, like. Um, but if you wait on this corner, I'm sure you'll see him.
[01:15:14] Speaker G: Thank you.
[01:15:15] Speaker A: And if you can, I will, you know, sort them out. We'd be. We'd appreciate it. It. We really would.
So, Frieda, as you are you summoning the rest of the group before heading to this address? Are you just going straight there.
Where is the rest of the gang? I just say for Magpie, atta and Alkanon, where are they? Whilst Catherine and Frieda in their respective parts of the city? Like, are you nearby or are you back home? Like, back in Galboda, back at the spectre?
[01:15:49] Speaker B: It kind of all depends on what the timeline of all this has been. Have we all been doing this simultaneously? In which case it's.
[01:15:55] Speaker A: I. Well, I suspect that you would. Well, you certainly would have done your bit to find out. He's on the run. And then.
[01:16:01] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:16:04] Speaker A: Then. Gone off.
So Cavern's gone to dusty Hill.
Frieda's gone to Brookridge. Waterside is between the two locations.
[01:16:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:16:18] Speaker A: So perhaps being on one of your.
[01:16:20] Speaker B: Place for us to. Yeah, a place for us to hang out might be. Yeah, might be good.
[01:16:24] Speaker A: So, I mean, the bridges over the river are, like, at night. Like, it's getting to, like, early, even late evening, kind of coming on to nighttime. So the streets are getting a bit quieter.
Yeah. Are freedom and Cavern arrive? Either of you fetching others or you following up on your leads?
[01:16:47] Speaker D: I think I'm gonna follow up on the lead. I'm gonna wait around, but sort of be hidden on that corner.
Could I have the. The earring and sort of report that back to someone?
[01:17:02] Speaker A: Sure.
[01:17:02] Speaker D: So if Algernon's wearing the earring, I can report that back to him.
[01:17:05] Speaker A: Okay, so, Algernon, you hear that cavern's found a lead for mustow. Frida, are you beelining straight to this address or you getting back up?
[01:17:18] Speaker E: Yeah, I feel like the sensible thing would be to go back and get people, but we've established that Frieda is definitely not sensible. So, yeah, she's going.
[01:17:27] Speaker G: Okay.
[01:17:29] Speaker A: In which case, Frieda, you head to the address that you were given by Bertha Cavern. You heads to the street corner address that the keepers have given you.
And the other three of you wait patiently for news.
The bridge over the bridge over the river in Waterside.
And the three of you can hear. You can see the workers returning from work after very long days of toiling.
No one's really kind of paying you much mind. Waterside is quite a gentle, calmer place by comparison, within the city.
And Frieda, you approach a. You approach the house in question, and you notice that sat on a crate opposite the door. Like, these are very narrow kind of streets. And sat on a crate opposite the door is what can only, you know, immediately be described as a cobble.
This larava man, who's currently, like, pick. Picking something out from his teeth with a shiva, like a dagger of a very small dagger.
And then, like, as he sees you coming, he jumps. And, like, Nick's the tip of his tongue with. With the knife. And he looks to you and just. Somebody tries to, like, play awful call. Like, lean. Like, lean against the wall with an authoritative stance.
Um, cavern you.
As you're waiting on the corner, you can see the streets beginning to slowly empty. And soon, like, rather soon, you find yourself alone on this street.
And you kinda like. As you're looking backwards and forwards, suddenly you get this feeling creeping up your spine that you're being watched.
Frieda, the cob, the cobble looks to you. And if you've. If you've not got any business, then why don't you just carry on, love? He says, frieda, please roll me a one dice in engagement role.
[01:20:05] Speaker B: Oh, okay.
[01:20:08] Speaker E: Oh, okay.
[01:20:20] Speaker D: Barge in and Musto's dead.
[01:20:22] Speaker A: Okay, okay. A six.
[01:20:26] Speaker E: A six.
[01:20:28] Speaker A: So as this cobble eyedropping down, asks you, tells you to keep on walking, the front door of this house opens.
And out waddles a stocky, sweaty little goblin who's. Who says, mid stride. Keep it down. We're trying to keep a low.
And he turns to look at you, Frieda, like, mid sentence freezes. And.
Hello. He says, all right, this is quite awkward.
You found Mustow in a somewhat controlled position.
Cavern. However, you hear the sound of something scraping along stonework behind you.
And you turn to see a lanky, slinking figure lope down the alleyway towards you.
The purple light raining down from above, reflecting off what appears to be a wickedly sharp sickle, which is scraping across the brickwork.
And as this figure approaches you a few more steps, and then stops and lifts their head, showing long, sweaty, greasy looking hair that falls down to just below his collarbones. His face obscured by what looks like by a large top hat that is significantly finer in quality than the rest of his outfit.
And there's a part of your mind that immediately recognizes his top hat as a trophy.
And this man slowly lifts his head up slightly. And whilst you can't see his eyes for a moment, you know he's regarding you as he says.
[01:22:40] Speaker G: Hello, little bird.
[01:22:46] Speaker A: How kind of you to join me. Do you like songs?
Do you like the Sound of Music?
The orchestra is looking for someone just like you. And as he lifts his head up fully, he launches himself at you, sickle drawn.
I think we'll take a break.
[01:23:20] Speaker B: No, no.
[01:23:26] Speaker E: You found a leaf. Is Jack the Ripper.
[01:23:29] Speaker A: Great.
