[00:00:51] Speaker B: Rain.
[00:02:34] Speaker A: Foreign.
[00:02:58] Speaker B: Hello, world. And welcome to Explorers of Elsewhere Live.
I'm hoping that I'm in everyone's ear holes and eye holes, along with these five beautiful creatures that we have here arrayed with me. There's someone. Someone let me know if we're coming through while I introduce.
So. Yes. Hi, welcome. For. For those of you who are watching. Hello.
[00:03:27] Speaker A: Hello. Hello.
[00:03:30] Speaker B: And I would love to introduce myself. DM Dan. And directly below me we have Livy.
[00:03:36] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:03:37] Speaker B: And directly beneath her we have Theo.
[00:03:40] Speaker C: Hello.
[00:03:41] Speaker B: And across the way from me, we have Nate.
[00:03:45] Speaker A: Hello.
[00:03:48] Speaker B: And below Nate, we have Georgia.
[00:03:50] Speaker D: Hello.
[00:03:52] Speaker B: And right down there in the corner, snow snuffling on some scraps, is Tim.
Hello.
Hello. Hello. Hello.
Welcome. Hello. Hi.
This is our third episode of our third campaign, Explorers of Elsewhere, the Titan Isles.
We are once again returning to play some dagger heart for you.
Um, we have. Well, with three, we've completed two episodes and in that time our five adventurers here have begun to become acquainted with the. The streets of Dorlashal, our happy little place of paradise over on a. On the side of the peak of a mountain poking out the sea, facing the. The titular Titan Isles. Across the way. Across the. Across the sea.
And you've. You've met some people, you've met some pirates.
And now you've met one particular pirate who seems quite poorly.
[00:05:05] Speaker C: Yeah, he's not having a good day.
[00:05:08] Speaker B: He's not having a very good day at all. Not at all.
So with that in mind, who wants to. Because we left it on a bit of a cliffhanger last week, who wants to jump straight in to see what we can do for poor, poor mad Carrion?
[00:05:27] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:05:27] Speaker C: Let's go.
[00:05:29] Speaker B: Cool. Let's go for it.
[00:05:46] Speaker F: Hello, I'm Nate and I'll be playing Griffin, a Sanguvar bard.
[00:05:52] Speaker C: Hi, I'm Livy and I'm playing Abe, the Guardian Keeper.
[00:05:58] Speaker A: Hello, my name is Theo and I'll be playing Cooper, the dragon scent rogue.
[00:06:04] Speaker D: Hi, my name is Georgia and I'll be playing Cassandre, an ace of our sorcerer.
[00:06:10] Speaker E: Hi, I'm Tim and I'm playing Gardi, the Johnny Druid.
[00:06:16] Speaker B: And my name is DM Dan, the games master. In this adventure, Many people wiser than that is the wrong intro.
Professionalism right here.
Primal is arguably the least well understood magic source in the lands of Elsewhere. By comparison to divine and arcane, practitioners of Primal magics were often seen as a bit odd, old fashioned, or too trusting in archaic or esoteric ideology.
When the events of the Eschaton came Together in the reality warping crescendo. No one would have anticipated that the emergence of deities brimming with primal energies of Elsweyr herself would prove to be the deciding factor in tipping the scales in Aya's favor.
In fact, to many the emergence of primal spell casting was seen as a brand new development in the annals of history.
Or rather than something that has always been due to the scarcity of well considered knowledge of the primal, its effects on the world can be that much more breathtaking. For better or worse, what is primal? What primal mana is truly capable of when wielded by gods, let alone mortals.
On a rooftop above the markets of Dorlishal, our adventurers are witnessing firsthand what even a residual amount of primal magic can do.
And so we find the five of you.
Spread between a rooftop, a rooftop of a building that borders on the edge of the markets, like the marketplace area of Dolashar, known as the stalls.
And in the, the market itself.
We find. So Cooper and Cassandra, you are currently on ground level amongst the market stalls, surrounded by sort of like the panicked cries and exclamations of the, like the, the, the Dwellers that the other citizens in the. In the marketplace, um, you can here sort of like shop, like store vendors kind of calling out to one another in confusion.
The Keeper, the young Keeper lady you've been introduced to is Clear Waters. She's stood behind you looking somewhat confused, but all attention is focused on the nearby roof where astride a beautiful white furred llama of impressive size with a crystalline horn jutting from its forehead, sits Abe, our Guardian. Keeper. Our Keeper, Guardian and Griffin are Sangrevar Bard.
Directly opposite you now surrounded by this swarm of what looked to be like living plants with kind of writhing vines and like formed stems for limbs is the pirate you presumed was once mad. Carrion now horrendously transformed and mutated. His skin having turned to a hard nobbled bark like substance.
These root like branch like vines bursting from his. His chest, his arms, his wrist, his head completely twisted back at a angle that does not support the structure of a spine.
His facial hair having turned into almost like a green vine like ivy that's emerging from his face.
And he, mad Carrion has just released this noise.
But it's shrill and hurts the mind.
And with all that in mind, as Carrie Anne release, well, the creature that once was Carrion releases this fearsome scream.
I'm going to, I'm going to immediately spend one of my fear to activate a sort of. To activate and let me Bring out the combat tracker.
Combat tracker.
And of the the flower like buds that have fallen off of Carian.
A number of them begin careening off the rooftop into the streets below.
And Cooper and Cassandra. You hear like screams of panic coming from nearby. So the alleyway to sort of like your right as these.
Well unbeknownst new as these plants pour into the streets below to the surprise of the populace.
Then I will pass to the players. Who wants to go first? Who wants to step in?
[00:13:06] Speaker E: How many people can I do a combo attack with?
Is it one or can it be two if they're sitting on me?
[00:13:16] Speaker C: What are the rules around dual mounts?
[00:13:21] Speaker B: So what are you on a mount team?
[00:13:24] Speaker C: Could we do a triple tag team?
[00:13:26] Speaker D: The stack.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: I. You know what if.
[00:13:35] Speaker E: I mean if not, I'm just gonna trample these fools. So it's all good either way.
[00:13:39] Speaker F: I mean I can. I can do something that might make the decision a little bit easier. If you want to do a tag team with Abe.
Because I spoke with Dan about this because I wasn't quite sure how I could implement it.
So upon seeing this, Griffin is just gonna hop off and kind of smack you on the ass, daddy. And go like, you both got this. You both got this. And he sort of looks over down at Cooper and Cassandra as well and kind of like we've got this like that. And I'm gonna perform rally. So apparently once per session I can describe how I'm rallying the party and everyone gets one D6 that they can use for whatever they want so they can use it. Let's see if I can find that in my character sheet in two seconds.
[00:14:29] Speaker B: I believe it's for like attacks damage.
[00:14:32] Speaker F: Yeah, there we go.
[00:14:34] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:14:34] Speaker F: So you've got an extra D6 dice that you can use for your attack, your damage, so forth.
[00:14:40] Speaker E: Incredible.
[00:14:43] Speaker C: Damage. Tasty.
[00:14:48] Speaker B: Well, okay, so if everyone. Everyone's now supercharged by Griffin. Griffin, do you want to take a turn to do something else while you're rallying?
[00:14:57] Speaker F: Oh yeah, let's do something.
[00:14:59] Speaker C: Let's go.
[00:15:00] Speaker F: While, while I'm rallying as well, I'm going to play an epic song on my.
On my concertina. And that makes all close range targets temporarily vulnerable.
[00:15:14] Speaker B: Okay. What? What? At what range?
[00:15:16] Speaker F: Sorry, it is close. Close range close.
[00:15:22] Speaker B: Which is basically all of the like the sproutlings and carrion. So basically everyone on this rooftop. Yes, yes.
[00:15:30] Speaker F: The song he's going to play is an epic song about let's say, let's say about five adventurers that five explorers that. That Took down a mage that had betrayed them and took them down in a. In a town somewhere far away.
[00:15:50] Speaker B: Okay. Amazing. Amazing.
Okay, so there's a. As an epic song echoes through your.
Through your ears. Tell you what.
Between Guardian Abe. Who wants to go? Because I. I'm. I'm smelling a tag team.
[00:16:07] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:16:07] Speaker E: Libby, do you have a.
A cool thing that you wanted to do separately, or do you want to watch this, man?
[00:16:13] Speaker C: Let's tag team. And I'm happy to.
Are you trampling?
[00:16:21] Speaker E: I have a. I have a trample attack I can use.
[00:16:25] Speaker C: Well, as you trample, Abe can slash, and we can do the old trampoline slash.
[00:16:31] Speaker E: Hell yeah.
[00:16:31] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. We're just. Just like scything the weeds, hoping that.
[00:16:39] Speaker E: I combined like 700 pounds of weight. We'll do something here.
[00:16:49] Speaker B: We. We can only hope. Okay, so if you. So it's officially Guardi's term, so we'll switch it over to Gardi. And then Abe, if you're gonna trample Tim.
Livy, if you want to have Abe tag team along with Guardi, Yeah. By all means, spend your three hope.
And then.
So how. How's this trample? How's it work? So.
[00:17:15] Speaker E: So I can move range in a straight line and make an attack against all targets within melee range of the line.
[00:17:22] Speaker B: Perfect.
[00:17:24] Speaker A: Don't forget that vulnerable means that all roles targeting those that are vulnerable have advantage.
[00:17:34] Speaker E: So, yeah, I'm just gonna move forward with speed and intent.
So, yeah. Oh, sorry. There it is. How does it work with the. With the tag team?
[00:17:51] Speaker B: So basically someone. Someone tags him with you.
Yeah. You both roll, we take the best, and then you add your damage together if it's good enough.
[00:18:03] Speaker E: Amazing.
[00:18:06] Speaker C: I was a crit, so.
[00:18:08] Speaker F: Nice. Nice, nice.
[00:18:14] Speaker B: Oh, boy.
[00:18:15] Speaker E: Sorry, just checking what I need to attack with on.
[00:18:18] Speaker C: I don't think you might get a crit as well, Tim. That's would be great.
[00:18:23] Speaker E: We'll see what happens.
Where are you, powerful beast?
Okay, I've got it. It's strength.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: Yeah, right. Lovely. Yeah. You're so in your mighty strider. There should be a trample like weapon.
[00:18:52] Speaker E: Thank you.
Advantage.
[00:18:54] Speaker B: Yeah. So. Yes.
So I'll move. I'll move you through.
Move you through the throng.
[00:19:05] Speaker E: I guess. We just spoke again with the crit, though, I assume.
[00:19:11] Speaker B: I would ex. I would argue.
[00:19:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
Can we take the crit please, Dan?
[00:19:17] Speaker B: Yes. Yes, you can. So.
So, Livy. So Abe gains a hope for the crit, and then that is a crit for 23 plus advantage.
So, yeah, Livy, if you roll your damage And Tim has just rolled 11.
So crits are basically maximum damage plus what you roll. So 17 plus 11. 28 for Tim.
28 for. Sorry, 20.
Yeah, 28 for G.
[00:19:58] Speaker C: About a. 14 plus 16, 17, 18, 19.
[00:20:05] Speaker B: Yeah. So 33.
So 33 from Abe and.
Say 33 and then this is so that's 40, 50, 60. So 61 points of damage.
[00:20:26] Speaker C: Just a little not bad little baby.
[00:20:29] Speaker D: 61 not too bad through that man.
[00:20:32] Speaker B: Just. Just a few. Okay, so Griffin, you've hopped off onto. Oh Abe's. Abe's gone as well. So you've hopped off onto the barrels. As you as like Guardi and a just go barreling through these sproutlings and Mad Carian.
Suffice to say it is a hit.
Suffice to say that 61 damage is uh, severe. Suffice to say uh, that is more than double the severe of the sproutings.
So we will take four damage on the sproutling horde.
So under your hooves, Guardi, no less than 8 of the sproutlings are crushed under hoof.
[00:21:23] Speaker E: Incredible.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: So smash, smash, smash.
Just two left. And then poor Carrie Anne, he will also take four damage.
Abe, as you swing with your, well your ironically your wood chopping axe.
[00:21:46] Speaker A: Bark.
[00:21:47] Speaker B: Like man and you lop.
Well tell me what the ax does to carry on.
[00:21:56] Speaker C: I mean how, how bad is he?
Is he pretty bad?
[00:22:02] Speaker B: Well you, you tell me.
[00:22:04] Speaker C: He's pretty bad.
So the.
Yeah, it is Abe's wood chopping act. So it is very good at chopping dead wood.
And as he straight I can imagine it might get stuck. It might get stuck in his shoulder blades of Mad Karan.
And then Abe uses a boot to just take it out again.
Sure to kind of as he comes along kind of gets stuck. And then he's like, like you would with wood. Just kind of boot in and then ready for it.
[00:22:44] Speaker B: In which case with the momentum of you being carried into battle on Guardi's back like as you, you plant your boot in like mad Carrion's chest to retrieve your ax from his shoulder.
You can see that Carrion's left shoulder has split. You've quite literally like split the log.
And there is this dark, it looks like, like a dark redwood that's this thick kind of oozy sapphire SAP like substance.
But the, the red is a bit too crimson, a bit too saturated to look entirely natural. But rather than seeing kind of flesh and bone, you're. It looks like the inside of an, like an old tree.
But then as you retrieve your ax and this sort of like, red crimson SAP flings into the air.
You watch as the. The wound, such as it is, begins to dry up and harden at an unnerving rate.
And this sort of like, this new root like growth bursts from the wound to the point where Carrion's left arm just becomes more of a twisted knot of. Of vines and branches.
And as that happens, just real quick, I'm gonna trigger, because I should have done it earlier, a countdown loop.
Actually, I will.
What will I do?
I'm gonna trigger that countdown now.
So what have I rolled?
He's wrong. There we go. A1. Okay, cool. Okay, so in that case.
Yeah, Abe, you've just retrieved your. Your ax. And from this bursting wound, the countdown will tick down.
Oh, no one's rolled. Fear. Okay, so these vines are the. These branches have kind of burst out of his shoulder and are whipping wildly.
But you also notice that he seems to be aggressively adapting to the attack.
[00:25:12] Speaker D: Love that.
[00:25:14] Speaker C: Love that for him.
[00:25:17] Speaker B: Sorry, I should. Sorry. There's. There's a few. There's a few things that I should have asked for if I could from Gardi and Abe. Also, could I please have a knowledge reaction role, please?
[00:25:30] Speaker C: Oh, I'm. I'm not very smart.
[00:25:35] Speaker E: I'm just a llama.
[00:25:40] Speaker B: Get that on my T shirt.
Okay. Gardy rolls a nine with high. Well, it's a. It's a reaction role, so there's no hope or fear. Guardi rolls a nine.
And what is a rolls of 14?
Okay, so both of you have unfortunately failed. Like the. The you yanking this axe out of him. The fact that he See this carry on seems to be kind of partway between tree man, like pyro. There's. There's something not right here.
But both of you need to deduct a hope.
As you.
Yeah. As this. This scene unnerves you, I believe. Liv, you're already zeroed out.
[00:26:29] Speaker C: But no, I got one rolling a crit.
[00:26:33] Speaker B: In which case, yeah, you're. You'll lose that one.
[00:26:36] Speaker C: Can I quickly do something?
[00:26:37] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:26:39] Speaker C: Abe is gonna just pat the llama on its long, beautiful neck and say, oh, that was. That's the best normal ride I've ever had.
And as we now have a soldier's bond, we both get three hopes.
[00:27:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:27:02] Speaker E: Oh, yeah.
[00:27:04] Speaker B: Okay. Okay, that will. So that's. That's moving the spotlight onto you for a moment.
Do you want to make. Do another action while you're there?
[00:27:18] Speaker C: What? Stroke him again or.
[00:27:22] Speaker E: DMS Hate this one trick.
[00:27:28] Speaker B: It's so true.
[00:27:32] Speaker C: So I'm Can I make it outside the track? Am I allowed?
[00:27:37] Speaker B: So if we're moving the spotlight onto.
[00:27:39] Speaker C: You instead of a. I'm not going to be great at this.
[00:27:47] Speaker A: I.
[00:27:51] Speaker C: As I'm quite close up, can I do any kind of, like, insight roll into. As we're close up and he's got trouble right to his chest. If Abe can see anything about this new trinket that was talked about around his neck.
[00:28:11] Speaker B: Yes, you can absolutely do that.
I would argue for as you. If you're kind of like in the. In the heat at the moment, if you're trying to sort of like.
[00:28:30] Speaker A: At.
[00:28:30] Speaker B: Like, focus on a particular part of Kian, then I will need you to give me another knowledge reaction roll as well as his unnerving visage comes back for seconds.
Yeah, you can absolutely roll the. The instinct check.
[00:28:48] Speaker C: 17.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: Was that the instinct or the.
That was knowledge.
[00:28:55] Speaker C: That was.
[00:28:55] Speaker B: That's the knowledge.
[00:28:56] Speaker C: The reaction roll. That's the reaction. Sorry. Make sure that I don't get scared.
[00:29:01] Speaker B: No worries. So in that case that you've now, like, the. The. There was that initial kind of flash of panic and revulsion, but you're. You're sort of like your psyche now seems to be kind of making more sense. Sense of what it's seeing.
So you don't lose a hope. You have succeeded, and you will no longer be affected by Carrie Anne's unnerving visage.
So please, by all means, roll me an instinct check to see if you can find out what's happening with this pendant.
A 15. With hope.
You gain a hope, and that is high enough that you can see that you. Yeah, around. Like it's. It's more. More kind of easy to see, given that his head is kind of out of the way.
But you can see what looks like this. This bone. Well, this, like, pendant around his neck that's comprised of, like, hanging from the rope, from the string is like, three. What appear to be like, three wooden claws.
And perhaps what draws your attention to them? Well, what. You tell me. What. What is it that draws your attention most to them? That you spy them on his, like, collar, collarbone?
[00:30:20] Speaker C: That they are pointing inwards?
[00:30:28] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:30:30] Speaker A: And.
[00:30:33] Speaker C: They look like they are almost like vines of their own, but going into his skin. Like he's got vines coming out of him, but they're more like.
Like vines growing into his own skin.
[00:30:48] Speaker B: Very good. Okay. Yeah, I'm loving that. So, yes, it almost looks like these claws have pierced the flesh, but there's. There's clear, almost like root like protrusions growing under his skin, like the. The veins of a leaf.
And on. On the three kind of wooden claws, there appear to be like, slightly glowing kind of green runes that just sort of like gently thrumming with energy.
And you can almost.
Almost see the energy being pulsed into him from. From this. This necklace he has around his neck.
[00:31:29] Speaker C: Very interesting.
Very interesting.
[00:31:33] Speaker B: So with that in mind.
[00:31:37] Speaker A: Who.
[00:31:39] Speaker B: I will say that there's a.
While this is all happening, Cass and Cooper, you can hear some sort of, like, panic screaming in the streets, um, nearby.
Do either of you want to jump in?
[00:31:58] Speaker D: I think Cass is very ready to start having an argument with Cooper to the extent where she. She looks annoyed when things start flowing over the rooftops and panic screams come from behind them.
She gets out her gun and she says, are you going to help?
[00:32:23] Speaker A: Of course I'm going to help.
What do you take me for?
[00:32:26] Speaker D: Are you going to help this time?
If I throw you at something, are you going to help or are you just going to stand there?
[00:32:33] Speaker A: What were you expecting me to do exactly?
[00:32:35] Speaker D: I thought it was obvious if I threw.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: You threw my body on the floor.
[00:32:40] Speaker D: Yes, exactly.
Oh, God.
[00:32:47] Speaker A: Great.
No time for this. We'll talk about this later. I think we need to go figure out what's going on with everyone else.
[00:32:53] Speaker D: Right. Okay, come with me then. And she starts towards the. The panicked screaming alley.
[00:33:00] Speaker B: Sure, sure.
So I will say that your.
[00:33:13] Speaker A: You.
[00:33:14] Speaker B: It's probably gonna need to be. Okay, so the. The streets are like. There's still. There's. There's more people in the streets than I have tokens on the map for sure.
If you want to, you can either kind of invert commas, take your time.
Or if you want to rush through to try and get to what the. The cause of the panic is sooner rather than later, by all means, Romy an agility role.
[00:33:41] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:33:44] Speaker B: I will also.
Sorry, but while you're doing that, just because I.
[00:33:49] Speaker C: Not greatly.
[00:33:54] Speaker D: Just.
[00:33:58] Speaker B: Just.
[00:34:00] Speaker A: I'm so sorry.
[00:34:06] Speaker B: So just do this.
Okay. So, man, Carrie Ann's vines are preparing to whip.
Oh, I'll come back to that in a sec.
Okay. So, Cass, you. You sort of, like, try to make your way into the crowds, and you just kind of like, get caught up on a couple of kind of shoppers and storekeepers, and they're just sort of like bumping into you and, um, kind of knocking you back.
[00:34:37] Speaker C: And you.
[00:34:37] Speaker B: You don't make much progress in the grand scheme of things.
I'm going to take my fear and then I'll also, like, as. As you're pushing through you hear this like ick. This blood chilling kind of scream coming from around the corner of the alleyway that you. You heard the panicked cries coming from Cooper.
Oh, actually, sorry. There was a fear old up on the rooftop.
At the sound of the scream, I'm going to re trigger Mr. Carrion and he's going to. So those, those whipping vines that had erupted from his shoulder, they will.
They basically swing, swing out in a like a large sweeping motion.
And I'm going to.
So they immediately kind of fly out towards Abe and Gardi.
So this is a 20 to hit the two of you.
[00:35:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:00] Speaker B: Worryingly for you, Griffin, you are in range as these vines extend almost, you know, 20 plus feet to sort of like slash at you from a little way away. So 20 to hit all three of you.
And for those of you it hits, you take 16 damage.
[00:36:30] Speaker C: That's.
[00:36:31] Speaker E: That's going to be a lot of damage.
[00:36:34] Speaker C: That's minor damage for me. I'm gonna spend an armor slot. Won't take anything.
[00:36:39] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:36:45] Speaker C: It ain't nothing. It ain't nothing to a nave.
[00:36:51] Speaker E: Knock mine down to minor as well.
[00:36:53] Speaker B: Minor. Okay. And Nate, does that hit you for minor? What major?
[00:36:58] Speaker F: That hits me for major. Yeah. So I will spend an armor slot to get me down to a minor.
[00:37:06] Speaker B: Beautiful. Okay. In which case, so targets that mad carry on succeed against. So Griffin and Guardi, as these kind of vine like claws slash at you, the, like the, the suddenness, the shock of it also causes the two of you to lose a hope.
[00:37:30] Speaker C: Hope leech. This guy.
[00:37:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Is.
And I've restarted the loop timer. So the vines then sort of like retract back into his Carryan's shoulder. And you. You can now see that they're beginning to sort of like grow and like re. Energize over a short period of time. I will now jump back to Cooper.
[00:37:57] Speaker A: Hello.
Can I see if Cass is struggling to get around the corner?
[00:38:03] Speaker B: Can I help?
Yep. So currently, um, Cass is like. There's a bit of a scrummage. There's a bit of a scrum of shoppers and store attendants that are kind of like running in different directions. Some of a lot of them are running away from the sounds of the screams. And Cass is kind of caught on a couple of people he's trying to angrily shove.
[00:38:26] Speaker D: And it's not working.
[00:38:27] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:38:29] Speaker A: Right. Okay. I think he'll work steaming ahead, realize that she's not behind him, stop and turn around and be like, do we go up or round?
[00:38:43] Speaker D: Round then up.
[00:38:45] Speaker A: Right. Okay. Come on. And he'll reach his hand out for her to take so he can literally drag her through the corner so she can't get.
[00:38:54] Speaker B: Okay. Okay.
So in which case, let's say, like, is it. Is it more of a, like, grab. Grab by the wrist drag?
[00:39:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. It's not. Well, yeah.
[00:39:11] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:39:12] Speaker B: Okay, so I will ask for whatever. Like, whatever check you want to do. I'm expecting it might need to be, like, a strength check if you're muscling your way through.
[00:39:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess.
[00:39:24] Speaker B: So unless you want to try and do the.
[00:39:28] Speaker A: The.
[00:39:28] Speaker B: The duck and weave.
[00:39:29] Speaker A: More finesse. Yeah, I think he's. He is a more finesse guy. I think he knows how to get through a crowd. He's a rogue. He's got that street smart in him.
[00:39:37] Speaker B: So I'll take so. Well, finesse would.
That's more for, like, manual dexterity. If you're trying to jin through the crowd. I'd say that's more agility.
[00:39:50] Speaker A: Okay, we'll do agility.
[00:39:52] Speaker B: Okay. As you're dragging behind a Cassandra, I will ask for disadvantage, because if nothing else, there's that much more surface area, but crowd is applying itself to.
Right.
[00:40:07] Speaker A: Only for disadvantage, then. Here we go.
[00:40:13] Speaker B: Okay, a 12 is still gonna be enough, I reckon.
So the two of you are able to push your way through the crowds, fundamentally, to get to the entry, like, the entrance to this alleyway, but with the fear.
You see that in the. Like, just further down the Alleyway, there are two, like, $sh. You presume? Well, they look like Taurus, if anything, a little bit further along.
If I push you out a little bit further. But you can see that in the.
In the alleyway in front of you, there are a.
At least 10 or so of these kind of pink.
Pink leaves, like, pink petal creatures. They look like flowers, but they're moving around like, almost like tripids.
And they are currently swarming over these two tourists down the.
Down the alleyway. And as the two of you get to the end of the alleyway, you watch as these tourists are sort of, like, dragged to the ground. And these plants. One. Like, both of them have one of these plants begin to wrap around their heads.
And slowly, like, quite well, quite abruptly, the screaming stops from the small. From the goblin woman that now appears to have this plant attached to her face as this is happening right here. If either of you want to retake the spot spotlight, by all means.
Oh, wait. There was a fear. There was a fear.
So I will activate these sproutlings. Begging pardon. And.
[00:42:18] Speaker A: Was her not. Was the Tourist. Not the fear bit.
[00:42:21] Speaker B: Yeah, that was a fear effect. Now. Now it is my turn.
[00:42:25] Speaker A: Ah, God.
[00:42:27] Speaker B: So.
[00:42:30] Speaker A: I tried.
[00:42:33] Speaker B: The h. Like this horde of flowers looks to you, and the ones that aren't attached to the commoners launch themselves down the alleyway towards you between the two of you. And.
Let's go. For as they go, their petals shake and these spore like things begin drifting off them in your. Almost as if they're firing them at you. I've rolled a crit.
[00:43:18] Speaker E: Oh, no.
[00:43:22] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:43:25] Speaker E: Why do you look. Sorry about that, Dan?
[00:43:28] Speaker B: So you.
You. Boy, oh boy. So you take this much damage +16. So between the two of you, you take 30 damage as this barrage of poisonous spores attach themselves to you.
[00:43:54] Speaker A: What can I say?
[00:43:55] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:43:57] Speaker B: I don't. I don't have enough.
[00:44:00] Speaker A: I mean, if you didn't like us, man, like, I know they're annoying, but.
Okay, I'm just gonna have to take the hit on this because I don't think I. I haven't got the armor slots to reduce it to a major. It's severe damage.
Unless I'll be splitting it half and half to 30.
No, we take 30 each. Okay, that's fine. I.
Okay, that's three. That's four.
I already had one HP, so I'm on four. I'm at four out of seven.
Oh, I have armor, but I can't be you. Can't you.
[00:44:34] Speaker D: It says it.
[00:44:35] Speaker A: Is it one armor slot to reduce to the next section? Okay.
[00:44:38] Speaker C: Yeah, just take one.
[00:44:39] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:44:39] Speaker C: You can only use one, but you just take one and it takes you down a notch.
[00:44:42] Speaker A: Yeah, that's very helpful.
[00:44:44] Speaker B: You only take major damage instead of severe.
[00:44:47] Speaker C: I was gonna say. How have you used all your armor slots?
[00:44:54] Speaker F: He's taking emotional damage from Cassandra.
[00:44:59] Speaker A: It's true.
[00:45:01] Speaker B: So I should also say who. So both of you are marking xp. Marking hp.
You took damage, right?
[00:45:10] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:45:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
Cool.
[00:45:13] Speaker B: So. Well, I say cool. I then gain a fear each.
So I'm now up to seven fear and I will now pass back on. Do the two of you want to immediately retaliate or are we happy to cast the spotlight to the rooftop?
[00:45:32] Speaker D: Are they within melee range?
[00:45:34] Speaker B: They aren't. Yeah, they're. Now, fundamentally, there's. There's eight of these things just swarming you in retaliation.
[00:45:42] Speaker D: Can Cast Cast preservation blast.
[00:45:46] Speaker B: That sounds devastating. Absolutely. What does that do?
[00:45:50] Speaker D: So make a spell cast roll against all enemies within melee range. Any you succeed against are hurled into far range and dealt D8 plus three damage.
[00:45:59] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:46:00] Speaker D: Yeah, it's gonna blast back a bunch of Flowers.
[00:46:08] Speaker C: Wow, they're nasty flowers. They did some nasty ass damage.
[00:46:14] Speaker D: Remind me as a sorcerer, what my spell cast roll. That's just a normal role, isn't it?
[00:46:20] Speaker B: Your spell cast is instinct, I believe.
[00:46:23] Speaker D: Instinct, yes.
That's a 12 with fear.
[00:46:31] Speaker B: Okay. Bear meat to 6. 12 with fear.
[00:46:42] Speaker C: You've got a rally if you need it.
[00:46:44] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, you've got a rally if you need it.
[00:46:49] Speaker D: I will roll the D6 as well.
[00:46:52] Speaker B: Yes.
So 12 plus 6.
So an 18 with fear. Very good.
Very, very good.
That hits.
[00:47:06] Speaker D: Nobody had to see it.
[00:47:09] Speaker C: Amazing.
[00:47:10] Speaker B: So if you roll a. Yeah, roll your damage plus 3.
[00:47:15] Speaker D: So that's an 8.
[00:47:17] Speaker A: That's 11.
[00:47:18] Speaker B: 1111 DiMage total, which is major damage. Okay. So you do two points of damage. Drops three. And then they've already lost sums because they peeled off.
Cool. Okay, so the. The horde is wire is largely diminished. 1, 2, 3, 4. So four of them are obliterated as you. What does this preservation blast look like?
[00:47:48] Speaker D: I think it's. You hear like a rumble of like very close thumbs. Thunder. And it's just like, you know, like the impact of a lightning bolt. It's like that, but it blasts out from Cass and it just sweeps through this horde of approaching flowers. But it kind of. It seems to kind of sweep through Cooper without touching him.
[00:48:09] Speaker B: Okay.
Amazing. In which case. Yeah, like four.
Four of these plant, like creatures in front of you just sort of like disintegrate under the concussive force. And the remaining floor are just sort of like blown away down the.
Like down the alleyways of. Carried by this incredibly strong, like, blustery wind as they. And they kind of land near the two tourists that have been plantified.
I will, um, take this opportunity.
Cause way back when, someone rolled with fear. Oh, yeah. So for your preservation.
So as you watch these four plants get blown away, the two tourists that have been like, face hugged by these plants, they stand up, like, look towards you as these. As you unleash this magical assault. And then like, as they stagger, their heads turn to look the other way and down the alleyway, you can see that there are more civilians by a fountain further down. And with a.
They begin sprinting down the alleyway towards the other.
The other civilians.
That's gonna be it for my turn.
Who up on the rooftop wants to go.
[00:49:43] Speaker A: In?
[00:49:43] Speaker F: If I was to look over. So say if I was to look over here, over the.
Over the wall.
[00:49:52] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:49:53] Speaker F: How far away would I be from Cooper and Cassandra?
[00:49:58] Speaker C: They're around the side.
[00:50:00] Speaker F: Yeah, they're down downside. So. So, yeah, if I was to run over to the other side, how far.
[00:50:04] Speaker B: Away would I be?
What? So if you were to run south, you mean.
[00:50:09] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:50:11] Speaker B: You are about 20ft up.
[00:50:15] Speaker F: So close range.
[00:50:18] Speaker B: If you get to a point. So basically, the. The rooftop in Foundry is designed that.
With angles and heights and distances. It's figuring that all out because it's very clever.
So if you get to a point where you can see Cass and Cooper, like, when you're stood on the edge of the building, you can see Cass and Cooper.
[00:50:38] Speaker F: Okay, then in that case, Griffin is gonna run south. He's gonna. He's noticed that they've been talking to each other. Like, he's. He's seen Abe and Gaddy sort of, like, completely trample all of these flowers and just kind of gone like, they're fine.
He's overheard sort of like Cooper and Cassandra bickering at one another, and he's gone like, oh, they're talking. Brilliant.
But then he sees them running along, so he's gonna follow them sort of like along the wall on top of the rooftop and go down to this house. So he's just looking over the wall so he can just see them? Hopefully.
[00:51:17] Speaker B: Hopefully, yeah. So 30 foot gets you to there, give or take, and you should.
Let's push a bit further. You can just about.
You have to, like, lean right over.
But then. Yeah. Coup. And Cassandra stood at the end of this alleyway. There's, like, shredded leaf and pink petal just, like, floating through the air.
And you probably would have, like, while this was. While you were running, you probably would have heard this. Well, you would have heard this massive, like, concussive boom come from that alleyway.
And I assume Cassandra is in a cool. Just cast a spell pose.
[00:52:01] Speaker F: Griffin is sort of like, he's poised to do something. He sees that, and he just kind of goes like, wow.
[00:52:07] Speaker B: He's really impressed by it.
[00:52:09] Speaker F: But then he shouts out. He's like, cooper.
[00:52:10] Speaker D: Cooper. You're right. You're right. You look. You look a bit.
[00:52:15] Speaker A: Got attacked by a flower.
I hate this place. I'm supposed to be on holiday.
[00:52:24] Speaker C: It's all right.
[00:52:25] Speaker F: I got you, buddy. And I'm gonna cast Inspirational Word to spend one of my three tokens and give you back a hit point.
[00:52:33] Speaker A: Oh, thanks.
[00:52:34] Speaker D: Thanks, best buddy.
[00:52:38] Speaker B: Okay, so Cooper's going back up to five hit points.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:52:44] Speaker B: And that sounds like it for Griffin.
Actually, no, you haven't really done an action roll. Is there anything else you'd like to do count as an action? Do we think it's up to you.
[00:52:58] Speaker F: I'm happy for it not to count as an action.
[00:53:00] Speaker B: Well, I tell you, I'll tell you what. How it's been a little while. How are Aben Gardi getting on?
[00:53:07] Speaker C: Yeah, okay. I think after sort of seeing this amulet and now I think AB is feeling more comfortable with Gi now that Guardi is a llama.
Much more comfortable talking to a llama than a person.
So he's explaining to Guardi about the amulets. You go, oh, you don't think that's. I think that's what the problem is. I think he's got something very naked. It's all like in his. Have you seen it? It's all like.
That's right for. It was. It was all over.
[00:53:49] Speaker B: As an aside, I apologize. I'm not keeping. Not doing very well. Keeping track on it.
Carrie Anne's countdown at this point has now ticked down to 2, just FYI.
[00:54:02] Speaker C: I know what that means, but I don't like it.
[00:54:04] Speaker E: We'll find out.
[00:54:05] Speaker A: I guess.
[00:54:07] Speaker B: Something bad happens when it hits here.
[00:54:13] Speaker C: I would like. I'm within close range of him.
Can a make a grab for the hamdulit and try and rip it off his body?
[00:54:24] Speaker B: You can, you can, yes.
If it's a grab, I would. Well, you tell me what stat you're using.
[00:54:34] Speaker C: Strength, obviously.
[00:54:38] Speaker E: Can I like, grab Abe's back and pull and help him?
[00:54:44] Speaker B: Have you got hope?
I believe. Have you got some hope?
[00:54:49] Speaker E: I gave him like one hope to help. Yeah, I can.
[00:54:52] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. One hope. Yeah.
[00:54:53] Speaker E: Solitary.
[00:54:55] Speaker B: Yeah. No, you can absolutely do that. So Abe, I think, yeah, if you're just like proper, proper, like manhandling this. This thing that's emerging from his chest, from Carrion's chest. Yeah, Roll me, roll me a strength check.
We. If Gardi's happy to spend the hope to help, then you get advantage and that's presumably like a guardian. I'm assuming you're just like biting the back of Abe's trousers or something to.
[00:55:26] Speaker E: Help give some extra pulls.
[00:55:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:55:28] Speaker B: Okay.
Okay. Roll them bones.
[00:55:34] Speaker C: 17.
[00:55:35] Speaker B: 17 with fear. So I go up, right. I'm doing a better job of keeping up. I go up to eight.
Carrie Anne counts down to one.
But you manage to like, get your fingers around this.
Like, it's helped because the. The string is still string, so you're able to kind of get your fingers tangled around that a little bit. And on a 17, there is this in like this horrendous wrench and it feels like you're tearing like a large fist sized Scab from Carrie Anne's torso.
Look at it. It's like you're peeling a chunk of bottom bark off the side of a tree to reveal that sort of like, blood red wood like substance underneath. And Carrion roars in pain as you do that.
And it looks like.
[00:56:48] Speaker C: Well, the.
[00:56:48] Speaker B: The vines on his shoulder seem to die down somewhat.
So, yeah, he's still.
He still looks the way he does, but there doesn't seem to be this, like, as you rip it out. It's also, you know, when you grab a load of ivy that's growing up a wall, and as you pull it off, you just see it sort of like peel away.
It's almost like that. As you rip out these.
Well, they look like roots from his chest. As the necklace comes away completely in your hand.
I will. On a success.
[00:57:28] Speaker C: And then he puts it on.
[00:57:33] Speaker B: As you've removed that successfully, I'm gonna stop the bursting vine countdown.
[00:57:42] Speaker C: Nice. Good.
[00:57:45] Speaker B: However.
[00:57:46] Speaker C: Oh.
[00:57:47] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:57:48] Speaker B: However, I will.
As you've rolled fear, immediately take.
Take action with Carrion. And he.
As you rip this thing off his chest and he lets out this scream of pain, you'll actually find it's a chord of the isles.
So I will spend an additional fear.
Drop me to seven.
And I need everyone, all five of you, to make me a presence check, As there is this warbling.
Oh. Oh, boy.
[00:58:35] Speaker D: Oh, boy.
[00:58:37] Speaker C: I did six. I am.
[00:58:40] Speaker B: Okay, so we got enough. Okay, so, Griffin, Cassandra, Gardi, you've all passed.
The rest of you take.
The rest of you take.
I can't run it.
19 direct damage.
Which means it is unarmorable.
[00:59:19] Speaker C: What?
[00:59:20] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:59:22] Speaker C: Oh. Because it is straight in the brain.
[00:59:25] Speaker B: Your minds are sort of like, wrapped with this, like, warbling scream that, like, 10 tears at you, right? And it feels. It feels like your insides are molding over that. There's some. There's branches growing through your muscles.
And it's this. It's not as far as you can tell, but it feels like it.
Yeah. 19 damage. Unreducible.
[00:59:53] Speaker C: That gs2 health.
[00:59:58] Speaker B: And then I'm happy to pass it on to someone else.
[01:00:02] Speaker E: Can I have a good old stump on these little flowers, please?
[01:00:05] Speaker B: You can indeed. You can do. Is Abe still upon your back?
[01:00:11] Speaker E: As far as I know. Unless he's. Yeah, he's chosen not to be.
[01:00:14] Speaker C: We're in for the long haul, baby.
[01:00:17] Speaker D: Best friends.
[01:00:19] Speaker C: Can. I can ape. If. Can Abe drop the amulet? Is that something that can be done?
[01:00:28] Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely.
[01:00:30] Speaker E: Seems like a really good call.
[01:00:32] Speaker C: I am. Abe's just gonna drop it on the floor. Don't want to touch that anymore. Thank you very much.
[01:00:37] Speaker B: Because, yeah, you've noticed that during the screen, like, the. The roots. Like the plant like roots that were emanating from the ends of the claws, like they started whipping wildly looking for a new host.
[01:00:48] Speaker C: No, thank you.
[01:00:50] Speaker B: So, yeah, you drop it to the floor, and you hear the. The wood, like, clatter against the. The rooftop.
Okay, so atop Guardi's back. Guardi. Sorry, Abe is a. Abe is on Guardi's back, but Gardy go stomping.
[01:01:12] Speaker E: Storm stomp.
Oh, no.
Or is it worth even trying to use my rally?
[01:01:21] Speaker C: Why? I don't think you'll get.
[01:01:22] Speaker E: I don't think I'll get there.
Ah, never mind, Dave.
[01:01:27] Speaker B: Okay, you go to stomp at the sproutlings. They skip and sort of, like, dodge out of the way, and you're unable to. To land a hit. I'll gain the. The fear to go up to eight, and then I'll immediately activate those sproutlings as they sort of like, lash back at you with barbed fines.
But they only roll a 10 to hit, as there's only two of them.
Okay, so they whip at you ineffectually, but your thick fur keeps you mostly protected from the. From the swipes.
That's me.
I think it's good time we return to Cass and Cooper.
[01:02:11] Speaker A: Can I please drink my health potion?
[01:02:15] Speaker B: You may.
[01:02:16] Speaker A: After that. That horrendous display that was.
I can roll 1d4 worth of hits.
[01:02:25] Speaker B: 1D4 hit points. How much health are you on?
[01:02:30] Speaker A: Five out of seven. Because I couldn't armor it?
No, because it. No, because you keep hitting us at major or severe.
[01:02:38] Speaker B: Dan.
[01:02:42] Speaker A: That was great. That's great.
[01:02:46] Speaker B: Do you want to cheekily maintain the spotlight and do some stuff on things or you.
I would.
[01:02:53] Speaker A: I would like to do something, actually, because I feel like it's done nothing. Cooper's just run in, got her run back, but he just watched, like, you know, his ex do some wicked magic. And it's just like. Then given hate hp, he's just like, this is. This is too much. What is going on? I think he finally gets his composure, gets out his crossbow.
And I think, like, just here, I think there's like, this kind of like something that can kind of keep him hidden slightly, I think. Is it like a tent or like a box? I want him to kind of like. I just want him to use that so he's got some cover.
And I want him to fire at the sprout things that are moving away so they're also not attacking the Taurus anymore? I'm not sure, like, because it doesn't specify how many I can hit. So is it just one, or can I. Can I aim so I can hit two in one bolt? So what would you prefer?
[01:03:46] Speaker B: I mean, the four in front of you that were kind of blasted away by Cassandra, they seem to almost be operating as, like, a single unit, if you will.
The two, like, plant zombies that have gone careening down the. The alleyway. They are, like, for all excellence purposes, like, separate targets now.
[01:04:07] Speaker A: Okay. I'm wondering if I should probably attack them actually first.
Let's do that. Let's. Because I can do far range, I'll hit one of the scary tourists that have become.
[01:04:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:04:23] Speaker A: They'Re mutated.
[01:04:24] Speaker C: Yeah. For the greater good. Who cares? They're gone.
Now.
[01:04:29] Speaker B: There's a.
There's a goblin woman and there's a wolf king man.
[01:04:35] Speaker A: Which one is closer to the other tourists? Because I can't.
[01:04:38] Speaker B: Upsettingly, they're almost equal distance.
Okay, they're both gonna be a problem.
[01:04:45] Speaker A: The guy. I'll hit the guy.
[01:04:47] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:04:47] Speaker A: Okay, so. And because I am slightly hidden, I would like to use sneak attack as well, please. Yeah, cross. So crossbow again, trying to remember. All right. Crossbow normal.
Okay, that's an 18 with hope.
[01:05:11] Speaker B: That is a hit.
[01:05:13] Speaker A: Yay.
And then I'm just gonna open up my. So my Crossbow damage is 4.
[01:05:21] Speaker C: 14.
[01:05:22] Speaker A: Then I get to add sneak attack on top of that, which is seven.
[01:05:27] Speaker B: So 21 damage.
Okay. In which case, as you fire your crossbow bolt, like, you get to your. To your hiding spot. Time slows a little bit as you fire the crossbow, you can almost see it careen down the alleyway between the four sp sproutlings that are sort of like, trying to regain their composure. And there's a funk as you hit. What whereabouts on the.
The wolf command does your bolt strike?
[01:05:59] Speaker A: I. I aim for the head.
I aim to take him out as.
[01:06:04] Speaker B: Quickly as possible, in which case there is a dull fod as this bolt impacts with the back of the Wolf Command's skull and the speed at which it was kind of running towards the. The other civilians, he just collapses to the floor, skids until he crumples up against the steps of the fountain.
And as, like, he rolls over from the. From the force of hitting the steps, and you notice that this bolt has emerged from the front of his face through the, like, the bulb of the plant that was attached to his face, immediately ending both of them.
One shot, one kill.
Who?
So Griffin Cassandra, who wants to jump in next?
I take your hope for you.
[01:07:01] Speaker A: Go for it. Go for it.
[01:07:03] Speaker D: No, I was. Would you like to.
[01:07:04] Speaker F: Yeah, you go for it.
[01:07:08] Speaker D: I think, seeing this, Cass will follow suit, and she will aim for the other plant zombie.
[01:07:14] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:07:15] Speaker D: I think there's a. There's a sense, even if it's true or not, that if the zombies get to another group of people, that they will continue to infect.
[01:07:26] Speaker B: Someone's seen the film. Yeah.
[01:07:31] Speaker D: So that is a.
She will bring out her cross, her pistol, and that is a 20 with hope.
[01:07:40] Speaker B: 20 with hope. Roll for Dimage.
[01:07:43] Speaker D: Dimash.
I'm missing myself.
I can't seem to find.
[01:07:51] Speaker B: If you trust me, I can roll for Dimash.
[01:07:54] Speaker D: Yep, sure, I trust you.
Unless it's really low. Then I don't trust you.
[01:07:59] Speaker B: 12 damage.
[01:08:00] Speaker A: Cool.
[01:08:01] Speaker D: I'll take that.
[01:08:03] Speaker B: Which tell me where your shot lands on the back of this goblin woman.
[01:08:10] Speaker D: I think she's also aiming.
I think she. She was a little bit.
A bit distracted by Cooper being in pain. She doesn't want to show it, so she also goes to aim for the head. I think she ends up aiming a little bit further down.
[01:08:29] Speaker B: Okay.
In which case, as you level your pistol, I can only imagine that there's a moment where the camera's looking back up the alleyway at the two of you. Cooper, you on sort of like one knee, crossbow aimed. And then Cassandra, you, pistol extended, as the bolt and blast, like, fly down the alleyway, strike these two, like, plant infected simultaneously as the goblin woman goes skidding to the ground and also collides into the side of the fountain. Immediately, like, her movement stopping immediately as soon as she hits the steps. As you, like, check your shots to see if you've. You were successful, and you realize you were. You see that from flanking, like, flanked by these two bodies is another, like, young goblin woman in a sort of like a. A pink. Like a. A quaint little pink dress.
And like, she looks up to you.
Like, her.
She splattered somewhat by.
By the innards of these two, like, infected. But, like, she looks up to you. Like the. The blood's tinging her. Her sort of, like, Albany hair, and like, she just.
She's shaking and quivering slightly.
[01:09:58] Speaker D: We've traumatized a young and.
[01:10:02] Speaker B: But you hear from, like, she, like, looking at the two of you. She then shouts out, out.
[01:10:09] Speaker A: Thank you.
[01:10:11] Speaker B: She squeaks. Cassandra, you take. Take your hope, if you haven't already.
[01:10:17] Speaker D: Thank you. I shall.
[01:10:19] Speaker B: Who's going next? It sounds like Griffin. Griffin's not been for a while.
[01:10:23] Speaker F: Griffin's gonna sort of look over and then he's gonna look over the wall and then back again to a gaddy and kind of see like which. Which group probably needs his needs most help.
Gary, who was it who just attacked you a moment ago after you did your turn?
[01:10:42] Speaker A: Was it.
[01:10:43] Speaker E: It was them little fellas.
[01:10:44] Speaker F: The little fellas.
[01:10:45] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:10:46] Speaker F: In that case, Griffin is gonna join you guys, that is.
And he's gonna come up close and he's gonna give one of these fellas a whack with his cutlass.
Okay, so that is still in my spell book.
[01:11:10] Speaker B: Get out of that.
That's another crit.
Another crit. So you gain your hope if nothing else. Nice. And roll for Dimash. And then we'll add up.
[01:11:30] Speaker F: And that will be.
So the total damage will be 16.
[01:11:43] Speaker B: So 16 plus 17 is 33 dimage.
[01:11:46] Speaker F: Yes.
[01:11:47] Speaker B: Okay. In which case.
Yeah. Griffin, describe to me how you describe dispatch both of these plant like creatures.
He's just.
[01:11:57] Speaker F: He's just going to come in and sort of give like a big old flourish with his cutlass.
[01:12:03] Speaker B: He's.
[01:12:04] Speaker F: He's probably trying more to impress Abe and trying to go like I can do this too. And just sort of just get.
Probably because they are just flowers. They probably just. Both of their heads just.
[01:12:19] Speaker B: Just puff off.
[01:12:20] Speaker F: So it doesn't look as great as it does. As he's trying to make it out.
[01:12:25] Speaker B: There is a proper fruit ninja style.
Their heads come flying off.
Amazing. Okay. Congratulations Griffin, on dispatching those who you've. That was crit. So who wants to go next?
[01:12:42] Speaker E: I wouldn't mind having a crack.
[01:12:44] Speaker C: Yeah, let's crack on with this big guy.
[01:12:50] Speaker E: I think I'm gonna. I'm gonna rear up to to D. Abe myself.
[01:12:59] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:13:02] Speaker E: Sorry, Abe.
And as I come out of rearing on two legs, I'm turning into back into man version gaddy.
[01:13:11] Speaker B: Okay.
Look at that.
[01:13:18] Speaker E: I'm gonna. I'm gonna run over here because I've heard that there's combat a foot.
I want to see what's going on.
[01:13:26] Speaker B: Okay. So as you run to the edge of the rooftop, you can go a bit further. So you can see Cass and Coupe in the alleyway striking a real Charlie's angel style pose.
And there are a number of. You can see a number of more of these kind of sprout like creatures. The ones that you saw kind of leap off earlier.
[01:13:48] Speaker E: Amazing.
Is anyone is. Can I count everyone as being in close range?
What would the drop?
[01:13:57] Speaker B: I reckon.
Yeah, close enough.
[01:14:02] Speaker E: Sweet.
All right, I'll mutter some druid stuff whack.
Plunge my staff into like the planter next to me.
[01:14:13] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:14:14] Speaker E: And some green streaks will go down my stuff into the ground and then pop up as magical plants around everybody as I will cast a spell.
[01:14:30] Speaker B: These are good ones.
[01:14:33] Speaker A: Cool.
[01:14:34] Speaker E: So everybody gets a hit point.
[01:14:41] Speaker C: Thank.
[01:14:48] Speaker B: Amazing. Okay, so if. If you do that, I am going to somewhat cheekily spend a fear.
[01:15:01] Speaker A: And.
[01:15:04] Speaker B: Carrion has had enough of your nonsense.
So he's going to.
He like. So he's double backs, double back. He's just out this kind of of reverberant scream.
[01:15:24] Speaker A: He.
[01:15:26] Speaker B: Like, as he.
He sort of like hunches. He slumps forward.
His head kind of LS LS back.
So it's now kind of hanging limply by his sort of like wounded left shoulder. Um, and he begins to like, vibrate and shake.
And a number of spores drift off him towards Abe.
So that is a 19 to hit.
[01:16:04] Speaker C: Yes, sir.
[01:16:05] Speaker B: I'm gonna spend a stress to do this much.
Plus another D8 damage.
Good. Well done, Mad Carrie Ann. For a total of 14. 14 damage?
[01:16:27] Speaker C: Yeah. That's minor damage for me.
So that would be one armor slot.
Some shots rush that off.
[01:16:38] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:16:41] Speaker E: When I moved away from carrying. Does he get to slap me or something?
[01:16:46] Speaker B: What do you think this is? D D.
[01:16:50] Speaker E: Sweet. I just wonder if he was paying attention. So.
[01:16:53] Speaker B: No, no, no, you're fine. You're fine. Instead I'll just spend another fear.
So spores have like drifted out towards Abe and now he sort of like turns around, sees Griffin still sort of like mid pose, mid slash.
[01:17:15] Speaker C: And just look at ape.
[01:17:20] Speaker B: Griffin and 11 to hit.
[01:17:25] Speaker F: No.
[01:17:26] Speaker B: Okay. You dodge out of the way as Carrie Anne like leaps at you and he sort of like his foot catches on the planter that you're stood beside and like he clatters to the floor. But then in a really unnerving way, he's like skitters, like almost like a. Like a cat on a smooth surface for a moment. And then he just like rises back up.
Sort of like back back first, if you will.
As. Yeah.
Gets back to his feet.
I've had enough on with Carry on. Who wants to go next?
[01:18:05] Speaker C: Let me slap that boy.
Okay.
[01:18:11] Speaker F: I mean, you've got enough hope. Do you want to do a tag team?
[01:18:16] Speaker C: Well, I.
You'd have to. I've already tag teamed so I can't tag team again. You would have to tag team me.
So I've tag teamed because I tag teamed with. I spent my hope toward tag team. That makes sense. So.
So I would give you a compliment, but I've already done that today.
[01:18:39] Speaker B: And Abe only has one compliment.
[01:18:43] Speaker C: And it's not for Griffin. You're not a ll.
So.
I keep forgetting I can do unstoppable and I've never done it before.
[01:19:01] Speaker B: Unstoppable.
[01:19:03] Speaker C: Unstoppable.
[01:19:06] Speaker B: You're gonna Unstoppable.
[01:19:07] Speaker C: I will. Unstoppable. Let me get up for.
[01:19:11] Speaker B: So if you click that in, I will set your unstoppable die to Juan.
So for Livy's purposes, there is a bar on the right hand side of your token that will rise for each turn you Unstoppable.
[01:19:26] Speaker C: Hello?
Where. Where is it on my.
[01:19:32] Speaker B: On your character sheet. It's a feature.
So I'll click through. Click it through for you. There you go.
[01:19:41] Speaker C: Crap. So blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, what I'm going to do is I'm going to attack him first. I'm gonna go ax in the face. Body, body, body.
Okay, so that would be my.
This one.
That'll be my this one.
[01:20:17] Speaker B: So that is a hit with hope.
With hope.
And then for all your dimash.
[01:20:26] Speaker C: And then dimash.
There's rubbish. Can I use my rally dice, please?
[01:20:38] Speaker B: You can.
So seven plus one is eight.
Okay, so you take a large swing at Carrie Anne and you his body, right? You put a light gouge across his.
Across his chest and carry on. Sort of like replacement reflexes away from it slightly. That is minor damage.
[01:21:04] Speaker C: Can I add. Can I add on.
[01:21:08] Speaker B: Because of your.
It's another plus one for your unstoppable. So it's nine damage.
[01:21:14] Speaker C: Can I spend a hope to head by him?
[01:21:17] Speaker B: You can, you can fab.
[01:21:20] Speaker C: I always get a head button.
[01:21:22] Speaker B: Sure.
Okay, so you're at nine at the moment.
[01:21:26] Speaker C: So let me get this one up.
There we go. An extra 5 of headbutt damage.
[01:21:35] Speaker B: 14 damage total. So as you swing with your ax like, you use a momentum to drag your head forward and your head boom. Impacts with Carrion's forehead. That's kind of like link loitering around his.
His shoulder blade. Anyway.
And Griffin, you hear like a telltale noise as like what sounds like two blocks of wood hammer into each other.
That is minor damage.
[01:22:08] Speaker C: Done.
[01:22:11] Speaker B: So as an aside, just.
Just while we're here, bear in mind if anyone wants to sort of like double turn. If it makes like narrative flow sense, by all means. So given that Abe's just gone unstoppable, if Abe wants to take another crack.
[01:22:26] Speaker C: Let'S go for another crack then, shall we? Okay, another crack.
We're gonna go.
15.
[01:22:38] Speaker B: 15 is a hit with a Fear with a fear. I got to seven.
[01:22:49] Speaker C: And a seven for damage.
[01:22:57] Speaker B: Okay, that is minor damage, so carry on. Drops to.
Drops down. One more hit point. I will take this opportunity to.
As you're like wailing away on carrying. I'm gonna.
The.
I'm gonna move the drama to.
To the sproutlings. And having just been blasted away by Cassandra, the four remaining sproutlings turn to see the civilians cloistered around that fountain, and then they begin to head in that direction impressively.
Luckily they're not.
They are about 3 foot 2, 5 foot too far away to reach the.
The commoners, but. So that's going to be their move. Who would like to take the next go?
[01:24:03] Speaker A: Can I. Can I blast them with my crossbow, please?
[01:24:06] Speaker B: You may. You may.
[01:24:08] Speaker A: Thank you.
[01:24:09] Speaker D: I just say before you blast them, I feel like there's like this little moment of genuine panic when the healing flowers emerge around Cass is like bashing them away from.
[01:24:23] Speaker A: Has Cass seen Gotti's magical plants?
Because I think people will definitely be like, what the hell is this?
[01:24:31] Speaker E: But haven't been in a situation where we need to like.
[01:24:34] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:24:35] Speaker E: Healed up in a. In a hurry before, so we've been.
[01:24:38] Speaker D: In any major fights.
[01:24:42] Speaker B: I suppose the. The.
[01:24:43] Speaker C: The.
[01:24:44] Speaker B: The number of times you've been in scenarios where plants are theoretically trying to eat you is also quite limited as well.
[01:24:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay.
[01:24:54] Speaker B: Okay. Yes. Coupe.
Do your thing.
[01:24:58] Speaker A: Gonna crossbow these things. So again, I'm hidden. So it should be. If it hits. That should be good. So normal 25.
[01:25:07] Speaker C: Nice.
Big boy. Big boys.
[01:25:10] Speaker A: I'd like to add, so I can add my sneak attack, which is useless. Can I also add my rally, please, which is my 1d6 dice as well.
[01:25:21] Speaker B: You may.
[01:25:22] Speaker A: For damage.
Yeah.
[01:25:27] Speaker B: Have you. You haven't rolled for damage yet, have you?
[01:25:30] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the four.
Oh, no, I. For damage. Yeah. Sorry. That's me being silly because I haven't got it up at all.
So at the moment there's five damage plus whatever.
14.
[01:25:46] Speaker B: 14 in total.
Okay, Coop, as you like.
What's going through your mind as you see these four, like zombie plants sprinting, seemingly sprinting towards these civilians?
[01:26:11] Speaker A: Well, it's. It's the same little girl that said thank you to us earlier. And I think that's. It's just like. No, no, no, no.
[01:26:18] Speaker E: No way.
[01:26:20] Speaker A: You know, he saw what the other two became, which is basically mindless and running. So he's trying to make sure.
[01:26:28] Speaker B: In which case, as you take the breath to steady your aim and pull the trigger.
Describe to me how this one crossbow bolt skewers all four of them.
[01:26:44] Speaker A: Amazingness. No, I feel like. Because, like, it looks like the.
The street kind of narrows. They have to kind of be in like one. One little huddle together.
So it's like in a line. I don't think it takes that much to kill them because they are just flowers. So I think Cooper is very carefully takes the breath and just waits and just has to keep waiting. Has to kind of focus until they are just in line and then lets the bolt go.
And then, yeah, as you say, it just like skewers them all and then they just hit the fountain steps all together.
[01:27:19] Speaker B: Okay.
In which case, as these four flowers become kebab upon your crossbow bolt, this poor little goblin girl, like, lets out another scream as this cross revolt rattles again across the. Like, rattles off the fountain steps by her right. Her right foot.
And Coop, you.
You're able to take your.
Another, like a breath in as like, time dilation stops and you kind of go back into the present and you've. You managed to pull off the shot and the civilians have all been saved.
[01:28:01] Speaker A: Apart from the two.
[01:28:03] Speaker B: Apart from the two that got murderized.
Take. Take your hope on a job well done.
Who up on the rooftop.
Well, actually, Cass, is there anything you want to do while you're down here?
Are you happy to pass. Pass the camera back up to the roof?
[01:28:21] Speaker D: I think she's. She's just gonna look at Kufa, like, very impressed, very briefly, and then she forces it down.
[01:28:30] Speaker B: Amazing.
[01:28:31] Speaker C: Well done.
[01:28:33] Speaker B: I think Gardy will pan the camera slightly up to Gardi. Whoa.
[01:28:44] Speaker E: I think I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna shoot that lad with magic. Shooting.
[01:28:52] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:28:54] Speaker B: When in.
[01:28:55] Speaker E: Yeah, I think, like, I'm trying to. I'm trying to modify my. My usual attacks that would usually be like, you know, about increasing the vitality in the target potentially and trying to, like, figure out how to turn off some of these plants.
[01:29:15] Speaker B: Let's see.
So your. So as an aside, just bear in mind your short staff that you're equipped with is a very final fantasy. You can wiggle it around your head and bolts of magical fly out the top.
[01:29:27] Speaker E: Oh, yeah, for sure.
[01:29:28] Speaker B: I mean, that is arranged.
[01:29:29] Speaker E: Arranged weapon PPP 16 with hope.
[01:29:34] Speaker B: 16 with hope is a hit. Roll for damage.
[01:29:38] Speaker A: Hurrah.
[01:29:40] Speaker B: And describe to me what this, like, ar. What this barrage.
What flavor of. I presume it's primal magic.
[01:29:50] Speaker E: Yes. Yeah. So it'll be primal magic.
And it kind of looks like shadowy vines, but almost kind of like looking at a Film negative in the air.
So that's going to whip out, hopefully do a little bit to him. I have a mighty nine damage. I'm gonna chuck my rally on that. Okay, we can tip it over.
Was that a D6E6?
[01:30:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:30:22] Speaker C: 6.
[01:30:22] Speaker B: 9 damage plus.
[01:30:26] Speaker E: 4.
[01:30:27] Speaker B: 13.
Okay, so these primal blasts slam into Carrion and he's knocked a few steps.
You.
The bark absorbs the majority of it. That is minor damage. No, it's another.
Another hit point.
You've rolled with hope.
So, yeah, who. Who do you want to maintain? Do you want to keep hold of the spotlight? Do you want to pass it on?
[01:30:56] Speaker E: Oh, let's, let's. Let's pass that on to my boy Griff. And in the meantime, I'll just. I'll just lean over and say Matt Fell is still ticking up here.
[01:31:08] Speaker B: Okay. As. So as you shut that down to Cooper and Cass in the alleyway. Griffin, what are you doing?
[01:31:15] Speaker F: I think he's just about to take another slash with his. With his cutlass after seeing Abe go properly royally rampant on him.
Just as he's about. Just as he sort of lifts up his cutlass again, he sees this sort of blast of primal damage sort of come from Gaddy, and he just kind of goes like.
[01:31:36] Speaker B: He just sort of gives a thumbs.
[01:31:37] Speaker F: Up and then he's gonna make an attack with his cutlass.
[01:31:40] Speaker B: I've been terrible at remembering this, but as you lift your cutlass to take a swing at Carrion, please roll me a present strike check.
[01:31:49] Speaker A: What?
[01:31:50] Speaker E: Oh, would you like a retrospective presence check for me as well?
[01:31:56] Speaker B: Yes, please.
[01:31:58] Speaker E: Excellent.
[01:32:00] Speaker B: Guardi is fine.
So you. You are. You are done with Kan. You. You fear him no longer.
And Griffin, you also fear him. No.
Okay, you've seen Abe take chunks out of this guy, so, yeah, it's. You're fine now. Yeah, by all means, start. Start swinging.
[01:32:23] Speaker F: Start hacking away.
And 11, I'm gonna also use. I'm just gonna double check.
[01:32:36] Speaker B: Your rally.
[01:32:37] Speaker F: Yes, I'm also going to use my rally.
[01:32:40] Speaker B: Okay, very good.
[01:32:42] Speaker F: Five to make it a 16.
[01:32:44] Speaker B: 16 with hope hits. Roll for damage.
[01:32:52] Speaker C: Nice.
[01:32:54] Speaker F: It's a nice little 15 there for damage.
[01:32:57] Speaker B: 15 is minor damage.
You take off, strip off. Another hit point, Carrie Anne. Like, there's dents, there's chunks missing out of the bark.
Like they're oozing this, like, dark red, like SAP, like material.
But yeah, this carrion is refusing to drop.
You've rolled with hope to make sure you've ticked up that hope.
But as you do, like, slash into him, I'm Gonna still steal the spotlight to retaliate against you, Griffin.
12 to hit.
[01:33:40] Speaker F: Meets it beats it.
[01:33:41] Speaker B: Meets it beats it.
You take 16 damage as he slashes at you with the. The vine. Like the branch, like claws on one hand.
And then.
And then I'm gonna spend another fear to activate him again because the other arm's going for Abe. 12 to hit.
[01:34:08] Speaker C: Yeah, that hits.
[01:34:10] Speaker B: Okay, so you take 17 damage as his other arm slashes out towards you.
[01:34:24] Speaker F: Going to mark myself an armor slot as well and take minor damage instead.
[01:34:29] Speaker B: Mine damage. That is Carrie Ann.
Done for who. Who wants to take the spotlight?
[01:34:38] Speaker A: I feel like me and Cass could. There's a steps, right, that goes up to the roof from what I can see.
[01:34:44] Speaker E: Yeah.
[01:34:44] Speaker A: I propose that I turn to Cass and go.
We should go upstairs quick.
[01:34:51] Speaker D: Right. I think there's like a moment where she. She makes an evaluation as to whether or not she's leaving him down here.
And then she. She puts out her hand in like a come on then kind of way.
And if she. If he takes it, she will try and blink out up to the roof.
[01:35:10] Speaker A: Oh, nice.
[01:35:11] Speaker B: Cool.
[01:35:11] Speaker A: Yeah, he'll take it.
[01:35:12] Speaker B: Okay, so we'll activate Cass instead.
Yeah. If you roll out your blinkouts.
[01:35:19] Speaker D: Yeah.
Say insight is my spell casting.
That's a. That's a 20 with fear.
[01:35:28] Speaker B: 20 with fear.
That all? So let's just pop that in the chat. Yeah, that will do it. So you.
So you need to spend two hope to teleport the two of you up.
[01:35:42] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:35:43] Speaker B: Within far ranges.
[01:35:45] Speaker D: I think it's one. One hope because I'm just taking the one creature. So it's additional hope for every willing creature I take with me.
[01:35:53] Speaker B: Spend a hope to teleport to another point. You can see if any.
[01:35:58] Speaker D: Oh.
[01:35:58] Speaker B: So I think it's one for you, then additional for them.
[01:36:01] Speaker C: Okay, cool.
[01:36:02] Speaker D: Yeah, I can do that.
[01:36:03] Speaker F: Cool.
[01:36:04] Speaker B: In which case, with a.
The two of you teleport up.
I'm gonna plonk you on the corner here, and I'm gonna set your heights to the right height.
But Cassandra, you can basically teleport wherever you like, because you can teleport to far. So it's anywhere you'd like on this rooftop.
[01:36:25] Speaker D: I think it'll be like wherever she can see. So it'll. It will be that edge.
[01:36:29] Speaker B: Sure. Cool. Cool. Okay, so, Cassandra, you've teleported up there. That is a fear.
As you like. As the five of you come back together, I'm going to reignite Carrie Anne, reinitiate Carrie Anne and seeing you and sort like flailing from the multiple wounds.
Gonna spend a fear to do the thingy again.
So I need everyone to take a presence reaction role as Mad Carrion begins flailing wildly and screaming a reverberant call that rattles your bones.
So Nate has succeeded as Crits.
Abe fails, Cassandre fails. Guardi passes. Cool. Super passes. So Abe and Cassandra, you both take.
14 unmitigatable damage.
[01:37:42] Speaker D: That is a.
[01:37:44] Speaker B: Releases this, And I will pass play back to whoever wants to retaliate.
Oh, Coop. Let's go for Coop, because you just teleported up.
[01:37:59] Speaker C: Blinked up.
[01:38:00] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I think.
I think Cooper will assess situation as quickly as he possibly can.
And then because people are in relay range of Carrion, he can do a sneak attack as long as he stays still. So he's going to stay where he is, take position, and he's gonna do his good old crossbow attack again. So.
[01:38:27] Speaker B: Okay.
[01:38:30] Speaker A: So 17.
[01:38:32] Speaker B: 17 is a hit.
[01:38:35] Speaker A: Wicked. Okay, let's get the damage up.
Damage, damage, damage. That's six points. But then I'm gonna add my sneak attack on top, which hopefully is a little better. Okay, so 17 points of damage.
[01:38:52] Speaker B: Okay, so, Cassandra, describe to me what your blink out a moment ago looks like.
[01:39:02] Speaker D: I think, again, it's. It's very lightning. Like, so she. She grabs hold of Cooper's hand, and then there's like, a crackle of thunder, and in that crackle, they vanish and there's sort of like a spark up on the rooftop, and they just can, like, blink back into existence.
[01:39:20] Speaker B: Okay, so in which case, as.
As the two of you kind of re. Blink into existence out the. At the cracking lightning, you're buffeted by this, like, psychic scream that's emanating from this brought, like, it's. This is. I think this is the first time you've seen him dragged himself up onto the. Onto the rooftops.
He doesn't look well, is the easiest way to describe it. He looks much more kind of mutated and transformed than he did when you were, like, had him pinned down in the stores only like, a.
A couple of minutes ago, if anything.
And like, as everyone recoils and like, tries to try to cover your ears as best you can to try and block out this psychic assault.
Cooper, as you bring up your crossbow and, like, you're. You're trying to make sure that you're not gonna plug Griffin in the back as everyone's swaying, describe to me how this happens.
[01:40:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I think he's going to again, aim for the head.
Try and, like, stop it from.
From the head. So as Like Griffin's in front. I feel like, very calmly, because Cooper is a good shot. It is something he knows he was good at. He knows that's something he's always been good at. Takes his time, waits, waits for the opportunity, and then plows that bolt right into his head. And I feel like it. I feel like basically the head could explode. I feel like that depending on obviously the, the force of it. And then with the goo and the bark, like it's almost like it cracks and splinters and starts to separate.
[01:41:03] Speaker B: Okay, that's absolutely what happens is this bolt fires through the air.
You time it just right. So like Griffin sways out of the way like as he's trying to protect himself from the psychic advance. And this bolt strikes this like this screaming caran square between the eyes. And the bolt splits his head literally like a log.
And as the bolt kind of ricochets out and sort of like flies off at an angle from the, from the impact.
The, the bisected head of Carrie Anne sways like, causes the, the whole body to sway for a couple of moments. The scream immediately stops, stops and everyone. You're able to catch your breath as the, the psychics. The psychic screen immediately finishes and Carrie Anne staggers for a few moments before seemingly turning to regard the five of you. And then one leg gives out and he collapses to the floor.
And as he lands in a crumple, Abe and Griffin, you take a step back as you watch as the whole, as the corpse begins to wrap. Like it begins a process of rapid growth like vines and like vines begin bursting out of the wound, almost wrapping it them up like a cocoon. And then within a matter of moments, it begins to mulch a molder until it just becomes this blood stained mess on the floor and Carrion has been defeated.
And as the five of you like take a moment to catch your breath, I reckon we're gonna go for a quick break.
So yes, if you are enjoying this, make sure to stick with us. We're gonna go for a quick 10 minute break for, for those of you who are watching, thank you. Hello. Hi.

[01:44:44] Speaker C: Tea after all of that.
[01:44:45] Speaker B: Quick tea break.
We will be back in 10 minutes.
See you soon.

[01:56:11] Speaker C: It's an intense fight. We're just like.
[01:56:17] Speaker B: Yes. Before the. Before the break, we. We concluded a very intense fight with tree zombies and zombie plants.
Yes. Yeah, that's.
And.
And everyone's looking a bit haggard, I feel. Well, most of our group are looking a wee bit worse.

And yeah, being a member means that you'll just be that much closer to the action, that much, that much closer to the steering wheel of this Campaign.
Yes. With all that in mind, we return to a rooftop in the stalls of Dolashal.
As the five of you like heavily panting from the recent exertion, the. The moldering blood stain of what was once the like. As the vines are withering away, you've notice reveals an almost.
Well, it would be a pristine wooden skeleton if it weren't for the numerous injuries like evidence of the injuries that Carrie Anne had sustained during the fight.
But if you hadn't seen where this had come from, you might have expected it to be some sort of macabre but artisanal wood carving art piece of this. Of this law of our man's skeleton arrayed on the floor in front of you.
[01:59:03] Speaker F: I don't think England is going to believe us.
I don't think he's going to believe us on this.
[01:59:09] Speaker A: Is there anything identifiable on the body that we can say, look, that pirate we were trying to find.
[01:59:20] Speaker C: Like stick.
[01:59:20] Speaker F: A beard on him.
Like just. It'll be fine. It'll be fine.
[01:59:25] Speaker C: Did he have a beard, even have a beard to begin with?
[01:59:28] Speaker B: He did. Well, so actually I will say yes, he did have a beer to begin with, but that had turned into sort of like viney kind of ropes. So. But so let's say perhaps the one thing that notes this as not like a real skeleton is the fact that protruding from this sk. This wooden skeletons like lower jaw and like mustache area is this sort of like parody of Mad Karan's beard, but made of like dead twigs.
Yeah, just like twig like growths emerging from his. From his lower jaws.
[02:00:14] Speaker C: Abe will just lop off his head.
[02:00:21] Speaker B: Yeah, the head. The head just falls away. It's just.
[02:00:25] Speaker C: Well, this is probably the best bit in it.
[02:00:28] Speaker D: What happened to him?
[02:00:30] Speaker C: We would.
[02:00:31] Speaker D: Down there.
[02:00:36] Speaker C: Oh yeah. Don't touch that.
He says, pointing at Griffin.
[02:00:43] Speaker B: Abe, as you say that and sort of like point to where you discarded the amulet.
You turn to look and notice there is nothing there.
[02:00:57] Speaker C: I. Nobody touched it, did they? Nobody took it.
No looking at you. Oh, it's a Cooper or you look like a look a tea leaf.
[02:01:11] Speaker E: Everyone check your. Check your shoes.
Does anyone have a creepy, crawly little necklace on you?
[02:01:19] Speaker A: No.
[02:01:21] Speaker D: I like to see that.
[02:01:24] Speaker A: Of course you would.
[02:01:26] Speaker B: Abe, you do remember that when you wrenched this pendant, this necklace from Carrie Anne's torso, the. The roots that kind of were yanked out of his chest were sort of like flailing wildly under the response to his call.
You, and you quite rightly identified it as being a little bit alive when you had it in Your hand when you discarded it.
So, like, as you turn, you can't help but feel like it's scampered off somewhere.
[02:02:00] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, dear.
[02:02:02] Speaker B: And in the. The busy, bustling streets of Dorlash hall, you can only hope that perhaps it gets trampled underfoot.
Because to find. To find what looks like a clump of weeds in this town would be.
Yeah, I think difficult.
[02:02:26] Speaker C: Abe kind of thinks about it. It's a bit like.
And he's like.
[02:02:34] Speaker E: Can I have. Can I have a good think about whether or not.
I just. I really hope that Gary's grandmother might have told him some sort of stories that involved an amulet of some sort. So I'd like to spend a. Hope to use my experience and have a little think about whether I would have any idea whether I've heard anything about this sort of parasitic jewelry roll for.
[02:03:01] Speaker C: Have a little think.
[02:03:05] Speaker B: That's Daggerheart baby.
[02:03:10] Speaker E: Knowledge in.
[02:03:12] Speaker B: I think it's a knowledge check.
[02:03:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:03:14] Speaker B: Run me up a knowledge check. If you spend your hope you'll get. You'll add your.
So which. Which example was it? It's the storage on the campfire. Ancient wisdom.
[02:03:24] Speaker E: Yeah, I'll use ancient wisdom to give.
[02:03:26] Speaker D: Me plus little gray sounds.
[02:03:30] Speaker E: I'm gonna think really hard.
It's not a bad think.
[02:03:35] Speaker F: That's some good thinking.
[02:03:36] Speaker E: Seventeen. Seventeen thinking.
[02:03:38] Speaker B: Seventeen thinkies.
[02:03:41] Speaker A: You.
[02:03:44] Speaker B: Okay.
That is you. You have done the thing. So what. What was your line of inquiry.
[02:03:55] Speaker E: Basically? Just whether.
Whether I would ever have heard any stories that related in any way to some sort of like jewelry or items that become parasitic or that have some kind of natural curse on them.
[02:04:12] Speaker B: Sure.
What I'll say then is like, jewelry per se.
No, but on. Off the back of a successful knowledge check, Tim, you tell me the story that your grandmother told you around the campfire once upon a time that backs up your suspicion and that will become our new truth.
So.
[02:04:48] Speaker E: I think that there is the story of Prince Kalan who bought from a shadowy trader a new saddle for his horse.
And as he was riding his horse, he began finding it becoming taller and taller until he was riding on a tree.
And that probably isn't literally true, but I'm like, huh, there's something in this.
[02:05:26] Speaker B: Yeah, there's definitely like that story.
Perhaps the horror part is that the prince found himself almost merging with his steed in some twisted natural symbiosis.
Yes.
[02:05:45] Speaker E: When he tried to get off the horse, he found that his legs had become part of the bark.
[02:05:50] Speaker B: Yes.
So the. The. The tale of, you know, everything is one with nature.
Taken to the literal extreme and perhaps mentions of the. The sort of like the.
[02:06:11] Speaker A: The.
[02:06:12] Speaker B: The surv. Not survival of fittest. The might makes right truth of the natural world mixed with, you know, that they. They say that mushrooms are able to have this network that allows them to connect with all other mushrooms through this almost mycelial network. What a. What a horrendous thing.
[02:06:38] Speaker C: Who would do such a thing?
[02:06:41] Speaker B: Yeah, how the. Like is it true? Like perhaps there is this natural, almost like hive mind nature behind nature that seeks to return everything to nature.
[02:06:58] Speaker E: That was the moral of the story, maybe.
[02:07:02] Speaker C: Cautionary tale. Mushrooms are weak.
[02:07:04] Speaker E: Mushrooms is weird.
So that's basically to say mushrooms are weird.
I think that was what she was.
[02:07:17] Speaker B: Anyway, thanks for that, Gary.
So, yes, I guess the thing that you acknowledge is you've heard stories of sort of like a transformation, like I said, let's say a symbiosis of sorts, but. But not, not from directly from like a piece of jewelry. But I'm just trying to think. You saw. Yeah. You saw Caran before he transformed and he appeared to be almost like clawing and scratching at his chest, at this necklace.
And you remember seeing that the necklace was made of this, like, particular wood that had these runes carved into them.
So you're wondering if perhaps Carrie Ann was a victim of like, the necklace ended up becoming like a focus for whatever affected. Carry on.
But yeah, that's a.
It's. That's not something that happens normally. Let's just.
Just highlight that that's probably for the best. Yes.
With this kind of worrying knowledge in mind, as the five of you make your way down off the rooftop onto the streets, there is like, there's the murmurs of confusion and like the pensive, like, is it safe to come out from the. The various civilians?
And seeing the five of you descend, a couple of people kind of recognize your faces from the. The skirmish just a moment ago. And it's them. They just saved us.
And you see the. The commoners who are by the. The fountain rush over to you.
And before long, the five of you are swarmed by the civilians of Doal, all kind of celebrating your success as you're. As you're kind of cheered.
And Cass and Cooper as you sort of like are buffeted by all the. All the. The. The celebrations, you notice that sort of like stood near the back of the crowd. Perhaps it's you, Cooper. She's got that slight kind of height advantage.
Or maybe maybe you're stood on the steps coming down from the rooftop, but behind the crowd sort like, sheepishly looking, like she wants to get in, but she can't because the crowds are being a bit too kind of raucous.
You spy that little kind of goblin, that small goblin woman, that young goblin woman in the pink dress who you. Who, you know, you saved twice. The two of you saved twice.
And like, she notices you peering at her and she just kind of like. Like her. Her eyebrows raise in this really kind of timid, shy little smile, and she clasps her hands at the waist as she kind of looks up to you. And like she. Ky Lee mouths thank you from like, over. Over the. The, like the.
The blusterous crowd.
And yeah, Cassandra, as you notice, Cooper's attention, like your line of sight is drawn to this small goblin girl that's thankful for your.
Other five of you just kind of lapping this in or are you pushing off?
[02:11:15] Speaker C: I think Abe's just trying to just. Abe, who's currently covered in sort of a mixture of blood and SAP, is sort of palming a wave through, you know, get out of the way.
And he's just kind of smearing bloody SAP on people's faces as he's kind of face moving them away.
[02:11:39] Speaker E: Yeah, Gary's probably just using Abe's wake to like, cut through the crowd.
[02:11:44] Speaker C: Nobody's here.
[02:11:45] Speaker D: Nobody's here.
[02:11:46] Speaker C: Everybody's here.
[02:11:49] Speaker F: Griffin is behind Abe at the same time, and he's. And he's just like talking at Abe about how great that was. He's just like, wow, that was absolutely amazing. You sort of just went, yeah, went like that.
[02:12:00] Speaker B: And then you went like that.
[02:12:01] Speaker F: And then I just kind of went, haha.
[02:12:03] Speaker B: And I went like that.
[02:12:05] Speaker F: Like, you're just paying no attention.
[02:12:07] Speaker C: Yeah, just keep continuously walking and just. Just not really noticing anything. It's just. He's got one thought which is get away from all these horrible people as quickly as possible.
[02:12:22] Speaker B: Well, as, like, as you're kind of moving your way out, like Abu. Clear away for the. The rest of you, like, you and your companions to kind of break free of this scrum.
And you, like, you almost tread on this small kind of goblin girl that's just kind of loitering at the back of the crowd in this little pink dress.
Well, it's like a pink tunic and like a bright orange dress.
And she kind of apologizes meekly as she kind of skitters out the way of your big clomping hooves.
And as the five of you emerge, she sort of like slides in front of you, Cooper and Cassandre, the two of you.
And she.
Thank you for saving my life, she says.
[02:13:27] Speaker D: You're welcome.
[02:13:30] Speaker B: You two. You.
You. You make quite the team, she says. And she sort of like, rocks on the. She kind of rocks onto the sides of her feet, like in a slightly awkward kind of.
But she, like, her hands still clasped, and it. It just feels like there's.
There's like a. That you just knew what to. To do, and you were just, like, in. In sync with one another's. It's like. It's like the two of you connected.
[02:14:06] Speaker D: Cass is like blushes and bleach moving away from cooperation.
[02:14:13] Speaker A: I think both of them are kind of like, as. As the more she talks about it, the further away they get from each other. They were like, this is kind of fine. No, it's not fine, actually. No, no, no, not anymore.
[02:14:24] Speaker D: I think Cass is not very good with children, particularly, or younger people. So she very, like, awkwardly puts out her hand and, like, pats the Goblin girl's head.
[02:14:41] Speaker C: She.
[02:14:41] Speaker B: She sort of, like, looks a bit shocked as you pat her on the head.
And out of curiosity, do either of you still wear your rings?
[02:14:59] Speaker A: Not on three.
[02:15:00] Speaker B: One, two. Like, yes.
[02:15:01] Speaker D: No.
[02:15:03] Speaker C: Where do you wear it then?
[02:15:05] Speaker B: One, two, three.
[02:15:10] Speaker A: Yeah, K. Cooper's not visibly wearing a ring, but he does still have it.
[02:15:17] Speaker D: Yeah. Likewise, she's not visibly wearing any rings.
[02:15:20] Speaker B: Okay.
In which case this, like, this Goblin girl looks a bit kind of confused as you pat her on the head and.
But, like, she carries on looking at the two of you wistfully.
And just from looking at her, you can see that, like, this. This young Goblin woman's mind is seemingly, like, racing. Like, she's. You can almost see her painting this.
This beautiful picture in her mind.
[02:15:52] Speaker D: She ships it.
[02:15:53] Speaker C: Yeah, she's putting this. She's putting up some Tumblr later. She's got.
[02:15:57] Speaker B: She's.
[02:15:59] Speaker F: Yeah, that fanfic is already shipping the.
[02:16:02] Speaker B: Hell out of YouTube too.
And as she sort of, like, looks to you, that looks at the two of you whimsically. Like, you hear a commotion from further down the street and, like, you hear the sound of sort of like, many boots moving in your direction until a number of, like, identically dressed guards like Cooper. You definitely know these to be the guards, um, in their kind of polished metal breastplates.
They're scaled like lower tunics.
And what kind of note denotes them as city guard, primarily are the kind of. The wrapped red bands. Bandages or not bandages. Wrapped red cloth around their helmets and their waist.
Before rush over two arms with what appears to be like, large kind of halberd like glaves, like curved halberd like glaves. And two arriving with firearms. Um, and the ignan sprite at the front, who's wielding a. A firearm, looks around and what happened here? What happened here?
[02:17:17] Speaker C: Wait, too late. That's what happened.
[02:17:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Where were you like 15 minutes ago?
[02:17:23] Speaker C: The.
[02:17:25] Speaker B: Guards kind of look around a bit confused and what like the. The little goblin girl turns around and goes to say something to the guards.
And then the Laura of our woman. There's a lot of our room with like dark shoulder length hair, but kind of emerging from her helmet, she almost like she quite literally palms the young goblin girl's face away and says, not now, Eileen Aileen.
And as she sort of like pushes this little kind of this goblin woman away, she just like a aen just kind of, oh, just shrinks back into herself slightly. And you hear the crowd start to sort like murmur, wa. Is that hopeless? Aen?
[02:18:11] Speaker A: Oh.
[02:18:12] Speaker B: Oh, bless. Hopeless. Are you lost here? Do you not you lost?
And the goblin girl just kind of look like she blushes. She almost goes as bright red as the sashes of the guards. And Cooper and Cassandra, you watch as she just like looks to the two of you one last time. But then like her, you see her bottom lip is starting to quiver slightly and then she just like slips away into the crowd and disappears.
And like, as you, as you see her disappear, you hear someone in the crowd going, hopeless.
[02:18:48] Speaker A: Eileen.
[02:18:53] Speaker E: I could catch on.
[02:18:58] Speaker B: The guards, yeah, the gods kind of turn their attention to you as they're suddenly like.
Like your exploits are explained to them by about a dozen civilians all simultaneously, but different speeds. And the guards are just a bit like, just bamboozled and like, because there just some preposterous claims are there. There was this. There was a pirate and he turned into like a tree zombie. And then he was like, he started flying. And then.
And then you and the five of you again, Cassandra and C specifically, you notice that there are some sort of like blood. Blood stains on the steps by the fountain. But the bodies of the. The two civilians that were like plant face hugged have completely eroded.
There's nothing left but like debris and moss.
[02:19:57] Speaker D: No.
[02:20:01] Speaker C: Great place to get rid of the tourists, thinks Abe.
[02:20:07] Speaker B: The guards seem preoccupied. Do the five of you want to stay and talk to them or do you want to make a dash for it?
[02:20:14] Speaker A: Let's go.
[02:20:15] Speaker C: Yeah, I think Abe, who has the skull of mad Karan, is trying to kind of put it between his vest and his shirt as a kind of just trying to. Trying to like, and then just continues walking and there you go.
Not much clean up. It all just went anyway, didn't it? It's all gone. We've done it all. It's fine.
[02:20:44] Speaker B: Good.
[02:20:44] Speaker C: Much.
[02:20:46] Speaker A: The.
[02:20:46] Speaker B: The five of you are able to definitely break away from the guards. And the guards can't really follow because they're currently being mobbed by this appreciative crowd.
Where. Where's. Where are you heading? Straight to the Bountiful Parlay to report back.
[02:21:03] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[02:21:05] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:21:06] Speaker B: So in which case, as the five of you make your way across town to the parlay, it's like it is realistically is night now now. So the sun has set and as you like, head east along the Noble's Knot, the. The. This road, like the street that runs from one side of Doshal to the other, you can see that like some lights are turning off, other lights are turning on, and the. The city just. The town just kind of takes on this. This wildly different kind of ambiance.
And they're like. It's a. It's a bizarre mixture of kind of calm and serenity. As you can hear off in the distance the. The sounds of the sea washing up against the docks. You can hear the sound of like late night seabirds coring overhead mixed with the sounds of like. Well, the. The closer you get to the Bountiful parlay and sort of like the pirate side of town, you can hear more kind of raucous noises from revelers and gamblers and drinkers as they begin pouring into the various gambling dens and taverns and other establishments of the night.
Yeah, you eventually make your way into the Bountiful Parlay, the.
The tavern where you once met Boss Ungrana.
And like very quickly you are. You are kind of noticed, you are taken to the same kind of back room that you first met the boss Angren in, and you find the imposing kind of dark skin pirate in the same kind of pose that you found him originally. So sort of like slumped in his.
Well, when I say slumped in his throne, there's this.
There's still this sort of like power and authority that radiates out from him. And the. In the low light as he. As he looks to you and yeah, he, like, you see his eyes kind of twinkling in the darkness, illuminated by the.
The candle, like the torch sconces around the room. Like his eyes open wide, like slightly wider, as if waiting for your.
Your report.
[02:23:51] Speaker C: I think Abe will just sort of chuck the skull towards his feet.
There he is.
We found him.
You didn't really specify what state he had to be back in. So there he is.
[02:24:11] Speaker B: Boss Ungrana tilts his head.
And you would have me believe that this trinket, this bauble, this wall mounted decoration is Mad Karayan?
[02:24:29] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:24:30] Speaker C: Look at it. He's got a big bushy beard.
It's the same one here.
[02:24:38] Speaker B: Looks more like a crusty juggler.
Boss Ungrana, like, turns his head slightly and beckons. And one of the. The pirates that was involved in your little kind of initiation scrap earlier this evening, like, steps forward from the darkness and like she gingerly kind of picks his skull up and sort of like it's clear that she's finding it quite unnerving to hold.
And then she sort of like looks over her shoulder and you hear her say, it does does look like emboss.
And Angrina demands an explanation.
Yeah, you can.
I mean, between the five of you, what. Are there any bits that you're definitely telling him? Are there any bits that you're not telling him?
[02:25:39] Speaker D: I feel like we're telling him the whole bit.
[02:25:42] Speaker E: Might as well.
[02:25:42] Speaker D: He's the one that didn't harm us. What might have happened?
We went through some to get this head.
[02:25:49] Speaker A: We heard he was sick. We went looking for him. We found him. He became a tree zombie. He attacked us, so we killed him.
[02:25:57] Speaker D: He screamed a lot and he took away a lot of our health points.
[02:26:00] Speaker A: He murmured a load of things and kind of exploded into a tree, like, whereas, you know.
[02:26:05] Speaker E: Yeah, it was aware of a wooden amulet he'd acquired.
[02:26:15] Speaker B: Boss Ungrana like, tilts his head and I remember he.
He wouldn't stop talking about this trinket he found on the isles.
[02:26:27] Speaker D: He found it on the isles.
[02:26:30] Speaker B: He said that it was. He found it. So it was his.
His.
[02:26:37] Speaker E: There you go.
[02:26:39] Speaker B: That's.
[02:26:41] Speaker E: I think it must have been terribly cursed.
[02:26:47] Speaker A: Coming out of him.
[02:26:54] Speaker B: Boss Ungrinner growls.
And from another. From a shadow in the other corner in the room, the four, the five of you hear a more sultry kind of feminine voice say, I did tell you he would always pick things up that he wasn't supposed to.
And from the shadows steps a familiar now to the five of you. Purple, like lilac head, a surv woman as Ella's mirror, like, tilts her head. And who finds it odd that she's just chilling in like Boss Ungrana's throne room for all excellence and purposes, not.
[02:27:46] Speaker D: In the slightest caper.
[02:27:48] Speaker A: Finds it a bit surprising.
[02:27:49] Speaker C: Yeah.
Abe doesn't trust her as far as he can throw her and he can throw her pretty far.
[02:27:59] Speaker E: Can I get a sense of, like, what does the power dynamic here feels like? Are they treating each other like equals, or does one of them seem like they might have the upper hand a bit?
[02:28:11] Speaker B: So, tell you what, roll me a.
Like a reaction.
Is it presence? I reckon it might be a presence.
Perceive, sense, navigate.
I.
Instinct. If you want physical of like. If you want the answer to be physical. Like the physical tails. Presence. If you want the sort, like the social dynamic tales.
[02:28:40] Speaker E: Oh, that is. You're more useful. But I am rubbish at it. All right, let's.
I'll give it a go and see what happens.
[02:28:51] Speaker C: Okay.
[02:28:52] Speaker B: 16 up.
Is that a present?
[02:28:54] Speaker E: Sorry, yeah.
[02:28:55] Speaker C: Presence.
[02:28:56] Speaker B: Presence.
So you get the sense from the pirate that picked up the skull that she does not like. This pirate does not want to like. She.
There is a. There is a healthy amount of respect, but that is reinforced by arguably an unhealthy amount of fear for Boss Angrina and you. You kind of get the feeling from things that you've heard about Boss on Grinner, like, he is not. He's certainly not someone to suffer fools gladly.
And like, Ellis Mirror, being a civilian, like, she wasn't allowed in here earlier on today. Like, she was kind of barred, but now she's just sort of like, flouncing around the room.
You would use the word flouncing if Cassandra's face, like, expression is anything to go by.
[02:29:56] Speaker D: It definitely does.
[02:29:58] Speaker B: But, like, it's strange. You. Is it. Is it a tolerance thing? Are they tolerating Elismira's presence like that?
No one seems disgruntled by her being here, but perhaps this is just the power of Ella's Mirror to be a bit of a social queen bee, because she seems to know a little bit about everyone. Right. So perhaps she just has a bit of a VIP pass in places where others might not be allowed in.
This is curious.
Elismira, like, takes a few steps forward and sort of, like, starts inspecting the skull of Carrion.
She's right, you know, it does look oddly like him.
And then she turns to the five of you and you say he just transforms into this beast.
[02:31:03] Speaker A: Yeah, like, exploded into it. Vines out.
Why would we lie? It. It's. It sounds false enough. Why would we make it up?
[02:31:14] Speaker C: Abe just kind of as he's still covered in bloody SAP.
[02:31:17] Speaker A: Yeah, look at him. Look like I'm doing that Will Smith meme. Like.
[02:31:25] Speaker B: Elismira, like, nods.
Nods as you kind of make your exclamations.
And she places, like, a hand on your shoulder and she that must have been really tough for you. She says to you. Cooper, That sounds like it was a really rough time.
[02:31:49] Speaker D: Yeah, it was so rough for him.
[02:31:52] Speaker B: Like there's a moment where Cassandra you what you notice Eliza's lips purse slightly and then she for all of you, she says as she turns to regard you.
And then sort of like she just kind of drifts. She takes a step back and she just kind of drifts back into like partly into the darkness.
And yeah, Boss.
Boss Ungrinner speaks again, saying this is certainly not the turn of events I was expecting. But you did in one form or another find our missing mad carrier.
And it would seem for what you've said that his his time was already due.
I will honor our bargain.
You have found Mag Karrian, so we will provide you passage to the islands isles upon one of our vessels.
We the the storm appears were it seemingly is worse at night. So we will leave at the crack of dawn.
Make your preparations.
You will not want to stay on the isles for long, but perhaps just as long as you need to find the answers you seek.
And like he looks to the 5 view in case any of you have any counter proposals or anything to add.
[02:33:41] Speaker A: Oh question.
[02:33:45] Speaker F: Are you gonna come pick us up afterwards after we're done?
Because I mean.
[02:33:54] Speaker B: Boss Angrina like his face scrunches up slightly.
As long as I am not displeased between now and then, he says.
[02:34:09] Speaker F: And what would displease you?
[02:34:14] Speaker B: Too many questions.
[02:34:17] Speaker F: Right.
[02:34:18] Speaker B: Okay.
As yet he he looks to the others in case there are any other questions.
At the the sound of the thunderous silence, Griffin's been told off. He's not allowed to ask anymore.
[02:34:45] Speaker A: Too afraid to ask any more questions.
[02:34:48] Speaker B: Well so perhaps in the most like blatant flouting of this quite like intimidating and aggressive social circumstance you find yourself in you. The five of you then watch as Ella's mirror sigh like slinks up to the side of Boss Angrina's throne and sits like balance perches herself on the arm of the like the arms of the thrones are basically decorated with two kind of steering the wheels from from ships that you assume are like trophies and she sort of like balances herself on like sits down on one of these wheels and like got be careful so very very delicately, very carefully and she like looks over her shoulder at Boss Ungr and he's not like he doesn't move his head. You just see his eyes glance up to her.
If you were heading to the aisles I was. I'm sure there'd be a space for one more passenger.
She says. And you what Cassandra? You certainly notice her like visibly flutter her eyelashes and Boss just growls and nods slowly.
Marvelous. Well, she says and she looks at the five of you. I will be seeing you all bright and early at dawn.
She looks to I'm going to smiles. And then she just sort of like almost prances like skips out of the room, leaving the five of you behind.
Is there anything else?
Bossangrena growls.
[02:36:41] Speaker D: I have a question.
[02:36:44] Speaker B: Yes?
[02:36:45] Speaker D: This necklace that was found on the island.
Have any more been found?
[02:36:55] Speaker B: Not that I know of.
He says. And you hear like there's this. There's this simmer of frustration in his voice, not at you, just at the fact that perhaps he doesn't know if there are any more untoward surprises in his future.
Pirates are known to be quite nimble fingered when acquiring trinkets.
I pray to the. I pray to the dragons.
The carrion is the only one stupid enough to bring one back without telling me.
[02:37:47] Speaker D: Thank you.
[02:37:50] Speaker B: And carrie, I'm gonna nods.
Please feel free to enjoy the.
The services of the parlay this evening.
You.
You may not realize it, but you have done us a service.
So we will extend our hospitality hospitality to you for the evening.
And he nods and effectively kind of gestures you out of the room.
Ah.
Before you go, you Dragon scent.
[02:38:34] Speaker A: Yep. Hi.
[02:38:39] Speaker B: Someone came asking for someone.
Someone is asking for a dragon scent that matches your appearance.
[02:38:50] Speaker A: Okay.
[02:38:51] Speaker B: He has. He had an air of business about him?
[02:38:59] Speaker A: Sure. Okay. Do I. Does he left a calling card? Do I know where I need to find him?
[02:39:04] Speaker B: Like what?
[02:39:06] Speaker A: Any sort of.
He.
[02:39:14] Speaker B: He suspected that you would return so you will find him in the drinking hall.
[02:39:20] Speaker A: Okay, thanks.
Thank you.
[02:39:27] Speaker B: And yeah with that the five of you find yourselves back in the drinking hall of the Bountiful Parlo.
Starting with Gardy.
What are you doing this merry eve?
Like what. What activities in this drinking hall? Gambling den?
Building of the night? What activities are you most are you taking part in?
[02:39:58] Speaker E: I'm gonna see if I can.
Obviously there's, there's a bunch of flat roofs around. I'm gonna see if there's any roof at some point because I'm finding it really like stifling in here.
[02:40:09] Speaker B: It's quite smoky. Yes.
[02:40:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:40:13] Speaker B: Okay.
[02:40:14] Speaker E: Too many people.
[02:40:16] Speaker B: Sure, sure. You absolutely find access to like the flat top roofs of this building there. It's.
I mean it's more drinking space, but at least it's not hot and stuffy like it is inside. But from where you are you can see you've got just about enough vantage because I imagine that the bountiful parlay is. Is actually almost like three, maybe four stories tall. The building, it doesn't look structurally sound or architecturally well thought out, but it does give you height.
Perhaps.
Perhaps the top floor, which is quite narrow and kind of opens the air, has this almost like performative crow's nest mast jutting from it. Like, there's no rigging to allow you to climb up to the mast, but it. You kind of get that high up feeling from being in the crow's nest when you're overlooking this balcony. And yeah, you can see the sea to the north.
The. The night sky is clear apart from the kind of the rolling purple lightning storms over the aisles, the mainland isles to the north.
But from your vantage, as you kind of scan this curious island that lies, you know, some miles to the north of you, you.
Your eyeline kind of follows round the. The aisles wrap from sort of like the east horizon. So the west horizon that you can't see for the town of Dawlishal wraps all the way around to the east.
The easternmost aisle, you know, dominated by this almost like, large mountain that juts from it.
[02:42:10] Speaker E: Yeah, I think I'm just gonna.
Not quite meditate, but almost get to that. That sort of point. Just thinking on, like, I think most of my experiences with using this primal power, although it. It isn't intrinsically necessarily always for good, what I have used it for is for healing and for protecting people. And seeing it, whether it's been harnessed for this or whether it is doing this of its own accord, I think it's quite troubling.
So I'm just sort of drinking a disappointing beer and staring out to the horizon, pondering it.
[02:42:56] Speaker B: Sure.
Where are we finding Abe?
[02:43:04] Speaker C: I think Abe is very torn about Boss Ungrynna's invite for what he thinks is hopefully an open bar and going home.
So I think he's kind of. He's always has his own tankard with him, so he asked them to fill that up, and he just assumed it's open bar. So as soon as they fill it up, he just takes it and he walks outside and he sort of sits on the stoop of the bountiful parlay, Just kind of having a drink, having a think and wondering and just kind of. He's just kind of trying to clean the SAP off his. His axe because it's really sticky and he's really just disappointed. Disappointed that it's all sticky because he likes to take care of his stuff.
So it's just kind of sitting there, just kind of drinking a big, weak beer.
It's obviously been watered down. It's a bit rubbish.
And just kind of trying to, like. Kind of. It's like using, like, a bit of rock that he's found just to kind of try and chip away some of the stuff that's on his.
On his.
Just kind of grumbling.
Didn't say it was gonna be no SAP on anything. He didn't say he was gonna. Oh, blood's all right. Doesn't take much to get blood out. But it's sticky. It's all sticky now. I just, you know, maybe a bit of vinegar or something. Maybe I should go home.
[02:44:45] Speaker B: As you are sort of like mumbling and kind of wittering to yourself, perhaps your mind.
Perhaps you're wittering as much as you are almost in an attempt to distract yourself, because come the morning, it seems like you are going to be joining these four numpties that you've landed yourself with, and you're going to be heading to the aisles.
But normal. I mean, that's not unusual for you to head to the isles, but you usually stick to sort of like the Western peninsula, where things are a bit more calm and certainly less occupied.
[02:45:35] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:45:36] Speaker B: Given that you know that there are keeper natives on the isle and you're going to be traipsing almost into their front garden, what thing are you worried about most about them seeing you?
[02:46:00] Speaker C: That they will want to know.
[02:46:10] Speaker B: Why.
[02:46:11] Speaker C: Abe isn't with other keepers. I think he feels like it's quite a sort of insular community.
And obviously he's a very insular person, but they're normally insular together.
And I think he's worried about the questions that will be raised.
And also he's just had a fight with these guys, and they took way more damage than he did.
So I think he's also quite concerned if they get into any trouble, that he's gonna be responsible for that.
And he's just.
Yeah, he's got his work cut out, I think, is he doesn't really know why he's got himself into this situation. He's just wants to go over and just check that all of his sort of things that he has on the island, his little traps and stuff, are all still there. And he just doesn't, you know, just. He's just kind of like, why am I doing this?
But he's kind of stuck in it now, and it's too. It's too awkward to get out of it.
[02:47:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay.
Well, as you mumble to yourself and try to kind of push some of these imposing thoughts, like, back from the forefront of your mind, what's Cassandra up to this evening?
[02:47:46] Speaker D: She's gonna go be a bother.
I think.
She kind of spots that Abe isn't at the bar. He isn't noticeably in the room.
[02:47:58] Speaker C: He's normally noticeable.
[02:47:59] Speaker B: He's quite noticeable.
[02:48:02] Speaker D: It takes a little while to find him. She finds him outside where he's sitting, and she kind of. She leans in the doorway.
And again, you get the sense that she's not used to talking to people. She's used to being annoyed at people and demanding things from people, but she's not really used to talking to people. And so she kind of goes.
It's a bit much in there, isn't it?
[02:48:31] Speaker C: Just kind of.
[02:48:35] Speaker D: In there. It's a bit. Bit full of people in where?
Back there.
[02:48:42] Speaker C: Where?
[02:48:43] Speaker B: Oh.
[02:48:45] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. I'm not really. I.
You know, I've lived here for.
For a while, and I. I don't normally come down in. Spend time in the nightlife, you know.
[02:48:59] Speaker D: So you. You live on. On the aisle or you come from the aisle?
You know about it?
[02:49:06] Speaker C: I live. No, I live here.
I. Up the road.
See that aisle?
[02:49:12] Speaker D: Yeah.
[02:49:13] Speaker C: Just points to the mound. I live out there.
[02:49:15] Speaker B: I mean, it's nothing but hill.
[02:49:19] Speaker C: The eye is that bit over there.
That's where I live.
[02:49:23] Speaker D: I'm sure it's very nice.
[02:49:26] Speaker C: No, it's not really, but it's all right.
[02:49:30] Speaker D: I was trying to be polite. Okay. Can I sit down next to you?
[02:49:35] Speaker C: Why?
[02:49:37] Speaker D: The SAP.
The SAP that you've got all over you.
Can I take some?
[02:49:46] Speaker C: Well, like. Yeah, can you take it off? Are you any good at.
[02:49:49] Speaker D: I.
I can try.
She kind of sits there.
[02:49:55] Speaker C: I was. I was thinking maybe, like, vinegar or.
[02:49:59] Speaker D: Yeah, it's kind of really on there, isn't it?
[02:50:01] Speaker C: I've been trying to bash it with a rock, and that hasn't really done much.
[02:50:06] Speaker D: She sort of scrubs it, I was hoping, because it.
I think it's something to do with wild magic, and I can't get my hands on anything to do with it. And everything in the fight earlier just knocked it into the ground, except for that. And if I could just get my hands on it and maybe put it somewhere, you know.
[02:50:33] Speaker C: What, do you want to put it in your glass?
[02:50:37] Speaker D: No, this glass. And she's got, like, a template that's, like, full of. She just, like, dumps the contents.
[02:50:49] Speaker C: Abe's just like, kind of like. Sure. You weirdo's got a glint in her eye.
[02:50:56] Speaker D: Known only the likes of Cooper.
[02:50:59] Speaker C: She's just kind of like screaming, scraping this tankard, like, up his body, like, trying to kind of scoop it in.
[02:51:07] Speaker D: At the same time that it's going.
[02:51:09] Speaker C: On, like, kind of. Is this what you want? Kind of like, yes.
And then kind of, just kind of. I hope your boyfriend don't mind me doing this.
[02:51:19] Speaker D: That's all right. He's got another girlfriend.
[02:51:24] Speaker B: Well, as. As the two of you are doing this and you're flying frantically trying to, like, scrape this SAP into the tankard, the door to the parlay opens and, like, this goblin and larovar kind of step out, and the goblin looks you up and down and.
[02:51:38] Speaker C: Here, get a room.
[02:51:39] Speaker B: She says.
[02:51:44] Speaker C: Yes. Cassandra's just kind of just like pulling just, like, stuff off his, like, massive leg. Just like.
[02:51:53] Speaker D: Are you gonna stand there? Are you gonna help?
[02:51:56] Speaker C: Well, I don't know. I thought that you'll be better at it.
I don't know what to do. I don't know, Leo.
[02:52:04] Speaker B: Well, as the two of you spend an amount of time, kind of, you're able to retrieve the saffron of the tank, and it takes a little while. But whilst you're doing that, Griffin, what are you up to in the. In the parlay?
[02:52:23] Speaker F: I like to think Griffin has gone to the bar, fully believing that everyone else is still there and that he's got himself a drink. And he sort of turns right, he's like, right, post game chat.
[02:52:34] Speaker A: How did we.
[02:52:34] Speaker F: Oh, oh, okay. And just everyone's gone.
He sort of has a look around, trying to find them a bit, but then he's just like, I'll see them in the boarding.
[02:52:51] Speaker B: I will interject, sorry, and say that of your companions, you only spy one, and that is Cooper, who appears to be like, sat on, pretty much sat on a relatively empty table, but everyone else has disappeared.
[02:53:05] Speaker F: Okay, you'll see Cooper then, and he'll sort of trundle up and sort of.
He'll grab another picture as well, and he'll wander up to his little mate.
[02:53:19] Speaker B: What.
[02:53:19] Speaker F: What does Griffin. How does Griffin find Cooper, by the way?
[02:53:24] Speaker B: Well, say the table.
The table only has sort of like, Cooper and this.
This one other person, like, sat on the other side of the table.
But, like, the, you know, all the other chairs are notably empty.
But yeah, it does it like.
I mean, C. C just looks a little bit lonely. If anything, maybe he needs a bit of a cheer up.
[02:53:51] Speaker F: Hey, Cooper. Right, so postgame, how did we feel like that?
[02:53:55] Speaker E: Win.
[02:53:58] Speaker A: Not great if I'm honest, mate. Not, not that great. This is a bit of a weird day for me, if I'm completely frank with you.
[02:54:07] Speaker F: I mean to be all of us, but you know, we did it again. We're getting onto the aisles. You, you met your ex wife, is that right?
[02:54:21] Speaker A: Yeah, that's great. That's right.
[02:54:24] Speaker F: Do you want to talk about it, buddy?
[02:54:36] Speaker A: Not a problem shared.
It's all right, Griff. It's all right.
[02:54:44] Speaker F: Thank you.
[02:54:48] Speaker B: At Griffin as Cooper just sort of like is. Is seemingly trying to like tamp you down.
You hear a, like a clearing of the throat from the gentleman sat on the other side of the table to Cooper.
And as you sort of like turn to look at him like you, There was a part, perhaps there was a part of you that was like, oh, it's just, just some guy like.
And then it dawns on you that perhaps these two are having a bit of a, a natter, a bit of a chin wag.
But the thing that, that grabs your attention about this, this man sat opposite Cooper.
He, he's wearing this sort of like teal, dark teal tunic, a wraparound kind of like gray hood.
But you notice the fit. But the thing that catches your eye the most is the fact that the man has like a large swab of sort of like cloth over his eyes. Like it's a large, like a large blindfold almost in so much as it's almost. It's not performative, it's, it's attention grabbing. So you know that he's perhaps not well presumably looking at him, not using that he's, he's, he's blind.
And you, you notice that kind of leaning on the, the chair that he's. This man is sat on is this like large like quite long purple umbrella with a white wooden handle.
And like Cooper, you know that this umbrella almost kind of doubles up as a, like a, a blind stick that it's long enough that it reaches the ground so he can tap in front of himself to effectively see where he's going. Yes. This man kind of coughs you and like he tilts his head in roughly in your direction.
Griffin. And you can see that like in the, the candle light on the table there's like a, an almost like a lilacy kind of five o' clock shadow across his chin and he.
My apologies, I did not realize we were having guests. Cooper.
[02:57:29] Speaker F: Oh, sorry, my bad. Hi, I'm Griffin. Nice to meet you.
[02:57:33] Speaker B: The man knocks. Nods kick from.
Good to meet you, Cooper. Do. Are you Happy to continue our conversation with present guests.
[02:57:53] Speaker A: Griffin's my friend.
Anything you can say in front of him, you can say in front of me.
[02:58:00] Speaker B: Marvelous.
Please, you must. You must excuse me. I like to paint a picture in my mind of those I'm talking to.
How about you describe yourself to me? Griffin, was it?
[02:58:16] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:58:18] Speaker B: Oh.
[02:58:20] Speaker F: I've got big blonde hair. I've got big pointy ears.
I've got a bit of a beard.
[02:58:29] Speaker A: I.
[02:58:29] Speaker F: Well, stubble mostly.
[02:58:31] Speaker B: I stopped you for a moment.
[02:58:34] Speaker A: That is.
[02:58:35] Speaker B: You are a savar.
[02:58:38] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:58:40] Speaker B: He nods.
It's always. No matter where I am in the world, it's always good to meet a kindred asavar.
[02:58:49] Speaker A: He says.
[02:58:50] Speaker F: I. Amazing.
Well, I always feel like it's good to be transparent. So I do have red eyes. So I am a sanguvar. But, like, don't hold that against me. I know some people are a little bit freaked out, but don't worry, I'm. It's all good.
So more stuff about me. Yes. So I'm about 6 foot.
Yeah, I think that's about it, really.
[02:59:15] Speaker B: The man interjects again.
And like, you notice when you mentioned that you had the red eyes on the usangavar like Cooper, you watched a smirk, like a little smile spread across Kick Fran's face.
And he lifts a hand to sort of like, gain your attention. Griffin, take it from someone with more. Take it from someone with a lot of world experience.
And he. He looks to you, and there's this kind of air of authority that almost kind of radiates from him. And you feel like you feel your Atavari connection is that much closer. And, Griffin, you don't know why, but you get the sense that Kick Fran here is also a sanguar.
Eyes or no eyes, people will make their judgments.
True.
[03:00:17] Speaker A: Very true.
[03:00:18] Speaker F: But I feel like if you've got a positive outlook on it all, then you're gonna be all right.
[03:00:27] Speaker B: He kickfran smiles. And your friend here could. Cooper is wise with his words, But as we were. As we were saying, the job is somewhat time sensitive, but if you would like to accompany me to the western, the. The eastern fang of the isles, I would very much appreciate your company.
And you know that. So, to fill you in, Theo, the western. The eastern island. So the one with the large mountain jutting from it, which is not where everyone else is going.
[03:01:22] Speaker A: I think. I think Cooper kind of like, takes us in, and he's trying to figure this out.
Kit Cran.
[03:01:31] Speaker C: I know.
[03:01:32] Speaker A: I have been waiting to talk to you about this job for a Little while.
But I think things have changed.
[03:01:42] Speaker C: Today.
[03:01:48] Speaker A: I will be going to the aisles, but I'll be in a different location.
I mean, remind me how. How big is this job again?
And you can see he's very conflict.
[03:02:04] Speaker C: Like.
[03:02:05] Speaker A: Like. Obviously, Kid Cran cannot see, but Griffin can see. For the first time in quite a while. Cooper feels a bit.
He looks very conflicted about this conversation.
[03:02:17] Speaker B: Kick Fran like, looks in your direction. Tilts his head.
It is.
This job is of great importance to my patron.
And you will be rewarded handsomely for your cooperation.
However, I acknowledge that I have been somewhat tardy with my timekeeping. The delays have kept me from arriving here when I intended to.
So I'm more than happy to extend this leniency that you have shown me in kind.
Whilst our patron. My patron is eager to see the rewards of this endeavor, I'm sure that they.
They have waited long enough. A few more days and nights should not jeopardize their plans, Their ambitions.
[03:03:30] Speaker A: Okay.
So what is it?
You. I think from.
From the missives.
[03:03:37] Speaker B: It was an expedition of sorts.
[03:03:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[03:03:42] Speaker B: I understand you have prior dealings with the pirates, which have showcased your skills in the retrieval of certain assets.
And my patron would like you to simply demonstrate those skills once again.
[03:04:02] Speaker A: Right.
What is it? I'm stealing? Do I have to kill innocent people? Because that's a no go for me.
I don't do that.
[03:04:12] Speaker B: My patron believes that there is no such thing as innocence. Where we will be going, I. There should be no bystanders or civilians to morally muddy the waters.
[03:04:31] Speaker A: Okay.
Feel like. I shoot a glance at Griffin, as if I want him to also assess if he feels this sounds legit. Like he's. He's giving his confidence. Griffin was very helpful today. I think. Again, we've turned a bit of a corner. Lots has happened. So he's like, you know.
[03:04:50] Speaker B: If our intelligence is correct, no living beings will be harmed on our. As a result of our mission, our operation.
I will remain here for the next few days.
Please bear in mind that we have already partially agreed the terms of this deal.
My patron would be upset if you were to rescind your offer.
[03:05:36] Speaker A: Sure.
Of course.
[03:05:42] Speaker B: And with that Kick Fran kind of sits back.
[03:05:46] Speaker A: Back.
[03:05:47] Speaker B: He reaches. He kind of taps along the table until he finds his tank. And he takes a small sip and he kind of nods your vague directions to you two gentlemen.
He says.
And yeah. The two of you are dismissed.
[03:06:09] Speaker A: Keeper wants a drink now.
[03:06:12] Speaker F: I got your drink.
[03:06:13] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. He literally just takes the drink off himself.
[03:06:16] Speaker D: Thanks.
[03:06:19] Speaker C: Saying that in the third Person Cooper wants a drip, though.
[03:06:27] Speaker A: Cooper was excused himself. And then with the drink from Cooper, they'll go find another. Another table so they can chat.
[03:06:35] Speaker B: Sure.
In which case, Cooper, from your new vantage point alongside Griffin, and I fully assume Griffin, you are.
You are just. You're having a conversation with Cooper for the majority of the rest of the night via Cooper is you. Like, you see that Kick friend just doesn't really move from his spot and no one really seems to take a seat with him. He just seems to command this table of six to himself.
And just like throughout the night, more and more drinks come until eventually he's like, he's helped up to.
You assume some sort of accommodation, some sort of lodging somewhere in the parlay.
Yeah, there's the feeling that you got from the.
The missive that you receive from like, Kick Fran being the contact from this patron, this unnamed patron.
But yeah, it seems like it's like it's one of the big jobs. It's a big job.
So, yes, as you kind of ponder on this and the night wears on, we will fast forward to the next morning and we find the five of you stood on the docks of Dockside on the North Eastern, like, corner of Dorlishelle.
And you see that there's a bit of a flurry of activity as the ships moored in Dockside are smaller. They look smaller. They look more nimble and agile than the, like, the cargo type ships over in the waters, the ones kind of owned by dual.
Yeah, these. These are more pirate sloops, if anything.
But you see a flurry of activity as the pirates like the, like the sun is only just cresting over the horizon, but you can see that the pirates are busily sort of like stocking up the ship and kind of carrying what you know to be kind of empty crates on for any kind of loot or cargo that they're going to procure. Whilst on the aisles and between, like, stood next to you as you inspect this ship, Ellesmere just lets out a big sigh.
She is beautiful, isn't she? She.
To she. She just says it out loud to no one in particular.
But then she kind of turns and looking at the five of you, she loops her arm around yours. Cooper.
Have any of you been on a ship before?
She says.
[03:09:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[03:09:42] Speaker B: Yes, she. And she. Of course you have, dear. She says, nodding to like, nodding her head to you, Abe. Any. Any of the others I have.
[03:09:53] Speaker F: It was a bit of a small bow. It wasn't like it wasn't as big as this. Like, it was more like like a little rowboat, but I'm sure this is I'm sure that's the same.
[03:10:06] Speaker B: She she nods.
Yeah, it's almost identical. Griffin, she says.
Well, the pirates are clearly too busy to give us an introduction, so I suppose it would just fall to me.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce you to as she gestures her hand towards the ship, we're gonna call it there so Chat can decide on the name in preparation for our next episode.
[03:10:38] Speaker E: Oh no.
[03:10:41] Speaker F: How many no boaty McBoat face.
[03:10:45] Speaker B: She she gestures to the boat and we leave. We leave it on an invincible style caption card. Bam.
Yeah, we'll we'll have the name ready for next episode.
Yes. As she she. As she gestures.
Elsewhere and elsewhere in a dark and God damn you go In a dark a dark bedroom on the third floor of the Bountiful parlay, the light of dawn barely creeping through the windows. The the creeping between the closed curtains on the windows.
A blind ace of our man sits on the edge of the bed, his face illuminated by a softly glowing glass orb that emanates this cooling misty blue glow.
I have made contact with the asset.
He seems distracted, but I feel he might still honor our arrangement.
Kick Fran tilts his head as if he's listening to a response that only he can hear before his voice echoes through the room again.
I do not feel he will jeopardize the mission.
We should be good.
I did want to raise something else with you though.
He was with another a sanguifar.
I feel I recognize the voice.
I have my suspicions, but I will need to do more investigation to be sure.
He said his name was Griffin.
And as for Orb flickers as the patron on the other side of the orb responds.
Kick Fran nods.
I will make it my priority, he says, and the orb put us out.
And he carefully places the orb and wraps it back in cloth and throws open the windows to allow the light of dawn to wash over him.
Congratulations everyone on completing episode three.
[03:14:11] Speaker A: Yay.
[03:14:17] Speaker B: So you did it. You. You got a boat perhaps? I'm gonna sniffy McShip face. Good. Good chat. You have to beat sniffy McShip face please.
